What this sensation was that Serafina was experiencing for the first time was pain, specifically, her ribs were bruised and during the fall was in a state of physical shock. The blood on her hands was due to the deep cuts on her back from where her wings used to be and so for a few moments, Serafina silently cried in pain from the new sensation. After all, Angels didnβt feel pain or really anything, but she wasnβt an Angel anymore, she was fallen and with a human body.
It took Serafina a while to snap out of her shock once she realised the noise. It was soβ¦noisy. She spent her entire existence enveloped in either silence or quiet nature noises, only experiencing noise when listening in on humans and even that was at an incredibly low volume. But here she was, finding herself tucked away in a side alley with so much noise that she now felt throbbing pain on the side of her head. Why is my head hurting now?
As she pushed herself to her feet but quickly feeling lightheaded, Serafina grabbed onto the nearest pole and stabled herself. Everything hurts. But standing around and complaining wasnβt going to do her any good so Serafina took a deep breath in and finally looked at her surroundings. It seemed like she was in an alleyway that was also the back of a restaurant judging from the bold sign and the lovely aroma she was smelling. Her stomach growled in hunger and she smiled. Is this what humans call hunger?
Before she could decide on what to do next, she was surprised by the metal door opening in front of her and a man walking out, seemingly done with his shift. He stared at the pink-haired hair in the white bloodied dress in awe, stumbling over his words before forcing out an βare you alright?β
Serafina smiled, her very first human conversation and it was all so exciting. She touched her throat, wondering if sheβd be able to speak their language. βOh, hello um,β she felt her throat dry up and coughed slightly βyes, yes Iβm okay just had a bit of a fall!βShe looked down at her hands and wiped them on her dress before realising she was making it worse. As she looked up at the man, she noticed his trench coat and with a charming smile stepped forward.
βI got horribly lost and then clumsy me got a bit of a cut so I was just trying to just take some time to think about what to do and clean myself up,β she took another step forward towards the man, βbut you see, Iβm quite a mess and I didnβt want to scare anyone so I was wonderingβ¦if it wasnβt too much of an ask for me to use your coat, just to cover up and find my way to the nearest hospital.
Serafina was now right in front of the man who seemed slightly less surprised. It was a good thing she still emitted that calming and gentle angelic aura because the man had now begun to take of his coat and quite nicely helped her slip into it. She quickly tied up the front and gave the man a peak on the cheek before walking out of the alley without even letting the man speak.
What she wasnβt ready for was the sheer amount of people crowded in groups as if they were fishes trapped in a can. The London noise was getting to be too much for her sensitive ears and the throbbing pain from her head was getting worse. Regardless, Serafina felt a burst of energy perhaps from the adrenaline now alive in her veins as she walked along normally and felt excited about her new journey. Although she had no idea where she was going, she didnβt care.
