Introduction

A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away....

Plot
Jedi Rest-stop
Coruscant to Dantooine, just a trip back home after a particularly drawn out Jedi investigation, you, your brothers and sisters, and Master Paka'a pile into the small ship and ready yourselves for another long journey. The trip between Coruscant and Dantooine was a long one, and one that couldn't be completed with out a refueling stop somewhere in between. The fuel happened to fall low near the Korriban system, so you dropped from warp and docked at the orbital space hub. Korriban had been ran by the Republic for almost 400 years, and ironically your Jedi crew would be royally welcomed on the homeworld of the Sith. Upon arrival Master Paka'a senses something a bit off with some of the ships passing the station for the surface, but dismisses it quickly as a squad of Republic troops greet your crew. They offer food, fuel, and a comfortable place to stretch your legs before you head out once again. You and the other Jedi find a place to settle in and eat just outside the hangar, the hospitality of the Republic always seems to amaze you as you all wait for your vessel to be re-fueled. Out of no where, a commotion inside the hangar catches your attention and when you go to investigate you find Master Paka'a and a large group of Troopers surrounding a group of Smugglers----

Smugglers Paradise
Korriban, It used to be a home world for the Sith but now its just an empty wasteland with a few sparse ports for trading and refueling. You heard otherwise, tales of Sith artifacts hidden beneath the sand, ripe for the taking, would be worth a fortune in credits on the black market so you packed up and headed for the dead world post haste, hoping to line your pockets from the visit. Getting past security wasn't hard, not with your skills and you flawlessly passed through and landed on the surface but to your surprise, there were others who apparently heard the same rumor. Dozens of small class freighters were here before you, and more were scheduled for landing, you'd have to act fast if you wanted to get your hands on anything valuable. You left for the valley, what you found there and where you found it is a mystery only you and the Korriban space hub authorities are aware of, Yes, you were caught while trying to leave the planet along with the rest of the smugglers. Too many slipping through eventually caused suspicion and doomed the whole lot of you in the end. Once aboard the station, you were greeted by troopers AND Jedi, who apparently knew you were carrying Sith artifacts so you really had no chance to begin with. Tough Luck, you thought to yourself as they cuffed you and sat you on the floor of the hangar----

Troopers Duty
Just another day patrolling the Korriban Orbital Defense station hangars, why a dead planet with almost no population what so ever would need an Orbital Defense station is beyond you, but its where you've been assigned and you kinda like it here... its quiet. Mostly quiet anyways, occasionally the place gets some interesting visitors like today, a small crew of Jedi requesting food and fuel, apparently just heading back to Dantooine. Shortly after their arrival, their leader alerted us of almost twenty Smugglers carrying random Sith artifacts, most of it junk like drinking glasses and ceremonial knives but a few came through with some dangerous cargo, a few Sith lightsabers and one particularly troublesome Nautolan with an old Holocron. Removal of artifacts from Korriban's surface is considered a heavy crime within the Republic, as the Jedi fear Korriban and consider most of its hidden treasures to be dangerous. You then realize you were going to be swamped in paperwork after the apprehension of the Smugglers as you helped restrain each of the vagrants----

The Attack
---- Then alarms sounded throughout the station as everyone in the vicinity looked to each other in confusion. The station shook violently just as a voice cried out over the intercom. "We're under attack!! An entire fleet of Sith warships just dropped out of hyperspace! Defensive positions." Sith shock troops poured into the facility and closed in on the hangar. The Troopers freed the the Smugglers and re-armed them just as the hum of the Jedi lightsabers sounded behind the group. Explosions shook the entire station and blasters could be heard right outside the docking hangar, every man and woman grouped together and focused their weapons on the only entrance, anxiously awaiting the breech. Flames erupted from the hall as the door was thrown across the room, sith soldiers poured in and the group opened fire, blaster bolts and shockwaves filled the room as the brutal fight began. The door to the hallway provided an effective choke point and the first wave was easily dispatched, but the ominous sound of lightsabers being switched on outside was a disheartening sign. The walls in the hall were filled with a red glow just before the Sith entered the hangar, not Sith the Jedi had faced before, True Sith, The species this galaxy hadn't seen in centuries. Red skin and distorted faces, much taller than the average species, and primitive in appearance, they struck fear into the hangars defenders. Blaster bolts flew once again but this time the assault was deflected back to the attackers, the group had killed many of their own with their shots. Their opponent weakened, the Sith took the opportunity to begin their attack, from all side the group was hit, lightning, ships thrown at them, lightsabers slashing away, the only thing holding the motley crew together was Master Paka'a. He was able to dispatch a few but just as soon as victory was in sight, another Sith emerged from the hall, much taller and ghost white. Obviously the leader, he proved to be much stronger than the others, bearing down on Paka'a and attempting to crush the ships in the hangar to prevent escape.

"Run!... RUN!"

The last words from Paka'a, The Nautolan that had given the Republic troops trouble before was now leading what was left of the group to his ship. A small A-class freighter, probably had many illegal modifications but given the circumstances they were welcomed. As everyone boarded and braced themselves, a voice could be heard from the front of the ship. "We ain't out of this yet, gotta whole fleet to out maneuver, buckle up!" The tiny freighter rocked to and fro as it was hit with debris from the battle below before it finally rocketed out of the hangar and into space. "Ten seconds until the warp drive warms up! Keep 'em occupied." The guns on the ship sprang to life as they tried to fend off dozens of warships and countless fighters. "Five Seconds!!" The ship rolled, dove, and flipped as it tried to evade as much fire as possible, but still it took heavy damage from the large cannons of the Sith warships. "Three More Seconds! Keep it up!" They couldn't take much more, fires broke out within the ship, red lights of the warning systems flashed, and the ship began to seal sections of itself off as it began taking hull damage. A ding rang in the pilots cabin signifying the warp drive had finished its warm up and the Nautolan captain dropped the switch, sending the ship into the safety of hyperspace.

Quick Summary
A rather eventful day for the Korriban Orbital Station, Basically all three groups were brought together by a series of unrelated events and and were attacked by a new sith fleet as they dropped out of warp from unknown space, with reclaiming Korriban as their goal. Barely escaping, the crew decides the best course of action is to warn the senate and the Jedi council of the attack, so that they may defend the Republic.

Classes

Jedi
Stark defenders of truth and justice throughout the galaxy, they use a supernatural power known as the force to protect others and defeat their enemies. The Jedi Knights present on the Korriban station were young, impressionable, and every bit inexperienced.

[Weapons: Lightsaber, Dual Lightsabers, Lightsaber Staff.]
[Armor: Light to Heavy]

Smuggler
Some expert pilots, others experienced bounty hunters, all whimsical criminals, every one a specialist in their own fields. Their precise aim keeps them alive, but their ability to hack computers, use stealth fields, and find alternative routes always seems to give them the edge in any battle.

[Weapons: Blaster Pistols, Heavy Blaster Pistols, Blaster Rifles, Vibroblades]
[Armor: Light only]

Trooper
The trained soldiers of the Republic army, they have a wide knowledge of weapons and are able to move effectively in clunky heavy armors. Big weapons and explosives are more their line of work, preferring to overwhelm enemies with superior firepower and finish their battles quickly..

[Weapons: Blaster Rifle, Blaster Pistol, Heavy Repeater, Grenades, Vibroblades]

-First off, Starwars and any fiction in this roleplay related to or inspired by Starwars belongs to LucasArts.

-All posts are required to have at least a 400 word minimum.

-George Lucas and friends created thousands of races for the starwars universe, I dont want to see a roster of 15 humans and 3 other. Find a race you like, and if you cant, make one up. :)

-Romance and violence are both acceptable and encouraged here, but don't let either carry the story away from the predetermined plot line, also be mindful of Roleplaygateway's policy on the subjects.

-Again, i don't want to see an entire roster of over powered Jedi, by the end of this roleplay we'll have soldiers whooping hordes of dark jedi, and smugglers who can shoot the toes off a sith lord. Dont go straight for the lightsaber just because you think you'll be the strongest, do it because you prefer Jedi to Smugglers and Troopers.

-If you read and understand these rules, put a smiley face at the end of your character sheet. :D

Zyras

The wily Nautolan's chest swelled with pride as he slammed the chrome switch into the pilot's console, having out ran an entire fleet of warships. The space around the ship stretched and blurred together as it climbed to warp speed, and a wide grin slid across the young smugglers face as his head was thrown back into the seat. It took a few moments for inertia to allowed him to move once the speed leveled out again, but he needed some time to gather himself anyway before facing the crowd crammed on his ship. Before anything else, he needed to figure out what was wrong with his ship, the blinking lights across his console were driving him crazy, along with the hole in his shoulder from the recent battle.

Zyras carefully removed his harness and switched the autopilot system on, taking a deep breath and finally peeling himself away from the chair. The cockpit doors parted with his approach, straightening his coat and adjusting his head tendrils as he stepped out into the bay to meet the people he had saved, more or less. Jedi, Republic soldiers, and a few Smugglers and criminals like himself were spread across the bleak metal floor of the bay, and he couldn't help but think it was odd to see such a combination all in one place, but crisis did have its way of bringing people together. The sight was disheartening though, a few wounded and the rest just rather morose it seemed, but they were alive atleast, and he probably had enough kolto left over from his last run to Manaan to deal with any major injuries present, including the rather nasty wound he himself acquired from a stray blaster bolt. Stepping towards the center of the bay, he cleared his throat as to gather attention to himself, and stuffed his hands into his pockets as he prepared himself to speak.

"So, that was pretty crazy, I hope someone here is a capable mechanic because I may need an extra set of hands soon. The ships going to need some heavy repairs, the engines are running at fifty percent and the hull is in pretty rough shape, she's basically on her last leg now so were docking on Ossus to make the repairs, the spaceport in Knossa I assume would be our best bet." He paused briefly to make sure everyone was listening, he had experience as a captain and knew how to give a few orders without looking like a prick. "Also, as my crew is now, erm... deceased, I'll need a co-pilot and a navigator for the time being, and Jedi, I'd like for you to discuss our next stop before we get to Ossus so we don't waste any time, as I'm certain your council will want to hear about... whatever those things were."

While making a mental note of any volunteers, Zyras winced as the sharp pain in his shoulder caught his attention, reminding him of the Kolto in his cargo hold. "Oh, one last thing, anyone with any injuries? I have some.. umm, supplies in the back that may help with that, if you'll follow me." Zyras was careful with his words, as Kolto was illegal to posses unless you were part of a large medical facility or transporting for the Republic, and he was neither of the two, smuggling Kolto for the Hutts just happened to be his latest venture. He left the group in the bay and led any following him back to the Kolto tanks in the hold. The tanks looked large enough to fit one adult male occupant and were filled with the sea green viscous liquid, but his destination was a collection of lockers positioned next to them. "Help yourselves to as much as you need, I don't think my employer would really mind given the circumstances." Inside were an incredibly large amount of syringes, also filled with diluted Kolto for direct injections, Obviously proud of the fact that he had them handy, he stepped back and allowed them to be taken from the locker before grabbing one himself.

Javen Silt

Javen was coughing and hacking as they were rushed off planet , in to what ;compared to the fleet of warships anyways; amounted to a armed rusty barrel. He was busy enough trying not to get hit by stray sparks or smoke and fire from damaged systems and the fact that he was trying to rapidly make any repairs he could to help did not make the situation any less tense. It had come to the point that he was so busy keeping the inside walls and wires of the bay up to any kind of level close to acceptable that when the warp drive kicked in after what seemed like hours he was thrown off balance in to the chest of one of the surviving republic troopers.

When he managed to regain himself after the first wave of sudden speed wore off he got off the trooper and coughed lightly "Sorry about that , bad balance in bad situations and all." with a light laugh Javen walked away to pick up his tools that had been thrown around just before the rag tag groups 'captain' walked in. Javen could tell at a glance that this was no trooper or jedi , the lack of robes and armor was a dead give away so for now he was safe from his....'extra' implants being called out. His eyes were scanning the group , focusing on injuries ranging in size from minor to near fatal but also making markers of more damaged sections of the interior for later and as soon as Zyras asked for mechanics Javen lazily raised his hand and gave a quick wave "On it , I'll have to wait tell we dock for the major stuff tho."

Picking up what was quickly left of his tools , as the rest of them had iether been confiscated or lost due to recent events he started looknig around for the minor patch work he could do while still in flight "'Eesh , shame too. Sure this flight buckets worth it's weight when it's running on a full set." with another light laugh Javen got right to work , many a system and many a thing had to be fixed and it wasint likely to fix its self....at least not intell Javen could find a functioning repair droid anyways.

GAR

Gar ran onto the last ship he could find during the raid. Without question or an order he manned the first open gun he could find. He unloaded as much cover fire as he could. Gar picked off fighters as they approached the ship. He swore he took out a good number of them until finnally the hyperdrive kicked in and they made the jump through space.

Gar came down from manning the guns after the jump from hyperspace was complete. He made his way to the cockpit to see the pilot was still alive. Gar shook his head as he made his way through the ship. Half because that was close and crazy. Half becuase he never thought a smuggler would be the one to save his life. As he came to the bay he noticed a slightly startled crew. Some Jedi and more smugglers, but was relived to see other Republic Troopers. Gar gave them a quick salute as a greeting and filed in next to them. The pilot who had the right to call himself our savior, for the moment, began to speak.

The pilot was now Gar's new captain. Gar had a sour look on his face, that luckly his helmet covered, when he was told this. He looked to the rest of the crew as they went about thier own buissness. Gar soon followed the group that had been injured. He followed them into the hold which had a suprising amount of kolto in it. Gar would over look the fact that it was illegal. Just like he would over look the fact that the captain might have just saved more lives by smuggling it.

Gar approached the captain and saluted. "My name is Gar sir. When we dock on Ossus I am capable to help with repairs. In the mean time is there possiblly a drink I could get on this ship?"

Aayle Tano

Padawan Aayle, only recently without a master, did her best at protecting injured passengers from the occasional falling crate inside a cargo ship. The ship did had a few illegal details about it, but at the time that was the least of the blue skinned Twi'lek's problems. Her Jedi Master Paka'a could easily be presumed dead as of now, and it seemed that control over Korriban no longer belonged to the Republic after that attack. 'What was with those...things,' Aayle thought as she stabilized a box that was close to falling.

Once the ship's hyperdrive kicked in and things seemed to be stable on their own Aayle looked around to see who all was there. The only ones she recognized that were not on the wanted list were the three Jedi and she thought she recognized one or two troopers. "Well this is an interesting group of people," she said, speaking rhetorically to herself more so than anything. Lucky for her she only got a minor burn from one of the first sets reflected blaster shots that barely brushed her left thigh. Although if it were not for Paka'a and the other Jedi Knights Aayle might not have been as lucky as she was. Sure her agility, balance, and jumping skill was enhanced using the force, but that was not enough to completely avoid how many lasers that were reflect towards her.

A door opened in the distance and a Nautolan came out as he seemed to make himself presentable. Once he reached the center of the bay he began to speak to everyone. The part that stuck out to Aayle the most was what he directed to the Jedi; likely clumping her into the mix even though she is only a Padawan. The moment he was done speaking and started off with a few people for medical supplies Aayle began to search for Nair. In Aayle's mind he would be the best choice to decide what the three Jedi and the Padawan should do next.

It didn't take more than a minute or two for Aayle to locate Nair, not to her surprise in the least. "Master Romanth, I may be over-stepping myself but I think it wisest for you to have the most say in what we do next." By 'we' it could very easily be concluded that Aayle meant Lenwe, Maranwe, Nair, and herself and not so much the others. "Although if I may suggest it might be best to report the incident to the Council as soon as we can." Even though Aayle knew that was one of the top priorities she didn't want to overstep any boundaries with still being a Padawan and all.

Nair

It had all happened so quickly, Nair could hardly remember everything that had occurred. It was an interesting experience, to strike blades with another outside of training. The only people he had ever fought with a lightsaber were fellow Jedi. Sith? True Sith? Where the hell did they come from? How could a fleet of such size have been created without the Republic's knowledge? This information needed to get to the council immediately. As soon as they landed he would have to get some message back to Coruscant, sooner if the ship's commo wasn't damaged. It also occurred to Nair that with the death of Master Paka'a he was now the senior Jedi, though he was no master. He still kept the title of Knight, yet he would be filling a master's duties for the time being. A quick scan showed that three other jedi had managed to make it to the ship, though hopefully others were able to survive by other means. There were six total and one padawan, and with Master Paka'a dead that left two Jedi unaccounted for. The captain of this vessel seemed to be a competent man, especially considering he was one of the only ones who was able to get his ship out in time, it seemed, and from his little speech he showed wisdom in bringing the Jedi in on the decision making process.

As he was getting up to move towards the captain, Nair was greeted by Aayle, a padawan. She had no business in any of the decisions, however as a Jedi she did have training that would prove very helpful here. "Aayle, you are to assist anyone who needs medical attention. Do what you can with the supplies on the ship and help those who need you." There were enough injured people on the ship to keep Aayle busy. The other two Jedi were both knights, albeit brand new ones it seemed. They had little experience, and were probably a part of this mission in hopes to gain some. If that were the goal, then it was a success. While they were still new Knights, they were one of only three who had ever crossed lightsabers with Sith.

Leaving Aayle, Nair walked over to the two Jedi. He needed to talk to the captain, but first he had to make it clear that he was, indeed, taking command of the Jedi element on the ship. "I need to speak with the captain, but you two need to listen. There's a lot of pain and fear on this ship, you can sense it too, and it is clouding our abilities. You need to assist in anyway you think you can to settle these people down. More importantly, you must keep a sharp eye. As quickly as everything happened, there's no telling who came onto this ship with us. As of now, our first order of business is to reach the council. If they do not know yet, they must be told." With that, Nair walked away from them and towards the captain. While he would have liked to spend more time with the two Jedi, he knew he could not.

"You've no reason to fear, sir," Nair said as he approached the captain of the ship, "you'll find no charges for anything that shouldn't be on this ship so long as your generosity doesn't meet a nasty end. As you said, we probably should get a little bit of an idea before we show up on Ossus though. The little I know of that place I've probably forgotten, though, so hopefully you'll be able to fill in certain details that ale has since caused me to forget."

Esok Moda

" Jedi, bloody lightsaber wielding freaks make me nervous....sir." The helmeted and armoured trooper said as the party of force users sent their docking request and security protocols. The harsh faced man the trooper spoke to made no immediate awareness of the trooper's lack of formality nor the comments regarding their new guests. Jedi were a common enough sight during this posting, an orbital defence station orbiting the dead planet of Korriban, that most soon got use to the robed figures. Though even the harsh faced man's silence could not deny the truth behind the words, Jedi never just showed up out of the blue. Fate it seemed had something against those who used the force, the galaxy had been torn apart more then once because of the destiny and whims of those who carried a lightsaber and a code.

" It's the Commander's problem Sargent." The harsh faced man replied as they stood on the command deck of the station, a perch that gave a nearly 360 degrees of the space around the instalment and every three hours a breath taking view of the dead planet they watched below. The last Jedi they had hosted spoke of having to fight the dark side energy that choked the planet below during her entire stay here. It seemed that the strength of the dark side here was surprising, given their height above Korriban. The harsh faced man and nearly all the other troopers to the best of his knowledge were not force sensitive yet even he could not deny the feeling of being watched. Once during a break period he had taken a orbital shuttle down to Korriban's surface and wandered the infamous valley, where tombs of old Sith Lords abound. The malevolence was something else, and he wondered if his senses could feel it what the Jedi who came here must have went through.

"Easy for you to say Esok, we all know your due for a rotation back to active service. I am stuck here for another 3 months." The NCO trooper spat back in reply with a shake of his head as they watched the Jedi's ship begin to dock. The name of the harsh faced man causing some of the technical staff manning their various terminals to look up. The name, being Mandalorian, was still unpopular. The galaxy was still healing from the scars he and his people had inflicted and the harsh defence waged by the few willing to fight the Mandalorians at their own game.

" Jedi are a whole lot better then Sith Sargent, at least they don't randomly chop the heads of people who fail them." Esok replied back, still disregarding the NCO's lack of formality. In a Mandalorian unit such things were severely punished but Esok was finding out during his tenure with the Republic Army that the code of conduct seemed up to Commanders to enforce and though he was a Captain he was not Commander of this station.

" I still don't trust 'em, They say a Jedi can control your mind. That they can even change your very mind, wiping out an identity to be replaced with one of their own liking. I got a cousin who runs a bar says he saw a Jedi force a smuggler to reveal some info with nothing more then a wave of his hand. That kind of power isn't natural nor should it be put in anyone's hands." The NCO said before leaving Esok alone up on the command deck.

Silently agreeing with the NCO the Mandalorian donned the helmet he had held underneath his right arm. Hidden behind the anonymity offered by the armour and helmet of a trooper he continued his sentry duty of the hanger. Observing the docking of the Jedi ship Esok spilt his attention between the unloading of it's passengers and the rest of the hanger bay he could see from his perch. Nothing unusual, as was expected, this posting seemed nothing more then an easy duty. Sometimes Esok half imagined this posting was thought up to let front line units get some rest without the loss of edge shore leave imbued. True the dangers of the relics the Sith tombs still held even after this long was one known even to the layman. But destroying them seemed a more permanent solution then guard duty in the Mandalorian's mind, but he wasn't in charge.

A slight ring in his helmet's audio inputs along with a display on the HUD made Esok aware of the next part of his duty aboard this station. The time to patrol the corridors for anything unusual, though most of the time nothing more shocking then reporting a need to replace a couple of lights here and there. If you were lucky sometimes you got tell a guest, like a Jedi, where the nearest bathroom was. All and all a very peaceful and slightly boring duty, one that he equal parts enjoyed and hated. The stability was a nice change from dodging blaster bolts and vibroblades, then again he was a Mandalorian thus he chafed under the normality of it all.

Leaving his sentry post after being relieved by another trooper Esok began his sure footed march through the corridors, passing the station's staff hurrying past on their various tasks. A few troopers in a hurry caught his attention and rushing after them the Mandalorian was in time to see a sight developing amidst the ships in the hanger bay. A group of what appeared to be civilians, no doubt smugglers, was being restrained by a rather large group of Troopers as an somewhat elderly Jedi was explaining something to the Commander of the station.

Smugglers, criminal types who were always looking for the next big score. A life time of mercenary work had taught Esok the value of Sith and Jedi relics to certain collectors so it was no surprise to see Smugglers here. With the flow of traffic to and fro from the station they most likely had hoped to remain undetected. Of course you could never discount the Jed.

"So what have we got Corporal?" Esok asked as their ships were being unloaded of the ill gotten cargo.

"Mostly junk sir, the odd Sith style lightsaber, even a...what you call it...holocron." The young Corporal answered, her voice somewhat excited. This was the first interesting thing to happen in a while so it was no wonder the Troopers was giddy with the chance to do more then switch out light bulbs and give directions.

" Let me guess we have our Jedi friends to thank for this bust." Esok added with a jerk of his head sideways to indicate the Jedi Master deep in talk with the Station's Commander.

"Yes sir, them lightsaber jockeys were barely off the shuttle before their Master tells us to bring them smugglers in for questioning. Sure enough we find all this stuff." She replied testing the heft of a short blade Sith knife, spotless even after it's long imprisonment in some Sith tomb.

" You know this means a lot of paperwork right." Esok said with a shake of his head as he shifted through the goods astounded at the condition of the relics. Some were warped by age, others looked like they had just been built. Of course the Jedi had taken prompt possession of the lightsabers and holocron though they seemed content to let the rest of it remain in the Trooper's hands.

Before the trooper could respond to the Mandalorian's retort the station's alarm rang out, which meant only one thing.

" We're under attack!! An entire fleet of Sith warships just dropped out of hyperspace! Defensive positions."

With those weighted words the troopers sprang to attention as the Station Commander ordered them into defensive positions. There was really only one viable way into the station and all eyes were on the hanger door as Trooper, Jedi, and even Smuggler alike were bonded together in this battle against an old familiar enemy.

As expected the Station shook under the intense bombardment of the Sith fleet and the sounds of battle rang out as the enemy's troopers began pouring in. On unfamiliar ground and attacking against a prepared position these troopers fared poorly.

Directing his unit's fire Esok chipped in with the efficiently only a Mandalorian could, his Westar-M5 blaster rifle blasting the life out of more then his fair share of the enemy. During this initial attack he showed little in the fear some of his fellow troopers, new to their duty, did. He simply ducked, returned fire and reloaded when the need arose.

" By the goddess." The young Corporal of earlier moaned as she lay being tended to by the unit's medic. She had taken multiple hits, which the cheap durasteel of her armour failed to stop. Thanking the powers that be his armour had a besker laminate Esok reloaded his rifle as an old familiar sound rung out in his ears.

The distinct hum of a Sith lightsaber being ignited, it seemed the enemy had enough of toying with them and had sent in the big boys. Holstering his rifle, a blaster was a poor weapon against a force user, he grabbed his vibro-short sword from it's scabbard upon his left thigh. But though he knew enough about the force not to trust a blaster even Esok was unprepared by the actual sight of the Sith. A phantom of the past that were even half forgotten by the Jedi let alone the common folk.

Before he could gain control over his unit the Mandalorian watched on in frustration as several opened fire, only to have their desperate attempt at life become their death. Then the frustration was turned into the battle fury of a Mandalorian as he faced the charging Sith whom were taking advantage of the thinning of the Republican troops.

Esok parried the powerful swings of a Sith's lightsaber as all hell broke out amongst the defenders. The hanger bay once their salvation was becoming their tomb as their own ships were being used as deadly weapons. Esok caught up in his deadly duel with the Sith only caught flashes of it. Swinging up then sideways he pushed the deadly lightsaber away from his body. Normally the Mandalorian would press with an straight thrust to the face but he realized all his skill was going into merely defending and that to attack would be to expose himself. Still as he spun the vibroblade in a circle to deflect a barrage of straight thrusts Esok realized time was not his enemy. It took all he had to keep one lightsaber away from his body and already several Sith were closing on were he duelled his attacker.

"Run!... RUN!"

The frenzied orders issued from the Jedi Master as he was cut down by his assailant, a Sith that was marked out from his kin by colouring.

Esok agreed it was a good idea and risking a low kick he felt no small amount of satisfaction as the feel of cracking bone transmitted through his boots into his leg. His attacker fell to his now one good knee, taking advantage of the situation the Mandalorian ran after the Troopers that had survived the onslaught.

The hasty retreat tipped off the Sith and they began to crush or cripple the ships but fates be kind Esok and the troopers he was following made their way onto a small class A freighter. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth when he realized who the ship belonged to the Mandalorian made his way into the ship's bay. But it seemed fate was not quite done with them and the Sith turned their undivided attention to the escape attempt.

The ship began to rock under such rough ministrations but between the efforts of the ship's captain and the efforts of the survivors, along with a good deal of luck they made it. Taking a deep breath Esok went to join the people mustering in the cargo bay, falling in with the surviving troopers returning the salutes thrown his way.

With the major problems taken care of the ship's Captain returned from his station at the helm to give a speech of sorts. Esok nodded at the suggestion of warning the council, but the odds of the Sith giving chase seemed high. Musing on that the Mandalorian took off his helmet and began to absent-mindedly polishing off some carbon scorching a lucky shot by some Sith trooper made.

Lyon Calfan

Lyon woke up in the seat to the gunner control of one of the ship's turrets. "What the hell?" He asked himself quizzacly as he tried to remember what was going on. Ah that's right...we were attacked by a large force on Korribban...Well that sucks....should probably warn the Republic, let the higher ups know. Lyon concluded in his head before trying to stand. He remembered there were others that made it to the smuggler's ship and had escaped the slaughter.

"sorry I'm late to the party, did I miss much?" Lyon grinned as he climbed down from one of the gun turrets and teetered into the main lobby where everyone had gathered. He was too late to hear the nautolan's speech, mainly on account for passing out for a moment in the gun control's chair. Looking around he noted that most of the survivors had escaped with minor injuries, Lyon was not so lucky. As he stumbled a bit closer to the group he prevented himself from falling over by placing a hand on a side of the ship's inner hull. He had been part of the frontline during the attack and as hard as he fought they had been overwhelmed and he took quite a bit of damage at the hands of his enemies. He had a nice gash in the side of his neck, his most severe injury, compliments of a sith true blood. Thankfully lightsabers had a way of cauterizing as they caused a wound so he wasn't bleeding heavily, but it burned like a plasma grenade thats for sure. His other injuries amounted to small cuts and stabs in his shoulders and back. His armor was scorched in several places and held blast marks all over. It was not odd to see him standing and grinning despite his condition, he had seen worse.

As the ship rocked Lyon was unable to keep his balance and began to teeter backwards. "Ah well, timber..." Lyon smiled knowing he couldn't steady himself and fell over, back slamming against the metal floor. Without the strength to get back to his feet Lyon could only lay there and stare at the ceiling. He laughed at his pathetic state. "Ha ha haven't been in this bad of shape for a while. Don't mind me, I'm just going to lay here and bleed all over the floor

Dalorr Carro

Dalorr ran onto the ship as well, not daring to look back. She'd only heard of sith in the vaguest of senses, old tales and history. She wasn't fond of the reality of them. As the ship made a break for it, she looked around at the ragtag group, noting who was injured and how badly. She spotted a couple of jedi, a good few troopers, and a few smugglers. As soon as she could find her feet, Dalorr got up and started checking the people with the worst injuries she'd spotted in the group. She briefly saluted the other troopers that were in the bay, to let them know she was one of them, as she went by. She was about to get to the first one, and was starting to panic over what she'd do with just her medpacks, when the captain came out. She smiled in relief when the Nautolan said that he had some medical supplies in the ship, following him. She spotted a Zabrak on the floor with some very nasty injuries, and she knelt down beside him, checking the wound on his neck. She noticed that he was a trooper as she was checking the semi-cauterized injury, before helping him to sit up so she could get a better look.
"Lightsaber? Blaster?" She asked, in the hopes that, if the amount of blood was any indicator, it would keep him conscious and calm. She figured it would be wise to get him along with the other injured people, just so that they'd all be closer together and easier to keep an eye on all of them, and looped his arm over her shoulders to help him.

Dall Varr
Dall, wielding a large Devastator rotary cannon, had been one of the last ones in, using his heavy weapon to provide cover fire for the retreat to the ship. Once inside and safely in hyperspace, Dall checked his gear. He had several burns on his heavy armor, but none of them seemed to have burned through, though he had a direct hit on his right arm, he wasn't worried about it, it was a prosthetic droid arm. The trooper sat his Rotary cannon on its butt and sat down on a crate, popped his helmet off and began to look around at the survivors. There were a few jedi, troopers and smugglers, and he immediately noticed Gar. The ships "captain' began speaking to the crowd, then took some of them to a storage room for medical treatment, Dall just blew out a sigh, sat his helmet in his lap and leaned his head against the wall.

Maranwe, unlike most of the others, seemed to have taken to the situation more lightly than she probably should have, being that she was rather excited to finally be a part of such an unexpected happening. She knew the others would just not feel the same about it as she did, but for all she cared, their opinions didn’t matter much, if any at all to her. She had looked about at the others on the ship, though it seemed to be with little interest that she did so. She wasn't afraid to admit it, she figured that if these others were hurt, it was their own faults.

Though, when she noticed Nair walking up to them, her attention moved to him, instead of scanning over the others on the ship with them. She hadn’t really felt the need to listen to his words too much, but when it came down to it, the way he started talking made her listen, and she didn’t much like what she heard.

She could feel the anger inside of her building up as he spoke, and she could have sworn it was rather obvious on her face, at least she felt as if it were. As he walked away and headed to the captain, her body tensed up slightly and she growled deep within her throat. She looked to Lenwe, a more than angry look in her eyes. “He’s telling me what to do,” she growled to him, “I’m supposed to listen to him.” Her words were now coming out in an almost hyperventilating sound, her own nails starting to dig into her palms. At this point, she was more like an explosion waiting to happen than an actual person dripping with anger.

#, as written by Soki
Lenwe had not really expected any type of battle to take place on the simple trip between Coruscant and Dantooine. Then again, he didn't expect Master Paka'a to stop a bunch of smugglers with Sith artifacts. Then well, the expected happened. Sith came out of no where, and not just the run of the mill claim to be sith, no the real sith; true sith. Which was fun experience to say the least. His lightsabers were on in an instant; but that didn't mean he was up to the battle. That much was clear just trying to stay alive was hassle; even with a master there to take the blunt of the forces.

His flashback to the events that had only happened a few minutes ago was over, he was now seated with the other two jedi's and a padawan in the cargo hold, of one of the smugglers that Master Paka'a was trying to get arrested. They had escaped the sith for now, but that didn't mean they wouldn't be back for more. He rubbed his gloved palms together nervously, his natural blood-lust due to his race had led him to keeping himself alive. When the captain of the ship made his speech and talked about needing a hand fixing things around the ship and a co-pilot and a navigator. He went to say that he could offer a hand fixing things, but before he could the elder of the three knights Nair, came over to them; and out right told them he was going to be taking charge as the voice of the jedi on this ship. He would normally be fine with that; but Jedi's were ment to pull the collective knowledge amongst knights, but treating him and Maranwe like padawans, well that wasn't going to sit well with him.

That wasn't the problem at hand though, as Maranwe's famous temper caught his attention laying a hand on her shoulder. "settle down...You know better then to let your anger get the best of you; we've hard enough time getting the council to believe we've not gone Gray on them.." He said calmly, offering her a friendly smile, and giving her shoulder a squeeze. He listened to what Nair had to say to the captain rubbing at his chin a little. It was then the sight of a fallen Zabrak on the metal floor, but before he could do much a woman had already moved to the man's aid. He shrugged his large shoulders and turned his attention back to Nair and the captain. " Captain, I can offer my assistance to small patch jobs around the ship, I'm not very good at repairing ships, but I can help out with smaller scale things around the ship." He stated sliding his hands into the sleeves of his cloak. He wasn't sure what either men would have to say to him calling out like that; Nair was head jedi in this situation.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

Well, I've a question. Is this dead? I mean I hope it's not, but just curious I've seen greater rps die before they've even launched. I really hope this one isn't dead yet.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

I think he's waiting for me to post. But i'm having trouble thinking of what to say. so, because i don't want to slow you guys down, just continue as if my character is unconscious on top of some cargo with a bottle of Raava in his hand.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

Yeah our fearless leader seems to have gone AWOL.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

Yeah, sorry about that. I only made Nair as firm as did because I wanted to both introduce him to your two characters as well as get a conversation going with the captain, and somehow accomplish all that all in the maximum number of words we were (at the time) supposed to be under. It was actually really out of character for him, and I'll fix it in future posts.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

you know, you guys are probably right, i just want to keep things flowing smoothly. How about we try this the traditional way for a while, and if theres no problem given the amount of characters then we'll ditch my rule altogether. :)

im not above compromise, i guess i was just trying to generalize the roleplay for everyone, but i should have got a few opinions first... so my bad Derek, do your thing buddy

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

I'm kind of with Derek on this one, though I bent and took this one up the pooper and did restrain myself. I'd of liked a bit longer of an introductory post, mostly because rereading mine now made it seem incredibly rushed, having to both introduce the character to the story AND interact with characters. It's kind of weird when you think about it. Most RP's have a minimum, yet we're restricted to a maximum. There's really no point in it. Should someone disappear for a long period of time we could easily give that person a summary of events. The RP won't reach it's potential if you restrict its writers.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

I will try but you need to explain the hows, whys, where, and what. Sometimes it takes more then 200 words, I am not going to shorten myself at the price of that. But as for the pilot spot I believe several characters have piloting experience, my own among them.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

im gonna wait for another post or two before moving further, still need a co-pilot and navigator in the cockpit for anyone who has experience as a pilot :P

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

I hadn't even realized the posting had started. XD

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

Awesome, but we have alot of folks posting, and should someone be absent for a prolonged period thats alot of catching up so just shrink it as much as your able. Sorry for the restrictions and i hope this doesn't bother you too much, there will be cinematic areas of the roleplay where you can go all out with your 3500 posts, but for now keep it small.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

@Bilgewater: That was only 1500 words, pretty moderate if you asked me. My original draft of that post was 3500 words.

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

@Derek Smith: Please keep the posts moderate in length as we have quite a few people posting

Re: [OOC] Starwars The Old Republic: A Beacon of Hope

yeah, sorry... busy day, im finishing up the last paragraph in the intro post as we speak.

EDIT: post away folks, and dont forget to include your characters name at the top of your post, we have quite a few people posting so it'll keep things a little neater. :)

p.s. Sorry about the random person posting... idk how he/she even did that considering i never accepted his/her character

Edited my characters armor and main weapon, Check it Bilgewater to see if its okay.
