Description

Forrest Chamberlain

Image

Name: Forrest Terrance Chamberlain

Age: 26

Sex: Male

Height: 6”3

Weight: 163 lb

Role: Butler/ Manservant

~

Appearance:
Forrest’s eyes attract the most attention, a feature that tends to frame a person’s face in general: his bulbous irises contain a swirl of colour that is extremely pale gray, from a distance you would’ve believed he had no irises at all; just the pupils. They are then enhanced by a collision of thick eyelashes that delicately frame his large eyes. His button nose, soft jaw line and those plump lips give him an almost feminine touch. Although his is still clearly male. Many people assume he is several numbers younger than what he really is, fooled by the youthful appearance. The man has pale skin despite radiating a relatively healthy glow; he mysteriously maintains the exact shade even during the warmest of summers.

Forrest has beautiful silken brown hair, the colour of fresh pine, which reaches just beneath his neck. It falls in a gentle cascade of layers that part in such a way so his eyes can see: several locks rest over the bridge of his nose while the latter lay either side of his face.

Forrest is a slight fellow. His exterior looks seemingly normal, lean and quite fragile – frankly quite average. However, his attire disguises a reasonably muscular frame; chiselled abs, powerful calves and strong biceps. Unfortunately, Forrest rarely exposes any of this toned flesh; instead preferring the shape of suits, blazers, buttoned-up shirts and neatly pressed trousers. He tends to wear dark colours that harmonize with one another, usually a nice vivid colour – such as a deep navy – combined with black. How he does love black.

~

Attitude: Forrest does one thing best and that is to listen and obey, he understands his position in life and plays it well. He doesn’t see himself as a leader-like character, preferring to wait on his knees for the next order (although, not always literally). Some may see this trait as masochistic, but he enjoys spending his time like this; aware that what he is doing is not in vain and useful for once. However, he is prepared to help those who may need or want it. If someone needs help, he will help them. Forrest is kind, generous and considerate. He has a brilliantly short temper – although he can get annoyed at times - and his patience can stretch for yards. The man has a decent memory and has the knack of scouring through a building before he is ready to work in it. A gentle smile is often planted on his lips; most people feel calm and relaxed while around him. Fortunately, the man has a sense of humour and will chuckle politely when the situation calls for it. Forrest doesn’t mind acting cheeky at times either, it doesn't hurt to tease.

Forrest’s loyalty for his masters is undeniable and undefeatable. He will willingly risk his life if necessary. As long as they are people of respectability, he will anticipate anything thrown at him. Those who mistreat his mistresses and masters will be punished severely, no questions asked. He will immediately change face at these times: the gleam in his eyes darken, his usual smile twists into a grimace and his aura changes; intent on killing. He also has the knack of abruptly switching between the two, making his presence oddly chilling.

Likes:
Obeying his masters and making them happy. Forrest was trained to love and care for his clients, and he does just that.
Keeping busy. There is nothing else to do, unless he has a command hovering over his head.
Organization. How he despises an unkempt room. His hands will immediately grow a need to just tidy and clean every inch until it’s spotless.
Dark colours such as black. Forrest finds a certain comfort about them, they aren’t as blinding as white.

Dislikes:
X Being hurried. Forrest prefers to do things at his own pace, although he does finish things at a relatively fast rate.
X Enemies of his masters. They do not like them therefore he does not like them.
X Untidy areas. With the deepest loathing.

Habits:
~ Tidying! He has a serious OCD when it comes to angles and overall cleanliness. He wants a room to be gleaming when he leaves it.
~ Twitching at random intervals. Remaining still is not a forte of his.
~ Switching personalities. You wouldn’t want to be within the vicinity whenever he gets angry, trust me.

Greatest Fear:
~ His masters disliking him. How it makes his backbone tingle.
~ Not doing his job right. This is rare, although it does fill him with dread at the thought.

~

History:
Not much is known about the man, although any traces of his background seem clean. We know that he was born and raised in England and then from a very young age he started training as a butler (presumably in an academy) before travelling across the globe in search for reliable jobs. Each clients share a positive opinion of how he works. However, he never stays in one household too long.

~

Other:
~ Forrest is an excellent cook, but he usually leaves that job for the chefs.
~ The man is a practiced martial artist, he is a master in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, MMA and Judo. He fights with lightning speed and can easily outlast an opponent.
~ He has a voice that can only be described as velvety, enhanced by a rich British accent. Although he speaks with a gentle and quiet tone, each word can be heard clearly. He harbours the potential to silence a room.

So begins...

Forrest Chamberlain

The man had seen many impressive houses in his lifetime; the one in front of him was no exception. As he leaned on the wrought iron gate, he folded his arms and looked up at the manor; nodding his brunette head in approval. His pale eyes expressed nonchalance. One could not deny the sheer size of the building, and Forrest could not help but speculate how many rooms it contained and how long it would take to travel the whole perimeter. Would they be even using all of the rooms? He wondered. Perhaps not. The man had heard many rumours of the Ravie Household, but he had paid no heed to them. Despite the shady background, they seemed respectable and besides, a job was a job. No mention of parents or guardians? So what. If it is only the children, it must just mean they did a good job.

Forrest licked his lips before pushing himself off the gate. He glanced at the rusty iron forlornly; that would need taken care of immediately. The manor looked to be in a similar state, beaten down and dull, he couldn't help but shake his head; ruffling those layers. No wonder they needed workers. However, there was something about the manor that nerved him, he just couldn't put his finger on it. He brushed off his silken blue blazer thoroughly, before pulling up his white tie and knocking off any dirt from his shoes. A neatly folded flyer in his grasp, he strolled through the driveway; the tread of gravel emitting no noticeable sound.

While approaching the house, he saw a small group already gathering. It seemed that a few other people had applied for the job as well. A few black-headed children stood in the doorway, one small girl stood foremost which Forrest assumed was the eldest of the Ravie siblings. She looked busy with the two girls in front of him. Forrest decided to linger behind and wait; his hands resting at his sides and his foot tapping patiently; his focus elsewhere as he examined the rest of the manor. From a distance he caught the whiff of eggs and tea, they were just having breakfast. Some of them were just waking up as he heard small children clambering down the stairs. However, he smelled the musky scent of dust which immediately made the edge of his lip twitch.

Alec walked back to the doorway, his fingers curled around the handle of a cup of tea that he'd been drinking before he heard his brother and sister come down the stairs. He arrived in time to hear Maddie asking where he was. Alec smiled warmly and patted her head with his free hand. "Here I am!" he said cheerily, flashing her a toothy grin. "I put some jam and biscuits on a plate for your breakfast, though you have Ellie to thank for preparing the meal" Alec told her, his eyes shifting over to the man that had arrived. He seemed to be waiting behind, probably waiting for Ellie to finish with her current conversation. He bent down to reach Maddie's level, "You know that man over there," he said, pointing to him, "He seems like a nice man, but it's the nice ones you gotta watch out for. I'd recommend staying away from him".

Of course he was only teasing her, but it'd be funny to make Forrest think that people were avoiding him. He didn't have to saying anything to Johnathon because he knew he had no interest in the help anyway, that'd make his task a whole lot easier. He squeezed past Ellie and the other two, only to make his way over to Forrest and hold out his free hand. "Welcome to the Ravie household, my name is Alec. I know what you're thinking, the house could use a bit of work, but I suppose that's why you're here" Alec greeted the man, "I was only informed this morning that we would be getting new workers, so I didn't even have time to have a small tidy up myself", his tone was somewhat sorrowful, though it was backed up by lies and jokes. Alec would never clean, not when he'd grown up with people doing everything for him, it was just the way he was raised. Selfish, ignorant, spoilt.

Ellie's head was spinning slightly, all the people and activity making her slightly nervous, but happy nonetheless. Squeezing Johnathon back, she kissed his cheek before standing tall and looking at all the others. Taking a small breath, she cleared her throat and announced to the crowd.

"Please, everyone, calm down! If you're here for the job, kindly follow me to the sitting room. Alec, take care of the children, get them breakfast and tea, and remind them to brush their teeth. I'll be back soon. Everyone, please, follow me." Smiling kindly, she strode away from the fray towards the sitting room and perched in a fancy armchair, crossing her legs and flicking her dark hair over her shoulder.

Forrest Chamberlain

Was that sarcasm he had just heard? The man gazed at the boy indifferently for a few seconds, it was hard to differentiate this look as a penetration of the child's very soul or merely a searching glance. Despite his age, he was already one inch taller than Forrest himself, they were practically the same height and stood directly opposite one another. This Alec boy - the man decided - was the one to be aware of. After a moment's silence, Forrest's face abruptly broke into a warm smile and his eyes crinkled.

"It is my pleasure, Mr. Ravie." He replied, he took Alec's hand and shook it loosely; the smile still plastered on his face. He assessed the old manor once more, "Indeed, that's why I am here.
Once Forrest had let go of the boy's hand, he pocketed the flyer and placed his own gloved ones behind his back. What had he told that little girl back then?
He chuckled quietly. "Of course not, sir. Afterall, that is my job."
It was obvious that he had not done any cleaning in his teenage life. Who had the role of cleaning the house before they flyers had been posted? Just the girl? Surely not.

"Please, everyone, calm down! If you're here for the job, kindly follow me to the sitting room. Alec, take care of the children, get them breakfast and tea, and remind them to brush their teeth. I'll be back soon. Everyone, please, follow me." Forrest tilted his head to look at the girl who had just shouted.
His attention shifted back to Alec. "Mistress is calling. I assume this means goodbye, for now." He muttered, before bowing his head towards the boy and following his sister inside, behind the two other girls. While walking through the corridor, he slipped off one of his gloves and ran a finger across the wall. He stared at the dirt, disapprovingly. The previous workers either did not do a good job or it had been some time since they had left.

Ellie rubbed her hands together nervously and exhaled, watching the group of potential workers, though her mind was in the kitchen, stroking Johnathon's hair and making sure Maddie ate all her breakfast, trying to force Alec to be nice to the children with gentle comments and soft looks. She shivered under his gaze now, fear whispering in her ear and wrapping around her throat, fear that he had forgotten who she was, how much she loved him. Forgotten by her sibling...her hands began to quake at the thought, though she folded them in her lap to stay still, and looked at the applicants.

The first one to arrive, Leena, she had said, was a very nice girl, sweet, and classically pretty, with her long red hair. Having more girls in the house wouldn't exactly help, but more girls her age would make her smile. The second girl, who spoke with broken English, seemed a bit timid, but she was lovely nonetheless. Having older forces would help, it might make Alec straighten up a bit. And then there was the man...he was very pretty, beautiful, for a man. Breathtaking. That would certainly set Alec off, but it would be good to have a bit more masculinity in the household.

Smiling softly, Ellie wondered if everyone would be happy, the workers since they would all be receiving jobs, the children since there would be other people to help out besides herself. The familiar twinge of fear crept into her throat, but she shook her head gently to rid the thought, and decided to instead focus on what needed to be done. Sixteen, and far too grown up for her own good.

Forrest Chamberlain

It seemed the deeper the man delved into the manor, the more excited he felt inside. Forrest found a certain thrill in hard work that no other person could possibly do. As he continued to trail behind the line, a sudden weight collided with his right thigh. He was vaguely surprised to see a black-haired child brushed against his leg, the boy looked stick-thin and fragile.
"Careful, little Master." The man muttered under his breath, his expression softened. Forrest only managed to catch a glimpse of the child's face before he sped off in the direction of the kitchen, not bothering to check who he bumped into. His eyes were two different colours, one was a icy blue while the other was an intense purple

Once entering into the large sitting room, he sat himself down onto a sofa; his legs crossed and his hands folded within each other. While getting himself comfortable, the man used the time to evaluate the two other workers among them. The first was a young girl with deep crimson hair, Forrest could feel an air of defiance surrounding her. He could've been nearly twice her age, she looked to be the same age as the eldest Ravie child, and yet they were applying for the same job. He hoped she worked well with others. Closer to him was the second worker who looked around his own age, she was taller than an average woman and her dark complexion suggested she originated from somewhere exotic. She seemed timid and humble.

He was listening to her broken english, curious, when he saw a child burst into the room and crash into his sister's lap. Forrest instantly recognised him as the boy with heterochromia who had bumped into him earlier. The man continued to watch him while he was being scolded lightly by the girl. There was something about this child that grabbed his attention, but he couldn't quite figure out what. In fact, there was something off about the household in general. Perhaps, those rumours were true.

What nonsense.

Remaining silent, he observed the girl as she kissed the child's forehead and answered the foreign woman's question.
"Our parents are... very busy. They cannot always be available, and are often away on business. They've left me in charge of the house, as I am the eldest here. While working here, you will answer to all children, but most importantly me. I hope that will not be a problem for you."
She was extremely mature for her age, no-one could deny that. Then again, she must've learned to be like that, now that she was in charge. The girl had been forced to grow up, Forrest respected her for that. It would be easy to accept her as his new Mistress, although it would be slightly more difficult to do the same with Alec. Questions tumbled in his cranium about these parents. What kind of business must they do to leave their children?

Alex saw the boy who she thought she could break by saying the wrong word enter the room, sadden by his brother. She had delt with conflict before, her siblings were full of it, and she was the one who delt with it, she was the eldest. The eldest Ravine girl told him to bahve, but kindly before she turned back to Alex. "Our parents are... very busy. They cannot always be available, and are often away on business. They've left me in charge of the house, as I am the eldest here. While working here, you will answer to all children, but most importantly me. I hope that will not be a problem for you."

This confused her, they were just kids, how could their parents leave them, even though the girl seemed very mature, she still worried. Although, this was the only place she could work, as no one else would hire her. "It fine miss Ravine." She said, and bowed a tiny bit to show respect, and she wondered how much she would be paid. She hoped it would be enough to let her stay in town long enough to formula a plan to return.

She turned her attention to the man who seemed to be trying for a job as well. He seemed kind, not to mention he spoke very formally, but she had learned from experience not to trust a man because he spoke well. She made sure to move away from him, just out of survival instinct, but and got close to the boy with two different color eyes.

"You know, I didn't like my brother either." She started, she wanted to make some conection with the boy, he had shot her a look like he didn't like her, and she didn't like people not liking her. "He would steal my dolls, but I got over because I love him, and I got bigger. We got to make you bigger, maybe play or later we have sweets, if alright with your sister." She said, addressing his weight issue, or rather the fact he was around the size of a dog she had growing up. "I Alex, nice to meet you." She said, leaning down, and put out her hand to shake his, and had a smile on her face.

Johnathon stepped back from Alex with a little animosity towards her. "I don't like you, but my sister Maddie might. She's in the kitchen." Johnathon replied to the girl. With nothing more to say to her, he moved away from her and turned to the other man. He hadn't said a word. He grabbed the man's pants and said to him in a quiet tone, "You haven't said anything... I don't like that. You haven't even said your name... We welcome you into our home, and you say nothing." Johnathon narrowed his eyes a bit, feeling suspicious about this character. He didn't say anything. It bothered Johnathon. He tugged on his pants a bit harder, moving the man and said, "Say something."

Johnathon flinched, hearing his sister shout his name with a harshness that Johnathon wasn't used to. As she help onto his shirt, Johnathon looked into her eyes, listening to her words. Apologize? He hadn't said anything wrong... had he? He was just being blunt with the man... was that wrong. Ellie's expression made Johnathon ashamed of what he'd done. He made his sister embarrassed. He frowned and looked at the man who he had "insulted" in some way or another and said in a polite manner, "I greatly apologize for my harsh words. Please take any concerns with me on my behavior and not my sister if you please." When Johnathon wanted to speak like a noble, he would speak like one. But only for his sister and nobody else.

Forrest Chamberlain

After the boy had apologized, Forrest roughly brushed off his pressed trousers and stood up - looming over the two siblings due to his impressive height.
He glanced down at Johnathon before his attention shifted towards his sister.
"He spoke the truth, madam. As the ignorant person that I am, failed to realize my rudeness. My sincerest apologies." He said, clearly.

Forrest dropped to one knee and gently took hold of Ellie's left hand and brought it close to his mouth.
"I should have introduced myself earlier." The man whispered, gently breathing on her delicate fingers. "Forrest Chamberlain, at your service.
He lightly pressed his lips against her hand, his piercing eyes focused entirely upwards on her intense blue ones.

Once the greeting was over, he stood up and turned towards the boy.
"And - of course - the young sir." Forrest nodded towards Johnathon, a genuine smile plastered on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He gracefully extended out his right hand - with the notion that the child would reply and shake it.

Ellie stood frozen, her eyes wide, hand hovering in the air from where Forrest had held it and pressed his lips against her fingers. She had been treated as such often, but usually by friends of her father and their sons, obnoxious and rude boys who let their eyes scour every inch of her form and made her skin crawl. This boy--man--however, Forrest, he was much different. Polite, and friendly, calling her brother's rudeness onto himself.

"Mr. Chamberlain, please, you mustn't blame yourself..."
