0 · 2,872 views · located in Spirit World

a character in “Spirited Away: The Return”, as played by Baby Panda

Description

General Info
Full Name: Kaonashi
Fake Name: No-Face. (Nickname. He hasn't worked at the bathhouse.)
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Birth Place: Unknown
Birth Date: Unknown

Appearance
Height: 9'4" (a.k.a. VERY TALL)

No-Face appeared semi-transparent while shifting in and out of visibility. His organs are visible pulsating in several shots. His figure resembles that of a long black tube. While it is unknown if No-Face has a "body", it is shown that he has legs and feet with the capability of leaving footprints as he walks. An ominous expressionless mask with purple highlights is plastered on his "head" of sorts, and while there is a "mouth" painted on the mask No-Face has shown that his real, expertly hidden mouth is larger than the one on his mask. It is also shown to be able to pull its mask into its body and to stretch its limbs indefinitely.

Personality

No-Face is a spirit who mainly acts on influence. In the bathhouse, the greed of the workers made him think acting just like those around Chihiro (Sen) would help get her to like him. He is a lonely spirit that gets upset when he is rejected by someone he likes or even loves. He is angered when his friends, the person he loves or he is insulted. Most of the time, he would eat that person even if there are lots of people around. No-Face is usually a very timid and soft-spoken spirit whose vocabulary consisted of grunts and moans as opposed to understandable words. The only time he isn't like this is when he is angry and maybe upset on a few occasions.

When he was with Zeniba, she had taught him to speak a bit of English an Japanese by himself. He can say simple things like 'Yes', 'No', 'Maybe' and 'Hello'.

History
Family and Friends: Unknown
Known Languages: Japanese, English, 'Ah'-ish.

History In The Spirited Away Movie:

No-Face was first introduced standing on the bridge watching a rushing Chihiro and Haku, who were at the time avoiding any spirits from persecuting her for being a human. He subsequently disappeared and reappeared again on the bridge the morning after, watching a passing Chihiro with fascination. No-Face is not seen as a major character until he is let into The Bathhouse by a considerate Chihiro, who worried that No-Face would get wet out in the rain. He emerged again next to The Foreman, stealing a Bath Token for Chihiro. Apparently happy that she thanked him, No-Face subsequently stole more tokens, but was ultimately rejected by Chihiro, who told him that she only needed one. Disheartened, No-Face disappeared, letting the tokens fall to the floor.

While the rest of the workers celebrated after the leave of the Unnamed River Spirit, No-Face was seen sitting in a corner, watching as the workers fought and argued for leftover gold on the ground. Learning that gold was important, No-Face baited an unsuspecting Aogaeru to come closer to him when the latter was digging for gold, swallowing the frog spirit and gaining his properties soon after. With the negative qualities in Aogaeru reflecting in him, No-Face demanded a luxurious bath from the workers, throwing magically conjured gold to the workers in the process and becoming larger by ingesting large amounts of food.

With his assumed large amount of wealth No-Face became a sensation with the workers who constantly begged for tips from him. After witnessing Chihiro reject his offering of gold, No-Face sadly drops the gold onto the ground, forcing greedy workers to fight for a piece. Angered in assuming that a worker insulted him, No-Face swallows another person as his true face was revealed to the fearful workers.

He is next seen throwing a tantrum in a guest room, asking to see Chihiro. With his offering of gold rejected a third time No-Face shows sadness when Chihiro mentions that No-Face could not give her "what she truly wants". After being fed the last of Chihiro's emetic dumpling, No-Face started to regurgitate everything he has eaten. He chased Chihiro as be was belching the food he had stuffed himself with until he slammed into the side of a lift. He got up only to spit Aogaeru and the other two workers out of him making him return to the same size he was when he was first seen in the movie. He followed Chihiro to the train station platform where Chihiro suddenly trusts him to not eat her. When the two reach swamp bottom, they follow a path to find Zeniba (Yubaba's twin sister). Yubaba always described her as an evil witch but Zeniba is in fact nicer and has a motherly feel to her. No-Face learns to knit and sew there and he ends up staying there with Zeniba to learn from her away from the bd influences of the bathhouse.

Nowadays:

Now thinking he has changed his ways, No-Face is returning to the bathhouse to see if he really has. Little did he know, he would meet a little someone along the way...

Kanoashi happens to be in the other part of the train. It had finally re-done the going back system from taking the train to walking to taking the train again. Hopefully he doesn't react the same as last time in the bathhouse. He doesn't want any more trouble with anyone as looking back at it, he hated it.

Rou turns around to see Kayu snarling at him. His face told her that he didn't care. He picks up the bucket full of sludge and goes outside and pours it into a wheelbarrow. The sludge storage room wasn't far away. They use it as fertilizer for the crops for the workers. He gave up on the mop for now until most of the sludge is gone. He gets two more buckets full of sludge into the wheelbarrow before taking it to the storage room across the bridge. It's been there for about a year now and it's been proved useful to him and a few of the other workers. Some workers have left since Yubaba went missing but he didn't. He has nowhere to go besides the bathhouse and it isn't too bad. He returns and brings more sludge to the store room for a while until there is barely ny sludge left.

Kanoashi steps off the train and looks left and right. It all looks different to him now. Why is the station in the country? Last time he'd been here, it was an ocean. He walks the same direction as the train left in which hopefully get him SOMEWHERE. He spots a figure in the distance walking towards a huge building that has to be the bathhouse. The person is almost there when it came to sundown and so was he.

As Kayu left, Shirou started mopping the floor again. When he'd done with the sludge, it was almost sundown and people would be starting to wake up. He has to at least do the bath rooms which he'd done the floors of. He got a towel, soaked it and started cleaning the specks of sludge off the walls and he put his things away leaving the bathrooms clean just as the workers came down.

The girl turned around and instantly recognized him. Who was this? "Ah?" No-Face says. He suddenly sees the girls eyes and recognizes her. "Hell-o" No-Face says badly (he isn't fluent yet).

Rou goes up the elevator to the sleeping quarters. He'd hand built a pretty good extension in both of the quarters by himself while everyone else was on holiday. It allowed about 1/4 of a meter space away from each other now which most though was a good thing, although they don't know he built it. They think Yubaba built it which is ridiculous. Rou gets his mat out and puts it in a corner. He believes there's no point to a blanket, it's going to be just as cold anyway.
