A Victorian-style mansion in the city of San Francisco. The manor is very close to the school.
The residents that live here are mostly defined by one description; evil. In the darkness that taints the home, to the twisted minds of those who live here, death and decay exists all around them.
The main cause would be Vincent West and his panther Felix.

Jamie mumbled threats and curses, twisting and writhing to get away from her father. They had slid to the bottom of the stairs, Jamie was glad her neck hadn't broken.. she could hear Greyson somewhere inside the house. She screamed his name.
Her foot firmly planted in Vincent's face, she pushed off and got up, watching her father try and sit up while blood gushed from his nose. "Y-you.."
"Me." She said calmly, her eyes narrowed in disgust.

Meanwhile, Felix was being beaten on by a bunch of puppies and kittens. And a fox. Time to play, he felt a tiny cat on his shoulders. He rolled, knowing there were kids running past him into the house. The kitten on his back was undoubtedly squished, he could feel her desperate claws against his back. He got up, letting her gasp for air and dodged as the lion swiped at him. Avalon dove at him, but the panther merely twisted around and let her skid in the grass. Something tugged at him. Vincent. Using a very, very complicated move, he leaped upward, and as one of them jumped at him, he used their snarling face as a springboard and flipped in midair. He landed somewhere twenty feet away, on his paws. And then he charged at the door. Most of the kids were inside now.. he slipped in and pressed a dark button with his nose. The wooden doors clamped shut, several locks clicked after. Nothing from the inside or outside could open it now besides Vincent.

"You came to die." Vincent was on his feet, wincing but still strong. Felix lay on the ground awake but still injured. "You entered my home.. and expected to leave alive? I can kill off your Threads right now, brats.." He held a hand over his ribs. He didn't know who was inside, about four or five. Including Jamie.
Before they could really say anything, he nodded at Felix, who arose slowly and moved off. "You'll see what happens when you mess me." And as Felix nudged a panel in the dark, an invisible gas floated in through the vents. He covered his nose.
He watched the students drop like flies. Not dead, but in a deep sort of sleep. Avalon went beserk. All the heartbeats that were there before had suddenly become dull and slow. Jamie lay near Vincent.
"Oh, daughter. You really do grow up fast. And this is what you get for disobeying orders."
((Now, I have no idea where some of you are, presumably in the foyer or elsewhere in the house.. I'm desperately trying to think of how to get this going XD ))
The students had been moved to a room similar to the one Jamie was kept in. Felix had falcon asleep due to sheer exhaustion while Vincent stay awake to monitor the students and care for his wounds.

As Eve was speaking, Avalon grew more anxious by the second. Her Thread was in there, smart enough to be able to tell them where she was using a needle.
"I'm letting them know where we are. Anyone who's coming to rescue us." She raised her head to look at Greyson, then stood up. Almost instantly, she heard footsteps and tensed.
"Guys? You in there? Is Everyone okay? Where's the door?" Eve said more, but it was nearly intelligible through the wall. But Jamie knew.. they had to find the door.
"Greyson? Can you and anyone who's awake please look for an exit out of here?" She leaned down to the crack in the wall.
"Hello Eve," she said pleasantly, "I'm pretty sure we're all okay. Dizzy. Anyway, we'll find the door soon and get out of this hellhole. She heard Avalon sniff the wall and whimper. "Don't worry, Avalon! We're all fine, and I'll be out soon, okay?" The whimpering ceased.

Felix heard crashing and took off immediately. He couldn't quite find the source, as it seemed to be in two places at once. Things broken, noises, trampling, howls and snarls. He dared to stop at one hallway near a broken china plate. He sniffed around and scented the same wolf from before. Suddenly, his ears laid back. This is a trick, or these are very, very stupid animals. His orders were To split from Vincent and hunt down anyone or anything still in the manor. How did these guys get in? Breaking into a run once more, he vowed to catch at least one of them. And Vincent never said he had to keep them alive.

Another beeping sound made Vincent blink. He opened the radio type invention. "A trap was set off? Upper floor.. what could they possibly.."
Perhaps he'd have to reconsider these kids. Stolling very quickly to the room where the trap had been set, he threw open the door.

((Dang, this is hard XD Anyway, since we're not in the academy anymore, we can change it to the new place! If you haven't already seen it, check it out in places.))

((OOC:sorry back tracking a bit for Rue and its a bit short))

[Rue]
Rue was tense as she yanked the cord from the box, a small shock was sent through her but she simply shook it off. The mansion's loud hum grew softer. Rue stood with her head held high waiting for Melonie to stroke her head and praise her, but when she opened her eyes her heart sunk. Rue regained her sight of her main goal, to get Melonie out and alive. The cat trotted over to Eve and easily followed their conversation.

[Melonie]
Melonie spaced out thinking about her missing love. Melonie ran her finger over the small bump on her neck from where the needle injected her. Muffled humming of machines echoed in the quiet room and the smell of something burning in the distance thickened the air. Melonie's heart pounded, she held her chest has if it would help the unbearable pain, a haunting night for Melonie. Jamie mumbled something about leaving her to talk to the hole in the wall. The slender girl took her time as she tried to get up with out falling over. Melonie was unsure on where to go, she ended up just standing in the middle of the room like a fool until she followed out behind Greyson. Melonie stood tall trying not to show her true feelings. She was scared and lonely, once again she was left with no one to lean on it was up to her to keep herself alive. "No going back now." she whispered under her breath.

((sorry i've been away for awhile, guys. Extreme family issues happened and since I got back for winter break it hasn't exactly been dandy. But here goes!))

Prince silently listened to his instructions, being quite entertained by the thought of leading Felix on a merry chase with Coad. So, he ran down the hall next to Coad, then proceeded down the straight hallway. He found a room that seemed quite expensive. Then again, all of the house was expensive. But regardless, Prince let out a roar then started tearing away at furniture, at decorations, everything. He even managed to break a door off the hinges (his head hurt a bit afterwords though). He saw a camera in the hallway outside of the room, then stood on his hind legs to an impressive height, over 6 feet. He stuck his nose into the lens then with a mighty swing of his paw, knocked it aside and ran back through the halls.
Should there have been an unfortunate painting or portrait on the wall, it was soon greeted with claws and thrown to the floor.

"Come on out, you fiendish panther! I will demonstrate what happens when you mess with my Thread!" Prince roared again. He was actually starting to enjoy letting loose such a noise, and wondered if it would annoy Andra very much.

Speaking of Andra...

Andra was just waking up in a dark room, unable to see anything. Her eyelids felt like lead, and her head was pounding. But she sat up anyway, hearing others stir in the darkness. She thought she could make out Greyson's voice, and tried her own, to hear it come out as only a raspy squeak.
She cleared her throat, then spoke up clearly. "Where are we? Are we getting out of here?"

((That's fine, pipzel! And hope everything's going okay now, solamente. Anyway, I received flowers from my boyfriend today. Very happy ^^))

"Yes, we'll be out as soon as we find-"
But it was then that a voice called, "Guys... I think I've found the door!" Jamie hadn't heard this voice before, but didn't complain.
"Excellent. Eve, over to the right about eight feet.." she said, squinting to see the girl's position. And then her leaderly attitude took over. She hadn't shown this since she was young with Tasarin.. she changed her mind.
"See if you guys can get your Threads to do a U-turn and get out of the mansion. Break through a window. Whatever it takes. Tell them to get to the ferry, and we'll be out then. Avalon, you go too." Jamie ignored the fox's pathetic whimpering and walked to Amante. She took the doorknob and twisted. After some resistance, she knew this was one of her father's puzzle locks.
"Dear father, you knew I could solve these as a toddler." She bent down and turned it back and forth, stopping and alternating between almost silent clicks. Then the door fell open. "Good." she held it open and stared at everyone. "Well? Let's get out of here." Her voice was calm but commanding. She was sort of.."in charge". At least, she always was when she was alone then, why not now?

Felix skidded against the carpet as he saw the flame in the carpet. Beating out quickly with a paw, he moved on after the wolf. The scent was close.. and then, just as he rounded a corner he knew he'd have the dog trapped, all he saw was shattered window. He stared in shock, then realized that was the plan all along. He turned and dashed down the hall to tell Vincent. But he was stopped by fire. The little flame, apparently, had not been snuffed out properly. It now was eating through the hall and went further. Felix moved back in shock. It was too late. The kids had won.
The panther could only shut his eyes as the flames consumed him.

Jamie played with the lock and solved it without breaking a sweat. The door opened with a creek, the smell of fire rushed into the room. Everyone exited calmly and without a word. Melonie wondered away from the group. Ahead of her she could see fire burning in every direction. Melonie snuck into the room next to the one that glowed red and orange. She stuck to the connecting door and slid open the door. No one noticed the thin door being opened, Melonie stuck her head in just enough to see and not be noticed. To her surprise she saw Alex, Damon, and Mr. West. Melonie's heart stopped when she saw Alex wince in pain.

The ash burned her throat and eyes, but she wasn't going back until she got Alex back in her arms. Her heart sank "Alexander..." her whisper seemed to echo in charred room. She watched as Damon tried to get Alex to lay off Mr. West. Melonie examined Alex's body to see any other sign of pain or injury. Alex turned his back in the direction the Melonie was sitting, his shirt was burned and so was her heart. Melonie held her hand out towards Alex but he couldn't see her. Her eyes glossy and tired watched Alex moan in pain.

Melonie's throat began to close, lungs caving in. Melonie tried her hardest to resist coughing. Gasping like a fish out of water she prayed she would make it out alive. All she could do was imagine the red plastic cover of the inhaler. Melonie's tongue was dry and cracked. Melonie felt like she was breathing through a straw without a hole on the other end. She held her hands loosely around her throat. "Please, save m-" her throat cut off, her voice was still unheard. The groans of the dieing panther echoed behind her giving her nightmares. Tears left her eyes but quickly dried. Damon's voice pierced Melonie's ears, it was the only voice she couldn't block out. All she wanted was the gentle touch of Alex's hands and the warm feeling of his arms around her protecting her from harm. Melonie could slowly feel her body shut down. The harsh air filled her lungs, draining any life she had left.

Gah! Stupid Internet! I went on vacation a couple days ago, only to find that we have no Wifi where we're staying. But my dad got one of those Sprint cards that create a wifi bubble for 5 computers. So, I'm good now.

Eve stood anxiously outside the chink in the wall, tapping her feet nervously. Avalon had reluctantly ran out of the building, following Jamie's orders. Eve tried to get Kerwin to go too, but he stayed firmly planted on her shoulders and head, his little fists knotted in her hair. She'd have to pull half the black stands out of her scalp to even try to unseat him. Smoke started to creep into the hallway, the ceiling beginning to be obscured.

Oh, God. Fire?! Really?! Shit, we need to get them out now or we'll all asphyxiate. Eve paced the hall, watching the smoke layer on top of itself. The air was beginning to become heavy. Eve began sweating. This was all going horribly wrong. Without power, the fire alarms and sprinklers wouldn't go off. In fact, some of the smoke detectors were probably melted into a useless piece of plastic by now... After what seemed like hours of waiting Eve finally heard something good.

"Guys... I think I've found the door!" Eve let out a sigh of relief. From the direction of the voice, Eve guessed that the door was farther in the room and a little to the left. Obviously, the door did not open into this hallway. Eve ran left down the hallway which eventually turned right, and then right again. There was the door. Eve reached them just as they were coming out.

"Fire. We need an escape route. Jamie, any ideas?" Eve motioned to the smoke coating the ceiling. By now, she was crouching to avoid the choking gray smog- the air was much worse here. Down the passageway, she could see licks of red and orange coming 'round the corner. The bright glow of the flames ate up at the wood and lavish carpets. Eve did a head check. They were one short.

"Where's Mel-" Kerwin jumped off Eve's shoulders and ran to a door slightly down the hallway. There was a body in the doorway.

Ok, I'm going to stop that here. Just in case you all had any idea where to go with this.

Scott back at STA, hours ago

He tore through the halls of the Academy, footfalls echoing loudly. He had tunnel vision, his sights set straight in front of him. His mind was a chaotic mass of emotion, the image of his sister's corpse the only coherent thought. Her slight body lying limp on the bathroom floor, her long blonde hair fanned out against the grimy blue tiles... His blood boiled. Rage. Hatred. Grief. Then more rage. A vicious cycle that tore his mind to pieces.

Tala bounded along next to him. Her beetle black eyes were ablaze. Scott skidded to a stop outside the school's office. Inside, it was dark and silent. He brushed past the secretary's desk, walking briskly to the back closet. He twisted the knob, but the door didn't budge. Locked. Scott angrily slammed his fist down on the desk. A drawer rattled. He opened it to find a set of keys. There were about one hundred keys on the ring, but luckily the secretary had labeled them all. Scott flipped through the keys as quickly as he could, finally finding one labeled, "Closet". He shoved the jagged piece of metal into the lock, and the door clicked. He pulled it open to find a tower of filing cabinets. Thank God these weren't locked.

"V.W... V.W...." Scott dropped down to the bottom most cabinet, labeled V-Z and opened it. At first, Scott started looking through the V's. Derek Vanderson, Stacey Varster, Eve Vasiliades... Scott hit his forehead with the palm of his hand. The initials were V.W. Which means he should be looking in the W's not the V's.

"God, I'm wasting so much time," he muttered. He looked through the W's, passing Jill Watson, Gregory Wembley, and the like... He froze. In block letters, "Vincent West". West? Wasn't that Jamie's last name?

Scott withdrew the manilla file, and looked through the pieces of paper. He scanned over the page quickly, skipping over details like where Vincent was born and his clear talent in science and math. One paragraph burned into him like a red hot poker.

Mr. West's stay at the school (1990-1994) was unfortunately tainted by a series of horrible deaths - a terrible four years for Soul Thread Academy. As a freshman, one of his classmates mysteriously died after only 2 days in school. The deaths continued throughout the next couple years. Vincent West was a model student, deeply concerned for his peers. Thanks to the West family's sponsorship, investigations were launched. They were sadly inconclusive... Scott wasn't stupid. He could put two and two together. During his fours years at STA, Vincent West was "plagued" by the death of his classmates. Yet, when he left the deaths somewhat stop, excepting the odd freak accident of course. Then his daughter arrived. More deaths. A small child could figure this one out.

"No..." Scott clenched his teeth. At the bottom of Vincent West's file was a more recent update.

Vincent West now is the CEO of the Westech Corporation. He lives close to the academy, and is an important alumnus to the school. He often donates money...

Westech. That word told Scott all he needed to know. His father, James Parker, was once a technician for that company. Scott was never told exactly what his father did, but it paid for a large house and a happy family. That is, until the day James didn't come home. One evening, Emily Parker took her two children and ran from their house. She raced out with them, carrying only one bag full of the essentials. Scott remembered the day all too clearly.

"MOM! Where are we going?! Where's Daddy?!" Skye's terrified cries filled the night air as Emily dragged her daughter down the steps of the house.

"We can't just LEAVE!" Tears were streaming down her small face, and her tiny black hawk was flying around frantically.

"Honey, we need to move. There's no time, they'll find you..." Scott followed his mother, carrying the duffel bag with their belongings. Emily was getting into the car and she practically threw Skye into the backseat. Her hawk swooped in before the door shut, and Skye held him close. Something was seriously wrong. But Scott was the older sibling. He was calmer. But Tala betrayed his own worry and fear, her hair standing straight up on her back, tail puffed up. Sky opened up the other side of the back seat and let her in. He then climbed into the passenger seat. He looked at Emily. She was the picture of horror, hair matted down with sweat and face white as a ghost.

"Mom? What's going on? This is so confusing, please just tell us." Scott waited for his mother to answer, but she was trying to start the car. Her small hand was shaking violently and she couldn't quite get the key in the ignition. She finally succeeded in inserting the key. The engine roared to life. She backed the car out of the driveway and took off down the road of their neighborhood.

"Kids, listen to me. Their are people after you. People who do not like you simply because you are different. You must hide - try to get to Aunt Harriet's. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay with you-"

"You're leaving us!?!" Skye wailed in the back seat. Her eyes were red and she was hyperventilating.

"Sweetie, please calm down. Scott. I can count on you, right?" Emily looked in a panic toward her son. Scott's throat was tight. He was only 15 years old. He nodded. Emily looked slightly relieved.

"Promise you'll take care of Skye for me," she whispered.

"I-" Emily hit the breaks. Her head whipped around to look back up the hill to the house. Headlights had pulled up to the large home.

"Oh, God. They're at the house. It's no use. I love you both. GET OUT OF THE CAR!" she screamed. Scott leaped from the passenger seat. He opened up the back and pulled Skye out, who was screaming.

"No, Mommy! D-don't. PLEASE!" The little girl sobbed. Scott shouldered the duffel bag and slammed the door shut. Instantly, Emily Parker drove off, hurtling down the dark road. Tears ran down Scott's face. But he had to be the strong one. He grabbed his sister's hand and ran through his neighbor's back yards. They ran throughout the night...

Weeks later, Scott found his parent's deaths in the paper. According to the media, the couple had perished in a deadly accident. Their bodies had been found, trapped in a car at the bottom of a river. Using the money his mother had given him, Scott went about purchasing tickets for a flight to Phoenix, Arizona. That's where Aunt Harriet lived. In the end, the money wasn't enough. They had already spent too much on food and other necessities. They had tried to leave earlier, but the men who had stopped at their house had been following them. Getting on a plane while being trailed by them would just be an airborne trap. It came down to only buying one ticket. Scott purchased a disguise for Skye and sent her on the plane. He promised her that he'd join her eventually, once he had the money.

Little did he know, that once Skye had landed she was surrounded by enemies. She barely made it through the airport, the disguise and her quick feet getting her through by the skin of her teeth. But when she finally got to Aunt Harriet's place, she found no one. Their aunt had disappeared as well. No one they knew was safe. Skye was forced to live on the street. Within a week, she was picked up by an orphanage. She lived there for years. Finally, the Soul Thread Academy found her and gifted her with a scholarship. Scott had just managed to earn enough money to sustain himself and pay travel fairs. He was worried when Skye didn't call his cellphone after she landed. By now, he was sure she was gone forever. But he refused to give up. She was all he had left. He came to Arizona only to find their aunt's house inhabited by strangers. Skye had vanished into thin air.

He wandered around Arizona hoping to find a trace of his sister. About a month ago, he stumbled across Skye's former orphanage. They gave him directions to STA. And here he was. And now, his sister was dead and gone. They had only been together a day.

Scott balled up the file in his fist. Vincent West was the root of everything. All of his pain and misery linked back to the one man. Vincent West must die.

Vincent didn't have time for this. As the tiger pounced, he forced himself to move. His grip on the doorway shook as he spun on the floor, using his foot to throw the open door shut. A satisfying thud and snarl told him the beast had slammed against the door.but the thin wood wouldn't hold either of them for very long. This idiot with the switchblade had sentenced himself to death, apparently - Vincent's house was falling to the flames. His throat convulsed and he choked, retching, but he pushed himself a little farther. The door (which he'd locked) made a terrible sound as it was ripped from it's hinges. The tiger and boy walked out, fury in their eyes. They were going to kill him.
But Mr. West was all too prepared. He pushed his shaking hand into his pocket, opening up a flap of cloth, and clutched in his hand was a bright white pill. Before anything could blink, it was in his mouth. It was over in ten seconds.
And then, in the hallway of his own manor, Vincent West died.

Jamie literally dragged Melonie away from the fire, to a nearby window. No one had been here. This was probably at the wrong side of the house.. so much for sticking together. "Come on, Melonie, wake up.. you're so.." Jamie muttered the last part as she leaned the girl against the windowsill. But she was stirring. She'd be fine. Jamie was light and 'delicate', so she easily made the jump to the tree branch. Using the momentum from the leap, she swung on top of the branch, which swayed dangerously. She felt like some sort of circus trapeze artist. Ugh.
Feeling weightless, she slid down the trunk of the tree, occasionally stopping to rest on a thicker branch. Her hands felt bruised, sore, and torn afterwards, but she was safe. She held her hands to the rain. It felt a little better. She seemed to be the first one down.
Lowering her eyes, she screamed. There was a window. The basement's window only an inch above the ground. Terrified, white eyes looked at Jamie. The owner of those eyes revealed her mouth, open in a soundless scream.
"Mom.." Jamie's voice was tense and scared. Her father.. that bastard.. But she couldn't go back inside the house. Not even for her mother. So she took off.. one foot after the other.. as her mother watched. The hope fell in her heart as she withdrew back to the basement. The smoke would kill her in a matter of minutes.
Looking back upwards, shielding her eyes, Jamie saw Melonie beginning to climb down. Good.

Jamie walked somewhat disoriented back through the gates, a dazed look in her eyes. She stumbled every now and then. Avalon went up to her, joyfully but silently. They walked together. The students must be ahead. She held up her hand to the rain and wished the cold water washed all the things from before away. And this was how she mourned everything from her past.

((Well Erayu you snooze you loose. Sorry For making Jamie drag me I had a plan but it failed epically))

Melonie could feel her half dead body being dragged. Her head was spinning from lack of oxygen. Her lungs were showing no sign of working properly. Jamie set her by a window, the cold wet air slowly filled her lungs bringing her back. Jamie mumbled something but she could quite catch it. Her weak arms slowly lifted as she gripped the windowsill. Her nail dug into the old sill as she held herself up. She leaned on the windowsill to catch her breath. Melonie opened her eyes and gazed down at the deadly drop. Her heart was beating so fast she thought is was going to explode. "I have to jump this?" she thought to herself. Something caught her eye. When her eyes focused she found Rue sitting next to the tree. She held her head high (lots of h's) and nodded to Melonie as if she was saying "You can do it, I believe you."

Melonie held her breath as she leaped to the closest branch. Melonie's hand came in contact with a thick branch but the burns on her hands stung as her fingers wrapped around the branch. "You can do this Melonie," she whispered to herself. At this point she was for sure her hands were bleeding. Melonie could hear scratching, she looked down to she Rue had met her half way and was encouraging her keep going. Wanting to get this over with Melonie leaped down from branch to branch.

She began to become unsteady, her foot landed hard on a weak branch, it snapped within seconds. Melonie jumped off the branch and hugged the trunk close to her. She watched it hit the continuous branches below thinking that could have been her. Her head began to pound, the color in her face drained. Melonie grew dehydrated and weak. She inched down the tree and lingered behind Jamie. Her body felt like it was filled with led. Rue came running towards Melonie but didn't try to get her attention. Melonie glared at the burning house behind her and stuck her tongue at it. Melonie looked down at her burned and bloody hands. She frowned. Melonie ripped the bottom of the shirt (its was big on her so she had some to spare) and wrapped her hands making the threads in the shirt turn bright red.

Rue took her place at Melonie's ankles. Melonie suddenly stopped, her eyes filled with tears. "Alex...." she whispered. Rue ran into her leg not noticing she stopped. Rue scowled at Melonie "Don't worry he will be OK." Rue hissed "We need to go you are hurt." she continued. Melonie stared at the house for a solid 5 minutes hoping to Alex or even Damon. Nothing showed. The rain stung her hands but at the same time healed the pain. She was soaked from the harsh rain. The thunder and lighting startled Melonie, but she didn't have to be scared. Melonie was shivering, she was to weak to keep herself warm. All she could do was imagine the warmth of Alex's body next to her. Her hair was dripping wet and covering her face. Rue's pelt was wet but warm. To get any warmth she could Melonie picked Rue up and held her close. Melonie coughed and wheezed but that didn't stop her all she wanted was to be home but that wasn't an option.
