Image ((Surprisingly handsome Stef is surprising and handsome! He normally looks derpier and grottier. By my friend.))

Name: Stefan Finch
Nickname: Stef
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Job: Security officer

Appearance:

Build - Lithe and gangly. Rather than full out muscular, he's sinewy and athletic. Due to his height (6'7") and long limbs, he kind of looks like he hasn't grown into his body yet. About 1/4 of his left nipple is missing. He had a friend pierce both of them with a sewing needle. Understandably, one got infected, migrated closer to the surface and then got torn out when he was pulling his shirt on. The other one is still there, however. There are quite a few scars on his hands from punching people in the face. He has quite a few scars all over his body as well, just from general fighting, tripping over things, standing on cats, etc.

Face - Normally smiling dopily. He has quite a narrow face, matching his tall gangly build. There are some freckles across the bridge of his nose. Both ears are pierced. His left ear has a snick where one of the helix piercings was pulled out. His left ear has bog standard captive bead rings, and his right ear has cone studs (the things that look like spikes). One of his teeth (a canine) is missing, as it got punched out in a bar fight. One of his front incisors on the top is chipped right through the middle, giving him a somewhat snaggle-toothed grin. They're yellowed from years of smoking. He's a bit of chainsmoker (his fingers are also nicotine stained).

Eye Color - Blue

Hair - Red mohawk, ginger at the roots. His hair is naturally ginger. Bright. As in pretty much orange. He seems to hoard bottles of dye in his truck, and keeps it red most of the time. It's also been blue, white blond and purple before. He keeps it down most of the time because he hasn't got quite enough time to gel it day to day. He has a bandanna tied around his forehead to keep it out of his eyes. Stef has some kind of crappy goatee.

Clothes - He dresses practically, being a hunter/mercenary/handyman. However, this doesn't mean he dresses well enough to protect himself. So far he's had a lot of lucky escapes, and tends to rely on being agile. He wears BDUs on duty, though. Off duty? Wifebeater, hoodie, combats, big boots, parka if it's cold. He has a respirator that he wears if it's dusty or someone is using chemical weapons. And sunglasses for when it's sunny!

Skills: As well as being a brilliant gunman, as his job would dictate, Stef is a great mechanic. He'll often find himself fixing things up in his free time, especially due to the amount of fighting which goes on in the labs. He doesn't like how things seem to be so breakable, though. He's scarily good at finding lost things as well, and is pretty good at getting along with people.

Weapons: Anti-mutation gun, Bushmaster ACR, knife.

Weakness: Stef's only human, and at the minute he's finding his job incredibly stressful due to all the petty breakouts and fights. As such, he's more likely to get upset. Not go postal, more like flip his shit and then lurk in a corner. He's slim and agile, but not all that strong. He's not the sharpest needle in the sewing kit, and finds it hard to understand those who talk fast or use long words.

Personality: Stef is a really lovely man. He's friendly, and tends to remind people of a great big silly puppy. He loves talking with people and isn't the type to hole up or keep to himself. He's pretty pleasant to have as company. Stef is generous to a fault - he'd even give away the clothes on his back to someone if they needed it. As such, he's incredibly poor. He'll forsake beds for sleeping in the back of his truck. Just as long as everyone else is happy and has what they need. It's easy to assume he's naive because of this, but he's really not. Not very smart to an extent, but certainly not naive. He's not book-smart (he has trouble reading or writing anything but numbers anyway). It's to be assumed that if Stef was in the position to go to school he could leave a damn good mechanical engineer.

Stef tends to mix things up easily due to his limited long-term contact with people. Due to this, he'll often mix up friendship, love and sex, leading to him hitting on friends inappropriately, assuming someone who likes him enough to give him hugs and stay close loves him, etc. He's been getting better recently, but still. He's also bad with what is appropriate to do. When he's been starving in the past, he's killed and spitroasted babies and then eaten them. His logic? The parents can just make a new one. Apparently doing that to anyone over the age of 2 is wrong, though. Few people have been exposed to his cannibal tendancies, and the few that have would be less than likely to calmly tell him that you can't just eat babies.

In general, he's a very calm person. Happy, but calm. When he's wound up, his voice gains an edge and he talks quieter and lower than usual. He'll make comments about how good at target shooting it is and wouldn't it be a shame to spoil that nice rock with your blood and hadn't you better give that back to the nice man right away? He's pretty stubborn as well, and once he has hold of an issue he will not let go. Stef is also very perceptive, although it's easy to take him as an idiot.

Likes - Cuddles, hunting, driving, fixing things (and making new things when he can), making people happy, the sun, dying his hair, drinking, smoking.
Dislikes - Thieves (his hate for them is pretty immesurable), cold weather, mean people, people thinking he's stupid, not being able to read well, getting told off by doctors for chain smoking.

Aspirations - To make friends, to make money, to make people happy.
Flaws - Not exactly socially awkward - more like socially weird as hell, stubborn, sometimes immature, cannot read or write well at all, tends to overreact at small crimes.

Fears: Being homeless again, starvation.

Background story: Stef's family were killed when he was four or five. The event was so traumatic he has no memory of it. Due to this, he also has little he can dwell on about the event. He was found wandering around on the cracked tarmac of a road by a mercenary, a certain Lazarus Gaunt (real name Tommy Hill. WASN'T COOL ENOUGH). Lazarus raised him like a son, but Stef has always seen him more as a teacher and has great respect for the man even after his death. Still, Lazarus cared for the boy and taught him pretty much all he now knows. Unfortunately, Lazarus couldn't properly read or write (apart from numbers) and Stef can't either.

They moved around constantly, and so Stefan never made any friends, really, hence his somewhat weird and awkward way of dealing with people. The trauma of his parents' death may also have affected how fast he gets close to other people, although he can't say much about it. As he grew up, Stef learnt how to fire a gun, skin a dog, scav off of dead bodies, cook, and (one of his most useful skills) to fix things. Lazarus was a good mechanic, but he often sent Stefan on jobs to fix things, which added to his self-confidence.

Stefan's life certainly hasn't been without hardship, however. He often grew up hungry as Lazarus refused to join a larger mercenary group, and learnt to deal with this by hunting on his own. He's been rather independant since a young age, and it was unfortunately part of Lazarus' downfall. Stef was out working on his own (fixing someone's car) when Lazarus was shot dead by a gang he'd angered. When Stef found the body, he hunted said gang members down ruthlessly, and killed the last one about two weeks after shooting the first.

Since then, he's been on his own and struggling for a job. He somewhat lives his life by things Lazarus said. It's the reason he's so vehemently opposed to theft and isn't a big fan of swearing either. He has, however, signed up for a job at MUH as a security officer and got the place. He follows orders well, is a good shot and alright at dealing with people. Things weren't going well when, in his first week, he was attacked by an invading group.

Other: He can seem really sweet - lots of people find him loveable. It's easy to forget he's a killer.

So begins...

The world was hazy and spinning as Stef woke up, cracking his eyes open just a little. A pneumatic drill was pounding in his skull and he groaned, raising a long fingered hand to touch a bruise and heavy cut just above one eyebrow covered by a dressing. He tried to raise his eyebrows and winced in pain as the sutures tugged at the skin around that area painfully. His chest burnt as well, and peering down, the man noticed bandages covering the upper part of his chest and his midrif. He sighed and went to close his eyes again, when a nurse began to take the blood pressure, pulling at one of his lean arms to attach the device.

"Mr. Finch! You're awake!" she said, seeing his eyelids flicker.

"What happened?" he mumbled, peering at her dozily.

He remembered a huge, bear-like mutant flinging him into a wall and that was that. His head must have caught something, judging by the split left there, but his chest? His guard's uniform jacket and shirt were hanging at the end of his bed, bloodied and torn. He wriggled his toes gently, expecting screaming pain but relaxing when he realised he hadn't broken anything there. His arms seemed fine as well, besides a long, deep cut on his left arm. He didn't mind so much about that - it felt like someone had smashed him in the chest with a baseball bat. He struggled for the word as he waved a hand around.

"My, uh... uh... chest-bone... in the middle... is it broken?" he asked.

The nurse smiled and shook her head, handing him some painkillers and a glass of water. She'd seen the new security officer around, but had never spoken to him until now.

"Your sternum is fine. Seems the demon that threw you headlong into a door wanted to rough you up a bit more before it was shot down, thankfully. There are some nasty slashes on your chest. Why, are you feeling okay?"

Stefan smiled wonkily, then took the pills obediently. He never knew what to think of hospitals. The woman was being really sweet with him - he always associated doctors and nurses with irritable people who rushed around. Then again, he'd never had the money for decent medical treatment before.

"Yeah... just achy," he said, swallowing down the painkillers after and looking around him.

Seemed as if he was lucky. He'd escaped with nasty cuts, bruises and a minor head injury, but there were horrifically mauled, burnt, gutted patients around him. Some seemed to have no physical damage done - they were simply shuddering and wailing uncontrollably as they held their heads in their hands. His chest tightened and he sat up. If mutants were still on the loose... shit! He grabbed for his gun before the nurse lowered his arm and explained, calming him down.

It was another good hour full of examinations against brain damage before he was allowed to go. Briefly, Stefan's problem with understanding people who spoke fast alarmed the nice nurse, but once she explained, he was let loose. They were low on guards after this, and Stef would be needed. His injuries weren't small, but nor were they too major. Given a spare shirt, jacket and his weapons back, he left to use the elevator to go to the gathering room. Maybe they'd need reinforcements there? Seeing a researcher in the lift with him, he gave a polite smile, showing wonky, yellowed teeth.

"Hey, ma'am. You okay? Thought I saw you get hurt earlier," he said, full of concern as ever.
