Revan is a very solitary, strong willed, and hardened Jedi. Revan tends to keep his conversations to a minimum, choosing the way of observation as opposed to inquisitive speech. Outside of his mother, and a handful of Jedi and mercenaries, his conversations are few and far in between.

Revan is a unique individual amongst the Jedi. His thoughts differing much from his fellow Sentinels, as seen by his actions. Always quick to question others motives and instructions. In the end he remains faithful and stead fast at the face of adversity

History:
Revan history is clouded and hidden in shadow within the archives of the Jedi Libraries. Revan was born aboard the SSV Dawnbringer on its journey to Tython, to a Jedi Sentinel, Rebecca Ryan, under the birth name Daniel Ryan. At first his birth was looked down upon with great distress as such an action in the Jedi Order was unheard of. However with their numbers so small, the birth of a force born was not to be pushed aside. To protect her son, Rebecca renamed Daniel, Marcus Revan.

At a young age Revan powers manifested quickly. He had always been quick and agile, moving amongst the city streets with ease. Find his way into and out of trouble, remaining unseen and unheard by many. As his powers grew, so did his ability for such skills. So did his power grow as to attract the eye of many influential Jedi within the Order itself. It had come time for the young boy to join the Jedi ranks, and set forth to become a Counselor in the Jedi Order. His mother however would no stand for her son becoming one of the diplomats of the order. After weeks of debate she was granted mastery over her son.

As years passed, Revans focus shifted from his powers to his mastery of the light saber. Tho he retained great power in force, his skill with a lightsaber was inspiring. His skill grew to the point of drawing the attention of master Guardians seeking to swell their ranks, yet as before his mother had sheilded him from such single sighted goals. As years passed further, and with the help of his mother he had learned to mend both his combat skills with his force powers becoming the pinnicle of Sentinal teaching. Shortly after reaching this peak, he was granted the title of Jedi Knight.

Tho still refusing to take on apprentice, Revan is well known through out the Jed Vanguard. Many mercenaries have come to respect him as "Commander" for his combat prowness and tacticle mastery. With great influence amongst fellow Jedi, he is seen as a protector of the galaxy. Unknown to his brothers and sister, he spends countless hours of the nights training and focusing his mastery of the Dark side. For to this Jedi knowledge is power, and power is the only way to shape the galaxy.

Revan looked out of the window of the Jedi Spire, he had been summoned by his mother. She however was currently in a meeting with the Jedi Council and so he was forced to wait in the halls. He did not mind this much, it gave him time to reflect. His eyes glowed silver as he focused his gaze towards the grounds. There a single woman had broken off from her platoon and began a run. He watched her move, her body was fluid and graceful. What am I thinking. The better question was what wasnt he thinking. He had seen the woman before, and each time thought she was more beautiful than the day before. As she gazed up at the spire, he closed his eyes averting his gaze as if she looked straight at him.

"See something you like" a male voice said jesting him in a mocking tone

Revan recognized the voice immediatly "Captain Valik Jitauri" he straightened his back "I did not expect to find you in our halls. Should you not be back on the grounds with the rest of the rabble?"

"Aye maybe. But I had to make sure that you twinkle toeing bastards were doing your parts" the male voice responded

Revan turned to see a man in gray Phase I armor, a pair of dual blasters hung at his hips. To many the man could be mistaken for a Mandelorian. He leaned against a piller with his arms crossed over his chest "I would watch your tongue within these halls"

The man pushed off the pillar and walked towards Revan "You think you intimidate me your fearful whelp? Your powers do not scare me" he stared down the Jedi. They held their gaze, bodies tensing from the argument each ready to strike. Then a smile began to cross the mercenaries face, soon finding himself laughing out loud. The two beings smiled and embraced one another in a long over due hug....

"Revan my friend it has been to long" the mercenary said

"Yes dear Valik, it has indeed" Revan replied "Come let us talk, I believe my apprentice will be arriving shortly"

So begins...

A long time ago in a galaxy far,
far away...

Image

The galaxy is at war. The Republic's grip on the galaxy is dwindling. The Confederacy has pushed the Republic back north of the Deep Core. The Empire has conquered the galaxy's eastern systems. Coruscant has driven out all factions and claimed independence. All three sides now butting heads over territory.

The Jedi and the Sith have fallen into myths and legends, the force a dead religion. A single temple in the secluded Deep Core plant Tython is all that remains of the Jedi.

The day of harsh training has come once again, led by Jedi Master Kilbaine. This training may prepare the young Jedi for the roles they are destined to take to bring peace to the galaxy once more...

The morning brought a wind with a soft whistle through the trees and over the plains, in which the grass danced and the branches swayed. The sunrise extended beams of light that passed through the gaps of the leaves and branches. The sky was that of a light blue, with bits of white here and there. The avian life chirped while the mammals grunted and bellowed. The amphibians peeped and the insects chattered and buzzed along the following creaks. All coming together in the harmony of nature. This harmony would soon be broken by the loud and alien chirping coming from the Jedi Temple common rooms. Specifically, coming from the room of Karkun Kilbaine and his apprentice Atsa.

It was as if Master Kilbaine has been expecting this, for just after the Knights and Padawan finished yelling at the young lizard, Master Kilbaine was yelling throughout the halls.

"Everyone up! I want you all at the Temple Entrance! It's that time again!"

This was not only for the Knights and the Padawan. No, this was for Master and Vanguard alike. Only certain members of the council are exempt from this, which includes Kotsa, Votar, Jerosi, and Fe. No one knows why the others are required to attend, including the council members themselves. Master Zathris in particular has pondered this on many occasions. Votar, however, actually helps Master Kilbaine run the training regimen, and has a knack for making exercises look easy for an old master.

Koda, an honorary guest in the home of the Jedi, was offered a chance to join the workout. He was told it was his choice, and that they'd love to have him.

Master Kilbaine leads all of the Jedi to the forest, where the trees tower over head. Everyone seems to look up, admiring the height of the great trees. While the admiration is being performed, a few drops start to land on the heads of the up lookers. The drizzle turns to standard rain, and then a torrential downpour. This causes the ground to quickly become deep mud, and the amount of water coming down was in a very high quantity even with the trees sheltering from above.

"Perfect conditions for our workout!" Master Kilbaine exclaimed for all to hear.

For hours the exercises would continue, having both Jedi and Vanguards trudge through the mud, climbing the trees, and performing Olympic level conditioning and strength training. Team work skills are performed, taking a team to events such as chopping down a dead tree or performing running relays through the mud. This would last for 6 hours, with Master Kilbaine barely breaking a sweat.

After a final tug of war competition(in which a giant log was used), the outdoors workout was finished, and everyone was to clean themselves up and then head to the training rooms of the temple.

At the lobby of the training facility, Jedi are paired with jedi and Vanguards with Vanguards. Non-lethal weaponry is handed out to all, training grade sabers to Jedi and low power blasters(which would cause only a very minor burn on contact) and dulled blades to the Vanguards.

The rules are simple: No biting, clawing, spitting, breaking of limbs, over aggressive acts, or any form of lethal damage. Each time an opponent hits the other with what would be a lethal or disabling strike(Lightsaber hit, Sword hit, Blaster fire), the attacker gains a point. Once three points are reached, the one who acquired the three are proclaimed the winner, and the sparring ends.

The first batch of matches are announced, four matches for the four sparring rooms. The announcements echo throughout the hallways, and overcome the noise of the lobby's occupants. The first sets of matches go by, with Knights against Knights, Padawan against Padawan, and Vanguard against Vanguard. After around 10 sets of matches, the announcements come on once again.

"Kelios Shar-da and Maruc Revan at room 1. Katori Atsa and Adeline Sha at room 2.Jehaa Starcross and Valik Jitauri at room 3. Jackle Staki and Tuuk Braz at room 4.

Master Kilbaine brings Koda to the observation deck of room 2. Upon sitting down, he turns his head to Koda.

"Sir Koda'rai, if you wish to participate in a friendly sparring match, I'm sure we could find you a worthy opponent". He turns his head to the middle of the sparring room. "Don't worry though, you have time to think about it. For now, I must be sure our Temple can defend itself if ever necessary".

The combatants are given their weapons, and the doors to the rooms open. Combatants are instructed to face each other at the far ends of the room.. Once the pairs are in the room, the doors shut tight, and observation may only be made from the observation decks, which hangs down from the ceiling of each of the sparring rooms.

Image

When the two combatants are ready, a bell is rung, and the fight begins.

The chirping. The loud and seemingly unending chirping was what Karkun awoke to. This wasn't out of the ordinary, but it never seemed to become any less annoying. Karkun just shoves his head into his pillow and does his best to ignore it until it stops. After that, he'd be able to go back to sleep, right? His thoughts were interrupted by the yell of his father, instructing everyone to go to the Temple entrance. With a snarled expression and crust still in his eyes, he grabs Atsa and heads to the entrance.

After six hours in the hell that his father called "training", everyone was to go clean up and head to the training facility. As such, Karkun heads to his room and cleans off in the refresher room. Upon finishing his grooming, he heads down to the training facility, as instructed.

"Kelios Shar-da and Maruc Revan at room 1. Katori Atsa and Adeline Sha at room 2.Jehaa Starcross and Valik Jitauri at room 3. Jackle Staki and Tuuk Braz at room 4.

Karkun, with cuts and bruises on his face and hands from the earlier training regimen, turns his head to his shoulder, where his apprentice had claimed as his personal throne .

"Alright Atsa, remember what I taught you. Don't let her out maneuver you, that's your biggest advantage here. I'll be watching from the observation deck".

He then guides Atsa off his shoulder and gently pushes him towards the room before turning to head towards the observation room. Just before he heads up the stairs, he turns back to his apprentice.

"Remember Atsa, no one will get hurt. It's to make sure we can keep ourselves from getting hurt in a real situation".

And with that, the Knight heads up the stairs to observe his apprentice.

Preparation Room

Revan stood overlooking a table in the preparation room. Upon it lay his robes, his two lightsabers, a set of dueling blasters, and a multitude of repair equipment. The most impressive item that lay on the table though, was a set of Phase I Stalker armor that his body shielded from view. Revan picked up the helmet and gazed into the visor....

"They will never let you wear that Commander" Valik said stepping in

"I know" Revan said rotating it in his hands

Valik nodded knowing the Commander wanted to be left alone "When I was born, my mother told me stories of the Jedi, how they were our enemy. I am glad she was wrong Commander. Good luck" with that the Mandelorian stepped out of the room and headed to his battle

"One day" he smiled and set it down. The Jedi were not locked in open conflict, and so the Council had forbidden any Jedi to dawn armor outside of their robes and garments. This frustrated Revan to no end, as a Jedi they should be prepared for any encounter, not simply idle by until conflict arrived. What would happen if the Sith attacked tomorrow? Three quarters of these Jedi had never fought in armor, they would be slow and clumsy....easy prey for a hardened enemy.

"I pray that day never comes" Revan reached back and pulled his hood over his head, his right hand slipping to his neck where he pulled his face cover up to the bridge of his nose. He reached down to the table and took his two blades, attaching them to his utility belt. He stopped at the presence that had entered the room, with a tilt of his head "Adeline. Are you ready?" he turned to face his apprentice "I have my own battle today, so I will not be there to oversee your work"

<But I will be here>

Revan tapped her head "Your opponent is young, but do not let that deceive you. He is agile and fast, but you can sense his movements this is your edge" he grabbed her shoulders "Let your opponents think they have already beaten you, let them show their hand. Then strike" he smiled at her, she had never let him down.

Adeline nodded. She would most certainly not underestimate Atsa because of his youth, after all, she was the same age as her opponent. While she did not look up at Revan, that would be rather pointless considering that she could see him just as well without doing so, Adeline offered a smile at his confidence in her. "Yes master. I shall do my very best." Like most of what she said, this was spoken in a monotone, but still seemed to convey some warmth.

Stepping into room two, Adeline frowned at the training saber resting firmly in her right hand. It mimicked an average lightsaber, rather than the dueling one she'd constructed. While this would not hinder her combat ability to any noticeable degree, it would still prevent her from using some of the advantageous moves that the curved hilt made possible. While she waited for her opponent, the Miraluka analyzed the room. The size of it would likely give Atsa an advantage, but perhaps offering the acrobatic Jedi some space to leap about and tire himself out in wasn't such a bad idea.

When the small being did finally enter the room, Adeline greeted him by igniting the saber and preforming a Makashi salute, which consisted of bringing the blade up vertically in front of her face, followed by drawing a quick "X" in the air with the tip of the blade. "On your go." she offered. This was meant as a gesture of courtesy, though it occurred to her a moment later that it could have been misinterpreted as overconfidence.

Room 1

It will prepare you for real situations Daniel his mothers words echoed in his mind. Real situations? What situation does two individuals knowingly walk into a room to face one another with toys? Revan hated these duels, they were little more than the Councils way of making sure that the Jedi did not become complacent. In truth it did nothing more than force Revan to yearn for combat, a chance to truly prove his worth.

"Lets be done with this" Revan muttered as the doors opened. Yet as they did a sense of concern and doubt fell over him. What is this? he thought to himself. He had never entered a fight thinking he may lose, nor had he ever doubted himself or felt concern for his own well being. As he looked across the room to his opponent he could see the beast in meditation and then it hit Revan, he was using the force to cloud Revans mind with doubt.

"Very well" he said rolling his shoulders back, taking the training sabers in his hands and spinning them. He gained a feel for their weight and their speed. Satisfied he relaxed his stance, the tips of the blades almost touching the ground. He could still feel the doubt creeping into his mind. Focus Marcus, Focus on the task at hand he thought to himself pushing the doubt into a barrier. It would take some of his concentration to hold it there, but it was better than trying to fight with it gnawing at his mind.

Revan nodded to his opponent, giving the floor back to him. Revan cared not who won or lost this "fight".

During the morning...

Kelios was spending the morning in the Temple's garden, eyes closed and in mediation. Sliding through the age-old memories of his past and attempting to find ways to rectify or solve what happened. Everything was at peace until a loud, continuous string of chirps and warbles echoed from the sleeping quarter's. He couldn't help but twitch in irritation, since that thing arrived there wasn't a day that the insistent warbling did not fill the air. It broke ones focus, what was worse is that know one in the Temple could even figure out species what it belonged. However, it was an Apprentice of the Temple and he treated the young creature as such, kind when the two did interact but he avoided interaction with Atsa at all times he could. And he begged the Force to make the chirping end soon and it did however serenity was shattered once more as Council announced a training ceremony for the day. He gave a slight snarl of irritation as he climbed to his feet and moved toward the Assembly grounds.

Kelios listened to the announcements silently, he couldn't help but grin at his opponent. Another resident Sentinel of the Order. This sparring session was likely going to be very beneficial to him in terms of new combat styles and the test of older ones. He headed straight toward the arena he was assigned; arriving he noticed his opponent hadn't done the same. So he sat down in the middle of the ring and began to channel into mediation. The technique was ancient, used to turn tides and win wars. In this patient peace he waited, his double-bladed training saber rested on his lap as he did so.

In the ring...

A small grin crossed his muzzle as he heard the door on the other side of the room as the door opened and his opponent entered the room. "Very well..." He heard his opponent utter and he opened his eyes now that he felt the Battle Meditation take effect. "You seem unenthusiastic, I will do my best to make this challenging to you then." He said lowly, his voice was deep like a bass though. He soon stood up, the feline was a tower. Standing a little over 9 feet tall, topping even wookies. His training saber came on with flash, both blades ejecting from the hilt simultaneously. He spun, the yellow saber's about once before holding it in a defensible position to compliment his style.

Oddly enough though, the feline began backing away from the human, toward one of the statues on the other end of the ring. His deep, golden eyes. The slitted puples narrowed on the human's arms surprisingly, scanning for any motion whatsoever. Trying to sense any motions or provocation at either. He was utterly refusing to attack first instead of watching, waiting. His entire fighting style based off defense.

"Are you ready, my friend?"

Training Ring

"Are you ready, my friend?" Revan listened to the sound of his opponents voice, he closed his eyes listening to the sound of his breathing and the placement of his footsteps. Revan opened his eyes to see his opponent, he stood like a mountain over Revan, but that did little to affect him. He tilted his head as he watched his opponent evaluate him Good he thought taking a step forward. He watched as the beasts eyes followed Revans every movement A defensive fighter, a challenging opponent, but not unbeatable he smiled under his mask

Revan simply nodded, he placed one foot slowly in front of the other mirroring his opponent. He flips his blades to rest up towards him, under his arms. He just walked, slowly, carefully and calculating every possible move. He had to be careful, as many of his powers revolved around what the Order considered Dark. His fights in the presence of the Jedi would rest strongly upon his skills with the blades.

Revan stopped then, shifting to face exactly towards his opponent. He starred him down then, and walked toward him. He did not run, his arms did not move to defend himself or to ready for an attack. He just walked towards Kelios unflinchingly. In truth every muscle, every ligament, and every nerve readied itself for the signal to act.

Koda'rai followed Master Kilbaine closely throughout the Temple, glad to finally gain entrance. The early suspicion was something he couldn't blame, his people could be described as reclusive under the best of circumstances. The outside exercise vaguely reminded him of his early training with his own people, the general style was different...but the feel of it was nostalgic. His first real surprise at the temple was the invitation to combat training, among his people it was simple drills instead of 'live' combat. As one who particularly disliked violence, it seemed rather... absurd to practice violence, albeit calmly, though simple technique was enough. He briefly postulated if the need for training like this was due to other species lack of connection to the Divine Ones, but decided the question wasn't important.

"Amongst this ones people, simple technique drills are sufficient to teach younglings and hone skill to new heights. Live combat is saved for Pilgrimage or in response to a threat otherwise unavoidable. With utmost politeness, this Koda'rai will decline the invitation to spar." The unfeeling voice of the Aing-ti's translator voiced its thoughts in Galactic Basic, the tone was not loud but naturally carried over large distances. With the large eyes of its kind, Koda'rai easily watched and tracked several matches with ease. "In terms of skill assessment,Koda'rai confesses to be about as skilled in technique as a Jedi Padawan...the most accurate comparison being two ranks beneath Master in Jedi Sixth Style." During the period of its waiting, Koda'rai had done its best to find out Jedi history, lore and terminology for sake of communication.

"Accounting for use of the Force that would be sacrilegiously wasteful amongst its kind, this one would not be able to challenge even the least here in a 'spar'." Koda'rai continued to elaborate, "Though in use of the Divine Ones' gift- the Force, as Jedi Kilbaine calls it,Jedi seem...lacking in comparison of ability depth. But the breadth of Jedi application and variation is extensively larger...ironic as Jedi merely see two colors of the Gift." As it finished talking, the Aing-ti clasped both of its three-clawed hands behind its back. It attention narrowed down to a specific pair of matches as a whole, one with a feline creature versus a human. The other one containing a rather enthusiastic female bearing a lightsaber with a curved hilt.

In sparring room 3, Jehaa and Valik have gone 'round several times, using the pillars for cover in a mostly blaster-based skirmish. The reduced-output bolts don't leave so much as a singe on the mostly-decorative things, but the sting they leave when they smack into either combatant isn't as easily dismissed.

Breaking from cover to attempt a flank, Jehaa is caught dead in the side, and another point lights for Valik. Resetting their positions in the center of the ring, a surprising charge from Jehaa makes Valik stumble back, and her shots are quick to slam into his chest not far from the bruise of her thrown knife.

Tied, with one point to go, Jehaa makes a rookie mistake, and repeats the earlier successful maneuver. Valik isn't as quick to fall for it, and stands his ground. They close, and the larger male smashes her blaster aside before she can make a clean shot. The Corporal manages to free her dulled blade, and the two clash, but Valik doesn't allow enough space for her to swing it effectively, and in the end physics is what decides it.

With the bulk and the strength advantage, it becomes a grapple, and Jehaa finds herself pinned to the ground, arm twisted awkwardly behind her own back, shoulder screaming. After holding firm until the joint pops ominously, she makes a show of swearing violently, and slaps the floor of the training room twice, tapping out.

The senior Vanguard laughingly releases the younger soldier, and offers a hand up as the lights flash, declaring him the winner.

"Sithspit, that hurt!" Jehaa protests, rolling the offended arm in its socket.

"Such language!" he chides, returning the training blasters and the dulled blade to their place outside of the training room.

"Sithspit, sir." But she does regain military bearing as she realizes that several other Jedi - including that weird 'guest' she'd heard about - were lingering outside to observe the fights.

"Better." Valik shrugs, "You let your guard down. And you're brash. But damn if you don't have guts, Corporal. Keep it up." And with that, the old soldier wanders off to do his own thing.

Jehaa grimaces at the chastisement, rubbing her arm again and turning to stand quietly off to the side. Koda'rai gets her full attention for a moment, if only because he was so -alien- even by Tython standards. She'd never seen anything like him, and he was a guest of the Jedi and a Force-user to boot.

Speaking of Force users, not even Koda's appearance can keep her attention for long when there are a pair of full Knights squaring off below. One she knew by reputation and appearance. Not many aliens out there taller than a wookie and twice as hairy. At least with the mane. Jehaa could call herself lucky she hadn't been paired with HIM. And then there was his opponent.

Ok, so he had the rugged dark hair thing going for him. Jehaa cant help but make a mental dirty joke about how he handles his saber. Oh, stars, what if the Masters could read minds?! Not that they'd need to. The filthy humor and quick horror are all but broadcasted in her facial expressions before she wipes her face clean and just watches the fight.

Kelios continued his back pacing, his claws making taps on the metal as he moved. If one where to look, he wore no gloves other than the scrap-metal bracers and wore no boots, just thick grey wrappings around his feet that let his claws remain exposed. He had no intention to strike with these and they were indeed retractable. He began to snarl softly at the human, not out of anger or annoyance but just out of animistic instinct. The noise loud enough to be heard throughout the area and possibly into the others.

Why wasn't he attacking? He practiced a form that from Kelios' view was mainly offensive. It mattered not, the Horansi was utterly refusing to swing to first. At the moment atleast. He began thinking rather quickly and then looked up at the statute behind him. Use the environment, take the high-ground, and then rely upon the Force to guide you. His master's old words echoed throughout his mind and that's exactly what he needed to do. He swung back around to face the human and then stepped forward as if he were going to strike, a loud booming roar soon sounding from his lungs. The noise was incredibly loud, probably heard in the next few wings of the Temple. It was highly reminiscent to the roar of our species on Earth, Lions. The noise seemed to shake the room for a second, thunderous and challenging, at the same time he swung his blade down sideways in a feint attack. But using the momentum, the large male pulled back and out of the human's reach before lunging with force leap at the statute behind, nearly reaching its shoulder. Using his claw to yank himself the rest of the way up, he stood on the outstretched stone arm of the statue. A grin across his muzzle.

"What will you do know, human? I hold the High-Ground and you will be hard pressed to take it from The Eye of The Storm." He said and then adopted the traditional Soresu stance, watching and waiting for the human's next move and actively concetrating, trying to predict his foes moves.

Room 1

Revan looked up at the beast now perched upon the statue. He tilted his head to the side, watching as the animal mocked him. It was clear that it would not strike at him first, which would inevitably lead to a very long, and dull day. As Revan never landed the first blow in open combat with his blades, he found the current situation an issue. He was one of the few Sentinels that were trained to attack from the concealment, protecting the galaxy from the shadows while the Guardians and Consulars reaped the glory within the light. Some would call him an assassin, others a hitman, but the truth is he was a Sentinel. Then an idea came to him, one that allowed him to continue his defensive fighting style....

Who said that I had to land the first strike with my blades

Revan spun his training blades around, as if preparing for an attack. Then they powered down, attacking back to his utility belt. He continued to watch the beast as it gazed upon him. Revans hands reached out to either side as if holding something in each, after a brief moment the air became cool as if life was simply leaving the air itself. His mind was split, protecting itself from the Guardians Battle Meditation, another focusing the force to due his will, and the other bracing his muscles to act in the event of a counter attack....

Behind him, two fairly decent sized pieces of rubble shook free from the grounds floor. It was taking more of his focus than he had thought to pull the pieces of fallen rubble off the grounds floor itself. As the last of the dirt fell from them, they launched forward towards Kelios......

Observation floor

The doors slid open as another Jedi entered the Observation platforms. Her form fitting gray robes clung to every move her body made. Her movement was fluid and flawless, and often caught the attention of others. As Valik left the floor he noticed the Master Sentinel, he quickly stepped to the side and gave a small bow with his head out of respect. After she passed he stepped out of the room.

The Jedi made her way around the crowd of Masters gathered watching the combatants. Some trying to gain the attention of their new guest, others betting upon the students. It was not something she was interested in doing, she came to critique her students, nothing more, and nothing less. Instead of walking towards the room with the two Knights, which had seemed to catch little attention outside of a few students and a Vanguard. She had had seen her before, Stark....Starlet....Scarlet....Starcross! That was it., she was a charming Corporal. She walked towards the room with two Padawans dueling, one small and energetic, the other calm and collected. She smiled as she watcher her sons student fight with the defiance of a guardian, the speed of a counselor, and the will of a Sentinel.....

"Impressive Adeline" she smiled

Jehaa watched the duel taking place between Marcus and Kelios intently, expecting one of the Force-fueled, saber-crashing, 'Luke-I-am-your-father' spectacles that the holovids made Jedi combat out to be. It doesn't exactly play out like that. At least not yet. When rocks spontaneously lift from where they'd been swept aside from previous duels and rocket through the air... THAT gets her attention like someone waving a red flag around a mad Reek. The Vanguard smiles like a kid in a candy store, completely failing to acknowledge the Master that wanders in and floats passed her to observe the padawan fight.

At least until the noise of poor Atsa begging eternal forgiveness and the reply of a brutal counter-attack from the Miralukan. Harsh. She casts a glance to the assembled Masters to see if any if them have the same reaction. Then again, wasn't all fair in love and war? Combat training -was- why they were all doing these exercises.

Speakinv of exercises, with her bout finished and plenty if sparring still going on around her, Jehaa fought the urge to fidget. A run after this was definitely in order. But not before she sw the outcome of the Marcus/Kelios fight. It was only just starting to get good...

Kelios watched as the large chunks of stone flew at him. Another deafening roar coming lose from his lungs as the objects approach. He predicted this a second earlier thanks to his innate ability of precognition and use of force speed to increase his reaction timing and prepared to face the large objects, the first he threw his own blast of telekinesis at, deflecting it sideways [Journey skill vs. Apprentice].

As the second boulder came at him he didn't have the time to prepare some snazzy deflection, instead he snarled in defiance and called upon the force. As the rubble came at him, he swung sideways with his blade in a typical Soresu deflection. However his natural strength and increased force strength caused him to shattered the boulder; in which he deflected the fragments with telekinesis once more and sent a small amount back at Revan, causing a small hailstorm of stone to fly at him as the Horansi laughed loudly at the effort. He wasn't making fun the human but this fight was playing towards all of his natural strengths.

"You think your the only Sentinel in this temple of your caliber. You are far from correct." He bellowed and dropped back into his stance, holding the lightsaber like a spear ready for whatever was to come next. His muscles relaxed and waiting for the next move, it was evident he planned on fighting defensively. Though that string of blocks took a lot of concentration in the force. He was still going strong, but it was unlikely he could pull something off like that again on a second's notice.

Room 1

Revan turned his head and brought his arm up to sheild his face as the rubble blasted back to him. As they pelted him, a light lit up on the beasts side signalling his opponents hit. He had used Revans own brash tactics against him, impressive for a force user. He could see that his will was strong, an his determination stronger. He reached out using his force sense, gathering a feel for the Jedi before him. He was a capable force user, and an adept swordsman by his stance.Good then this fight will go quickly. I have more important matters to attend to

"You think your the only Sentinel in this temple of your caliber. You are far from correct" he heared the beast say. But in truth it was the beast who would not be surprise.

<Watch yourself my son> his mothers voice said in his head. So she is here

What happened next would tax his mind, but he had been trained for this, it was what he was good at. No sooner had the battle looked to be in the beasts favor, than Revan faded from sight and the force. (Revan:Force Stealth, Force Cloak Journeyman vs Kelios: Force Sense Journeyman). In the shadows of the training room Revan became a ghost, not a sight or sound, simply the hairs on the back of ones neck standing up. In the light however, the beasts skill in the force would let him sense Revans presence and perhapse catch a distortion in the air.

"Let us begin" Revans voice echoed from different areas of the room.

"Koda'rai also expresses curiosity about these 'sparring' sessions. Amongst this one's people, Combat training is just learning forms and meditating so the Divine Ones may guide our actions should conflict occur during Pilgrimage."

Karkun smirks at the outsider's curiosity. With a deep breath of fresh air, he stretches his back, which lets out a few popping noises. Upon the satisfaction of the comfort, he begins to speak to Koda'rai.

"The more you practice something, the better you will become at it. The closer to the real situation, the better the quality of your practice will be. This allows us to stay in control and not panic if the unfortunate actually were to happen." His head leans forward a bit more, getting a better view of his apprentice's duel. Atsa had just hit Adeline, and was on his knees, begging for forgiveness.

"Oh by the force, stand up and hit her again." Once more he turned his head to speak with Koda'rai.

"The weapons we use are harmless, really the most they can do is leave a slight...", just as the ladt word leaves Karkun's lips, Adeline begins beating the unarmed Atsa with her lightsaber. Over...and over...and over again. The energy of the weapon may not do any harm, but the raw force that she used to hit Atsa was another thing. For a few moments all Karkun could do was watch in a stunned state before finishing his sentence.

"...burn." At that moment Karkun stood up, not very happy with what he was watching.

"What the hell is this? This is not how she should be trained to fight. Who would teach her...Marcus." His face was in a scowl. He intended to have a few words with the knight later on. The announcement for the next match sounded.

"Kakun Kilbaine and Hori Doba at room 3."

The snarl on Karkun's face quickly changed to a smile. Hori was the bully of the temple. He was a human, a few years older than Karkun, and was a skilled knight, taking the guardian title. He was a user of form IV, Ataru. Karkun and Hori have had a long time rivalry, and their matches were always high stake battles.

Upon receiving his weapon and asking for Koda'rai to excuse him for a moment, Karkun walked down the room 3. Hori was already there, with a look on his face that radiated pure determination. Karkun walks right up to him, standing directly in front of him. They stood eye to eye, staring each other down in the anticipation of the bell.

Denak was watching the fight between Kelios and Revan, sighing at the lack of combat. Master Kilbaine could easily respect defensive fighting, as he had mastered the defensive form. But this was...this was more like a lack of combat. When Marcus faded his physical image from the room, Denak's eyebrow raised. If no good attempts to score were made soon, he had a plan to make things interesting...

Room 1

Revan knew that if the continued fighting styles kept their pace, the Masters would step into interfere, to make the training more "realistic". So Revan decided to do the one thing he knew would end this pitiful excuse for a match.

Small pieces of rubble, perhaps the size of ones head were lifted off the surface of the earth and flung towards Kelios. From multiple angles across the room, this would keep Kelios distracted and focused on defending himself so as not to give Revan a strike. Meanwhile Revan began to scale one of the statues across from Kelios, stopping occasionally to throw a heavier size piece of rubble. Once at the top, and seeing Kelios diligiantly scanning for Revan, as well as maintaining his form in defending himself, he began to make his way from status to statue....

He is a worth opponent, determined, focused, and skilled. A Jedi I would gladly share the battlefield with any day

As the stones continued to fly at the beast, Revan drew closer and closer to his target. Finally at the last statue, Revan focused his mind again distorting his outline enough for Kelios to see, but by then two fairly decent sized pieces of ruin, same as before, hurtled towards Kelios. This gave Revan the time to jump to Kelios position, as Kelios once again dealt with the rubble, and it fell harmlessly to the training ground floors.

As Revan landed, both of his training blades found their ways to his hands, slipping past Kelios guard and pinning him, like a mantis pins its prey to its body, or so it would seem to any. In truth Revans body did not touch Kelios, and his training blades did not make contact with the beast or his weapon. "Strike me down, and end this" Revan whispered to Kelios "Let us be done with this"

Hanger Bay D24 code name "Mandelorian Hold"

Valik had managed to make it to his hanger bay at a time of intense movement of his men. They ran about prepping the three ships that belonged under his command "Judgment, Tempest, and the Aquilar", the men and women who had followed Varik to help protect the Jedi rushed about checking systems, loading supplies and armaments to the ships, as well as retrofitting anything they saw fit. One of the Mandalorians saw Valik walk in, he quickly popped to attention "Officer on Deck! the rest of the crews stopped instantly and stood at attention. Valik had implemented a strong military rank structure amongst his command, in order to maintain balance and order "At ease" Valik said, and the crews returned to work.

"Sir" one of the Mandelorian females said walking up behind him. Valik turned "Ah Lieutenant Syrian, what do you have for me?" Syrian was Valiks second in command aboard the Tempest "Incomming transmission sir, joint reports from Baroonda, Kamino, and Nar Shadda"

Valik nodded and the two headed aboard the Tempest. Once inside Valik made his way to the communications room, near the center of the ship. After a few "sirs" from his crew, he entered the comm room "Open the transmissions into an encrypted network" he ordered

"Yes sir" Syrian said working her hands across the controls. Before Valik, three holograms appeared. Two were Mandelorians, a male and a female, the what appeared to be a human thug.

"Encrypted feeds?" He asked them

"Yes" The responded

"Very well" Valik crossed his arms "Status updates" he ordered

The male Mandalorian spoke first "Our main base on Baroonda is excelling in progress sir. The Commander will be impressed. The podracer owners have been "persuaded" to shut down their tracks for "renovations". I have ordered the renovations for our outposts to begin there"

"He may be Urdnot" Valik said "Any issues?"

"A few angry pod racers, but once jobs opened up for construction no one complained. I have agents working the cities to watch for Imperial and Republic spies. If anyone poses a threat, they will be dealt with"

"Good" Valik turned to the female thug "Daisis"

"Valik, as rugged and charming as ever" she smiled cocking her hands on her hips "The transfers are going accordingly. By the time half of these crime lords knows whats happened, their bank accounts will be empty, and their "guards" will have turned on them for lack of payment. I have agents heading to Tatooine and Corusant, they will prepare for my arrival. We will have our funding"

"Liara?" Valik said turning to the female Mandelorian

She removed her helmet, and shook lose her hair. With a coy smile "We found it...."

".....I said I was sorry, Ady."

Atsa had then dropped the training saber from his hand, and walked out of the room. By the time she recovered from her initial surprise, he was already gone. This had been quite a blunder on her part. She knew Atsa well enough to know that he wouldn't react well to her sudden change in demeanor. Like as not, he was even blaming himself for it. In retrospect, it would have been better if she had at least accepted his apology first, but she had been too focused on winning the duel like she had been expected to, and stunned from her momentary feeling of betrayal by the Force, to even do that much. Well, hopefully she have the opportunity later to make this right.

With a heavy sigh, Adeline picked up the discarded saber and returned both the training weapons to their places. After that, she entered the observation room, expecting a lecture from at least one of the beings within, but for the moment there was none. It was possible though, that they just hadn't noticed that she was there yet. Walking over to the side that overlooked Revan and his opponent, whose name she'd not yet learned, she noticed what appeared to be the end of the fight. Technically, she couldn't see it any better through the transparisteel window than she could through the wall, so she was unsure as to exactly why she'd stepped forward at all.

Observing through the Force rather than eyes, she was at first unaware that her master was cloaking himself, realizing it only after several glances around the room made by his opponent. Adeline observed as he dashed forward, aimed his blades and then... stopped. He was throwing the match. A sinking feeling overtook the Padawan. If he would deliberately lose his own match, than perhaps they weren't as important to him as she originally believed. If that was the case, then her own duel could have been take much less seriously, and thus avoided upsetting Atsa. Then again, there was the possibility that he only cared about the outcome of her duels. She would need to speak with him about this later.

Wandering away from the window a bit, Adeline began to take notice of the other beings present. Aside from the usual Masters, and the noticeable absence of the younger Kilbaine, there was a seemingly non-Force sensitive woman, likely a vanguard. The Miraluka nodded to her. Most vanguards didn't come up here, especially the younger ones, possibly due to the intimidating aura of the Masters. Aside from her, there was the guest, who she chose not to disturb, and... was that the Master Sentinel?

Immediately, Adeline gave a low bow of respect. "My apologies ma'am, I didn't notice you standing there." Technically the bow was no more required for Rebecca Ryan than any of the other Masters, the main difference being that they seemed to be watching the duels, while the Master Sentinel was facing her.

Observation Room

Adeline nodded again to show the she understood, at least mostly, before biding Master Ryan farewell. "Thank you for your time. You've given me a lot to think about." That said, she turned and left the room to join Revan.

Joining him outside the training rooms, Adeline smiled at Marcus, relieved to finally be away from those rooms, and their occupants. Not that she had any problem with them, but she didn't feel like being chastised by one of the Masters now that she had finally gotten the chance to speak with Revan. "Are you hurt?" The question was more of a formality than anything else, given the fact that she had observed him throw the duel before the attack connected, and she was fairly certain that the Knight was tough enough to withstand such a strike without becoming truly injured. "I watched the end of your fight with Master Ryan." She hesitated, unsure of whether or not to mention the fact that she had also noticed how her had deliberately lost, Eventually, Miraluka decided to wait and see if he would bring the matter up himself.

Courtyard

"Fierfek!" Jehaa curses as a sizeable shape drops down from the tree. Reflexively, her forearm rises as if to bash, before a familiar voice arrests the motion.

"Oh, heh heh, hey Jehaa..."

She regains her composure, lowering her arm and softening a hard snarl into a broad smile of recognition, "Atsa! Space me, what are you trying to do, give me a heart attack!?"

Of course she knew the little padawan. For one thing, everyone knew about the 'Alarm Clock' that inhabited the Padawan wing. Then there was his species; not too many small sentient lizards running around. Finally, he was one of the Jedi that preferred to be alone sometimes, and that had put him more than once in her path when she took her own solitary runs through the deeper jungle.

They'd chatted a couple of times, and it'd gone well enough. Jehaa looked up, where he'd come from, to see a few snapped twigs and fluttering leaves. She grins lop-sidedly knowingly.

"... Taking the 'express route' down today?"

And then another voice rings out, from farther out.

"Cpl! Preparing for our next match?"

Half-turning, Jehaa offers a salute of sarcasm, "No, sir! Figure I'll give it a week, tops, until you just keel over from old age! Kick the walker right out from under you!"

Recovery Room

Adeline thought for a moment about what she'd observed during her Master's duel with the Gorvan-Horansi, before answering. "Well, I noticed that you adopted a rather defensive fighting style, in direct contrast of your normal usage of Form V. This forced your opponent to fight more aggressively than he normally might, since, from what I could tell. employs the dual-bladed variant of Soresu. While this granted you the benefit of fighting outside his comfort zone, it also forced you to sacrifice most of the benefits of your favored form as well." There was a short pause. "I also noticed that you refused to press your advantage, and instead chose to forfeit after a strike that did you no real harm."

The question about her own duel caused Adeline to hesitate, unsure of exactly how to word what had happened. "I won, but I think I took the match too seriously, especially considering my opponent. He got the first strike and was apologizing, when I took the offensive. I just hope this doesn't end up reflecting negatively on you, and that I can make amends with Atsa." Apparently, that would have to wait however, as the Padawans were sent to their rooms. Never one for unnecessary rule-breaking, even though it did seem quite early from her perspective, Adeline said goodnight to Revan, and returned to her room.

Recovery Room

Revan was preparing to respond to Adeline, when the call for the Padawans to return to their rooms was heard. "Good night" she said to him before turning to leave the room. "Good night" Revan whispered, something was different about his apprentice. Any other day he would see her spark of purity and devotion to the force. Yet now all he could see was a disturbance, as if she was unsure of her own actions. He watched her move to the door...

"Commander you wont believe.." Valik and his party barged through the door with purpose, almost knocking Adeline over "Oh my apologizes Lady Adeline" He looked to Revan "Sir if I am interrupting?"he paused

"No, she was just leaving" Revan leaned against the table, and crossed his arms "Come in". They waited for Adeline to leave the room, Revan focuses in on Valik "What word do you bring old friend"

Valik motioned for Syrina to hand over the data pad "Latest transmissions from our field agents"

Revan took the data pad and scrolled over it "Go on"

"Bardoona is making fast progress. Most of the population currently willing to work, and eventually convert over. A few speak of rebellion but my agents are handling that" Valik said with a smile. Most of his agents were fellow Manalorians, his own clan since the other clans had no Mandalor to unite under.

"Nar Shadaa?" Revan said skimming the updates "Has progress been made there?"

"As you commanded sir. Profits rise, and the..." Valik started to lower his head

"Are they safe?" Revan asked raising an eye brow

"Yes sir, most have been sent to Baradoona" Valik knew when to keep his mouth shut "There is the issue with Kamino sir"

"Issue?" Revan handed back the data pad

"Well" a smirk came across Valik and his mens faces "More like a blessing. Liara found what we had been looking for"

Vanguard Barracks

As Jehaa made her way to her room, a figure sat in the rafters and watched her pass beneath. Her clothing was dark, even by Jedi standards, though it had become a trend amongst the sentinels that served along Knight Revan.

Image

"Jehaa" the figure jumped down "Heard you got your cute little butt, kicked by a gruffy old man" it was Elyssia. Elyssia was a sentinel in the Jedi Order, but more importantly she was the closest person to Marcus Revan other than Master Ryan. Elyssia was his most treasured companion, and she thoroughly enjoyed antagonizing the Vanguard "Maybe next time you and I can have a go" she put up her fists in a mocking way. She flicked her hair back and placed her hands on her hips walking around the Vanguard "Ah well, maybe when your less wanting. And Revam doesn't have his sights set on you" she smirked at her.
