{Personality}
Theo is a romanticist, living in a purely idealistic world where everyday is a fairytale and nothing ever goes wrong. He's a diplomat, always searching for ways to bring people together, to create lasting physical and emotional connections in people. Because of his talent for being able to see the full picture and not just details, he is often found playing the peacemaker between different parties, completely unbiased and able to see things from others points of view. Though at heart a free spirit, he tries not to be tied down to others, living for the bonds he creates with many people, not just one. He tends to be the life of the party, but rather than living for the excitement and spontaneity of the moment, he is enjoying the interactions he has with others.

Charming, independent, energetic, and compassionate. If you were to ask anyone to give you a word to describe Theo, there is no doubt these four would be more prominent. He has an irresistible charm that makes him hard to dislike, and much too easy to be swept up in the tornado that is Theo. There's a way about him that just makes things exciting, he puts so much heart and fun into things that even mundane tasks such as chores can be seen as fun when he is with you. Do not try and limit him though, for you will see a part of Theo that no one will find charming and lovable. Fiercely independent in every aspect, he craves creativity and freedom, the ability to do what he wants when he wants. That isn't to say he can not follow the rules of others (though he does have a tendency to bend the rules), but if you try to micromanage him, nothing can go right. He would prefer to make his mistakes and own up to them than have someone over his shoulder the entire way, making sure things are done right.

Theo has an enthusiastic personality, coming up with new ideas all the time and throwing his whole self into them. In the past years he has gone from hundreds of different things, from wanting to be a photographer, to a artist, to a jockey, DJ, musician, programmer, professional athlete, lawyer, doctor, and the list just goes on. It's hard for him to find a place where he's truly comfortable, though he's good at most of these things and picks up various skills very quickly (due to his determination and compassion), he had not yet found a place where he wants to stay. That is one of the downfalls of a ENFP though, he will spend a lot of time exploring various interests, social relationships, ideas, his feelings, until he finds something that just clicks. His compassion for people and ideas is something else that tends to draw people in, because it is rare to find someone so genuinely interested in everything. It makes people feel comfortable around him.

But Theo is independent to a fault, going as far as to let himself suffer before he will even think about involving another party. His interest for others and desire to know leaves him very closed off, because he is constantly wanting to learn more and is often suppressing himself, his own personality, his feelings, his needs. Being someone who has always been considered a "trouble", Theo has now grown terrified of becoming a burden to anyone else, so he rarely allows others to help him out, even if they offer. This is made worse by his attitude towards others, and how people generally find him sensitive and empathetic so they feel compelled to tell them their feelings and problems, which can lead to him becoming stressed very easily. That isn't to say he doesn't enjoy helping others, but it can become a task for him to stay away from being overwhelmed because he wants to help so much.

In relationships with others, both friendly and romantically, Theo is always open-minded and supportive, warm and sincere and almost a natural at drawing people out of their shells. He has a large group of friends and is constantly making more, never judging on things as silly as social statuses or rumors heard from another. People are drawn to him, especially out-going types, because of his attitude. He will go to great lengths and be very persistent in getting to know more reserved types of people, especially if they interest him or have rejected him socially before. Drawn especially to introverted types, they can keep him interested for a much longer time than others like him, open and willing to share, because of their usually private nature, even if they may never reciprocate. On the other side of the coin though, his willingness to put his entire heart and soul into a person can be what injures him most. It can come to a shock as him when he discovers his friends aren't as flawless as he thought they were, or that they aren't putting as much into their relationship as he is (which is unrealistic).

In conclusion, there are very few types of people that are as energetic and compassionate as someone like Theo. His idealism can be his greatest asset, unexpected challenges or personal growth, and his biggest weakness, maintaining a relationship with a partner, staying calm, making decisions. Overall he just has a very large heart that he wants to give all of to everyone, and sometimes forgets that not everyone is a saint.

{History}
Theodore Matthews is an only child and comes from money. With a oil company CEO for a father and a lawyer for a mother, he was pretty set from the moment he was born. Both parents mostly ignored Theo, not meaningfully, but they both had busy jobs to attend to to ensure he got to live a life of luxury. The only time he really saw them was for family vacations, to the Bahamas in the summer, and to Paris for Christmas. And then most of the time they were just in the other room yelling, and then mom would disappear for a few hours so that Theo and dad could have some bonding time. Around the time he was seven they got divorced and mom left, having been increasingly distant from Theo in the few months before this, it doesn't surprise him that she cut him off completely after leaving.

Perhaps his lonely childhood is the reason he seeks bonds with so many other individuals now, trying to find a way to make each one meaningful and lasting, because as a child he was neglected of that. Nowadays people just like him for his good looks and his money, but Theo is usually too naive to realise this, ever. Fortunately the way he grew up does not have a negative impact on who he is now, other than his mother always treating him like a bother has made him terrified to become a trouble to anyone else. That isn't necessarily a bad thing either, though.

His past three years at summer camp have been great. Both fourth years now, Theo and Colton were newbies together, and they bonded over it. Or, not really, they more bonded because Theo forced Colton to open up to him or risk death from being too annoyed. The end of their second year he got a kiss from the boy, and their third year was spent in a very honeymoon like stage. This recent school year has not been a great one, because he and Colton went from spending all the time together to Theo having the other boy ignore him, and if there is anything Theo hates it is being ignored. Fortunately summer camp is back in session soon, and he'll be able to corner the boy and ask why he's been being ignored.

{Family Tree : People of Importance}
Father - CEO of some oil company, traveling most of the time, good relationship.
Mother - Lawyer, off with her newest husband somewhere, she ignores Theo mostly, he doesn't talk about it.

{Happiest Memory}
His first pet, a reddish brown husky that they named Zeus. They got him around the time Theo was learning to talk, and saw a dog outside a store and immediately wanted one. Of course he got whatever he wanted, so a few days later Theo was bringing home this little boy. The kid loved him to death, they were the same age so for the most part they grew up together, and unfortunately dogs don't live as long as humans do.

{Saddest Memory}
It's a tie between something that happened when he was younger, and something more recent. When he was younger it was when his parents sat him down and told him they were splitting up, just in time for moms new boyfriend to come storming in the house like he was about to challenge Theo's dad to a duel for her hand (he's long gone now, no one even remembers his name). Besides that, it was when Zeus's cancer came back. When they first discovered his tumor, Theo was only eight. They removed it and it looked like it was going to be fine, until Zeus and Theo were wrestling around the time Theo turned ten and... they found the lump again. Four more times they had it removed, four more times it grew back. Until finally he was too old and there wasn't anything left to stitch him up.

Image

{Other}
Theo used to seek sexual relationships with others because he felt it was his only way of bonding with some.
His father did remarry and his step-mom is a nice lady, she makes delicious home-cooked meals and gives him the love his mother never did, so he's okay with it.
He is obsessed with sweets.
Soccer team captain since sophomore year.

Setting
93 Degrees Fahrenheit | 33.889 Degrees Celsius
Sunday, April 4th, 2014 7:22 AM

A trumpet sounded from a distance, loud and melodic in its usual 'To The Colors' anthem as scouts rose the American flag into the clear blue skies. Everyone had a part to play; dining halls had to be swept, mopped and pristine dinnerware were acquired to be displayed orderly, every watercraft were pulled out from its position in the shed and were instead lined up beside Lake Fairfield according to their size and shape, washrooms were scrubbed clean as expected, varies workshops had each booth displayed out into campgrounds, the cabins were to be dusted, cleaned, and assigned to the appropriate campers that were soon to arrive, and lastly every staff member put on their best smiles for these campers. A year had past since they had last seen them, and now they were determined as ever, hoping that these last five months would be spent in true enjoyment at Merrie Woode summer camp.

Summer Camp. The words took a dreadful outlook upon Judith. Five month of pure horror with other campers she knew ever since she first attended Merrie Woode; others who inconspicuously tried to make her life a living hell more so than it already had been since the death of Jamie last year, her life little by little was beginning to accumulate all things suffering. Course she tried to look at the positive side, but it was difficult. Besides, who would be around to make sure she never forgotten her inhaler? Surely the others wouldn't. Half never even spoken a hundred words to her let alone acknowledged her appearance. She was only a forgotten soul at the center of earth; a mystery amongst various insights. Though, she never cared. Whatever the others thought, it was theirs to observe. No comment needed.

She leaned her head against the car window, watching as the scenery zip by, a tableau of dark green fir trees, bright rays from the sun reflecting off of the cars, and clear blue skies from above. "Beautiful? Isn't it?" her father took casual glances in the back towards her.

"Every year." She smiled vaguely.

Her father chuckled and flicked on the radio; turning it to the classical station. Judith heard the first few bars of Yiruma's River Flows In You, which was the very piece she was supposed to be working on while at camp before her Julliard audition in September. She felt some kind of cosmic coincidence. She began to concentrate on the notes, imagining herself playing, feeling grateful for this chance to practice, happy to be cool in a car with her melody and her family. She closed her eyes.

"Em? Em, honey, wake up." Someone softly shook at her shoulder. Alarmed, Judith jerked awake. It was her mother."We're here." she said.

Judith looked passed her and fair enough she spotted the sign declaring it to have been Merrie Woode. "Right." she rubbed at her eyes before grabbing her two luggages, hopped out the car, and shutting the door behind her at the same time her father met her with a duffel bag that withheld all her necessities. He took one look at his daughter, his Judy, and pulled her into a hug. "You have fun, okay? Jamie may not be here, but she's always watching over you."

The sound of Jamie's name only made Judith clutch her father even closer. "I will. You know I always will."

A minute passed. Two. Then, her father released her. She turned to her mother, and instantly she was embraced. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, mom." Then, she let go; slinging the duffel bag over her shoulder she managed to roll her luggage down the rugged concrete. Halfway toward a staff member that awaited her, she turned around- her hair whipping at her face- and looked at her parents. They were standing with arms linked over each other as they looked back at their little girl. They knew that she would only be away for the summer, but it was as if they weren't enjoying the thought of her leaving. Josephine raised a hand in goodbye, before walking down a little stone path lined with dark hedges and met face to-face with a tall, balding man, "Miss Ahlström! Welcome back. " He said casually, smiling warmly. "You may remember me as Michael McDonnell, founder of Merrie Woode. Anyhow, here's your schedule," He handed her a paper filled with useful information. Then, he pointed in the direction of her cabin.

Morning came all to fast for the two boys who laid sprawled out on the bed, sound asleep. Half empty bags of chips laid across the floor along with empty soda cans on the dressers and the garbage can overflowing with candy wrappers. A series of three knocks were made on the door while a womanly voice was heard on the other side.

" Hey.You two sleeping beauties get your butts out of bed, we have to get going soon."

Dylan lifted his head up half way at the sound of his mothers voice only to lay it back down when she had gone. He closed his eyes once more hoping to get at least five more minutes of sleep when the alarm went off causing him to jump and fall off the bed with a heavy thud.

" Whoa- ouch!"

They had stayed up way too late last night. Theo is pretty sure they had had no intention of actually falling asleep, and had been planning an all nighter, but sometime in the middle of the night they must have both passed out. When he finally does wake up, to the knock at the door, he's lying on the corner of Dylan's bed and assumes they must have been playing a game, because his face is resting on a controller and he's pretty sure there's an imprint of it now on his face.

Theo had been in the process of reaching to grab one of the soda cans in hope there would still be something left in it when their alarm went off, and instead he sent a few of them flying to the floor. That wasn't the end of it though, because behind him he hears Dylan hit the floor and his cringe turns into a grin. "Nice one, idiot. You alright?" He's asking as he reaches to hit the alarm, trying to turn it off.

Once he finally gets it to stop buzzing he sets to picking up the cans on the floor, and is glad to see none of them had had any drink left in them. There's butterflies in his stomach because today is it, he's finally going to see him again and this time they're going to be stuck together for months. The kid couldn't ignore him like he did at school. When he's done cleaning he goes to his suitcase to grab the clothes out that he wanted to wear that day, "Have you even packed yet dude?"

Dylan wrestled himself back onto his bed, his hair sticking up all over. "I'm A-okay bro"
Dill had looked up at Theo and all but tried to hold back from bursting into laughter. " Dude, I think I might mistake your face for the game remote." After his short fit of laughter, he stood up still dressed in his pajamas and looked around his room doing a full 360 with a clueless expression on his face. " Packing, packing . . ." Dylan thought out loud as he looked for around for his bag.

" Um . . . nope, I don't think so . . ." He looked at Theo failing to realize the urgency of packing a bag since they had to be out the house in less than 30 minutes but it sunk in about 10 seconds later since his brain was still in sleep mode. " My bag!" The boy ran over to his closet, more like tried to run while tripping over something's here and there but he made it all the same and ripped it open.

Pulling down his duffle bag, Dill began to just shove clothes into his bag. At one point he thought he had threw in an empty soda can without thinking but he was probably wrong. . . right? " Hey dude, toss me that shirt." Dill pointed to the clean shirt that for some reason was hanging off the side of his computer chair.

Theo is in the middle of pulling his shirt off and attempting to pull (very tight) skinny jeans on at the same time when Dylan asks for his shirt. He groans but, after finishing with his shirt, he goes over and grabs it anyways, balling it up and tossing it at Dylan's face with a sweet smile. "We're gonna get there and you'll have like, five hundred shirts and one pair of jeans." Because he clearly is not paying attention to what he's putting in his bag, unlike Theo who basically has his outfits planned for the next five months.

After he's dressed and is just waiting on his best friend, he seeks out the pizza that they had gotten delivered last night, more than happy when he discovers there's still a few pieces left. "Dude, cold pizza for breakfast?" He asks around a mouthful of it. They weren't going to have time for real breakfast, so he figured this was a great alternative.

Scrunching up his nose when the shirt was thrown at him, Dylan proceeded to do the same as Theo and removed the current shirt he was wearing to slip on the clean crisp one. He pulled a pair of jeans from the closet and also slipped them on when Theo made his comment about the shirts. Dylan looked down at his bag and hung his head when he noticed his best friend was totally right. With a sigh he began to remove some shirts and replaced them with shorts and jeans. When his friend asked him if he wanted cold pizza for breakfast, Dill all but stopped what he was doing and walked over to the box while wrestling to button his jeans in the process, Dylan was just absolutely terrible with buttons. "Don't mind if I do."

Grabbing the last cold slice he bit into it and held it in between his teeth while he again, struggled to button up his shirt now. Once finished and looking snazzy like his friend, Dylan tossed something's he needed into the bag then zipped it up. His mother called out once more telling the boys that she'll be in the car waiting. The boy checked himself over for a second making sure he had everything and didn't forget anything then looked over at his bro with eyebrow raised and a grin pulling at the edges of his lips. He pulled out his backpack from the closet and opened it laying it on the bed.

" I may have not packed my clothes before hand but I did pack our little mischief bag with all we need and then some, even the water balloons! " zipping it back up, he slung it over his shoulder and headed out the door with half the pizza still in his mouth. " Let's be out, the ladies and gents must be waiting for us!" he jokingly said.

Theo laughed more when he saw what he had said was right, and Dylan had packed mostly shirts. He shook his head and rolled his eyes, but this was his best friend, and his scatterbrain-ness just made their ploys and pranks more fun. Especially when he forgot to bring something they needed, and the new plan they had to come up with was even better than the original. Or when Theo was bored out of his mind, because together they could almost always figure out something to do.

He's almost finished with his pizza when Dylan pulls the backpack out of the closet, and Theo is all too pleased with the contents. "Nice! They have no idea what they're about to be in for this year." Or maybe they did, because it was no secret that putting Dylan and Theo together meant mischievous things were going to happen. Last year they had been sorely unequipped with the proper tools, so this year they needed to be ready. Though it wasn't like he had expected his friend to forget, he just sort of had, a little bit.

Not long later they're in the car and on the way to camp, and the butterflies in his stomach have changed to elephants stampeding around, and he's starting to wonder if cold pizza was a good idea this morning. He doesn't say anything though, because he's not the nervous type, and he doesn't want to bother Dylan anyways. "Wonder who we're going to be put up with." He muses aloud, running fingers through his hair.

Glancing over to Theo, Dylan read his face like a book and smiled placing his hand on his friends shoulder. " I know exactly who you're looking forward to seeing." he sung out while opening a snickers bar and taking a bite out of it then offering some to his buddy. " Me on the other hand don't really have anyone to be that happy to see. " he shrugged nonchalantly as he chewed the chocolaty goodness.

Dylan was lying, there was someone he kind of was looking forward to see and that was the little redhead he had a crush on for a while, Judith. He never really made a move or anything, actually she's the only girl he hasn't pathetically hit on. His face began to go red while thinking about it and he turned his head to look out the window but quickly perked up when he saw the camp sign. " Well boy's were here." said Dylan's mom as she turned down the rock music that was playing.

Like always, Dylan read his thoughts as if they had been displayed on his forehead. He huffs out a breathy laugh and shakes his head, because he's being silly. This year was going to be great, even if Colton hated him and probably never wanted to see him again. Because things always worked out in the end, right? It wasn't like he needed a boyfriend... he just really wanted him to be his.

Theo turns down the chocolate, giving his friend a odd look, because chocolate and pizza? "You must have a stomach of steel dude." Then he watched him shrug and look away, face turning red, and Theo knew something was up. As far as he was aware, Dylan didn't have a girlfriend, or anyone that he seriously liked. But then again, he had always been horrible at reading people. "I know bro, the only man you need in your life is me anyways, yeah?" He teases with a wink.

And then they're there. The camp sign comes into view and Dylan's mom is announcing their arrival. He feels like he's having an out of body experience, watching himself get out of the car and grab his suitcase from the back, walk up the drive with Dylan and get their cabin assignments. Because he wants to get back in the car and go home and curl up in his room and not come out until the summer was over. "Cabin 6, bobcats." He reads off to Dylan.

Dylan chuckled at Theo's comment and responded with a "Damn right" before hopping out the car. His mom followed behind and gave the boys one big hug before she kissed Dylan on the forehead and got back in the car. " I'll see ya later mom, love ya!" he waved as she drove off waving back. His mom was always so cool, she had raised Dylan all by herself and use to be in a rock band but you could never guess by her appearance now, except when she played her rock music loud and was head banging at a stop sign or something. Adjusting his backpack, Dylan followed Theo up to get their papers and stuck out his bottom lip in a pouting manner as he read off his cabin. " Bottle-nose Dolphins "

Lucas sped down the road with a broad smile on his face with Liam holding the seat beside him, his eyes sealed shut as he hoped the two made it to camp, alive. They had left their house a while ago, not bothering to tell their mother where they went as they packed their bags, grabbed the card they had bought with their credit card, then sped off. "You do know that just because you think you're invincible, doesn't mean we both are, or that you are," Liam groaned, trying to not get sick over the sight of trees speeding by faster than they should. "Yeah, well, there's no fun in life if you don't ever test the possibility of having invincibility," Lucas claims though he does relent on the gas a bit, allowing his brother to breath somewhat comfortably.

"Dude, what if we aren't put in the same cabin," Lucas asks, his one fear for the summer ahead. Liam shrugs, knowing well why Lucas was nervous. He didn't want to have to deal with crap about his scar. "If we are separated, the other dude will probably be cool if you ask him to be," Liam claims with a shrug. The two had been wondering what would happen this summer and had already openly shared their desires. Lucas's was to man up, and talk to a certain pretty blond girl. Liam's was to not act entirely stupid around a certain red head. Though neither said the name out loud, both knew exactly who the other was referring to.

Soon, the trees began to slow even more and the sign for their beloved camp, Lucas pulled into a little gravel parking lot that was mostly used for pick up and drop off though they had gotten special permission to park their over the summer, as long as they turned their keys in to the director of camp. The two stepped out of the car, going to the back where Lucas popped the trunk. Their sneakers crunched over the gravel as they grabbed their bags, each having a duffel bag filled with all their clothing, toiletries, and some special things. Liam grabbed his guitar case and Lucas, his camera bag.

As they began walking down the pebble hill, both smiled at the idea of being back at camp. They had an entire summer off, to do whatever they wanted without an adult to nag them or yell at them or do something horrible. All of a sudden, Lucas grabbed his camera bag, threw his duffel bag on Liam, and took off towards the cabin area that was close. "Dude what are you doing?" Liam calls after him. "You know I have to get pictures of everyone before they reach their cabin, before and after for the summer. I explained this in the car," Lucas says without turning back as he runs toward some girl who was rolling her bag towards her cabin. Liam sighed, resigning himself to having to carry everything himself as he walked down towards the camp director and creator, giving a wave to those he saw on the way, more of a nod since his hands were full though.

"Mr.McDonnell," Liam began as he approached the balding man that was only slightly taller than himself. Mr.McDonnell gave a wide smile to him. "Where's your brother?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "Stealing pictures already," Liam claims as he sets down Lucas's duffel bag with a plop and his own more gently. "Where are we this year?" Liam asks as he accepts his schedule and cabin information, expecting his cabin to be the same as Lucas's. To his surprise, his read Bottle-Nose Dolphins and Lucas's read Elephant Seals.

"Sorry Liam, but you two should get out there and meet others, you've been cabin mates since you started coming here, it's time for an itty bitty change," Mr.McDonnell said with a wink causing Liam to just nod reluctantly, a half smile on his face. He hadn't really thought it would happen. With that, Liam began to make his way towards his cabin, planning to drop Lucas's stuff off in front of his in the process.

Lucas had not paused as he had run up to a girl with black hair, taking photos as he approached, tilting the camera this way and that. "Right there, hold it right there," He says as he snaps a few more photos.

"What the hell was that?" She asked. Lucas realized he really didn't recognize her and put his camera down, offering his hand to shake hers. "Lucas Woods, camp photographer dude who takes pictures for before and after camp. This is for before so we can see you with all the friends you make after. It's something I've always done. Nice to meet you," Lucas says with a smile. "Next time you want a photo then at least ask." Lucas nods, "Fair enough, ask and you shall receive," he responds with a wink when he catches a glimpse of red hair.

"Hollie," he practically shouts as he catches sight of his twin's crush. He looks back to the girl, not quite sure if he caught her name in the conversation but figuring he'd try to find it in his memory later as he takes off again towards Hollie, calling back to the girl as he goes, "Gotta grab some others. See you at the bonfire, find me if you need help or have questions."

As he runs up to Hollie, he smiles. "Hey, beautiful, looking sharp as always. Wanted to snap a pic before you head into your cabin and camp really begins," Lucas says as he kneels in front of her, snapping pictures as he shuffles on his knees with a wide smile as he twists the camera for different angles again. He knew she wouldn't find him to be flirting with her, it was just the way he always said hey to girls like her and Brooklyn, though with Brooklyn, he called her gorgeous, that was just for her. "What's going on?" He asks when he hears a shout from his brother. "Lucas, help me carry your stuff," he calls as he lumbers towards the cabin, looking like he might topple. "I am busy making art, gosh, respect my hobbies!" Lucas calls back more joking than anything else and knowing it would come across that way.

"Hi Hollie, you... you look really pretty today. Have a nice last semester?" Liam asked as he came up, already feeling like an idiot as he asked if she had had a good time at school, who ever had a good time at school? All of a sudden, Lucas leaps to his feet again, taking off as he calls over his shoulder, "Bye Hollie, see you later, without pausing."

He nearly passes Judie as his eyes had been caught on Theo, but pauses, snapping shots. "Yo red head, long time no see right? Smile pretty pretty, wonderful, perfect, love them, you work it girl," then takes off yet again, calling back, "See you later Judie."

He runs up to Theo and Dylan with a wide smile. "Yo dudes, ready for your before camp pics?" He asks as he begins to take shots of the boys, pretty sure Theo would start posing, or trying to photo bomb his own photos, in some way or fashion. "What's been going on?" He asks easy going.

Liam looks at Hollie, unable to find proper words. "You happy to be back at camp?" He asks as he drops his stuff on the path by her cabin to walk towards her. "Want some help with those?" He offers as he offers to take her bags for her and carry them into her cabin. At least he would feel chivalrous, even if he couldn't form proper thoughts or anything.

Colton watched as the bus drove away, spitting exhaust in his face and causing him to cough as the polluted air entered his lungs chocking him. Glancing around he realized he was currently two miles from Merrie Woode. The destination that the bus driver had claimed was too far off his route to go to, and that he was lucky that he would even get this close. He had practically acted like Colton was making him commit murder as he pulled the bus to a stop at the side of the road. Well it wasn't his fault that his parent had been "busy", and they didn't have time to take him.

Colton returned to glaring at the bus, before deciding on putting his middle finger up as a thank you to the rude bus driver. It finally disappeared around a corner leaving Colton standing alone with an old suitcase and heavy backpack. Turning away from the road, his eyes traced over the giant like trees and he took in the nature. He closed his eyes as he tried to treasure the fresh air and bird calls of the forest. Glad that it wasn't car exhaust and bullies at school who could never get his name right instead. Those people and the hell hole of a school he attended didnt matter now. All that mattered now, was that he was on his way to Merrie Woode. The place he had called sanctuary for the last four years.

Kicking at a rock, Colton began walking picking up a tune as he began to hum. The silence making him itch and letting his mind wander. He needed sound, some kind of sound. Anything, as long as it wasn't silence. Concentrating on the natural noise and life of the woods, Colton started singing, making words up as he went.

By the time he that he was almost positive that he was dying, thanks to his heavy luggage, walking and smoldering heat, he was finally able see the sign, announcing the presence of Merrie Woode.

Colton watched the steady income of cars as he got closer. Recognizing some familiar faces through the car windows, and he smiled. Finally he wouldn't have to always watch his back in fear of getting shoved into a wall or locker, he didn't have to act like the rude comments didn't bothered him. He could be with his friends, away from his parents and in the heat of summer and fun. Colton watched as kids got out of their cars hugging their parents before turning and heading towards the camp. Colton looked around, chocolate brown eyes searching for the founder of the camp, so he could receive his cabin information. That's when he sees him.

Theodore Matthews.

Dangerous appearing tattoos. Thin yet strong, with arms that could hold you and make you feel like the only person in the world. Soft kissable lips, and handsome as ever, in the flesh.

Colton freezes, his heart clenching as he watches the boy who still claims his heart to this day. Theodore was the very person who had made summer camp more appealing each year, he was the person who Colton felt like was the only one in the world who understood him. He was the person that would make this year at summer camp hell. Colton wouldn't be able to relax, he would constantly be walking on egg shells as usual, trying to avoid the boy who could do so much better than him.

Colton's eyes searched the area around him wildly as he searched for a hiding place so Theo wouldn't see him when he turned and headed for his camp information.

Jumping into the near by bushes, Colton lands on his knees scraping his elbow against branches. He hisses slightly as he examines the cut, but stays quiet and hidden as he watches Theo and Dylan pass him and walk up the path. He really hopes that Theo didn't see him, because it would be really hard explaining that to him, if they ever happened to talk.

Leaning back, he lets the strong smell of dirt calm him as he runs a hand through his hair, a sigh escaping his lips. Why was he such a coward, why couldn't he just face him? He would have to eventually with Theodore's persistence and the fact that there was no way, even with his skill for finding awesome hiding places, could he ever handle doing escape plans all summer.

Standing up Colton brushed his clothes off before taking off to find Judith, he was pretty sure he saw her car come through here.

They've been here all of five minutes and Theo is already sad that they have to leave in five months. This was going to be his last year at camp. After this he was off to college, in some state far, far away, and he would probably get a job by then and wouldn't be able to come back to Merrie Woode. Though it wasn't like he needed a job with his parents money, but Theo didn't like relying on them or being too much of a bother, troubling even his parents made him feel bad. The only reason he had agreed to let Dylan's mom drive them to the camp today was because his dad was out of town on business and his step-mom couldn't drive, and since his dad wasn't around, their driver wasn't on the job, and Theo would have felt bad making him drive him all the way out there.

Besides, staying over Dylan's last night had been fun. His best friend didn't care how terrified Theo was of zombies, or how much he hated scary movies, he made him suck it up and deal with it. And for the most part he was fine with Theo cowering underneath him or grabbing onto his arm and squeezing hard enough to leave a mark when he got scared. All that combined with candy, pizza, and an outrageous amount of soda made for a very good night. Even if now he felt like he had a sugar-hangover and was either ready to curl up and nap or bounce all over the place and annoy the shit out of everyone.

"Dude, we're not in the same cabin? That's shit." Theo huffs, but he only looks a little bit annoyed. It wasn't like they didn't already have plans to sneak out after lights out and hang out (or cause trouble) anyways. "They apparently learned from last yea- Hey! It's Lucas!" He catches sight of a brunette with a camera running around in the middle of his sentence, and in a very Theo-like fashion jumps from one subject to the next very quickly. One minute he's standing there facing his friend with his cabin assignment in his hands and the next he's launched himself into Dylan's arms, fully intent on his friend catching him, until he realises that he's about 5'6" and Theo is almost 6'2". Instead he ends up with one leg holding him up on the ground and one held up by Dylan. "Paint us like one of your french girls, Lucas!" He smiles sweetly whilst making bunny ears behind Dylan's head.

Eventually, after a few pictures in various poses, he returns to standing on his own two legs. After that, other than greeting the photographer and saying a few words, he lets Dylan take over the conversation. It's obvious that he's a bit distracted as his eyes flick around, here and there, searching for the messy haired boy that had ignored him all year. He just wants to know why. Wants to know if he hates him now, or just wasn't ever that interested. Did he do something wrong? Was he stupid to think that they had something? Maybe he had gotten too clingy or something, he had tried to do everything that Colton wanted but... Was that him?

"Hey Colton!" He yells without thinking, raising his hand to wave. First instinct has him taking a step in his direction, but he pulls himself back and stays next to Dylan and Lucas. If he was avoiding him, Theo wasn't going to bother him. At least not yet. He had the next five months to get him to talk to him, he could deal another few days. Even so, he offers the other boy a friendly smile before turning back towards his two friends, giving Dylan a look that sort of says if I try to go after him, sit on me please.

Dylan breathed in the warm earthy air around him as he looked up from the paper he held in his hand. Damn was he was glad to be back at Merrie Woode, glad to be around people that were more approachable than the ones in school. It was going to be his last year like Theo's so they promised to live it up and make it the best year they ever had. Hey there's no harm in ending the their time here with a bang? Literally . . . as in fireworks, trust me that's definitely the idea that's running through Dylan's head right now. The grin began to pull at the corners of his lips before Theo's voice snapped him out of his little diabolical plans. " I know, It's straight bollocks I tell ya."

In the slight heat of the moment Dylan's little Irish accent slipped through along with some of it's slang. Dylan's expression went from pouting to a small chuckle that escaped his lips upon hearing Theo say how much trouble they caused last year."Yea? If they thought we were trouble last year they're going to absolutely love us this year mate." Dylan only had seconds before Theo had threw himself at him but the lad managed to catch him, somewhat, what he could anyway Theo was way taller than him so you can picture the struggle. The lad in sync began making faces at the camera and posing along with Theo. His first pose was a playful tongue sticking out at the camera and the rest followed naturally as he attempted hilarious poses with his bro.

" Hey Lucas! Be a darling and get my good side." Dylan jokingly says in the best girly voice he can produce as he poses one last time before Theo was back onto his feet. Brushing off his shirt slightly Dylan gave Lucas one of his goofy smiles before running his fingers through his hair. " It's been going dreadful! You know how school is with all the people. . . and crowdedness, Anyway I'm just glad to be back, kind of sad though it's our last year here." he let out a sigh but recovered quickly before continuing. " So how was your . . . Winter and all? " a small chuckled followed after his question.

Dylan caught Theo from the corner of his eyes looking as if he was searching for someone desperately and he automatically knew who he was looking for. When Theo found his little target but chose not to approach Dylan simply just placed his arm around Theo's shoulder in a reassuring manner. The lad's eyes met Colton's as he waved gently with a smile upon his lips before turning his gaze back to his friends and catching Theo's look. Dill rolled his eyes with a small grin on his face as if saying, I'll do more than sit on you, I'll tie your tall ass up if I have too. Suddenly a familiar redhead caught Dylan's peripheral vision causing him to slightly turn his head and look at her. Judith, was the girl that caught his eyes but when does she not? He felt like an idiot around her but his crush wasn't that big that he'd mess up his words around her, stutter a bit yes but never not complete a sentence around her.

Before he knew it, Dylan had spaced out and was absentmindedly staring at her for a good minute before catching himself. He saw Ben, a chill guy he only knew by name awkwardly make his way towards Judith but suddenly turned and spoke to the odd girl not to far from her. The short girl with black hair was very interesting looking and Dylan was drawn to interesting. He'll make note to introduce himself later.

"Hey freak." The voice was vaguely familiar, its words were harsh, penetrating. Instinctively, Judith knew who it was; however, she made no intent to turn around for fear of what trouble would await her. It was only then had she nearly ran into someone who blocked her pathway. When she looked up she wasn't surprised to find Hollie glancing down at her with that conceited smirk of hers. A small, defenseless mouse locked in the eyes of a vicious snake.

"Where's your stupid sister?" She asked, though they both knew that she couldn't care less whether or not if Jamie was at Judith's side. However, that didn't let the urge to tell Hollie what really happened to Jamie. She needed the strength if she was going to survive camp on her own especially after hearing someone say Jamie's name for the first time since she died. Her parents always made note to avoid saying her name when around Judith. They both knew how inseparable their daughter's were, like 'two peas in a pod' expect one had made its way out. And that made one pea left alone in its vast space.

It was truly painful, but Judith was a strong girl. She wasn't the one to cry and cry and cry in search of sympathy. No one was at fault for Jamie's death and Judith knew very well that her sister didn't want her ruining her summer at camp by wailing around. No, everyone expected more from Judith. And, that's what she intended on doing as she brushed her way passed Hollie. She, of all people, was not going to ruin Judith's summer. And that was a promise held at heart.

It wasn't long until Lucas came running past her, snapping pictures as he went. "Yo red head, long time no see right? Smile pretty pretty, wonderful, perfect, love them, you work it girl," Judith stuck her tongue out mockingly at the same time he caught a picture of her before taking off, and shouting over his shoulder, "See you later, Judie."

She watched him leave, smiling to herself. So far it was beginning to turn out to be a great summer for her. All her friends were here, and especially the jar of peanut butter she managed to sneak out of the house despite her allergies seemed even glorious. If only Colton was around. Judith turned around half expecting him to pop out of nowhere, but when he didn't she turned her attention back in front of her and immediately caught sight of a familiar face-Dylan, or Diddles as she often teased him. He was with Theo and Lucas, as usual, and to her surprise he returned the stare. As he did, she couldn't help herself but get that eerie feeling in her stomach that always irked her at times whenever he was around.

It was confusing. He confused her in a way that left her even more intrigued by him. However, she was the first to break the ties; feeling completely dubious as she did so, and instead turned her attention elsewhere onto Colton who came stepping out from the bush.

"Colton!" She beamed with excitement. Seeing his face always seemed to make her happy.

"Hollie."

Hollie had taken a total of two steps away from Judith, not even bothering to hear her reply, though she doubted the girl would have answered anyway. Why would she? They weren't friends, she didn't owe Hollie an answer and in return the fake red head didn't care enough to even listen. That was when she heard her name, catching her off guard as she quickly tried to turn towards the voice. Unluckily her heels did not have the same idea and she stumbled slightly, her foot landing in a patch of drying mud as she caught herself regaining her footing. She grimaced as she quickly brought her foot away from the brown mush a frown on her face. The only thing she hated more than dirt was mud. Why she decided to come to camp every year, one that was surrounded by woods and dirt was a total mystery. One of the many weird mysteries and bizarre things Hollie did.

Letting out a hiss, she bit her lip as she tried to wipe the gross substance off her pink shoe and onto the grass only to no avail. Setting here eyes with a glare, Hollie turned to yell at the person who had startled her, only to see Lucas kneeling with a camera pointed at her.

The mean and nasty expression she usually wore slid off her face as she smiled for the pictures turning so he could get her "good" side.

"You're going to let me see those before you print them out, right?" Hollie asked raising her eyebrow as she watched Lucas jump to his feet, he didn't seem to hear her as he took off in another direction saying a farewell to her. "At least delete the ugly ones!" She called after him watching as he stopped in front of new people. Rolling her eyes she turned to Liam who despite looking identical to his brother alway seemed cuter to Hollie.

"Ah thanks Liam." She smiled genuinely at his compliment before glancing down at her muddy shoe. "I stepped in mud and these are new, they are going to be a pain to clean." She sighed tucking hair behind her ear before her eyes flickered up to meet his again.

"Well I guess as good as school can get." She gave a small laugh at his slight stutter, not in the mean condescending way, but more along the lines of a girlish giggle as she laughed along with him. Her brown eyes watched him drop his stuff off.

"Definitely not, I absolutely hate this camp." She answered bitterly responding to his question as she studied the area around her hatefully. "I don't know why I keep coming back...hmm maybe it's to see you." She winked playfully at him before lightly pinching his cheek. "Well aren't you the gentlemen." Handing him one of her rolling suitcases she headed towards her cabin opening the door and stepping in. She placed her bag to the side and glanced around the cabin. "Well thanks, I really needed the help. Do you need any help, I know you had quite a bit?"

If it had been anyone else she would have never offered to help. In fact she wouldn't have even said thank you. The best she would have done was shove her suitcase at them without insulting them. But Liam was her friend, one of the only people who could tolerate her, and despite as much as she would deny it, she liked having friends. There was no way she was going to scare them off with her bad attitude.

Colton eyes scanned the people and area around him as he desperately searched for Judith, trying to keep his eyes from wandering back to Theo. As far as he was concerned, as long as he didn't see the tall boy he wouldn't see him. He could still feel his eyes slowly inching there way to Theodore's as he looked over each face.

"Hey Colton!" A familiar voice rang out giving Colton the excuse he needed to stare at the boy he had been trying to avoid. As he turned around he could finally clearly make out Theo's blue eyes, the ones that he always thought he could drown in if he stared too long.

The tall boy takes a step forward, hand in a wave, and Colton raises his hand to bite the inside of his thumb(a nervous habit he's always had), as he tries to work out a decision in his head. He continues to watch Theodore as a wild debate goes off in his head, as he argues over if he should turn and run or slowly slip away, but no maybe he'll stay and let Theo walk towards him and embrace him. It would be nice and it was definitely harder now that they were looking at each other to turn away. It doesn't matter though because the tall boy makes the decision for both of them as he stops giving the wild haired boy a smile that just spells friendly.

Colton waves back awkwardly his hand barely raising into the air as stares at Dylan and Theo. The two turn back around and Colton pushes hair away from his face letting out a low relived sigh.

"Fuck." He mutters shaking his head as his eyes trace over Theo's body. He catches sight of a vaguely familiar boy his camera still raised, and Colton hopes he hadn't taken a picture of his stunt in the bushes, but he can tell by the angle of the camera that he probably did.

He turns away, back on his hunt for Judith, halfway happy that Theo didn't approach him and the other half disappointed. The friendly smile kind of irks him, but what had he expected? Especially after he had blatantly ignored the boy and was still avoiding him. It wasn't like Theo should be tackling him to get his attention, Colton wasn't that special. Besides Theodore had a number of men and women who Colton was sure would be happy to spend just one night with the blue eyed heartthrob. He couldn't expect him to wait forever, especially if he never planned on talking to him again. Plus it was just like Theodore with his nice and caring nature to do as he wanted, abiding by his wish of staying away from him.

"Colton!"

Colton turned, a smile already on his face as his eyes finally landed on the red head he had been searching for. Momentarily forgetting about his boy troubles.

His face mirrored Judith's and they shared their excitement as he ran to her gathering her into his arm as he hugged her, lifting her off the ground and swinging her around once. He gave her a light squeeze before drawing back slightly a somber expression over taking his features.

"I'm sorry." He apologized in a whisper. Even though he didn't say exactly what he was apologizing for he was pretty sure Judith would understand. When she had lost her sister he had called and tried to be there, but not nearly as much as he could have and for that he was sorry. Placing a brotherly type of kiss on her forehead he released her from his arms completely.

"Now I hate to cut our PDA short, but is that Ben over there? We should go say hi." Linking his elbow through her's he began practically dragging her toward the boy who he was so inconspicuously playing a wing man for.

So, it's the first day at Merrie-Woode, right? The campers had a chance to reunite with their peers, if new they got a look around camp, and even met with their campmate(s) whom they may or may not like. But that's just life. Now enough with the blah-blah stuff, It's time to start the day off right. The staff at Merrie-Woode have a list of plans for all the fellow campers. Those of who will follow obediently with a smile planted on their faces which indicate the meaning of being a "happy" camper, and there are others who will use their stay at Merrie-Woode as an advantage to only cause chaos. Hint, hint, the staff has their eyes close on three stooges that are known for causing great catastrophes: Elias Addiks, Dylan Negovanlis, Theodore Matthews. With the likes of Cassandra Bennett hoeing around. May these four (delinquents..) be surveillance.

The dining hall is where we lay our scene, each camper are (hopefully) enjoying their breakfast; scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, and stacks on stacks of pancakes. Since there's only eight minutes left, Mr.McDonnell has decided to make an announcement of who is in what group and with who for our Color War activity, thus giving each of them a map of Merrie-Woode:

"The yellow group includes campers Cassandra Bennett, Hollie Knight, and Charlotte Van Der Deen.

The orange group includes campers Mackenzie Irving, Theodore Matthews, Ben Hartly, and Colton Nobel.

The blue group includes campers Judith Ahlström, Lucas Woods, and Dylan Negovanlis.

The green group includes campers Elias Addicks, Liam Woods, and Ashleigh Smythe.

The red group includes campers Johnathon O'briens, Alicia Morales, and Sophia Stanford.

The purple group Ciana Moore, Brooklyn Harrison, and Kit Grimshaw.

Now attention all campers. Whether or not you like any of your teammates, we are to be respectful and work as a group. Today's color war activity is Capture The Flag. Each team is given at least three riddles that each pertain to where the color of your flag is located. It can be anywhere for example, in the dressers, in the toilet, etcetera. The team who has collected their total of three flags, and report back to the drama station wins. Have fun. And remember to always be a happy camper at Camp Merrie-Woode!"

Getting to his cabin had been like a gift from the stars. He was bunked with Theo, which was a little strange to him because he figured the camp would have learned their lesson by now. Dylan wasn't there, which was the disappointment of his life, but they'd figure out some kind of arrangement later. No way being in different cabins was going to ruin the three's fun. The other person in their cabin was Ben, whom he didn't know awfully well, but had seen around and talked to a bit in the four years they had both been attending camp. Amidst Theo's and Eli's animated talking, he did his best to not lose himself in the conversation and isolate Ben. He wasn't sure how well he did, but he hoped it was enough to not make him seem like a total prick.

Despite plans to keep Theo up all night some way or another--childish pranks were his forte-- he had actually ended up hitting the pillow a lot earlier than he had planned. It was probably the drive, exhausting. Eli had never been a morning person, and to say he was groggy when he was woken up at first is a bit of an understatement. Once he got to the dining hall and had some food in his stomach though, there was a radical change. Back was the loud, laughing Elias that the camp staff hated. He stole two or three pancakes off of Theo's plate when he wasn't looking, smiling innocently when the other's gaze landed back on him. "Als de kat van huis is, dansen de muizen op tafel," he mumbled through a mouthful of pancakes with an obnoxious smile. When the cat goes away, the mice dance on the table.

The team assignments came a little later. After casting a quick glance around the room and locating one of his teammates, he said goodbye to his table and maneuvered his way through the crowd to get to the bench he was looking for. On the way over, he snatched a leftover sausage from one of the plates and popped it in his mouth. "Yo," he said, sliding in next to Liam, "how's it hanging? Seen Ashleigh around yet?"

Waking up in the morning was hard. Alicia had been up late last night, breaking charcoal stick after charcoal stick in her attempt to fully complete this one sketch she had started earlier that day. It seemed like an easy enough project when she initially thought of it, but the highlights had proved to be more difficult than she'd thought. And after a long night staying up all night bent over her sketchpad and scribbling away furiously, she had the worst crick in her neck. Alicia's family was one of early birds, and she had inherited that trait, but not even genetics could save her from the numerous yawns that escaped her mouth the next morning. At least she could be happy about her cabinmate. The girl, Charlotte she had learned, seemed to be strangely on the same wavelength on her. They hadn't spoken much at all that night, each scribbling away in their sketchbooks, but Alicia came away with the feeling that she could definitely like this person. She hadn't gotten the chance to take a look in her sketchbook, but she definitely wanted to see what her bunkmate was up to.

Breakfast was a relief. Luckily, there was coffee, which helped her get her head in order. She chose to sit next to Charlotte, seeing both Judith and Elias enjoying themselves at their own table. Again, they didn't speak to each other, and this time, at least in her opinion, the silence definitely carried a hint of awkwardness. Several times she tried to come up with an adequate conversation starter in her mind, shutting herself down each time. Eventually teams were assigned for some kind of capture the flag activity. Except this one involved riddles. She immediately thought of the places the riddles indicated. A black and white ball. That had to be soccer, right? Meaning their first spot was probably the athletics fields. Horses definitely meant the riding pen, and the oars had to mean a canoe, which meant the lake. Hoping to find their team's flag quickly so she could get the uncomfortable social game over with, she looked around for one of her teammates.

Locating one of them, this Jonathon fellow, pretty quickly, she decided to work her way over to him. She tended to be observant, staying in the back of the crowd with sharp eyes and listening ears, so she knew who each of her teammates were. She figured they wouldn't know her, of course, given that she rarely attempted to speak to people. Eventually, she found herself sitting next to him, her hands on the table and a slightly nervous smile on her face. "Hey, I'm Alicia," she said, with a quick lift of her hand indicative of a wave. Then, as though remembering she had said her name with a distinct Spanish accent not many people could replicate, she hurriedly followed her statement with, "But you can just call me Alice. I think we're on the same team." She knew they were on the same team, but being able to distinguish a person's face from a crowd when they've never met you before tended to come off as strange, and that wasn't the first impression she wanted to make. "So, any ideas?" she asked, with a quick run of her hand through the mess of curls atop her head.

Despite the previous days' unfortunate run-in with Colton and the atrocity that was Dylan and he being in different cabins, Theo's night isn't bad. Actually, he would go so far as to say it was great. Elias and he were bunked together, so naturally they sat and talked for forever, or at least until Elias passed out. There other roommate, Ben, was a kid Theo also knew. A kid that had a reputation with him for ended up in the infirmiry. It was like anytime they went out to do something fun, the next day Theo could find him there, almost guaranteed. After a while he stopped asking about it, maybe he was just really clumsy. The thought doesn't occur to Theo that it could, in fact, be his fault.

None of them stayed up incredibly late, he doesn't think. The only thing that has Theo going to sleep before dawn was the idea that he might be able to corner, er, talk to Colton tomorrow, and he didn't want to be a zombie for it. Not that Theo ever really got tired... he acted a lot like the energizer bunny, or maybe the little train that could, because it didn't matter how many (or how few) hours of sleep he was running on, he was always ready to the next party that he could bring life to. Naturally he's up earlier than everyone the next morning, having actually gone to sleep at a normal time, and he goes for a shirtless run even though it's a little chilly, because who needs clothes?

After a quick shower and ten minutes to pull out clothes and get dressed, it was time for breakfast. There was no question as to who he was going to sit with, because the moment he laid eyes on Dylan he had found his breakfast buddy. Well, make that a breakfast trio, but it was already pretty obvious that Elias and he would be sitting together. The 2/3s of their trio that were bunked together were both back to their usual antics, Theo friendly and funny and all things nice, Elias loud and laughing, with him around Theo never had to worry about if his jokes were going to be funny or not, he would probably laugh either way (even if it was at him, rather than the shitty joke).

It's not long before the camp director enters that there is a horrible tragedy. Theo looks over at Elias, wide eyes expression his hurt, bottom lip stuck out as he pouted. Something is said in Dutch and he doesn't understand it in the slightest, but he's quick enough to throw back his own French retort. "Enfoiré." Fucker. But a second later Theo is turning and stealing a pancake off of Dylan's plate, and all is well in the world once again. It doesn't take much to make Theo happy.

After the announcement of teams, Theo finds himself staring dumbly at the still half-full plate in front of him, no longer hungry in the slightest. The butterflies that had so recently started to calm down got ten thousand times worse than they were yesterday. He glanced over to Dylan with a nervous expression and sheepish smile. "Looks like the non-existent gods are on our side today, huh?" The brunette sighs, kisses his palm then slaps it on Dylan's cheek, and pushes away from the table to bound over to where he's seen Colton with Judith and some of those other type (if Ben was at the table with Dylan/Elias/Theo then he probably dragged him there too (; ).

"Hey Colt, other ones." He winks at those still hanging around, acting like this wasn't going to be the most difficult day of his life. "Seen Mackenzie?"

Breakfast was never an appealing time of day, not for Mackenzie at all.

It just made her think of all the times she was called fat, useless and the sorts. She used the cafeteria to just sit down and reflect on yesterday. As soon as she got on, she forced on a smile for her photo because it was either that, or being the odd thumb and not having a picture at all. Though hers would obviously be the worst looking one there, the horse faced child could never smile properly.

She got to see Judith again, she found out they were room mates. It was a pleasant surprise, she liked Judith compared to some of the other campers. The brunette never saw what was wrong with Judith, as other people called her horrible names. Personally, she liked Judith more than any other camper she knew here. She was glad Judith actually reciprocated her feelings, honestly she wasn't even sure if she could room with anyone else here without them saying something that would make her want to do something horrid to them.

But after dwelling on her thoughts for too long, her eyes darted up to look up to one of the camps instructors: Mr. McDonnell, he told them that colour wars was going to happen, which meant that the girl had to be put in a group and well, socialise. She hated these games because of her innate lack of communication and listening skills. That's why any team she's put in would never win. Though she wasn't openly expressing herself as others were, though it was funny.

"The orange group includes campers Mackenzie Irving, Theodore Matthews and Colton Nobel."

"Great." She muttered to herself, she knew them from the last time they were at camp. But being Mackenzie Irving, she never socialised with them so it was hard to know whether they'd get along or not. It shouldn't be too hard to find them all. The brunette thought she might as well find the group now, she got up from the table she sat on and went to find the boys, yes, she was the only girl in that group. A group full of boys she barely even knew.

When the girl did get round to finding them, she took a deep breath pointing down with a finger as she decided to find out if she was in the right place. "Hey, this is the orange group, right?" She asked, three boys, they were the only group with four people so this should make sense. The only reason she liked this group so far was because her favourite colour was orange.

Kit liked yesterday, liked his morning, liked his food. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, it reminds hi of what his mother makes at home, though hers is better in his opinion but he gulfed it down happily. The male was happily reunited with good friends like Theo and Ben, as well as finding out that Cassandra was here too. Thinking about that made his heart skip a few beats.

He was roomed with Colton Nobel, who is a pretty sweet guy actually. Although he includes a lot of profanity in some of his sentences, which is not pleasant to hear. But overall, he can't complain. Kit was one who liked to get his rest so he tended to sleep as soon as it got really dark and it benefited him actually. He woke up not actually being too tired.

While he gulfed his food down happily. Then his eyes averted up as McDonnell talked about the first activity of the week, colour wars. He took a deep breath and turned when a young red headed girl somewhat gagged on her orange juice. He chuckled a little to himself, quietly so no-one can hear him.

"The purple group includes campers Ciana Moore, Ben Hartley, and Kit Grimshaw.

"Ciana.. and Brooklyn." He muttered to himself, trying to remember those names in his head. "I'm looking for the purple team" He called out to see if anyone would respond to him. He hoped people knew Kit was him, he was glad the camp called him Kit though, Christopher was too long for him and it never did feel like he was a 'Christopher', he's always referred to himself as Kit since birth.

The male continued to look around the dining hall for his team mates to find out where they were.

A yawn escaped Colton's lips as he sat up in bed, running a hand through his tangled bed head.

Yesterday hadn't been as bad as he expected. It went rather well, no awkward conversation with Theo, Judith didnt seem the slightest bit upset with him for his lack of friendship and he hadn't died from walking in the heat. So far so good.

Colton raised his arms above his head as he began to stretch, checking his phone for the time. It was earlier than he had expected, he had always been a rather early riser, but it seemed pretty early even for him. Maybe he was restless and had a lot on his mind, this was his last year after all. Tip toeing out of his bed, Colton quickly got ready before grabbing his camera and stepping out into the morning air. Now was the perfect time to take pictures, the lighting was beautiful and it would look gorgeous the way it shined off the trees. Colton whistled, trying to make some sound the morning quietness getting on his nerves.

Snapping a picture Colton checked it out on the camera. Frowning slightly he deleted it before trying again, he couldn't seem to get the right angle, maybe he would ask Lucas how he got the heavenly angles he did. He and Lucas had hit it off almost instantly. They had ended up in the cabin after all the greetings with friends and he had asked Colton about one of his cameras. Boom they clicked, talking for at least two hours about different cameras and their love for photography.

Kit also seemed pretty cool. They hadn't talked to much, except for the exchange of hellos and names.

Rising his camera he was about to snap another photo when the steady sound of jogging feet filled his ears. There was only one person Colton knew who would be jogging this early. Theodore Matthews. Pressing himself against the tree he tried to hide behind the trunk. Don't see me he chanted to himself as he watched a shirtless Theo come into view.

Great there went his picture time, he was so not going to be caught with Theo alone. Letting out a sigh he slowly walked back to his cabin, he could always take pictures from the safety of his cabin.

As he sat on his bed waiting for the others to wake up, he realized there was no way he would be able to avoid Theo no matter how hard he tried. Maybe he should just talk to him, and maybe they could become friends. Things could go back to how they use to be when they were young boys. It was fun then, no worries and nothing but laughs stupid dares and pranks. It could be him, Theo, Elias, and Dylan like it once was. Back when he and Theo were just friends.

No. There was no way they could ever be just friends again. Not after everything they had been through. Even when they were boys Colton had always felt something for the blue eyed boy who always put others before himself. There was no way Colton could stand just being friends, exchanging friendly smiles and watching as Theo found someone else. No matter how difficult it was and annoying he would just continue to hide and avoid.

When everyone had finally woken up, Colton trudged over to the dinning hall feeling deflated. He slowly ate his breakfast picking at it mostly and periodically letting out sighs. Glancing over at Theo's table he noticed the laughing and joking they were doing, like they had no care in the world.

Colton stuck out his bottom lip. That was no fair, Theo was having the time of his life and he was stuck over here being the complete opposite. Then again why shouldn't he be, it was Colton who started the mess. Sitting up straight Colton sucked his bottom lip into his mouth. Starting now he was going to have fun. This was his happy place and dammit he was going to be happy. Taking a huge bite of his pancake he chewed with determination before swallowing it.

Colton laughed lightly at Judith's comment. "You know we could always protest, signs and everything." He smiled at her before turning at the sound of Mr.McDonnell voice. He explained what they would be doing, calling out the groups. Colton's eyes widened as the color drain from his cheeks. "Shit." He muttered glancing over at Judith horrified, and patting her back as she began choking on her orange juice. It was there lucky day.

None of this was going according to plan, he was suppose to avoid Theo and have fun, not be stuck with him all day.

"Hey Colt, other ones." Colton shivered involuntarily as he heard Theo's voice.

Be happy, this is fun Colton reminded himself before turning to Theo. His dull less attractive eyes instantly met blue ones. Colton stared at him dumbly trying to think of a response as the butterflies dancing in his stomach laughed at him. He bit his lip as he continued to stare, a slight awkwardness filling the air a the longest of the eye contact and no speaking. Damn he wanted to apologize so bad, he wanted to spill his feelings, instead he awkwardly nodded a couple times letting out a fake cough.

"Hey Theo it's been so fucking long." He didn't understand why he had to curse in that sentence, or why he couldn't have just replied with a hey. He literally had probably said the worst thing, he had seen the guy yesterday. Plus Theo had been trying to talk to him since summer camp had ended last year. The reason they hadn't seen each other was because of the fact that he had been ignoring him.

"Seen Mackenzie?" As if on cue a brunette appeared who he assumed was Mackenzie. Colton pointed to her tearing his eyes away from Theo as she asked if she was in the right group.

"Yep, welcome to the winning team. Now does anyone know what the hell these riddles are talking about?" Colton responded trying to change the subject and calm his blush.

When morning came Dylan was still sleeping, snoring lightly against his pillow until some rusting from his cabin mates woke him up just in time. Upon opening his eyes, the little bit of sun that came through the cabin windows seemed to burn Dylan's eyes and earn an audible groan from the young man. " Ugh, sun I bloody command you to go back to sleep." he groaned turning over. Being introduced to his cabin mates yesterday sure was a bit exhausting with all the introductions and everything but Dylan thought they were both alright even though he may confuse Liam for Lucas sometimes and even if he was a bit envious of Johnathon's wolfy look. He was still a bit bummed that he wasn't bunked with Theo but he'd get over it soon enough.

His stomach grumbled loudly finally making him get out of bed to take his quick cool shower along with getting dressed afterwards. Now smelling like lavender Dylan shoved a few things into his messenger bag and was the last to leave the cabin for breakfast. Upon arriving, Dill greeted some people with his usual jokes and smiles before grabbing his seat and filling his plate with a little bit of everything, except sausage. There was something about it that made his stomach do flops, he use to eat it all the time but one day it just sat wrong in his stomach and from then on his stomach has never agreed with it since. He nibbled on his bacon and stuffed his mouth with eggs when Theo came over. "Top o’ the mornin’ to ya beautiful. " Dylan smiled at Theo before hiding behind him as he flicked a piece of pancake at Elias then failing at fending off Theo from taking one of his pancakes.

When Mr.McDonnell came in with his microphone and announced the teams, Dylan looked up at him with his mouth filled with pancakes making his cheeks look like that of a chipmunks. Surprise was noticeable on his face. Just the thought of being teamed up with Judith made his stomach twist in odd ways mostly out of excitement and nervousness. Swallowing hard Dill sipped his cranberry juice to help the food go down smoother before he took a deep breathe. "Looks like the non-existent gods are on our side today, huh?" Dylan also pushed himself up from the bench after cleaning his mouth with a napkin and heading after Theo. "Unfortunately I guess they are."

Catching a seat next to Judith, Dylan flashed his genuine childish grin towards her. " Morning little red." he looked around noticing Judith's sister was nowhere to be found, he didn't see her yesterday either but he just thought that maybe she went to her cabin before Judith did or something like that. He would have asked about her but he didn't think this was the appropriate time so he'd ask later. Fiddling slightly with his bracelet, Dill thought it's now or never. " Psst, hey Judith I got you something over the winter." he whispered trying not to attract much attention since he wanted this moment to be a him and her thing. "Close your eyes." he whispered again with a smile and when she did what he said he pulled out this beautiful, handmade leather bound journal and placed it in her hands. " You can open them now, Theo, me and mom had gone to this flea market and I saw this. It reminded me of you and I know how you like to write. "

Smiling Dylan reached back into his bag and fumbled around in it a bit until he found what he was looking for. " See I bought one for myself too and it came with this bracelet attached to it." he lifted up the hand that had the bracelet on it before holding up one identical to his. By now Dylan had all but forgotten they were in a room filled with campers, to him it was just Judith and him right now. " It's suppose to be a charm for good dreams, I haven't taken mine off since I bought it and of course yours came with one also." he carefully took Judith's wrist into his hand and carefully put the bracelet around her slender wrist. " There that's a better looking wrist already." Dill joked light heartedly before he was snapped back into reality by Lucas.

"Okay, here's the plan, let's figure this out so we can beat my brother. Hi Judy, for real this time, and hi Dylan, don't really know you very well, but hi,"

Dylan stared at him dumbfounded for a whole second still trying to recover from what just happened and how he got through that without making a complete idiot of himself. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. "Ah, yeah h-hey Lucas, don't worry if you got my good side while taking those pictures yesterday I'm sure we'll be much closer by the end of the summer." he joked with his all too familiar goofy smile before they got back down to business.

"Ah the toilet, they have some guts putting it there, anyway I have no clue what the last one means but I can fetch the one in the toilet because honestly no lady should be sticking their hands in toilets." Dylan looked over at Judith then Lucas with his eyebrow raised as if he was saying am I right?

1. Ben Hartly is well known for ending up in the_______.
2. The _____ ______ is always prohibited to boys.
3. Archery is to field as basketball is to______.

Her eyes gazed at the riddles for a moment. The last two seemed quite easy, but you never knew with riddles. "I'm guessing that the second one is in the girls bathroom, or their cabins I suppose." The brunette mumbled to herself for the moment, unsure if the boys could here her go off on her rambling thoughts. The girl bit her lip for a moment as she thought about what the last one could be. "Basket ballers play in a court, as archers play in a field."

Mackenzie took a deep breath. "Don't take my word for it though, I'm merely guessing." The girl then added. She knew little to nothing about riddles. She hated them.

The first one though, that one puzzled her. She knew nothing about Ben Hartly and why they used him in the riddle, she had no real idea. "Where would this Ben Hartly end up?" She then asked, they must be serious about this. But Mackenzie knew nothing about Ben, and kept herself away from the outside world and the news it brought in. Mackenzie never let herself be known as a lamb to the slaughter.

She changed gaze and her orbs looked towards the map. Making sure she could find where exactly their maps were though practically, her directing skills weren't too good. This gave her a migraine somewhat.

"I so need a cigarette right now." Mackenzie then muttered to herself and rolled her eyes. Her fingers traced over her map, circling lightly the areas where they would need to go. She would definitely go to the girls' toilet as guys shouldn't really go in there, even if it were a game. She was taught that. Or maybe even to the court. Though she couldn't go two places at once. She felt quite proud of herself. Though if she was wrong, she'd be so annoyed.

Ben Hartly, she thought about this and her eyebrows furrowed. She wasn't even sure if she knew who he was. "Ben Hartly..." The girl thought aloud, long and hard. Mackenzie wasn't too competitive as a person, puzzles were annoying but there wasn't much else she can do right now.

Her head then lifted up and looked at the two boys, her eyebrow raising. Wondering what they thought about it.
