Mage from the Ferelden Cirlce; second cousin to Hawke et al.
Her obedience was learned as a result of attempting to survive. The more invisible she was to the templars at the Circle, the easier her life was. Ever-studious and quiet, she made few friends at the Circle but even fewer enemies - it's hard to have someone dislike you if they don't notice you. As she discovered with the decision to leave Kinloch Hold, however, she is very stubborn and strong-willed when necessary. Freedom gave her the room to acknowledge that she is more than a set of robes.
Basic leather armor including a breastplate, pants, and boots. She lacks gloves and wears a relatively tattered traveling cloak. Her staff resembles a weapon more than a mage's staff.
Beatrice Amell was once a member of the Ferelden Circle. Thinking it better to inform Irving of Jowan's plans than to risk her friend's life if he was caught, she betrayed Jowan to the First Enchanter only to find out that Jowan had, indeed, turned to blood magic. She still questions herself as to whether or not he would have used it if they hadn't been confronted upon leaving the cellar.
In the aftermath of Uldred's attempt to overthrow the Circle Beatrice took the chaos as a chance to escape. Traveling to her home of West Hill (a port city on the northern coast of Ferelden) she discovered that her parents were long-since dead and, with no more family in the country that she knew of, she made for Kirkwall as she remembered her father talking about family there when she was a young child. Beatrice's magical proficiency is with Creationism and healing, most of her spells defensive in nature.
