a character in “Super What?”, as played by Starlight77

Description

Victoria Lee Marlink

Age:
17

Gender:
Female

Appearance:

Image

Victoria is not of the largest stature, being only about 5’4’’ and weighing only 105 pounds. Her skin is soft and a bit on the pale side. Though under her skin are lean muscles that can pack quite the punch. Her hair is a dark brown that reaches just above the small of her back. It is usually slightly wavy but maintains a straightish look. Victoria’s eyes are a stormy gray with a bit of a greenish hue, but if one were to focus enough, you would be able to see dark blue flecks in her irises. Her lips are a light pink and her teeth are bright white.

Victoria’s usual outfit consists of jeans and a tank top, with a hoodie or denim jacket. She always wears sneakers and a necklace that she never takes off. It has a silver chain with a light blue gem. A strip of silver winds its way around the gem like a snake.
Image

Disruption:
Victoria was taken for multiple murders caused by drowning. Though none of those killings were intentional, that doesn’t matter.

Power:
Water Control
Victoria has the ability to control the element of water. She can move it, shape it, levitate it, and pressurize it into powerful blasts. With it, she can do an assortment of things. Many things she hasn’t discovered yet.
By channeling the water, she can swim quicker than a normal person would be able to. Though this isn’t very helpful, except for bragging.
Victoria can pressurize water into strong, forceful blasts to knock foes back or off balance.
She is experimenting with trying to use water to increase her punching or kicking strength by using it to boost the speed of the attack, therefore increasing the power. She has had a bit of success, though she has long from perfected it.
Victoria hopes to evolve her powers and learn to control ice as well, but every time she has tried she has failed miserably. Though she continues to try.
But, if there is no water source, Victoria’s powers are completely useless. She would need something along the lines of puddles, a fire hydrant, or a body of water. If Victoria over exerts herself, she can become very drowsy and lethargic, and her mind and thoughts becomes clouded. Sometimes, if she pushes herself even farther, she may pass out.

Strengths:
-Martial Arts-
As a young girl, Victoria made sure that she would always be able to protect herself. Victoria has practiced different forms of martial arts (Karate, Tae Kwon Do, some Kickboxing, and different locks and holds) ever since, taking all of her free time to train herself.

-Singing-
Victoria’s voice is sweet, smooth and melodious. Her voice is calming and joyous, and she seems to calm people with it.

-Animals-
Victoria is not sure if she considers this a strength, but she has always loved animals. She feels they are just as important as people, and would risk her life to save one. Though she’s never been a big fan of spiders or bugs.

-Fast Runner-
All of those times being chased home built up Victoria’s lungs, therefore she isn’t easily winded either. But she can be rather clumsy…

Weaknesses:
-Trypanophobia-
Fear of needles. Victoria has a deathly fear of shots. Come near her with one, and she will have a spaz attack. She will fight back. She will not let you touch her with that needle as long as she is conscious.

-Iatrophobia-
Fear of doctors. The smell of cleaning alcohol reminds her of needles. She also feels violated by doctors and refuses to be seen by one.

-Xerophobia-
Fear of dryness and dry places. Victoria has always had nightmares of waking up in a desert that stretches as far as the eye could see. No water means that she is useless.

Personality:
Victoria is rather shy. She is secluded and doesn’t enjoy opening up to others. She isn’t very talkative and keeps to herself. She is one to ‘go with the flow’ and just agrees with what other people say. Though, she is very creative and intelligent, but most people just brand her as the stupidly shy girl. Victoria is also clumsy and awkward, and doesn’t like crowded places. She believes greatly in personal space and will not invade yours. She keeps everything private, thoughts, ideas, past, everything. Victoria is a generally all around kind person. She puts others before herself, but would still give anything to prove herself. She isn’t happy with being branded a ‘mute freak.’

Victoria is physically fit, and can outrun and out match most other girls. She doesn’t think that your power or past are what brand you who you are, but your personality and love towards others do. So she never judges people. Well, not out loud anyway. Like I said, she keeps everything to herself, especially her thoughts about others.

One thing Victoria hates about herself is her fuse. She is easily angered, but has levels of anger. Sometimes she gets angry, but she keeps it to herself. She might go somewhere alone and take out her anger one some random object. Sometimes, when she sees someone getting harassed or bullied, she isn’t afraid to fight. When fighting, she is merciless and powerful, opposite to her normal self.

When, if, Victoria ever opens up to another person, they might realize she is a comical, kind, caring person.

Bio:
Victoria was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Many people doubt her when she says this because of her rather pale skin. She always looked more like a person from Alaska.

Victoria’s parents were terrible. Her father became hooked on drugs only two years after Victoria was born. He was abusive and cold, hitting Victoria for every wrong she did. Little or big. Well, that was until she turned ten. Her father died from an over dose. The funeral was tiny. Practically no one came. Though deep down, Victoria knew she should hate her father, but she does not. She loves him, and always will.

After Victoria’s father’s death, her mother shut herself down. She started drinking, and showing up home drunk. Her mother would say so many nasty things to Victoria when she was wasted. When Victoria would tell her what she had said, her mother would refuse to admit that she had said those things, and would call Victoria a stupid, useless girl. Her mother blamed her for her father’s death. Victoria believed her.

Victoria was 13 when her powers emerged. Somehow, Victoria’s family problems had leaked out to her school. People would tease her mercilessly for it. Victoria never understood why people acted this way. The first thing she would have expected would be pity. But she was dead wrong. She would get chased home, people screaming, “Ya! Go home to your drunky mother!” and much worse. It wasn’t too long before things got physical. One day, she was chased home from school. A couple of guys had cornered her in an alley. One got in close enough the land a punch on her cheek. Suddenly, the pothead not ten feet away exploded, water gushing everywhere. It enveloped her assaulters and sucked them into the sewers. They were found dead, four days later.

Since they were all dead, no one knew it was Victoria who had killed them. Victoria did not know what to make of her new powers, so she started practicing. She learned that her powers were triggered by extreme concentration and powerful emotions. She also began to take lessons on martial arts by using the money she mad with her part time job. For a while, Victoria kept her powers a secret. Her few friends wondered why she always disappeared from school right after the day ended. But, Victoria ended up caving in. She told her friends of her powers and demonstrated them. Victoria learned later that week that those people were not her friends. They told everyone, and soon Victoria’s little secret was out in her third year of high school. The bullying increased. Another incident happened.

Victoria had discovered a new route from the school to her house. It was along the beach. When Victoria had thought she had lost the bullies, she would walked along the beautiful beach to her ‘home’. But a group of her tormenters followed her even farther. They attacked while she was walking on the beach. They shoved her to the sand, and harassed her in ways she doesn’t like talking about. When one had gone too far, a giant waved erupted from the sea. It covered all of them, including Victoria. The wve sucked them away from the poor girl, and swept them out to sea. Far out to sea. Onlookers saw how Victoria clung to the sand, completely dry, despite the wave having washed over her. Shaking, she ran home, and sobbed. The bodies of the bullies were never found.

Victoria was a senior when the incident happened. She never made it to graduation. They took her suddenly, and she was never missed. Her mother told her while she was being dragged away, “Just one less burden.” It is this that makes Victoria so shy and shut out.

So begins...

'It looks like no one has started cooking yet... I suppose the responsibility will fall on me then...' Arian thought as he stared at the kitchen. He quickly opened the fridge and allowed a small smile to form when he found some beef. He opened another cupboard and found a lot of instant noodles cups as well as canned foods. Nodding to himself, Arian quickly boiled some water and put as many cans as he could inside his bag. 'The bag is too small... Perhaps I can ask the others to find a bigger bag to put these in...We shall need them later...' With that thought in mind, Arian put the remained cans on an empty table nearby.

"You... you're Arian... aren't you?" A meek voice said, instantly made Arian wary. He turned around. Oh, it was just the blonde haired girl. 'But... how does she know my name? I don't exactly go around and tell it to the first person I meet...' Arian thought in confusion. The girl began to come closer and the moment she leaned in, Arian realized what she was. 'Sage!...Another joke?!' He quickly put his hand in front of the girl's mouth "My apology but... I don't kiss illusion..." Just as he thought, the girl disappeared with a POOF and Arian found himself alone in the kitchen again.

The kettle whistled, telling Arian that the water was hot enough and Arian quickly filled the cups with water. He brought them to the living room since there wasn't enough space in the kitchen anyway. He placed them down, still steaming. Then, the shadow user opened the cabinet and took out the medical kit, placing them on the table so he wouldn't forget about them later. It was important that the group at least had some medicines '...just in case...'

"We should put our clothes in here. If and when this family gets back... it's certain they will call the police. And finding a mass amount of dirty clothing lying around could connect back to our escape... It won't take to long before the government is informed and they can easily find traces of DNA on them. If they don't suspect no more than one or two robbers then I doubt it'll get any further than a standard in-home invasion."

The female with black hair said and Arian found himself agree with her thoughtfulness. He quickly retreated to take his clothes in the master bedroom. As he was about to close the door, a thought hit him rather violently and Arian snatched the pen as well as a stack of paper, a pair of scissors, two shirt, a pair of pants and a scarf. He shoved them into his bag. The bag was fulled now so he might have to find another bag later. He existed the room and came back, putting his clothes in the black plastic bag like the girl told him to and leaned against the wall to take a short break.

"What up party people? I miss anything?" A boy walked into the living room, speaking loudly. Arian stared at him cooling and took a nearby instant noodle cup as well as a pair of chopsticks. "Not much, I'm afraid... Here, I cooked something... Eat before it gets cold..." He said simply. He tapped the wooden table loudly to get everyone's attention. He cleared his throat and said awkwardly, trying to appear more friendly.

"I...well, I cooked something for everyone... I have first intended to cook something healthier but there aren't many healthy foods in the fridge left and I want to save them for later so..." He swallowed, his voice faltered slightly "...So I'm afraid we will have to eat instant noodles for now." He took the cups and began to give out to everyone in the living room. As he was about to take one for himself, a voice whispered in his ears and Arian turned around to look at the speaker.

"About what you said earlier. I think we should... I don't even know most of anyone's name. Perhaps we can start now."

Oh, yes, he almost forgot about that. He opened his mouth but was beaten by the blonde haired girl. She said meekly, clearing her throat in a manner that remained Arian of himself when he was nervous "If we're going to run away from the government together, I think maybe we should at least know each other's names. ...I'm Austen." He decided to save the girl's nervousness and so, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Stepping forward, Arian stated calmly, eyes sweeping to look at every person in the living room "...My name is Arian Ceasar. I'm 19, will be 20 in a few months' time... My power is Shadow Manipulation. I have spent about a year and a half in C-CLASS..." He paused, choosing his new few words carefully. "I like silence, normal people that don't support discrimination, windy weather...and sweet food. I dislike noises, discrimination, being caged, people that judge the others before they know them...and sour food. My dream?...I don't have a dream yet. My goal is to get away from the government and maybe... have a fresh start or something..." He ended his speech lamely and stepped down, glancing at the group to observe the others' reactions. Arian looked at the person next to him, silently asking them to continue. It would be best if they got to know each other... even just for a little bit.

Sage couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Arian with the illusion. "Arian... I figured... you'd like it." His voice was unusually warm, but after befriending someone, Sage's cold exterior washed away. It might have taken a while, but it did. He'd gratefully take the noodles and eat them before noticing the bag on the floor. Nodding he would make a mental note to grab his clothes from the bathroom later. He examined his leather jacket curiously. It seemed to fit him, and it felt comfortable enough to wear. He was glad these guys seemed to know how to shop... that was... the owners of the house.

"I won't go around telling my powers or weaknesses...but... my name is Sage." He'd state clearly. He had personal reasons for not saying powers or weaknesses. What if someone was to turn on them and use their weaknesses to advantages? No... that could wait until later, when he would trust. Motioning around the room he'd give a wide smirk. "If this is a party... then I'm out." Of course he meant nothing by it, but hey... it was better than that cell.

"I'm 20 years old... and my name is Sage like I stated before. Before anyone gets the wrong Idea about me, I'll tell you flat out, I'm an ass..." He'd chuckle casually. He felt like he was in first grade when they had to go around the room and say things like this around them. "I like beautiful women...so ladies...take your tops on." His smirk would get wider, "Obviously I'm a male," Pausing he'd lift up his shirt all cocky like. "Keep your pants dry..." He'd add on as he lowered his grey and black stripped tank. Finishing his noodles he'd roll his shoulders. "Of course... like any of you I hate the government, and people who turn their backs on people." Finishing his speech, he'd look around for some booze and find a nice bottle of whiskey. "Don't mind if I do." He'd say to himself as he opened it and inhaled the fumes from it.

He'd put the bottle to his mouth and start drinking. Out of the corner of his eye He saw Sonya and chuckled putting the bottle down he'd cross his arms and give her a cocky little 'I notice you' kind of wave.

He'd pick the bottle back up and start drinking once more. Ah... the taste of good Whiskey.... nothing like it. He'd think to himself happily as his body started warming up a bit more.

Lizzy was mostly ignored by the rest of the group, something which suited her just fine. She trailed silently after the rest of the group, hanging around in the hallway for a moment or two while the others went to find food or change clothes or bathe or whatever they were going to do. The house... It reminded her briefly of home. When had her parents time to change and update the decor? Or better still, why should they when teenagers so often lost control of their abilities? Incidents were all too common. Two weeks before Lizzy's trial, her brother Eddie had almost burnt the house down in a flare of testosterone. But it was home, and they would have it no other way.
The blood manipulator bit her lip. What wasn't to say that a family like her own was living here? Struggling all the time, but somehow managing to keep it together. A nice home, lots of kids... Lizzy pushed her reservations aside as she moved further into the house. No, her parents would understand. They would be glad to help them.

First; fresh clothes. Someone had said it earlier; they needed to disguise themselves. They needed to hide their identities. Lizzy found her way into the bedroom of a teenage boy. She wrinkled her nose slightly; there was certainly no difference between mutant and normal boys in the respect of their rooms. She rummaged around for a while, chancing on a clean pair of baggy combats in a chest of drawers and a belt. Further searching revealed an old backpack, into which she stuffed several t-shirts, long sleeved tops and another pair of jeans. She located a discarded hoodie and a scarf before exiting the room before she had an awkward conversation with one of the guys.  A brief scout into the girl's room yielded a vest and some better fitting t-shirts.

Lizzy quickly stumbled upon the bathroom, but apparently there was already a queue; the red-head girl was standing outside looking impatient. With a slightly strained smile, she slipped around the other girl in search of somewhere else to wash. Eventually she came across an en-suite bathroom in a downstairs bedroom, and there she took her time washing until she was good and clean again. She checked the medicine cabinet, and finding, to her delight, a fully stocked first aid kit and iron tablets.
The raven haired girl roughly towel dried her hair, dragging a comb through her hair and tying the front up and out of her way. Next the pants, tightened around her hips with a belt, slipped the girl's vest top over her head. She debated the jacket and her boots for a moment or two, before deciding that the jacket could be tweaked and the boots were too tough and sensible to leave. She slid the black jacket over her bare arms. Eventually Lizzy was satisfied with her appearance; that of a grunge-y kind of teenager she supposed (fashion was never really her thing).

Lizzy popped an iron tablet on her way into the sitting room, noticing that some of the others had already assembled here. She had barely sat down when one of the boys, Adrain, or something, came out of the kitchen with instant noodles for all. She accepted hers with a small smile nd a thank you.

The group started introducing themselves; Austen, Arian, and ugh, Sage. She balked as she realised it was her turn.
"Uh, I'm Lizzy. I'm twenty. Sent down on GHB and I can control blood."

Wow, is this dude for real? Kleo thought to himself after Sage introduced himself. He couldn't help but chuckle. After Lizzy went, inching a bit away from her after she mentioned blood control, Kleo casually sat on the floor, leaning his back against a wall. "What's up guys. I'm Kleo. Age twenty one. As for what I do?"

He couldn't help himself. He grinned at Sage one second, then to everyone else in the room, his body went limp and unconscious. At first nothing happened, but he quickly took control of Sage. To all the others, even Sage who was clearly aware of what was going on, Sage began to behave differently. "Hey baby." Kleo said, making a sexy face towards Austen. "How's it goin'" Though soon after he could taste the whiskey that the man was drinking. "Whoa, dude, geez that alcohol!" Sage's voice said, disgusted. Kleo sat Sage back down safely before returning to his own body. "Blegh! Agh, god..." Kleo's body came back to life as he stood up, almost gagging. "I can still taste it...ugh." Kleo went to grab his cup of ramen. "Well, that's pretty much all there is to me any who. Next person go..." Making loud slurping sounds as he ate his ramen, Kleo intently listened, genuinely interested in who these people were, while still trying to rid his mind of the bitter taste.

Sage blinked as his body was taken control of. Glaring he'd give a wild smirk. He didn't tell anyone his powers... he wasn't going to....though.... revenge is a dish best served cold. He'd continue drinking the whiskey before giving a wink. "Careful what you do to others, you just might not like their drinks." He'd say taking another drink in front of Kleo.

Though no one would notice it, he was practicing his powers on Kleo, it was time for some sweet revenge. He'd muster up an illusion, though Arian might notice what he was doing, the kid had been around him for a while. The illusion would show stacks of bills on the table, along with cigarettes and whiskey. A little further up would be a juicy burger, looking steaming hot and fresh. Behind the boy he would hear a bark, and then a small boxer puppy with tan fur and a black nose would run up and sit in front of the boy, his tail wagging furiously.

As he focused on the illusion, he'd wait for the next person to speak.

Riley had been searching for the kitchen for quite some time waving his hand at most people he had bumped into, he looked at the shower line and he ran his hand through his greasy black hair. "Meh, I'll take a shower last," Riley said, he navigated his way to the first floor of the building and noticed the group having a little talk session. Riley's stomach growled, kitchen is first priority though and he started to speed walk from the group ignoring the ramen.

The kitchen door was already open and it had seemed the person cooked the instant noodles inside here, he raided the pantry trying to find something to eat until he found the food his was looking, Pop-tarts. He tore the box and ripped through the silver bag containing the pop-tarts and he started to gobble them down, after he had eaten two he looked at the living room and started to head towards there still eating the pop-tarts.

Riley entered the room and plopped himself down on a nearby chair and gulped down his food before he spoke, "Well... I am Riley, Riley Nguyen and I'm sixteen years old, my power is kinetic absorption and my weaknesses are fire, water, and lightning also I am extremely scared of bugs and heights."

Austen balked as Sage - or Kleo - spoke to her, contorting his face in a strange way she supposed was meant to be seductive. Her eyes darted wildly and she took a few steps back. Luckily, it was over in a moment and she slowly returned to the group, wanting to hear what they all had to say. Lizzy; blood manipulator. Kleo; possession? Sage; unknown. Arian; shadow manipulator. Riley; kinetic absorption. Wow, what a group they were, and that wasn't even all of them.

"I suppose you should know my power," Austen said a bit quietly, unused to calling attention to herself. Without making sure anyone had heard her, she walked to the kitchen and returned with an apple. "I can age anything that's made up of living cells, including people." Austen gingerly took off one of her gloves and held the apple in her hand. It took a few seconds for it to deteriorate to nothing, just dust falling through her fingers. She wiggled her fingers, enjoying the feel of air on her skin, but then plunged her hand back into the glove. "I can't control it, it just happens when something or someone touches my skin. So, please, keep your distance, I don't want to accidentally take some of your life."

Erin ignored the boy's near-nakedness with a scoff and pushed herself inside to shower. The water was wonderfully warm, but every few seconds, she turned it down, suddenly feeling a bit too heated. The whole situation wasn't exactly great on the nerves. Stuck with a bunch of shy morons it seemed, or snarky males. She knew she shouldn't be so quick to judge, but at the same time, she didn't feel any safer with this group than she would be alone.

She dressed and ran her fingers through her long hair, wondering if putting it up would be safer for them since her hair did draw attention. She eventually did pull it up in a loose bun at the nape of her neck and since her hair was still wet, it was darker. For a bit, she would blend better.

Finding everyone downstairs in a strange gathered circle and looking so much more like a regular group of teens, Erin paused to listen, frowning at the display Kleo made with Sage's body. Remaining on the stairs to watch, Erin sat down and rolled her eyes. Introductions -- like the first day of class. She wasn't into it. After only a minute, she ducked into the kitchen.

Finding a cloth tote bag meant for groceries, Erin began grabbing supplies. She had seen other bags with the group and figured a few others had had some intelligence to grab essentials. At least food. Erin took a can opener, a knife with a sharpener which thankfully had a sleeve, some utensils, soap, and moving back to the stairs to search the bathroom and bedrooms, she heard more introductions which she forgot almost immediately.

Female products, two towels tucked under her arm, some change, a roll of pink ribbon, hair ties, a belt, a tie...Erin found another backpack too. Well, more of a duffel bag she supposed. It looked military. Perhaps the father had been a soldier.

Hopping back down to the group, Erin walked through them to the where she supposed the back door was. Indeed, she was right. And along the wall, a door to the garage. Here she found tools and rope. Wonderful. Erin greedily filled the duffel with bungee cords, some twine, a hammer, nails, a canteen that hadn't seen daylight for years it seemed, and a small hatchet. She wasn't keen on weapons, but couldn't rule out that they may need to fight. Otherwise, it was good for perhaps cutting down wood if they decided to stay outdoors and needed warmth and a fire to cook with.

When she returned to the group, she dropped the duffel down hard. It was heavy and she glanced over to the closest young man, Sage, she thought his name was. "You can carry that, yeah?" she asked, pointing down to it.

Victoria listened intently to what all of her new comrades were saying. They had started introducing themselves when a boy, half naked, walked in. Victoria, being her innocent self, turned her head away from the partially bare boy, feeling her cheeks flush pink a bit. She was sitting cross legged on the couch, paying attention to all of the introductions. The girl, Austen, kind of scared her. When the dust settled on the floor, Victoria looked back up at her, as if saying You gonna clean that up?

Victoria’s head turned over to the boy who talked funny. So his name is Jason… Victoria shrugged. When there was an awkward pause, she swallowed that large, annoying, non-existent lump in her throat. Taking a shaky breath, she brought her eyes back up from the ground.

“M-My name is Victoria. But you can call me Vicky, Vivi, or just V. I don’t care.” As long as it’s not vulgar. She added in her head. “I-I’m 17, though I’m turning 18 in a few months. I was in C-CLASS for about a year, but I’m not too sure… the days were blurs and I lost count.” Her voice was full of pain. Her cell was located on the farthest end of the center, for behind the cell walls, were pipes. Pipes meant water and water meant she could use her powers. So she was stuck far away from everyone else. She was watched by at least one person 24/7, and they practically dehydrated her to death, barely giving her enough water to survive.

“My powers are… umm…” She looked back down at the ashes on the ground, then to everyone’s wet hair. She straightened her back, and spread her arms out in front of her, hands in fists. Closing her eyes, and opened her hands, and raised them up slowly. All the water in everyone’s hair was pulled out and formed into little sphere’s above their heads. Then, Victoria brought her hands closer together and the spheres floated to the center, over the coffee table. Then lowering her left arm, the water sucked up the ashes and carried them back up. Then, she pointed to the kitchen and the water sphere zoomed out of the room, right past someone’s head. Victoria listened intently to the loud splashed that ensued, indicating that it landed in the sink. “My powers are water manipulation. Its takes a lot of concentration and it tires me out a bit.” Victoria let out a sigh of relief and rubbed a bead of sweat that had developed on her forehead.

Glancing down, she grabbed the last Ramen Noodle cup on the table. She ate it hungrily; the fruit she had eaten wasn’t enough to suppress her hunger.

(Sorry it's so short, I just needed to get something out before I went to sleep)

She had eventually took an available seat on the sofa.

There was Austen. Another male -- Arian Ceasar began to talk. Shadow manipulation. Likes... Dislikes. His interest fits him.
The sly gesture Sage gave to her did not necessarily get her going although it was pleasant to see him getting 'friendly'. And by his words, it was plain to see that he truly knew who he was and didn't deny it. But she liked that. A man that was able to openly express himself without a care in the world. For now his powers remained unknown but maybe there was a reason behind it. Perhaps she could figure it out. Or maybe he would slip up. She batted her full thick eyelashes until returning her own ' 'notice' you as well look still unsure of what to make of him. Sonya continued to watch him for a moment as he confiscated a bottle of whiskey and began to down the burgundy burning liquid. Without wanting to, her cerulean orbs traveled over to the current speaker.

Lizzy, a blood manipulator. A few questions popped into her mind, for a second she thought about asking but another person quickly took the reigns before she could get a word out.

Kleo. The one whom she had not got off on the right foot with started to speak. All the way from his idiotic plan of wanting to steal a car which would not work because there was no way all of them would fit in a standard five or six person car. To his offending comment of calling radioman the only competent one. That did not sit well with her. But she did not know him, and now was not a time for making accusations. Hell, the two could end up becoming good friends. Possibly. As he continued on with his words Sonya perked up a bit because she was interested in his ability.

When his body went limp and completely still, her first thought was to help but a couple of seconds later Sage had began to act unusual. Bending her eyebrows in confusion brought an understanding memo until the whiskey bit. Just seconds ago Sage was drowning in it now all of a sudden it became disgusting. But everything became clear after Kleo suddenly came to. He was still commenting on about the taste but she had plenty of sense to conclude his ability has something to do with possession. That could become a potential problem so she made mental note to keep an 'eye' on him.

The second Asian man rejoined the group hand in hand with poptarts. Oh how she hated those things. Again Sonya learned more about the cast. Riley Nguyen. A bit young. His ability of absorbing energy.

Soon the blonde was talking again. This time having the initiative to explain her ability. It was fascinating yet something like can be looked as a curse especially if she could not control it. Not being able to touch anything or be touched and she meant that in the most non-sexual way possible. How could she hug another person, or participate in daily activities with others. Candidly, it did make her reflect on her own powers. As far as keeping distance; check. Maybe the two could have a personal conversation at some point.

Out of the corner of her eye, Sonya could see the silhouette of the red-head as she left the room abruptly. Thinking it was a bit rude of her to just ignore the group as they were finally trying to come together. It annoyed the hell out her especially when she returned with a large bag, urging Sage to carry it without even introducing herself. Figures.
Next up was the eccentric and somehow stylish Asian male. Jason Parks. A generic name for anything but a generic guy. Jason seemed liked the kind of guy who would be a fun person to hang out with. The guy was like a living tape recording with an endless amount of cassettes. She would bet her last dollar that sound effect people would kill to have him. And it was times like this when she did not understand why all supernatural beings were considered dangerous. If anything, Jason was more likely to make someone pop a gut from laughter than with pain.... And there was probably so many other great things the bunch could do.

A bit of surprise came over her features once the quietest of the bunch began to talk. Sonya noticed a bit shuffling over her words. Nervous maybe. If she could help by making her feel comfortable then she would. Still watching, a grin graced her lips once Victoria commenced her powers. It was beautiful. Being able to move water according to manipulation. The woman brought her hands to her damp hair. Now soft and completely dry. Victoria's power was definitely a wonderful gift to be bestowed -- in her eyes anyway. After the show was over. It appeared to be her turn.

"My name is Sonya Blake. I'm 19 and I was in C-CLASS for about five months." Not nearly as long as some of the others but it was long enough.

So far so great. Even the display of powers were being shown, she thought why not demonstrate her own.

Glancing around the room, she spotted a small pocket knife lying on the coffee table. Leaning up from her spot to confiscate, the woman opened the utensil. Carefully slicing into the palm of her hand urged a trickle of warm crimson liquid to spill. The cut was not that large, only enough to display what she needed. Holding her hand out as the wound began to seal slowly together. The torrent of pain now seeping away.
"I have the ability to heal myself and others. It has its drawbacks like any other. But as far as I'm concerned anything pain related like cuts, broken bones, burns are all within my means... I've never tried it on anything supernatural besides my self."

Sonya grabbed a Kleenex from the box stationed on the table to dab at the loose blood. Waiting for the next person to continue.

(Okay, so I lied. Really wasn't expecting all of this .-.)

Epiphany walked into the house and observed it. She gasped lightly, she was defintly going to regret doing this. The house was lovely, it gave off a comfortable, warm feeling; something she hadn't felt in years. She had saw that some people had apparently taken a shower, and gotten new clothes at it too. The thought of taking a shower nearly made the teen jump with joy.

Epiphany located the stairs and walked up them, as she knew all rooms were up there. Said girl found a room that was obviously for a teenage girl, the amount of pink in the room was dreadful. Her eyes drifted over to the open closet, which was filled with clothes. Her closet used to be like this, until it was reduced into only one thing, the uniform she was wearing now. Epiphany ran her hand through the tangled mess of hair on her head, and began to select clothes.

She took out a pair of jean shorts, a white sweatshirt with a navy anchor on it, a matching purse, matching earrings, and a pair of navy slip-ons. Feeling happy with what she choose, she headed out of the room and to the nearest bathroom, which was in the master bedroom. The door to the bathroom was opened, so she knew no one was occupying it. The girl entered the bathroom, turned on the shower, and stripped herself of the dirty uniform. After folding the uniform, she stepped into the shower and sighed in ecstasy. The warm water felt divine against her skin. Epiphany lathered her hair with a bottle of shampoo nearby and washed her body with soap. After the shower, she dried herself off and put on the clothes she choose.

The wavy-haired girl headed downstairs just in time to hear people introducing themselves and their powers. So far there was Arian, Sage, Lizzy, Riley, Austen, Jason, Vicky, and Sonya. She was sure happy that the girl Vicky had removed the water from her hair with her power, she made a mental note to thank her later on. Everyone's powers were very interesting, Epiphany was even a bit jealous of them. Deciding it was her turn, she thought of words to say, as she wanted it to be quick and simple. Once those words were found, the girl cleared her throat.

"I'm Epiphany Everdeens, and I explode." She spoke, hoping she wouldn't have to go too into her power and explain it. She wanted to remain the person that no one paid any mind to.

Arian listened attentively to the group as each person began to introduce themselves. 'Austen, Lizzy, Kleo, Riley, Jay, Vivi, Sonya, Epiphany...' He watched impassively when they began to demonstrate their skills, keeping a sharp eye on Sage when he began to use his power on Kleo. 'Well, he isn't a child and he surely isn't my responsibility...' Arian thought, gulping down the last drop of broth and put the cup down.

Giving Sage a stern glare, Arian spoke up, pretending that he didn't know what his friend was doing. It would be best if he didn't get between that rivalry or whatever that was. It would only end up as a lose-lose situation. "Your powers are all very...impressive" He said and dusted his hands before taking out a piece of paper along with the pen he took from the master bedroom. "...Since we have quite properly... known each other, let's discuss on what to do next"

He paused and looked at the group again "Everyone, please contribute your ideas, I shall write them down and we will discuss which ideas are the best in this current situation and which ideas are not..." He sat down on a small chair nearby and placed the paper down. Frowning thoughtfully, Arian tapped his index finger on his chin. 'What should we do now? Hiding isn't really an option... There's always a chance someone will find us and report us...Blending in is also only temporary...There's a reason why the group is in C-CLASS after all...They can't blend in...' His eyes swept across the group again and he resisted the urge to sigh.

'Well, there's always the option of joining in some sort of organization to protect ourselves... A rebellious group or something...' He was quickly against the idea 'No...Too dangerous, also... there's no guarantee that we will receive the protection we need...' He hummed, and opened his mouth before closing it again 'Maybe...but no, still too risky...' Another part of his mind whispered and he imagined a tiny version of himself hit Arian on his head with a bat 'Do you have any better ideas? I'm willing to hear...'

Arian sighed. It was true that he didn't have any better ideas than it but still, the idea still ticked him in a wrong way for some reasons. He looked around. Well, the longer they stayed here, the more dangers they could be in. He couldn't afford to hesitate in these sorts of situations. Made up his mind, Arian began to talk, his voice betrayed nothing of his doubt. " I think we need to discuss three problems... First of all, where to go right now..."

"In my opinion, there are two courses of actions available right now. One, we can hide in the forest or in a remote area until everything calms down a little bit. However, by doing so, we will knowingly limit our actions since we have to blend in and do everything in our powers to make people stop noticing us. In addition to that, we can always get caught again if we do something unusual. Also, there's no telling how long we have to keep that charade up... A year, two years, three...I don't know." He paused and then continued thoughtfully "...The second course of actions is to... go abroad, get away from this country. By doing that, we can hopefully avoid the government and have a better chance at having a normal life. However, the disadvantage of doing such actions is...the paperwork. We will need to create false identities, maybe even suppress our powers until we can get out of the US. It's very complicated and unless one of you know how to create false identities, we are all walking blindly right now."

He shrugged and then put the pen down, concluded his small speech "Of course, we can always go to a city and try to live there but it's a little bit risky, I'm afraid. There's a reason why we are in the C-CLASS after all. We aren't really the sorts of people that can easily blend in the crowd..." Arian bit his lips and looked at the group of superhumans "The next problem I'd like to discuss with you all is the role of each person in the group. I recommend us not finding a leader right now. We are still in a state of shock and our minds have not fully believed that we have escaped so we shouldn't choose a leader. It would just lead to some sorts of power struggles and frankly, I don't believe fighting against each other is a wise action right now."

Arian sent his bag and the red-haired girl's bag a look, continued, a little bit quieter "The third and last problem I could think of right now is...the equipment. I believe we should milk the house for all its worth before leaving it. Let's write a list of things we will need before leaving. What do you think?" He picked up his pen and leaned forward in order to writer more easily "Okay, people, do any of you want to contribute your opinions in any of the three problems? Or perhaps are there any other matters you'd like to discuss?" Arian coughed, unused to speaking so much at the same time. He would have to adjust himself eventually, he supposed.

"WILL SOMEONE SHUT THE BLOODY DOG UP?!"

Kleo shouted, interrupting the discussion and Arian frowned, looking up. The other male gestured wildly at the empty patch of air in front of him and Arian's frown deepened. The teenager glared at his friend and said, still appeared as calm as ever "Sage, stop it." He said, the displeasure made itself known in the shadow user's voice. Usually, he disliked using this voice but in this situation, when they needed to be completely serious as their lives and freedom were on the stakes right now, there was no room for pranks and jokes.

"Final Destination...." Another voice said and Arian found his attention shifted again. He focused on the owner of the voice - Jay. "New York, New York! The goal is New York City. It's close, it's big, a bit pricey, but hey. It's the Big Apple, right? Why shouldn't we get a slice?" Arian tapped his chin, a thoughtful look crossed his feature. Well, New York was closed but liked Jason said, it was big...Wouldn't that mean the chance that someone found out about them became bigger? 'But the most dangerous place is the safest place, too...' He looked at the group of people and mused 'Can they really blend in? Can I really blend in?'

"All I need, is the air I breathe, and a place to rest my head, Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. I'm not the thief who grabs your purse. I'm not the guy who jacks your car. I'm not down with people who steal and hurt others"

The air suddenly went deadly still the moment Jay stopped talking. Arian slammed his fist on the table, a soft but unexpected sound as the wooden surface creaked under the pressure. Arian's expression was unreadable but his mind was reeling with rage. The stress from the escape, from the attention he was receiving and from the unexpected and unwelcome role he had forced himself to be made Arian's mind snap under the pressure. The carefully built wall to hide his emotions came crashing down and Arian leaned forward, his face was still emotionless.

"Tell me, Jason...What is your power? Can you make money out of thin air? Or can any of you have that ability for that matter? And when I said 'money', I mean 'real' money, not an illusion" Arian glanced pointedly at Sage right now, daring his friend to contradict him. Sage would know better than to fight Arian in this state of mind. "Can you make food then, Jason? Or perhaps heal our stomachs to the point where we don't need food to survive?" His voice was still soft but there was a steel edge in it as his gray eyes bored into Jason's eyes, trying to take a better look at the other male.

"Are we going to beg for money or food on the street?...Or are we going to rob other people?" He tapped his chin again and gave a soft sound of faked surprise that couldn't fool anyone "Perhaps you are suggesting that we should kill them and take away the money in the dead bodies?! That sounds like a fascinating idea!" With each sentence, Arian's voice became softer and softer until it was just barely above a whisper, dangerous like a predator on a bad day.

Arian, for his part, could feel his power flicker and weaken because of his emotions and the teenager put a hand on his forehead, trying to wrestle with his emotions to bring them under control. The proceed took totally three minutes. When he felt relatively calmed enough, Arian continued, his voice had mostly turned normal now though the displeasure was still hung thickly in the air "...Jason, remember what we are and what our situation is. What you said, it's an insult toward me as well as the others in our group. You are not the only ones to have morals. We do, too. Do you honestly think we don't feel bad for doing this? Do you think we are so amoral that we don't remember our own families while we are stealing from this house?"

He carefully chose his new few words, trying not to let his emotions slip into the conversation and the dam that he had carefully built for himself bent underneath the pressure again "What we are doing is wrong, I realize that and I believe everyone in this room realize that as well. However, we are doing this simply because we don't have a choice. We can't live by eating thin air. Everything needs money. Food, clothes, medicine, everything. We need equipment to survive! Say, you want to go to New York, right? What are you going to do when you come to that city? Remember, you don't have money, you don't have food, you don't have a single identification paper on your backpack, you don't even have spare clothes. How are you going to survive?" He gestured toward the group and added "This is not a small group by any means. There are eleven of us and we will need money to survive at some points. Do you think it's a good idea to use our powers to earn money? While we are hiding from the Government?"

"I... I'm with Jay. New York is a good idea; big, loud and full of people, human and like us. And I think we should leave as soon as." A shy voice whispered and Arian looked at Lizzy as the girl blushed meekly. That was good. Arian didn't think he could deal with Jason any longer without blowing up. He breathed a little heavily but still tried to maintained his firm control over his emotions "I will write the idea down, we shall come back to discuss it after everyone has contributed their ideas" He wrote the words neatly on the paper, briefly remembering the note he had put in the master bedroom but quickly brushed it off. No one could have recognized his handwriting except maybe Sage.

As Sage began another drama, Arian ignored him. Dealing with Jason and Sage at the same time was too much for him, even Arian knew that and he didn't have the patience nor the time to deal with Sage's tsundere-ness right now. "I vote we leave the country. Fake ID's are easy. If we leave the country then, no one in New York will be able to notice us. I mean think of this, New York, in the USA where we are now... we can become the governments most wanted. The governments most wanted does not just get to stroll out into the streets in broad daylight." Arian nodded, thanking Sage silently for his support of the teenager's idea. He asked calmly, eyeing the group again "Do any of you want to say something else?"

Sonya would listen as the last woman vaguely explained her power. Blowing up. Does that mean there was a possibility of blowing up others if close enough? If so then it would be best to keep her calm at all times.

Again Arian began to speak. He was becoming quite talkative although the same could be said about her as well.

'In my opinion, there are two courses of actions available right now. One, we can hide in the forest or in a remote area until everything calms down a little bit. However, by doing so, we will knowingly limit our actions since we have to blend in and do everything in our powers to make people stop noticing us.'

The brunette would definitely not want to be in a dirty and unstable environment again.

'The second course of actions is to... go abroad, get away from this country. By doing that, we can hopefully avoid the government and have a better chance at having a normal life. However, the disadvantage of doing such actions is...the paperwork. We will need to create false identities, maybe even suppress our powers until we can get out of the US. It's very complicated and unless one of you know how to create false identities, we are all walking blindly right now.'

Neither did she want to be forced to leave the country as Plan A right away. It did not come down to that point yet. And even if it did Sonya was unsure of whether she would be able to do so. False identities was something they needed anyway especially if they were planning on interacting with others. So many opinions... So many personalities... So little time...

'The next problem I'd like to discuss with you all is the role of each person in the group. I recommend us not finding a leader right now. We are still in a state of shock and our minds have not fully believed that we have escaped so we shouldn't choose a leader. It would just lead to some sorts of power struggles and frankly, I don't believe fighting against each other is a wise action right now.'

That seemed a bit funny especially considering he was sounding more and more like one every time he talked. Arian had a lot to say, he had strong opinions about things. So far it felt like he wanted to assume that 'leadership' over everyone with his constant words of directing people what they should do next. Trying to be the voice of reason. Something so big as leaving the country was her first and valid point. That was not a part of the plan before the escape happened. In fact, Sonya could recall Dodge saying something about New York. If he mentioned anything about leaving the country then she was not so sure she would go along with the plan. So far she did not agree with any of his opinions. Not leaving the country and definitely not living like rats in a forest.

'The third and last problem I could think of right now is...the equipment. I believe we should milk the house for all its worth before leaving it. Let's write a list of things we will need before leaving. What do you think?'

What equipment could they possibly need? Were they going on a camping trip? All they would need was clothing and water/food. At least he was asking for opinions.

'WILL SOMEONE SHUT THE BLOODY DOG UP?!'

Kleos' sudden outburst caused her to purse her lips together in confusion. Until he seemed to calm himself down after Jason questioned it. He was definitely an odd one.

'The goal is New York City. It's close, it's big, a bit pricey, but hey. It's the Big Apple, right? Why shouldn't we get a slice?'

That voice. Dodge.... No. It was only Jason again using his ability to get his point across. Those were Dodge's exact words before the escape. There's millions of people in New York City. There's hundreds of vicinities. Blending in wouldn't be much of a problem there. It's not like they had signs painted on their foreheads that said 'Supernatural being'. And it isn't like they faced any deformities. Everyone was human. Everyone looked human. As long as no powers were being displayed then it wouldn't be a problem. Obviously the clothing ordeal was taken care of for now. A part of her began to think about the 'thing' she and Dodge talked about if the plan worked. There was sill a bit of reluctance. She did not know anyone of them well enough to offer up hospitality. But Sonya promised Dodge that she would at least try. So if the group decided to go with New York City then and only then would she mention her 'part' of the plan. Jason concluded with the lyrics of Ray Charles, and words from the infamous Tupac Shakur.

Aloud sound of something hitting another caused her to flinch slightly.

'Tell me, Jason...What is your power? Can you make money out of thin air? Or can any of you have that ability for that matter? And when I said 'money', I mean 'real' money, not an illusion.'

This guy was beginning to rub her the complete wrong way.

'Can you make food then, Jason? Or perhaps heal our stomachs to the point where we don't need food to survive?'
Which each and every new sentence her views on Arian were beginning to change.
'Perhaps you are suggesting that we should kill them and take away the money in the dead bodies?! That sounds like a fascinating idea!'

'I vote we leave the country. Fake ID's are easy. If we leave the country then, no one in New York will be able to notice us. I mean think of this, New York, in the USA where we are now... we can become the governments most wanted. The governments most wanted does not just get to stroll out into the streets in broad daylight.'

Shut up... Shut the hell up she wanted to say. But it wouldn't do any good to cause anymore tension.

'Say, you want to go to New York, right? What are you going to do when you come to that city? Remember, you don't have money, you don't have food, you don't have a single identification paper on your backpack, you don't even have spare clothes. How are you going to survive?'

How the hell would they survive in another country? Were all their problems just going to ameliorated because they left the country?.... No. It was stupid and irrational. Didn't Arian understand? It didn't matter where they went. Russia, Japan or the United Kingdom. They still faced the over all problem of money. And the second flaw with Arian's bright idea was how were they going to leave the country. Flights to other countries can run anywhere from five-hundred to five-thousand.

Did Arian have the ability to fly everyone out of the country? No.

The government wouldn't release names she was sure of it. At least not yet. In fact it was more than likely that the government would try to cover this thing up and keep it away from the public like they always do. If word got out that an escape at C-CLASS happened it would set off disaster in the communities. They were probably still trying to figure out who had escaped and who had died in the process. It didn't matter if they went to another country. The government could still find them. It was just a matter of time and apparatus.

Returning her gaze back to her hand and removing the tissue much to her surprise there was no blood staining the tissue. The blood looked coagulated. Almost like a oile of strawberry jelly. Slowly the blood returned back to it's liquefied form, forming a small puddle as it gather in the cup of her palm. Bringing her eyes up to Lizzy, the blood manipulator indicated that she had something to do with it. A small smile found its way on her lips. Again she applied the Kleenex this time allowing the blood to be absorbed into the tiny compartments of tissues.

When the familiar yet clearly annoyed voice sounded off, her eyes traveled over to the culprit. Sage. All but happy about the still unknown red-headed woman wanting him to lug around a bag that she packed. Some audacity. Not that she completely understood, Sonya could understand why he was a bit upset by it.

Their powers were plenty to be lugging around. Carrying extra and unneeded baggage would not only weigh them down but would add more to their list of crimes. Not to mention a bag of that size looked very suspicious.

'So miss Sonya... if you can heal others.... why don't you come try it on me?'

As soon as she heard her name Sonya spotted Sage leaning against the wall. He wanted her to heal him. She never tried it on another supernatural being before and obviously did not want to pass up the opportunity to experiment on him. Releasing a steady breath, the brunette stood up from the couch. A rush clambered though her body as her eyes came into contact with his. "I can try...."

Taking slow steps over to Sage it was then that she noticed how handsome he was. From his pale alabaster like skin, to his crystallized emerald orbs and rich onyx locks. And due to the height difference, she found herself having to crane her neck up a bit to look at him. It was difficult keeping her gaze on his because truthfully they intimidated her. And never had she felt that way when looking into a persons eyes. So she looked down at his frame, not finding anything that needed assistance.

"Where?" Her voice low, keeping it just between the pair.

The others seemed to be looking at Kleo as if he were insane. Jay had even asked where the dog was. "The f- Are you all deaf and blind?! It's right--" He looked back to where the dog was, and it had seemed to vanish into thin air. "But....b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but..." He looked around, everyone at this point ignoring his mad ramblings. "But....where did...." He swore there was a bunch of food on the table that he figured someone else had prepared, but that seemed to vanish too. "And the...but what..." At this point, he had resigned himself to be a lunatic, as everyone else did, so now he had no choice but to simply vanish into the background as the real adults continued their discussion of the issue.

And it was all quite valid. After all, going to New York didn't sound like a bad idea. It was really their only plan. It's not like they could just break into people's conveniently empty houses forever. But then Arian blew up with his own rant.

Wow. Kleo thought. And I thought the Sage dude was bad...

"Do any of you want to say something else?" Arian finally concluded.

"Yeah." Kleo piped up. "How 'bout you're nuts." Some people seemed to give him weird looks at that comment. "There was a DOG-- Look, that doesn't even matter!" He got up from his corner and looked directly at Arian. "First off, we get it, we're all feeling oh so terrible about stealing from this family. We know if we want to do anything we'll have to steal and crap." He then turned to Jay. "And he's right. We're criminals after all for all intents and purposes."

Kleo leaned back a bit, turning to the group. "But, leaving the country will be way too much noise, especially when we're a group this big. Security at the airport will have us in cuffs before we reach the airplane. Crossing the border into Canada's no good either because camera's and security guards are gonna see us and we'd just be followed. No matter what we'd be leaving a trail. Leave the fake ID's to me." He pointed to himself. "Making fake documents, birth certificates, credit histories, are no problem if you know how to beat the system like I do. All I need is internet access for a good day. Not too difficult for someone like me." He then folded his arms. "After that, we'd just have to live out our normal lives like normal people as best as possible. Use cash only, never fill out applications online, stay away from anything that could attract a camera crew, and essentially make as little splash in the pool as possible. That's my plan anyway."

Austen turned her head wildly, from one end of the room to the other. Everyone was saying what they thought the group should do, turning the discussion into an argument. Then Arian began to yell, and the young mutant retreated quickly. She couldn't think; this was too much. Isolation was how she lived, before and during C-CLASS. This was all too overwhelming. Austen skittered out of the way, making room for Sage and Sonya to slip by. She tensed and moved further away as Arain stalked past.

Completely and utterly confused, Austen grabbed the backpack with her stolen goods and raced up the stairs and down the hall. She slipped into the girl's room and sat down on the edge of the bed. Directly across from her was a full length mirror with pictures taped around the edges, filled with happy faces and memories of good times. Austen turned away, not wanting to feel sorry for herself and her lack of friends. If she wasn't careful, she could easily slip into a depressed sate of mind.

What the hell was she doing? She had never done a wrong thing in her life, and here she was wearing an unknown girl's clothing with a bag full of belongings that weren't hers. Jason was right, she shouldn't take these things. It'd be difficult without them, but who was she to take them? While everyone was preoccupied, Austen emptied the contents of the backpack, placing it all back where she'd taken them from. Finally returning the bag to it's rightful place, the blonde walked into the nearest bathroom.

She examined her reflection in the mirror, her eyes roving across her reflection. Her skin was paler than usual, and she was skinnier - otherwise she looked normal. The clothing was even her normal style, aside from the too loose jeans. Austen undid her braid (since it was dry now), allowing her natural waves to fall around her face. She looked normal, human even. But she wasn't and never would be.

How did she get in this situation, anyway? She was in a family's house, wearing someone else's clothing, staring into someone else's mirror. She was with people she didn't know that didn't get along, with no plan of moving forward. As far as she was concerned, none of the plans seemed plausible; they'd get caught in a matter of days - perhaps less. It seemed like none of them knew anything about hiding.

Flicking off the light, Austen walked back to the group, gulping down deep breaths. She started talking before she could convince herself not to. "Guys," she strained to make her voice heard. "We can't just walk into New York City, settle down, find a nice normal human and live a normal life. We are fugitives. The government is looking for us right now, dammit. Hell, maybe they're on their way here. Eleven mutants do not just walk away from C-CLASS and live to tell the tale. They will hunt us down and they will kill us or haul our asses to somewhere worse then C-CLASS; somewhere where we'll wish they had killed us.

You're all trying to live out some fairy tale! We are not safe, and we won't be anytime soon; maybe never. I know what Dodge's plan was, but we are on the run. We are on the run from the most powerful people in this country. And you all need to stop treating it like some fucking game. This is our lives we're talking about, probably our families lives as well. We cannot just fly out of the country or stroll into New York and forget we were ever locked up in the first place. I know some of you probably were around people that accepted your powers. There are even some famous mutants, and places that our kind our treated like normal people. But we are talking about C-CLASS; do you not remember what happened in there? What they did to us? We are not humans to them; we are abominations that should not be in society. We are animals to be caged and experimented on. They will not just simply forget about us and leave us alone! Now, can we all treat this seriously, act like grown ups and come up with a plausible plan? Otherwise, we're all dead."

Plan? Of course he had a plan! Who did he think he was?

Clothes. Eat. Leave.

hehe...

Eat. Pray. Love.

He smirked slightly at his own joke, tying up the laces on the boots he picked out. Briefly, he wondered if leaving without the majority of the group was still a bad idea. Yes, if they got caught, their numbers would be decimated. And Jay knew the strength of numbers. But...he didn't know that everyone else wasn't planning on going to NYC. With all the talk of staying in the woods or going abroad...none of that was part of the plan. Certainly not his plan! And there wasn't a law about changing your mind...and it wasn't like he would be traveling entirely alone anyways. At least Riley and Kleo would be with him. Besides, even though he didn't hate anyone yet, he wasn't buddy buddy with anyone either. If Arian wanted to get arrested for passport fraud or get caught up by the TSA, then fine.

Austen came over, shooting off more questions about what his plan was.

"We can't just walk into New York City, settle down, find a nice normal human and live a normal life."

Yes, I can, Jay thought sullenly, but he didn't say anything. She continued ranting, going off about experiments and such. Jay had only been at C-CLASS for a few months, so he didn't have to deal with anything too extreme. The most was maybe repeating complicated audio sounds (which weren't complicated at all), and them attempting to change his frequencies. None of which hurt. Just annoying.

Besides. He actually could walk into NYC. He had a place to stay. A place with his name on it. And so long as he continued paying rent to his landlord, no one was going to tell.

And even if that didn't work out, he had a couple friends. Some who knew of his abilities and were sympathetic. He could stay with them.

HE had a plan. A plan for himself. A plan that would work, for himself. Money wasn't a problem. He had plenty in both of his accounts, and his paypal. He banked digitally. Everything would work out. For him.

The problem was the rest of the group. Did he want to stay with them? Even though he wanted to leave, there was still an undeniable safety in numbers. Even if they got caught, if he could just outrun them, he'd have a better chance with all of them as distractions than if he was by himself.

Sighing, he crossed his arms, standing straight as always, and looked at Austen. "The plan....one. Catch a bus to...New York, New York! Two....cute and cuddly, boys....and figure out...our next move....on the bus. Multitasking? Hellooo. Three....Welcome to New York....execute...that plan...."

He repeated her words from earlier: "We cannot just stroll into New York and forget we were ever locked up in the first place" before adding "You must not be from around here....Have you seen it? It's huge!" He gestured to all of them, "Us?....Cellophane, Mr. Cellophane. Walk right through me. You don't even know I'm there!"

He switched voices, quoting a book series he used to read a few years ago, which pretty much summed up his sentiments: “I love New York. You can pop out of the Underworld in Central Park, hail a taxi, head down Fifth Avenue with a giant hellhound loping behind you, and nobody even looks at you funny." A bit off in terms of context, but they should all get the point. As long as they kept low, no one would even care that they were mutants. It wasn't like there was a list with their names out yet. Hell, he wasn't even sure C-CLASS knew they were gone yet. Jay was all but certain that New York was the way to go.

Austen felt...clear. She was off the drugs they kept her on, there was no more experiments; the pain that kept her delirious was gone. The adrenaline rush from the escape had left her system, and the whirlwind of headache inducing emotions had finally began to seep from her bones. Austen felt more like herself than she had in years. It felt wonderful, but also frightening.

Her blue-green eyes swept the house, considering all of the people before her. They all acted so casual, as if hiding in a city or another country was all it would take to fix this situation. They needed new names, new identities, places to hide, a plan of action. They were running from their previous captors, not moving to a new city.

Feeling the rush that had encouraged her to begin her tirade fall away, Austen slouched against the wall. Her body was so weak these days, it didn't take much to wear it out. "I understand, I understand." She said softly, waving a hand towards Jason as he finished speaking. "I just don't understand why everyone isn't treating this more seriously."

Austen's back released more of her weight, leaving her with only the wall to keep her standing. She observed the group once more, recalling all of their powers. Wouldn't blood manipulation be high on the government's priority list? Or human fucking possession? That power could be an endless recourse for the government. Then a thought struck her; their powers did warrant tests, but perhaps they hadn't gotten to them yet. Or maybe they'd only just began; after all, some of them couldn't have been in C-CLASS more than a few months.

"Were you not experimented on?" Austen asked to no one in particular, weakly pulling her hair away from her eyes. "Did they not chain you to your bed? Or take you into the labs nearly everyday and study you? Don't you have the scars where they sliced you open to study your innards? Were you not caused pain to see how your power reacted; or to other emotions such as sadness and grief?" Austen closed her mouth quickly, having not meant to say so much about it. However, she quickly continued as she felt her energy leaving, and the clear head she'd had only moments before retreating to the back of her mind.

"Look, I'm sorry for my outburst, truly. But that place was hell - worse than hell, actually. The reason I escaped when I did was because they were discovering something big; figuring out how my brain was somehow in charge of the aging process, not my skin. Given a while longer, and they could utilize that power, perhaps, and who knows what would happen. I'd be locked up till I died. And I will not, ever, go back there. I'm done with those bastards and their damn studies. So I'm sorry I have little faith in simply relocating."

Austen felt a little numb as she slowly sat down, trying not to move too quickly. Her head was pounding, and her eyes had begun to ache. Her system was unused to living without the drugs and she was paying the price. She rubbed her temples roughly, trying to alleviate the pain.

The tension was palatable. Blue eyes fixed on Arain as he verbally shot down Jason. The words to defend the Korean were strangled in her throat and frozen by her tongue. The dark haired woman remained silent, keeping the observations she thought obvious to herself. Jay may have been opposed to taking more than they needed, but Lizzy had no intention of emptying her backpack. Clothes and bandages could be easily replaced. They would hardly be missed. The theft might not even be reported. On the other hand, if they simply ransacked the place, they ran the risk of drawing local police attention as well as the feds and whoever else was after them at this stage. On top of that, if this was a military family, it wasn't unlikely that they would have locators of some kind hidden in valuables, and the cash marked.

Jay stood to leave, Kleo and Riley joining him, and Arian, regaining his composure a little, left the room. Sage and Sonya had also disappeared during the fracas, not that Lizzy cared. She stood, heading to the kitchen with the bag in hand, throwing in a couple of cans and biscuits. She'd been on family camping trips; food was always a good diversion when people came close to trading blows. They would be glad of it later, of that she was sure. She slung the backpack over one shoulder, re-emerging as the blonde, Austen, was attempting to stop them leaving, apparently backing up Arian.
At this, Lizzy scoffed loudly. Shame, she thought the girl might have more brains that this. Jay explained his part of the plan, smiling slightly at the Percy Jackson quote.
The blond suddenly looked tired and completely drained. She backed down, and Lizzy suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for her. She'd kind of gone on the run before when she was a kid. Sure, she had no powers and there was only herself, her brother and her parents, but it was something they had always needed to be prepared for. People don't like change.

"Were you not experimented on? Did they not chain you to your bed? Or take you into the labs nearly everyday and study you? Don't you have the scars where they sliced you open to study your innards? Were you not caused pain to see how your power reacted; or to other emotions such as sadness and grief?"

Lizzy blinked. Wow, the girl had been through the mill.

"Twice." It was abrupt, but the shyness was gone. "My entire family are mutants, so they thought I was different. First time it was to see how much anti-coagulant I could fight. The doctor touched me and nearly died. One blood clot in his heart, the other in his carotid artery. It caused a stroke. The second time, they tested how I react under pressure. They came close enough for me to make them pass out. Then they have the problem of trying to slip me something without my noticing."
A faint smirk appeared on her lips, giving a small shrug. Hey, she was proud of her gifts. She looked to Jay for a moment; they were still going now, right?
When she looked back to Austen, she was sitting on the floor. She looked back at those ready to leave. Don't go without me, goddamit.

The bag was dropped and she approached the blonde. Lizzy could sense her abnormal blood pressure and heart rate, final lingering traces of all kinds of nasty stuff in there too. She sat beside her for a moment or two, frowning as she fumbled with her ability for a moment or two. The iron tablets hadn't gotten to work yet, obviously. She couldn't touch her skin, which made things awkward. After a second or two, she simply held out her hand. Austen's ability didn't work through gloves, right? Lizzy was pretty sure hers did.
"My mom has migranes the whole time." She spoke softly. "It's kind of like dealing with that, really."
It was completely up to her; if she didn't want Lizzy to help, then she would just stand up and head out with the others. If she did, Lizzy would normalise everything as far as she could. Which mightn't have been much; drug withdrawal wasn't all just funny blood pressure, but it could help her a little bit.

Victoria’s head hurt. A lot. All these ideas and emotions crowded into a group of young adults’ minds. Victoria felt her jaw clench when Arian brought up morals. You should not be talking to me about morals boy… Victoria’s eyes bored holes into the ground as her fists clenched and unclenched as her temper flared as well. He stormed off after an outburst, behind Sonya and Sage. Victoria sighed and rubbed the back of neck.

Then Jason left with a few others after giving a quote from Percy Jackson, one of her favorite books. Austin brought up how much she suffered in the C-CLASS. “Stop bringing that shit up, ok? What do you want from me? Pity? We all had terrible lives in there. We know what it’s like to be caged and screwed with like we aren’t human.” Victoria snapped, which is very unlike her. She felt her breathing come out in angry huffs. All the water bottles in her backpack started vibrating violently, making her bag shake. She grabbed one of the straps and slung it over her shoulder. “We need to keep moving. I don’t think we should stay in New York forever. Soon enough the gov is going to place bounties on our heads, and people will not stop until we are strapped down for the rest of our lives. You’ll be surprised at how low the human species can get.” Her backpack continued to shake, and it grew with her anger. She stomped out and slammed the door behind her.

As soon as she got outside, Victoria felt guilty. What she said had been rude. Very rude. Victoria rubbed her forehead and sighed. Sitting on the porch, she opened her back and pulled out a water bottle. She was about to open it when it just exploded. She yelped and sprung to her feet and landed a few feet away. She blinked a few times and picked up the shredded remains of the plastic bottle. It took her a moment to realize she did this. “God Damnit!” Victoria growled throwing it to the ground. She plopped back down onto the front step and put her head in her hand. Her head lifted to see the leaving group of kids and Victoria brought her knees up, and rested her chin on them, staring into the ground. “I’m probably useless to them anyway…” Victoria muttered to herself as she brought her hand up, pulled the water that had splashed onto her off of her body. It formed a sphere. Victoria looked at the suspended liquid, and blinked a few times.

She closed her eyes, and visualized something. As her eyes remained closed, the water moved and swirled until it took shape of a musical note. Victoria opened her eyes and stared at it, blinking very slowly. ”Hmm…” She let the water drop, and opened up her bag and took out the old iPod she took. She jammed the buds into her ears. Victoria hadn’t heard music in a while. She didn’t care what came on, she just wanted a catchy beat. Hitting shuffle, a large smile creased her lips as she opened her mouth and sang with the song:

I lie here paralytic, inside this soul
Screaming for you till my throat is numb
I wanna break out I need a way out
I don't believe that it's gotta be this way
The worst is the waiting
In this womb I'm suffocating

Feel your presence filling up my lungs with oxygen
I take you in
I've died

Rebirthing now
I wanna live for love, wanna live for you and me
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

Rebirthing now
I wanna live my life, wanna give you everything
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

Right now
Right now

I lie here lifeless in this cocoon
Shedding my skin cause I'm ready to
I wanna break out, I found a way out
I don't believe that it's gotta be this way
The worst is the waiting
In this womb I'm suffocating

Feel your presence filling up my lungs with oxygen
I take you in
I've died

Rebirthing now
I wanna live for love, wanna live for you and me
Breathe for the first time now
I come alive somehow

She did not sing the entire song, but her voice was full of passion and power as the lyrics spoke of pain and separation and loss and love and… so much more that Victoria put into it. With her eyes closed, Victoria was oblivious to the world. When the song ended, she turned off the iPod, and stood up, feeling so very much better.
