Chloe Herd's Story

Finally, she was free! Free of that ongoing nightmare, if only she could wake up. "Are you okay?" she heard, but she couldn't reply, her lungs where too polluted. Chloe wheezed and coughed as the soot and smoke cleared from her lungs, "I don't know what happened.." she gasped for air as the came to a stop at a safe distance from the fire, "One minute I was with Don...then the next...Don" she double over, panting with one arm still rested on the mans shoulder. Once she had gained her breath and her eyes where no longer strewn with tears, Chloe studied her rescuer, he was a tall, slim man with dark hair and handsome features, "Thank you" she sighed, smiling slightly as she wiped the blackening soot off of her face with the back of her hand.

They finally found a safe range, and almost everything was well. "I don't know what happened.." she had muttered. "One minute I was with Don... the next... Don." Logan studied her face as she caught onto her own breathe. He noticed the tears clearing on her light tanned face. "Thank you," she had sighed, smiling a bit.
Logan grinned at her. "No problem." He looks over her shoulder, and around them two. "Are there others that need to be rescued? Were you the only one?"

Chloe shook her head, all she could see through the flames was burning furniture and crumbling ruins of the restaurant, no other people where inside. "No... nobody else2 Chloe stood herself upright and put her hand over her forehead, she had a temperature, "Oh god.. how will I explain this to my parents? Oh and my students are gonna be so mad if I show up late tomorrow!" Chloe sighed again, going over things in her head to try and sort them over, but she couldn't. Then one more thing came across her mind, "....How come I've never seen you around? Are you new here?"

"Oh!...Oh!" Chloe held her head in her hands and stumbled around in a small circle whilst making aggravated noises, "Ah shit... could this get any worse?" Chloe stopped in her tracks, took a deep breathe and turned to face the man. "Hi.." she stuck out her hand a plastered a wide smile on her face, despite what had happened just a few moments ago, "I'm Chloe Herd... your surfing instructor.." Chloe hid her eyes beneath her fringe at the last part, this wasn't the right way to meet a student.

Logan looked her in the eyes. She is going through so much, better not try to make it worst on the pretty woman.. He'd thought to himself. "Hi.." She had said to him. She stuck out her small and delicate hand to him. "I'm Chloe Herd... your surfing instructor.." She had told him. Logan grinned at her hiding face. He finally put his hand out, and shook it delicately. "Hello. I'm Logan. Nice to meet you, Chloe." He observed her face for a second. "You look pretty young to be an instructor, don't you think?" He'd said, with the grin still locked on his face

Logan laughed. "I agree. Tonight has been rough." He took in a deep breath and couldn't help but notice the glistening sea, shinning against the setting sun. "Wow." He'd whispered. He'd hadn't seen water like this before.... Not from this perspective.
"Where do you suggest we stay?" He'd ask, focusing back onto Chloe.

Logan couldn't believe how pretty and smart Chloe was... It was really hard to find girls like her back in Puerto Rico. Suddenly, the two both remembered to call the fire department! Logan had left his phone in his cabin, so Chloe called them on her phone. After she relaxed, she turned back to him. "Thank you... for saving my life.." Then she placed her soft lips on his cheek, and walked off that night. Logan couldn't help but grin. He watched her as she went out of sight, just to make sure she was alright. He tucked his hands in his pockets, and looked over the now quiet woods. He let out a huge sigh, and went back to his cabin. What a welcome.

On his way to his cabin, he heard a voice. "Hello? Is anyone around?" soft and obviously confused voice had said. Logan looked around and detoured around his cabin to find a wondering female. He walked over to her, and tapped her on the shoulder. "Um? Miss?" He'd asked.

The minute Chloe got into the tub, her whole body relaxed, her muscles dropped and splayed out, filling the tub as the water blanketed her whole body. For a moment, she just laid there, her head resting against the back on the tub and her fingers tapping against her thigh, playing along to the beat of one of her favorite songs, 'Cry me a river'. After ten minutes or so, Chloe was washed and shaven and out of the tub, with enough time to dry her hair and get some clothes on. Once she had gotten her clothes on and her hair dried Chloe laid back on her bed and let out a big sigh, brushing off what had happened earlier and how she was going to figure out what had happened in between her consciousness. Then she heard a loud, "Ca caw!" from down the road, and she instantly knew it must be some teenagers messing around.. "Shit!" Chloe bolted upright, grabbed the keys to her cabin and her phone and ran out of the front door, not even caring about her parents who had asked what was wrong. "Ah shit, they must be there already!" Chloe said to herself. What a day, there's a fire at her favorite restaurant, Don disappears, she is rescued by one of her campers and THEN she forgets about the other students who where due to come by this afternoon! "Stupid, stupid stupid!" she calls out to herself as she runs over to her hut on the beach, she sees the other students talking and decides to sneak around the back to her hut and grab the clip board she had of names and cabin numbers.

Chloe took a deep breath and walks out of her hut and towards the group, clipboard in hand and two cabin keys in the other. "Hello gang!" She called as she got closer, "I'm Chloe Herd, your instructor..You must be the new students, sorry I'm late.." she shakes the hand of the two newcomers and nods politely to Logan, of whom she has already met. Chloe assumed they where already friends since they had been laughing and chatting before she got there. "Now, can you give me your names and I'll sort out your living arrangements for your stay.." She smiled sweetly, hoping to god they wouldn't be pissed at her for turning up late.

(Hey guys, sorry about taking a long time to post, it's just that a week ago I was in hospital and I was prescribed some painkillers which make me sleep a lot so I haven't been on in a few days. But I'm back now and to say sorry I've given you an EXTRA long post!)

"Yeah, I see what you mean," "I know, right? I just can't wait until we get on the water! It's one of the two things I live for!"

"That's cool. You know, I used to play guitar myself," James had said, playfully flipping the collar of his red plaid button up. "I used to be a pro." He looked at Alix, and playfully winked at her.
Alix laughed and tossed her long hair over her shoulder, playfully winking back. "Good to know, maybe we can jam out sometime?" Alix laughed. Then she heard a woman's voice.

"Hello gang! I'm Chloe Herd, your instructor..You must be the new students, sorry I'm late.." Chloe seemed out of breath, but still shook their hands, except Logan's. "Now, can you give me your names and I'll sort out your living arrangements for your stay.."
Alix went up to her first. "Nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Alix, Alix Sumter." Alix smiled at the instructor. She wasn't a suck-up, but she didn't enjoy instructors disliking her, especially for something like this, something she loved more than anything.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Alix, Alix Sumter." Alix smiled at the instructor.

"Alix... Sumter.." Chloe mumbled, scanning the list on her clipboard. "Ah!, Cabin number 2! Excellent! Great view on the ocean from there, especially at night, it's so beautiful" Chloe sighed and smiled, handing Alix the key to Cabin number 2. She then turned to the tall boy who was standing by Alix, "And your name is?"

Logan
Logan smiled, and then from a distance he saw Chloe re appearing from the gates. He stayed silent, but occasionally glanced at her.

James
Alix winked back at James. "Good to know, maybe we can jam out sometime?" Alix said. Then, a random woman's voice had came from behind them all. A woman who'd claimed to be their counselor, asked for their names. Alix greeted her nicely and respectfully. She had been staying in cabin 2. "And your name is?" Chloe had said to James. Logan stood next to James, who looked confused. Logan nudged James and whispered, "Tell her your name..."
"Of course." James said. "James McNair. Nice to meet you Misses Herd." It was weird to James, because it felt like he was speaking to his little sister. But he said nothing, as she continued.

"Ah!, Cabin number 2! Excellent! Great view on the ocean from there, especially at night, it's so beautiful" "Perfect," Alix said with a smile as she took the key to Cabin 2.

Then she saw James looking confused then heard Logan whispering "Tell her your name..." to him and she couldn't hide the giggle that broke through.

Logan

Logan thought, and looked over at Alix. "Lucky you. Ocean view cabins are the best." He'd said, grinning at Alix.
Logan sighed, and looked over the cabin key in his hands. He then clenched the key in his palm, and looked over at James, who was in a totally different mode than before. "I'd love to come by your cabin and maybe view the ocean, considering we have a sappy view." James had said, lifting one eye brow as he spoke to Alix. Logan could tell he was trying something there. He decided to leave that to him.
It was going on 8:00, and things were about to settle down... But Logan wasn't ready for that just yet. He wanted to hand out with Chloe... maybe give her a surprise visit in her cabin? Logan pursed his lips as he thought over several things.

James
"I'd love to come by your cabin and maybe view the ocean, considering we have a sappy view." James laughed. He thought Alix was cool people. He wasn't the flirting type, simply because he never mastered the skill... but it was a working progress. He didn't have many female friends. Alix looked like a pretty girl... but James was the obnoxious type. He was the one kid who teased the little girls in 3rd grade.

It had taken Chloe a long time to sort things out, but she had come up with a solution. Chloe got up off her bed and grabbed her phone as she signed from the heat.Tonight wasn't one of the hottest nights but her ankles felt like they where one fire so she checked the damage, nothing but a few swelling blisters but that would mean she could still surf, which was good. She dialed a number and let it ring until she heard a voice come from the other end, she took a deep breath and spoke, "Donny... where are you?"

Rosie

As the night settled Rosie flickered through pictures of herself and Chloe. Ever since she met Chloe they have been great friends. Then she remembered that Chloe had a date tonight and she wanted the juicy details. Rosie picked up her phone and dialed Chloe's number before holding it to her ear and waiting for an answer, "Hey Chlo! Tell me EVERYTHING! Is he cute? Did you kiss!?"

Chloe

"Fuck.. answer phone." Chloe sighed and cancelled the call, only just then her phone vibrated and Rosie's face appeared on screen, she clicked accept and put the phone to her ear, "Hello?"

Chloe
Sigh. Chloe stood and spied through the window as she unwound all of the nights events on Rosie. "There was a fire or something.. I think I got hit on the head, I fell unconscious and when I woke up I was tied to a tree and the whole place was up in smoke!" She stopped to listen to what Rosie had to say as she watched through the bead curtain that covered the window. James and Alix seemed to be having fun by the water and Logan was moving around inside his cabin with a girl who she'd never seen before... or had she? Chloe had a perfect view of all cabin up to the fourth so she could monitor any thing going on. That girl... who was she? "Rose, come over to the camp for the night, I think the new trainee instructor has just arrived"

Rosie
"A fire! Oh my god Chlo, are you alright? Where was Don?" Rosie jabbered on about health and safety as she paced about her room, palm on her forehead, deeply in thought. Then Chloe's voice cut in,"Rose, come over to the camp for the night, I think the new trainee instructor has just arrived" which startled her for a second, but she nodded. "I'll be there in ten minute, tops" Rosie said just before snapping her phone shut. She grabbed her helmet and keys then left the house. Once she got outside she jumped onto her bike, fastened the helmet straps and revved the engine, speeding down the road and up to the beach, counting the people there as she pulled off her helmet, "Wow, are they ALL students?"

Chloe

As she heard the door to Logan's cabin slam shut Chloe had already locked the door to her own cabin and made her way across the sand. "Don't stay up too late, you two!" Chloe called to Alix and James whom seemed to be having a great time in the water. She gave them a cheeky grin and made her way towards Logan's cabin where the girl was.

Rosie

By the time Chloe had locked the cabin door Rosie was already stood next to the girl, "Excuse me, can I help?" she had said just when Chloe got close. The girl looked like a short little brat who lived off of daddy's credit card, she was probably right. Geez, what was Chloe thinking employing this girl? she thought to herself. Once Chloe got to Rosie's side, she gave her a 'What the actual fuck' look.

"Of course," James had said with a smile. He'd softly locked their pinkies together and Alix swore her heart stopped for a moment as he'd led her towards the water.

"Just a sec," he'd said. Then he'd pulled off his shirt and pushed his hair back.

Holy crap, Alix thought, He's beyond attractive. It was all she could do not to stare. Then he'd re linked their fingers, brushed against her shoulder, and led her into the water, getting their legs wet.

Alix's heart was racing and her stomach had magically sprouted a colony of butterflies. Deciding to have fun, she flicked a little water at James and giggled, smiling at him. She was afraid she'd push this too far, seeing as they'd just met today. But it was so weird; she felt as if she'd known him from somewhere before. Not like the sappy "I feel like I've known you forever" kind of stuff - she'd lost all belief in that after Luc. But she honestly thought she'd met him somewhere. Maybe she had. But right now, she didn't care. All that mattered to her was now.

"Don't stay up too late, you two!" Alix had heard Chloe call to them. Alix turned around and saw a cheeky grin on Chloe's face and she laughed.
"You got it, dude!" Alix called back, half-quoting Full House, her guilty pleasure. She absently wondered if anyone would get that as she turned her attention back to James.

Logan
As he followed the girl out the doors, another strange girl stood at the door. He didn't know if she was apart of this other girl's crew, so he stood silent for a minute. "Excuse me, can I help you?" The new one had said. Logan took off his snapback and sighed. He was too confused. The short one flipped her long wavy hair behind her back. "Uh, yes. I'm looking for the cabin that I'm going to stay in? I'm here as a jr counselor." She said proudly, popping her gum loudly. "I need to unpack my things." She said. Logan wanted to smile, because the short one had looked up to everyone slightly. She was the little short stuff - with a sassy attitude. He tucked his hands in his pockets and leaned against the wooden railing. Behind him, Chloe had come, and Logan's attention seemed to stick onto her immediately, but then he said nothing.

James
As they got deeper in the water, he was playfully splashed with water. James turned to her, and gave her a mischievous grin. He cupped the water in his hands and splashed it back at Alix. He liked having fun with her, a lot. He started to smile, and then heard, "Don't stay up too late, you two!" It was Chloe. Logan's girl... James had thought for a split second. Then he started to wonder where he was. But he didn't want to worry about all of that now. "You got it, dude!" Alix had yelled back. James smirked, as a little blonde 4 year old girl popped up into his head.

James

A mid scream was caught right after the splash. "James!" she said, pushing him while throwing her head back in laughter. Suddenly she looked very innocent. "James McNair! Why would you do such a thing like that!" James grinned, and noticed her accent came out more than usual. "Hm, I wonder why, Miss Sumter." In a low, but laughing tone. Then, his voice became more silent, and very calm. He moved closer to her, look got caught into her eyes. "I wonder why."
A few seconds of silence went by, and James caught himself gazing into Alix's eyes. He played it off by stepping a little further into the ocean, and took a peek under water. It was as astonishing, even breathtaking how clear and blue it was.
James almost choked underwater at the clearness - the purity. Just then it reminded him why he was so in love with water. He emerged from underwater, and looked over at Alix. "You have to see this." He said, referring to the water underneath.

Kimmy


Kimmy rolled her eyes. "Sure, whatever. Thanks." She'd said, following her to the cabin. Kimmy happened to glance over her shoulder, and spot that Logan guy and the other random chick making some eye contact. She growled and swung her head around. You're not having him on my watch. She'd thought to herself, walking behind Rosie like she was on a catwalk.

Logan
When Kim had turned around for a split second, Logan could see Chloe mouthing "Hi" to him. He grinned, and mouthed "Hey" back. He heard Kim say something, but he wasn't necessarily listening. After the two walked off, Chloe had started conversation. He'd realized they hadn't had one since a few hours ago. ""So, enjoying your night?" Chloe said, turning to him. "The others seem to be having 'fun' they hit it off quick.." She said, glancing around his cabin, then turning to him with a smile. "I would agree." He said, shaking his head with a chuckle. "James is something else..." And acknowledged her first question, "And yeah, I'm having a good time - watching reruns of Jackass and American's Funniest Home Videos, alone..." He'd said, with a slight emphasis on the word 'alone'.
