Insanity could be the key to bring everything down.

a character in “Subject 11”, originally authored by Fredalice, as played by Steffix

Description

Name: Subject 84
Nickname: Ria
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Born: Full Born
room: 04 on floor 3
Kind/Race: Linked-[Demon]
http://digital-art-gallery.com/picture/1253

Power: Teleportation
Power description: can teleport anywhere in an explosion of black smoke, but has to see where she's going in her mind's eye or she'll end up in a wall or someplace
Partner: Subject 89
Weakness: Fire because the smoke from her teleporting is flamable
Strong points: Strong against those who are Chained because she can be very very persuasive, especially when the demon comes out, she can persuade people into doing almost anything, especially breaking a promise.

Personality: She is very jocose (sorry learned a new word had to use it!) and mischief. She loves causing mayhem, though does try to not hurt others too bad. She is strong willed and the only one who can keep the demon in her under control. She is sly and has a way with words, able to persuade the most stubborn of people, this also enables her to easily confuse others which she loves to do. She has a silver tongue. She also is very creative and loves to paint. She's resourceful and perceptive, able to spot the tiniest details in things. Think of her like a pixie or leprechaun, though she loves mischief, she isn't necessarily bad and all she really want is to make others smile in this hell hole. Her mind is also slowly going insane and the more insane she gets the more persuasive she gets and the more mischievous. To her partner she acts like the big sister, protecting her as much as she can, and just being their for her to comfort and make her laugh. She calls Subject 89 nicknames such as, Sweety, Darling, and the most common, Alice (for Alice in Wonderland).
Fears: Fire

Background story: When she was younger she grew up on a farm with her family, the demon didn't show up till she was 7. Her parents didn't talk about it much and just told her she had Multiple Personality Disorder, but when she was 13 she discovered the truth because she was kidnapped while walking home along a dirt road and was taken to this facility and the experiments started right off the bat. Then she started hearing this voice in her head one that would coax her begging her to let it out. She was experimenting herself a little and she found whenever she listened to the voice and let it out, things happened, bad things, like people ending up and dead. When the people experimenting on her found this out they chained her up even more and learned how to control the voice. Her experiments after that consisted of mostly burning and fire (which only makes her insanity more powerful from the pain and fear). And at some point she began to trust it, not in the common sense of the word, but trust that she would end up okay when the voice was let out, trust that she would be protected, trust that everyone else would die.

Other: When Leonor is released it takes a little while before she turns into what she actually looks like, first her expression changes and it does seem more like Multiple Personality Disorder, then from her heart her skin changes color and her eyes turn yellow, her teeth and nails elongate, and she receives her tail which just kind of shows up. When this happens you can assume you'll be dead very soon.

Theme song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12dBCgAo-RA&ob=av2e

Demon name: Leonor
Demon appearance: Similar to Ria's though her skin turn black, her eyes yellow, she grows one inch claw on her hands and feet, all her teeth grow sharp and fang-like, and she grows a tail that's stereotypically like the Devil's.
Demon power description: Same as her usual power, teleportation in an explosion of black smoke. Leonor is completely violent, wanting no excuse to kill and is more partial to the mischief that scares people instead of making them laugh. She wants out all the time, of course, but is more patient on an everyday basis, but when Ria is in trouble or danger she has no patience at all and will force her way out. Leonor, for more the reason of that if Subject 89 dies so does she, is also very protective of her partner, though she won't admit it, there is some sisterly love in her too.

So begins...

Subject 84 sat against the wall, with her legs on the wall and her back on the floor. She watch the fight upside down, which was entertaining to say the least, not the fight, but the upside down aspect made everything most interesting; for a little bit. She sighed when the two mutants got pulled away back to being bored.

Let me out, a voice said, it was Leonor.

No, I'm not in any danger so you can just relax, Ria answered back.

Fine, it was that indigent voice that always got on Ria's nerves, but she ignored it and went back to looking around. Then something caught her eye, bright red. It was a little boy holding his wrist as it bled, Leonor's interest got spiked, and though Ria was trying to control there was a spark of interest in her as well. She go up from her spot, doing a backwards tumble into a standing position, and walked over to the boy.

"You okay kid?" she asked. The boy didn't answer, but instead just sniffled. She nodded tearing a strip of the bottom of her shirt off and began wrapping it around the boy wrist. "Those guards are horrible aren't they?" she asked, trying to cheer the boy up, "You know one time I overheard one of them talking and found out that apparently one time when escorting one of us to an experiment room they got shoved into the elevator just as the doors were closing, trapping him in. And when he got free the mutant grabbed him tossing him in the air and he landed on his butt," she made a face of what the guard's looked like. The little boy laughed.

"This can't be true, no guard would be that stupid," the boy said.

"Oh no this is a true story, my friend was the mutant," she said. The little boy crossed his arms and gave her a "Are you for real?" look, she sighed placing her right hand over her heart and her left in the air, "I solemnly swear..."

We are up to no good, Leonor finished in Ria's head. The boy laughed some more, making Ria smile with him.

Gabe walked to an experiment room pushing his cart full of cleaning supplies. He found Dr. Mayu inside. He pushed his cart inside, silently.

"Where's the mess?" he asked, already seeing some blood on the beds. It made him sick to see the after math of what he knew was nothing, but torture, no matter how these people rationalized what they were doing. Memories of how he was tortured in prison came back to him, and with a lump in his throat he suppressed them back down to nothing, no thinking at all.

Subject 84 looked to the newest comer, she had briefly heard a conversation with him in it. Ria walked over to the door.

"Yeah you better run you pansies!!" She screamed at the door punching it with her fist, her wrist band sending out a spark making her jump slightly. After the experiments they found that the smoke she teleported in was flamable, so they melded on this infernal wrist band to her wrist which would spark with sudden strong vibrations. She sighed and bent down extending her hand to the poor guy.

"Your names Speedy yeah?" she asked, "Need a hand?"

Oh, look who's being nice, Leonor said.

Well excuse me Miss Kill Everybody, Ria thought back.

Why are you anyways? You don't know him

Because all us mutants need to stick together if we're ever going to have hope at getting out of here

An evil laugh echoed through Ria's head, one that sounded like those insane people at the happy farms, I see what you're trying to do here

What? Do what?

Use people, I approve. At this Ria outwardly groaned, it was never a good thing when Leonor approved of something you were doing. She tried to ignore Leonore from then on and pay attention to the mutant in front of her.

"Friends call me Ria, and if you see my expression suddenly change that would Leonor, my demon," she answered, "as for shackle on my wrist it keeps me from teleporting the Hell out of here," she sighed leaning wall beside him, thinking of all the times she tried to do that and all the burn marks she got from the attempts.

"So Speedster, how would you kill the guards if you could?" she asked giving him an innocent smile. This was a popular question for her as most of the mutants had already thought about it and were just a little shy openly voicing it, plus it played with their fantasies at least releasing their minds from here. The other question if this one was too gruesome for others is, 'What would you do if you got out of here right now?' This was a game both Leonor and Ria loved to play, though they had different rules to the game and different motives. Ria only stayed the mutant's fantasies, trying to get them to smile and relax a little, Leonor would go off with peoples' desires and addictions, trying to break them and see their pain as they wallow in the realization of what they just did.

Ria smiled at Amy as she came and went, "I wish the others were more like her," she said to herself. She shook her head clearing it of any rose-colored thoughts. "Anyways, just an observation Speedster, you should smile more often, it's not a sore sight. And don't sweat it about the whole killing thing, it's just a topic starter I've found often time works. I guess the better question would be, what do you imagine life outside of here? You've got to have put some thought into that, Hell even Leonor has thought about that," she smiled deviously.

Hey, what's wrong with my fantasies?! Leonor screamed in Ria's head.

Nothing, nothing, just pointing out that you're not as different as you like to think, Ria said, making her smile grow a little bigger, she always loved it when she could finally hold something over Leonor's head and tease her.

Ria's hand flew to her ears when the alarm went off, she never really liked loud noise, not being able to concentrate at all with them on. Then the gaurds started to run in, anger flashed through her as she saw them and her eyes flahsed from their normal brown to yellow as she attempted to control Leonor's urge, and persistant yammering about how this was dangerous and she should take over. But then when the infamous Subject 11 came in, it seemed as though everything went quiet, Ria relaxed and almost in a daze walked forward. A guards saw this and slammed her back into the wall making her head smack against the wall, he kept her pined by her shoulder putting enough pressure on it to make it snap. Through this pain she didn't hear what Subject 11 said and then she was gone, the guard releasing her and running out with the rest. She sighed in relief, clutching her shoulder and sliding down the wall into a sitting position.

I told you that was dangerous! You should've let me take over! You're an idoit!!, Leonor screamed at Ria.

I'm fine, just a bruise. Nothing was going to happen there's too many of us in here, Ria answered back a little wearily.

You didn't know that and by the time I would gain control we would probably already be dead

Well we're still both alive, so you can just shut up

Next time Ria, I'm not asking permission

Ria shakily got to her feet again, still clutching her shoulder, though she wanted to make sure her head was okay too after the guard had slammed it into the wall. She turned towards the others that were around her.

"What did she say? I must have missed it," Ria asked them.

I don't suppose you heard what Subject 11 said either? Ria asked Leonor.

A scoff sounded through her head, Please we share the same body, I was just as distracted with the pain as you were!

That's what I thought. She looked around and saw Subject 20 leave, she had more than half a mind to go after her, but she figured if she was leaving that large group behind she wanted to be alone. The urge to follow was extremely strong especially when you have a demon inside you that's as persuasive as the Devil, but being born with a silver tongue herself Ria knew a few tricks that would let her resist urges like this.

Next time I promise we'll follow, but just for now let them think their secrets are safe

Ahhhh, you make a good point. Well, my dear Ria, I think you're learning the ways of a demon quite nicely. Ria rolled her eyes internally, but a small smirk that tugged at her lips contradicted the previous action. Leonor gleefully laughed, pleased at what Ria was slowly turning into.

Ria looked at Subject 45 when she heard her whisper something.

"Well I didn't catch anything that just happened, but I would guess in some ways she does. Like the same way that I trust Leonor," Ria said. Which was true, to an extent, she did trust Leonor. She trusted that Leonor would always protect her and that someone would always die.

"So did you just get back from experimenting then?" she asked.
___

Gabe walked down the hall quietly, pushing his cleaning supplies cart. He ignored the the siren as it sounded, his only reaction was to put earplugs in and continue. The one thing he liked about his job was that he didn't have to dress up in ridiculous monkey suits, he could wear worn jean, a dirty T-shirt, and a tan leather jacket, this was the only thing he liked about his job everything else he hated, he hated having to see kids get tortured worse than he did when he was in jail and having to clean the mess of their blood up afterwards.

He sighed, reaching for the earplugs when he heard knocking. He turned to the nearest door where the sound had come from. There were two new indentations in the door, as if whoever knocked was incredibly strong and this was them trying not to bring down the house.

Gabe walked over to the door, opening a small hatch way to see who the mutant. It was Subject 55, Gabe wasn't sure how to communicate with him because he heard rumors that he couldn't really speak. But he was going to try anyways.

"You okay in there?" Gabe asked putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans and leaning against the wall next to Subject 55's door.

Ria looked up worriedly at little Alice as she attempted running to her. She caught her little sister in her arm, pulling her into a hug and kissing the top of her head.

"Are you okay Alice?" she asked, sitting down and pulling Alice into her lap. She stared at the guards murderously, her eyes flicking from bright yellow to stone cold brown like a strobe light, and Leonor growling menacingly in her head.

Soon they won't lay another hand on Alice!, Ria and Leonor thought at the same time, bring their attention back to little Darling.
___

Gabe looked back through the hatch at Subject 55, hearing his protests when this newest sirens started. He wasn't completely sure what he was trying to get at, but he figured it had something to do with the siren.

"I'm sure they'll be over soon, you just have to be strong!" Gabe yelled to the mutant, "Is there anything I can do to help?!"

Ria held her dear sister closer.

"I hate it when they do this to you," she whispered, "I only wish to put them through the pain they put you in."

And stick it to them good! Leonor yelled.

Make their hearts bleed! Ria answered back.

Have them go through Hell!

Let them wish they had never been born!

And let them never see the light of day again!!
___

Gabe stood shell-shocked watching as the mutant tried to put the door back on. It was odd, most mutants would've taken that chance to run, maybe even kill him. But this mutant looked to be trying to stay in. Then a bat suddenly flew above him and into the room and turned into a girl. She mentioned the lights being a problem.

"Well I'm not a electrician, but I'll try," he said. He looked around the hall to find a door that held supplies, in there he picked out a few florescent tubes and walked back to the room holding the tubes carefully in one arm while carrying a ladder in his other hand. He set up the chair and began work on the lights, though he felt completely out of his element and not really sure if he was doing it right.

Ria looked to the door wondering the same thing. The alarms did seem to be going haywire a lot today, she had a feeling, or rather Leonor was yapping in her head, that this new alarm had to do with Subject 11. Of course this was a huge leap because there were no windows and no one ever said anything, but it was just their chaotic mind trying to make connections.

What should we do? Ria asked Leonor.

Who says that we have to do anything? Leonor snapped back.

Aren't you the least bit curious as to what's really going one?

Of course...

Then we should try and figure it out

You make a compelling argument, but I still don't think...

I'll let you out, at this Leonor was silent for a bit, too excited at the possibility of being let out to even "say" anything.

Let's do it, Leonor's voice rang with a determined excitement.

Ria gently pulled Alice off her lap and whispered to her, "Stay out of the way and be careful," then before she could finish her sentence her expression changed, her smile became dangerous and her eyes showing a slyness about them before quickly blinking to neon-yellow, "I'm going to figure all this out," her voice now filled with a confidence that scared people and was a little more husky than normal. She stood up and walked to the door knocking on it twice, but instead of waiting for someone to answer she turned to the nearest mutant and punched them in the gut.

Leonor smiled wider, her skin slowly changing to black, and pulled the mutant kid back for another round of punching. All the while the black color inching till it covered her body completely, her nails (toenails included) turning to sharp claws, her teeth elongating and turning to fangs, and tail appearing out of nowhere it seemed. Her posture is more animal like than Ria's, she crouches leaning forward her arms bent and ready for to attack, and her tail swishing dangerously.

Naturally the mutant fought back, with more strength than Leonor, but she was more agile and more flexible, she's like a cat/monkey mix, jumping, ducking, and using the others' weight against him. Leonor's fighting style could be described as more of a dance than actual fighting she rarely ever made a blow herself, though when she did she struck with her claws and teeth causing the other to cry out in pain. It was while before the guards came in, at first on two, both mutants breathing heavily, though Leonor looked as though she rather enjoyed it. One guard went to the other mutant, leaving only a few seconds for Leonor with her own before more came in.

She rounded on the guard, slamming him against the wall, her tail wrapping around the man's ankle, "Why must you guards always take your time?" she said, hissing more than speaking, "What's going on out there?"

The guard laughed, "Why should I tell you?"

Leonor slammed her clawed hand into the man's chest, hard but not hard enough to take his heart out which she would've normally done, "I'll not ask again". But before the man answered, sharp electric volts attacked her back. Leonor fell to the ground, the tazer still connected to her. The back-up guards picked Leonor up and pulled her outside after shackling her arms behind her back. Leonor was blacked out the entire time till they came to floor 2, that's when a bunch of yelling could be heard on the floor below.

"Careful she's waking up," a guard said pointing his gun at her head. Leonor looked at the barrel and smiled.

"That's very thoughtful of you, thank you," she said, "Unfortunately for you, I'm going to have to return your gift for I have far too many." She dropped all her weight so when the gun fired it just barely missed, hitting the floor behind her. She swung her legs in a circle around her tripping the two guards that were holding her and quickly kicked the barrel of the gun up at the ceiling as it once more shot. She jumped up, strategically placing her legs between her arms so that her arms were now properly in front of her and took the gun from one of the guards that were down and shot the one still standing in the head.

Leonor smiled, "Oh good the gift return didn't get declined." She back flipped over the two guards that were trying to stand back up, knocked one in the head with the butt of the gun knocking him out instantly and dropped the gun snapping the neck of the other. She looked at her handy work and wiped her hands together.

Our bodyguards are taken care of Ria, ready to see what the alarms are about? she thought taking the some keys of one of the guards belt and unlocking her restraints. Without waiting for an answer, Leonor jumped up grabbing a beam from the ceiling and swung into the elevator like a trapeze artist and hitting the up arrow. The elevator doors closed and Leonor stood with her arms crossed pretending to be listening to elevator music. When the doors opened chaos erupted in her face, she smiled and tried to contain the "WOOHOO!!" that was building in her.

Looks like we found the problem, she looked around with the smile of a proud mother on her face, I think we should help them. And with that she jumped up grabbing the edge of the elevator frame and flipping up so that she was crouched with her feet on the wall above the elevator door, she found a target and launched herself at him, claws extended for his face.

Leonor continued to fight, slashing at throats with her claws, though things were moving so fast she injured more than actually killed, then she stopped. She suddenly got the feeling that guns were pointed at her, but when she looked around there weren't any, well a few, but not as much as she felt.

It's Alice!! Ria screamed in her head, We have to go back up there and save her. Leonor was then suddenly slammed into the wall behind her as she was yet again hit with a tazer, but this time she quickly pulled the cords out only suffering extreme exhaustion instead of being knocked out. She let out a low growl, baring her fangs at the guy.

Ignore him and go up to save Alice, Ria commanded.

She can wait, this guy needs to be taught a lesson, Leonor thought back.

If you don't save Alice we'll both be dead. Groaning internally at Ria being right, Leonor got up, her tail wrapping around the guy's ankle and yanked, causing him to fall.

"Consider yourself the luckiest person alive!" she called to the guard as the elevator doors shut. Inside the elevator headed back up to Floor 6, the elevator music playing too chipper, at least inside their head.

Screw this I'm teleporting, this is taking too long

What?! You can't do that!! If you do that we'll burn alive!!!. Leonor looked at her wrist with disdain as she saw the contraption. In anger she started whacking her wrist against the side of the elevator attempting to get it off, but only succeeding in her wrist getting bruised. The elevator dinged as they hit Floor 6, the elevator doors opening to the scene, a very unhappy Leonor could be seen inside.

"They're going to die," Leonor decided, her face in a snarl rather than her usual sadistic smile. She launched herself out of the elevator, quietly climbing up the wall and onto the ceiling, from their she crawled her way to a guard that was mostly robotic and dropped in front of him so that his gun was pointed, almost touching, her head instead.

"And what do you think you're doing?" she asked cocking an eyebrow, her tail swishing harshly behind her.

Apparently, Lack's attempts at communication had little to no effect on the female, who just continued with her string of gibberish in an apparently faster pace. Lazarus was tense, and presumably the rest of the guards were so, but if they dared move an inch, the cyborg's right fake eye would nearly glare holes on their heads. Truthfully, his stress was because of them, and not quite because of the mutant girl talking nonsense.

Not far from behind him came a cracking sound of a radio belonging to one of the guards. Lazarus looked at the man from the corner of his eye, clenching his jaw to avoid barking at him to turn that cursed thing off. The request that he made out of the radio's hiss was curious, though. A senior guard? The hell for?
Chaos was just stalking everyone in every corner, but Lazarus stayed put. Surely a security officer would've caught that, wouldn't they? He himself didn't carry a radio with him, and he had no idea if any of the others would be paying enough attention to the eventual transmissions as to attend them, but as he took in a sharp intake of breath to send one of the basics to the second floor, the elevator's doors opened to reveal that Subject 84 was inside. And the other guards? Probably dead.

He followed the mutant with his eyes as she climbed through the ceilings and dropped right in front of his arm. Ah, geez, how spectacular.
Without taking his gaze off of the girl, he lightly turned his head towards the officer behind him.
"Go to the second floor," The Elite hissed through gritted teeth, lowering his arm and, therefore, the now gun-shaped forearm that now acted as his weapon. He scanned the rest of the guards, nervous and impatient to do something about the two mutant girls ahead of Lack and himself. With a growl-like exhale, he gestured towards them. "And take those goons with you. Our rookie may need them more than I do."

Of course, the officer seemed dumbfounded by the request, and right at the bridge of protesting against Lazarus' order, but it was hard to go directly against the command of a superior they were trained to follow, and one as imposing and hard-headed as Lazarus wouldn't even listen to what they had to say.
The officer made a mute gesture at the men, and one by one they very cautiously retreated to the elevator, staying as far from both of the mutants as possible, murmuring quietly between themselves until the metallic door closed.

He turned back to the females in silence and scrutinized them closely. Yes, he had lowered his weapon, and so had the doctor, but he would not shift his mechanical limb back until he considered necessary to show a -not friendly- but at least a much less defensive position against them.
Lazarus' left arm, which had still remained in front of the scientist, fell only slightly. He felt much less upset now that the other officers were out of the way, but that did not mean that he'd stopped being wary of both of the mutants. But it was logical. The lack of hostility reflected towards them should calm them down to some extent. The least he wanted for now was an unnecessary confrontation, even though he'd possibly get in trouble for this.
Not that he cared much. MUH had lost so many soldiers that they couldn't afford to fire one of the well-trained staff, it wouldn't be sensical.

And Doctor Lack? The man had so far spilled everything BUT hostility. The cyborg merely pulled his weapon behind his back and held it with his other hand, perking himself just like the soldier he was and standing still like a statue but never letting down his guard. After all, he still didn't know the mutants well enough to predict their reactions.

Leonor stepped back a little as the guards left, confused as to why this guy was sending his back-up away, making him more vulnerable. If Ria was in charge she would see this as a white flag kind of moment, but Leonor knew how cocky people could get, so all this act did was send up a red flag for her. Her eyes squinted and she crouched, her claws at the ready, she was trying to hide it, but the side-effects from the tazer still kept her weak, her muscles shaking.

"I won't ask you again, what the HELL do you think you're doing?!" Leonor shouted.

All this activity was really putting Lack on edge. Now this girl was yelling at them, and she seemed like some demonic creature. He shuddered, hoping she couldn't get big enough to rip him to shreds. He'd likely have a nervous breakdown by the end of the month if he kept getting near attacked. Either that, or shoot someone in the head. He glanced down to his gun - the safety was off and it was loaded, good. Taking a steady breath, he tried to calm himself down so he wouldn't stammer as much. He was still close to Lazarus and really wished he had a proper gun for fighting these guys if it got that far, and it looked like it would. The way Lazarus sent away the other guards didn't exactly reassure him, either.

"H-hello. We were trying to, um... f-f-figure what was up wi-with Subject 89. Bef-fore she, you know, fuckin' k-killed one of us, ahahaha."

The laughter was certainly nervous, and the swearing didn't come over as hostile, more as desperate. The damn letter would be an arm long. If he got out alive. He wanted out right now. He was sick of seeing people dying because all these teenagers decided to have a simoultaneous shitfit. He stared at this new girl with his regular and mechanical eyes. Lack had smiled and waved to her earlier. He'd tried to help the younger girl (admittedly to save his own skin, but the thought still counted, right?). Damned if Dr. Rainer T. Lack going to let himself die because some kid didn't seem to get ambiguous or neutral positions in fights, or because this new company he worked for didn't get how to secure the building properly. That, at least, made him feel a bit more confident. His shaky stare turned into its more usual solid glower and he squared his jaw.

"And I-I'd be pleased if you didn't yell at us."

Leonor put one arm around Alice's shoulder, in a half-hearted sort of hug, which was about the only kind she gave.

"I thought we told you to stay out harm," Leonor scolded in a whisper. She turned her cold yellow eyes back to the the two men in front of them, "Sorry, it's just in this place it seems like yelling is the only way to get anybody to answer," she said in a obviously non-apologetic tone.

"So I guess I'll ask more quietly then," she said, "There's chaos downstairs, why?" she said the word 'chaos' with with a slight smirk on her face. To be truthfully honest she wanted to go back down and have some fun, maybe even escape, but with Alice and Ria being so close that would never happen.

And if you want to know why it would never happen it's because it's way too dangerous, Ria snapped in their head.

Well to escape this place some lives will be lost, Leonor retorted, It's the risk of escaping, there's danger EVERYWHERE in this place anyways, why should escaping be any different?

It was evident from the Elite's visible features that the mutant was increasingly upsetting him, and Lack's nervousness, ineffective as it was, only contributed to the large man's anxiousness. His cold, metallic fingers tapped upon his forearm's plates in a weak attempt to occupy himself away from snapping at the teenager and presumably make the situation worse than it was.
He sure hoped the doctor was enjoying his first taste of their irritably proud and condescending attitude. Moreover, the transformation from the youngest girl irked him further, as it just underlined the already discriminative behavior so present in them.

With each word, though, Lazarus found it harder to restrain his tongue. His piercing eyes glowered solely at the oldest of the two and his hand balled into a fist behind his back as the wrinkles between his brows accentuated.

Subject 84 had been so far sheltered under the kind roof of his patience, but the soldier did not tolerate disrespect, yelling and shouting. And thus that roof was slowly beginning to crumble on top of her. Although he wouldn't physically assault her, he'd most certainly snap at her, and the grave thundering voice the simulator on his throat gave him startled people who didn't hang around and talked to the man very often, which would be satisfying enough.

Even so, when the girl calmed her tone, it didn't quite help her situation. She still seemed to be demanding, and to her first notion, Lazarus couldn't help himself any longer.
"If your yelling is the equivalent of murdering," interrupted the guard, harshly. "I'm unsure as to what answers you expect from a carcass. Usually, politeness seems to work better. A language foreign to you, evidently."

His retort was crude and spoken sharply, without wincing or recoiling. He was annoyed, and he didn't need or found any reason in hiding it. The recklessness from the subject was far beyond what he was willing to put up with, but if his position wasn't expressive enough of her failure at intimidating him, he wouldn't mind confirming it again; just for good measure.

"Oh come now, there's no need to get snappish," Leonor said, seeing the guard's patience for her attitude to crumble, "It was just a question, and I did ask without yelling." She cocked her head as if she were showing she was innocent of any crime.

I wouldn't push this guy too far Leonor, Ria said as the two saw his body-language seem to tighten.

Oh, come on where's the fun in not? Leonor said placing one hand on her hip, her body relaxing as the guard's tensed. One thing Leonor loved was pushing people's button, they always got so dramatic and defensive, it amused her deeply. Ria rolled her eyes in their head and lost interest, not wanting to watch. Though Leonor knew that Ria would be paying close attention from here on out.

Listen if I feel like Alice is in any danger I'll push her out of the way

So you're not going to stop I'm guessing?

Leonor smiled still acting like nothing she was doing was wrong, Nope.

"Besides, I didn't ask you, I was asking the...scientist, and you're interrupting out conversation," Leonor said to the guard.

-Lack-

Lack's clammy skin and flesh fingers clasped his new found gun, the mechanics in his left arm staying tense and ready to aim and fire. Despite how the girl had calmed down, both of them, he was still wary and could tell he'd still have trouble with his stutter if he tried to carry on talking with them. The way 84 'apologised' and spoke to him annoyed him more than anything - he was new, how was he meant to know anything about this? More than that, he'd be willing to listen and try and sort things out for these mutants! For a second, he decided maybe to step into the role of the angry monster scientist if everyone was so ready to believe that, but with his nobler reason, he deemed it childish.

"H-ho-how am I meant to know that? I'm new here! W-was I yelling? No. You're being a uh, a uh, a brat," he stammered. "Y-you know, I got chew... chewed up by someone like you, bu-but I don't yell and kill and m-maim everyone!"

He didn't raise his voice very much, and seemed more upset than angry. He was irate, yes, but more offended. Guilt about his job was swimming in his head as it used to when he was younger and first started. 'This job'll be great for you,' they said. 'Plenty of opportunity, great workmates, compliant subjects,' they said. Well isn't that a great big pile of bullshit if I ever heard one he thought bitterly, still glaring away. Of course, he could only glare with one eye and so it came out wonky and slightly comical.

"Ch-chaos? Chaos? P-p-people are dying! I-its a b-bit more than just cha-chaos! And I d-d-don't damn kn-know, I'm a fucking newbie here!"

-51-

There was a terrible wail and sob from down the hall where Mitch currently was. Two guards were dragging a skinny middle-aged man who was curling up on himself and flailing weakly down a hall. Seemed like 51 had gotten out and gone for a wander in the hectic struggle. Poor 51 wasn't all that dangerous, and spent most of his time screaming at other people about how they'd end in hell. The man cried out and screamed something uncomprehensible, completely going limp rather than struggling. He curled in a ball and covered his head, whimpering pathetically.

"Don't touch me!" he screeched when the guards went to grab him again.

Before they could take his arms by force and drag him along, he wriggled into a corner and cried hopelessly, shaking his head over and over.

"Normally, a shout and a yell are the exact same thing excepting the wording, commonly called a synonym," snorted the cyborg with a heavily sardonic smirk as his tongue rolled over his teeth behind the gas mask. "But I'm glad you're an expert in avoiding the point in my query. Conversation! Don't make me laugh."

Of course, Lazarus' remarks couldn't get any more sarcastic and bitter. He snickered, rather than mocked, and tried to maintain his lips in a straight serious line without much success. He was aggravated, and with nothing to punch but an internal, imaginary manikin, his rage was beginning to make a knot in his damaged gut, and the guard was more than sure that he'd start spitting bile any time soon.

Lack's presence was really the only thing keeping him in line at the moment, and the doctor seemed to be just as irritated as he. And with good reason! He had tried to show a friendly intent earlier, and the mongrel's attitude here was like spitting directly on a helper's hand. And they wondered why they were treated the way they did! They cried for injustice, the hypocrites! Did they not look at themselves on the mirror?
Of course not. In their mind, everybody was at fault for their own wrongdoings.

Lazarus couldn't have been more grateful that his treatment with these sorts of people was minimum. He preferred his gloating co-workers, boasting about how good their aim was, than the level of absolute degradation he received from mere adolescents; children who didn't know anything better in life than to try and constantly challenge the authority. Add mutations to that and the outcome was next to catastrophic; children who think themselves to be indestructible and holy and mighty only due to some crappy radioactive modification, and believed themselves to be over everyone.

He had never considered being thankful for his lack of a lower body; right now, however, he found himself constantly doing this. He only wished that all of the scientists would've experienced the 'magic' and 'beauty' of having a hormonally-unstable teenage son or daughter before using them for their idiotic overpowering experiments. Maybe then the constant killings would've been avoided by a good ninety percent.

Leonor I think you should stop, this is going to get us nowhere, Ria said, getting annoyed.

Just give it some time, Leonor smiled.

Listen I thought you could help, but you just making things worse, for us and Alice!

"Okay, back off!!" Leonor shouted out loud, though she didn't care.

No, you've had enough fun for today!! I want back out!

"Doubt it, you're the one that let me free. Think I'm going to give it up that easily?!"

Do you actually think I'm giving you a choice?

"Do you think I'm giving you a choice?"

Listen this is my body and I'm the one in control!

"Oh really, then how come I can do this?!" Leonor shouted punching the wall, pain streaked up their arm, "See if you didn't want that to happen, why didn't you stop it?! So tell me who's in control!!"

Oh that's it, you're done!!! Then Leonor keeled over, clutching her head, her tail rapidly flicking until it was gone, her claws shrunk back to normal size and her skin started to slowly change back to normal color. Finally she relaxed, though it was Ria this time. She was breathing heavily, her hands now on the ground holding her up, and she was sweating hard. She looked up at the two guys and smiled.

"Hey I'm Ria," she said.
