"Okay, now we should get to class. But first, you need to stop by the feeders." "Food!" She exclaimed doing a fist pump into the air excitedly as she was helped up. She wasn't ready for school to begin, but she did enjoy it and couldn't wait to eat. It was still early for her, but she followed Reilly out into the empty hallway. The dorm halls were barely decorated besides from random abstract paintings hanging that Ariel didn't understand. For the walk to the outside door Reilly wasn't talking as much as usual, Ariel just caught him staring at her when she glanced at him. She knew it was the protector in him looking out for her from danger even though the school for the most part was save.
Ariel had skidded on her toes to the glass door and held it open for Reilly then walked out behind him. With him being in front she put her arms around his waist and squeezed lightly to give him a hug from behind. "I'm not ready for school yet." She complained pouting as she took Reilly's arm and put it around her when she had moved and rested against his right side as her arms were still tangled against his back and waist. "But learning for the most part I do enjoy learning!" With that she looked up at him and shot him a smile.
Snuggling her head into his chest she let out a relaxed sigh and shut her eyes. "I'm blind right now so you have to be my seeing eye dog." Telling him this she covered her mouth with her elbow and let out a small yawn; she was still tired. Letting her right hand fall from his back and to her side she used her left hand and untangled her fingers to the hand that rested across her shoulder of Reilly's.
Opening her eyes she looked out to see they were almost to the feeders then up at Reilly who was glancing between her and what was in front of them. At the way he was acting she could help but giggle, she found it cute how he was always looking out for her, he might have been breed for that purpose but she felt like he did it because he loved her in a sense. "Yummy, yummy, yummy blood."She whispered using a sing-song voice. Ariel was in a bliss that she was about to get blood. She had always found it strange that Morois' feed but Dhampirs' didn't, blood tasted good, not enough to have it all the time, but was good and energizing. "Why don't Dhampir's have to drink blood?" Questions Reilly's her eyes grew big with curiosity. To her blood was: energy giving, tasty, and warm to drink causing her to like it. Her favorite part about blood was that it was warm when it when down her throat. "Because you're half Moroi, I guess I just don't understand." Even though she didn't understand it she knew how things were.
Moroi's eat human food and drink some blood; Dhampirs' eat human food; and Strigois' drink blood. "Think of Strigois'," bring her thoughts into the open, "why are you on edge today as if there was one here? You haven't been talking much and you're looking at me more than usual." Not being worried or concerned about the topic of a Strigoi being on school ground because if there was one she knew Reilly would protect her. To Ariel one of the best things about her protector was that he was the best Dhampir as school, allowing her to never unease about her safety.
"Age ain't nothin' but a number, Sugar, remember that." She had quipped childishly. "Trust me, I know so." He sighed and watched her not wanting to take her from his sight. Grey had never liked that thought of not being by her side twenty-four-seven because something could go wrong and he wouldn't be there in time; to him he thought that all Dhampirs' should get to share a room with their Morois', but if course that idea was frowned upon. Not trusting other people to protect
his Nila was hard, the school hasn't picked them to be together she had picked him. Remembering the day he saved her never left his mind, always reminding him the school hasn't been there for Nila. "And, hey! Don't be a smart mouth to me!" Retorting it back towards her.
Nila sighed causing Grey to get the feeling he was boring her; something he probably did to often.
"I got my blood before you came down," "Good", reassuring to himself mentally that she had gotten blood, "I'm happy you did if
this time without being reminded." All of times it someway managed to slip Nila's mind about blood, how? Knowing this was beyond him, he always remembered for her though. Taking caution of everything she did it was up to him to mentally have a check list for her and make sure everything always got crossed off.
Nila groaned at his long day remark, then placed her arm around Grey's shoulders.
"Your right about that, It's gonna be a long day." Nila was a smart girl and Grey knew she had no problems when it came to learning, but he also knew she didn't like sitting in a class for to long either. Most people hated sitting in the classes rooms all day, but whenever he had his class studies he didn't because he was use to sitting and reading of studying in his room anyways.
"You get the fun classes." Not believing in that opinion he busted out laughing, "Yes, because listening to Mr. Big Shot Reilly is fun while training. He thinks he's the best and everything, and he might be, but I don't enjoy hearing it ever give seconds!" Never did Grey complain to much unless something really bothered him; Reilly's bragging really bothered him. He just didn't like hearing all the time how much better Reilly thought he was over everyone else.
With her arm still being on his shoulders he patted it lightly. "You're smart though and besides you have really cool earth powers, his many other kids can say that?" Riposting back to the
boring thought of her classes. "I mean, I don't!" He never cared to much for having powers, the only thing they'd come in good for would be to protect Nila even more. "See? Learning your abilities in class has to be fun. I mean you could: move earth plates, grow flowers, attack people with vines, and so on. Now, how's learning that not fun?" Releasing soft chuckles her turned his head some so he could see her face and smiled at her as he was trying to give her a rough time. He didn't think her classes could be all that boring, well at least he wouldn't mind doing them himself, but learning was
his passion.
