People tell me that I am:
Because of past events, Percy is wary of people at first. But once he gets to know them, he relaxes a bit more. He's often labeled a scardy cat because he will jump at even the slightest noise that wasn't expected. He will scream and run if someone sneaks up behind him. Paranoid is a good word for him. But a relaxed Percy is much different from the scared and timid one. Once you get him going on a topic he is comfortable with, he can rant and rant until you have to tell him to shut him mouth. It takes a lot to earn his trust, but he is willing to give it despite everything that has happened to him.

Back at home my life was: Percy grew up in a family of four. His mother, father and younger sister. His father worked long hours to pay for his mother's obsessive shopping habit though she didn't feel the need to work. This was why they were always broke. His little sister took after his mother and was just as lazy and felt the need to be pampered on hand and foot. His sister hated his guts to the point of where she would blame everything on him. His sister quickly became the angel of the house and he the demon. His school life was worse. He was outcasted by everyone and had only about three friends. Percy lived day after day trying to avoid people just to not get another bruise for his father to not have to worry about or for his sister to proclaim that he got in a fight at school. Through his high school years, the bullying got bad. He was once even stripped of his clothes and forced to run through the entire school while people were laughing at him just so that he could get his clothes back. Another time he was tied to a fence while the football jocks made punches at him and taunted him. No one helped. Not once. After the nth time of being told to kill himself... He did. He took a bunch of his father's sleeping pills. Took them and jumped off the dock that went to the lake just down the street. His body was found a week later. Only his father and few friends had been worried.

I am: role Boy #2

So begins...

Percy had woken up slowly, having to force himself out of the damn place he called a bed. But the thing is, he woke up around 2 AM in the morning, so he had been wandering the land for awhile now. He watched as people started to form around the water hole like animals. Percy wanted nothing to do with them... He wasn't all that great talking to girls anyways... He hadn't noticed that there was a person in the tree though. And to avoid the people on the ground he had ended up going to same way as the other boy.

Percy sat down on the ground, taking out a small deck of card he always kept on him. He had assumed that after he died, he'd be sent to Hell like everyone told him he would... Instead he was sent to this place with a bunch of others it seems... Great. More people... Exactly what he wanted. Please note the sarcasm.

Percy sighed softly as he shuffled the cards, trying to remember the card tricks that he had taught himself. He gave up and eventually just started to mentally play with the deck. When was he ever going to get out of here...?

Brass laughed when Ella Said the comment about dirty boys. He knew she didn't mean anything like that, and that's what made it so funny. Before he knew it, the young girl grabbed a hold of his arm and was dragging him towards the waterfall only to stop in front of Alex to ask her to join in as well. Brass took this opportunity to grab an apple and take a bit out of it. He knew Alex wouldn't be down to climb up, so he decided to get a headstart up the rocky hill.

He knew this island better than most, and even before on earth he was very experienced with the outdoors. He made little effort finding good footing on the rocks beneath his feet as he began his climb. He had to hold the apple in his mouth as he climbed. Brass didn't bother with the easier path that had less loose rocks and a more horizontal walkway. It wasn't that difficult of a climb until he got closer to the top where the rock haven't decided whether or not they're strong enough to hold his weight.

Once at the top, Brass moved closer to the edge of the waterfall. He wasn't going to jump just yet, he was waiting to Ella to catch up. Brass took another bite from the apple as he looked out into the island. The wind was stronger up here but he didn't mind it. Out by the treeline he could see J's tree. And there was someone else there as well. Brass had to squint to see who it was, Percey. It didn't look like the two kids knew the other one existed. This made Brass smile as he looked on.

But the smiled quickly vanished as he noticed movement in the bushes not far from where the boys were at. His first instinct was to protect Percy from the inevitable animal attack but before his feet could take off in that direction, his eyes made out the outline of a human. A woman, not El, he's never seen her before... This unnerved him more than he expected.

Jay watched inquisitively as Brass arrived. He felt the male's eyes brush past him a few time, but he was too far away to really tell what they were talking about. When Brass and Ella started to climb the rocks he saw a path for his own exit, though Alex didn't seem like she was going to move. He stood, bare heels balancing on the wide branch. He was still watching Brass carefully, judging his own movements off the other's careful climbing. At the top of the waterfall they weren't too far away from his tree. The male was smiling, but his eyes were past him. Who was he looking at. J followed the older male's sightline and spotted Percy lower down on the tree. Well, maybe he could stay for a little while. He liked Percy alright. He reminded J of a feral animal, who time had made timid.

Looking past Percy he spotted movement in the underbrush. Quickly he whirled his head around to Brass, seeing if their leader had noticed the threat. There was a frown on the defined man's face. Oh, that wasn't good. He took a few steps farther out on his branch, forgetting that it was starting to bend under his weight. When it started to snap he hastily jumped to a tree a little ways away, catching a branch about ten feet down from his original branch with both hands. It bent until his feet landed on the branch below it.

From there he had a decent path back to the ground. He wasn't much in a fight, his body was built to flee, but Percy was there. And many he was a little curious to see what kind of animal was out there, making such a rustle. Enough to make Brass frown like that. So J jumped down again, catching branches on his decent to slow himself down until he was only about fifteen feet from the ground. From there the plush grass caught him. He waved at Percy, settling down a little ways away from the younger male, between the moving bushes and the boy.

Ella was far away from him now, so he could stay for a little while. He wasn't in the mood to talk to her right now. Or, well, listen to her talk really. It was hard to get a word in edgewise with that girl. Speaking of girls though, the only one not around was Elspeth. She must have remained in the camp, or gone off on her own. His eyes darted back to the underbrush for a second. Maybe it would be best if he took Percy with him now, curiosity be damned. He couldn't make anything out in the gloom of the deeper forest, but his eyes had never been that good anyway.

Sitting cross-legged in the grass he leaned over to Percy. "Hey, have you eaten yet?" He asked, nodding towards the bridge. He attempted a small smile, which turned out pretty well in his opinion. He cast a glance behind him, then continued. "I'm heading that way if you want to come with?"

Percy jumped sky high when he heard moving above him only to find that it was another person. He had ended up spilling his cards everywhere on the ground and scrambled to pick them up. He watched J as he seemed to look around in the dense of the forest around them. He was hoping that the male didn't notice him. Damn... He did. He waved though... Which was very odd for Percy... No one waved at him.

What really surprised him was that... He talked to him. Not to sound weird or anything... But usually when people talk to him it had to do solely with the fact that they were throwing insults at hims or something kinda pathetically sad like that. Percy avoided eye contact with the boy, wondering if this were a joke. Simply an old habit. He found it very hard to trust no matter how well he knew them... "N-No... I kinda... Um... I lost track of time... Since I've been awake... And kinda forgot." Percy admitted shyly. He'd been up for a long while now... And it just came to him how hungry he actually was.

He did notice J's small smile and that actually helped to relax him a bit. J was probably the easiest to get along with in his book. Percy tried to give a smile back, but in his book it probably failed. "Um... Yeah... That'd be nice." Percy whispered. He, not being a very observant one had no idea why J had even been looking around in the brush for the supposed wild animal. Nor had he noticed that Brass was indeed looking at something. "Are... Are the others there?" He added, trying to make some sort of attempt at conversation.

Percy responded shyly, and Jay nodded. "I do that too sometimes." He agreed. The most he knew about bullying came from books and television, he hadn't spent enough time around other kids his age to be properly bullied, but he recognized the skittishness. What had the poor kid gone through before taking his own life? Sometimes J felt like his own end had been much more petty than some of the pain he'd seen here, but he wouldn't renege his decision. 'Life' was better here. Even if sometimes he wished he had more time to himself. The freedom was heady and things were generally calm, even with the ominous movement in the forest behind him.

He stretched, flicking grass of his torso, as Percy spoke again. He saw an attempt at a smile, so he smiled again, trying to be reassuring. The shyness was endearing in a way. J felt a strong urge to protect the boy, even if no one here really needed protection from this paradise of a world. Maybe because he could identify with the shy boy? Or because his personality was easy to get along with? Whatever it was, he was okay with it as long as he wasn't bothering Percy.

"Brass and Ella are up there." He said, pointing up at the top of the waterfall. "Alex is there." he pointed at her. She was actually walking towards the place where he'd seen the rustle. He hesitated for a second, wondering if he should stop her, but she could take care of herself. He had full faith in that. And Brass could save her if something went wrong. Her boyfriend was very good at that. "But I dunno where Elspeth is." He paused for a moment, rising and standing with his hands folded against his back. "Oh, there goes Ella." he mumbled, watching her form arc down into the pool below.

He reached out, offering a non-compulsory hand to the boy if he wanted to take it. "Let's get moving before..." He said, his voice trailing off as a spine chilling scream tore through the air. J straightened immediately, but didn't look around right away, holding his breath instead. Ella went racing by them, spraying cold water everywhere in her wake.

Then he heard Alex speak, something that sounded a lot like 'Who are you?' Ah, it was a new person. He or she must have looked at sight or really surprised Alex to elicit such a response. J watched Brass for a few seconds, he was the leader, and he would probably give the girl the grand tour. Should he stay to welcome the new person or split with Percy?

Maybe the best course of action would be to ask the boy. "You want to split or see what's up with the new arrival?" He asked in a low voice, keeping his expression calm and trying to relax his tensed posture. His body still wanted to flee from the loud scream, but he was trying his hardest to master the instinct. He was perfectly fine meeting the guy or girl later, it really didn't matter to him, though he was curious. But he'd extended previous options to Percy, and the boy was more important than any new person.

Percy looked around the place as J pointed out the others. He was looking for them when he noticed a hand reached out and simply stayed there for a bit for Percy to take if he decided to. He was startled when Ella sped by them, splashing water everywhere. What the hell? His eyes followed the girl and fell on the other one... Okay... Weird... Maybe they were playing a prank... Or something?

Apparently, J believed that a new arrival was there. "Um... Is it really... Are you sure someone's there?" He asked lamely, pushing himself up onto his feet and putting the deck of cards into his pocket. Percy had to admit... He was... a bit curious about the supposed new person.

"Well... Maybe we should make sure that... Alex isn't in danger... I wouldn't be much help... But if she needed it... Well then it would be nice to have it..." Percy offered, knowing that not everyone was good. And so if the girl needed help and they had left, then she would have to fight by herself. And being alone when it trouble was not a pleasant experience. And Alex hadn't exactly been cruel to him...

Brass watched with intrigue as he witnessed Alex make first contact with the unsuspecting victim. He loves that girl, but her lack of people skills makes for a poor ambassador for the island. He was pleased to see Ella, who had already jumped down, rush over to the commotion without having to say a word to her. She was a bit much to handle at times, but she was very predictable. Unlike Jay who seemed to care less about the situation unfolding.

The young man began walking down the side of the cliff as he thought about how Jay reminded him of one of his fellow Marines back on earth. His mind continued to wonder briefly as he suspected that one is naturally drawn towards strangers that remind them of people they once knew. He forced his mind to snap back into reality as he approached the small group that was forming. Still, he couldn't help but wonder who this new girl was going to remind him of.

Brass stopped in a very military manner once he reached the women, if you could call Ella that, and measured to new girl. "Welcome to Infinity Island, It's paradise. A second chance for people who've committed suicide." Brass answered simply. "Of course you met Ella, she's usually a lot drier. This is Alexandrea, Alex for short. She is my girlfriend." He said, briefly putting his arms around her. "And my name is Atlas, but please don't call me that, I go by Brass, as in the metal."

He glanced over to the direction where Jay and Pierce at, but they were well out of line of sight. Brass returned his attention to the women around him. "If you're hungry we have food. Dying can make you starved."

Jay nodded, his ears alert to the sounds of calmer voices floating from the direction of the scream. Brass hurried past them as well. Jay paused for a moment. Percy offered a slow decision, and Jay nodded again. "Okay, let's go check it out then." He said. For a second he tried to reach out to grab the other's hand, then hesitated and shoved his hand in his pockets instead. Pulling people around was rude. He forgot that often. Even though he'd lived here a while, being around people that he couldn't boss around was still a little strange. He tried his best not to be a spoiled brat. It was getting easier to succeed in that respect. Especially since he spent so much time on his own, doing as he pleased. It took off some of the pressure.

He picked up his pace to a brisk stride, circling around the brush until the group was in his line of sight again. He glanced back to see if Percy was follow him as he neared. Alex and Brass looked to be busy...kissing, and Jay noticed a look of slight discomfort on Ella's profile. Then the couple broke apart, and Ella chirruped something. As he drew nearer, they began to turn around, likely headed back to the swimming hole. He heard his name, coupled with Percy's name, and then an unfamiliar name. Grace? It had to be the name of the girl.

He studied said girl, a blonde. She looked to be older than Ella, but younger than Brass. Maybe the same age as Alex? Looks could be deceiving though, he himself looked years younger than he actually was, looking closer to 17 than 21. How had she died? Most of the people on the island kept to themselves, but that didn't stop J from wondering. While not upfront with any information about himself, he had no problem talking about his death. It had been a resolution, taking him somewhere better. With people he could tolerate most of the time, and talk to if he needed to. And no expectations weighing heavily on his shoulders. He hoped the girl would like it here. Some, like Percy still seemed ill at ease, even in this place, but others had taken to it right away. It said a lot about their demons, even if they never explicitly said what happened to them.

Somehow he needed to catch the group's attention. Ella had said his name to Brass, and Brass had looked at him earlier, so obviously their leader knew where they were. Or where they had been. Wordlessly he lifted a hand in the air, trying, for once, not to blend into his surroundings, and catch the attention of the others. Mostly for Percy. Yeah, new people were great and all, but his interest wasn't more than a mild curiosity. Especially at this early hour. So he just waved calmly, rising up on the balls of his bare feet. The sun was doing a better job of making it past the trees now, and warmth was splayed across his tan skin where the dew had previously chilled him.

Brass was a little surprise by Alex as she kissed him. He couldn't help but smile knowing Alex was claiming her territory. Her jealousy was not his favorite aspect of their relationship but at times it was adorable, like a child in the playground that's not willing to share their favorite toy. But something the new girl said caught his attention, forcing him to pull away from his girlfriends affections. Never wanted to die? Brass didn't like the look she was broadcast across her face.

The dead marine kept his eyes on Grace as Jay appeared into sight, no doubt to be followed by Percy. He would have brushed away what she had said as denial if it wasn't for her facial expression. Does this bitch think she's better than us? And when she opened her mouth again, her words were like gunfire.

"Leave?! You can't leave this place. The dead don't come back to life." He raised his voice without noticing it. He fully let go of Alex by now, drawing all his attention towards the new girl. "Look," he said more calmer now, "I get that you're a little scared and maybe confused right now. And why or however you killed yourself is frankly none of our business. If you need time to come to terms then we can give that to you." as he said that he put his hand on Ella's shoulder, knowing she would get the hit to back off. The girl was young and naive, but she wasn't stupid.

Brass continued to calm down. The young man tried not to judge this train-wreck of a woman standing in front of him. He never really knew what it was like to die and suddenly be surrounded by a bunch of strangers. He had what seemed like months of solitude before the others came, and even then he wasn't keen on sharing his story to them. From what he could tell, he opted for a rather violent way to exit compared to most. Still, something about this woman was bothering him.

Percy watched the girl in silence, growing a bit curious of her. He listened to the story that she tried to give Brass and ask how to get home. Brass was blunt and told her that it simply was not possible. Which was true. And why would she want to come back to life? Well... She supposedly fell in front of a train.. Or more likely, jumped in front of it. 'cause this was a place of suicide... Not accidents. How does one actually fall in front of a train, exactly? Percy was to curious to stay quiet.

"Um... Excuse me... But... How do you... Accidentally fall in front of a train?" He asked, his voice getting softer the more that he spoke. He didn't ask his question of why she wanted to go back though. He knew that people had their reasons. And if it was indeed an accident then she must have had a loving family and worthwhile life. Unlike him, or maybe some of the people here.

Though Percy had spoken to the girl, he was mostly hidden behind J. He liked to keep a fair distance away from people. New or old. There were just some more than others that he was comfortable with.

As Alex released Brass from her romantic hold, Ella piped up, expressing her desire to go eat. She took Grace by the hand and pulled her towards the swimming hole, as if she were best friends with this girl. It took a while for Alex to get used to Ella's overly-friendly persona and even now, she still barely let Ella lay a hand on her. Grace didn't let Ella lead her to the food though, and instead spoke up about how she didn't commit suicide but actually accidentally fell in front of a train. Alex didn't believe that for a second. God or whoever it was that controlled the afterlife didn't make mistakes, right? If she was here, she must have killed herself. Alex figured that she was just embarrassed about it or something. She had to admit though, it was strange that someone who just killed herself would want to go back. Alex figured that she might be one of those people who did it on a whim and didn't think it through. If that was the case, Alex did feel a little bit bad for her. She was probably someone who could have gotten better with some therapy or medicine.

It didn't surprise her that Brass raised his voice when Grace asked about leaving. This was their home. It was paradise. If a place like this existed on Earth, people would pay thousands of dollars just to visit. They were given the opportunity to live on this beautiful island with no responsibilities or repercussions. For the rest of eternity they would remain young and free of all of the problems that plagued them in the real world.

What was maybe even more shocking than Grace showing up, was Percy speaking up and asking Grace how she "accidentally" fell in front of a train. The kid rarely ever spoke and it was even more surprising that he would do it when everyone was around. He made a good point though. How much of a klutz did she have to be to fall off of a train platform? And to stay down there long enough for a train to crush her? It didn't make sense to Alex, but she didn't comment on it.

Her attention moved away from Grace as she glanced around. She was no longer in the mood to go for a walk and figured that she'd go eat with Ella, like she had suggested earlier. "Come on Ella, let's go eat."

Leaving? As soon as he'd drawn within earshot he'd heard the new arrival say that she wanted to leave. Why would anyone want to leave? Brass reacted with initial anger, which J mirrored, folding his arms over his chest. He felt Percy appear behind him. If it was anyone else he would have moved to the side, let them have an equal footing, but he knew that if Percy wanted to be out in the open he'd move there himself. Or maybe it was just him feeling a little over protective of the younger. Brass seemed to calm down a little bit, his voice lowering. On some level, J could understand the woman's panic and desire to go back. This could be a frightening experience. Especially such an abrupt death as being hit by a train. Some people had regrets, but once she thought things over she'd probably realize she wanted to stay.

Suddenly Percy spoke up, which surprised J, as well as some of the others, judging by facial expressions. He offered Percy a smile over his shoulder. He had a valid point. How did someone accidentally fall off a train station? J had heard some strange stories second-hand from his tutor about his parent's patients, but never one that strange. And he knew that a lot of people tried to validate their actions, or blow them off when faced with other people. For some, image is everything.

Maybe he should speak up. Usually in groups this large he kept his mouth shut, but there were times to supplement the conversation. And perhaps this was one of them. Or maybe he should just do what Brass subtly requested and leave. Or both. "We all went through this, so we understand what you're going through." He said in his soft low voice. "If you need someone to talk to..." He trailed off with an attempt at a friendly looking smile. Then he turned around to Percy and make a gesture with his head.

"Let's go eat. Give her some time to process." He said in an even softer voice to the young male, keeping the smile up. His mind was in turmoil though, dredging up thoughts of an unpleasant past. He couldn't actually remember the first moment he'd woken up here. Just the sensation of loosing his breath, loosing consciousness, then soft warmth, like a blanket over his face. He wasn't always in the mood to hang out with the others, but he loved them all. He wouldn't want to spend eternity anywhere else than this beautiful place. A burst of fear roiled in his belly at the thought of going back. Facing the years of neglect and the disappointed faces. They were better off without him. He was just a burden. A stupid burden. And this was everyone was happy.

But in all honestly, he didn't know much about going back. It had never crossed his mind. He knew that Brass had strong feelings about it, but he'd never given it any serious thought. Why would he need to? It was better here anyway. J began to head in the same direction as Ella and Alex, casting a glance over his shoulder to see if Percy was going to follow him.

#, as written by British
It surprised Ella when Grace said that she hadn't committed suicide but she figured that maybe she was in denial. When she was on Earth, before committing suicide, Ella was the last person who would ever have thought that she would have killed herself. In fact, she, like many other people, saw people who committed suicide as being crazy. Her upbringing wasn't easy; she was transferred from foster home to foster home more times than she could remember. On top of that, her academic disability made it difficult for her to make friends. With no friends and no stable family, growing up wasn't necessarily easy, but Ella never suffered from depression or anything that would indicate that she would kill herself before the rape occurred. Maybe something like that happened to Grace, Ella figured.

Brass placed his hand on her shoulder as he explained to Grace that dead people don't come back to life, signaling to her to back off a bit. Ella did so, taking a step away from Grace just as she heard a voice from behind her. Spinning around, she spotted J with Percy standing behind him, asking Grace how she had managed to kill herself on accident. J and Percy were both pretty quiet, but then again, so were most people compared to Ella. It didn't bother her though; she enjoyed being able to control the conversations when she was around them.

Ella was interested in hearing Grace's response too, but before she could, Alex spoke up, telling Ella to come eat with her. While she did want to stay and get to know Grace, she figured that Brass was right- they should give her some time to get used to Infinity on her own. Besides, Ella didn't want to give Alex any additional reasons to be angry, so she followed Alex towards the swimming hole. She sat down where Alex had been sunbathing earlier, grabbing a piece of fruit that she had left there. "Why do you think she wants to leave?" Ella asked.

When Brass claimed that there was no way to leave this place, Grace felt like crying or screaming, or maybe both. She was trapped here. Trapped here with a bunch of strangers who were crazy enough to think that she would actually want to kill herself, and even worse, crazy enough to kill themselves. As much as Grace wanted to pin them as maniacs though, they seemed, for the most part, to be normal people.

As Grace opened her mouth to respond to Brass, to restate that she did not kill herself and didn't need any time to get used to this place because she wasn't planning on staying here, another boy spoke up. As she spun around to match the voice to a face, she spotted the boy standing behind another one. The speaker appeared to be in his late teens and although he seemed harmless, Grace couldn't help but to take offense when he questioned how she died. "How did I accidentally fall in front of a train? I was waiting for it to arrive so I could go to work and I was walking around ne-" she began, before realizing that although her story was true, it probably didn't sound like the most believable accident. "You know what?" she said, "it doesn't ever matter. I never wanted to die and I need to get out of here. There has to be a way to leave this place." She kept her focus on Brass, who appeared to know the most about this place, as the other four turned and headed back in the direction that they came from.

Brass didn't look away from Grace as Percy Spoke up. The young leader had a brief urge to Pat Percy on the back for bringing up a good point, but quickly remembered how easily startled the kid gets. The signs of abuse was apparent, so Brass tried to tread lightly around the kid. He watch the new girls response closely as she failed to explain What had happened. By this time everyone was moving on, but Grace still insisted that she needed to find away to leave.

The young man was done trying to get through to her. She would find out eventually, "There's no way off this Island. I'm sorry." And with that he turned his back to her. Brass knew that the first night was going to be hard for her, but she seemed like the stable sort. "When you're ready, our camp is further down by the beach." He added, looking back at Grace. His eyes followed the curves of her figure and stopped at her facial features; the woman was attractive, if she wasn't a little unhinged at the moment. "And If your hungry, there's food." Brass turned and headed over to the watering hole, only to stop just short of it as he looked out into the forest; he was going to need to build another hut. The Marine started gathering large sticks off the ground.

Percy was actually a bit shocked, yet happy to find that no one shot his idea down. There was no: "Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about." or "Oh please. Did you even think before you spoke?" Instead, people seemed to take his words into consideration. That fact that people were shocked he spoke might have killed some of the disagreement factor, but still. He's spoke... And there was no consequences. At least not any that he saw.

Once Percy got his answer, he quickly followed after J. He had the balls to speak once, twice was pushing it. He still didn't believe her. But it was best to not bring her down more. If it was an accident, then it was an accident. But she would not be here then. Oh well. Percy glanced behind him once but otherwise kept up behind J silently.

To tell the truth. The fact that J was as quiet as he, made him less anxious. With people who were loud and happy 24/7 or even girls, he honestly could not handle very well. So the fact that he had spoken to Grace at all even shocked him. Percy stared down at the ground to make sure that he didn't trip like he had done 10,00 times before. Forests we not exactly his forte.

Percy silently thought to himself. Grace had honestly wanted to go home. He wished he knew that feeling. Quite frankly, he was sure that his parents and sister didn't even know he was dead until a couple days later when his body must have been found. And then the people at his school... They must have celebrated. What had he done to deserve that anyways? Percy always asked that question to himself. He could not see why he was so hated by everyone including his own family...

The boy's mood quickly dropped as he continued to dwell on the past. He was dead now... He shouldn't care anymore... His parents and family and classmates were happier now...

As Alex glanced over her shoulder to make sure that Ella was following, she noticed that J and Percy were also headed back towards the swimming hole. That left Brass alone with Grace, which obviously didn't go over well with Alex. However, she didn't want to seem like she was desperate for Brass' attention. Sure, Grace was pretty, but that wouldn't change what she had with Brass. At least she tried to convince herself of that as she took a seat next to Ella and grabbed a piece of fruit. It was a struggle for her to restrain herself from glancing over her shoulder to try to get a peek at what her boyfriend and Grace were doing, but then Ella redirected her attention, asking why she thought Grace wanted to leave. It was a valid question that Alex guessed they were all wondering.

"I don't know," she replied, taking a small bite out of the fruit. "She's probably just in denial or something..." she continued, turning her head to look at Percy and J. "What do you two freaks think? Why does Barbie want to leave so badly?" In all honesty, Alex did have no idea why Grace wanted to leave but part of her hoped that there was some secret way to leave the island without them all agreeing to leave. Things had been going well before just a few minutes ago. Alex was living a nearly stress-free afterlife existence and now this boyfriend-stealing princess was going to ruin that.
