Introduction

Star Wars
The Old Republic
Legacy

Peace is fragile as a cold war escalates between the Galactic Empire and The Republic. A peace treaty put forth by The Empire and adopted by The Republic out of desperation could never hope to end the violence for long.

Die-Hard loyal to the republic, a soldier named Joab August fights for peace in the contested outer rim territories, just far enough outside of both Republic and Imperial space that skirmished between the two sides in these areas will not violate the peace treaty.

Hoping to win the loyalty of his son, Chase August, Joab has been relentlessly pursuing Chase across the galaxy, for over eight years. But Chase, who for personal reasons despises The Republic, refuses to join his father in the fighting. Tensions are high, and both Joab and Marco are volatile and unstable individuals. Very soon... something is bound to break.

Angela sneered. "Don't be stupid, of course I know how to use one of these..." She snatched the hydrospanner from Artemis' hands and examined it, the annoyed expression on her face switching to one of confusion as she turned and flipped it around in her palms, mumbling to herself

Andred eyed the tool in her grasp warily. "You have no idea how to use it, do you?"

"Not a clue," she replied, looking up and grinning, twirling it between her fingertips. "Great time to find out."

An exasperated sigh escaped his lips. "Idiot...Spent too much time around the rich to learn any practical skills..."

A flick of her wrist, the high-pitched whistle of something splitting the air, and the hydrospanner buried itself several inches deep into the tree next to the Miraluka's head. The force of the impact left cracks rippling up the tree, causing pieces of the bark to fall away. Andred gave an uncomfortable shift, moving away from the impaled pine, and the small, fuming human in front of him approached.

"Y'know, I never did tell you how I lost my eye...." she mused, wrapping her fingers around the handle of the tool and ripping it from the tree. "It's a long story, and I'll spare you the details. But it involved lots of small, pointy objects." She peered up at her companion. "I suppose you're safe from any injuries to the eyes, but something so small and sharp could still do some serious damage to, say, an eardrum..." She tapped the device thoughtfully against the side of her head, right where one of her scars intersected with the shell of her ear. A false smile was plastered on her face. "So be nice to me. Because you have to sleep at some point."

She turned on her heels, strolling back over to the odd box on the ground. "That goes for you too, guy-liner," she added to Artemis, before prodding at the box roughly with the hydrospanner. "Anyway, time's a' wastin'. Let me at this thing."

Andred hung back for a moment before going to help. My boss is a complete freak...

"Better watch who you're threatening," Marco said as he approached Angela and the rest of the group, "I've already locked one psychopath in a cell today, and there's room for another." He put the crate he was carrying down at the foot of a lofty pine and stepped toward Angela slowly. "Then again," he said thoughtfully, "she's still alive only because she's useful, and Artemis's kin, so I'd suggest less threatening..." He paused, now within reach of her, and swiftly snatched the hydrospanner from her hand, waving it at her face tauntingly, "and more working. Because I don't take kark off of anybody, and if you have any intention of pulling any stupid stunts, you'd better be blasted sure you're really useful to me. Otherwise, I have a dozen friends and a lot of weapons that say you aren't gonna do jack. Are we clear, Ms. Vanite?" He looked her dead in her good eye, smirking slightly with both his lips and eyes, but letting his eyebrows sink dangerously.

Angela stared up at him, a wicked half-smile twisting her features. She held his gaze for a few long moments before chuckling darkly and rolling her eyes. "Ooooh, getting all serious, threats and all. Duly noted, sir." She gave a mocking salute. "I'll do my best to stay on the good side of the people with weapons. But don't expect me to hold my tongue all the time. I have rights, y'know."

She took a few steps back, and held out her hand expectantly. "I'd appreciate the hydrospanner back." She grinned. "I promise I'll behave...I'll have Andred supervise me." She gestured to the Miraluka, who was trying his best just to stay out of the whole awkward situation.

Andred waved his hand at her dismissively. "I'm not being responsible for you and your sadistic tendencies. Just be useful elsewhere."

Angela grumbled, and glared up at Marco, her hands planted on her hips. "Fine. What else can I do?"

Marco frowned and looked around for Aura, who was emerging from the treeline just then, staggering slightly, but trying her best to look as though she wasn't. "Let's see," he said to Angela, then raised his voice to grab Aura's attention, "Aura, are we almost ready to proceed?"

The descending shuttle's engines were almost roaring now, and the limbs on the trees around them were whipping in the wind emanating from the craft. Marco chanced a glance upward to see that it was only a hundred meters short of landing in the nearby clearing.

Aura gave Marco a thumbs up. She grimaced as she felt her back spasm again but managed to hide the discomfort (it was less-severe than before). She glanced over the machine and nodded approvingly. "Get in the open where they can see you Marco. As soon as that loading ramp descends all communications go down and we have three minutes, tops. "

Aura activated the charge on her rifle and tampered a bit more with the machine as Marco stepped out into the clearing by himself. She held her finger up to her lips and gave a pointed look at Angela, then a wink to show she was joking. This one is turning out to be just as crazy as the rest of them. Maybe she won't stab me in the back.... It'd probably end up hurting her more than myself. Shaking her head to focus, she turned her attention once again to Marco.
-------------------------
Artemis blended with the shadows as he approached the edge of the treeline, breathing softly. Marco was approaching the vessel (whose loading ramp was beginning to release pressure). Only a matter of seconds now. He looked over at Aura, who had her finger on the switch for the communication's blocker. As soon as Marco made the first move she would flip it, and the group would charge. He probed outwards with the force, wrapping his energy around Marco, heightening his senses. We've only got one shot at this... Artemis thought. Let's hope we don't fail horribly.

Marco breathed slowly and evenly as he stepped out into the clearing, focusing on keeping his heart rate low. Even so, he felt it pounding in his throat. There was a thrill that preceded a battle... an exhilarating charge of adrenaline that shoots from the core and energizes every muscle and nerve, pulses through every vein, sends sparks racing through the mind.

It's been too long, Marco thought, Oh how I've missed this.

Earlier that day it hadn't seemed real. Storming the listening post- he hadn't expected a challenge- never imagined the danger waiting for him- but this time, he knew he was walking right into a gundark's nest- and he was ready for it. He felt the reassuring weight of the blasters and knives hanging from his belt, felt a heavy backpack full of various grenades and Nikka's new armor, ready for her. He felt the weight of the helmet in his hand, ready for him to simply slip it on and dive headlong into a fight. And most of all, he felt the pressure of the oncoming storm weighing down on him. This will be the hardest fight I've ever faced, he thought.

There was a weighty thump as the shuttle's landing ramp hit the ground, and a clack of boots as a dozen fully-armored Republic troopers stepped down into the clearing, followed by a tall, slender man in a crisp uniform. The republic insignia decorated his left chest pocket, and polished silver buttons ran down the front of the square-shouldered black jacket. His face was tall and thin, with a good chunk of it making up his forehead, which was completely bald. His cheekbones were high and sharp, his eyes small and cold, and his nose hooked and eagle-like. His thin lips seemed locked in an endless frown.

"Chase August, it is an honor to finally make your acquaintance," the man said mechanically.

β€œBelieve me,” Marco replied with a humorless smile, β€œthe pleasure’s all mine.”

This has to be him- the captain. Need him alive and undamaged. Move fast. Grab his shoulder. Sling him down. Bring the knee up- right to the side of the head. Can’t hit the face- Joab will know- just take him down fast and efficiently and move on.

All of these thoughts ran through Marco’s head in a fraction of a second, and in another second the captain was on the ground and not getting up soon. The republic soldiers were moving into action then, and Marco had just enough time to draw his blasters before her was surrounded by them, their weapons drawn and aimed at him.

β€œCommander Joab,” one of the soldiers barked into his comlink, β€œit’s just as you suspected. He’s putting up a fight. …Commander? Commander, do you copy? Commander! Respond! ...What the kriff?!”

As the other soldiers murmured nervously, tightening their grips on their blasters, Marco grinned wide. Good work, Aura. Now take β€˜em!

Artemis entered the clearing in a sprint, hands outstretched like claws. He felt the heartbeat of the two soldiers nearest him and wrapped his energy around it, slowly flexing his outstretched digits. The men clutched their chests and staggered forward as their cardiac tissue contracted and began to crush inwards on itself. Grinning, he switched his attention to the Captain. Reaching downwards, Artemis hoisted the man off of the ground and began moving towards the edge of the forest, using the Force to strengthen his carrying capacity.

----------------

Aura flipped the switch as soon as Marco crippled the captain of the vessel. She immediately hoisted her rifle to her shoulder and aimed, firing a bolt into the skull of one of the soldiers approaching Marco from behind. She fired again, this time on one of the soldiers trying to enter the transport. "Make sure they don't take off!" Aura shouted at Angela and Andred as they took off towards the battle.

Heavy breathing caught her attention, and she turned to see Artemis with a limp man over his shoulder. "Good boy. Put the man down and go help the others." She said as he supported the man against a fallen tree. Aura took a moment to look over the man, then stripped off his uniform down to his undergarments. She quickly put on the gear, switching her blasters into the holsters and stuffing a vibroknife and some dataspikes into her boot. "A bit loose, but it will have to do," she muttered, brushing dust from the outfit. By now her datapad had finished scanning the man. Satisfied, she produced a syringe from her discarded gear and injected it into the man's neck. The man stirred, slowly opening his eyes. His eyes narrowed at the sight of Aura in his uniform, and he struggled to get up.

Aura kicked him harshly in the ribs, returning him to the forest floor. "Good evening, Lieutenant...." She looked at the ID badge attached to the uniform's belt. ".... Grahm Sanctus. I'm afraid you and your ship are being subject to impressment. I assure you, however, we'll do our very best to ensure you a valiant death if you cooperate."

Aura pressed a command on her datapad that began recording as soon as Sanctus scoffed, "I'd rather die than aid you.... Imperials. Terrorists. Whatever you pathetic scum consider yourselves."

Grinning, Aura ended the recording. "Actually, you just did. You see, you're going to help us regardless. Your voice is ours. Your body is ours. But don't worry, I'm sure the mandalorians will have a fun time taking care of you while we're gone. There's a pretty young girl with purple hair - she'd love to meet you."

Aura planted her toe against the man's mandible with a heavy kick, rendering him unconscious. Taking a deep breath, she entered a command into her datapad and approved the function. Her entire being flickered with light as thousands of pixels of light patterned over her skin. Within a few moments, two Grahm Sanctus's were in the forest. Aura moved her arm and watched as the unfamiliar flesh-toned appendage moved in unison with her thoughts. Speaking out loud, her voice morphed into that of the Lieutenant's: "Here goes nothing..." Slowly, she exited the forest into the clearing.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Dang it, Mal, you made Ari geek out. What have you done?

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Gentlemen, I've found Ariadne's theme-song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... P6yvrfOfLc

It's so appropriate.

... I picked the 10 hour version just for your repeated listening pleasure.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Nikka: http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l61 ... 00a66f.png

Eventually I'm gonna shade one of my drawings.

... probably.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Nope, Gaz looks like her.

When I first saw Gaz, I was like "SHE'S JUST LIKE ARIADNE!" haha.

But yeah, I drew this before I saw the show. My theory is that Ariadne, when she was younger, somehow transported herself into a children's cartoon. That's where she found the Inanity stone, which had been influencing the entire Invader Zim universe. It's the only explanation for that show being so freaking twisted.

Either that or Ariadne wrote the show, which also kinda makes sense. Naughty Ari, negatively influencing the minds of our youth since 2001.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

She looks like Gaz.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

You want one don't you?

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Yay!

Aaand new ship:

http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l61 ... 01e880.jpg

The image quality is terrible... I blame my scanner.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Bring on the novels, I like them.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

I know, I know. It's a novel.

Buuuut I had to introduce my two new characters, Jayko and The Leveler II, so, you know, it was important. Leveler II drawings coming up soon, stay tuned!

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Dang it, Mordecai! So nosy...

Link, if you want to post something else as Arix, go for it.

So, I'm about to skip 2 months worth of IC time on my next post, so if you want to post anything right now , updates on your characters, mischievous mini-adventures, (or not) whatever, go for it (just don't get carried away.)

If not, I'll try to have another post up this weekend, and maybe Marco can find time to visit Malign soon.

Oh, and actually read the long novelish posts I'm gonna be making, they're important!

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

*SPOILER* - read my post first

If that last post was a bit disturbing, I apologize. But I couldn't not make the "eat your hearts out" joke.

I know it's terrible. Don't judge.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Hahahahaha..... he's just an old artyfact.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrpngwZE ... q8JEEwE1ee

Some music for us.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

I hate to tell you this, Mr. Mantis, but you're just a link in the chain. Of the two of us, I'm the one who's august.

BOOM! See what I did there?

(Sorry Arty, I've got nothing for your name.)

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Before you post, Link, remember that Marco Chain technically doesn't exist, so there's no way to track who he is. If Arix tries to find background information on Marco, all he'll find is that he is a mercenary who's been fighting off Joab's men for quite some time.

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

-Disregard this post.-

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Here's that list of supplies, for future reference if you need it. Not that you actually ever will, but I typed the whole thing up, dang it! I wasn't NOT going to post it!

Item description: Amount:
Flashbang grenade (10m) - 10
Sticky Grenade (5m) - 10
Remote Detpack (2m) - 20
Land Mine (5m) - 10
Thermal Detonator (5m) - 20
A 718 Ammunition pack - 100
GK 40 Classic Ammunition Pack -100
Darkstar 4000e Sheild Generator - 1
A 718 Blaster stabilizer Chip - 1
Cortosis Triweave Armor Implant - 2 large - medium weight, 4 small - medium weight, 2 medium - medium weight.

Also, here's hoping Malign won't ask what Marco's doing with all that dangerous stuff. He could hurt himself. Or a lot of people. Seriously, she's giving him scissors and telling him to go run and play.

It's not exactly like she's not going to ask, but I'm still hoping. Because if he tells her what he's doing, he'll have to tell her about Joab, and we ALL know how that story ends. "Once upon a time, Malign June met Joab August, they fell in love and had a child who grew up and killed us all. The end!"

Re: Star Wars: Legacy

Arty, before you submit your post, be sure to change your location from "Star Wars Universe" to "The Solar". It's right above the reply box, can't miss it. This is where the "places" option comes in handy. If things get confusing with two different scenes happening at once, just click either "The Solar" (above my Marco posts) to see only Marco and Malign's coversation, or "Star Wars Universe" (above my Joab posts) to see only Joab and Arix's. It porbably won't get confusing, but the option is there just in case.
