“Ezell! I’m glad you could make it. Now, we’re just waiting for Jei,” Ahala said.
Ezell readjusted her bag again. “Really? He’s not here yet?” She asked, surprised. She honestly thought Jei and Ahala were attached at the hip. Maybe he wasn’t coming after all?
Ahala told Ezell about how the Chancellor ordered for them to be accompanied by clones, and her displeasure at the idea. Ezell shared the sentiment.
“Think you can help me get them off the ship, so we don’t have suited up babysitters?” Ahala asked.
“I think I can try,” Ezell laughed. She was suddenly excited at the thought of all the mischief she and Ahala could cause together.
Ezell was thinking over a plan that would get rid of the creepy clones, when one of them insisted that they leave immediately. Ahala snapped at the clone and Ezell’s eyes widened; she had never seen Ahala look so angry.
Items began to float off the ground and Ezell wondered briefly if Ahala was going to throw them at the clone. As much as she would have loved to see that, she knew what kind of repercussions they’d both be in for from the Jedi Masters. Ezell wasn’t looking forward to having her sentence extended after she just got it shortened.
“Hey, cool it down, short stuff. He’ll show up,” she said with a laugh, and placed a hand on Ahala’s shoulder. “You’re in charge here, don’t let these guys get to you.”
Ezell’s tone of voice came out a little too ‘big sister’ for her liking, but it was an accident. She was so used to being around people her age or younger, kids she’d known for so long that she might have even felt protective of them. But she wasn’t with them anymore, and she needed to remember that.
“Wait!” Everyone looked up to see Jei running as fast as he could. “I’m coming too…!”
Well, well.
Ezell smirked, “Look who finally showed up.” She turned to Ahala, “What’d I tell you?”
She gave Ahala a final pat on her shoulder before she lowered her arm. As Jei climbed inside, the landing doors slid shut with a deep noise. She shrugged off her bag and sat down; they’d be ready to take off shortly.
“We were about to leave without you,” she deadpanned.

Jei let out a forced laugh, “Yeah… No, I uhm… I’m glad ya’ll waited. I wasn’t going to come but,” he looked over at Ahala in the cockpit, “I guess I changed my mind.” He gave Ezell a shy smile.
Back into Space, Jei thought to himself. He’d traveled via ship multiples times in his life. Despite going so far from his farm on Dantooine, Jei actually enjoyed space travel. He found the journey to be somewhat relaxing for him, as outside of the thick ship walls was complete sensory deprivation. No sound and only distant movement from floating rocks or debris.
It was one of the few places that didn’t overwhelm his senses.
Though, Jei could feel that Ezell wasn’t handling it the same way. She was definitely… Tense.
“Hey, you okay?” Jei asked her all of a sudden.

She looked around the small ship, at the clones sitting across from her, at Ahala in the cockpit. She didn’t know Ahala could pilot.
“—okay?” Jei said suddenly.
Ezell was broken out of her thoughts, though she didn’t quite hear what Jei said to her.
She turned to look at him, “Huh?
“I said,” he repeated with a soft smile, “Are you okay?”
Ezell narrowed her eyes at him with a scoff. “Of course, I’m fine,” she lied.

He paused. Ezell hadn’t mentioned much about herself in the short time he’d known her. She seemed even a bit resistant to share her name. She didn’t seem the secretive type… Maybe just closed off?
“’Course I have. I’ve lived all over the place,” she answered.
He perked up, “Really? Where are you from? You don’t sound Coruscanti.” We couldn’t help but feel excited at having a veteran space explorer on board.

“’Course I have. I’ve lived all over the place.” This wasn’t exactly a lie, it was more of a half-truth.
He’d told her that he was from Dantooine, right? She didn’t need to be patronized by some Outer Rim farm boy.
“Really? Where are you from? You don’t sound Coruscanti,” he asked her.
Ezell laughed. He sounded so obviously like an out-of-towner. She wasn’t sure what a ‘Coruscanti’ accent even was; the street she lived on was full of people of different backgrounds, aliens from all over the galaxy with different cultures and accents.
“I’m definitely local. But uh- my mom was from Corellia. So, you know, I’ve obviously been there,” she said. She wondered briefly if it would be alright for her to lie so much to these people, but she doubted they had any way of finding out the truth. Though, she knew first-hand the consequences of getting caught in a lie.
“Local, really? So, you been at the Temple for a while, then?” He asked.
“Nah, I haven’t even been here for a month,” she laughed. “I’m not like you or Ahala. I’m only going to be here for two more weeks. Then I’ll finally be free to do whatever I want.”
She wanted this trip to be done as soon as possible. Her personal possessions were treasured—If limited, and she didn’t like the idea of leaving them unattended for too long, even if Master Sheena had insisted that they’d be protected. Her current bag only contained her essentials and about a half-dozen spare headscarves.

Once cleared of the republic ship Ahala would turn the auto pilot on and would then sit back in her chair. She would hold her fathers necklace and then gripped it. She hadn’t been away from the temple since she was small so this was a very huge step for her.
“Commander Ahala. Why are we going to the outer rim?” A clone asked. “Really none of your business. Just so you can report back and have more people die? Not happening. The only two people I trust on this ship a are jei, Ezell and Rex, and Rex isn’t here. Don’t like it deal with it” she said and would then walk past them and went to her bunker keeping her anger in check.

At that moment, she felt the ship shake and rumble as it got ready to take off. Ezell didn’t wait to strap her bag and herself in; her grip tightened on the handlebars. After a brief few seconds of hearing the engines warm up, they were off.
Her stomach flipped.
Droyk. Droyk. Droyk!
Ezell looked over at Jei, who didn’t seem bothered in the slightest. Of course, he wasn’t; she rolled her eyes with a quiet scoff.
It took a short while before the ship breached the planet’s atmosphere and settled into a cruising speed, that Ezell was comfortable with removing her seatbelt.
“Don’t like it, deal with it!”
Ezell looked up right as Ahala stormed out of the room. She hadn’t been paying attention, so she wasn’t sure what that was all about. Ezell looked over at Jei again, and he didn’t look like he had even noticed Ahala leave.
Ugh.
Ezell got up from her seat, did a quick stretch, then followed after Ahala. The door was open, so Ezell walked in to see Ahala sitting on a bunk fiddling with a necklace in her hand.
“Uh- hey,” she said and leaned against the door frame coolly. “Don’t tell me we’re all gonna’ be sharing this one room?” She asked with a teasing smile. It wouldn’t be her first sleepover.

“Why would Ahala want to go to the outer rim? And take jei and Ezell.” Mace windu asked. “Closure will need she, come to light things will.” Yoda said. “Dark side I feel waiting” Yoda added looking out the window. “Knowing Ahala, she won’t let anything happen to her friends or the clones.” Obi wan said. “I bet she will try to ditch the clones at the way station that’s half way there.” Anakin said. “True she might but why would the chancellor send almost a whole thing of clones with three younglings.” Fisto asked as everyone looked at each other.
^back on the ship^
The clones would go to their bunks they shared and each took off their helmets. “That kid Ahala, she powerful.” A clone said. “Yea did you see how mad she got. I thought she was gonna throw stuff at us. Though Rex I don’t think you should have said that” another clone said and Rex took off his helmet. “I had to, I don’t want her to know I’m here. Ashoka asked me to come and watch over her incase something happened.” Rex said. “But how do you know her? I mean why does she trust you out of all the clones?” An older clone asked. “I was there when Obi wan found her. She pushed one of my guys back. But when she got to the temple, I gave her a lightsaber I found in her home. I think it was one of her parents but not sure. But I found it as I was walking out” Rex said.

Ezell followed after Ahala, a little confused, until they entered a separate room and her confusion turned into surprise.
The room wasn't very large at all, but it had all the amenities she'd want, like a bed and a closet. The best part was that all her things were there, just waiting for her.
"I talked to Master Sheena and she didn’t have a problem with your stuff coming along. Since we're 'gonna be gone a while," Ahala said, and Ezell suddenly remembered that she wasn't alone. "I hope you don’t mind."
Ezell was honest to stars touched; she was at a loss for words.
"That's uh- real nice of you," she said, her tone not showing any of her gratefulness. "Yeah, uh- yeah."
Ezell slowly sat down on the bed, unsure of herself. "You're not kidding, right? This isn't a joke? Seriously?!"
Ezell wouldn't say she was ecstatic, but she was awfully close to it. She knew it would only be temporary, but she didn't mind in the slightest. She was already accustomed to short-stays, and she hadn't had a bed of her own for a long time. She definitely wasn't going to pass up this opportunity!

“So two week till we get to the relay station” a clone said startling Ahala who force pushed him the air. “Sorry sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you” the clone said. “Boe Dont do that” she said setting him down and would sit back down. “Why do you call me that I’m clone number...” Ahala cut him off. “I know clone number 114456. But I’m not calling you a number I’m giving you a name. Look I don’t like a lot of clones and few I trust. Rex is one of the clones that I do trust, he would be the only person out of everyone other then jei and Ezell that would talk to me. But he spoke to me when I first got there to the temple. I’m half human, no one wants to talk to a hybrid.” Ahala said.
“Is that why you were kept in away from others. Obi wan told us about when he found you” boe said “yes, my parents were scared that if found out I was half human we would be shunned in the village. I look more human then anything else.” Ahala said and would close her eyes. “Sometimes I wish I could speak to my mom and dad and ask why I was kept inside all the time and never let outside expect for when it was morning before anyone else woke up.” Ahala said.

There was of course no Ugnaught, or even any roommates. A room to himself was a first. The bed wasn't too big but oh, was he being drawn to it.
Jei wanted to say something more to her, but Ahala was already on her way out, so all he managed was a short “Thank you!” before she walked out the door.
Instantly, Jei threw his bag on the floor and leapt onto the bed with a giggle. "Ya'll can wake me when something happens," he said to nothing. A stretch and a contented sigh had him completely ready to sleep and disappear into the nothingness surrounding the ship.
But...
He sat up and groaned. Jei didn't know anything about their trip: where they were going, how long it would take, or what their goal even was! Sweet and beautiful sleep would have to wait. He needed to ask Ahala what the plan was.
Jei made his way out of the room and stopped when he felt something uneasy in the ship. Ahala was arguing with one of the soldiers accompanying them. Instinctively, Jei hid behind a support-wall. He'd always been scolded for listening in on people's conversations, but did it really count if you just happened to walk in on it?
"...I’m half human. No one wants to talk to a hybrid," He heard Ahala say, her tone angry and possibly hurt.
Was that how she felt? Did people really treat her that way? Jei hadn't noticed anything at the Temple, but he definitely couldn't say he paid close attention to anything around him.
She continued. She mentioned her home, her parents... And it didn't sound nice.

Rex would be leaning against a door way and look at jei. “You know you’ll get caught. Your jei right? Heard about your strategy back at the temple.. I’m Rex head of the 501 but I’m here to watch out for you guys and Ahala.” Rex said as he would watch Ahala read a star map and would sigh softly. “She’s gonna work herself to hard. She’s gonna fall asleep right there reading that map.” Rex said looking at Ahala.

The man didn't wait for a response. "I’m Rex head of the 501, but I’m here to watch out for you guys and Ahala,” said the human. Judging from where his voice was coming from, Rex seemed to be more than a head taller than Jei.
Jei nodded and fiddled with his fingers behind his back.
“She’s gonna' work herself too hard. She’s gonna' fall asleep right there reading that map,” Rex said looking at Ahala.
"Y-yeah..." He muttered and thought for a moment. He titled his head to the side and faced toward the front of the ship, his curly bangs falling in front of his mask. "Are you two close? Uhm- sir?" Jei asked.

Ahala would look at the star map. “So the outpost is here, and the planet we are going is here.” Ahala said and would get a call from Ashoka. “Ahala, how are you?” Ashoka asked. “I’m fine Ashoka. What’s wrong?” Ahala asked. “Nothing just checking in with you is all. I know how you like to stay up all hours.” Ashoka said. “This is true and will probably keep happening as I get older. But I’ve tried everything, connecting with the force to find answers and it’s all pointing to my home planet” Ahala said. “I see, here’s some advice. Sometimes what you need isn’t always what you seek.” Ashoka asked. Ahala thought for a minute and then closed her eyes. “Thanks Ashoka. I will contact when we get to the station.” Ahala said and ended the call.
Ahala got up as she shut the star map and would then walk to her room and would sit in the middle of the room and would meditate as she did she would appear in a room full of doors. “What you need isn’t always what you seek” she repeated. As she thought about what Ashoka said.
Count dooku felt the force being used and would then reach out and would twist the meaning of the words to Ahala. “The dark holds many things young padawan, it may hold the answers you need” count dooku said and would slowly appear in front of Ahala. Ahala backed up from him “dooku” Ahala said and would hold her ground. “I am not here to fight child, merely to offer. I can be your master. None has wanted you due to your race of being a hybrid” dooku said and Ahala would close her eyes. “That’s not true!!! You don’t know what your talking about!!!” Ahala yelled. “Isn’t that why the council never sent a master to you no matter how hard your trained?” Dooku asked. “Shut up and get out of my head!!!” Ahala yelled force pushing dooku out.
Ahala would breath heavy coming out of her mediation and would see things floating in her room and would gently put them down and sat on her bed. “No sith will be a master of mine.” Ahala said.

"Ahala really wants to become someone's Padawan," he shrugged, "I don't get it. Why would you want someone who just tells you what to do?"
Jei smiled, "People probably can't order you around? Head of your group ya'know. That sounds super cool," he laughed. What would you call him, Captain? Commander? It seemed like everyone around him, Ahala, Ezell, were all way stronger and tougher than Jei.
Jei briefly hid behind Rex when Ahala walked by them and turned the other way.

Rex would look at jei. “Word of advice, the smallest in the group is most alway the mightiest” Rex said and would walk away back to the room he shared with the rest of the clones.
“Ok, let’s see. We will be passing though pirate territory soon. Unclaimed space.” She said and looked out into vast nothingness of space, she jumped when she got a hailing call from a republic ship. “This is Ahala Saas. What is the problem?” She asked. “Not sure who you are kid. But got problems. My men are pinned down by Separatist on the planet ryon” a man said. “Ryon? But that planet has never been explored by the republic. Not that I know of.” Ahala said and would then look back toward the clones and her friends rooms. “Give me a moment sir. I need to speak to my crew” she said and ended the call. “Ezell and jei could you come to the bridge please? And Boe can you bring everyone else please?” Ahala asked. She wanted to help but she wasn’t gonna leave everyone out of a decision like this.

Instinctively, Jei reached out towards Ezell, who was asleep in her bunk. He bit his cheek in thought. Jei supposed it was up to him to go get her. Hopefully she wasn't an angry morning person.
He approached the door to her room, and he could sense movement inside. He raised his hand to press what he hoped was some kind of buzzer, before the door opened instead.

Ezell was a very light sleeper, so as soon as Ahala’s voice started in the speakers, she was awake. Ahala sounded serious, so Ezell figured whatever the younger girl wanted wasn’t something she could just sleep through, though she was hardly going to rush. She did a quick stretch before she got out of bed; she didn’t feel like changing so she was just going to wear her sleeping clothes and undershirt.
She slung on her utility bag, grabbed her headscarf, and was about to walk out the door when she bumped right into Jei standing outside her room, the top of her head colliding painfully with his face.
“Oof-!”

He took a step back away from her, to avoid anymore attacks.
Ezell swore in a language he didn't know, "What're you even doing!?" She said as she rubbed her forehead.
"I came to get you!" Jei yelled back. He grimaced and held his chin. "I thought Twi'lek heads were supposed to be squishy," he whined.

“Ryon? But I’ve heard we were only exploring, why would there be fighting?” Boe asked. “I’m not sure honestly, it sounds suspicious to me but then again, I was in the temple a lot.” Ahala said and would then look at back at the com, the republic ship hailed back “have you come to a decision?” The man asked. “I’m still talking to my crew, you will need to give me time” Ahala said. “Look there is no other ship around and we need help. The council said you were the closest.” The man said. “The council? But we may not have enough supplies to even get to the station that’s halfway through our trip.” A clone said next to Boe. “Then you will do what your trained to do, die and fight.” The man said and Ahala would look at the man. “That may be your crew, but not mine. Until I have heard from all them, then I will call back but for a man of the republic you show no care for life” Ahala said and would then end the call and block the hailing for now. “Why are people like that? I know most people don’t like clones but they aren’t born to just die” Ahala said and then looked at everyone. “Should we help or keep going? This is everyone’s decision” Ahala said

She scoffed angrily, "No!"
Ezell ran a hand down her face in annoyance. Dank farrik, what was with this guy?
She sighed, "C'mon, let's just go already. Ahala's waiting for us." She gestured for him to follow her, but didn't bother waiting for him.
She finished putting on her head scarf just as they entered the bridge, and she saw Ahala standing with several clones.
“Whatcha' need?” Ezell asked, not hiding the boredom in her tone.
Ahala explained the situation, and as she went on, Ezell was further and further at a loss. She pulled a lekku over her shoulder in thought.
“Uhm, I’m not sure,” she said. While Ezell didn’t feel she was exactly capable of helping anyone-- especially a planet in the middle of a firefight, there was still something inside her that wanted her to agree. Though, there was also a part of her that wanted to get as far away from this as possible.
They were interrupted when the Republic ship called them back, demanding an answer from them. She listened closely. She felt a little proud at Ahala so confidently telling the man off before hanging up on him.
“I think I have to agree with what you said, Ahala. It does sound really weird,” she said. “What're you thinking, Jei?”
Ezell wanted to hear what Jei had to say before she voiced an opinion one way or the other.

"Uh... I mean. We're not exactly qualified for this kinda' stuff, right? What do we know about stopping an ambush, or battle, or whatever is happening." Jei hurried out with a wave of his hand. He rubbed down his neck in thought. "They'll be fine... won't they? I'm sure... it's not that bad... probably."
Jei couldn't hide the sweat going down his back or how fast his heart was beating.

“Yes I do. Due to the fact that I don’t have a battle ready ship and no experience fighting on another planet, I have to say we can’t help you. We have no mean of fighting. If our ship were to be damaged, we wouldn’t be able to leave. But I will get word out to the council to send a ship that is battle ready to you” Ahala said. “Your a coward, just like the other Jedi.” The man said.
Ahala would close her eyes and take a deep breath. “One thing I’ve learned from the Jedi is to know when to fight and when not to. And because I don’t have a battle ready ship, I’m not going to endanger my crew or myself. You may choose to do that sure but I will not.” Ahala said and then shut off communication to the republic ship. “Boe you and another take over driving the ship. I need to contact the council” Ahala said and would let Boe and another take over the ship and then would walk to a hologram caller.
“Hey Ahala calling, I wonder why” Anakin asked and obi wan answered the call. “Hello Ahala hows the trip?” Obi wan asked. “Good so far, but we just had a republic ship ask us for help, he said the council said for him to contact us, but I don’t have a battle ready ship at all. But why would republic troops be on Ryon?” She asked and Anakin would turn quickly. “What planet did you say?” He asked “Ryon. As far as I knew we never been to the planet. Ahala said and would look at both masters. “Your correct on that ahala, we will send a ship there as quickly as possibly, just get away from there as quickly as you can” Obi wan said. “Trust me don’t have to tell us twice” Ahala said and ended the call.

Jei grimaced, he may be the first one to admit to his fears, but having a stranger spit the word at them still hurt him.
Ahala walked off to interact with the Hologram caller and Jei followed her, still with a heavy look on his face. He stood out of her way, but leaned against a support beam to the side of the machine. He heard beeping and other noises before a familiar voice answered the call, a Master from the Temple: the tall one with the Coruscanti accent. Master Kenobi, he thought he remembered?
Jei crossed his arms and was silent throughout, as he let Ahala explain...
“Trust me, you don’t have to tell us twice,” Ahala said and ended the call.
He waited a moment before stepping away from the beam, and walked to his friend's side. "Are you okay?" He asked, concern heavy in his lilted voice. "That was pretty intense."

Boe would then keep the ship going past the planet. “So how much longer until we get to the station?” A clone asked. “About a week maybe less. I’ve sent a message to the station before we left to expect us.” Ahala said and would look outside and closed her eyes, then reopened them. “Some adventure huh?” She said chuckling.

How should I describe the station? Like, is it full of people, or is it very stiff and mechanical/militaristic, or more like a city where there's shops and food stalls and bunch of different alien cultures?
Let me know what ya'll are thinking. :)
