Soul Contract

In times of desperation, people will do anything to make things better. However selling your soul to the devil might seem to do more bad than good as you become a minion of the devil.

880 readers have visited Soul Contract since Aniihya created it.

Introduction

In times of desperation, people do things they are otherwise not willing to do. However some would sell their soul to the devil in exchange for a better life. But in this scenario, the devil differentiates between selling a soul out of greed and sellling a soul because of a dire situation. People who sell their souls out of good intent become minions of the devil. However they still cannot go to heaven/the afterlife/valhalla etc. But maybe being a demon is not bad after all. Aside from having to capture escaped souls and other deeds, the devil seems to try to make things as comfortable as possible for the minions.

The devil: A woman known as Lucifa, you can call her "Lucy". She is not the devil said to bring the bad in the world but is rather benevolent and employs demons to punish bad souls and torment living bad souls. She refers to the rulers of the heavens as deities or her good friends as her realm received the bad souls no matter which belief. In the human realm, she has many names: Hades, Erishkigal, Izanami, Satan, etc.

The contractees: They were in a desperate situation and sold their soul as a last resort. In exchange for her help, the devil turned the contractees into minions or demons of hers due to the pure intent of the contract. During the day, they can live their normal lives but during the night they have too fulfill deeds or stay in hell.

Hell: It is not what you expect of it. The main part of it seems like a meadow with a neverending sunset. But then there are subrealms depending on fears of bad souls that can torment them. Time also seems to be slower here and punishment is never eternal. However souls can be denied entry into higher realms. So it is often stay or be reincarnated in another world.

As Lucifa offered money to them if they could finish their job quickly Emily nodded and politley declined as well, "It's nice to offer us money, but I'll settle for taking this dangerous woman off the street before she causes harm to others." After she had said that Heath said that he was going to prepare and told her to find the location then left, disappearing from sight. She gave a sigh after he had left, he wasn't the most friendliest person but at least he didn't insult her this time. After she had the time to think, she turned to Lucifa before asking a question, "So where do we start looking? And what does she look like?"

"I will set up a portal to the city you need to go to. The city is called Ernstarn. There you have to keep an eye out for a woman with brown-red hair, she likely has a collar of a black aura around her neck only visible to the residents of the underworld. It is used for in case they escape and to restrain them when they are to be punished. However the collar isn't all knowing so it cannot prevent a breakout. Otherwise the woman is tall, pale and is missing a finger. If you disguise yourself as the homeless, you should find her easily or rather she will find you and likely assault you which is your chance to catch her." Lucifa said to Emily.

Emily nodded and made the bravest face she could make, "We won't let you down Lucifa." With that, she began to head to the portal that lead to Ernstarn, however she didn't know where Heath went after he had disappeared. Her first thought was to try and find him in hell, but that could take to much time and instead decided to wait by the portal for at least 15 minutes. If he didn't show up by then she would go by herself, but for now she decided to tear her shirt in multiple places, afterwards she rolled on the ground to get dirty to make it look like she was a hobo.

"Pffft." He gave out a bemused laugh, seeing the woman roll about of the ground. "You really are a mutt." The young man was tailed by three much bigger men. The three of the five who knew about his being a demonic errand boy. The four of them were dressed in worn out garbs, looking very much decrepit and appearing quite poor indeed. "They can't see souls like we can, but they get the basics. They'll just sit around to attract attention. It's easier to spot five than two." He gave a brief description, looking over to the portal. The men introduced themselves to Emily in a gentle and friendly matter, saying that the will aide her in any way possible.
"Enough with the sappy introductions, let's go already." The men eagerly nodded in response to his cold words.

As Emily rolled on the ground, she heard an all to familiar voice insult her yet again. She stopped rolling and stood up with tears on her shirt and dirt all over her making it look like she was poor. Afterwards a few men dressed in poor clothing introduced themselfs in a freindly manner and she responded in a kind greeting as well. She turned to Heath after greeting the men and spoke, "We are going to the city of Ernstarn and the woman we are looking for has brown-red hair, tall, pale and missing a pinkey." Her tone of voice while speaking to him was that of a person who just a stranger for the time.

He glanced at the thread on his pinky. "Hm, wonder what that entails..."
He gave a shrug, waving the four over to the portal. "Remember not to screw up too badly. This guys can only help so much and I have no interest in protecting the likes of you." The three men mutter in just among themselves, claiming that Heath could never ignore a woman in need. He gave them a stern glare, effectively silencing them. Heath moved onto the portal, vanishing without a single drop of fear or hesitation.
"Ladies first, as usual." One of the men jested, making fun of their boss whilst another turned to Emily.
"Go on ahead miss, boss will guard the front and we'll guard the back. You have nothing to worry about."

As they walked over to the portal, Heath had made yet another insult towards her. She wanted to talk back to him to turn his insult right around but she didn't need him to be in a angry mood since they were working together. As the young man entered the portal one of the men made a joke about ladies first which caused her to giggle, afterwards another man told her to go ahead while they guard the back. With that she entered the portal full of determination and one final thought in her mind, "Those men could teach Heath a lesson about being nice."

What was on the other side of the portal was the bustling town of Ernstarn. A busy city roared about them as Heath calmly and casually walked forward into the daunting crowd. Being from Tokyo, he saw little problem in the bustling city, even his men who at first stood out seemed nothing short of normal in this busy street. Heath made his way into a nearby alley, not a soul resided. One of Heath's men was stopped by and being talked to by an elder woman.
"You're a strapping young man! How come you look so pitiful? Any who, that there alley is not for you're kind. They say a homicidal beast lurks there." The man was scolded as Heath and the other two quietly retreated into the alley. Once the woman had her say, she left the last henchmen to follow suit, keeping his eye on Emily.
"Looks like we were dropped pretty much right where we needed to be, for once." Heath remarked, a blank look on his face. He hopped into one of the garbage bins, pulling out a card board box and tossed it to Emily, continuing to dig for anything else they could use.

As Emily stepped out of the portal, she was surprised to see so many people in one area, but her surprise was justified due to the fact that she lived next to a village with less that 200 people. She took a few seconds to calm down before following Heath, afterwards they encountered a old woman who scolded one of the men. As the man was scolded by the old woman she was brought into a nearby alley before having a cardboard box thrown at her. She caught the box and understood what to do next, she placed the box on the ground before sitting inside it and placed her arms around her legs.

"Trash! They are all trash!" A woman not too far away from where the homeless hung out mumbled. In her hand was a boxcutter which she toyed with. She put a hood over her head and zipped up her hoodie. She slowly began to walk towards the group, keeping the boxcutter concealed in her sleeve. It took only about a minute until she was close to the group. She did as if she would simply walk past them but she would take one from behind when the time was right. Once she was behind one of the male hobos, she quickly took out the boxcutter and stabbed him in the neck. Then she decided to make a run.

Re: Soul Contract

Since we are three, it should be alright to start. Best we start with the situation that got the souls sold in the first place.

Do you think we should RP or continue to wait?
