Subject 124 ran out of her corner in the gathering area. "NII-CHAN!!!!!!" she yelled running over to the table Dorian was sitting at. He short black hair flowing behind her. Her eyes seemed to shine with joy as she saw her brother for the first time in weeks. She jumped into the air leaping into his lap. Dorian turned around just in time to catch his sister. "Izzy!" he said hugging his little sister joy filled his veins but only a smirk appeared on his face. Elizabeth looked over her brother's shoulder to see an beat up little boy. "Nii-chan! There's a boy....and he's hurt...." she said her smile disappearing. Dorian looked over at the boy "Go see what you can do for him okay." he said setting her down on the floor. Elizabeth nodded and skipped over to the boy. "Hi!" she said with a sweet smile kneeling down to his level. "Did one of those mean guards beat you up?" she said pouting. "I can heal you if you want?"

Carefully, Lack put him in the recovery position, crouching down beside him and waiting until he regained consciousness. He had been out for a while... the scientist gently checked his head for injuries, and then rummaged in his bag for a powerful little maglite. He carefully pulled back the man's eyelid and shone the light into his eye and watched the pupil dilate as it should. So it wasn't concussion, even though he must have hit his head on the floor. He clicked the light off and put it back into his bag, giving the situation a think. Checking the man's pulse, he decided to just wait with him and wondered what the hell the boy had done. He looked over at him in the room and frowned. He was only small, maybe he didn't know he could easily hurt or kill someone with his powers.

He sighed. It seemed like the onus was on him to sort everything out here. It was harder when you weren't the slightly grouchy, caustic boss with a foul mouth everyone knew, but he'd try his best. The organisation of the place really was a shambles, and it made him uncomfortable that he'd already shown his nervous side a fair few times today. He shouldn't have had to. He had just wanted to arrive, get shown around, and get on with his job. He figured he'd better go and ask the little boy, but didn't exactly want to leave the guard alone. Then again, he could just dart off and bring the kid over. He looked up at Lazarus.

"I'm just going to fetch the kid," he said, then headed into the gathering area to find the little boy.

He felt a little vulnerable surrounded by mutants, but realised that they probably didn't know his gun was loaded with regular ammunition. A rather... expressive girl was currently tending to the child, and Lack headed over. He decided it wasn't a good idea to offer his smile, creepy as it looked, and so just looked earnest instead.

"Hey, can we have a word? Over by the guy you knocked out? It's okay, I won't hurt you, I'm just concerned," he said, keeping his voice gentle rather than its usual unintentionally snappy tone.

Reminding himself this was a child, Lack offered him his flesh and blood hand. The mechanical one might have scared the child, who knew?

Subject 99 looked at the girl in front of him which was wearing a red shirt approach him. "Hello i'm Subject 99" He then took a closer look at her only to find that she wasn't wearing a red shirt it was a white shirt covered in blood stains. Subject 99 then backed away from the girl. He remembered what the guard said about him going to be living in the cell next to the blood user "you must be a blood user that the guard mentioned I will be living in the cell next to you nice to meet you" Subject 99 then decided to give a quick fake smile "would you mind telling me about the people here? and what other mutants like us live here?". He quickly interrupted himself when he saw a person that looked like a scientist walk toward him. Looking at the strange way he walked Subject 99 definitively knew something was wrong with the way he walked he had a sort of limp on one side. "Hey, can we have a word? Over by the guy you knocked out? It's okay, I won't hurt you, I'm just concerned," he said, I didn't know whether he was faking the tone or not. The man then offered his hand and now Subject 99 knew something was definitively wrong because the same side he limped on was the same side he did not offer his hand on. I did not take his hand and told him the truth "I will not go with you I'll just tell you what I did. The guard was harassing me and if I killed him I would no doubt go back into solitude, so i just let him suffocate until he lost conscious by not allowing any oxygen to flow into his lungs".

"That's not very nice..." Elizabeth pouted then noticing how the blood on her shirt was bothering him. "It's not real...I painted it to look this way....and no i think you mean my brother. NII-CHAN!!!" she said facing Dorian and waving her arms. Dorian saw his sister flailing her arms out of the corner of his eye. He stood up with his book in hand and walked over to them. "This is 99 and he's being moved to floor three. He said he was moving next door to a blood user and I'm not supposed to get a new neighbor." Elizabeth explained. "Oh yes that's right! I am to get a new neighbor. It's nice to meet you 99 my name is Dorian." The tall black haired cleanly groomed man said extending his hand for a hand shake. Even with the uniform of all the mutants a plain white T and white pants Dorian managed to look put together and well dressed. Elizabeth had managed to make herself a cute white pleated skirt along with her fake blood stain V-neck form fitting T. Dorian didn't bother to go back to his room to change. "My sister and I would be more than happy to introduce you to people but we're kind of new to the area as well." Dorian said the old red leather book in his other hand next to his side. Dorian's demeanor was mature and almost royalty like in the way he walked and held himself not int he I'm better than you but in his grace.

Preccocious kid... something to do with his mutation I guess.
Eyebrow raised, Lack retracted his hand, standing up straight. He wasn't the tallest around by anything (in fact, he was only 5'6"), but he looked gruff and moody and that sometimes put people off talking to him. He was also stocky in a powerful way with broad shoulders.

"You can't just go around suffocating people. Besides, I was only asking you to come out there so I could talk without that poor guy choking on his own tongue," he said with a little sigh.

Speaking of people being put off talking to him... those two kids were ignoring him. He cleared his throat, wondering why the little girl was screaming in Japanese.

"You're correct. It's not very nice not to pay attention and say hello when someone comes over," he said, chuckling.

"I'm sorry my sister has a rule that she doesn't talk to staff unless she has to. It's a defense mechanism she made. You'll have to excuse her." Dorian said turning his attention to the cyborg. "Elizabeth say hello to the man." Dorian said patting his sisters head. "Hello..." she said shyly moving behind her brother to her Lack was tall and kind of scary. People like him had done horrible experiments on her and she was scared of anyone who even looked like the people who hurt her.

"Fair enough. Hello, nice to meet both of you," he said.

There didn't seem to be any answers here, and so Lack sighed and decided to head back. Hopefully someone could come down and help the unconscious guard find a better place to lie. It was odd, he really should have woken up by now. Lack ran the possibilities of bother disorders through his head. Maybe the guy was so scared his body was just acting like it was unconscious. Not in a malingering way; rather through self-preservation, a bit like a fainting goat. When he heard 99's remark about blood, he sighed, hoping the child didn't notice the dried blood on his head, side of his face, neck and coat from where he'd been clipped by a bullet earlier.

He headed back to check on the man; he seemed to be okay. No tongue-choking. He then got up and headed back over to Lazarus and the two girls.

"Does everyone ignore staff here?" he asked the man, sick of working here already. "Or does my pretty face just stun people into silence, you reckon?"

Compliant, they said. Compliant my ass... he grumbled internally.

As the girl asked a question Subject 99 thought of the consequences of his answer but deemed it not unsafe so he told her "Yes, the thought of blood flowing outside my body is disgusting" he quickly changed the subject "so shall we talk talk to other mutants and find out there powers?" Subject 99 then looked around at all the mutants in the room some peering at him suspiciously and others trying to ignore him but failing to do so. Subject 99 blew a message into the closest mutants ears trying to find out who would react the most to it. "I Subject 99 need help to escape this compound whoever knows something pass a note to me later" Subject 99 acted desperate in that statement and peered at them viewing them react to the statement.

Dorian and Elizabeth where walking across the room in front of the door way when suddenly a guard came rushing in the room hot and sweaty with an semi-automatic pistol loaded with anti-mutant ammo. "You BASTARDS ruined my life!" he yelled with a drunken slur. He raised his weapon and fired randomly at mutants in the corners then pointed it at Elizabeth. "You scum don't deserve to live! If I let you grow up you'll destroy more lives! ALL OF YOU SHOULD DIE!" he said his drunken rage rising. Dorian stood in the way turning his back to the guard and facing his sister. "Elizabeth, take this and run. Run to the other door and page 456 will have the code get as many people back to their rooms okay." he said knelt down hid back protecting her. Elizabeth's eyes filled with tears she hated being away from her brother and fear flowed threw her veins. Dorian's calm demeanor slowed her heart rate and she was able to think. Elizabeth nodded a yes to her brother holding the book against her chest and running towards the other door. "Everyone follow my sister she'll get you out of here!" Dorian said with a loud but calm tone. Dorian's calm demeanor pissed the drunk guard off even more. "You... THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE FROM MEEEE!!!" suddenly a bullet left it's camber heading towards the young girl. Dorian heard the blast and tried to jump in the way. Time seemed to come to a stop. Silence was all Dorian heard his heart raced praying silently in his head that she wasn't hurt. Dorian was scared to open his eyes. "NIIIIIIIII-CHAN!!!!" rang threw Dorian's head making him open his eyes in shock he took a deep breath of air and suddenly he felt it. The pain the burning chemicals that filled that tiny bullet was like cyanide to the human body. The pain filled his stomach and into his chest Dorian clinched his chest. The guard continued his rampage shooting at other mutants on the other side of the room. Dorian fell to his knees the pain flooding threw his body. "We're people...you can't just slaughter people..." he said weakly gaining the strength to fight back. Dorian held his hand weakly in the air his blood following its limp movements. Dorian whispered "Blood blade..." and with a flick of his wrist sent his blood across the room threw he guards wrist that was holding the gun. Time froze for a moment as one last bullet left it's camber and the gun fell to the floor the guard stood in shock for a moment then his eyes focused on his wrist. His hand was gone..he looked down at the gun and there was his hand still wrapped around the trigger. The guard fell to his knees in pain as it shot up his arm. Dorian slowly stood and limped over to the guard. "We're people you can't slaughter people." he said softly to the guard. Elizabeth in this time had run to the other door and opened it the younger and the cowards followed her. They made it past the scanners to the elevator when they where cornered by guards. Who lead them back to the mutant gathering area to discover Dorian standing over the guard who was on the floor crying in pain.

Elizabeth looked around the room her brothers book against her chest. So many new mutants to meet. Her eyes stopped when they came across a hyena looking demon. Elizabeth skipped over to him and bent over her black hair falling over her shoulders. "Hi there! Nice to meet you!" she said with an innocent smile and sitting down next to him. "That infection looks nasty...has no one offered to help?" she asked with her childish charm.

The guards who had entered the gathering room to find 101 standing over a guard with his hand cut of two of them went to help the screaming human and the other two went for Dorian. At first they approached ready to fire but when Dorian started to fall to his knees the nicer of the two reached out and caught him. That's when they saw his wounds. The other guard went for Elizabeth. Dorian saw the guard going for his sister and grabbing her ruffly by the arm. "NO! LET ME GO!" she yelled. Dorian looked up at the guard helping him to stand. "Please...don't punish her...I told her to..." he said before fainting from the loss of blood. When Dorian came to his was in the intensive care unit. He looked around confused he knew that his wounds weren't that serious. Then a doctor walked threw the doors from the infirmary to the intensive care and shouts where heard. "I'll kill him for cutting off my hand! Stop treating the monster!" *click* The door closed. Dorian sat up and tried to get off the bed. Wincing in pain of his bullet wound. The female doctor soon made her way to him. "Now lay back down you may not be human but your stitches can still break." she told him in a playful tone. She picked up his chart "Oh...so you're the hero for the mutants." she said sarcastically. Dorian looked around the room humans where laid out all with serious injuries the smell of gun powder and explosives leaked into the intensive care unit. "What happened? Did a war break out?" Dorian said looking around the room and seeing the gore. The doctor wasn't allowed to answer his question. She opened her mouth to change the subject when she saw that his stitches had broken. With out a second thought she lunged forward dropping his chart on the ground and applied pressure to his wound. Everyone in the room gasped one of the nurses blurted out. "Dr.Carling he's a blood user..He'll hurt you!" she said concerned. One of the other nurses grabbed some gloves and put them on. "I'll take over you go clean up NOW!" she said with urgency in her voice. Dr.Carling looked at them all in confusion. "Everyone back to their stations STAT! There are humans that need attending to!" she barked the order and the room filled with foot steps heading back to their stations. Dorian looked down at the doctor confused. "Dr.Carling...they're right you know...about my blood..why aren't you..." he searched for the right word but was cut off by her answer. "Because last time I checked a blood users blood is just blood until they will it not to be." she said looking up at him with a soft smile. Just then one of the nurses opened the door to the infirmary and stood with the door open in shock. "NOOOO NOT PSYCHIATRIC! I'M FINE NOOOOO! PLEASE NOOOO!" the guard protested having to be dragged away. The nurse headed threw the door once the crazy guard was gone. *click* the door closed again. Dorian looked down at his sweet doctor "What happens in psychiatric?" he asked concerned for the human. "People are deemed unfit to do their jobs and are...relieved of duty." she tried to keep the sadness she held for the man out of her voice but failed to do so. When Dorian realized what she meant he tried to stand and walk to the door to protest for the man. In doing so he fell to the floor and all of his stitches came undone. "What are you doing!" Dr.Carling blurted out bring attention back to the blood user. "He's a person you can't just slaughter people." he whispered wincing in pain as he stood up. "Bring in another blood user to heal his wounds!" Dr.Carling ordered. The nurses didn't agree but did as they where told. Blood users needed to be used to heal the humans in the intensive care that needed it not some mutant with a bullet wound. The "trained" blood user was ordered to fix one of her own and with life less eyes she did as she was told. She had no spirit left in her no joy no...nothing. Dorian sat staring up into her life less eyes and his heart nearly broke. They had turned her into a robot no life in her at all. Her cheeks lacked color and her frame was weak and fragile. Dorian was about to reach up and try and renew her spirit when he was ruffly pulled off the bed. "You're better now...good now is time for your punishment." a snobby cold hearted guard said with an evil smile on his face. Dr.Carling looked in shock at the ruff treatment of her patient she had just gotten back from washing up. Dorian nodded to the guard and looked over his shoulder to see Dr.Carling appalled by their treatment of Dorian. Dorian just gave her a sweet smile before they forced him to turn around and walk to the elevator up to floor three lab three. There laid out for Dorian was a cold steel table with leather straps to hold him down. To the side of that was a amputation set and saw with a Carbon dioxide laser next to it. Dorian didn't fight them as they pushed him towards the table. "Subject 124? How is she?" was all that he asked before laying down on the cold steel. "She hasn't seen the inside of a lab in awhile." the guard said matter of factly. Dorian laid down and didn't fight knowing his sister was safe from harm. No anesthetic was given a scientist entered the room and sat on a cushioned rolly stool. He put on a face mask and picked up a scalpel his eyes focused on Dorian's arm. He drew the scalpel across Dorian's arm above his wrist. The scalpel was so sharp Dorian didn't feel it but when the scientist went deeper into his muscle Dorian let out a scream in pain. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH" he screamed the scientist stopping for a moment to soak in the mutants pain. The scientist then picked up the laser to seal off the open flesh and prevent him from bleeding. Then proceeded to pick up the saw. *zip zip* the scientist pulled the trigger to the saw twice to make sure it worked to his liking. Placing the blade of the saw next to Dorian's bone and pausing for a moment then sawing threw Dorian's arm. Blood splattered and the sound of the bone against the saw filled the room "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Dorian screamed in agony as the scientist silently laughed to himself. The scientist finished sealing off Dorian's wound and had a nurse come in and sanitize the wound and wrap it. "Give him a pain pill to sleep he was a great patient." the evil scientist said to the nurse before leaving the room. Guards soon came in and unstrapped him from the table and dragged him to the gathering room throwing him onto the floor before closing the doors. Dorian passed out his face on the cold gathering room floor.

The creature peered down at the little girl and awkwardly patted her shoulder (trying his best not to cut her) before shaking hands with the young man. His jaw still hung open so that he could speak, and his tail whisked against the ground. It took him a moment to register that the girl was talking about the infected sores around the nails seemingly hammered through his body, but he shook his head. He'd had them as long as he could remember. Besides, the occasional pus weeping from one added to the 'scary' appearance of him. His skin was devoid of hair and was mottled grey and a disgusting unhealthy shade of pink. Veins ran criss-cross close to the surface and the tendons on his human feet stood out, making them look withered and scrawny. Where the nails poked through, it was an angrier red with odd patches of yellow where pus collected under the surface.

"I'm sure I've seen scarier," he said with a barking laugh, going to coil back on his chair again. "They call myself and my host 51. My host is known as Hieronymus to others, and my name is Mephistopheles. It's not my true name, I don't think, but I read it in a book and it seemed good enough."

-Lack-

After the ruckus had died down, Lack went to clean his ear off, sick of the thudding in his head from the pain. He was sick of everything all over, really, and was in an utterly foul mood. Harangued and plagued half to death by screaming mutants dragged down hallways by idiot guards, he managed to find an empty medical room to fix himself up in. His chewed-up ear had never looked good in the first place, but now it was just the lobe and tragus peering awkwardly into the world. Muttering to himself and scowling, he carefully cleaned the dried blood off. The wound had sealed but looked awful and Lack fought the urge to grab a scalpel and cut the rest off just to be done with it. He'd have to build a custom 'ear' and see if any of his co-workers would be able to fit it. The operation was relatively complicated but commonplace for biomechanical surgeons. Lack wasn't sure if he trusted any of the people here to drill into his head, though.

Head resting in his mechanical hand, he yanked his notepad and pen from his bag and began making a list. The man's handwriting was an atrocious scrawl, but it seemed as if he could read it. Each punctuation mark, each dot on every 'i' or 'j' was stabbed into the paper with vehemence as he sorted what he'd write about in his letter. He had listed most everything, but wasn't sure if it was all. Maybe Lazarus would know - he'd been working here longer than Lack, after all. Still scowling, he stood up and searched for the man. Knocking on the security room door, he poked his head around to see if he was there.

At that moment the guards released Dorian into the mutant gathering area him falling to the cold floor and passing out from the pain. Elizabeth looked up with the sound of the door opening and a smile came across her face when she saw her brother but that smile soon faded when she saw him collapse to the floor. Elizabeth rushed over to her brother. "Nii-chan!" she yelled running across the wide room the book against her chest and her hair flowing behind her. When she got to his side tears ran down her face as she saw that his hand was missing. "Nii-chan..." she whispered crying. She set the book down next to her side and held his bloody arm in her lap. She reached up and bit her finger wincing at the pain and letting her blood flow. She then made her blood surround his stump and absorb into his flesh. Elizabeth focused and meditated slowly his stump became longer as his arm started to reform. Elizabeth started to breath heavier as her brother's arm started to take it's original form. Elizabeth was obviously exhausted as sweat rolled down her face but she couldn't stop she had to give her brother back his hand so he could write once more. Soon it was hard for Elizabeth to sit up but she did anyway pushing threw the pain it caused her to give her brother back what was his. Like magic Dorian's fingers appeared all five of them in their proper places. As soon as Dorian's hand was complete Elizabeth passed out falling over on her side the book at her feet. Elizabeth still breathed heavily and tears still flowed from her eyes. Dorian twitched his hand and made a fist felling his fingers touch his palm. Dorian slowly opened his eyes to his sister laying on the floor breathing heavily and sweat and tears sliding down her face. Dorian felt her forehead with his new hand and then realized what she had done for him. Dorian picked up his book and placed it in her arms as he picked her up in his and walked to a table. He laid her down on the bench and set her head in his lap. He looked around the room for some cool water to tame her fever.

"No thank you. They've been like that as long as I remember," Meph said to the little girl, not used to communicating with people so very young. He wasn't sure if he'd get into trouble if he did heal them up anyway because that was how they had always been and he assumed that'd annoy certain powerful demons if they were fixed. He really didn't need those on his ass. His lazy half-existance was fine as it was. He curled further into his seat, sighing and listening to the woman, Sheelin. Corrupted by wrath, it seemed. Boring boring boring. The demon enjoyed playing with more insidious sins; sloth, pride and lust in particular.

"But you are humans," he pointed out. "Just ones with powers and sometimes wonky genes."

He wound his arms around his knees, the trinkets on his bizarre clothes clicking as he shifted.

"I borrow a human's body, but that doesn't make Hieronymus a demon. In answer to your question, yes. When necessary. I'm not a vengeful demon who wants to lay waste to mankind. My mission is corruption. Hieronymus has never killed. I doubt he could even at a push. You should channel your anger into something productive, or you'll end up like my poor host body. All bitter and twisted with no mind of your own, simply spitting and lashing out at people. Or maybe you're already like that, uhuhuh."

As he was a demon, the beast enjoyed thinking about morals. He wasn't resentful of being pinned to this body in the name of science; rather, he used it as a tool for learning. Before now, he'd had little contact with humans of any sort, normal or mutated.

Subject 99 finally calmed down and began to think 'instead of desperately searching for them he began to search for breathing speed and pace which would eventually lead to him finding Dorian or Elizabeth' Subject then traced a panting breath and a quickening pace of breath from Elizabeth and knew something was wrong he then ran in the direction which he traced it to only to find Dorian placing Elizabeth's head in his lap. Subject 99 sighed in relief to see that Dorian was alive and not injured by the looks of it, except a large amount of blood which stained his right wrist. Subject 99 then pushed through the crowd surrounding Dorian and Elizabeth and asked "is she okay?". Subject 99 gave a quick worried expression knowing that it was needed at this moment.

Subject 99 closed in on the girl seeing if it was a regular fever or one that is directly related to her powers. Subject 99 put his hand to Elizabeth's forehead and push a burst of air into her lungs seeing if it was blocked the air was blocked off by a current of fluid. He brought the air out of her lungs only to see that some fluid had been blown out with the air he then saw that the fluid was blood "Shit!" Subject 99 knew that her power was reacting badly with his powers "Dorian put a drop of your blood down her throat NOW!" that was the only way to counteract the power rejection, "Dorian do it she is rejecting my power only a drop of blood from someone her power is familiar with will stop the rejection!". Subject 99 then used his power to search for guards and Doctors in particular "a blood user is in trouble please come!". Since this was not a regular fever and the blood inside her was burning he brought air down through the vent and gathered the cold air from the ac and brought it down into the Mutant gathering area.

Dorian stood staring coldly at the spectators then listened to the child's wise words. The blood started to turn into a liquid and flow back inside his body. His eyes turned back to it's sparkling blue. Dorian turned his back to them and faced his sister. He felt useless he picked her up in his arms and headed for the door. No human was going to come to their aid so he would bring her to them. He didn't care what punishment awaited him as long as his sister was safe.

Dorian walked in front of the new girl with the black wings. He stood tall with his sister in his arms. She was sick and needed help he was going to escape to the infirmary even if it cost him his life he would get her there. "You! On the floor!" he called down to her. "That key pad above your head...I need you to type in a code for me." he said trying to be nice to the new girl but his patients was growing thinner the weaker his sister became.

Dorian stood in shock for a moment at the fact that she refused to help him save his sister once more the mutants had turned against each other. Dorian's eyes filled with tears as his father's dreams where shattered once more in front of his eyes. Dorian was loosing hope. He took a deep breath and gently laid his sister on the ground propped up against the wall. As Elizabeth laid up against the wall she moaned in pain of the fever much like children do when they have a nightmare. He himself typed in the code completely ignoring the girl. Dorian's fire had gone out his spirit crushed. All he wanted to do was hold his sister in his arms and die. But his body kept going somewhere deep within him he still cared enough for his sister to keep going. The door slid open and Dorian reached down to pick up his sister and walk threw the door way.
