Introduction
Dear Mr/Miss
I am overjoyed to inform you that you have been accepted to the one and only educational institution of dragonology in the world. St. George’s Academy of Dragonology, which is based deep in the highlands of Scotland. It is nearly inaccessible from the ground, but as many of you will already be respectable dragon riders, it seems only fitting to choose a location that isn’t easily accessed any other way. However, for students who cannot ride their dragon, perhaps because of size difficulties, there is a local man by the name of Hamish Wilson, whom will guide you through to the school.
St. George’s Academy boasts of an extended library, featuring the largest collection of text pertaining to dragons in Europe, a built in saddlery workshop, for those who have need of equipment, and state-of-the-art dragon stables and pens. Where many methods of architecture would not be able to fit such things in the nook we’re tucked in, St. George’s Academy is almost a part of the hill it stands beside, with some caves accessible through the school.
St. George’s Academy also boasts some of the greatest dragonologists of our time as teachers, including, but not limited to:
Dragon riding instructor (taken)
Dragon history Professor (taken)
Equipment making professor (taken)
Science professor (open)
Fieldwork instructor (open)
Lastly, of course, myself, Morgana Drake, as headmistress. Many of you from some of the old dragonology families will have heard of these people, but it does not matter if you haven’t. Their teaching should speak for them, so prior knowledge isn’t necessary. Some of these teachers themselves are not of the old dragonology families, as are many of the greatest dragonologists in history. I refuse to acknowledge anything you were unmounted, be you a prince, a thief, or from a dragonology family, and sincerely hope you students share my sentiment. Indeed, these are thinly veiled threats against anyone with supremist ideas in their heads.
On the 28th of August, please either fly your dragons, or travel to, the mountains due northwest of Edinburgh. If you are on the ground, Hamish Wilson will lead you through the hills to the school, which should only take an hour. If you are flying, keep heading northwest over the hills until you see the school.

"Hullo, stranger." She smiled at the dragon, whom had come to cling to the wall outside her window. They hadn't gotten much time to be together, between Morgana setting up the school, and Butterfly settling in, learning the lay of the land. Butterfly had always been thorough about things like that. Morgana thought for a moment, before she tossed her speech over onto the desk, and hoisted herself out of the window. Butterfly, figuring out what that madwoman was doing, flattened her head against the wall, allowing Morgana to slide down her neck, into the saddle. Butterfly swung off the wall and beat her graceful wings, pushing the pair upwards, until the school was about the size of a bluebird. Butterfly was already, in her head, timing how long they were out, so that Morgana would be back in time to talk to the dragonologists, while she talked to the dragons.
Elisa clipped the last buckle on the worn bridle she and Tom used, standing on the balls of her feet to reach.
"I hope this goes well." She murmured, checking how loose his bridle was. Tom didn't see why they had to go to a school for this, Elisa was a natural rider, and he could, and did, compensate for anything that could only be remedied by instruction. He realised it would teach more than just riding, but did they really need to know it? He nudged Elisa with his nose, to tell her to hurry up anyway, the sooner they were there, the sooner they knew that he was right. She laughed quietly, barely even audible in the dusty barn.
"I'm going, just give me a second." She murmured, wrapping her arms around his nose. She clambered up the pile of hay that stood on the other side of the barn, while Tom walked over so that Elisa's usual seat on his back was positioned correctly. Elisa stepped off the haybales, sliding her leg down until she sat on Tom's back with a leg on either side. She picked up the long reins, and the pair walked out of the barn, Elisa ducking the doorframe. Elisa's family stood around in the front yard of the farm, her parents looking proudly at their dragonrider, on her first day of long distance flying. Her two youngest elder brothers, Dawson and Peter, were on the clydesdale, Bessy.
"What are you two doing?" Elisa asked, leaning to the side to see past Tom's head easier. The boys almost answered, but Elisa and Tom's attention were immediately called elsewhere. Elisa's grandmother tapped Tom's shoulder, asking to be helped up, which Tom complied to, raising one leg as a step up. Nana, as she was called by her grandchildren, stepped onto the leg, and lifted onto Tom's shoulder, next to Elisa, and placed a kiss on her granddaughter's forehead.
"Good luck, my girl" She smiled, before climbing back down, with the aid of Elisa's sister, Brenda. Elisa nodded her thanks to her family, as Tom turned round to face the long dirt road that ran alongside the field. Tom started to trot along the road, and Elisa realised why Dawson and Peter had been on Bessy, as they trotted alongside. Elisa turned in her seat to wave to her family one last time, as she and Tom started to fly, and as Bessy broke into a gallop to keep up.
"Goodbye! I'll be back before you know it!" She shouted to the clydesdale, and her two riders, who were waving frantically in farewell to their youngest sibling. Elisa kept on waving until she honestly could no longer see the two, at which point she turned her head back to her and Tom's route, and took a steadying breath.

Flying was exhilarating. Racing more so. Abnäher opened its wings just before they hit the ground and beat it quickly, soaring back into the air and increasing speed to soar higher, above the clouds.
Of course, this was much more higher than the cliff. "Ready?"
The dragon roared excitedly and didn't need Derius to spur it on as it entered into a headfirst dive, accelerating quickly and dropping like a stone.
Such was the life of a rider.

Adrian sighed. At least he would be knowing a new friend here, and fast.

"Up." urging his dragon on, Derius was interested to know how this year's students were like. Abnäher roared and flung into the sky as quick as he could, using his legs as springs. Maybe this new rider was fast enough to give him a challenge.

"Morning. You a student here?" Adrian asked.

Abnäher screeched in its attempt to laugh. "Student? No. I'll be your riding instructor." Derius said, while managing to calm his dragon. the first rays of sunlight were beginning to show, and Abnäher squirmed midair. "I'll show you riding. Want to race, kid?"
The riding instructor didn't wait for a response but pulled away and soared upwards. "First to the school gates!" Derius shouted. This would be fun.

Well then, good for him. He shouted for Volcano to go on, but his words were lost in his dragon's deep, loud roar. Volcano was strong, and he was fast too, for his size. The black serpent was about the same size, but much sleeker and looked faster. He was faster. Adrian had seen him ride already. He pushed on his dragon and it curved into a long arc, overtaking the black dragon and heading towards the gates.

He had a huge lot to teach them, if all of the students flew like that. Abnäher beat his wings in a circular motion, hovering just in front of the main gates, before putting on a burst of speed and flying in the other direction, away from the new rider and the school.

This year would be exciting.

"And they're off! Derius and Abnaher have an early lead!" She started shouting commentary. Butterfly silently rolled her eyes at the madwoman she had to have bonded with, and gave a Flutterby dragon's version of a graceful chuckle, which was a quiet rumble in the throat.
Elisa saw the school first, as Tom was thinking back to how large the city they'd passed had been.
"Whoah." Elisa breathed. Or rather, she hardly dared breathe. It looked so alien to the sort of place she came from. Tom then saw it, and figured that, since they were now pretty much beyond the mountains that made entry so difficult, they could land and walk the rest of the way. He turned and looked up at Elisa, who got the message quite quickly.
"Okay, you've been flying plenty long enough." She smiled gently. She remembered the letter, as they descended, and couldn't help but wonder just how far people would have come to get to this school. She had already figured she hadn't come the farthest, but just how far away did dragons go?

Soon they would be close, close enough that other dragons could sence them.

The two landed on the ground of the school with a loud thump. Mikulas then got off his partner telling him he can do what ever he wants as he just leaned up against the gates with his hands in his pockets.

"Looks like everyone." She murmured to Butterfly, whom was already turning around, heading for the podium with the meandering flight not unlike that of her namesake. She touched down gracefully, trying to look how a headmistress' mount should, her front claws touching down to the podium. As soon as all four claws were on the ground, Morgana dropped from Butterfly's back, and took her place. Butterfly lay down behind the podium, but on the stage. Morgana smiled, but inwardly realised she only remembered the gist of her speech, and none of the actual words. She decided she would just have to make it up as she went along.
"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the newest year in St. George's Academy of Dragonology." She started, trying to think of more to say. Butterfly shifted a little behind her, deciding to take her own action.
{Dragons, may I have your attention.} She sent out with the telepathy afforded to all dragons, {I will be adding things to my rider's tour, things for only our kind to know, so that you all may enjoy your stay as much as your own riders do.}
"I welcome all of you, some for your arrival, and some for your returns. Namely, our truly brilliant teachers. Here at St. George's, you will learn all you will need to learn, to become the best you can be in whatever dragony field takes your fancy. Who knows, maybe we have a few of the future's headmasters in this crowd now." Morgana continued, leaning forward with her elbow on the podium.
"I'll be giving you guys a tour, starting with the dragon stables, where your dragons will be living, and staying while we handle the tour. But first, we should take a looksee at the grounds, hmm?" Morgana grinned, leaning back off the podium.
Elisa hopped off of Tom as soon as they were beyond the gates. Elisa stared into the air, holding the scruffy reins that Tom wore, watching all the dragons. She'd only ever seen pictures of dragons other than Tom in the newspaper, and the very few times a wild dragon had come close enough to civillisation that it could be seen from the farm. She'd never seen so many in one place, or so many different sorts of dragons. She was quite awestruck to say the least, since Tom had to nudge her along with his nose so that she was close enough to hear the headmistress. She listened quietly, standing near the back of the group. She looked around the group, at the dragons, and wondered if dragons had breeds, or just looked that different between them.

Farwind sniffed the Pegusas in return "Hey there. I'm Farwind, and you will have to excuse Mikulas he is a little on the off side to introductions", the dragon said to the other one. Farwind then fluttered his cloud-like wings in response of seeing a pegasuses wings.
Mikulas then looked up at the lady that was explaining everyone on what to do. He also noticed her dragon and figured she was speaking in he own tongue to the other dragons. "Well, I guess that means we head to the stables", Mikulas said to Farwind.

{When we get to the stables, my rider will explain how good they are to your riders, while I explain to you how they can be opened, in case of an emergency.} Explained Butterfly to the other dragons. Soon enough, the group walked up to the building.
"Up there, is where you come in if you're flying in. It can be locked up, but we tend not to do that without legitimate concern for the dragon's safeties." Morgana grinned, gesturing to a platform above everyone's heads as the walked through the archway at the bottom.
{A good swoop can get you through the archway down here if that's shut, but if the need is that great, and you're that strong, the doors can be broken down.} Butterfly added, gently. She and Morgana led the group within the stables. Looking into the stables provided views of almost cave like features, perfect for dragons, and attesting that this was one of the buildings built into the mountains.
"These stalls are built to mimic a dragon's natural sleeping place, a cave system. Some dragon breeds live in slightly different habitats, so that's why we have different levels. Each level represents a different habitat. Mind you, these stalls also made with riders in mind, with flat floors so a rider carrying tack isn't in as much danger of falling." Morgana explained, gesturing to the different parts of the stables. She caught Butterfly's reins, and showed the newer-to-this students how to stable their dragons, telling everyone to do so, so they could continue the tour inside.
Elisa listened intently, hardly understanding a word, but still slightly in awe of the school. She followed close behind the headmistress, Mrs. Drake, she assumed. Unless she was Professor Drake, which she might have been, Elisa was sure she could remember some of the other staff being called professor. Tom raised his eyebrow at the female dragon when she explained she was going to show them how to escape if they wanted. What if there was a dragon that didn't like it's owner? But, Tom kept his stony silence, still in a bit of a huff. He felt Elisa tug on his reins in the stables, and noticed that the head was showing the riders how to stable their beasts. Elisa, on the other hand, wasn't paying as much attention, as she built up her courage.
"Excuse me?" She asked, continuing when Mrs./Professor Drake looked over. "Do dragons have breeds? What breed is Tom?" Elisa inclined her head towards the brown dragon beside her. Mrs./Professor Drake looked at Tom, and he tried to stand proud and tall.
"He's your average Western Red, methinks." Mrs./Professor Drake answered, grinning. Elisa raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"But he's brown." Elisa stated, wondering vaguely if the headmistress was colourblind. Mrs./Professor laughed quietly, and goodnaturedly.
"Yes, the name is rather misleading, Western Reds that are actually red are in fact very rare. St. George rode one." Mrs./Porfessor Drake explained.
