Summer

Alice watched as Romy and Haylie left. She always wondered what was really going on with Romy, but she wasn't like an open book like everyone else. Turning she looked at Kristina. "I don't know just as long as we get there and have fun." She smiled before moving closer to the girl. "I'll paint your nails. What color do you want?" Alice asked Kristina with a smile on her face. "I wish I had a boyfriend." She told her friend. The last one she had was freshmen year. It was so boring going through highschool without a boyfriend.

Kristina smiled at Alice "I want neon green, please." she told Alice. and scooted closer too. "Thanks." she said. "I want a boyfriend too. But there to much to handle and then I get scared that they might cheat on me so it's a lot to handle." she said. Picking out the neon green nail polish. The last boyfriend she had cheated on her but she didn't tell any of the girls. She just said they weren't getting along at the moment. Wich was basically the truth she just left out the cheating part. She sighed she liked that boy. "Do you where were going?" she asked.

"That's the good thing about being young, guys!" Derek pepped up. "We don't need a plan. Let's just live life until school starts again!" He replied.

"Should we pack our shit in the car and hit the road?"

Grabbing Romy's hand, she pulle herself up. She was still a little worried about Romy, but she wouldn't push her. If it was something serious, she'd let them know in time. At least Haylie hoped so. "Alright, let's head back in." Once she was on her feet, she gave her friend a smile, leading the way back inside. She pushed open the door, waiting for Romy to enter first before closing it behind her. Haylie then jogged up to her room, pusing open the door. Entering her room, she found Kristina and Alice doing their nails and talking. And Haylie was happy to see it. Just that little action, hanging out in her room with her friends made everything seem normal. For a moment it made her forget that in a little over two months, they would all be going their seperate ways to college.

Haylie quickly mentally shook herself from her thoughts, plopping onto the edge of her bed as she checked the time. "So it's 9:15, we've decided to leave at 9. We still need to decide which car we're taking, and pack. We can fill up the tank in the morning, and get snacks or whatever then. By the way...Where are we going?" Haylie felt a little stupid asking the question they probably should have figured out from the very begining, but sadly they couldn't seem to settle on a place.

Alice finished her nails when Haylie and Romy came in "Hey." Kristina sat up and smiled.[b]"So it's 9:15, we've decided to leave at 9. We still need to decide which car we're taking, and pack. We can fill up the tank in the morning, and get snacks or whatever then. By the way...Where are we going?" Haylie said."I personally think we should take my truck because people can sleep in the back and we can hide booze more efficently in there." Kristina said. "And I have no idea where to go."she added. She couldn't believe they didn't know where they were going but she guessed thats the thrill of being young. She laughed out loud when she thought about them waking up in Mexico. Shee quickly quieted down though.

"I vote with Kristina." Alice spoke closing the nail polish and looking at her friends. She backed away again and thought about where they were going. "You know I thought we had s place planned out already." She looked at everyone a bit clueless. How did they plan a vacation and didn't even know where they were going. "Well I say we let Romy choose where we go." She smiled at Romy before her face fell into a straight line. "She has a good sense of what is fun to do." She crossed her legs as she waited for everyone else to decide what to do.

Alex scratched teh back of his head and thought for am moment. Where were they going. That's a good question. "I kinda agree with Derek." He laughed. "Let's just wing it. Go wherever we feel like it. We've got three months to blow. Being out on the road would be better than cooped up in here with the 'Mr. shrine to his mother' whenever he gets back." He was joking, of course. But Hayden dorm mate was just... creepy. "As for when we should leave. Since I'm driving, I say tomorrow at around 10:30." He didn't want to get up extremely early and have to drive while half asleep. But he didn't want to drive late into the day or even into the night. A slight shiver ran down Alex's spine at the thought of that. He hated driving at night. It freaked him out, though he was never sure why. "Any objections?"

When Hayden asked who was going to be driving, Ethan already had Alex in mind for that. Though before he can answer, Derek suggested Alex to drive. "Yeah, I agree with Derek," he said with a smile. Ethan sat backwards on the chair, leaning his chin on his arm. He looked at the other three, listening to what they were saying. Come to think of it, they never talked about where they would go... "Like Derek and Alex said.... we should just see where the road takes us," he agreed. Choosing a specific place would be boring. Surprises were much more interesting. When Alex set the time to head out on their vacation, Ethan pouted out his lips. "I was expecting to go today..." he mumbled "but I guess it's fine going tomorrow. I think the driver has the rights to choose the time they want to leave," He looked to see what Hayden and Derek had to say before asking, "So... we're going to spend a night here for today?"

"Uh ... " Romy crossed her legs, looking around indecisively. Everything appeared to be staring at her attentively. Did they really trust her, of all people, to pick out where to go? f she had a mind for it, she could've directed them to a strip club and they'd be clueless, which was something that would be admittedly funny, it'd be a bit mean, especially to some of the girls more virgin sensibilities. She grabbed a pillow, absently putting it into her lap and squeezing it as she thought. Really, where should they go? Her daydreams of summer vacation had always included Cancun and the Chippendales, but now that seemed kind of silly, to focus on something like sex during the last summer she would probably see her friends for a long, long while. She snapped her fingers, a grin overtaking her face.

"How about we just go where the wind takes us?" She suggested, "I'm serious. Pull out a map, close your eyes, and point somewhere. Whatever road or state or whatever we get to, we do whatever the hell we want, and then a different person can do the map. Admit it, it'll be fun. And completely crazy." She muttered the last part to herself, but a smile was still firmly in place.

Hayden blinked. He hadn't expected his friends to be spending the night at his dorm room, although he wasn't opposed to the idea, just shocked. He'd thought they were going to leave that day, but .. Hayden shrugged. The one who drove had the rights to call the shots, and he didn't really mind either way, although it would be a tight fit and someone would probably be sleeping on the floor or getting a little too close in a bed to one of their friends then they ever wanted to. He sniggered at that thought. Suddenly it didn't seem such a bad idea, especially if he got to see one of the guys freak out over the others snuggling tendencies.

"Sure," He shrugged, a piece of dusty hair falling in front of his face, "It's your call dude, and it's fine with me. Guess we'll have to chug a few today and kick some ass. Did anyone bring any video games? Preferably Halo. Not Mario Kart," He shot a grin towards Alex, pushing himself off of his bed and beginning to dig through his things. He didn't usually keep video games with him on campus, for fear Crazy Eric would steal them or some shit, but maybe he had something to play.

"Fuck that shit!" Derek shook his head with his hands waving in the air. "I didn't pack my stuff to have a slumber party in Hayden's shithole dorm room. Let's gooooo!" He complained like a 3 year old with a tantrum, stomping his feet and pouting his lips in jest.

Haylie tilted her head a bit, thinking over Romy's suggestion. "You know...That might actually be a good idea. Just go where ever...I say we stick with that plan!" She said excitedly. Now that they'd figured out what they were going to do, Haylie's excitement began to grow even more. Though she still wasn't too sure about taking Kristina's truck. Even though it was a good truck, it was still a gas guzzler. "Maybe we should go pack the truck soon." As Haylie said this she had already jumped off her bed, walking over to her desk. Her parent's had bought Haylie several different maps when they had talked about the trip, saying they didn't want her and the girls to end up lost in Mexico. "Since Romy came up with the idea, you choose first." She'd sat down beside all her friends then, placing the map in the middle of them as she spread it out.

Alice looked at Romy and it was a crazy idea, but it sounded fun. "Just to let you guys know, I'm not going to the Grand Canyon. So if it lands on that then I'm out." She laughed after talking to her friends. She knew it was going to be possibly their last trip together, but she would not stand for the Grand Canyon. Absolutely not. After laughing a little longer she agreed with Haylie. "Yeah we should pack the truck up once we know where we are going." She slid closer to the map to see where Romy's finger was going to land. She hoped it was going to land somewhere cool, and not somewhere in the mountains or something boring.

Kristina smiled at the idea. But she got even happier when they said they were going to take her truck "Oh my gosh we're taking my truck!" she jumped and did a victory dance. Then she went to the map to see where Romy's finger landed. She hoped it was somewhere fun like Las Vegas she smiled to herself. "Okay Romy there's no pressure to pick somewhere fun, just put your finger down..... preferably somewhere fun." she said with a smile.

"Really Derek?" Alex laughed and pushed himself off the bed. "You can wait an extra day. I didn't get much sleep last night, so unless you want me snoozing at the wheel, we're going tomorrow. And what's wrong with Mario Kart??" Alex had always had a thing for older games. He thought a lot of them were better then today's games. But still, he walked out of the room, and after a few minutes walked back in with his Xbox 360 and a bag of video games. "Did anyone bring video games." He mocked. "It's like you don't know me at all." He dropped the bag onto the bed and hooked the console up to the TV. He had around a dozen or so games, and four controllers. Alex always had some type of video game with him. He was like a twelve year old trapped in a twenty year old's body. "I've got Halo, Call of Duty, Gears of War, Geometry Wars. And a couple others. Which first?"

While everyone waited for Romy to pick a place they would go first, Haylie decided she'd get the bags and everything in the truck. Maybe if they decided which direction they were heading in, the could get moving just a bit sooner. Besides, Haylie was a bit eager to leave the town she'd been in forever. While making her way around the girls, she scooped up her duffle bag, while grabbing her suitcase. "I'll be back guys, I'm gonna take these downstairs." She called over her shoulder already moving out the door.

Haylie could hear bother her mother and father talking in the kitchen about something or another, but didn't stop to see what. Instead she walked straight out the front door, heading over to Kristina's truck. After placing her duffle and suitcase inside, she stayed outside for a few minutes, looking up at the stars. Her thoughts shifted back to the past few years, bringing a smile to the girls lips, while she brushed a lock of her white bangs out of her eyes. "This summer's gonna be a blast." She said aloud, while looking towards her window on the second floor. She could just make out the girls heads, bent over the map. Maybe we could leave even sooner..Just drive. She thought to herself, while running back inside. Jogging up the stairs, she slid inside her room. "Have we decided?"

Kristina got tired of standing and sat Haylies bed. She was really excited as to where they would be going. She sighed and laid down she had a sore back. All that packing wore her out "I need to exercise more." she said to herself. She sat on her elbows and looked at the back of Romy's head "Are you going to pick somewhere?" she asked. Kristina was getting restless with all this waiting. "Have we decided?" Haylie said. She looked up at her "No Romy hasn't chosen yet." she told her and layed back down on the bed and closed her eyes waiting for Romy to pick a place.
