Introduction

No one is really sure what causes it. Maybe it's a gene. Maybe it's magic. Maybe it's fate. But one thing is for sure: some humans are being born with powers.

Crazy, right?

Initially, the government wasn't sure how to handle it, and public opinion was mixed. But now we're at a stage where everyone is aware of these superhumans, some even accepting, though more often than not they're distrustful. A few superhumans have risen to great fame, either through their powers or not, but actual superheroes are a rarity, due to all that paperwork and liability and whatnot. The general consensus of most superhumans is to lie low and try to blend in with the rest of the populace. Discrimination is just a stressor they don't want to deal with. Not with their lives happening.

But there are some who can't blend in, even if they try. These people tend to be younger, starting from puberty up to young adulthood, though there are exceptions on either side of the age spectrum. Either their powers are too powerful for them, or they are legitimate trouble makers who wouldn't fit in without their powers. But the government doesn't differentiate, and should you happen to have powers and do something to disrupt the populace in any way, you end up in a detention center, where you will be forced to either control your power so that you can serve the government, or suppress it completely and live life as a 'normal' human.

This is where you end up. Some people say it's the government's way of containing all the young superhumans. Others say there's a darker reason. Still others say it's for the best of the people and the superhumans. You don't really care. All you know is that you want out.

So, one cloudy night, you and a bunch of 'inmates' decide to make a break for it. Of course, the plan doesn't go perfectly (it never does), and you lose quite a number of peers along the way. You don't know if they're dead or not, but you don't have time to look back, and you just keep running. Finally you make it, along with a ragtag group of others who also found freedom. Deciding to stick together, you travel as a group, walking into the night.

The group isn't cohesive. Some of you are friendly, some complete strangers. Fights and unnecessary drama is bound to happen in this stew of hormones and angst. The threat of the detention center sending people after you lingers heavily, and then there is the question of actually taking care of yourself on the streets without getting caught again.

And, as if to make things worse, an unknown danger lurks the streets....

How long can you keep running? Will you embrace your extranormal side, or will you try to fit in and ward off suspicion?

Well, let's find out...

Code: Select all
Character Profile
Full Name:

Age: (let's keep it within the 15-25 range. I will accept exceptions based on the character profile, but I also don't want a dozen little 13 year olds running around. Please choose your age carefully, as I will be critical on how you portray it...)

Gender:

Appearance: (both an image and a written description would be great, but if you could only do one, I would prefer the written description. Try to make it detailed, and include things like dressing style, posture, etc. Like, a good paragraph at least. Oh, and try to keep hair color/eye color realistic. Unless it specifically, directly relates to the power, I'm not going to buy that your character has naturally blue hair and purple eyes that change color according to mood.)

Disruption: (why did your character end up in the detention center in the first place?)

Power: (I will limit this to two, and I'm being tentative about it....please note that if you have two abilities, neither will be as strong than if you had just one ability, since your splitting your energy between two things. Please please PLEASE try to stay away from mind-reading/mind-control, because those are so overdone and have too much potential to be overpowered. Try to be creative, and be original. If you absolutely must have a telepathy-esque power, you definitely need to have well-defined limits--though this is true for all powers. Regardless of your power, please include range, your limits, weaknesses, extra effects, etc. I want to know everything about your power that there is to know :))

Strengths: (This is mainly for none power related stuff. If your character is good at something that a normal human could accomplish, put it here. Any knowledge of weapon use would go here too)

Weaknesses: (Same with the strength. Average human weaknesses go here. Put in your character's fears, physical limitations, etc. What would break your character?)

Personality: (The big one. Seriously. Go all out. I want to know exactly what this person is like, how they tick, etc. Give me a good two paragraphs, at least.)

Likes: (Pretty straight forward)

Dislikes:

Bio: (Another favorite. Go all out on this one too. Let me know where your character is coming from. Elaborate on familial relationships. Are their parents superhuman as well? Maybe even a superhero? Or do they have normal human parents? Maybe one is a superhuman? Siblings? Family life? Let me knowww)

Other: (If there is anything else you want to add, put it here. Like, for example, a certain sentence?)

1. NO Godmodding! For real!

2. No Over Powering your characters.

3. No Metagaming, unless it fits with the ability.

4. No MarySues/GaryStus! I can spot those in a heartbeat, and I will not accept them! Flawed characters are more interesting, guys! I want realistic characters put in an unrealistic situation.

5. Realize that in the Activity thread, people are roleplaying and nothing is personal. Just because a character doesn't like your character doesn't mean that the rp-er doesn't like you.

6. That being said, be nice to each other on OOC.

7. Speaking of, check the OOC for updates and (if this really takes off) fanart. :3

8. Use common sense when it comes to violence/sex/profanity. I don't have problems with any, but be tactful of others.

9. Please post frequently. I'm on like, all the time, so I expect posts! Like, at least a paragraph...if you can't post for whatever reason, let me know ahead of time. And if you randomly stop posting with no notice, after 2 weeks, I will kill off your character.

Jason's dark eyebrows furrowed and his almond shaped eyes narrowed further as Arian spoke.

What was his power? Wasn't it obvious, with the conglomeration of voices? "Don't ask me stupid questions!" he said indignantly in response, the voice of the young girl from the Goonies clearly not matching his body. If that wasn't obvious, he didn't know what was. Although Arian brought up good arguments, they still weren't right. Being desperate didn't excuse anything.

"Thou shalt not steal," he said solemnly, before switching gears drastically, "Makes no difference who you are!"

A pause. And then snappily, he pointed at the clothes, "Steeeeerike one!"

He pointed at the empty ramen cups. "Steeeeerike two!"

Next he pointed at Arian, "Steeeerike three, and you're out!"

He motioned at Kleo. "Leaving the country will be way too much noise," he agreed, before glancing at Lizzy and adding, "New York is a good idea; big, loud and full of people, human and like us. And I think we should leave as soon as."

That was the plan, and he was sticking to it. If they didn't want to come, then fine, but that was his plan. "I don't know about you guys but...I'm leaving." He started towards the door, hands in his pockets. He paused, back to the wooden door, both to see if anyone was going to come along, and to pull on a pair of shoes.

Private encounter.

Sonya nodded, she was subconsciously suggesting she heal him in the open but Sage did not want that. The brunette didn't think it was wise to leave but she followed dutifully. She wasn't going to lie, her eyes were practically glued to his behind the entire time they climb that she almost bumped into him when they reached the top. Following in the same direction as he lead her to the master bedroom once again. The petite woman stood in the doorway. When he started to undress it caught her off guard. He couldn't have led her away from the group during an important conversation to have 'relations'. His ivory skin that seemed almost pellucid was put on display.

'Now... this may look wrong...unless you want it to look right.'

Sage turned around and at first glance she couldn't help but let her mouth fall agape. The long concentrated gash looked unbelievably painful, maybe even a bit infected. A few loitering scars seemed to be littering his back as well. They looked a bit old, older than the gash. Now she understood why he wanted it to be a private encounter. With Sages' pants hanging dangerously low, his sinewy hips were left exposed leaving little to the imagination. Sonya felt a fluttering sensation take a course throughout her partially empty stomach. She was still human after all.

'So miss healer, think you can handle me?'

"Let's find out."

Sonya made sure to close the door behind her before finding Sage again. Keeping her sight on him for a few seconds longer, she finally took cautious steps forward, stalking over to the man who stood near the bed. Sonya looked down at her hands, suddenly realizing she had never tried this on a supernatural being.

'I hope this works.....'

"Relax." She was unsure if those words were meant for him or herself.

Taking a deep breath, inhaling all the air relaxed her before she began the process. Placing her toasty, slender hands on either side of his back started up an instant physical connection between the two. He was warm. And it had been so long since she felt contact with another human being. Closing her eyes in content a wave of obscured energy surged from her hands to the area of his back.

'Please work.... '

She continued to push herself, a bit of her energy being passed onto Sage to ultimately heal him in the end. Because her eyes were closed Sonya could not see the large wound closing up slowly. Neither could see a few of the other scars fade as she manipulated the flesh of the damaged skin. Using more energy than was needed was being used. Sonya could have stopped now but she continued. Probably because she was enjoying the contact much more than she should.

Departing from the realms of la-la land, Sonya's almond shaped eyes slowly unfastened. It worked. She studied his back carefully. One or two small scars remained but everything else had healed.

"It worked." She said quietly, surprise in her voice. Unaware that her breath had tickled the skin of his back because of the proximity of their bodies. Glancing over to the tall stand mirror, the pair came into focus. She noticed her hands were still touching Sage and made quick to pull them away. At the same time she spotted a small tattoo located on his left shoulder blade. Without thinking, Sonya ran a hand over the eccentric piece of ink. Maybe something he got after a drunken night. Biting her lip in thought, she removed her hand yet again.

"Sorry." Her soft celestial voice sounding off again as she took a step back.

Sage would give a soft sigh as he tried to relax. "Shutting the door now... you're just asking for trouble." He'd smirk, then slowly his cold front would slowly be let down. He'd give a soft shiver as her warm hands touched his back. When was the last time anyone's done that? He'd think to himself as his body slowly would relax to her touch.

"Is it working?" He'd ask casually in the silence, not sure when it would. suddenly his back itched where the gash was. Yep... it works. He'd think to himself, standing there in the silence he'd close his eyes. After a moment he's shiver and turn around when she removed her hands from his back.

"Thank you." He'd say leaning over stretching his abs as he reached for his shirt. With the shirt in his hands he'd walk over to her and lean down a bit as if he were going to kiss her. "Best join the group of misfits...don't want them to think we're doing anything naughty now would we?" He'd ask straighting back up giving an amuzed reaction to her facial expressions.

Grinning he'd stretch his shoulders and back, sighing. "Those scars are all from C-Class..." He'd state walking to the corner of the room picking up his leather jacket. "That tattoo is what I learned after escaping the first time... Never Give in to the Government." He'd explain as if it were a normal everyday thing. Walking to the doorway he'd think how adorable she looked standing there biting her lip. Stop Sage... you must not think that way... He'd mentally lecture himself before his cold exterior grew once more.

"Now you gonna stand there and fantasize about me all day?" He'd say sarcastically before looking at the stairs. "Cuz.. if I were you... that's what I'd be doing..." The sarcastic exterior was back.

Riley watched as everyone was talking, he was slowly eating the poptarts he had in his hand because he usually smacked when he was eating. The yelling in here was incredible but Riley didn't speak at all, the current situation they were in was hide in the woods, New York, or go to a different country. He noticed how some voted to going to a different country but New York did seen better, he watched as two people left something about healing and Jay's little performance with all the little voices he had and Riley loved his power since it was very funny to watch.

Riley finished the box of poptarts and saw of Jay left the room saying he was leaving for New York, he got up quickly looking at everyone and started to walk towards the door. He got up and noticed his shoes were off, looks like years of putting shoes on the front door became intectional for him. He walked near Jay and grabbed a pair of black tennis shoes putting them on, "Wait... Can I take shoes or is that bad also?" Riley asked.

Arian found himself unconsciously gritted his teeth. This was stupid! He couldn't possibly lead this group. This whole thing was a mistake. He shouldn't have left Sage's protection, no matter how much the situation seemed to need it. He shouldn't have tried to draw the attention on himself, it wouldn't work anyway. He shouldn't have left with this group! This group wasn't his responsibility. He had no attraction to it. He shouldn't have let it bother him this much. It was his fault! Arian clenched his hands tightly.

"Arian"

A sharp voice cut through his thoughts like a knife and Arian found himself automatically locked eyes with Sage. It was alright, Sage was here. He would protect Arian if he needed it. He was alright. Everything would be fine. Sage's voice alone was enough to calm Arian's rage down as the teenager took a deep breath, closing his eyes. His power was dangerous, it could kill...him and everyone else. He had to get it under control. 'Calm down, Ceasar...What will brother do in this situation?' The voice of reasons asked in Arian's mind and he answered it dryly 'Well, he would have beaten the crap out of Jason...'

'Okay, that was a stupid question. Let's try again, what will a calm Arian do in this situation?' The voice tried again and Arian pondered for a second before reaching a conclusion 'He would have apologized to everyone and slipped into the shadow to avoid attention' He thought but then added hesitantly 'But I have already made the others focus on me...I can't slip into the-' The voice of reasons interrupted his thoughts 'You can. Just apologize and follow Sage...Even if Sonya can't heal him and Jason does whatever he wishes, the responsibility won't fall on you anymore'

'It's true...Besides, who cares about them anyway? They certainly don't care about me' Arian thought bitterly and stood up. He gave the group a sharp bow and said, slipping back into his robotic voice - the voice he had used to speak to Sage before he opened up to the other male "My apology for letting my temper get the best of me. It was a mistake and it shall not be repeated." He said stiffly and straightened, giving each member a searching look and then stepped back. He picked up his small bag on the floor and flung it on his back, there was no way he gave this bag up. Let Jason call him a thief, he didn't care. This bag contained money and Arian would take the canned food later. If Jason despised his actions then fine, Arian wouldn't force him to use his money or his food.

"I do not feel that my presence here is wanted and therefore, please excuse me" He said and walked away without giving the others a chance to stop him as he followed Sage closely. Behind him, Arian could hear Jason said in that strange voice of his that they would have to leave the house now. Arian resisted the urge to roll his eyes, thinking how could a person be so childish. There were still plenty of things they needed to discuss like shelter and identities and the problems wouldn't be solved magically if they did leave the house. 'Whatever, I don't give a damn about what he has to say' Arian thought with a soft huff.

He waited for Sage and Sonya to finish whatever they were doing before politely knocking the door. He cleared his throat and said awkwardly, shifting from one side to another "Um, Sage...Sonya...May I come in?" He waited for a whole minute before stepping into the room. He glanced around, noticing that Sage was still shirtless. It didn't bother Arian in the slightest and he shrugged nonchalantly. He took a hesitant step toward Sonya and slowly, still searching for bad intentions from Sonya with ihs gray eyes, Arian took out his injured hand.

The sight of it made Arian winced. Well, even if it wasn't broken, it had already swelling an angry red. For the first time, Arian noticed just how much pain he was in and he extended his arm, still afraid that she would hurt him. He hated being weak and helpless. Arian eyed Sage again. No, the other male wouldn't let this woman hurt him, he was sure of it...Just like Arian would stand by his side till the world collapsed around them, Sage would protect Arian without a doubt. He took a deep breath, a determined glint shone in his gray eyes as he steeled himself.

"Sonya, would you mind...helping me with my hand? I...I would appreciate it if you could at least try to heal it..." His other hand twitched and he added quickly "...If you can't, well, that's fine, too..." His face flushed a strange shade of red as he still held his hand in front of her, twitching nervously.

Kleo groaned. This is how bad horror movies start. The group splits up, then the good looking one turns out to be the villain and burns in hell for all eternity. Well, this wasn't a movie, and he knew he wasn't a bad guy, so at least he had nothing to worry about on that front. In any case, there was no way he could just let the guy go on his own, and he was definitely aiming for New York regardless of what anyone else in this room was yammering, so he decided to follow Riley out with him.

"Wait... Can I take shoes or is that bad also?" Riley had asked.

Putting a hand on Riley's shoulder, Kleo remarked. "Dude, nobody's gonna care. Besides. The shoes we had are fine. It's a known fact as stated in the movie "Shawshank Redemption" that nobody pays attention to a person's damned shoes." Turning to Jay, he started talking once more. "And you. I know Arian's kinda nuts right now, but he's gotta point. Do you have any sort of plan right now?"

Austen turned her head wildly, from one end of the room to the other. Everyone was saying what they thought the group should do, turning the discussion into an argument. Then Arian began to yell, and the young mutant retreated quickly. She couldn't think; this was too much. Isolation was how she lived, before and during C-CLASS. This was all too overwhelming. Austen skittered out of the way, making room for Sage and Sonya to slip by. She tensed and moved further away as Arain stalked past.

Completely and utterly confused, Austen grabbed the backpack with her stolen goods and raced up the stairs and down the hall. She slipped into the girl's room and sat down on the edge of the bed. Directly across from her was a full length mirror with pictures taped around the edges, filled with happy faces and memories of good times. Austen turned away, not wanting to feel sorry for herself and her lack of friends. If she wasn't careful, she could easily slip into a depressed sate of mind.

What the hell was she doing? She had never done a wrong thing in her life, and here she was wearing an unknown girl's clothing with a bag full of belongings that weren't hers. Jason was right, she shouldn't take these things. It'd be difficult without them, but who was she to take them? While everyone was preoccupied, Austen emptied the contents of the backpack, placing it all back where she'd taken them from. Finally returning the bag to it's rightful place, the blonde walked into the nearest bathroom.

She examined her reflection in the mirror, her eyes roving across her reflection. Her skin was paler than usual, and she was skinnier - otherwise she looked normal. The clothing was even her normal style, aside from the too loose jeans. Austen undid her braid (since it was dry now), allowing her natural waves to fall around her face. She looked normal, human even. But she wasn't and never would be.

How did she get in this situation, anyway? She was in a family's house, wearing someone else's clothing, staring into someone else's mirror. She was with people she didn't know that didn't get along, with no plan of moving forward. As far as she was concerned, none of the plans seemed plausible; they'd get caught in a matter of days - perhaps less. It seemed like none of them knew anything about hiding.

Flicking off the light, Austen walked back to the group, gulping down deep breaths. She started talking before she could convince herself not to. "Guys," she strained to make her voice heard. "We can't just walk into New York City, settle down, find a nice normal human and live a normal life. We are fugitives. The government is looking for us right now, dammit. Hell, maybe they're on their way here. Eleven mutants do not just walk away from C-CLASS and live to tell the tale. They will hunt us down and they will kill us or haul our asses to somewhere worse then C-CLASS; somewhere where we'll wish they had killed us.

You're all trying to live out some fairy tale! We are not safe, and we won't be anytime soon; maybe never. I know what Dodge's plan was, but we are on the run. We are on the run from the most powerful people in this country. And you all need to stop treating it like some fucking game. This is our lives we're talking about, probably our families lives as well. We cannot just fly out of the country or stroll into New York and forget we were ever locked up in the first place. I know some of you probably were around people that accepted your powers. There are even some famous mutants, and places that our kind our treated like normal people. But we are talking about C-CLASS; do you not remember what happened in there? What they did to us? We are not humans to them; we are abominations that should not be in society. We are animals to be caged and experimented on. They will not just simply forget about us and leave us alone! Now, can we all treat this seriously, act like grown ups and come up with a plausible plan? Otherwise, we're all dead."

"You're welcome."

Sonya let a ghost of a smirk grace her lips. She saw that Sage actually made an attempt to be open with her about both the tattoo and scars. If at all they had been round the other she was sure he would never reveal such things. It didn't last too long though. And once again he was back to his former self; cold and snarky. Full of himself. But she knew. Sonya knew there was more than meets they eye when it came to Sage. This was not the first time she met someone like him and it didn't make it any better that she had a secret spot for the typical arrogant jerk. Lowering her eyes because of the fierce tonality in his words left her amused.

"You'd like that wouldn't you?"

Knock Knock Knock.

Looking over to the door as the sound of three startling taps ensued. The woman figured it to be one of the group members telling that they had hopefully reached a thought decision. That motion was denied when the sound of Arian's voice seeped through. Seconds later the door opened. It seemed like he was giving them time before barging in but none was needed. From his outburst earlier. Sonya was unsure of what he was going to when he approached her. Yet his demeanor was nothing like it was earlier downstairs. After he asked her to heal him, Sonya's eyes traveled over to Sage briefly before turning back Arian.

She offered him a reassuring nod followed by minature curvature of her lips.

"I can... I guess my ability works on the supernatural as well." Again she casted Sage another look out of the corner of her cyan hues.

Slowly she grasped Arian's hand with both of her own. Wrapping them around his as if they were a cocoon. She found his grey orbs and looked into them, but only for a second as she closed them to concentrate. Soon the familiar tinge of energy pass through her hands and onto Arian's. More of her natural energy began to break off with each new wave.
Before long the swelling had gone down. Opening her eyes and removing her hands brought her back to real time. Sonya had become a bit out of breath and started to feel faint. Taking a seat of the edge of the bed helped get her breathing under control.
"Has the group came up with anything?... There was something me and Dodge talked about before his-" The brunette continued. "It only matters if we decide to go to New York City."

Plan? Of course he had a plan! Who did he think he was?

Clothes. Eat. Leave.

hehe...

Eat. Pray. Love.

He smirked slightly at his own joke, tying up the laces on the boots he picked out. Briefly, he wondered if leaving without the majority of the group was still a bad idea. Yes, if they got caught, their numbers would be decimated. And Jay knew the strength of numbers. But...he didn't know that everyone else wasn't planning on going to NYC. With all the talk of staying in the woods or going abroad...none of that was part of the plan. Certainly not his plan! And there wasn't a law about changing your mind...and it wasn't like he would be traveling entirely alone anyways. At least Riley and Kleo would be with him. Besides, even though he didn't hate anyone yet, he wasn't buddy buddy with anyone either. If Arian wanted to get arrested for passport fraud or get caught up by the TSA, then fine.

Austen came over, shooting off more questions about what his plan was.

"We can't just walk into New York City, settle down, find a nice normal human and live a normal life."

Yes, I can, Jay thought sullenly, but he didn't say anything. She continued ranting, going off about experiments and such. Jay had only been at C-CLASS for a few months, so he didn't have to deal with anything too extreme. The most was maybe repeating complicated audio sounds (which weren't complicated at all), and them attempting to change his frequencies. None of which hurt. Just annoying.

Besides. He actually could walk into NYC. He had a place to stay. A place with his name on it. And so long as he continued paying rent to his landlord, no one was going to tell.

And even if that didn't work out, he had a couple friends. Some who knew of his abilities and were sympathetic. He could stay with them.

HE had a plan. A plan for himself. A plan that would work, for himself. Money wasn't a problem. He had plenty in both of his accounts, and his paypal. He banked digitally. Everything would work out. For him.

The problem was the rest of the group. Did he want to stay with them? Even though he wanted to leave, there was still an undeniable safety in numbers. Even if they got caught, if he could just outrun them, he'd have a better chance with all of them as distractions than if he was by himself.

Sighing, he crossed his arms, standing straight as always, and looked at Austen. "The plan....one. Catch a bus to...New York, New York! Two....cute and cuddly, boys....and figure out...our next move....on the bus. Multitasking? Hellooo. Three....Welcome to New York....execute...that plan...."

He repeated her words from earlier: "We cannot just stroll into New York and forget we were ever locked up in the first place" before adding "You must not be from around here....Have you seen it? It's huge!" He gestured to all of them, "Us?....Cellophane, Mr. Cellophane. Walk right through me. You don't even know I'm there!"

He switched voices, quoting a book series he used to read a few years ago, which pretty much summed up his sentiments: β€œI love New York. You can pop out of the Underworld in Central Park, hail a taxi, head down Fifth Avenue with a giant hellhound loping behind you, and nobody even looks at you funny." A bit off in terms of context, but they should all get the point. As long as they kept low, no one would even care that they were mutants. It wasn't like there was a list with their names out yet. Hell, he wasn't even sure C-CLASS knew they were gone yet. Jay was all but certain that New York was the way to go.

Sage's remark was completely unwarranted. Erin's free hand balled up, heating and turning pink, but she managed to drag the duffel bag across the room, toss it out the front door, slip on her shoes and march out of the house with a few huffs of annoyance to calm herself down. She parked herself at the end of the driveway and sat down crossed legged, covering her face. The heat spread along her cheeks, but she breathed in and out, in and out, trying not to repeat the absurd comments she could still hear pouring from the front door.

Bunch of teenagers...

Erin considered leaving, her eyes on the road and stretching out toward the city. She could. No fake ID's or this leaving the country business. She would figure it out, she knew she would. She could survive in the wilderness, well mostly, and was confident that she would do just fine without having other hormones around her spouting stupidity that would only cause her to flame-up.

Voices neared and she saw the two Asians, a girl and another boy. The one from the bathroom.

They had their own drama, but it was the kind that was leading to the New York City. Erin knew that any other plan would fall to ruin. In the wilderness you couldn't hide as well as in the skyscraper jungles of a hectic city. And leaving the country? Hello cameras and security.

Erin swallowed down a bit of pride and stood back up, marching over to the smaller group. She even cracked a grin, though false, at Jay as he finished his bit. "Couldn't agree more. We headin' out then?"

She pulled the duffel over her shoulder, then decided against it. After rearranging some items, she kept the smaller bag which was nearly empty with a sigh. If they made it to the city, then she would find better stuff, more useful city stuff. She had only taken these things on impulse, an adrenaline rush that told her to survive.

That figured out, she stood up tall and straight, still rather short, but calm enough that she wasn't on fire. That was always the goal.

"I'm kinda leaning toward leaving this lot," she added, nodding to the house and the rest inside.

Austen felt...clear. She was off the drugs they kept her on, there was no more experiments; the pain that kept her delirious was gone. The adrenaline rush from the escape had left her system, and the whirlwind of headache inducing emotions had finally began to seep from her bones. Austen felt more like herself than she had in years. It felt wonderful, but also frightening.

Her blue-green eyes swept the house, considering all of the people before her. They all acted so casual, as if hiding in a city or another country was all it would take to fix this situation. They needed new names, new identities, places to hide, a plan of action. They were running from their previous captors, not moving to a new city.

Feeling the rush that had encouraged her to begin her tirade fall away, Austen slouched against the wall. Her body was so weak these days, it didn't take much to wear it out. "I understand, I understand." She said softly, waving a hand towards Jason as he finished speaking. "I just don't understand why everyone isn't treating this more seriously."

Austen's back released more of her weight, leaving her with only the wall to keep her standing. She observed the group once more, recalling all of their powers. Wouldn't blood manipulation be high on the government's priority list? Or human fucking possession? That power could be an endless recourse for the government. Then a thought struck her; their powers did warrant tests, but perhaps they hadn't gotten to them yet. Or maybe they'd only just began; after all, some of them couldn't have been in C-CLASS more than a few months.

"Were you not experimented on?" Austen asked to no one in particular, weakly pulling her hair away from her eyes. "Did they not chain you to your bed? Or take you into the labs nearly everyday and study you? Don't you have the scars where they sliced you open to study your innards? Were you not caused pain to see how your power reacted; or to other emotions such as sadness and grief?" Austen closed her mouth quickly, having not meant to say so much about it. However, she quickly continued as she felt her energy leaving, and the clear head she'd had only moments before retreating to the back of her mind.

"Look, I'm sorry for my outburst, truly. But that place was hell - worse than hell, actually. The reason I escaped when I did was because they were discovering something big; figuring out how my brain was somehow in charge of the aging process, not my skin. Given a while longer, and they could utilize that power, perhaps, and who knows what would happen. I'd be locked up till I died. And I will not, ever, go back there. I'm done with those bastards and their damn studies. So I'm sorry I have little faith in simply relocating."

Austen felt a little numb as she slowly sat down, trying not to move too quickly. Her head was pounding, and her eyes had begun to ache. Her system was unused to living without the drugs and she was paying the price. She rubbed her temples roughly, trying to alleviate the pain.

The tension was palatable. Blue eyes fixed on Arain as he verbally shot down Jason. The words to defend the Korean were strangled in her throat and frozen by her tongue. The dark haired woman remained silent, keeping the observations she thought obvious to herself. Jay may have been opposed to taking more than they needed, but Lizzy had no intention of emptying her backpack. Clothes and bandages could be easily replaced. They would hardly be missed. The theft might not even be reported. On the other hand, if they simply ransacked the place, they ran the risk of drawing local police attention as well as the feds and whoever else was after them at this stage. On top of that, if this was a military family, it wasn't unlikely that they would have locators of some kind hidden in valuables, and the cash marked.

Jay stood to leave, Kleo and Riley joining him, and Arian, regaining his composure a little, left the room. Sage and Sonya had also disappeared during the fracas, not that Lizzy cared. She stood, heading to the kitchen with the bag in hand, throwing in a couple of cans and biscuits. She'd been on family camping trips; food was always a good diversion when people came close to trading blows. They would be glad of it later, of that she was sure. She slung the backpack over one shoulder, re-emerging as the blonde, Austen, was attempting to stop them leaving, apparently backing up Arian.
At this, Lizzy scoffed loudly. Shame, she thought the girl might have more brains that this. Jay explained his part of the plan, smiling slightly at the Percy Jackson quote.
The blond suddenly looked tired and completely drained. She backed down, and Lizzy suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for her. She'd kind of gone on the run before when she was a kid. Sure, she had no powers and there was only herself, her brother and her parents, but it was something they had always needed to be prepared for. People don't like change.

"Were you not experimented on? Did they not chain you to your bed? Or take you into the labs nearly everyday and study you? Don't you have the scars where they sliced you open to study your innards? Were you not caused pain to see how your power reacted; or to other emotions such as sadness and grief?"

Lizzy blinked. Wow, the girl had been through the mill.

"Twice." It was abrupt, but the shyness was gone. "My entire family are mutants, so they thought I was different. First time it was to see how much anti-coagulant I could fight. The doctor touched me and nearly died. One blood clot in his heart, the other in his carotid artery. It caused a stroke. The second time, they tested how I react under pressure. They came close enough for me to make them pass out. Then they have the problem of trying to slip me something without my noticing."
A faint smirk appeared on her lips, giving a small shrug. Hey, she was proud of her gifts. She looked to Jay for a moment; they were still going now, right?
When she looked back to Austen, she was sitting on the floor. She looked back at those ready to leave. Don't go without me, goddamit.

The bag was dropped and she approached the blonde. Lizzy could sense her abnormal blood pressure and heart rate, final lingering traces of all kinds of nasty stuff in there too. She sat beside her for a moment or two, frowning as she fumbled with her ability for a moment or two. The iron tablets hadn't gotten to work yet, obviously. She couldn't touch her skin, which made things awkward. After a second or two, she simply held out her hand. Austen's ability didn't work through gloves, right? Lizzy was pretty sure hers did.
"My mom has migranes the whole time." She spoke softly. "It's kind of like dealing with that, really."
It was completely up to her; if she didn't want Lizzy to help, then she would just stand up and head out with the others. If she did, Lizzy would normalise everything as far as she could. Which mightn't have been much; drug withdrawal wasn't all just funny blood pressure, but it could help her a little bit.

Sage chuckled darkly. He was ready to say something sarcastic and dirty when Arian knocked on the door. "Er... you allright Ari?" He'd ask the younger boy. A nickname he gave the boy when they were roommates in C-Class. His eyes narrowed on the boys wrist. "Seems we all were the ones to get hurt when we left." He'd say cooly, throwing his shirt back on. He cared about the younger boy. This boy was like his brother. The only one who understood him. My only friend. Sage sighed and shook his head. "I say... until we get the proper paperwork, and the enough money....we go to New York." His voice was reluctant as he spoke, obviously he really didn't want to go anywhere near the City.

God... I sound more like a leader than I should... is this what I should be doing... leading them in the right direction? He thought solemnly to himself. He did have a strong power, but so was possession or decay. I'm a cold snarky ass... they wouldn't respect me as a leader anyway. He thought negatively to himself. He couldn't help that he was so negative about himself. He'd shut the door after Arian walked in and lean against it. "Listen this is a group of sorry suckers.... they don't seem to know safe vs. logical." His voice broke through his thoughts.

"So all I say... is we stick around with them for a bit. We seem like the smart ones....plus we could always use a Healer and Shadow Manipulator." He'd nod to both of them, before pulling a few wads of money outside of his pockets, they were illusions of course but its all he could do. "We have money....that can last us..." He'd state giving Arian a warning look to not say anything.

"But first, let's weigh out our options..." Opening the door he'd protrude an Image of Jason. "Parrot boy... opinions... concerns?" He'd say letting the illusion-Jason walk to the corner of the room."Next, Fiery Bitch.." He'd give an illusion of Erin, and made her walk next to Jason. "Of course miss Death herself." Austen was seen walking to the corner, like everyone he was naming was lining up.

"Let us not forget the Puppeteer" Kleo stood next to Austen. "This is all I care about... they seem the most obnoxious and rude ones... well except Miss Death, she's a very powerful dangerous one... so is Kleo..."

A beam of sweat would cross his forehead as he spoke, and the illusions came. While they didn't know it, he had given an image of it being just a wall incase anyone tried eavesdropping in on their conversation. The door to the master bedroom was gone... no one would be able to see it...though Sonya, and Arian would be able to see the door from the inside.

Victoria’s head hurt. A lot. All these ideas and emotions crowded into a group of young adults’ minds. Victoria felt her jaw clench when Arian brought up morals. You should not be talking to me about morals boy… Victoria’s eyes bored holes into the ground as her fists clenched and unclenched as her temper flared as well. He stormed off after an outburst, behind Sonya and Sage. Victoria sighed and rubbed the back of neck.

Then Jason left with a few others after giving a quote from Percy Jackson, one of her favorite books. Austin brought up how much she suffered in the C-CLASS. β€œStop bringing that shit up, ok? What do you want from me? Pity? We all had terrible lives in there. We know what it’s like to be caged and screwed with like we aren’t human.” Victoria snapped, which is very unlike her. She felt her breathing come out in angry huffs. All the water bottles in her backpack started vibrating violently, making her bag shake. She grabbed one of the straps and slung it over her shoulder. β€œWe need to keep moving. I don’t think we should stay in New York forever. Soon enough the gov is going to place bounties on our heads, and people will not stop until we are strapped down for the rest of our lives. You’ll be surprised at how low the human species can get.” Her backpack continued to shake, and it grew with her anger. She stomped out and slammed the door behind her.

As soon as she got outside, Victoria felt guilty. What she said had been rude. Very rude. Victoria rubbed her forehead and sighed. Sitting on the porch, she opened her back and pulled out a water bottle. She was about to open it when it just exploded. She yelped and sprung to her feet and landed a few feet away. She blinked a few times and picked up the shredded remains of the plastic bottle. It took her a moment to realize she did this. β€œGod Damnit!” Victoria growled throwing it to the ground. She plopped back down onto the front step and put her head in her hand. Her head lifted to see the leaving group of kids and Victoria brought her knees up, and rested her chin on them, staring into the ground. β€œI’m probably useless to them anyway…” Victoria muttered to herself as she brought her hand up, pulled the water that had splashed onto her off of her body. It formed a sphere. Victoria looked at the suspended liquid, and blinked a few times.

She closed her eyes, and visualized something. As her eyes remained closed, the water moved and swirled until it took shape of a musical note. Victoria opened her eyes and stared at it, blinking very slowly. ”Hmm…” She let the water drop, and opened up her bag and took out the old iPod she took. She jammed the buds into her ears. Victoria hadn’t heard music in a while. She didn’t care what came on, she just wanted a catchy beat. Hitting shuffle, a large smile creased her lips as she opened her mouth and sang with the song:

I lie here paralytic, inside this soul
Screaming for you till my throat is numb
I wanna break out I need a way out
I don't believe that it's gotta be this way
The worst is the waiting
In this womb I'm suffocating

Feel your presence filling up my lungs with oxygen
I take you in
I've died

Rebirthing now
I wanna live for love, wanna live for you and me
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

Rebirthing now
I wanna live my life, wanna give you everything
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

Right now
Right now

I lie here lifeless in this cocoon
Shedding my skin cause I'm ready to
I wanna break out, I found a way out
I don't believe that it's gotta be this way
The worst is the waiting
In this womb I'm suffocating

Feel your presence filling up my lungs with oxygen
I take you in
I've died

Rebirthing now
I wanna live for love, wanna live for you and me
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

She did not sing the entire song, but her voice was full of passion and power as the lyrics spoke of pain and separation and loss and love and… so much more that Victoria put into it. With her eyes closed, Victoria was oblivious to the world. When the song ended, she turned off the iPod, and stood up, feeling so very much better.

Austen stared at Lizzy's hand for a moment, then slowly placed her gloved one in it. She could feel some of the warmth of it seep through the glove. It was strange to feel the warmth of someone else's skin; how long had it been since she'd felt it? Before the blood-manipulator had a chance to do anything, Victoria suddenly sprang into view, shouting at the blonde. Austen pulled her hand back quickly, pulling her body as close to the wall as she could. Victoria stormed out of the house, and Austen was glad of it; she hadn't meant to offend anyone. She was simply trying to get her point across.

Turning back to Lizzy, she took her hand once more, hoping she could help her in some way. The pain was horrendous. "I don't think we shouldn't go to New York," Austen almost-whispered, hoping to make a friend in this girl. She hadn't had one before, but she found it much easier when the person in question was also a mutant. "I just don't think moving there and trying to hide is the best plan. We wouldn't have anywhere to stay, anyway. And the streets are hardly safe. That isn't bad, is it?"

"Er... you alright Ari?" Sage asked and Arian shrugged. He answered in a soft voice, still feeling startled from his earlier outburst "I'm fine, Sage...I've gone through much worse" He smiled reassuringly at his friend and flinched when the girl - Sonya grasped his hand gently.

"I can... I guess my ability works on the supernatural as well." Arian looked in amazement when a surge of warmth filled his hand and then his heart. He blinked, wondering if that was what Sonya felt when she healed someone. 'The swelling...it disappears!' A childish voice inside Arian exclaimed. 'That's a very useful power' Another voice added and Arian agreed with them. Sonya was a very useful person indeed.

As the black haired girl sat down on the bed, Arian looked at Sage and then at the girl again before shrugging and took a step closer to Sage. "Has the group came up with anything?... There was something me and Dodge talked about before his- It only matters if we decide to go to New York City." Arian shook his head and replied "...Well, Park seems to think he's the leader or something and wants to leave as fast as possible...The others...I don't know"

He chewed his bottom lip and added after a short pause "...They will probably go to New York. I don't understand what's so appealing about that city but I'm with Sage...wherever you go" He locked eyes with his friend and then said tiredly "...I shouldn't have tried to lead, you know...I'm not, I don't have that leadership thing people need" He looked at Sage when the other male opened his mouth and spoke confidently.

"I say... until we get the proper paperwork, and the enough money....we go to New York."

Arian nodded. The matter was decided "As you wish, Sage...I'm with you" He whispered. A thoughtful look appeared on his face as he began to think 'Hmm...We should probably join the group. I don't want to but it's best if I use them. They need to toughten up anyway' Another thought struck the shadow user 'But I'm not evil...I don't want to...' He listened to Sage as he used his power to demonstrate his point. Well, he might as well contribute something. Besides, it was not like the others could hear what they were talking about anyway.

"...If we can get Kleo and Austen on our side, we may have more chances at surviving...Their powers are very useful. We shouldn't make them our enemies" He said and crossed his arms. Sending Sonya a glance and hoped that she wouldn't talk about this to the others, Arian added, a touch quieter "They are about to leave, Sage...We'd better get back to them... If worse comes to worse, we can probably survive on our own but number is important here." He looked at Sonya and offered her a small smile, his lips curled upward slightly.

"...Let's go...I bet they have already started another drama and teenage angst or something" He tugged Sage's sleeves and offered his hands to Sonya "...Would you like me to help you?"

"I say... until we get the proper paperwork, and enough money....we go to New York."
That seemed logical enough. Obviously group, or of what she knew did not have any money. And she doubted that somehow a bus driver would just let them ride for free. Perhaps Kleo could posses him, hopefully he could drive. None of the others seemed to be right for the part... and Sage's power was still unknown.

'So all I say... is we stick around with them for a bit. We seem like the smart ones....plus we could always use a Healer and Shadow Manipulator.'

"But we sti-" As soon as her bight eyes watched Sage expend a rolled up sum of cash her words stopped. Where they hell did he get that? And why was he holding out on the group when all of their arguments seem to spiral around that fact?

"We have money....that can last us..."

"You've had that all this time?" She asked with an indecisive smile. A part of her unsure to scorn him for not speaking up sooner or kiss and hug his face off. Sonya would let him go on with his correlations about certain members of the group. Jason...
Jason? Was it a coincidence that he came into the room at that particular time Sage mentioned him. Surely it couldn't. Her suspicions were confirmed when the remaining group members came in right on cue as if Sage were presenting a power point. What they hell is going on. Control. Clone. Copy? No. None of it made sense. It was clear that he had something to do with but what?

Before she could ask any questions, Arian was not to soon speaking again.

"...Well, Park seems to think he's the leader or something and wants to leave as fast as possible...The others...I don't know"

"I imagine so. Ever since Kleo put that idea in his head.... That he was the only competent one." She just couldn't resist. The woman regained her strength once again and eventually found her breath. "And everyone will follow." She mumbled. "Don't talk like that. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." A quote widely used and also perfect to describe the current situation.

"...If we can get Kleo and Austen on our side, we may have more chances at surviving...Their powers are very useful. We shouldn't make them our enemies"

Sonya noticed Arian glancing at her as he said those words. Clearly he was speaking to Sage.

"...Would you like me to help you?"

The brunette offered Arian a weak smile before standing up. "I'm okay. I just got a little ahead of myself."

With soft steps, she made her way out the door with both men following behind. Glancing around the living room revealed an unruly sight. It was nearly empty. How long had they been gone? Surely not long enough that over half the group had left without a word. Taking a look at the women who remained, Sonya gave a sigh. There had to be only one person behind this. The woman walked to the front door, pulling it open with gusto. There they were. All of them standing around like lost puppies. She spotted the Asian man, Jason and headed in his direction.

"So. You're going to lead us? That's fine." Sonya folded up her arms as she stated her next words clearly and moderate."I've already said I don't trust any of you... not that you can blame me but I might have a solution to one of our problems. Just one." She held up her index before lowering it. "My parents own a penthouse in New York City. I know water and utility are run through the entire building. But that will only fix one of our problems for now. There are still going to be certain things we cant get around even if we stay there. There is no food. My parents haven't been there in years so... And we still have the problem of utensils. I'm only offering this once..."

Epiphany groaned, the arguement that had taken place between Arian and Jason was ridiculous. It was much too early to even have one, as they had all just introduced themselves to one another. And conflict was something that none of them had needed at this point. Arian left the room, with Sage and Sonya following after him. Jason had also left, Kleo and Riley following after him. Epiphany rubbed her temple and sighed. This shouldn't be happening, they were all supposed to stick together, was that not apart of Dodge's plan?

The whole thing was childish and unnecessary, and just because the two hadn't agreed on something. The woman Austen suprised her when she spoke, her voice dripping with passion as she told them about their lives before the escape. It suprised her even more when Victoria went and put in her two cents, explaining that everyone had been there and done that, and stormed out of the front door. The whole group seemed as if it was falling apart already. She hoped they would come to their senses and stop this nonsense. Epiphany walked toward to front door and stepped out. There she saw Victoria sitting with her knees under her chin, and she had been singing. After she had finished she stood up. Epiphany gulpped and spoke in a soft, almost whisper like voice.

"V-Victoria right? You have a really pretty singing voice, oh and thank you for removing the water from my hair earlier."

Sage chuckled and shoved the wad of illusion cash back in his pocket. "Shh... its our little secret." He'd say holding one finger up to his lips. Looking over at Arian he'd roll his eyes, "Look Parrot boy can think he's leader all he wants, but he can be easily picked from a crowd." He'd motion to the illusion of the boy. "I mean come on... in New York... someone is likely to punch the shit out of him for what he says and how he says it." He'd flex his hand as if that's what he wanted to do. Perking a brow at the idea of getting Austen and Kleo on their side he'd smile.

He'd nod in agreement. "As long as Mister Puppeteer doesn’t try and possess me I'm good with it." He'd slide down on the wall and close his eyes, he'd obviously done a lot to make sure that his illusions were very realistic. He slowly took deep breaths. Waving his hand down to Sonya he'd give her a weak smile, the illusions would falter and flicker. "Go ahead...I need a minute..." He'd say softly looking very exhausted like he had been working out.

He'd look at Arian as soon as she left the room. "I'm glad you're my friend dude... no lie... I only want you knowing of this power of mine." He'd shake his head and fiddle with his ring. "I need to know who do you think would be a better leader?" He'd motion to the illusions that were still there flickering.
I need to try something... in case this ever happens... He'd think to himself concentrating on everyone in the group, making them appear, and talk and communicate among themselves. Taking slow deep breaths he'd look at Arian slowly, his green eyes locking with the boy's grey ones.

Standing once more, he'd break his concentration with the illusions, and he'd lean on Arian for support. Large illusions like that usually left him shakey, especially if he was already exhausted. With them walking down the stairs he got to the edge when he heard Sonya say something about a penthouse in New York, and something about her parents not living in it for years.

"I agree with you Sonya... it sounds like something we could do for the moment." He'd give a weak smile his arm still around Arian. He hated showing weakness, so it would look more like a brotherly lean than Arian holding the man up for support.

Lizzy's eyes narrowed in Victoria's direction. Well, somebody had their knickers in a twist. It was quite obvious that Austen wasn't well, and she had wiped any earlier negative thoughts of the girl from her memory.Β
For a second, the blonde let go and somehow backed further against the wall. Because Vicky had contributed a lot of sensible, helpful advice, hadn't she? It wasn't long before Lizzy felt a gloved hand back in hers, giving Austen a small smile.Β

It was tricky; her abilities worked best with skin contact, and the doctors gloves in C-Class had only been thin latex. She frowned for a moment, fiddling around for a moment or two before she hit gold. Bringing everything to normal took a few moments longer than expected, but with a bit of luck, Austen should be feeling at least a little better.Β

Β "I don't think we shouldn't go to New York," Lizzy blinked as the blonde spoke softly to her. "I just don't think moving there and trying to hide is the best plan. We wouldn't have anywhere to stay, anyway. And the streets are hardly safe. That isn't bad, is it?"

Lizzy blinked again, forgetting that her hand still remained in the others. Did... Did she just confide in her? For a moment, Lizzy wondered why. But then again, she wondered if anyone had the guts to sit with her, never mind holding her hand. The dark haired girl let a small smile slip onto her lips and squeezed her hand gently.Β
"I know. If we had more time, I'd be right on your side, but we don't. The sooner we get to New York, the sooner we can slow them down and maybe even lose them. Besides, as bad as the fighting might get, I don't think anyone's stupid enough to go on their own. Safety in numbers."Β

Lizzy got to her feet, again offering her comrade a hand up. "Sitting here is like sending the bastards a handwritten invite."

"V-Victoria right? You have a really pretty singing voice, oh and thank you for removing the water from my hair earlier."

Suddenly, the color drained from Victoria’s face and her blood ran cold. W-was she listening to me?! Not a second afterwards her cheeks turned bright pink. She probably looked like a weirdo sitting her singing to herself. Victoria whipped around, and said, ”O-oh? R-really? Thanks! An-and… ahh… umm… your welcome, I guess, it wasn’t a big deal really.” Victoria let a large smile come onto her face as her cheeks turned a brighter red. Victoria let out a deep sigh, and hit her palm against her forehead, and shook her head, making her brown hair bounce around.

β€œIt’s just… I’m just… so nervous, I guess. All of this… m-made me… mad. And I feel really bad about what I said. I-I shouldn’t have snapped at Austen like that. I-I’ve never been good at handling so much stress at once. I don’t even know how bad it is for the others. The ones actually providing to the group. I feel like a… a… free loader. I’m a useless part of a jumble of unstable freaks who’s powers are so much more useful than mine is. I don’t even know why I tried to leave that hell-hole. I have nowhere to go anyway.”

Victoria’s stomach dropped and her heart froze when she thought about her mother. Victoria had been taking care of her mother ever since her father passed away. Victoria suddenly felt guilty and helpless. β€œM-my mum! I totally forgot! She’s probably doing awful without me. Well… that’s what I want to think.” A sudden rush of thoughts flooded into her mind. Her mother, driving while drunk, and crashing. Doing something else. Something she might regret. Victoria’s fingers curled up on the side of her head, and tears flowed to her eyes. Everything was too much for her. Her mother. The memories of the bleak prison. The impending recapture. Snapping at Austen. β€œI-I hate this… I’m just a problem to the world… to everyone… if I hadn’t been born… my father wouldn’t have died… my mother wouldn’t have turned to what she is today… and I wouldn’t feel like this right now…” She whispered to herself, letting the tears drip to the ground. She didn’t care anymore. She was useless. She was nothing. She was a burden. All she wanted was the group to leave her behind. To be alone again.

But is that what I really want?

Austen smiled at Lizzy's response, feeling better not only for the kind words but for her power. Her body still screamed and the hammering in her head was still present, but she didn't feel as shaky. "Thank you, really. I feel much better." She said, thinking of returning the squeeze, but she wasn't even sure if she could. Human contact wasn't something she was used to. Pulling the collar of the sweater up further in an attempt to cover more skin, she slowly stood.

Looking around as some of the people left, Austen felt ashamed. What had possessed her to yell as she had? She hardly spoke to anyone, ever. Normally she was quiet, shy, unable to look others in the eye. She wanted what was best for everyone, for everyone to be happy. And yet, she'd just shouted at them all. Austen felt anger now, at the people in C-CLASS. They'd change her in ways even she couldn't understand.

Austen realized that fueling this change in her was partly for her desperation to get out of the government's grasp. She hadn't told the whole story of what they'd done to her, or what they had made her do, and she never would. The young outcast already had enough trouble living with it herself.

Clutching her midsection tightly, Austen moved slowly towards the group at the doorway. Standing at the edge of the little group, she made eye contact with Jason. "I'm sorry. Really. I'm not myself, I can't think straight. We should go to New York."

Amidst all the talking and waiting, Jay had been thinking. Sure, he heard everything, but he hadn't exactly registered anything until he heard Sonya suggest:

"My parents own a penthouse in New York City..."

Ah, that was perfect then! Between his apartment and the empty penthouse, there'd be more than enough for all of them to stay. And Jay would have another base to stay at, in case his apartment got found out.

"That makes two of us!" he said, and he held up two fingers, "Right! I'm from New York (New York), so...stick with me! We'll be fine...Shall we?"

The bus was bound to arrive soon. It might be suspect if all of them were to get on at once, but they weren't dressed suspiciously anymore. So long as no one exited the house while the bus was here, they'd be good. Speaking of...

"Is this everyone?" he demanded, crossing his arms, "bus...soon. I'll be all right without you."

As he said those words, he heard the bus itself rolling down the road. Stuck at the stop sign, he suddenly remembered: "The Key!...Where is it??...." He felt his pockets, but realized it was probably still in the house. "Shit!" he muttered, and ran back inside, hoping the bus would stall a little longer...

Erin hitched the smaller bag on her shoulder. Part of her figured she should wait for the others, but simultaneously, she needed to leave. Now. While they had the chance.

Without a word, she started across the street and hopped into the bus stop just as the bus was pulling over. Her eyes widened, foot tapping, but she didn't go in. Why? Wasn't this what she wanted to begin with? Just get away and survive on the DL alone so no one else could attract attention...

Then again, these powers around her? They might come in handy. But was that possibility enough to jeopardize her well-being.

She didn't trust any of them, let alone a select few.

Peering around the bus' front with a scowl, she shouted. "Hurry up you freaks!!!"

Arian watched everything slowly happened with his calm eyes. He allowed Sage to lean on his body and his arms automatically reached out to support the other male. "I'm glad you're my friend dude... no lie... I only want you knowing of this power of mine." Arian nodded and tightened his grip on Sage. "You know...It has been ages since the last time I heard those words from you. You're too damn proud for your own good, you know that?" Arian chuckled, allowed himself to relax a little bit.

"I need to know who do you think would be a better leader?" Sage suddenly said and Arian stared at his friend like the man had grown a second head. 'You are not thinking what I think you're thinking, right, Sage?' He thought in disbelief. He frowned as he observed the illusions, tapping his chin with his index finger. "...I suppose you want my honest opinions..." He mused, eyeing Sage. 'Who will be the better leader, huh?' The voice of logical echoed Sage's question.

"In my opinion..." He started slowly, picking his words carefully. "Park, that fiery girl and you have the best chance of becoming a leader for this group..." He paused and then pointed at the illusion Jason "...Park has what it needs to be a leader not because of his brain and surely not because of his power but because of his connections with Dodge. He can just think of something and then pretend that Dodge 'said' it then the group might follow that. The group is still, subconsciously I think, recognizing Dodge as their leader. Therefore, as per Dodge's 'dying will', they will most likely do what Park says. For him to fully become a leader that people can accept, he will need to learn how to listen to other people and not just bragging into things like what he just did."

"...That fiery girl...we still don't know her name by the way...is another whole different case. She has the strength and personality, however bossy that may be...Also, she isn't shy away from doing dirty works, something Park will be hesitant to do if worse comes to worse. Her power, still unknown to us, will be bound to create the mysterious air that can draw people in. However, if she wants to become a true leader, she will need to learn how to lead instead of barking orders"

"You, Sage, are like that girl in many ways and yet different in many others. You give your name to them yet keep your power away. You aren't afraid of stealing and/or killing. However, to the others, you appear like an asshole too much that the fact that you're the leader will be the last thing they can think of. They won't accept you easily, I'm telling you that. If you want to become a leader, well, you need to show them that you care. And when I say 'care', I mean for their health and safety, not their three sizes..." Arian said dryly, giving Sage a look.

"The next line that has the potential to become the leader are...well, me and Sonya. I can, temporarily or even permanent, lead the others with my logic and reasons. However, my actions will most likely be quite amoral to some others and I have already lost my temper with what Park said earlier so it would probably take a while for the others to accept me as a potential leader material again" He pondered, giving his hand a glare.

"Sonya...Well, her power is extremely useful and no doubt needed in the long run. If she can muster up the strength to speak more and well...just less shy, people will accept her more easily as the leader. She needs to increase her stamina and the time she can use her power as it's still too short and people might discard her once she is out of use. If she can tighten the bonds with the others before that happens...Well, that's another matter"

Arian coughed and cleared his throat, unused to so much talking in so little time. He concluded his little speech with a shrug of his shoulder "That's about it, really...I haven't interacted much with the others to form a proper opinion about them. I may do so in the near future though" He watched as Sonya approached the rest of the group and gave her opinion "Are you planning to lead, Sage?" He asked silently.
