"I don't know but I am sure it is a nice place." Subject 25 had answered Alice. "Hm... Right then." She replied shortly. Alice was half surprised that Subject 25 didn't know what the outside was, but half unsurprised as well. It was one of those awkward moments when you ask a question to someone, who happens to be the last person who may be able to answer it, but then the person didn't have the answer as you may have expected. The question would just have to float for now. A few minutes passed before a guard came up from the door. He looked a bit irritated as the rest, probably because he couldn't beat on her, and was on the stronger side of the guards. "Subject 32, the test room is ready to receive." He said, forcing himself to have a gentle tone. To other mutants, it may have seemed odd that the guards wouldn't attack Alice or even get an off tone on her. Alice got up and took the Grimoire and the battery with her. "Alright... I'll see you later, 25." She said and walked off with the guard and toward the testing room.

The testing room was still filled with pedestals with the metals on top of them when she got back. She noticed that the metal was all the same kind, whatever it was, and her shoes were still in the corner of the room. She walked onto the metal grating, Grimoire in hand, and the tickling feeling returned from the rough surface. She felt a bit better being on the charged grating, the power surging through her body without doing any kind of damage. She could get used to the feeling. "So what do I do?" She asked aloud and to a speaker. The speaker buzzed and turned on, surrounded by a cage. "Hello again Alice." It was a male voice, rugged from talking through a low quality sound system. "Thanks for... Cooperating. This test is simple. All you must do is try and transfer power between those metal rocks on the stands. The farther you can extend your power between the rocks, the better the results." He said. Alice was about to touch a rock and give it a pot shot, having no idea how to accomplish this goal. Maybe it would do it itself? . "Hold on... The only thing you can't do is make physical contact." The speaker added. Alice sighed, and looked at the metal stones. She rubbed her fingers together, the electricity making a small crackle with each rub. "So, I just gotta charge them..." She said to herself. She shyly put her hand out toward the rock, and make a pushing motion, like in Star Wars. Sadly, the force wasn't on her side this time, and there was no sudden shooting of electricity. "How am I supposed to do this?" She asked the speaker. "Don't worry, we're giving you all day." The speaker said before making the audible "click" of turning off.

Time had past, and it must've been nearing 7 PM. Alice had grown tired of staring at the rock. She tried everything she could have thought of, and would have thrown the Grimoire at it had she been given that option. Bored, she decided to open her book and start reading, hoping she'd get the answer. The rugged pages felt flimsy in her hand, but it held strong. She flipped to the page she was on, and stopped. She noticed that the wording was darker in one of the paragraphs, and the darker wording indicated some means on controlling how to keep electricity in a "flow" rather than some mish mash inside her body. She read for some time, and with a few minutes of practice she could feel waves of energy flowing through her. According to the book, it was all a mental process of imagining the feeling of water swishing back and forth. "Okay... Now what." She asked herself, but the book gave no answers this time. She sighed and closed the book, and looked at the rock again before stumbling back a few steps at a cold chill at her feet. It felt like she was standing in water, cold as ice. Looking down, however, all she saw was the grate and a small glow of electricity below her. She began to think about how the book explained how to make electricity flow. "Well, if I can make it flow, then I should be able to make it go somewhere, right?" She said, and began to imagine the waves churning. Alice felt warm suddenly as the energy circled her, and she felt it coming up from the cold ground as well. The power grew, and she started to feel overwhelmed. She pushed out with her hands and with her mind, and she heard a soft crash of thunder in the distance. When she opened her eyes, the lights were out, but the rocks gave off a blue light. Alice also noticed the Grimoire was glowing red. She smiled. "So, did I pass?" Even though she asked, no one answered, and a few minutes later, no one came out to tell her what had happened. And a few minutes after that, Alice had still been standing there, confused.

The lab suddenly went dark everywhere. The power had gone out for some reason, and there was a crash in one of the labs, like an explosion. There were no lights, and the guards looked around confused and startled. They ran off toward the sound of the explosion as if on instinct, leaving the mutants of the Gathering Place alone.

"Hm... Right then." Alice replied to what subject 25 said about the outside. Subject 25 had to admit that her view about the outside might be foolish considering that she didn't know anything about it but she believed in it being far better than here. There was nothing else then believing that she could do after all. A few minutes passed before once again a guard walked inside the room to get Alice for another test. Alice had been doing a lot of tests lately and every time that they someone went to get her, they always seemed to force themselves to act nice around her. Rather strange for a human to try and act nice to a mutant in this lab according to subject 25. But everything surely had their reasons. "Subject 32, the test room is ready to receive." the guard said. "Alright... I'll see you later, 25." Alice replied shortly after. "Bye bye." subject 25 said before Alice and the guard left the room.

Once Alice left the room, some of the mutants in the mutant gathering room seemed to notice how the guards were always nice to Alice and they also seemed to question this. They had obviously noticed that Alice and subject 25 were always standing together and some of them thought that maybe subject 25 had answers. It didn't take long before a small group of mutants surrounded subject 25 and started to ask questions. The way those mutants ask questions is not always the best however and violence was a common thing around here to get answers. Of course there was one problem with using violence and that problem was the guards. When the guards would see mutants fighting they would wait till the end of the fight and then take them with them to punish those mutants. But to be honest... It seemed like this 'rule' has become softer lately. It was just as if someone important who loved to punish mutants had left the lab... and since then mutants didn't get punished as fast as before.

Still normally mutants wouldn't consider fighting too fast if they were dealing with another mutant because they might get wounded and a lot of mutants are nothing more than cowards. But subject 25 being only 14 years old didn't help much. Kids were almost always considered weaklings among mutants. Even though age didn't matter in how powerful a mutant can be. It is true however that older mutants have more experience and because of that can control their powers better than younger mutants which is why the older mutants consider themselves more powerful then the younger ones. Still this was not always the case... One of the mutants from the small group stepped in front of subject 25. Subject 25 took a look at the mutant in front of her and saw that it was a man. The man was wearing blue ripped jeans, a green ripped shirt and he had bandage all over the place including his face. His face was covered in scars and he was bald. The typical look for a mutant who fought a lot and got into a lot of problems.

"Hey missy... Care to tell me why the guards are kissing your friends ass?" The man said but subject 25 didn't answer. She just stayed quiet and looked at the man observing what he was going to do. "Answer me!" the man shouted while he punched subject 25 causing her to fall down but still she didn't answer or did nothing else then stare at the man. "So you are still not going to answer me?" the man said threatening while he grabbed subject 25 and made her stand up again. "Have it your way." he said before he took out a small coin which transformed almost immediately after he had shown it into a knife. He commanded 2 other mutants of the group to hold subject 25 while he would harm the girl which would possibly give them answers. And if subject 25 still didn't want to talk... Well then the group would have had their fun right? Just like commanded the mutants grabbed subject 25's arms and held her tightly. There was no way she could escape this situation as it was now. The man with the knife quickly made use of this situation and started to rapidly slash and stab subject 25 with his knife. As hurt as subject 25 was she still didn't answer in fact she didn't even cry or even scream which made the man with the knife mad...

He grabbed the face of subject 25 forcing their eyes to make contact. Blood dripped from subject 25's face as he did this but the man didn't seem to care. "Still not ready to talk?!" the man said but nothing changed. Subject 25 didn’t make a sound. "I'll see you in hell bitch!" the mutant said before he swung his knife to make the final and deadliest blow but before the knife made contact with subject 25, subject 25 started to laugh. "I'll see you in hell indeed!" an evil voice coming from subject 25 said and right after saying this, the mutants holding subject 25 were ignited into black flames and a moment later they let go of subject 25 while they were shouting in pain. All the mutants from the group took a step back surprised about what just had happened but a moment later the man who was asking the questions ordered all the mutants to attack. This was exactly what they did but it was in vain. It was like subject 25 disappeared from the spot but in reality, she had just boosted her speed using black aura around her feet. Subject 25's sudden disappearance caused some of the mutants to attack their own accidently but even though it was an accident, those kinds of thug mutants would start a fight for it and just like predicted the mutants started to fight among themselves. Subject 25 wasn't planning for them to have all the fun however her hands quickly were covered in the same black aura as her feet were and before long she appeared before the group again punishing them, sending them flying and knocking them out one by one.

Evil laughter sounded across the room as this happened and it called for more and more attention across the room. Still for some reason, the guards didn't seem to notice this fight. It seemed like there was a thought manipulator somewhere in the room working on the fight not being noticed and subject 25 had to admit that this person was doing a very good job in not making the guards noticing this loud fight. Some moments passed by before the last mutant attacking subject 25 faced her. It was the man with the knife who had been hurting subject 25 a while back. "Are you prepared to die?!" Subject 25 asked but this time the man didn't answer and he just rushed towards subject 25 in his blind rage. This was the final mistake he made in his life... Subject 25 suddenly appeared behind him and the man stopped. It was like time stood still yet it didn't. "See you later." subject 25 said before the man covered in blood fell down on the ground... Dead...

Everything calmed down again once the fight was over. It was going to be like an average day subject 25, or better the demon within subject 25 thought. But she was mistaken. Suddenly the room went dark, an explosion like sound could be heard and guards rushed out leaving the mutants alone. It seemed to be just a black out at first but the explosion like sound changed everything. So there is still going to be some action for me today... The evil voice sounded from subject 25 "Well I'll better take advantage of this then." she said and right after saying this she left the mutant gathering room in high speed destroying the door on her way out.

------------------------------------------

It had been a while already since the group of escaped mutants escaped the lab. The first thing they did when they escaped was heading for the forest where they still are even now. Subject 89 didn't do much for the others to notice her a lot however and their stay in the forest was coming to an end. Earlier it had been decided that Caylx and Damon were going to pay a visit to the parents of Caylx. According to Caylx, her parents had enough money to take and even a boat which they could use to escape from this island. It would surely help to get off this island considering that Dr.Mayu and people were still searching for them and once off this island it would become a whole lot harder for Dr.Mayu to find them. In fact it should even be enough for them to start living normal life’s if they want as long as they hid their powers or they could just join some organization or something. There was actually pretty much they could do once they left this island. "Okay everyone follow me." Dorian said while he was passing everyone. Even though Caylx and Damon were going to meet with the parents of Caylx, the others wouldn't just stay still. No they would go further trough the forest and meet with Caylx and Damon somewhere near the waterside. That was the plan for now and just like always, subject 89 held herself quiet and followed orders without attracting too much attention.

Alice had no idea of what may have just happened, but she felt like it was a bad idea to stay for too long. She took two of the rocks, which were actually small and light enough to carry in her pockets. As she left the room, swinging the door open, she noticed the door stop and come back enough so the metal knob was close to where the rocks were in her pocket. Putting aside the fact that she had a pair of super magnets in her pocket, she exited the room. She was about to take a stairwell up to find Subject 25, but noticing the glare of flashlights coming down, she backed up and went to a darker and safer stairway. The power was still out and it was hard to see, even with the glowing book in her hands. Grasping a cold metal railing, she made her way up to the sixth floor. As she neared the door, she heard yelling and screaming coming from another room. She paused for a second before continuing into the next room. She opened the door and ran smack into a single guard coming downstairs. "Hey, you-!" He said, grasping her shoulder and suddenly going silent. Alice's eyed widened, and looked up at him. His eyes were wide with surprise but frozen stiff as he stared down at her in a silent seizure. As soon as Alice got the courage to take his hand off of her, he fell down and started shaking in shock. "Uh, s-sorry..." She said, and headed toward the gathering place. She passed the scanners, unmanned and offline, and almost ran into Subject 25 as both neared the door. "Oh, uh, hey 25..." She said, and noticed she looked a bit different. Was this her other side? "y-You're bleeding... Everything alright?" Alice said calmly. Hopefully, this would snap 25 out of this "demon" state she was in. And if not... Well... Anything could happen then.

Dorian saw one of the young girls she was about 12 older than Eseame and Elizabeth. She had been new to the group and never really said much of anything. Dorian walked up to her and patted her head. "Hey, how you holding up?" he asked worried the young girl was struggling to keep up. He felt badly that Deri, Angel, Eseame, and Elizabeth hadn't talked to her at all she must be lonely. He held out his hand for her to take it if she wanted. "You're new to the group. Sorry Deri, Angel, Eseame, and Elizabeth have kind of been in their own little world. They'll come around soon." He said with a comforting smile.

Once the door was destroyed and subject 25 went through it she just stood still in the middle of the hallway waiting for something to happen. Without moving she looked around and before long Alice appeared out of the darkness. "Oh, uh, hey 25..." she said before she seemed to notice that subject 25 was now being controlled by her demon. "y-You're bleeding... Everything alright?" she said calmly. Subject 25's head turned slowly towards Alice's head. "Don't worry I am fine." Subject 25 replied while she looked closely into the eyes of Alice. "Blood..." subject 25 whispered. "I smell blood..." subject 25 whispered once again and right after whispering this she started to laugh madly. "What do you say girl... Want to have some fun?" subject 25 asked Alice while she used her powers to form a dark aura shaped into some kind of sword. She quickly took hold of this sword and slowly set a few steps towards the elevator. It was only a matter of time before the guards would rush back and once this happened, she would have all the fun she wanted.

-------------------

"Hey, how you holding up?" a male voice asked subject 89 and as she turned her head up she could see that it was Dorian calling out for her. Even though subject 89 didn't really talk with any of the other people she knew their names pretty much by listening to the others. It didn't take long before he held out his hand for subject 89. It is true that subject 89 was having a hard time here in the forest but she was still a little too scared of the others to just accept their kindness. "You're new to the group. Sorry Deri, Angel, Eseame, and Elizabeth have kind of been in their own little world. They'll come around soon." Dorian said with a comforting smile and all subject 89 could do was smile back. Subject 89 didn't really know how to handle situations like this. Her always staying in the background was the perfect proof of this. She just didn't know how to act near other people... In fact she is even scared of them. So without looking too much at Dorian she continued walking hoping that this didn't offend him.

Chills went down Alice's back as Subject 25 spoke. "I smell blood..." Subject 25 said, then laughed like a maniac. What do you say girl... Want to have some fun?" Subject 25 said, materializing a sword out of the darkness of the lab. She had been staring right at Alice for some time before she set off toward the elevator. Alice's grip of the Grimoire tightened, and the light from it grew. Alice replied, knowing she had little choice what with 25 being under demon control. "s-Sure... Uh, hey, you know the elevator is still out..." Alice said to 25, who was oblivious to the fact that the elevator actually needed power to operate. As she followed 25 to the elevator, both of them passed the man who Alice had passively shocked into unconsciousness. She noticed that he had a taser and a Desert Eagle holstered on his waist, and she picked both up after strapping the Grimoire onto her back. The taser felt hot for a second, but then became cold in her hands as she absorbed a warm wave of power. Feeling the electricity between her fingers, she held the gun in both hands, awkwardly, but ready in case some guards decided to show up behind Subject 25. Alice spoke after finding and checking the ammo. "Uh... You said you smelled blood... d-Does that mean people are dying somewhere?" She asked, wondering if it could have been the guards.

"I sure hope they warm up soon. You look like you could use a good friend. I tell you what. I'll be your friend till they come around sound good?" Dorian asked while he was walking besides subject 89. Subject 89 first thought it was strange. She didn't understand why people would try to be nice to her for no special reason. Was there something Dorian wanted from subject 89? Or did he really just want to be nice? "S...Sure." subject 89 hesitated to say. It was still going to be a very long journey. Maybe Dorian was right and having a friend couldn't hurt. There was something she wondered for a long time now however. "Euhm... Dorian... Aren't you afraid of Dr.Mayu?" She asked a little unsure not trying to offend him. The group had been escaping for a while now but subject 89 never saw any fair or at least not yet in their eyes. Were they that sure that they could escape Dr.Mayu without further problems? Or did they just try and forget about her? Either way subject 89 really wondered about this because she had build up a constant fear of Dr.Mayu finding them. Surely after what she had done to subject 89's partner...

--------------------------

"s-Sure... Uh, hey, you know the elevator is still out..." Alice spoke behind subject 25. "Don't worry about that... We can always just break open the floor of the elevator and just jump down." subject 25 said jokingly. "Or... Couldn't you do something with electricity? Maybe you can try and make it work." subject 25 continued but started to laugh after saying this. As they walked further to the elevator they passed a man who seemed to be pretty shocked. "Pathetic human beings." subject 25 said as she brought her sword closer to the man's head once Alice had finished taking some gear from the man. "Die!" she said as she pierced trough the head just to continue walking after doing it as if nothing had happened. "Uh... You said you smelled blood... d-Does that mean people are dying somewhere?" Alice asked subject 25 and subject 25 immediately started to laugh madly after she asked that. Except for the people who we are going to kill... Yes... subject 25 stopped talking and walking for a moment just to turn around and look right in Alice's eyes. "She is still on this island." Subject 25 said and turned around almost immediately after saying that to burst into laughter once again.

Dorian stopped and knelt down to Subject 89's level. "Do I fear her...no...I fear the pain she brings to the people I care about. The people here in this group and the ones back in the lab. I don't fear the physical pain she could bring me she's done most of it already. What I'm scared of is one of you guys getting hurt." he said looking into the little girls eyes. "And that means you too." he added with a comforting smile. He knew she was scared of being taken back and terrified of Dr.Mayu.

"Don't worry about that... We can always just break open the floor of the elevator and just jump down." Subject 25 said, as if it were a joke. "Or... Couldn't you do something with electricity? Maybe you can try and make it work." She said to Alice, who had just started looting the man. "Eh?" Alice said, and electricity flew between her fingers as she looted the taser and gun. "Oh, uh, sure, I guess I can try..." She said. As Alice finished looting the guy and backed away, 25 stepped forward, almost pushing past Alice and readying her sword. "Pathetic human beings... Die!" 25 said, bringing the sword down and stabbing the man in the head even as she walked past him. Even though Alice was against mindless killing like this, there wasn't much she could do against 25's actions at the moment. However, Alice had a feeling that things would have gone differently had they left the man alive, adding to her reasons of not bothering 25 about it. Alice asked 25 about her ability to smell blood as she walked behind her. "Except for the people who we are going to kill... Yes..." 25 said, suddenly stopping and turning to stare right into Alice's eyes again. She may have noticed that Alice's blue eyes were glowing very slightly, but being in her demon form, it would have been harder to focus on that small fact. Alice herself would have been less likely to notice. "She is still on this island." 25 said, turned and faced the elevator, then burst into more crazed laughter. Alice sighed and walked to the elevator panel, wondering who 25 was talking about. Shrugging the question aside, she opened up the panel and looked through the wires, not really sure what to look for. "Lets see... Hey, what causes you to go into your demon form anyway..." Alice asked aloud as she felt the wires. With the imaginary "flow" of electricity around her, she felt a sort of cold connection between her and a wire, which she felt expand above and far below her. "Okay, uh, here I go..." She said, and pushed the power away from her and into the elevator. It was slightly painful to charge the elevator with such force, but it was only her first time at doing anything like this. The elevator soon opened up, the lights flickering on the inside. Alice walked straight into the elevator and opened the control panel, trying to get it to work to her favor. It gave her some trouble, what with the security protocols, and would take her a few minutes to get working. "Give me a minute..." She said, and got to work.

"Lets see... Hey, what causes you to go into your demon form anyway..." Alice asked subject 25 as she was working on getting the elevator working. "I think it's pretty funny how you can talk so normal against a demon like me." subject 25 said while she observed the elevator. "But I'm in a good mood so I'll tell you anyways." she said before taking a huge breath and continuing again. "Taking control of subject 25 isn't that hard. In fact I can control her at any time I want but it is far easier to just control her when her emotions are building up. This is then also often when I try to take control of her... But... Controlling isn't the most difficult part... There are actually restrictions to what I can and can't do when I am using her body which is a huge bother to me..." subject 25 suddenly became quiet and without saying another word she continued to stare at the elevator. "Okay, uh, here I go..." Alice said and a moment later the elevator started working again. without hesitation subject 25 walked into the elevator and sat down once she was inside. Alice however went immediately to the control panel. "Give me a minute..." she said while she started working some more on the elevator. It was still going to take a few minutes before it would be functioning right.

Every mutant she had seen so far was scared of Dr.Mayu even if it was only a little bit they still were scared of her but the way Dorian just told her he wasn't just made subject 89 believe him. "And what about..." subject 89 first hesitated to continue her sentence but she soon took the courage to ask him. "And what about subject 11?" subject 89 asked curiously.

Mitch swore. The dart hit, he was sure of it. So why hadn't it injected her with the anesthetic? Mayu should've been out cold. His train of thought stopped when Emma screamed. She did her research. Mitch attached a bayonet to the end of his rifle, then dropped himself thirty feet to the ground, loading a new round on the way down. Mitch landed, went down to a knee, and squeezed the trigger. The dart flew towards Emma, and he loaded a new round.
-
Emma had stopped screaming and caught the sword when Mayu threw it. Emma turned to the beast that had charged her. It was still reeling in pain from the scream. Emma took the opportunity to disable it. She raised one of her swords... and felt a sharp pain in her stomach as the injector needle impaled her. She dropped the sword. Everything was spinning, pulsing as the images swam in front of her. Then, blackness.

Andrew shook himself, clearing his head. Emma was down, Mitch had made sure of that. Andrew looked around. Something wasn't right...

The blast took him completely by surprise. It was a split second, but that was all it took. A high-pitched sound wave, too high for human hearing, but in the golden zone for his. His vision went black, and he collapsed.
-
Mitch saw Emma go down. Then he saw Andrew go down. Then he saw two men and a woman in full combat armor walk out from the foliage. Their armor was black, the visors deep blue. One of the men had a big red cross painted onto his chest and shoulders, and he ran right over to the downed form of Emma. The other man held what Mitch thought was an over-sized boom-box. He figured that was what brought Andrew down.

The girl held a fully automatic, military issue Special Operations variant M-16B model. Longer barrel for accuracy, specialist scope for all-weather function, chambering a powerful 6.8mm round. Pointed right at him. Mitch slowly crouched down, set the gun on he forest floor, then started backing away. "Stop." The girl moved down to the scope. Mitch complied. Then, the medic spoke up. "She's fine. She'll be out of it for a bit, but she'll be fine." The girl grunted in acknowledgement. "You O.K. Mayu?"

"I think it's pretty funny how you can talk so normal against a demon like me. But I'm in a good mood so I'll tell you anyways." Subject 25 said to Alice, and Alice's eyes widened a bit. She hadn't noticed how straight forward she was being, and the fear suddenly came back in a wave of chills. She tried to focus on the work at hand, and it seemed to calm her back down. Alice wondered why this was, and listened to 25 while the fear subsided. "Taking control of subject 25 isn't that hard. In fact I can control her at any time I want but it is far easier to just control her when her emotions are building up. This is then also often when I try to take control of her... But... Controlling isn't the most difficult part... There are actually restrictions to what I can and can't do when I am using her body which is a huge bother to me..." 25 explained, and Alice simply nodded blankly, getting the elevator open and working on the next panel. Knowing 25's demon's restrictions wasn't on the top of Alice's priority list at the moment. She finished with the panel after a few minutes, and the lights ceased to flicker as they moved down. Thankfully, the elevator was still in the same condition as it was before the explosion, and made a silent trek down the shaft. Alice's power was exhausted, and the fear set in again. She sat on the side of the elevator farthest from 25 and broke into silent shivers, feeling the gun around and getting used to the metallic feeling before the doors opened. It was a slow ride, and they were only on the 5th floor. Maybe she didn't have enough power to fully charge the lift. Alice sighed, trying to vent the fear, and put the gun away with a shaking hand. The only thing she could trust completely was the book in her hands, and she felt it would be her lifeline as well as her ticket to survival.

After a long ride down, they reached ground level. When the door opened, the first thing which could be seen was the blood splattered walls and corpses scattered along the floor. Alice shrunk back a bit, but after a few seconds, gathered the courage to go to the elevator panel and suck up any remaining energy that was left in the controls. Energy pulsed between her fingers and the fear went away once more. Maybe my powers occupy my emotions? Alice thought, then shook her head. Now where would I come up with a reason like that... She thought, and lost herself in keeping the energy flowing. The second thing Alice saw was the entrance to the lab, all four layers of doorway blown down and to bits leading to the outside. "w-What happened here...?" Alice wondered aloud, the sense of fear not completely depleted just yet. Stepping over the bodies, she made her way to the front doors of the lab, put paused at one of the heavier armored soldiers. She dropped the pistol and picked up a strange looking gun which the man was holding before whatever happened. "What's this thing..." Alice held the Anti-Mutation Gun in her hands awkwardly because of its size and shape. It had a few settings on it for combating different kinds of mutants, and some settings were battery operated. Alice drained the gun of its power and slung it over her back for later, holding the Grimoire under her left arm. She looked toward the doorway, and waited for 25.

The ride down was slow and not much happened but it was to be expected from someone who only tried this the first time subject 25 guessed. But time was not what subject 25 noticed the most. It was the aura of fear coming from Alice what was more noticeable to subject 25... Subject 25 didn't say anything however. She just waited patiently for the elevator to arrive on the ground floor and once they arrived there and the door opened, subject 25 stood up again. "w-What happened here...?" Alice said while she was looking outside the elevator. When subject 25 followed her to what she was looking she could only see dead and destruction. "So she has helped them escape... Interesting." subject 25 said aloud while she took a few steps out of the elevator following behind Alice who had already walked quite a bit. "What's this thing..." subject 25 heard Alice say while she was holding an Anti Mutation gun. "A weapon for humans to fight us" subject 25 said coldly while she moved forward. Even though she loved the view she was a bit disappointed that there was almost nothing left for them to kill. Let's go. she said while she passed Alice and went outside. She was sure the real deal would be behind the escaped mutants. There subject 25 would have enough people to kill.

-------------------

As soon as Dr.Mayu gave Emma her sword back, Emma rushed towards the mutant who had attacked her. She hadn't seen however how Mitch had dropped himself to the ground and that he had shot in the direction of Emma. And just like expected before Emma could even attack the mutant in front of her, she fell down. First Dr.Mayu wanted to do something but then suddenly she stopped and started to smile. "Its over." she Whispered just before subject 22 also fell down and a small squad made themselves visible walking out of their hiding places. They immediately took aim at Mitch and Mitch quickly surrendered. The medic of the team went to Emma and said she would be fine and once she analyzed Emma she asked Dr.Mayu if she was ok. Dr.Mayu nodded. "I am for now... But it won’t take long before I am also going to collapse." she said while she took a few steps to Mitch. "Strong poison you used there... I am lucky I have people being able to slow down the progress of injections..." Dr.Mayu said after taking a few steps but still remaining on a fairly large distance from Mitch. "But my time... Has run out... Now... I'll see you... Later" she said before she collapsed on the ground.

"I have no reason to believe that subject 11 would do anything to harm me or my friends but, you better believe if she was to hurt anyone I loved I wouldn't just stand by and let it happen." Dorian said to subject 89 while he slowly took the lead. "So you would stand up against her even though you know she is far stronger than any of us?" subject 89 asked a little shocked. She had also heard the legend and rumors of the famous subject 11 and the rumors of her escape from the lab without any troubles. Some rumors even said that she was the strongest mutant there was and that she could be seen as an enemy for both humans and mutants. There was one thing subject 89 was sure of however. Subject 11 was without a doubt a lot stronger then subject 89 was.

"So she has helped them escape... Interesting." 25 said aloud to herself, but Alice didn't want to know who "she" was at this point. If 25 was bad, then whoever or whatever caused this blood bath had to have been even worse. Alice gripped the Anti Mutation gun so she could get a feel for it. "A weapon for humans to fight us" 25 had said. If bad came to worse and Alice had to fight "her", then this gun may be her only hope in defeating "her". Alice slung the AMG over her back and walked after 25 after she said "Let's go". Alice followed closely behind 25 as they were engulfed in the light of the sun. At first, Alice had to shield her eyes to get used to the brighter surroundings. Around her she saw more bloodshed and broken defensive barriers meant to keep the mutants inside in case of a breakout like this one. The building seemed much larger from the outside when she looked at it now. Climbing over more bodies, Alice made her way to the front gate leading out into the desert. "Didn't expect it to be so... Empty..." Alice said to herself as she almost tripped over another body. She looked down at it, and saw a blood trail leading from what looked like an outdoor armory. A metallic smelling red mist emitted near the doorway to it, and Alice shied away from it as she made her way toward the gate. As she crossed under the archway, she heard something charge up, like a trap. However, nothing seemed to happen afterwords. Looking around, Alice saw some sort of electric ray emitter above her, the nodes smashed to pieces and unable to create the near-deadly force field they once were able to make. Grabbing one, she recharged her powers, taking in almost too much to handle. Dropping back down, she brushed some dust from her hand. Both her arms glowed with the electricity flowing over them, and the imaginary field she was constantly thinking about was now visible. "Wow, what a rush... This feels great." Alice said, and walked onto the burning sand. "I can't see anything from here... Is this really what the world is like...?"

"Yes, I would stand up to her. My friends and family are all I have and the most important thing to me. Even more important than my father's book." he said gripping it's binding. "I would give my life so that all of you could live peacefully." he said turning to face her and looked her in the eyes. Dorian meant every word his tone was soft but full of assurance. His gaze wasn't harsh it was comforting and passionate. Dorian loved these people and was going to do all he could to get them safe.

Dorian looked up as Deri yelled back to him. "I don't know but she needs all the sleep she can get. At least we know she's not in to much pain being asleep." he yelled back trying to keep Deri's spirits up. "Deri! Have you met...what's your name sweetheart?" Dorian asked looking down at subject 89.

Subject 25 was amazed by the view once she walked outside the building. The destruction that was caused just looked endless. She couldn't help herself to start laughing again. "Beautiful." subject 25 said once she stopped laughing. "Didn't expect it to be so... Empty..." Alice said. "Indeed... I also thought that she would at least leave some bodies for us..." subject 25 said jokingly while she continued walking but it didn't take long for her and Alice to reach the gate of something what looked like an outdoor armory. Alice was the first one to get through the gate and as soon as she went ahead there was this strange noise. It was like there was going to be a trap but there wasn't... Soon subject 25 noticed the device above Alice's head but it didn't seem to work. Alice grabbed it and started researching her powers just for some sort of electric field around her to appear once she let go of the device. "Wow, what a rush... This feels great." Alice said and subject 25 just nodded and looked interested in this ability of her. "I can't see anything from here... Is this really what the world is like...?" Alice asked. "Don't worry this is just a desert... The real world is still a little bit farther than here." subject 25 said while nodding to herself. She hoped they would be able to encounter a city fast. There are enough people to kill in big cities after all.

"Yes, I would stand up to her. My friends and family are all I have and the most important thing to me. Even more important than my father's book. I would give my life so that all of you could live peacefully." Dorian said and subject 89 felt a little amazed. Subject 89 didn't know a lot of mutants but the mutants she knew were horrible people, cowards or dead already... And there weren't a lot who would have said the same thing as Dorian just said. Dorian's attention was taken by another member of the group a little later however. The person seemed to wonder when someone else from the group was going to wake up. "I don't know but she needs all the sleep she can get. At least we know she's not in too much pain being asleep." Dorian answered before he asked a question. "Deri! Have you met...what's your name sweetheart?" he asked subject 89. "The scientists used to call me subject 89 but... I was once called Alice..." She said a little hesitating mostly because the only person who called her by that name was her partner and her partner had passed away...

"Indeed... I also thought that she would at least leave some bodies for us..." 25 said, joking around about that person again. She seemed somewhat mesmerized about how much death had occurred in the area. "Don't worry this is just a desert... The real world is still a little bit farther than here." Subject 25 explained to Alice as they walked out the front gate. Alice had heard from other mutants that escape was near impossible, but seeing as how both she and Subject 25 were able to waltz out barely using their powers, Alice began to think otherwise. As they walked past the archway, she looked back at the bodies. She noticed one or two test subjects among the dead, and stopped for a moment. One of the dead test subjects was gripping a large piece of paper tightly, as if just holding it may have saved his life. Alice stopped, turned around and walked to the body. She knelt down, her electric field only a soft blur hugging her body now, and pried the hand open to retrieve the paper. Now holding the paper, Alice unfolded it and looked over the contents. It was a large map, standard issue for the guards to use in case they ever got lost while searching for mutants. "Hm... The people who escaped aren't going to get very far without this..." Alice thought out loud, and ran back to 25, giving her the map. There was a slight tingling of electricity between their fingers as Alice gave 25 the paper. "I found this on one of the bodies. We can use this to find our way around." Alice said. "Since you probably know more about this than I do... I think you should decide where to go." Looking closer at the map, there are routes marked for escape paths famously used among escapees, as well as routes to cut other routes off. Using this, it may be possible to outsmart the lab's traps and strategies. While she waited, Alice leaned on a nearby wall, reading the Grimoire as the sun set behind a sand dune. With the guards out of commission and reinforcements a long way off or trying to find the other escapees, there was much time to look over the map and decide which of the many routes to take.

Alice finished reading the first chapter of the Grimoire and closed it some time later. She looked back at her doll, which had been notoriously glued to her finger during lunch hour. Softly placing her finger back on the doll's neck, Alice began to play around with the doll, and figured out how to control the twine's length. She threw the doll around like a yo yo, letting the wiring make intricate shapes as she let it wrap between her fingers and untangle just as easily. It seemed 25 hadn't finished deciding what to do, so Alice looked back into her book to see if there was anything she missed. Her eyes narrowed at one part of the text, and looked back at her doll. Reading a paragraph or two, Alice plucked the twine twice and tried transferring power between her and the doll. The first time she tried, she transferred too slowly and tired herself out. The second time, the doll quite literally exploded in her face. The explosion was pure electricity however, and didn't do any harm to Alice. After a few more tries, she finally had gotten a smooth energy transfer to the doll and had even included it into her own energy field. She thought of raising the arm of the doll, and the doll lifted an arm. "Huh... Ha hah." Alice giggled, almost in a dull tone, and continued to move the doll's body parts to make it appear human. She even walked it over to 25, and plopped it down somewhere easy for her to see. It stared up at 25 with glowing blue eyes. Controlling it from a distance, Alice made the doll tilt it's head in a funny way, as if it were wondering how much longer it would take until 25 figured out where to go. However, deep inside, Alice was thinking that same question. It seemed the lab had just started recovering from what happened, and they didn't have much time now. "So..." Alice said, getting up from her wall and walking to 25. The doll tried doing the same thing without Alice knowing, and had instead rammed itself into a wall. It tried to keep walking, but to no avail. "Have you decided where we're gonna go?"

Andrew woke up back at the lab. He looked around. Well, shit. He wasn't in his old cell on the second floor. This was his new, fifth floor maximum security cell number three. He sighed. Titanium/steel alloying boxed him in. However, as he looked out of his cell, he saw Mitch walking out from test lab number two, flanked by two guards. Andrew closed his eyes. He was glad he hadn't had to hear the screams.
-
Mitch was shaking. He had been fine on the ride in, but now, he realized just how deep he had gone. He had just undergone excruciating tests, and would now be sent to the gathering space. He was a former guard. His shaking was a combination of shock from the experiment, and the realization that he didn't have the energy to use any kind of psionic powers without killing himself. He recognized the guards flanking him as the two males that had ambushed him and Andrew. His mind was racing, he didn't notice Andrew in the cell as he walked by it. They reached the elevator, and soon Mitch stepped into the Gathering Space.
-
Sam was milling about when the guards dropped off a mutant. The mutant attracted some attention in the form of a fist-fight, almost immediately after the guards left. The newbie was obviously exhausted, but he was quick on his feet, dodging each punch, and after a few minutes, the newbie took down his would-be attacker with a quick right cross. Then he walked off in Sam's general direction. Sam walked in front of the newcomer, who walked right past him. His shoulder brushed up against Sam's. He took another step, then stopped.
-
Mitch knew there was something up with the mutant behind him. In the brief moment when they made contact, something triggered in Mitch's brain. The mutant whispered something, almost inaudibly. Mitch picked it up loud and clear though. "Psion?" Mitch nodded slightly. "Psion." Mitch kept walking, but he knew he had found a potential ally.

"Oh okay!" Deri said and ran up to Dorian. "No, I havent." Deri said but smiled at the girl and held out his hand. "Hi, Im Derivare but Deri for short." He smiled brightly at her hoping she would like to be friends with him as well as Elizabeth.
