"Yes; Where will we go? Should I bring something?" She asked him, smiling. There was something in his posture that told her something wasn't right with him. Her smile faded some. " Wait, is everything okay?" She said, her hands resting on his shoulders. "You seem...distracted."

It was nice, being with her. Knowing that she wanted to be here. Something inside wished her away, so she could be safe, but then again, she was safe with him. She was the only thing he'd done for himself in a long time, and that was the way it was going to stay. She was his one true vice, the one thing he'd never be able to quit. She meant the world to him. But sometimes, loved ones are better off leaving. To, live a happy life. Have a couple kids, get married, buy a nice house in suburbia, the works. He knew that was something he'd never be able to provide for her. But it was her choice, what she wanted.
She couldn't possibly want his kind of life, sleeping with guns beside the bed, having next to nothing. Killing, everyday. Death and destruction, everywhere. The block was a desolate place, and if you didn't get out by high school, you weren't going to.

She smiled at him, kissed him quickly before running back upstairs to grab her skates. She ran her hands over the leather and smiled thoughtfully. It's been so long but her legs were itching for it. She shoved her skates in her duffle bag and shoved her medication in her purse before running back downstairs to greet him. " I'm ready." She said, though under her eyes were a little bruised looking, she smiled anyway. "Are you gonna skate? I don't have an extra men's skates, I mean we could buy some." She said and felt a little foolish then, he obviously didn't come from money like she did, and while when she could just randomly buy things, she didn't want to flaunt it, not in front of him or his friends. She didn't want to come off as vain.

"Yeah, we could. Yo, John, you down to hold the fort?" Rakim asked, not caring enough to really listen to the answer.
"Yeah, c'mere for a sec though" John spoke with a hint of seriousness in his voice. He grabbed Rakim by the arm and whispered to him.
"You've been gone an awful lot, some of the boys are starting to wonder. You got two hours. Then get your ass back here, we got a trap to run chops."
Rakim knew what he was talking about, he had been to gone lately, it was time to settle down. "I'll be back" he whispered.
"Yeah, alright bro, catch you later." He said loudly, enough to make sure River could hear. It had been a nice getaway, but it really was time to get real. He'd take her out for a few hours, then, he'd be back. He hopped into the Caddy, and pulled out a blunt and his zippo. He sparked it, took a few good puffs, and looked at River. "You want some of this? If not it's no big deal."

"You want some of this? It not it's no big deal."
She looked at it for a second and considered it but then shook her head. "I-I can't...My meds...it'll..."She held up her hands and waved it some. " mess with it." She said and took a breath as he pulled off. " Rakim..."She said softly as they drove. " You..you wouldn't lie to me, Would you?" She asked softly. She wasn't looking at her hands, and purposefully not looking at him.
"You keep saying it's nothing, it nothing, when I ask you whats wrong, but you seem distracted, or at least trying to distract yourself...You'd tell me, wouldn't you? if something was really wrong?"
She looked up, searching for his eyes.

"No." He thought to himself, despite his response.
"Yeah, I definitely would. Trust me, everything's perfect." He said as he kissed her, trying to hide the fact that this was an obliviously obvious lie. He wanted to be truthful, but how could he? This wasn't some sort of small issue they could work out, this was, one of them needed to leave. Simple and plain. He wasn't sure how he could leave, she had never left him. This was going to be hard, but he decided to enjoy his last day with her.
They reached the "City of gold" after a good 15 minutes of driving. It was rich, too rich. Gold lined everything. It was disrespect. He hated them for it, for all of it. These people were the ones who made the slums, so they could sleep on silk, eat with golden spoons, own a 23 bedroom house just to be able to say you have more bedrooms than your neighbour. It was disgusting. These people, they were filth.
They arrived at the arena a few minutes early. Rakim put out his blunt, and hopped out of the Caddy.

River allowed him the kiss, she felt it in her heart he wasn't being truthful but she wanted to trust him, she did. She let it alone for the rest of the ride.
Soon they were in Beverly Hills. River's family was wealthy but these people were millionaires, they didn't have to want for anything yet that's all they seemed to do, River wondered if that's what he thought about her. She knew better then to think that so she abandoned the thought.
Once he pulled over, she got out of the car and grabbed her gear. The smell was what struck her first. It had be en too long but now, standing hee, taking in the smell of the ice, she felt right at home. It took all she had not to run to the floor. She smiled to herself as she pulled her skates from her bag. "Did you want to rent of skates" She asked him. The conversation in the car still bothering her some as she slipped on her skates.

Southwest part of town, Compton's a little more organized than the rest of the west side. Crime is very controlled, mainly by Compton Pirus gangs. Beef is mostly kept to drive by's and house killings.
