Introduction
Crazy, right?
Initially, the government wasn't sure how to handle it, and public opinion was mixed. But now we're at a stage where everyone is aware of these superhumans, some even accepting, though more often than not they're distrustful. A few superhumans have risen to great fame, either through their powers or not, but actual superheroes are a rarity, due to all that paperwork and liability and whatnot. The general consensus of most superhumans is to lie low and try to blend in with the rest of the populace. Discrimination is just a stressor they don't want to deal with. Not with their lives happening.
But there are some who can't blend in, even if they try. These people tend to be younger, starting from puberty up to young adulthood, though there are exceptions on either side of the age spectrum. Either their powers are too powerful for them, or they are legitimate trouble makers who wouldn't fit in without their powers. But the government doesn't differentiate, and should you happen to have powers and do something to disrupt the populace in any way, you end up in a detention center, where you will be forced to either control your power so that you can serve the government, or suppress it completely and live life as a 'normal' human.
This is where you end up. Some people say it's the government's way of containing all the young superhumans. Others say there's a darker reason. Still others say it's for the best of the people and the superhumans. You don't really care. All you know is that you want out.
So, one cloudy night, you and a bunch of 'inmates' decide to make a break for it. Of course, the plan doesn't go perfectly (it never does), and you lose quite a number of peers along the way. You don't know if they're dead or not, but you don't have time to look back, and you just keep running. Finally you make it, along with a ragtag group of others who also found freedom. Deciding to stick together, you travel as a group, walking into the night.
The group isn't cohesive. Some of you are friendly, some complete strangers. Fights and unnecessary drama is bound to happen in this stew of hormones and angst. The threat of the detention center sending people after you lingers heavily, and then there is the question of actually taking care of yourself on the streets without getting caught again.
And, as if to make things worse, an unknown danger lurks the streets....
How long can you keep running? Will you embrace your extranormal side, or will you try to fit in and ward off suspicion?
Well, let's find out...

Character Profile
Full Name:
Age: (let's keep it within the 15-25 range. I will accept exceptions based on the character profile, but I also don't want a dozen little 13 year olds running around. Please choose your age carefully, as I will be critical on how you portray it...)
Gender:
Appearance: (both an image and a written description would be great, but if you could only do one, I would prefer the written description. Try to make it detailed, and include things like dressing style, posture, etc. Like, a good paragraph at least. Oh, and try to keep hair color/eye color realistic. Unless it specifically, directly relates to the power, I'm not going to buy that your character has naturally blue hair and purple eyes that change color according to mood.)
Disruption: (why did your character end up in the detention center in the first place?)
Power: (I will limit this to two, and I'm being tentative about it....please note that if you have two abilities, neither will be as strong than if you had just one ability, since your splitting your energy between two things. Please please PLEASE try to stay away from mind-reading/mind-control, because those are so overdone and have too much potential to be overpowered. Try to be creative, and be original. If you absolutely must have a telepathy-esque power, you definitely need to have well-defined limits--though this is true for all powers. Regardless of your power, please include range, your limits, weaknesses, extra effects, etc. I want to know everything about your power that there is to know :))
Strengths: (This is mainly for none power related stuff. If your character is good at something that a normal human could accomplish, put it here. Any knowledge of weapon use would go here too)
Weaknesses: (Same with the strength. Average human weaknesses go here. Put in your character's fears, physical limitations, etc. What would break your character?)
Personality: (The big one. Seriously. Go all out. I want to know exactly what this person is like, how they tick, etc. Give me a good two paragraphs, at least.)
Likes: (Pretty straight forward)
Dislikes:
Bio: (Another favorite. Go all out on this one too. Let me know where your character is coming from. Elaborate on familial relationships. Are their parents superhuman as well? Maybe even a superhero? Or do they have normal human parents? Maybe one is a superhuman? Siblings? Family life? Let me knowww)
Other: (If there is anything else you want to add, put it here. Like, for example, a certain sentence?)

"That Fiery Bitch? No... I would soon kill myself before I followed her lead." His voice was cool, collected, calm. "She's not going to learn how to show anyone respect and not bark out orders. I mean with me, she assumed I'd be a pack mule! I'm not a servant and I'm not a slave." He'd sit on the base of the stairs and try to pull the boy to sit with him. He was exhausted and that was easily able to be seen. Running his hand through his black hair he'd give the Shadow Manipulator a smirk.
"Me a leader... I'll give my name, I'm not afraid of that... but with powers there are weaknesses...should we ever turn on each other, we could use the weaknesses to our advantage... and so could they." He'd think for a moment before continuing on what he was saying. "I'll steal and kill yes, but that is only to protect myself and people I care about... like you Ari." He motioned around to the group, "I don't know these people well enough to lead them...or even if I would die for them." He thought about Dodge's sacrifice and he'd frown to himself. Dodge barley knew him, and yet... died for him and the others. Sage wasn't ready for something like that.
He knew he was an ass, it's why he admitted it to the group when he introduced himself. "I have my weaknesses and flaws like anyone around here... it's why I told them I was an asshole...but I'm a confident asshole....and sexy." He'd give the boy a wink before chuckling. He could see the boy as a leader, Shadows were something dark, dangerous, and different. People seemed to go to that. Ari was logical enough for a leadership position, and he was dedicated for everything he did. He's my best friend... I wouldn't let him die without me... or for me. Sage thought greedily to himself. Arian was his only friend, the only one who got close to Sage while in C-Class, the only one to see under his cold exterior. "We could be leaders together." He'd murmur softly to the boy.
He'd look at Arian casually and innocently as he answered the boy's question. It was heavily considered that he did take up Dodges position, but he knew he wasn't logical enough, and Arian had the logic down pact. They balanced each other out, and made each other better. He sighed an leaned his head on the wall next to the stairs closing his eyes for a moment, what would they do in New York? Hide? Gather what we need to leave the country. Me and Arian...it'll be safer that way. He thought to himself, if nothing else, he'd protect his best friend, even if that included leaving the country, starting over...becoming as normal as they could.
Hearing Austen's voice he'd open his eyes and look at her. The bus was here? Sighing he'd stand up and brush himself off.
"Off to hell we go." He'd sing happily, before looking over at Arian. Offering one of his signature looks, he'd sigh and say, "New York it is Arian."

Kleo quickly shook his head.God dammit, why'd I have to think about the worst possible thing that could happen?
Looking around, it seemed that almost everyone was coming along. Sage, Arian, Jay, Austen, Erin, Sonya...wow. This many people getting on a bus at once is already pushing it. But he supposed there was nothing he could do about that. For now it was best to simply go along with it and hope everything turns out right. The bus had already pulled up it seems. Jay dashed back inside for the keys and Kleo simply waited, allowing the others to go first. Some buses had security cameras these days and on the off chance that this one had one too, Kleo planned on using one of the others as a wall to block the camera.
Sorry, but I'd much rather someone else take that hit. I'm not risking any chance of getting sent back to C-Class if I can avoid it.
He pointed at the flower pot, "Lock and....under there!" he said, hoping she understood what he meant. "Meet you on the other side?" he turned and ran back to the bus just as it pulled up, Erin already stepping in. He waved the others on. "Go, go!" he said, picking a generic voice that he hoped no one on the vehicle would recognize. He skipped in front of Kleo, who was just standing around for whatever reason, and climbed onto the bus. Before he could go further down the aisle, the bus driver growled:
"Hey! Ya still gotta pay fare!"
The driver grunted and accepted the cash, his beedy eyes scanning it, checking to make sure they were real bills. After a moment of satisfaction, he'd look forward as if he didn't see nothing. Sage gave a sigh of relief seeing that his illusion was checking out. He'd quickly walk in his female form to the back of the bus and look out the window. He was curious, how many would be shocked to see another female riding the bus covering their fare...the only thing that could give him away were the eyes, the crystal blue eyes on his illusion.
"Alright." The woman stated to Jay. Stick with him. Even though she hadn't been to New York in years, she was sure she still remembered where the penthouse was located.
Folding up her arms, Sonya couldn't help but smile at Jason's precocious behavior. Guess it's only proper burglary etiquette. Rob some ones house and lock the door back after they were done. Just then, the bus came rolling up to the stop. The red-head shouted out what some would call an insult. Freak. Had she not looked in a mirror lately. That Sage had it right. But it takes one to know one....
Sluggishly, the brunette sauntered over to the bus. Her cyan hues watched Sage cross over to the other side. Hopefully he would be shelling out some cash, if not then the group would be in a bit of a smaller pinch. Coming around to the open door, Sonya stepped foot in side. The first thing she noticed was the stubby bus driver running his chubby fingers through the bills. He casted her and her legs a glance before nodding towards the back of the bus. Passing up a few of the onlookers, she noticed something no longer on the bus. Absent was a certain dark-haired, blue-eyed someone. Shaking her head, her brows furrowed once she found an unfamiliar looking woman. Empty Seat. Maybe this could be the time she could finally have a normal conversation today. Talk to a regular person about regular things. Well in this case maybe just something not related to finding shelter or money.
Approaching the young woman, Sonya smiled and took a seat next to her.
"I hope it's okay that I sit here." The first time she was able to talk to an actual human being. Did she sound normal? Could the woman tell? Was she being to forward? The woman's familiar blue orbs nearly had her mesmerized in the way the sparkled in the dwindling sunlight. Swallowing hard, she leaned her head back against the seat while bringing her eyes towards the entrance.
"Some party that was." She was only trying to come with something logical that would explain why a bunch of kids were about to get on the bus. Hopefully the woman would buy it. Again she peered her head to the back of the bus incase she had missed the man. Where the hell did he go? "That's weird." She muttered under her breath, though clear enough that the woman would hear.
"So... who ya searchin for?" He'd ask trying to make conversation, keeping Sonya distracted. The woman seriously looked like she needed it.
[sorry its short... i'm exhausted as hell... xD]
'Nice to know you have a good cover story.'
"What?" Looking back in the same time, the young woman who was originally seating next to her was no longer there. Instead it was Sage, the person she had been looking for. Changing... altering. Her heart nearly skipped a few beats because it startled her more than anyting. And there he was looking at her with those cold blue eyes, both of which intimidated and intrigued her all at once. Still deciding on rather to look away, Sonya settled back into the seat.
"Nobody." So it would seem.
The woman shivered slightly as more cool air from the open door was being swooshed in. Perhaps it had been a bad idea to wear shorts especially when nightfall was only an hour or two away. Tiny goosebumps inflicted her skin and unfortuanltely this wasn't something she could heal because there was no actual pain.
"You keep using your ability so casuallly... pretty soon someone is going to catch on, Sage." Sonya responded, her sight still directed towards him.
"Can I ask you something? It doesn't require you to actually tell me what it is but when did you find out you weren't 'normal'?" Her voice was already naturally soft, so she did not need to go to great lenghts to keep the conversation between just the two of them.
Sage's words weighed heavily in Arian's mind as he followed his friend silently, still hadn't spoken a single word. 'Do I want to be a leader?' Arian thought, glancing at the group as he climbed on the bus, still supported Sage. He was beginning to breath a little heavier now. Sage's weight was starting to tire Arian out. 'No bloody way.' Another part of his mind snarled viciously. Leading meant responsibilities, emotions and above all, attachments. He couldn't lead this group if he didn't care for them. However, caring was an emotion and emotions equaled weaknesses. In his case, literally. If he cared, his power would be weakened and he would be defenseless. That, in Arian's mind, was simply unacceptable.
'You care for Sage though' Arian's mind pointed out sharply and the teenager glanced at his friend. Quickly looked at his hand as not to attract unwanted attention from Sage, Arian denied 'No, I don't...well, I do but...that's different' Arian twisted uncomfortable on his seat, ignoring the fact that Kleo had used him and the others as some sort of shield. He took a seat behind Sage, uncomfortable to sit near the other male after his mind had said something like that. 'It's true and you know it. Besides, it's not like Sage is the only one you care about. You have a crush on that girl, Austen, right? And you are beginning to care for Sonya more than you should, given the circumstances of our power, you know.' His traitorous mind said nonchalantly and Arian had to clench his teeth in irritation.
'With Sage, it's only a two way relationship! He provides protection and I provide support! I don't...I...' Just great! He was losing a mental argument with his own mind. Wonder how that said about his mental capability. Arian sighed heavily, finally admited his own defeat. 'Okay, fine, well, I care for Sage but that's only him...and maybe Sonya, too... but they're the only two that I care about. My power can't possibly be affected by merely two people. I will only be weakened if I feel too strongly about something' Arian promptly ignored talking about his crush on Austen. However, as always, his mind never gave him a rest.
'Oh, yeah? How about Austen, then? You think I forget about her? I'm your mind, you know that, right?' Arian groaned. Already he could imagine a tiny version of himself glaring at him accusingly. He was so not wanting to deal with it right now. 'We are getting off the track...Do I want to be a leader?' His mind glared at him harder but let the problem slide for now. 'It won't be so easy next time.' His mind warned. It was silent for a second before musing 'In this thing, I agree with you... I don't want to be a leader...' And that was final.
"I don't have what it takes to be one, Sage..." Arian said suddenly behind Sage, interrupting the conversation between Sage and Sonya. He ran a hand through his hair absently and continued "...And I don't want to, either..." A brief pause and Arian added hesitantly "If you want to do it, Sage... you have to be alone... I can't... can't be with you in this..." His eyes drifted over to the rest of the group. "...I don't want to care...Caring hurts... a lot" He whispered softly, running a hand across the smooth surface of his chair.
"I'm... scared"
He admitted, his voice was barely above a whisper and was drowned in the noises of the bus. 'I used to care, too but then it hurts... and I had to stop' Arian thought sadly. 'Now, I'm beginning to care again and I don't know if I should.' He continued his train of thoughts before sighing and pushed all his emotions to the back of his head. 'I will deal with them later if I have time' He thought firmly and concentrated on the conversation just in time to catch Sonya said "You keep using your ability so casuallly... pretty soon someone is going to catch on, Sage."
Arian blinked and then chuckled softly. He reached out and patted Sage's shoulder gently "...She's got you with this one, Sage... You should be more careful, you know. You are still tired from earlier". The sentence ended with a worried frown from Arian and he leaned backward, trying to make himself more comfortable. He looked at the outside world from window and blinked tiredly. "...It seems I'm more tired than I thought..." He said and stiffened a yawn.
"Hey, Sage...would you... would you please wake me up after we come to New York? I think I will rest for a bit" He said and then rubbed his eyes with his palms. He yawned and then closed his eyes, listened to the conversation between Sage and Sonya with a sleepy mind. "Can I ask you something? It doesn't require you to actually tell me what it is but when did you find out you weren't 'normal'?" Ah, that question...Arian wondered if Sage was going to answer Sonya that. It had taken him a while but he had asked that question before. Hmm
But after the money cleared, he just shrugged internally and continued onto the bus. Some human sucker wanted to help out a bunch of random teenage kids, fine on him. He wouldn't complain about that.
He took a seat near the back, staying quiet and sliding closest to the window. There were a few, shady looking characters, some old men with bottlenecks sticking out of paper-bags, and a frumpy looking woman in four layers of clothing and a missing tooth, but Jay ignored him. So far, his personal plan had gone on along perfectly. Now to execute the next part: planning on the bus.

With her head down, Austen climbed up the steps and made her way towards the back. Noticing an empty chair next to Arian (he looked like he was sleeping, which made it better), the blonde lowered herself into the chair. Taking deep breaths in an attempt to not gasp from the pain slithering at the back of her skull, Austen laid her head back. She closed her eyes in a vain attempt to get some rest.

Leaning back he'd give the boy another smile, a bit softer and tender than what it usually would have been. "Sleep well Ari." He'd murmur before turning back to Sonya. Coughing he'd smirk. "I guess I could tell you when I found out I wasn't normal." He'd pause and close his eyes. For a moment it might have seemed he was asleep. "I was 8." He'd mumble finally before going back to that memory. He'd only shared it with Arian, and that took months... should anyone figure out Sage's past... it would make them understand why he did what he did.
Sage's blue eyes glared enviously at the young boy who just got a brand new teddy bear. How dare he get something and not share it?! Running, Sage went to the owner asking for a bear of his own to sleep with at night. All he got was a stinging cheek. "You are out of line young man! Now go back to that room and lights out!" The owner had said, sending a tearful Sage down the hall.
As he laid in bed, he glared enviously at the teddy bear, wishing it was his. Closing his eyes in anger, he opened them to reveal a teddy bear laying next to him, it's beady eyes staring at him, the stitched smile on its face. Smiling with satisfaction, Sage fell asleep happily, trying to snuggle the bear, but soon realized it was air. The next morning as he woke up he realized the bear was gone...closing his eyes, Sage did the same thing he did the night before, and soon, the bear instantly reappeared. That day, Sage knew there was more to him than met the eye. [i]
Feeling the bus jolt, brought him out of his memory. Tightening his jaw, he'd close his eyes once more and slowly drift back into the blackness. [i] If I ever run into that orphanage again.. I'll burn it to the ground. He thought bitterly to himself.

You know you looked like an idiot, right?
Donβt remind meβ¦
Victoria hoped that Epiphany would just forget about that little incident. She lied down, but scrunched up in a ball, so she only took a seat and a half. Her head rested on her bag. βSomeoneβ¦. Anyoneβ¦ please wake me up when we get there.β She muttered as she closed her eyes. In truth, she was just faking sleep so she can avoid talking.
(Sorry so short! >.<)
"I don't have what it takes to be one, Sage..."
A voice suddenly sounded off from behind them and as suspected it was Arian. Sonya kept her eyes trained forward as she couldn't help but listen to what Arian had to say. Watching a few more members from the group finally entered the bus, so hopefully no one would be left behind. If that did happen, certainly the so-called leader wouldn't just leave. Truth be told, Sonya couldn't see Jason as their permanent leader. At times the young man seemed immature and much to into playing around. The group didn't need entertainment and funny voices, they needed a solid and strong figure to show them the way to go. Perhaps she was the only one to feel that way, even if she wasn't no one would speak up save for the red-head; fiercely outspoken and Sage; arrogantly proud. Arian had a temper that much was certain. Tempers if used correctly could be an asset to becoming leader.
"...And I don't want to, either..."
Pause.
"If you want to do it, Sage... you have to be alone... I can't... can't be with you in this..."
It wasn't for sure what they were talking about. Sonya knew it had nothing to do with her. Mind your own business, Sonya. For a second she thought about finding another place to sit before the bus started. But would that make her seem odd?
"...I don't want to care...Caring hurts... a lot"
Apart of her wanted to feel bad for Arian but couldn't because she was in the same predicament as he. And certain feelings and emotions would do the group no good right now.
"I understand Ari..."
The brunette brought her gaze to Sage at the same time he did. Why did she have to sit here?
"I won't let anything happen to you... I'll be here to protect you. I promise."
Sonya looked off to the side, feeling a bit uncomfortable about listening not that it could be helped. She felt a bit uncomfortable about everything really. Their relationship was a bit uncanny in a sense but it didn't concern her. Neither did she want to speculate anything yet Sonya was beginning to find herself in the middle. It wasn't on purpose but she would just have to try harder to keep herself out of it. Of course it was a good thing that the two had developed a bond at C-CLASS. Still didn't mean she had to intrude on it.
"...She's got you with this one, Sage... You should be more careful, you know. You are still tired from earlier".
This time her eyes were directed out of the window across from her. Probably another hour until nightfall which meant by the time they reached New York City it would no doubt be near eight or nine o'clock. Sonya mentally counted the times in her head
"Hey, Sage...would you... would you please wake me up after we come to New York? I think I will rest for a bit.
A nap, something she should be doing at this very moment.
"I was 8."
Not that she was expecting a full back story, but his vague answer was enough to pacify the woman.
"I see. So young." She responded. A brief memory of her own playing over in her mind. It had been nearly a year ago since she found out at the age seventeen. Never could she imagine finding out she was 'different' at five. Her parents never talked to her about her abilities and neither did she. Her powers were still a mystery. Whether they were inherited, or not was unknown.
She glanced around the bus again, seats steadily filling up. The time-aging woman passing by them. If she wanted to move then she needed to hurry before it was too late. Glancing up at the overhead revealed she had took a seat right underneath an air vent. That was just the absolve she was looking for in order to relocate.
"It's cold."
Rubbing her arms on cue, Sonya released a soft sigh.
"I think I'll find somewhere else to sit." She tried her best to give him a smile but wasn't sure if it worked. "Maybe Arian will wanna' sit here?"

"I like you Sonya... you can be a part of our crew." He'd thumb in Arian's direction, "As long as you can admit I'm sexy..." A flirty wink. He'd stiffle a yawn as the bus took off. He'd lay his head against the window and rub his chest. "I can be a pillow for you...if you're exhausted... you look how I feel." He'd murmur half asleep. New York wasn't far away, and he just needed a nap to recharge his brain.
"Sonya..." He'd whisper, a small smile on his face, and then a snore. Sage had passed out right there on the spot, before he could finish his sentence.

She made her way down the bus without consequence, taking the seat across the aisle from Jay, letting the bag fall to the ground with a soft thump. She rested her back against the window and swung her feet up onto the seat, wrapping her arms around her legs to make herself even more compact. She winced slightly as her foot twinged with a brief shock of pain. Maybe it would have been a good idea to bathe it properly when she had the chance. She shifted slightly, trying to get comfortable. At least tonight they were relatively safe and warm. No walking until midnight and sleeping on rocky ground, Lizzy thought with a small sigh. Habit would force her to stay awake, but eventually the fading light and the quiet and warmth would let her drift off into a light, dreamless slumber.
Turning back to spot a pair of icy orbs through full, thick eyelashes. Their eyes drawn to one another; a fuse of ice. Sage leaned forward, their faces only millimeters apart. Sonya could fill his breath strumming along her lips and for a second she wanted to lean in. His arms came around her, the material of his leather jacket brushing hers while his scent filled her nose. And it encouraged her to stare at his lips momentarily. Sage's jacket helped warm her considerably and she was thankful for it.
"You are as gorgeous as I am handsome."
Although it took her a few seconds to open her mouth, she finally did so. Something about the way he complimented her, cause the woman cheeks to warm in want. It sent chills through her body. The only way to bring her body back under control was to avoid the stare Sage bestowed her.
"Thank you."
"I like you Sonya... you can be a part of our crew."
A motion towards Arian. According to him, but who said Arian was keen to the idea. In any event it was still a very nice gesture.
"As long as you can admit I'm sexy..."
That would only boost up his ego more than it already was, if possible. Though she wouldn't lie. It'd be best to just let that one go for now.
"I can be a pillow for you...if you're exhausted... you look how I feel."
Well at least he was offering because little did he know, the teen slept a little on the wild side. And again with the 'compliments'. Sonya brought a tired hand to her tresses and rubbed at her scalp.
"Yeah."
"Sonya..."
"Hm?" No response. But the snores were enough to let her know he had fallen asleep. All she could do was smile and close her eyes.
Effects of her tunnel vision caused her thoughts to drift off into transfusion that she didn't even notice when the bus took off. Nor did Sonya realize she had starting slouching over to the side, eventually the side of her face found his shoulder. As time went on the deeper her sleep became. Her slumber was briefly interrupted by the sinking down to his lap which was probably a good thing or else Sonya would get a crook in her neck if she continued to sleep that way. His breathing was rigid, deep shallow breaths; continuously. The salient heat coming from under her felt nice. Sonya moaned unconsciously as she settled into his lap, drifting back to sleep... His smell scented the area around her delicately filled her nostrils.
"Sage..." She whispered.
"Eleven people? We lost eleven people? Who were the idiots running the night shift? How did you let eleven of our detainees escape? One is barely excusable, but eleven??"
Staff would be fired, dead detainees collected and either discarded or kept for scientific purposes that they couldn't perform on live subjects, and the lot of the ones who tried to escape were punished with solitary, sleep deprivation, and/or starvation.
"Find them. Find them immediately!"
Yet as the scientists, officials, and staff bustled about nervously, hurriedly, and frantically, a different threat loomed over the government facility...a threat that had blossomed in the middle of the previously mentioned city, and had traveled, searching for more victims....searching for more power.....
The bus finally pulled up to a familiar stop, a few blocks away from Times Square, but finally in NYC. Jay smiled lightly, awake for the whole trip thinking. He knew how to get to his apartment from here, but he decided to find the penthouse first before hazarding a trip back to his place. That is, if the others knew to get off here. If not, he'd just find his own place. These people already had difficult telling Asians apart. There was a very slim chance he'd be recognized. At least by anyone who mattered.
He stood up as the bus slowed, and walked to the front as it stopped, skipping down the steps and waiting with crossed arms and his typical perfect posture for the others to come off.
The setting changes from New York to New York City
The ride wasn't eventful at all however. Which was good, but wore Erin out from stiffening at any little sign of suspicious behavior. Riders entered. Exited. The night fell across the sky in a blanket dotted with stars. As they neared the city however, the sky seemed to light up again, millions of light bulbs guiding the way.
When Jay hopped off, Erin quickly followed with her back and back slumping only slightly from exhaustion. They weren't home free yet. Erin nearly walked off, the cityscape familiar enough that she could have taken to being alone quite easily, except for the money. If Sage thought no one had noticed his little trick, he was mistaken. While Erin had stood guard for the them at the front, she was also watching every single one of them through the rear view mirror, frown twisting every so often into indecision or doubt. Remaining with this group suddenly became an impossibility in her mind, but simultaneously, she needed help at the start before gallivanting into NYC without money or a place to stay.
She eyed Jay, noticing their reflected postures, then lowered her arms. "Are you the leader then?" she asked, a bit unnerved by the word. She didn't like leaders really. She just wanted to be in control of her own priorities, but again, she had to use this group to strike out on her own. "Which way we heading?"

New York was not a familiar place for Lizzy. Sure, she'd been once or twice to visit distant relatives, but she didn't even know where they lived. Forget wandering off on her own. The sheer volume of people was almost overwhelming. It took the haemokinetic a moment or two to gather herself as she stepped down from the security of the bus into the hubbub of the Big Apple.Β Β
"Are you the leader then?"
The red head had directed the question at Jason. Lizzy turned her gaze onto him, interested in his response. Well, was he or wasn't he?Β
He turned back to the bus, about to leave, and hardly anyone had gotten off. "Well?" he asked, "We're waiting!"
If the bus left with them...well, he supposed he could just go to his place then. It would just barely accommodate these two plus him...From 11 to 3...already?
Either way, one thing was for certain. The bus drove off, the crowd disintegrated, and the once large group of 11 had dwindled to a much smaller size...leaving behind only 3, maybe 4 or 5 survivors, behind....
Jay wasn't going to wait anymore. If they stayed out here much longer, they would attract attention to themselves. The only people he was certain had gotten off were Erin and Lizzy, though he could have sworn he had seen Sage in the mix as well....everyone else had either scattered, gotten off at the wrong stop, or stayed on the bus for whatever reason.
Well, they were their own problem now. Jay was no Dodge Evans.
"The task of the leader is to get his people from where they are to where they have not been." Jay mused out loud, hands in his pockets and turning down a street, "Well, I can say for a fact that you...have definitely...not....been to....my...The Apartment!"
Not his best string of words, but the best for now. At least all his borrowed voices were male. If everyone came, he could probably fit them...it'd be a squeeze, but it could work. He wasn't going to force anyone if they didn't want to either. He continued walking, not checking behind him, only watching what was in front, reading the signs back home.
