Just say yes and I can make the bad feelings go away; it's win-win!

a character in “Soul Feast”, as played by Inspector-Storyhead

Description

Name: Jillian "Jill" Gaiety
Species: Fae
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Image
Background: As an infant Jillian was unwittingly made part of the old world, and now highly taboo, practice of switching a Fae child with a human child. Because of this, Jill grew up with more human values and when she was returned to her kind, still relatively young, she was hard-pressed to readjust. Years later, she set out again to learn more about humankind. Though she is more human-like than most of her kind, she is wholly Fae at heart and proud of it.

Harrowby Prep was a nice enough school. In fact, it was quite beautiful. But the background checks that were conducted for new students were a bit spotty to say the least. Being that it was a local school in a pretty rural area, no one really expected anyone sketchy to even try to enroll.

The new school year had just started a few weeks earlier and Jill was already settled happily into her routine. The only real problem was those... distractions. The scent of rich, flavorful emotional turmoil that captured her attention against her will. It was more than a bit annoying, but it was in her nature. There was nothing to do but try her best to moderate her cravings, and only indulge when her hunger was no longer manageable.

Jill placed a hand absently to her middle and looked around the classroom, eyeing a few students with interest. That time would be coming again soon.

Jess pulled into the school parking lot, already late for her first class; great, this day was going great. She stumbled out of the car, slamming the door behind her only to walk a few inches and be slammed back- her bag caught in the door. Growling under her breath, she unlocked it once more and opened her door, releasing the stretched out bag back to her side. It didn’t take her long to start semi-running into the school, signing in at the front desk for being tardy and making her way to class.

Picking a meal was a delicate process for a Fae. Jill knew it wasn't very sensitive of her to think of her classmates as food, but it was necessary to narrow down her selection as she'd rather not feed from the same human twice in a row.

Last month; dumped by her boyfriend and dripping with heartbreak. And before that the guy who was too nervous to change in the locker room. Of course, there were other flavors to enjoy; those recently by the honeymoon phase of a teenage romance, or the victorious taste of someone who had just learned to drive. But positive emotions Jill felt weren't hers to take. Fear and sadness were just as delicious, and taking them was practically doing the humans a service.

Distantly Jill sensed frustration, strong and potent coming from the hallway, and squirmed involuntarily. She was thinking way to much about this. If it came to it, there were some "easy pickings" lined up that she could choose from after class.

The day was indeed getting slightly better- when she came through the doorway to enter the class, it seemed that the teacher and such weren’t present; giving her some time to sit down and get ready. Several friends approached her, giving her usual friendly greetings- how are you, what’s up, how’s your mornings, etc.
“It’s been good.” Is what always responds to questions like that; lying or not. Sure, her life may not be all that bad, but it didn’t seem like that to her. This morning, her grandmother- still listless as ever- had defecated on the chair; and due to the fact that Jessica’s mom had already left, she was the one to clean it up. Not wanting to go to school smelling like old woman’s feces, she had to jump into the shower and leave with a hustle.

It didn’t matter now though; she was at school- it should be better, right? Her lips parted slightly at that fact, her cheeks fattening from her hands closing around her face; all of this together was indeed a comedic sight with her brows furrowed together, deep in concentration.

After class, Jill made a quick detour to the locker of a certain student she'd had her eye on for a bit. A freshman girl, always wonderfully seasoned with stress and anxious nerves. This would be quick, she assured herself, quick and easy. She took a deep breath and channeled her charm. Jill wasn't as good at the whole emotional manipulation thing as some other Fae, but she could still hold her own, especially when she was hungry.

"Hi!" she chirped with saccharine sweetness at the girl who was struggling with her bookbag. "Can I help you carry your things?" The girl complied without question and, swayed by the force of Fae charm, didn't even notice when Jill directed her away from her destination and towards an empty classroom. "Just relax" Jill purred. "You're gonna feel great in a second."

She might've been a bit overzealous though. In her hunger she failed to notice that the door was still ajar.

All other presences faded when Jill fed. Some Fae were so greedy, she knew, wanting to take all they could from everyone they could, but she liked to think her feeding style was more personal. She always treated her food with care.

The girl she had chosen- what was her name? Oh never mind- went limp like a ragdoll in Jill's hands, completely swayed by the effects of a Fae's charm. Jill propped her up a bit and put her hand on either side of her face.

"I'm gonna take away all the stress you've been feeling, okay?" she asked calmly. And with a lazy nod from the girl, she finally got her meal. To a bystander this position would look rather intimate, and in a sense it was, but the Fae girl merely held contact long enough to get her fill and then re-positioned her food, still giddy with the sudden absence of any negative emotion, into a chair where she could rest away the aftereffects of the feeding. When she woke, she'd likely remember little if anything about what happened, and anything she did remember would be shrouded by that good feeling that accompanied it.

Full and content, Jill spared her meal one last appreciative peck on the cheek and practically skipped off to class.
