On most occasions, Hikari dresses in a way that destroys the line between formal and casual. He tends to favor nice button up shirts and shorts to jeans and t-shirts, and has a rather large collection of ties, though the one commonality between every one of his outfits is a soft white scarf hand-knitted for him as a gift. Hikari never takes off this scarf and refuses to let anyone else touch it unless their hands have been washed recently. He rarely wears any type of jewelry. In terms of accessories, his scarf is an obvious constant, and he tends to be somewhat picky when it comes to shoes. He feels that shoes have to be comfortable in order for them to look good, since a person won't be able to view them as 'pretty' if the structure makes their feet hurt from walking in them all day long.
Hikari isn't one to take much interest in makeup, though he does enjoy painting his nails, usually black or different shades of green. The subtle color is often illuminated by his pale skin and becomes much more obvious than it would be on the nails of someone with darker skin. He doesn't consider nail polish to be a purely feminine product.

' Most people assume that I'm a snob because I grew up surrounded by wealth. They assume I think I'm superior to them, that I see them as less than human, and it makes me feel like a broken record. There's not a single person who wishes to see me for who I really am inside. '
When a person takes even a moment to speak to Hikari, the first trait that shows itself is how simply polite he is. He always uses the correct honorifics with those he speaks to and isn't one to make assumptions about other people despite how many assumptions are made about him. Hikari is a gentleman and will always treat his peers with respect, even if they don't respect him in return. When someone near him is being insulted, Hikari is the type of person who would counter said insult with a clever pun and a smile, which sometimes makes him seem more naive than intended.
Hikari is a rather passive person and isn't one to engage in arguments or fights, instead speaking with words that drip with venom. His polite mannerisms forbid him from insulting anyone and he would never harm another person unless he absolutely needed to. Because of this he was an easy target for bullies as a child, though his family named stopped the bullying shortly after it began.
Over the years, Hikari's personality hasn't evolved much. Ever he was a child he was taught to remain kind and caring toward those around him, helping those who needed help, and making sure to keep those he cares for out of harm's way. He's always found himself to be rather independent and fun-loving, wanting adventure and searching for the meaning of his life. Hikari has never wanted to be the one to inherit his father's company and instead favors the idea of being able to travel the world, moving from place to place without any convictions to hold him back.
Hikari doesn't have much of a dark side, and he hasn't been in many situations where he would need one, though he can be quite intimidating if he tries hard enough. His unearthly green eyes make for a nice, piercing glare and he's very skilled at controlling his expressions, impressively so. Hikari doesn't enjoy these moments, however, and greatly dislikes arguments of any kind.
Hikari would make for a very loyal friend if someone took the time to speak to him. Because so many of his peers tend to avoid him, Hikari has stopped attempting to make peace with his classmates, instead keeping to himself and acting according to whatever situation comes his way.

Place Of Birth: Kyoto, Japan
Current Residence: Tokyo, Japan
Current Occupation: Student
Hikari was born into wealth, into status and extravagance, and into a world of complications. His parents were kind and caring, teaching him not to worry about the things around him and to always be himself, meanwhile teaching him to be the perfect gentleman along the way. He grew up surrounded by servants, though he wasn't pampered by them as would be expected. His parents believed that he needed to be able to do things on his own in order to be good at anything, though he still wasn't allowed to strain his muscles too much or participate in activities that could be considered dangerous. Early childhood was pure bliss for Hikari, the only way of life he knew.
However, the moment he began school, that bliss seemed to fade. His father owned a multimillion dollar company that manufactured everything from electronics to clothing lines, and the Aizawa name was known by anyone who had lived in Japan longer than six months. At first, Hikari was bullied by his peers, endlessly teased and picked on for being 'superior'. The bullying didn't last long though, since the bullies quickly realized they wouldn't get anything but an innocent smile out of the boy. Ever since then Hikari has simply been ignored and avoided by the majority of his peers, his classmates constantly acting as if he wasn't even there. He doesn't seem to mind it.
When Hikari was thirteen, his parents had a deep conversation with him and his sister about who was going to inherit the company after they retired. Hikari had never wanted the responsibility and stress being the owner of a company would bring, and Akari gladly took over the role as successor to the Aizawa family name. She graduated Senior High a year later and went off to attend college in America, claiming that she needed to learn about the rest of the world first if she was to inherit the entirety of the Aizawa family's goods. She's only sent letters to remind them of her existence.
Hikari had been at a crossroad when the time came to choose what college he wanted to attend. Relatives wanted him to attend only the best college in Japan, in order for him to be prepared to take over the family name should Akari fail, meanwhile his parents encouraged him to go where he himself felt led. In the end he decided on Tokyo University, leaving many of his relatives to speculate about how his parents had raised him. Hikari's parents fully supported this choice.
Graduating Senior High was a victory in Hikari's eyes. He felt as if a huge step of his life had been taken, and he wanted to see where it would end. Shortly after he graduated, he moved away from home to live in the dormitories at Tokyo University. His sister and parents both send him weekly letter, Akari from where she's staying in America and his parents from the main house in Kyoto. Hikari treasures every single letter he receives and keeps them in the drawer of his desk, hidden safely away from prying eyes that he knows don't exist, though he fears them despite this.
