❖ WHO I AM ❖

Nicknames
Liz, Lizzie.. she's heard everything ranging from Libby to Lizard, but most just call her Elizabeth. She doesn't mind nicknames, though, in fact rather enjoys them, and as she has such a long name that can be shortened in so many forms, she has a lot of them.

Age
15 years of age, ever since July 2.

Gender
Female.

Physical Description
Small. That's what Elizabeth is, if you were to describe her in one word. She stands at 5'1, and has always been short for her age. It seems like she's not going to grow much taller, either, if at all, much to her disappointment. It's not fun to have to ask others to grab something from the top shelf, and especially annoying when someone decides to sit in front of her in the Cineplex. As well as only standing at 5'1, she is also extremely thin, almost stick thin, due to her fast metabolism and love of sport. It's almost scary how thin she is, making her arms and legs look like twigs, as if they could snap under any amount of pressure. Though this may seem like it, she actually has very strong legs, due to her love for running and cycling. However, this can't be said for her arms; they are as weak as they look.

Her hair is often a static mess around her head, or in massive knots, due to the fact that, after sleeping on it, if she is to comb through it, her hair will stand on end, taking about an hour to calm down to it's natural position. It is a light blonde, almost white, though when she was younger it was a more brown color. It falls to about half way down her stomach when down and straight, though has layers running through it. She has a choppy fringe that often gets in her eyes, and her hair is usually tied in two plaits at either side of her head.

Her eyes are a deep blue color, which just gets bluer when watery. They are framed by long, dark eyelashes and light brown, possibly considered blonde eyebrows. She has a heart shaped face, due to her pointed chin, though egg shaped could also fit the description - but heart shaped sounds much better. She has a button nose and a small mouth which is usually smiling or opened curiously, as if ready to digest any information given to her. Though she has a small mouth, she does massive yawns, a strange but true and noticeable quality. She has been told that it looks like she is about to devour those standing in front of her, or is roaring like a ferocious lion.

❖ I'M DIFFERENT ❖

Personality
tim·id | adjective
1. lacking in self-assurance, courage, or bravery; easily alarmed; timorous; shy.
2. characterized by or indicating fear

When you first stumble along Elizabeth, you will probably assume she is quiet, passive, obedient. This is mostly because, around strangers, she is all these things and more. She is very careful with who she trusts, meaning when she does come across you, she will be quiet and distant, as she observes and analyzes you to see if you could potentially hurt her. As well as this, she is scared; have you ever head or the phrase 'stranger danger'? Well, Elizabeth certainly has. If she doesn't know you, then she has no idea who you are. You could be a nice person, or you could be a dark person. Is Elizabeth willing to take that risk? Certainly not straight away.

When you get to know her more, she will open up, and you will find that she isn't always quiet; in fact, she has a lot of opinions, she just does not express them often. She is smart and independent, with a certain level of maturity that adults seem to know to trust her with. However, this does not always work on children. She has often taken up babysitting jobs for extra money, and finds that she is terrible with kids. Perhaps, if there was just a baby to look after, she could manage; but when she has to look after a screaming toddler, a jumpy child and a stubborn pre-teen, things can get a bit more challenging. She realized long ago that children do not like getting bossed around, especially by other children, which means that until she is eighteen, she is going to have a tough time controlling kids, or even standing them.

Only once she is completely comfortable around you, enough to call you a close friend, will she show you her complete, stripped back self. Not that she is going to go naked - maybe I phrased that incorrectly. But once she is a part of your life, she is completely content with letting you be part of hers. Any friends of hers that she would consider close would know that, even though she comes across as a smart and mature young lady, she is still a child, and likes to break the rules, even if she is too scared to do so sometimes. If there is a topic that she is knowledgeable about, she will not shut up once started. She can be a challenge at times, as she can often be very opinionated, as well as having a very bad-temper, but she has a good heart and is very loyal. Her trust is precious, and very easy to lose, but hard to earn.

Skill(s)/Abilities:
Elizabeth is not the best at much.
She was never the prettiest girl in class, or the best singer, or the funniest. She couldn't sing, and certainly couldn't dance. She couldn't even draw a decent stick figure. The only thing she ever took pride in was her memory and how smart she was, but there were plenty of girls and boy that could easily get a hundred percent in the test. Besides, being smart wasn't something she should be too proud of - as far as she knew, her love of books and straight As made her a nerd.

So when she was ten, and entered an athletics competition for the school and came first, she was overjoyed. She had never really considered running a skill before, until she found out that there were proper contests for that sort of thing. Sure, she could beat her sister in races back home, but that hardly mattered - anyone could run fast, right? Well, apparently Elizabeth could run faster, which was something she loved. Ever since, she has constantly been into sports, though not ones like basketball and soccer - for one thing, she could get hurt too easily in them, the ball almost scares her, but the main thing is that with running and cycling, there are no rules. There are no out of bounds, except of course in a race, no net or ball, just the wind in your face. It helps Elizabeth to escape when she needs to calm down.

❖ MY PAST ❖

History
Elizabeth was born to Gerard and Matilda Morose on a summer's day in the back of a taxi. Which was certainly not the most glamourous way into this world, to be sure, but it seemed that not having a hospital right beside your house was enough to make them late to the hospital, and therefore Elizabeth came into existence on July 2, in the back of a sweltering yellow cab that smelt of sweat. Two years before and Pedrew was born, her older brother, and three years after the birth of Elizabeth along came a third child, Rosa. The three had always been very close as children.

When Elizabeth was seven, her parents divorced, leaving an empty hole where their father used to be, but was soon replaced by the strict, but fortunately almost never around, Stephen. He married their mother two years after the divorce. When Pedrew was fifteen, and Elizabeth thirteen, her brother admitted that he was gay. At first, her mother was encouraging and told him he was right for telling her, that she was fine with it, but when Stephen found out he was furious. Their mother, being as timid as she was and almost frightened of Stephen, let him yell at her son who she had been praising only an hour before. Pedrew finally decided he had had enough, and left the house that night. Him and Stephen had never gotten along, but that was the last straw - he snuck out and went to live with his father on the other side of Portland. He obviously didn't take after his scared mother.

It was only last year that Elizabeth found out why her mother was so scared of Stephen, when she came home from school earlier than usual when she had a stomach ache, to walk in on Stephen beating her mother. She burst into tears and ran out of the house, and two weeks later Stephen was gone and her mother seemed at least slightly happier. Pedrew decided to stay with their father, though visited often, at least once a week. Though it seemed it was over, it had crushed both Elizabeth's and her mother's hopes at finding love - after she watched two failed attempts. This didn't seem to affect Rosa, though it may be that she is still too young, or that it was because she hadn't walked in when Elizabeth did.

❖ Elizabeth Morose ❖

Have you ever heard of Portland?
Of course not. Portland is just a small town in the middle of nowhere, with little population and a few local stores, nothing more. Portland is Portland; Nothing special. You could probably find your way around in five minutes, and almost everyone knew each other. Portland is a home to a few sophomore teenagers, and some of these teenagers are quite.. remarkable.

Elizabeth slammed her locker shut on the first day of her sophomore year at Portland High, ready for a year just as boring as the last one. Her friend, Stacey, stood beside her, babbling on whilst Elizabeth pretended to listen, nodding every so often. It was only when the words 'New Kids' were uttered did she gain interest.
"New kids? What new kids?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her. Stacey grinned at Elizabeth's interest, obviously delighted to be getting attention.
"The new kids - Beck, Zachariah and Catalina Curwen. Duh."
"Curwen? Like Marvi-"
"Yup, they're some relation," Stacey said, nodding. She grinned at Elizabeth's surprised expression just as the bell rang. The girls parted ways and Elizabeth made her way to her first class, which just so happened to be History.

She sat down near the back, an empty seat beside her where she usually propped her bag, though today her bag was stuffed under the table like an unwanted sweet wrapper shoved down the back of her desk. Everyone shuffled around, taking out their history books and whispering about the new students. Ms. Jansen was cleaning her glasses, and quickly put them on the brink of her nose as she began to speak.
"Class, listen up!" she said enthusiastically, clearing her throat. "It's a new year and a new day!"
She was greeted with an awkward silence as everyone took their seats and waited for her to continue.
"Sophomore year is exciting, isn't it?" Ms. Jaren said, smiling eagerly.
Again, no reply. Yeah, great, if you think boredom is exciting
, Elizabeth thought sarcastically.

"Well, here is some exciting news!" From where her face had fallen a moment before from the lack of enthusiastic students, a smile lit up it's features. "We have some new students entering Portland High! Please welcome, Zachariah, Beck, and Catalina Curwen." There was a quiet murmur around the room, which disappeared as soon as the new students entered, two males and a female. Two of them, presumably Catalina and one of the males, had auburn colored hair, whilst the last boy had raven black hair. Two short, one tall. All in all, if Elizabeth were to describe her first impressions of them in one word, that word would be.. interesting.

She fidgeted nervously with her hands as they each took a seat and made themselves at home.
