Even though food was sometimes scarce, and homelessness was ripe amidst the sprawling landscape of shoddy homes and scrap debris, somehow people still wanted their engines fixed. Where they managed to find such things or how they thought they could make use of such things Wyvern didn't want to know. It seemed like a pointless endeavour to drag a battered old engine, or sometimes even a full car or bike, all the way to Saunders' shop in the Cove, and fork over their wares to get the thing running where it was no use to anyone, but Max wasn't about to complain. It kept him fed and clean, and often enough he had bits left over to give back to the community. Eventually he'd convinced himself that he was doing a service, and it kept his mechanical expertise sharp.

The particular engine at which Max stared down at now, however, seemed like a complete lost cause. He could tell from its size that it had been salvaged from an HGV, one clearly not in a good state of repair to begin with. Wyvern rubbed his hands together uncertainly as he looked over the many dents in the pistons, and grimaced when he saw that most of the spark plugs had long since fried. “I dunno, guy,” the mechanic voiced with a low whistle, and turned to the man who had brought the engine in for his examination, “maybe if I had the parts... But there's a lot that could be in better shape.” With practised precision the wrench in Max's hand was used to pry free one of the broken spark plugs, which was then extended for the stranger's examination, “totally killed off. That ain't somethin' I can fix. Ain't somethin' no man can fix. I guess if you bring me a few more engines, I can see what I can reuse and build you a new one... Depends what I can find though...”

This exchange continued until an agreement was reached by the two men, and the customer left to seek the parts required for the HGV engine's repair. Maxwell, meanwhile, took hold of one of the many large hooks that dangled on long, worn chains from the make-shift pulley system that was mounted to the roof of the shop, and hooked it to one of the bent pistons on the engine. He did this with three more hooks, and wandered over to a great winch bolted to the wall of the shop. He barely grunted with the strain it took to wind the chains taunt, and crane the large engine up to hover below the ceiling, suspended in place above the heads of any who would pass through. Wyvern dusted himself off and took a moment to look around the shop, around the shoddy structure composed of various metal sheets bolted and welded together to form three walls and a ceiling, with the front left open and exposed to the elements, and an old door frame cut into one of the walls to allow the placement of a wooden door that looked fairly new compared to the rest of the shop, which lead into the hut stuck to the workshop's side, where Maxwell ate, slept and maintained his escrima training. It was also where he kept his tools, the workshop not being very theft-proof. All there was to steal from the shop, however, was a few sheets of scrap metal, a heavy chest of lead containing various scavenged car parts, a large wooden table on which was situated several small boxes, filled with nuts, bolts, screws and various other engineering miscellanea, and the HGV engine now hanging above Wyvern's head.

"Your fired."
A shocking look came across Nikki's face; she was fired? From one of the few paying jobs within in the city? "We needed to make budget cuts and fire some of our employees, and well, sorry to say, but your one of them." The man said, not making any eye contact with her. Great. The only job she could manage to nab, she gets fired from; it was hardly enough to pay for rent, but now, she'll become evicted. "You can come by this Sunday to get your check." He started to fiddle with things, making himself look busy so Nikki couldn't interrupt by asking questions.

"I understand, but if its no trouble, may I have my pay now?" She asked, her voice stern. The least she could do was pack up during the night and leave without a trace, keeping the money to herself to live off of for the week. The man looked at her, before giving a light sigh and pulling out his wallet, handing her the money. "I want you cleared out by tonight." He let out an aggravated vibe before leaving the office; she just looked down at the money he had just given her, trying to take things in.

After a few minutes of internal mourning, she got up and slipped her money into her skirt's 'hidden' pocket that lied on the inside of her skirt instead of the outside. She walked out the office, sighing silently; her hair was pulled back into a low, messy bun, and she was in her usual white and black attire (white polo-like button up turtle neck with a black, knee-length skirt).

After she had packed up her stuff, which wasn't much counting that she is carrying out a pencil that she had brought into work; she was heading what seemed like the only standing motel within the entire area. She figured that she could take some of her clothes and even her suitcase to try and sell it at the Cove, but she could only sell a limited amount of items, since the outfit she was wearing and two more outfits that included the same shirt and one dress pants and one jeans pants was the only clothing she had.

She hated going to the Cove though, it was broken, just like the rest of everything. Its not like she was against the Hierarchy, it was just that she hated being trapped, hated being controlled. She didn't concern herself with the Hierarchy and it's plan with the humans; but if she had to chose, it'd be humans. Why? Just because they had just a smudge bit more of freedom than those in the Hierarchy; it wasn't much, but it was more than them. As Nikki kept walking, she could hear somewhat of a commotion in the background, but like always, paid no mind to it.

It wasn't long till she reached a broken down building that had the letters M and O missing from the word, 'motel'. She walked into a single room with a bed, a bathroom and a kitchen that seemed to be in all one single place; she hated this place. It was highly infested with rodents and bugs that she would have to kill almost daily and on top of that, she had to keep her clothes inside her suit case on top of the dresser, since everything else was infested with some kind of bug she knows nothing of.

She gave a sigh before walking to the bathroom, which had mold covering the corners and a slimy substance along the facet, grabbing her small bottles of shampoos and soaps, putting them in the bag with her clothes. She opened the small fridge to find what was suppose to be left over noodles, but instead, she found a hole in the back of the fridge and no noodles. This flared her temper even more, she was hungry and aggravated from the day and just wanted to enjoy her noodles, which she couldn't because of the rats.

Before a living thing could react, she quickly turned around and made the floor become unbearably hot; having what seemed like twenty or thirty different rats and bugs shoot across her floor. It was her way of pay back for the filthy animals. She raised the temperature even more, almost to the point where smoke rose, and finally, one by one, the rats died and the bugs sank. The only reason she didn't do this before was because she didn't want to clean up the mess. The carpet was almost crunchy like, the ends of the carpet strands became black from her burning it.

She turned herself fully around and walked to grab her bag, leaving the key in the room and the door open as she started to walk towards the Cove; Nikkie could already tell, that this was already going to be a long day, night and tomorrow.

The Ace of Spades looked out on the vast city, and beyond into the relative drabness known as the Cove. She sipped the red wine she held in her hand as her hazel eyes scanned the cityscape. Eyes never leaving the scene outdoors, Pandora raised the cigarette to her lips and inhaled. As she exhaled, she felt, rather than heard, a small beating. The unmistakable rhythm of a pulse. She froze, the cigarette halfway from her mouth. A rat's pulse. She recognized it from her childhood, when she'd practice using her abilities on pests that ran about. Pandora's head swiveled in the direction of the pulse. Sure enough, there was a rat scuttling about near the corner. She turned back to the window, and brought her cigarette back to her lips. A squeal. A spatter. She didn't need to look to know that the corner was painted with the creature's blood.

Taking a small device from her pocket, Pandora pressed the button and spoke. "Vincent. Come here," she said primly and put the small device away. Minutes later, a knock on the door. "Enter," she called. In walked a sheepish looking young man. He looked on edge, as he should.

"Vincent, what is that," she said, motioning to the rat carcass in the corner. She heard a muffled "Mother of God!" from the young man. She cleared her throat and turned to the door. "I want you and this mess gone by the time I return." She didn't bother giving him a time frame; he'd get it done all the faster.

Leaving her glass on the counter and putting out her cigarette in the ashtray by the door, Pandora left her room and began descending down to a lower level, where the general living area resided. As she descended, she heard the familiar voice of the Jack of Spades, Aurora, greet the other three Hierarchy members. Pandora maneuvered around her and stood by the wall next to the stairs. She rubbed her temple, bothered by the incident upstairs, and greeted the four herself. "Good morning, all."

There was a small thunk resounding within a sealed off room. Two figures were each running against each other, back and forth, the thunk always there. Sweat glistened off of each one's forehead and arms, and each held something in their hands. Kintry laughed cheerfully, swatting at the tennis ball again. "Oh come now, it isn't as much fun if you don't try! How am I ever supposed to get better if you don't get better!?" The girl crossed her arms after swinging once more, a playful pout along her lips.

The other person just remained silent, continuing to hit the ball back to Kintry herself. With one final swoop, the Ace struck the ball down, having it hit the ground before the other could dive and make a save. "Good game." She smirked, and then walked over to the other person, her arms behind her head. The fem's hand reached out, and the other person disappeared.

"Hmm, shower, and then lets go see what's up downstairs!" She raced to the shower, meanwhile, something was clicking and scraping against the floors as the figure ran along. She soon came to the bathroom, a bright smile on her face. The girl then stepped in, turning the shower faucet to the left. Kintry's entire form then shifted into that of a mouse, and the water hit her very gently. She then began to clean herself with her fur, only taking about a minute before returning back to normal and turning the faucet off. She replaced her clothing, then jumped out of the room, racing towards the stairs. She smirked, that same girl reappearing. "Race ya to the next floor!" And then the two raced downwards.

"I win!" She announced laughingly, knowingly. The form disappeared for the last time, and she stepped off of the steps. The blue-eyed girl glanced about herself before walking at a brisk pace towards one of the doors, taking in the sounds of the others. Not to mention the wreckage from her dear king of clubs. She smiled brightly with a small chuckle, entering into the room.

"But you know, paying for repairs on the walls all the time can get a bit boring and don't you pity the ones who need to fix it even a little bit?" Ogar was greeted by the ace of hearts.

Ogar lightly chuckled at the question as he sauntered past him. "Of course not." He answered, demonstrating once more that he has no grasp on the concept of an indoor voice. "If it wasn't for me, they wouldn't have jobs. Ogar's boosting the economy!"

Ogar moved to a couch on the far wall, and fell onto it, causing the couch to sink. He chuckled some more as he kicked out his feet and laid back in the sofa. He had no idea how exhausted he had been.

Ogar's good mood persisted, even as more and more of the Hierarchy entered the room. As each one entered and greeted the inhabitants of the room, Ogar returned their greetings with one of his own. "Ogar is pleased to see you!"

At last, the Ace of Clubs had entered, and Ogar altered his greeting. "Kintry! Ogar's especially pleased to see you!" He said, still maintaining his cocky grin. Ogar had a special kinship with fellow clubs, as he assumed most everybody had. "Come sit by Ogar!" Ogar knew that this being an Ace, she was technically Ogar's superior, but Ogar refused to acknowledge this and insisted on treating her as an equal.

After spending a long day at the health clinic for the non-Hierarchy citizens and traversing through The Cove, the slender and brightly outfitted club had finally arrived in front of The Spire. Gwen may not have been a face or even a high ranking individual, her abilities have always made her someone to watch and be called upon in case of an emergency. She didn't really mind that she wasn't given the choice between living in or out of The Hierarchy since they took her in after her parent agreed that she should be with her own SUIT kind.

A soft sigh passed her lips after her long trek across the bustling city and fumbled around in her small handbag to find her keys. Obviously they didn't want to have just anybody enter the very tall building which loomed over the Hierarchy nation. Her hand felt the familiar cool metal that was her small pistol she had to keep with her at all times for protection. Just because she was a watched person doesn't mean her abilities helped her fight. Beggars can't be choosers when it comes to a SUIT's abilities. At last, she found her dainty key that will grant her entrance.

Once she had got inside, her ears picked up a small rumble before the building's structure had, what appeared to be the equivalant of a human shiver. At first she was quite frightened, but then realized that it must be the work of the King of Clubs. Her eyebrows only furrowed ever so slightly to show her disappointment of breaking things, but in the end, there is cleary nothing she could do about it, so Gwen had laughed it off mentally before she had started to climb up the stairs.

Kintry smiled brightly, her entire face seeming to light up as she took in Ogar's greeting. She chuckled brightly, ignoring the suit of the Spades, as she didn't particularly like them. Well, most of them anyway. The girl brightly waved to Lawrence. "Morning, afternoon! Whichever it is, it's all the same to me." She then trotted straight over to the couch Ogar was currently overtaking and plopped right onto his lap. "Anything new Ogar-kiva? You know, if you want, we could have a contest later to see who can break the most walls." The girl clapped her hands together, a playful smirk on her face as she nodded in agreement to her own idea. It sounded peachy, but it was up to Ogar really. If not, she would definitely be running off somewhere to go train by herself. Perhaps the Cove, perhaps the mountains. Ooh, the forest sounds nice too. "Well enough of us by any rate, what's up with everyone today! Hope you're all having just a brilliant time!" That same smirk reappeared, but her facial features showed cheer rather than malice. Though she was pulling their legs in a sense.

"Hey, King of Spades! You should come lean against this wall over here by us instead!" Once more, the fem flashed him a bright smile and a chuckle, sweeping her arm towards the wall next to the couch. "I for one think we should get more windows. Windows are good, right Ogar-kiva?"

Lex Ashford

It wasn't long before Lex could see the sheet metal rooftops and corrugated steel doors of the Cove. He knew he had to get to the warehouse before anyone decided to mug him for whatever he had in his pack. He pulled out his knife an twirled it between his hands as he walked through the labyrinth of houses and shops all intertwined with each other. Lex managed to fit right in with everyone else. He was dirty, sweaty, and a very human smell. While he walked he saw a man jumping from rooftop to rooftop and noticed that he was relatively cleaner than the common Cove inhabitant. If anything that man would probably be a buyer for his meat.

"Hey!" he shouted at the man. "You there! With the leather jacket jumping around like Spider-Man! Hey!" Lex was so focused on the man jumping around that he didn't notice the girl with silver hair and ran into her, knocking the bread out of her hands and knocking her onto her butt.

"Jeez!" he exclaimed. "Oh crap! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to run into you. Are you okay?" Lex held out his hand trying to help the girl out. "Let me help you. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to run into you." Lex blushed. The girl was about his age and extremely attractive. She looked clean, at least before he knocked her on to the dirt ground. He wanted to get her something for knocking what seemed to be her only food out of her hands.

Rose couldn't help but glance up at Lawrence and roll her eyes. He looked like he was towering over her when he stood there. If he had been any other rank she would have stood up to even it up a bit, but there was no point. He was an Ace, which whether she liked it or not, was higher ranked than a Queen. Smiling at him she said, "It's like you can read my mind Lawrence." She put her legs back on the floor just as Ogar burst into the room. Now he was not an Ace, she could be disrespectful to him, but she wasn't awake enough to be compeletly rude. Instead she sighed as he walked in and muttered under her breathe. "And Ogar, the destroyer of all things he touches, arrives."

Aurora entered the room soon after and Rose gave her a nod of acknowledgment. When Pandora entered the room however, Rose couldn't help but smile. 'And the morning person arrives!' she thought to herself. As Lawrence made a joke about her underwear Rose couldn't help but giggle. He really did have his fun moments. She wasn't even bored anymore! All it took was multiple suit members to enter the room.

Ogar stated that he was boosting the economy and she couldn't argue with that, but couldn't he mix it up a bit? Stain in the carpet, dirty shirt, soes with the heel torn off even. The poor people are probably bored to death from having to only fix walls. As Meiri came in however, Rose looked the ohter way and scowled at her ignorance. She actually stood up for a moment, not caring if the others were suprised by her showing a bit of anger. Quickly though she got control of her emotions and simply said to the girl. "You should learn how to speak in front of the Suits." Then with a wave of dismissal, she compeltely shut out the girl existing in the same room as them and said as Dmitri walked in. "Nothing important. You just came as things began to be entertaining. She sat back down and looked at her robe. She should probably change, but if she did she would probably miss the whole conversation. She would change later, she decided.

Pandora felt the chill and the new pulse before she saw the person. She looked up and saw Jace, the ever-somber Ace of Diamonds. He looked tense, as if there were something urgent that had come up. His words proved her correct.

"It seems that everyone here is enjoying themselves during their down time." He paused here."I'd like to talk to everyone about something that would seem to encompass us all."

Pandora met his gaze evenly and crossed her arms, adopting her usual pose when there was an important matter, especially one concerning the Hierarchy and its integrity, that had surfaced. She blinked her hazel eyes once, then raised an eyebrow, eyes and ears tuned to him, anticipating his announcement. Pandora allowed herself the luxury of curiosity. She wondered what could be so urgent, and how it affected the Hierarchy.

Dmitri chuckled when the Ace of Clubs made her offer and shrugged. "Afraid not, I'm already leaning comfortably. Tis nothing personal." He nodded in response to having missed nothing, inclining his thanks for being caught up to speed to Rose.

"It seems that everyone here is enjoying themselves during their down time." He paused here."I'd like to talk to everyone about something that would seem to encompass us all."

That, and the drop in temperature announced the arrival of the Ace of Diamonds. He was a somber fellow, more than his fair share of it no doubt, although he never brought it up. He was right to the point, and he went from person to person, meeting each of their gazes. Dmitri met the Ace's gaze evenly, nodding his respect and attention. That was all, and he uncrossed his arms, letting them fall to his side. Other than that, he just waited to hear about what was so threatening towards everyone, or at least encompassed them all.

Edei had managed to wind her way through the corridors of the Spire until finally she was just a handful of steps behind Jace, the Ace of her suit. His presence was always felt moments before he actually arrived and she heard the conversations begin to subside, even before his mouth opened and his voice rang out quite clearly among the others. She walked in as everyone was responding to him and inclined her head in acknowledgement that she, of course, would be attentive as well as she crossed through the common area to the kitchen to grab something to eat. After the morning's work out, she was famished.

Keeping an ear open for anyone else that spoke, Edei poured herself a glass of orange juice from the fridge, then popped the carton back into the cold box before scraping together some semblance of food. A quick batch of scrambled eggs, some toast, bacon, etc with extra laid out on plates just in case anyone else wanted to stop by and grab something. She may be semi-anti social but she wasn't rude.

Rose was just about to get back up and show her that she wasn't supposed to grovel, although she wouldn't mind that, but she wasn't supposed to show disrespect either. Everyone had been taught how to act in front of royalty! She had placed her arm on the side and was going to discipline her, that was her job after all, when she felt the room temperature drop. "And so he arrives." She said just before Jace strutted into the room. She ignored the shiver that went through her, it happened every time she saw him and she was so used to it it didn't even matter.

She saw some faces show a hint of...what was that, fear? Maybe so. She could tell some of the others were afraid of him, she wasn't. He couldn't harm her with his powers. Controlling cold? Great, let me get some water so I can make ice for my lemonade. Control water too? See what happens when you try to use that on me. She wasn't sure if he controlled heat of not but if she did then he could make her bedroom her own personal sauna. It was her power that made her so unafraid, and she really had a reason to be. As far as she knew, his powers couldn't touch her.

"I'd like to talk to everyone about something that would seem to encompass us all."

So the big words come out. But it was Jace and he had information she needed. So she leaned back, relaxed, and listened. "Well don't leave us waiting," she said, "Let's hear it."

"Sorry, pal, but this is mine!" The teleporter cried as the cat/Ace leaped forward, her intended goal obvious. At the last moment, the Spade kicked off the floor, pushing her chair back and throwing the muffin across the room, toward the open door. As the chair struck the wall, she continued her rather over-the-top reaction by warping distance to bring the chair crashing down from the ceiling, dropping back into its original position from before she had entered in her usual dramatic manner. However, when it re-appeared, she was not sitting in it. Instead, she strode through the door at that very same instant, catching the still-airborne muffin as she did so and gobbling the rest of it up.

"So, what is it? Please tell me it's something fun!"

Not a whole lot was said before the term 'eavesdropper' came within earshot. "Oh no... I knew this was a bad idea", Gwen thought to herself. "Maybe since I didn't hear much, it'll be alright if I leave now... I don't want to get in trouble," she kept thinking as she came up from her crouch slowly. She started back away carefully, trying not to bring any attention to herself. Once she thought she was safe, the blonde one turned around to start heading back and try to get back home. It was in fact a very long day. However, her green eyes had suddenly saw a woman dressed in what looked like deep crimson as well as a cape. The surprise of this person had given her a 'deer in the headlights' look, so to speak. Her legs were stuck in one place for a long time, not sure of what to do.

"I-I'm sorry. I wasn't sure what I was doing," she blurted out quickly and quietly. As she said that, Gwen had quickly tried to pass the woman to just get on with her life and pretend this never happened. Unfortunately, the worst thing happened. She tripped on the flowing fabric that the woman was wearing and just as quickly hit the ground. The lanky girl was mortified. Of course she was notoriously clumsy, but this was a terrible time to have happen. She had no idea what her power or status was, Gwen just wanted to get the hell out of this horrible situation. "I'm so sorry," was all she could think of to say. The blond was very sincere and was just scared out of her mind. She quickly got up and attempted to speed walk away from the area and hope no one else see and hopefully have the redheaded one to just have a good sense of humor and forget about this.

When Flynn had stormed into the room, Ogar chuckled at her rage. It was the same old routine every morning, practically. No one appreciated all the great works Ogar brings to the Spire. Nobody appreciates the new doorways, which were often more convenient than the old ones. No one appreciates his bongo music late at night. No one seems to like his burping competitions during lunch. But Ogar didn't mind it much. Ogar does what Ogar likes, and if other's disapprove, that just makes it more fun.

But Ogar didn't have the chance to respond to Flynn's complaint. That's when things got crazy.

Jace entered and Kintry jumped off of his lap and transformed into a kitten. He kind of wished she would've done that while still on his lap. He had a soft spot for cats, though it wasn't something he often admitted. Then there was attempted muffin snatching and some teleportation action. Ogar bellowed in laughter. It was the funniest sight he's seen all day. He almost forgot about Jace and his important message. But it didn't take long for him to remember.

"Whoa! Everyone!" He shouted. "The ace of diamonds has something to say! Ogar thinks we should all sit and listen!"

Rose heard all the suggestions and couldn't help but state her own. "I don't think we should stoop down to spying. Police forces andd shifts maybe but don't you think they would like that even less? We need a solution that doesn't anger them any more than they already are." She couldn't help but feel stupid, in a meetin with pajamas. She felt like she couldn't be taken seriousl, even if the robe looked royal. "I think we should mak a public appearance. Inform them we are aware of the uprising and warn them about the disciplines that will be used if they go out with this rebelion." She stated the last part matter of factly. She alway liked just stating what she thought, and thia was a perfect solution to her. She continued. "If they fail to take our warning and stop this foolishness, then we step in again. With force."

At that last part she cpuldn't help but smile. They could all get out of tjis blasted spire if they took her plan into consideration. She would have to dress up but she was learning to get used to formal clothes. Police could be struck down, starting a riot. Spies could be found lut, plus hiding was not what royalty did. She really needed tp get out of here though. If they didn't have an idea that included her getting out, even for a bit, she would have to get out on her own, which she never did. Suits were to be protected, but she hated having guards, so instead of being rude and ordering them to leave her alone she just never left the building.

Flynn watched, highly amused though her face showed only annoyance, as Kintry made herself obnoxious. Though, Flynn had to admit, Kintry had a way of lightening the mood everywhere she went. Even her previous grumpiness at Ogar slowly began to fade as she watched the Ace's antics. She began to wonder how such a light-hearted, playful person could manage to become an Ace in the first place. However, her thoughts soon turned from this. It was almost like an unspoken rule among the Clubs not to speculate on it.

Her thoughts then turned to the 10 of spades. Flynn wondered why the girl was even here. She wasn't really an "important" face card like the rest. It seemed like more than one were already getting a bit irritated with the girl. Flynn felt that the girl reminded her of herself at that age. This only made her dislike the girl more, for whatever reason. Flynn finally understood the irritation her superiors felt when she never seemed to listen, not that she in any way regretted it.

Flynn's attention came back to Jace as seemed to scold several people in the room, herself, Ogar, and Kintry included. I am completely calm, she thought almost angrily to herself. He began explaining the situation at the Cove. Some sort of rebellion? Or was it really just increase crime? Flynn didn't think he would call such a meeting if it was only the latter. Several people gave their opinion, a few of which she thought were valid solutions. However, before she could really come up with something to do, she did need to know more.

"What sort of crimes are they committing?" she said in a nearly demanding tone.

Ogar sat and tried to follow along with the conversation. There were a lot of good points being made, but he didn't understand why they weren't doing anything. Several people have already gone up to get food from the kitchen, and one person left the room entirely. Everyone else appeared to be arguing about how to deal with the Cove, but he hardly understood any of it. Some people seemed to be suggesting to do something. Others seemed to be suggesting to do nothing, hoping to do something eventually. And others wanted to do nothing while pretending to do something. It confused Ogar, and caused him to become very frustrated.

"Why are we still talking?" Ogar asked, nearly yelling. "We need to go out there and attack the problem head on! If we see somebody causing a problem, we stomp them! It isn't that hard!" He stood up, to emphasize his point. "Whatever we need to do. Kill them. Kill their family. Destroy their homes. Destroy their businesses. We send the message that trouble making behavior will not be tolerated. And if that doesn't make it stop, we keep going. And we'll keep going until all of the Cove is annihilated. Either way, we rid ourselves of the problem."

Ogar sat back into the couch. "Or we can stay here and talk some more. The problems get worse and worse. Doesn't matter to me much."
