The testing room was still filled with pedestals with the metals on top of them when she got back. She noticed that the metal was all the same kind, whatever it was, and her shoes were still in the corner of the room. She walked onto the metal grating, Grimoire in hand, and the tickling feeling returned from the rough surface. She felt a bit better being on the charged grating, the power surging through her body without doing any kind of damage. She could get used to the feeling. "So what do I do?" She asked aloud and to a speaker. The speaker buzzed and turned on, surrounded by a cage. "Hello again Alice." It was a male voice, rugged from talking through a low quality sound system. "Thanks for... Cooperating. This test is simple. All you must do is try and transfer power between those metal rocks on the stands. The farther you can extend your power between the rocks, the better the results." He said. Alice was about to touch a rock and give it a pot shot, having no idea how to accomplish this goal. Maybe it would do it itself? . "Hold on... The only thing you can't do is make physical contact." The speaker added. Alice sighed, and looked at the metal stones. She rubbed her fingers together, the electricity making a small crackle with each rub. "So, I just gotta charge them..." She said to herself. She shyly put her hand out toward the rock, and make a pushing motion, like in Star Wars. Sadly, the force wasn't on her side this time, and there was no sudden shooting of electricity. "How am I supposed to do this?" She asked the speaker. "Don't worry, we're giving you all day." The speaker said before making the audible "click" of turning off.
Time had past, and it must've been nearing 7 PM. Alice had grown tired of staring at the rock. She tried everything she could have thought of, and would have thrown the Grimoire at it had she been given that option. Bored, she decided to open her book and start reading, hoping she'd get the answer. The rugged pages felt flimsy in her hand, but it held strong. She flipped to the page she was on, and stopped. She noticed that the wording was darker in one of the paragraphs, and the darker wording indicated some means on controlling how to keep electricity in a "flow" rather than some mish mash inside her body. She read for some time, and with a few minutes of practice she could feel waves of energy flowing through her. According to the book, it was all a mental process of imagining the feeling of water swishing back and forth. "Okay... Now what." She asked herself, but the book gave no answers this time. She sighed and closed the book, and looked at the rock again before stumbling back a few steps at a cold chill at her feet. It felt like she was standing in water, cold as ice. Looking down, however, all she saw was the grate and a small glow of electricity below her. She began to think about how the book explained how to make electricity flow. "Well, if I can make it flow, then I should be able to make it go somewhere, right?" She said, and began to imagine the waves churning. Alice felt warm suddenly as the energy circled her, and she felt it coming up from the cold ground as well. The power grew, and she started to feel overwhelmed. She pushed out with her hands and with her mind, and she heard a soft crash of thunder in the distance. When she opened her eyes, the lights were out, but the rocks gave off a blue light. Alice also noticed the Grimoire was glowing red. She smiled. "So, did I pass?" Even though she asked, no one answered, and a few minutes later, no one came out to tell her what had happened. And a few minutes after that, Alice had still been standing there, confused.
The lab suddenly went dark everywhere. The power had gone out for some reason, and there was a crash in one of the labs, like an explosion. There were no lights, and the guards looked around confused and startled. They ran off toward the sound of the explosion as if on instinct, leaving the mutants of the Gathering Place alone.
Once Alice left the room, some of the mutants in the mutant gathering room seemed to notice how the guards were always nice to Alice and they also seemed to question this. They had obviously noticed that Alice and subject 25 were always standing together and some of them thought that maybe subject 25 had answers. It didn't take long before a small group of mutants surrounded subject 25 and started to ask questions. The way those mutants ask questions is not always the best however and violence was a common thing around here to get answers. Of course there was one problem with using violence and that problem was the guards. When the guards would see mutants fighting they would wait till the end of the fight and then take them with them to punish those mutants. But to be honest... It seemed like this 'rule' has become softer lately. It was just as if someone important who loved to punish mutants had left the lab... and since then mutants didn't get punished as fast as before.
Still normally mutants wouldn't consider fighting too fast if they were dealing with another mutant because they might get wounded and a lot of mutants are nothing more than cowards. But subject 25 being only 14 years old didn't help much. Kids were almost always considered weaklings among mutants. Even though age didn't matter in how powerful a mutant can be. It is true however that older mutants have more experience and because of that can control their powers better than younger mutants which is why the older mutants consider themselves more powerful then the younger ones. Still this was not always the case... One of the mutants from the small group stepped in front of subject 25. Subject 25 took a look at the mutant in front of her and saw that it was a man. The man was wearing blue ripped jeans, a green ripped shirt and he had bandage all over the place including his face. His face was covered in scars and he was bald. The typical look for a mutant who fought a lot and got into a lot of problems.
"Hey missy... Care to tell me why the guards are kissing your friends ass?" The man said but subject 25 didn't answer. She just stayed quiet and looked at the man observing what he was going to do. "Answer me!" the man shouted while he punched subject 25 causing her to fall down but still she didn't answer or did nothing else then stare at the man. "So you are still not going to answer me?" the man said threatening while he grabbed subject 25 and made her stand up again. "Have it your way." he said before he took out a small coin which transformed almost immediately after he had shown it into a knife. He commanded 2 other mutants of the group to hold subject 25 while he would harm the girl which would possibly give them answers. And if subject 25 still didn't want to talk... Well then the group would have had their fun right? Just like commanded the mutants grabbed subject 25's arms and held her tightly. There was no way she could escape this situation as it was now. The man with the knife quickly made use of this situation and started to rapidly slash and stab subject 25 with his knife. As hurt as subject 25 was she still didn't answer in fact she didn't even cry or even scream which made the man with the knife mad...
He grabbed the face of subject 25 forcing their eyes to make contact. Blood dripped from subject 25's face as he did this but the man didn't seem to care. "Still not ready to talk?!" the man said but nothing changed. Subject 25 didnβt make a sound. "I'll see you in hell bitch!" the mutant said before he swung his knife to make the final and deadliest blow but before the knife made contact with subject 25, subject 25 started to laugh. "I'll see you in hell indeed!" an evil voice coming from subject 25 said and right after saying this, the mutants holding subject 25 were ignited into black flames and a moment later they let go of subject 25 while they were shouting in pain. All the mutants from the group took a step back surprised about what just had happened but a moment later the man who was asking the questions ordered all the mutants to attack. This was exactly what they did but it was in vain. It was like subject 25 disappeared from the spot but in reality, she had just boosted her speed using black aura around her feet. Subject 25's sudden disappearance caused some of the mutants to attack their own accidently but even though it was an accident, those kinds of thug mutants would start a fight for it and just like predicted the mutants started to fight among themselves. Subject 25 wasn't planning for them to have all the fun however her hands quickly were covered in the same black aura as her feet were and before long she appeared before the group again punishing them, sending them flying and knocking them out one by one.
Evil laughter sounded across the room as this happened and it called for more and more attention across the room. Still for some reason, the guards didn't seem to notice this fight. It seemed like there was a thought manipulator somewhere in the room working on the fight not being noticed and subject 25 had to admit that this person was doing a very good job in not making the guards noticing this loud fight. Some moments passed by before the last mutant attacking subject 25 faced her. It was the man with the knife who had been hurting subject 25 a while back. "Are you prepared to die?!" Subject 25 asked but this time the man didn't answer and he just rushed towards subject 25 in his blind rage. This was the final mistake he made in his life... Subject 25 suddenly appeared behind him and the man stopped. It was like time stood still yet it didn't. "See you later." subject 25 said before the man covered in blood fell down on the ground... Dead...
Everything calmed down again once the fight was over. It was going to be like an average day subject 25, or better the demon within subject 25 thought. But she was mistaken. Suddenly the room went dark, an explosion like sound could be heard and guards rushed out leaving the mutants alone. It seemed to be just a black out at first but the explosion like sound changed everything. So there is still going to be some action for me today... The evil voice sounded from subject 25 "Well I'll better take advantage of this then." she said and right after saying this she left the mutant gathering room in high speed destroying the door on her way out.
------------------------------------------
It had been a while already since the group of escaped mutants escaped the lab. The first thing they did when they escaped was heading for the forest where they still are even now. Subject 89 didn't do much for the others to notice her a lot however and their stay in the forest was coming to an end. Earlier it had been decided that Caylx and Damon were going to pay a visit to the parents of Caylx. According to Caylx, her parents had enough money to take and even a boat which they could use to escape from this island. It would surely help to get off this island considering that Dr.Mayu and people were still searching for them and once off this island it would become a whole lot harder for Dr.Mayu to find them. In fact it should even be enough for them to start living normal lifeβs if they want as long as they hid their powers or they could just join some organization or something. There was actually pretty much they could do once they left this island. "Okay everyone follow me." Dorian said while he was passing everyone. Even though Caylx and Damon were going to meet with the parents of Caylx, the others wouldn't just stay still. No they would go further trough the forest and meet with Caylx and Damon somewhere near the waterside. That was the plan for now and just like always, subject 89 held herself quiet and followed orders without attracting too much attention.

"Hey, how you holding up?" a male voice asked subject 89 and as she turned her head up she could see that it was Dorian calling out for her. Even though subject 89 didn't really talk with any of the other people she knew their names pretty much by listening to the others. It didn't take long before he held out his hand for subject 89. It is true that subject 89 was having a hard time here in the forest but she was still a little too scared of the others to just accept their kindness. "You're new to the group. Sorry Deri, Angel, Eseame, and Elizabeth have kind of been in their own little world. They'll come around soon." Dorian said with a comforting smile and all subject 89 could do was smile back. Subject 89 didn't really know how to handle situations like this. Her always staying in the background was the perfect proof of this. She just didn't know how to act near other people... In fact she is even scared of them. So without looking too much at Dorian she continued walking hoping that this didn't offend him.

"s-Sure... Uh, hey, you know the elevator is still out..." Alice spoke behind subject 25. "Don't worry about that... We can always just break open the floor of the elevator and just jump down." subject 25 said jokingly. "Or... Couldn't you do something with electricity? Maybe you can try and make it work." subject 25 continued but started to laugh after saying this. As they walked further to the elevator they passed a man who seemed to be pretty shocked. "Pathetic human beings." subject 25 said as she brought her sword closer to the man's head once Alice had finished taking some gear from the man. "Die!" she said as she pierced trough the head just to continue walking after doing it as if nothing had happened. "Uh... You said you smelled blood... d-Does that mean people are dying somewhere?" Alice asked subject 25 and subject 25 immediately started to laugh madly after she asked that. Except for the people who we are going to kill... Yes... subject 25 stopped talking and walking for a moment just to turn around and look right in Alice's eyes. "She is still on this island." Subject 25 said and turned around almost immediately after saying that to burst into laughter once again.

"I guess small towns never change much." She mumbled sliding up against a wall.
----------------------
"Do I fear her...no...I fear the pain she brings to the people I care about. The people here in this group and the ones back in the lab. I don't fear the physical pain she could bring me she's done most of it already. What I'm scared of is one of you guys getting hurt. And that means you too." Dorian said to subject 89 once he had knelt down to her height. Subject 89 was rather surprised though. Every mutant she had seen so far was scared of Dr.Mayu even if it was only a little bit they still were scared of her but the way Dorian just told her he wasn't just made subject 89 believe him. "And what about..." subject 89 first hesitated to continue her sentence but she soon took the courage to ask him. "And what about subject 11?" subject 89 asked curiously.

Emma had stopped screaming and caught the sword when Mayu threw it. Emma turned to the beast that had charged her. It was still reeling in pain from the scream. Emma took the opportunity to disable it. She raised one of her swords... and felt a sharp pain in her stomach as the injector needle impaled her. She dropped the sword. Everything was spinning, pulsing as the images swam in front of her. Then, blackness.
-
Andrew shook himself, clearing his head. Emma was down, Mitch had made sure of that. Andrew looked around. Something wasn't right...
The blast took him completely by surprise. It was a split second, but that was all it took. A high-pitched sound wave, too high for human hearing, but in the golden zone for his. His vision went black, and he collapsed.
-
Mitch saw Emma go down. Then he saw Andrew go down. Then he saw two men and a woman in full combat armor walk out from the foliage. Their armor was black, the visors deep blue. One of the men had a big red cross painted onto his chest and shoulders, and he ran right over to the downed form of Emma. The other man held what Mitch thought was an over-sized boom-box. He figured that was what brought Andrew down.
The girl held a fully automatic, military issue Special Operations variant M-16B model. Longer barrel for accuracy, specialist scope for all-weather function, chambering a powerful 6.8mm round. Pointed right at him. Mitch slowly crouched down, set the gun on he forest floor, then started backing away. "Stop." The girl moved down to the scope. Mitch complied. Then, the medic spoke up. "She's fine. She'll be out of it for a bit, but she'll be fine." The girl grunted in acknowledgement. "You O.K. Mayu?"
After a long ride down, they reached ground level. When the door opened, the first thing which could be seen was the blood splattered walls and corpses scattered along the floor. Alice shrunk back a bit, but after a few seconds, gathered the courage to go to the elevator panel and suck up any remaining energy that was left in the controls. Energy pulsed between her fingers and the fear went away once more. Maybe my powers occupy my emotions? Alice thought, then shook her head. Now where would I come up with a reason like that... She thought, and lost herself in keeping the energy flowing. The second thing Alice saw was the entrance to the lab, all four layers of doorway blown down and to bits leading to the outside. "w-What happened here...?" Alice wondered aloud, the sense of fear not completely depleted just yet. Stepping over the bodies, she made her way to the front doors of the lab, put paused at one of the heavier armored soldiers. She dropped the pistol and picked up a strange looking gun which the man was holding before whatever happened. "What's this thing..." Alice held the Anti-Mutation Gun in her hands awkwardly because of its size and shape. It had a few settings on it for combating different kinds of mutants, and some settings were battery operated. Alice drained the gun of its power and slung it over her back for later, holding the Grimoire under her left arm. She looked toward the doorway, and waited for 25.
-------------------
As soon as Dr.Mayu gave Emma her sword back, Emma rushed towards the mutant who had attacked her. She hadn't seen however how Mitch had dropped himself to the ground and that he had shot in the direction of Emma. And just like expected before Emma could even attack the mutant in front of her, she fell down. First Dr.Mayu wanted to do something but then suddenly she stopped and started to smile. "Its over." she Whispered just before subject 22 also fell down and a small squad made themselves visible walking out of their hiding places. They immediately took aim at Mitch and Mitch quickly surrendered. The medic of the team went to Emma and said she would be fine and once she analyzed Emma she asked Dr.Mayu if she was ok. Dr.Mayu nodded. "I am for now... But it wonβt take long before I am also going to collapse." she said while she took a few steps to Mitch. "Strong poison you used there... I am lucky I have people being able to slow down the progress of injections..." Dr.Mayu said after taking a few steps but still remaining on a fairly large distance from Mitch. "But my time... Has run out... Now... I'll see you... Later" she said before she collapsed on the ground.
-------------------
"I have no reason to believe that subject 11 would do anything to harm me or my friends but, you better believe if she was to hurt anyone I loved I wouldn't just stand by and let it happen." Dorian said to subject 89 while he slowly took the lead. "So you would stand up against her even though you know she is far stronger than any of us?" subject 89 asked a little shocked. She had also heard the legend and rumors of the famous subject 11 and the rumors of her escape from the lab without any troubles. Some rumors even said that she was the strongest mutant there was and that she could be seen as an enemy for both humans and mutants. There was one thing subject 89 was sure of however. Subject 11 was without a doubt a lot stronger then subject 89 was.

"Yes, I would stand up to her. My friends and family are all I have and the most important thing to me. Even more important than my father's book. I would give my life so that all of you could live peacefully." Dorian said and subject 89 felt a little amazed. Subject 89 didn't know a lot of mutants but the mutants she knew were horrible people, cowards or dead already... And there weren't a lot who would have said the same thing as Dorian just said. Dorian's attention was taken by another member of the group a little later however. The person seemed to wonder when someone else from the group was going to wake up. "I don't know but she needs all the sleep she can get. At least we know she's not in too much pain being asleep." Dorian answered before he asked a question. "Deri! Have you met...what's your name sweetheart?" he asked subject 89. "The scientists used to call me subject 89 but... I was once called Alice..." She said a little hesitating mostly because the only person who called her by that name was her partner and her partner had passed away...

Alice finished reading the first chapter of the Grimoire and closed it some time later. She looked back at her doll, which had been notoriously glued to her finger during lunch hour. Softly placing her finger back on the doll's neck, Alice began to play around with the doll, and figured out how to control the twine's length. She threw the doll around like a yo yo, letting the wiring make intricate shapes as she let it wrap between her fingers and untangle just as easily. It seemed 25 hadn't finished deciding what to do, so Alice looked back into her book to see if there was anything she missed. Her eyes narrowed at one part of the text, and looked back at her doll. Reading a paragraph or two, Alice plucked the twine twice and tried transferring power between her and the doll. The first time she tried, she transferred too slowly and tired herself out. The second time, the doll quite literally exploded in her face. The explosion was pure electricity however, and didn't do any harm to Alice. After a few more tries, she finally had gotten a smooth energy transfer to the doll and had even included it into her own energy field. She thought of raising the arm of the doll, and the doll lifted an arm. "Huh... Ha hah." Alice giggled, almost in a dull tone, and continued to move the doll's body parts to make it appear human. She even walked it over to 25, and plopped it down somewhere easy for her to see. It stared up at 25 with glowing blue eyes. Controlling it from a distance, Alice made the doll tilt it's head in a funny way, as if it were wondering how much longer it would take until 25 figured out where to go. However, deep inside, Alice was thinking that same question. It seemed the lab had just started recovering from what happened, and they didn't have much time now. "So..." Alice said, getting up from her wall and walking to 25. The doll tried doing the same thing without Alice knowing, and had instead rammed itself into a wall. It tried to keep walking, but to no avail. "Have you decided where we're gonna go?"

Mitch was shaking. He had been fine on the ride in, but now, he realized just how deep he had gone. He had just undergone excruciating tests, and would now be sent to the gathering space. He was a former guard. His shaking was a combination of shock from the experiment, and the realization that he didn't have the energy to use any kind of psionic powers without killing himself. He recognized the guards flanking him as the two males that had ambushed him and Andrew. His mind was racing, he didn't notice Andrew in the cell as he walked by it. They reached the elevator, and soon Mitch stepped into the Gathering Space.
-
Sam was milling about when the guards dropped off a mutant. The mutant attracted some attention in the form of a fist-fight, almost immediately after the guards left. The newbie was obviously exhausted, but he was quick on his feet, dodging each punch, and after a few minutes, the newbie took down his would-be attacker with a quick right cross. Then he walked off in Sam's general direction. Sam walked in front of the newcomer, who walked right past him. His shoulder brushed up against Sam's. He took another step, then stopped.
-
Mitch knew there was something up with the mutant behind him. In the brief moment when they made contact, something triggered in Mitch's brain. The mutant whispered something, almost inaudibly. Mitch picked it up loud and clear though. "Psion?" Mitch nodded slightly. "Psion." Mitch kept walking, but he knew he had found a potential ally.
