CT patrols the same hallway of the ship he's done at this hour. He's learned to make his marches down and back last two minutes precisely, so that by the end of his shift he's done fifteen down-and-forths before break.

He finishes his fifteenth march before doing a formal exchange of post with DN-4960, a decent friend of his.

He walks past Rex talking to the younger padawans, doing his best to ignore them as the bile rises in his throat.

They seem to expect every clone to love the fact that they don't have any individuality, that they were made to die for the Republic.

He had gotten good at passing his psyche evals. They set him on probation for a day or two after he disobeyed a command, but that was to be expected. He didn't know what to think about what he was doing anymore.

He's so lost in thought that he trips, sending his rifle skittering a couple yards away before he gets up.
He grabs up his rifle, then heads to his living space that he shares.

Ahala was walking with Boe after talking to jei. Telling him that were going to keep going yo the station, when she heard the clatter and saw CT. “Hope everything is alright, I know some of you don’t want to be here as babysitters.” Ahala said and Boe chuckled. “Some yea, but it’s a job” Boe said and Ahala would shrug. “I guess, but still fighting when you don’t want to. I still can’t get over that general. I mean, I get the war and we are fighting for peace, but just the..” Boe stopped her. “Look i know all clones were born and or made to fight but. We do have our own will.” Boe said and ahala nodded. “I understand that.” She said.

“Commander, we will be reaching the station soon. About 4 hours or so.” A clone said over the com link. “Thank you” Ahala said and then looked at Where CT walked.

Rex would tell jei bye that he had to check something, and happen to see CT walking into his quarters. “Taking a break? You know we don’t have to work while we are in here right? Ahala would rather us relax then work.” Rex said as he took off his helmet entering the room so Ahala wouldn’t see him.

"Taking a break makes you lazy. And the lazy are the weakest." CT responds, taking off his helmet. He respects Rex, but the older clone was harder to sympathize with.

He doesn't like being commanded around by a child, but good soldiers follow orders.

That thought sends a pang through his head. He grimaces.

"I just really want to have something to shoot at."

“Not always.” Rex sighs. “I’m sure once we get to the station they may have a place where you can shoot.” Rex said and would then look at his helmet.

Ahala would head to her room and would then sigh softly. She still couldn’t get what the general said out her head. She couldn’t take them on the planet that would have been suicidal because she has no back plan or ship. She would then grab a book off the shelf and began to read it. It was about her people she found in the library before leaving, she also began to remember how she was found as a child.

Rex would be remembering the same when he would chuckle at one his comrades being pushed back, he wasn’t hurt but the wind knockout from him, then he stopped chuckling and remembering the battle in the temple and how most of the droids were destroyed. “CT do you remember the attack on the temple? Do we know if they ever figured out what happened to them?” Rex asked looking at his comrade.

CT-1009 shrugs before wiping off the interior of his helmet. "I just know that I shot up forty-six of the clankers."
He begins his routine gear check, starting by putting all of his weapon's power packs on their charger, except for the three he keeps on him.

He puts back on his helmet, then walks out of the room to go check on the padawans.

He first checks on Ezell, then, seeing her reading, decides to leave her alone.

He approaches them, Jei and Ahala, who are standing in the hallway.

"What all have you two done? Everything A-OK?" he asks politely.

Ahala turned and saw CT. “Yea CT everything is fine. But you don’t have to do patrol on the ship, but I also understand if you want to. We should be at the station in a couple of hours or so.” She said and then would go silent thinking about what dooku said to her. She then grabbed her head in pain as pictures filled her mind of dooku training her as if trying to get her to become a sith. She would then push the thoughts from her mind and then stood up. She saw jei worried looked and looked at CT. “I’m ok guys, just up to much reading is all.” She said

In the sith temple dooku would growl lowly. “She’s a lot stronger then I first thought. But no matter, the masters plan will work for both her and skywalker” dooku said and would then go back to planning.

Back in the temple with Obi wan and the others. “I sense that the dark side is trying to force something to throw the balance of the war.” Obi wan said and Anakin would also look at his former master. “I sense it to, I also had a dream that dooku appeared before Ahala but she forced him back. Should we meet her on her home planet to bring her back?” Anakin said.
Yoda would look at skywalker “no, find out she must. Her own she will. Truth will light come for Ahala.” Yoda said.

“Oh! Uhm-“ Jei stumbled over his words when the soldier approached them. “Y-yeah, we’re fine… Uh, sir. We were just talking.”

He couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed. He admired soldiers and fighters. They were brave and strong, something that Jei was not. But most of all, Jei thought they were incredibly cool.

He fiddled with his bangs over his mask, when Ahala groaned in pain. Jei raised a hand to her, hesitant to touch her. "Hey! Are you alright?"

“I’m okay, guys, just too much reading is all.” She replied. It didn't seem like the complete truth to Jei, but he figured it was just nerves about the previous holo-call. They all were probably on edge.

Jei offered her a smile, "O-okay. You outa' get some sleep then, huh?" He elbowed Ezell's side. "We all should."

"Everything A-OK?"

Ezell was brought out of her thoughts at the soldier’s question. She lazily looked over at him, then at Jei. His adorable excitement was too much for Ezell to resist teasing him.

She leaned forward and pinched Jei’s cheek.

“Aw, what’re you getting all embarrassed for?” She snickered.

When Jei elbowed her in the side, she laughed then elbowed him back harder. She liked getting a rise out of him, it was fun to see him grow just a bit of a backbone and make him act a little less like a Jedi.

“If you can sleep, have at it. I’m getting restless here just waiting to finally get to the station,” she said with a grin.

She would never admit it out loud, but she was most looking forward to seeing buildings, tall ceilings, and not being cramped on a tiny ship anymore.

“Yo, Helmet? You ever been to this place?” Ezell asked CT.

CT shrugs.

"My current tour of service has been around Ryloth and the surrounding territories. Now I'm here."

"To be honest, I don't know where we're going. I was just moved becuase these guys were down a man."
"And please, call me CT-1009 or Dessel."

"Yeah, Ryloth. I served with the 342nd Infantry division under Commander Jaf until his death. We were up against a legion of droids. Then I was reassigned to a cortosis mining planet owned by the ORO company to protect shipments for our armor. Then I ended up here."

He pauses for a moment.

"Have you kids ever seen a commando droid?" he asks. "Deadly opponents. It's hard not to hate 'em."
He taps his left shoulder plate, where scratches numbering in the forties are. "I've killed a few. Quite a few. I'm sure it's not hard for y'all, though. Lightsabers and fancy powers and all that."

“I’ve heard of them from other padawans and masters when they would come back from their travels. “ Ahala said and also remembered them from when they were in the temple when it was attacked. “We should be arriving at the station in a couple of hours. I’m going to outer rim after we stock up on supplies. Your welcome to stay or stay at the station when we get there” she told the clones and would then sigh softly. “But I’m gonna go get some rest before we get there” she said and excused herself from the group.

Jei nodded at the soldier. “Sure! Dessel…” He briefly wondered if the slurry of numbers the man had said was some kind of weird code name, but he wasn’t sure. Jei didn’t know much about the military. His only exposure to these soldiers came after he joined the Jedi Order.

Dessel however, was really interesting. He seemed strong and resilient, not weak of heart or mind, Jei could tell. It was also clear to the young boy that Dessel was quite a bit taller than him, and spoke in a hard, deep voice.

“Wait, we never really heard about your home planet,” some other person asked Ahala. Jei was curious as well. Though he’d admit to being an incredibly poor student, he was however very fascinated by other planets, races, and cultures.

Jei was borderline excited to here about Ahala’s home world. That was, until she started explaining, and he was reminded of what little info he already knew about her. Ahala’s home life was far from happy.

He could feel the pain inside his friend, bleeding out into the abyss.

Jei didn’t know what to say, so, instead, he kept quiet and listened.

"Have you kids ever seen a Commando droid?" Dessel started, "Deadly opponents. It's hard not to hate 'em."

Jei cringed at that idea.

Then, he could sense that Dessel was showing off the dents and scratches in his armor. Jei reached his hand out to feel the marks but pulled his hand back before he could touch it. As a Miraluka, Jei could tell where general shapes were, such as his companions or where the floor stopped and the wall began. But small intricate details like that weren’t clear to him. Though, reaching out to feel the scratches himself, yeah, definitely too nervous for that.

When Ahala had excused herself and rushed off, Jei couldn’t help but frown in nervousness. He bit at the inside of his cheek and fiddled with his sleeve. A piece of string had even become undone and loose.

He could tell she was upset, but the last thing he wanted to do was bother her. It wasn’t his business, nor was it his job to fix people’s problems, not that he could in this situation. But he couldn’t help but worry. It seemed to be all he ever did.

Jei let out a sigh. “I hope she’s alright.”

CT suddenly recognizes that the kid, Jei, must not be able to see the scratches on his armor. "It's currently about forty of them."

He realizes that these padawans aren't so bad. They don't see him as the expendable cannon fodder his superiors do.

Speaking to Jei, he consoles the padawan, hitting him lightly on the shoulder. "Don't worry too much. Everyone is probably just fatigued from the attack."

He recognises that Jei is worried and probably pretty tired.

"You don't need to be nervous. You're a Jedi, however young you are. You're being trained in powers few can wield, so that you can preserve peace across the galaxy, assisted by one of the largest militaries to exist in the past millennia. You are fighting to preserve the union of the senate. You're all important. All of us are."
He hoped that helped.

Ahala laid on her bed and looked up at the ceiling and would close her eyes and then reopen them. “The answers are always where you seek them” she said repeating the words Ashoka said to her. “But what does she mean?” Ahala asked herself and would sigh again, she took out a holo cube and would toss it making it come alive. She would look at what she could do, it was a cube given to her by master fisto when she first arrived to the temple to help with her training with the force she would then pick lightsaber blocking. The holo cube put out a droid that was a hologram that fired at her, she would block each fire that was sent. She was angry at herself, the council for not trusting her and mad at the universe. She sent a blast back the the droid ending the program. She began to calm down a bit from that.

Rex would look off toward Ahalas room. “Can’t we tell her your here Rex?” A clone asked. “No not till the station. I have orders from Ashoka and I plan to carry them out” Rex said and would then walk to ahalas room to knock on the door, when he heard heavy breathing and opened the door, wearing his helmet as he entered the room “Commander what are you doing you ok?” Rex asked.

“I said to call me Ahala, not commander. I’m not a Jedi knight yet. But I’m fine was doing a bit a training before resting. “ she said and Rex would look at her and took the light sabers from her and set them away from where she was. “If I have to stun you, I will. You need to rest this isn’t the temple. “ Rex said to her and Ahala would sigh. “I know but when you have trained for so long, just to get a master you just keep training no matter what.” She said and would stand up and look out the window at the vast emptiness of space.

“Look I know you want a master to train you but can’t you appeal to the council to be a Jedi knight” Rex asked. “I could but I already know the answer. It would be no, because I’m to unpredictable to them. “ she said and would close her eyes. “But go ahead and take over for Boe let him rest and same with the others.” She said and would lead Rex out of the room and shut her door. She went back to her bed and would lay on her side and began to slowly fall asleep.

Jei couldn't stop the yelp that came out of him when Dessel smacked him over the shoulder. Still, he let out a laugh and smiled towards him.

Dessel's words hit him close. "T-Thanks," Jei said and rubbed his neck shyly. "That's actually really nice to hear. It's kinda' hard for me to get into my training, but you sayin' that makes me feel a bit better."

It clearly did help.

"I'm just struggling to be a good Jedi, ya'know?" He shrugged with a small grimace.

“You are fighting to preserve the union of the senate. You're all important. All of us are,” the soldier, or Dessel, said to Jei.

Ezell pursed her lips as she watched them. She hardly agreed with the sentiment, but she knew that with this crew, she would likely be the only dissenting opinion.

"I'm just struggling to be a good Jedi, ya'know?" Jei said.

Something about him reminded Ezell of the kids she knew back home on Coruscant. Always doubting themselves or putting themselves down. She always tried her best to knock some sense into them when she could. The life they all lived; they couldn’t let themselves get dragged down by self-doubt if they wanted to make it.

Especially when it came to meeting some useless standard.

"Not tryin’ to step on any toes or anything,” she started. “But I've spent a little while with the Jedi, and honestly they just seem like a bunch of self-important snobs who sit around all day doing nothing.”

“...I've spent a little while with the Jedi, and honestly they just seem like a bunch of self-important snobs who sit around all day doing nothing,” Ezell said.

Jei's face made a variety of different expressions, only in a few moments, ranging from offense, to confusion, to an awkward smile. "Oh, ha...ha," he made a forced laugh. "Yeah, I guess it might seem like that, but I think they do good."

"You... think?" Ezell asked, unimpressed.

Jei placed a hand over his chest, "Yeah! I mean, they've never helped me personally, but I've heard they help out other people."

"Oh!" Jei let out, slightly startled by Boe's sudden appearance. "Hi there, uh... Sir!" He said with a smile. "Dessel was showing off his battle scars!" Jei clenched his fists and waved them around as a talked. "I think they're really cool!"

The irony was not lost on Jei, a self identified coward, that he found himself impressed and excited by the idea of battle-ready soldiers.

"Have you seen a lot of action too?" He asked Boe.

Dessel grimaced under his helmet at the remark about the Jedi, silently agreeing.

"I'll go get her," He volunteers, then stands up and walks over to her room, knocking on the door when he arrives.

"Time to roll," He says. "We're here."

Jei snickered to himself, "Time sure flies, huh." He said aloud.

He nudged Ezell next to him with his elbow. "You excited to go?" He said with a smile.

Ezell scoffed, "Oh yeah," she deadpanned. "I'm bouncing up and down in excitement."

Jei laughed, "Aw, it's not going to be that bad. I like goin' to new places, it's kinda' fun, for me at least." He stretched his arms behind him and took a breath. "Come on," he gestured toward the hall with his head, "Let's meet with Ahala."

With the soldiers and the Jedi students standing together in the bridge, Ahala gave her announcement.

“Okay so, after this I’m heading to the Outer Rim. Your welcome to stay or go with me,” she said. She seemed pretty dead-set on this, if her voice was any sign. But even if her language was clear and confident, something about her vibe felt off.

He knew that others considered it invasive of him to constantly sense how people were feeling, but he couldn't help it. It was normal to Miralukas, and he certainly didn't know how to stop doing it.

Ahala continued, "Let’s just hope we can get what we need, and that they have it.”

Ezell raised her hand, "Question! What're we looking for again?"

"Yeah," Jei added, "I thought we were going to a planet?"

Jei nodded as Ahala explained. He listened politely as she gestured at the star-map. That was one of the down sides to being with non-Miralukas, they always used holograms, which he couldn't sense.

He nudged Ezell next to him with his elbow, and leaned closer to her. "What planets are by it?" He whispered to her as Boe and Ahala spoke to each other.

Ezell shrugged. "As if I know," she whispered back to him.

"So!" Jei clapped his hands together once Ahala and Boe were finished speaking. "Are we headin' out?" he asked with a smile.

"So! Are we headin' out?" Jei asked.

"Yeah, what's the hold-up, Leader?" Ezell asked Ahala, and leaned on Jei's shoulder with her elbow. "I wanna' check out this station before we see your planet."

If she was being honest, she just couldn't wait to get off this blasted ship and finally be around something more familiar to her. Sure, a space outpost would hardly be like home, but it would have people and streets, and it'd have fresh food. She also couldn't deny the feeling that once they reached Ahala's planet, there would be no more opportunities to take a break.
