Personality

At first glance, like many first glances, not much accurate information is inferred from Elton. He comes across as a soft-spoken, slightly aloof, but sociable person. He seems like an easily likable person, with his laid back manner, polite words, go-with-the-flow behavior, and easy smile, with just a glint of mischief in his eyes. He handles stress quite well, and manages to keep his head on quite well in frantic situations. In reality, he is more sinister than he appears. He would often manipulate people in order to work for a heavily veiled goal that few know of. Anything, everything he does is for a purpose, and he is an extremely clear-headed, determined person who will stop at nothing to achieve this goal of his. He finds it hard to be empathetic towards others, and on the inside, appears quite cold. He's a huge flirt with the ladies, but when asked to consider a serious relationship, he would back off quickly. It is not sure why he does this. It is probably due to his unstable nature. He often would become bored, constantly going to new places, meeting new people, and trying new things in order to satisfy his wanderlust. He has no favorites. As soon as something becomes one, it is not long before he tires of it and moves on. Many people have known him, albeit for only a fleeting moment before he would disappear in the world again, soon to be forgotten by the very people who denied doing so. But sometimes, he would find somewhere that suited his interests for an extended period of time, and he would stay for a year, maybe two. He claims that he is searching for the perfect place for him, an ever-changing land where new things would come to him, rather than him seeking them.

Equipment

He doesn't carry much with him, since he company he works for provides all his essentials, including food costs, living quarters, hygienic products, and some spare change. He has a few magical trinkets, some of them actually quite powerful, though he hasn't found much use of them. He also carries a photograph of a girl around his age with maroon hair, a slim build, with large, teal eyes that seem to reflect the ocean. He keeps it close to him, and looks at it often when no one is around, hiding it from others. Some speculate that it's his lover, someone whom he truly cared for in a past life. Maybe that person is dead, maybe that person is missing, and some think that this girl is closely connected to his veiled goal, but who knows?

This section is probably the closest it'll come to his powers and abilities, so here they are.

Since he is a mage, he has the power to cast a great number of spells. They aren't extremely specified, but they usually deal with explosions, summoning of small things such as a cup across a room or lifting a person in the air, and image manipulation-or changing the appearance of other objects or people. His spells are usually wordless, often with an accompanying hand gesture. For very large spells, he would use magic circles and some substance as a form of “sacrifice”, such as blood, a stone, a piece of organic matter like a plant, along with incantations and gestures.

History

From what he has told others, he was born in a large farming family. His childhood was nothing special, with parents that cared more about his contribution to the farm rather than him as an individual. They thought of him, like the other children, as a growing tool that would take over the farm when they became unable to work, or, most likely, when they died. As a child, he was bored out of his mind of the monotonous, gray life he led, and he would often experiment with things in the tool shed, feeding the animals different things to see their reactions, which sometimes had unpleasant results (One such instance, he was responsible of the death of an old hen he decided to feed with some strange chemicals he found in the town waste bin.). Another instance, he permanently disfigured his vocal chords with a brew he made with mismatched things. Eventually, this led to the discovery of an exciting ability. Little did his parents know that their child had an uncanny talent with sorcery. He would often practice after hours under the sheets in the cramped room where he slept with 9 others. He managed to scrounge up enough money to buy an unwanted magic book when he turned 10, as a birthday present to himself. When he decided he was experienced enough, he went on the streets and did tricks for others for money. Gradually, he earned enough money to buy more books. It came to a point where he would start being the town's unofficial mage (he lived in a poor village, thus there were no wizards or mages that bothered to live there, for they were revered people in his country.), doing errands and tasks for modest pay. One day, a professor from a prestigious mage university happened to pass through his town, saw him as a student with a bright future, and granted him admission to the university. For eight years, he trained there, and grew to be the top of his class. The city newspapers expected a great career for this star student.

But suddenly, mysteriously, he disappeared right after graduation. Officially, no one knew where he had gone off to. It was as if he never existed. It was rumored that he joined a shady organization, for a reason to this day, no one knows.
