Description

Victoria Lee Marlink

Age:
17

Gender:
Female

Appearance:

Image

Victoria is not of the largest stature, being only about 5ā€™4ā€™ā€™ and weighing only 105 pounds. Her skin is soft and a bit on the pale side. Though under her skin are lean muscles that can pack quite the punch. Her hair is a dark brown that reaches just above the small of her back. It is usually slightly wavy but maintains a straightish look. Victoriaā€™s eyes are a stormy gray with a bit of a greenish hue, but if one were to focus enough, you would be able to see dark blue flecks in her irises. Her lips are a light pink and her teeth are bright white.

Victoriaā€™s usual outfit consists of jeans and a tank top, with a hoodie or denim jacket. She always wears sneakers and a necklace that she never takes off. It has a silver chain with a light blue gem. A strip of silver winds its way around the gem like a snake.
Image

Disruption:
Victoria was taken for multiple murders caused by drowning. Though none of those killings were intentional, that doesnā€™t matter.

Power:
Water Control
Victoria has the ability to control the element of water. She can move it, shape it, levitate it, and pressurize it into powerful blasts. With it, she can do an assortment of things. Many things she hasnā€™t discovered yet.
By channeling the water, she can swim quicker than a normal person would be able to. Though this isnā€™t very helpful, except for bragging.
Victoria can pressurize water into strong, forceful blasts to knock foes back or off balance.
She is experimenting with trying to use water to increase her punching or kicking strength by using it to boost the speed of the attack, therefore increasing the power. She has had a bit of success, though she has long from perfected it.
Victoria hopes to evolve her powers and learn to control ice as well, but every time she has tried she has failed miserably. Though she continues to try.
But, if there is no water source, Victoriaā€™s powers are completely useless. She would need something along the lines of puddles, a fire hydrant, or a body of water. If Victoria over exerts herself, she can become very drowsy and lethargic, and her mind and thoughts becomes clouded. Sometimes, if she pushes herself even farther, she may pass out.

Strengths:
-Martial Arts-
As a young girl, Victoria made sure that she would always be able to protect herself. Victoria has practiced different forms of martial arts (Karate, Tae Kwon Do, some Kickboxing, and different locks and holds) ever since, taking all of her free time to train herself.

-Singing-
Victoriaā€™s voice is sweet, smooth and melodious. Her voice is calming and joyous, and she seems to calm people with it.

-Animals-
Victoria is not sure if she considers this a strength, but she has always loved animals. She feels they are just as important as people, and would risk her life to save one. Though sheā€™s never been a big fan of spiders or bugs.

-Fast Runner-
All of those times being chased home built up Victoriaā€™s lungs, therefore she isnā€™t easily winded either. But she can be rather clumsyā€¦

Weaknesses:
-Trypanophobia-
Fear of needles. Victoria has a deathly fear of shots. Come near her with one, and she will have a spaz attack. She will fight back. She will not let you touch her with that needle as long as she is conscious.

-Iatrophobia-
Fear of doctors. The smell of cleaning alcohol reminds her of needles. She also feels violated by doctors and refuses to be seen by one.

-Xerophobia-
Fear of dryness and dry places. Victoria has always had nightmares of waking up in a desert that stretches as far as the eye could see. No water means that she is useless.

Personality:
Victoria is rather shy. She is secluded and doesnā€™t enjoy opening up to others. She isnā€™t very talkative and keeps to herself. She is one to ā€˜go with the flowā€™ and just agrees with what other people say. Though, she is very creative and intelligent, but most people just brand her as the stupidly shy girl. Victoria is also clumsy and awkward, and doesnā€™t like crowded places. She believes greatly in personal space and will not invade yours. She keeps everything private, thoughts, ideas, past, everything. Victoria is a generally all around kind person. She puts others before herself, but would still give anything to prove herself. She isnā€™t happy with being branded a ā€˜mute freak.ā€™

Victoria is physically fit, and can outrun and out match most other girls. She doesnā€™t think that your power or past are what brand you who you are, but your personality and love towards others do. So she never judges people. Well, not out loud anyway. Like I said, she keeps everything to herself, especially her thoughts about others.

One thing Victoria hates about herself is her fuse. She is easily angered, but has levels of anger. Sometimes she gets angry, but she keeps it to herself. She might go somewhere alone and take out her anger one some random object. Sometimes, when she sees someone getting harassed or bullied, she isnā€™t afraid to fight. When fighting, she is merciless and powerful, opposite to her normal self.

When, if, Victoria ever opens up to another person, they might realize she is a comical, kind, caring person.

Bio:
Victoria was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Many people doubt her when she says this because of her rather pale skin. She always looked more like a person from Alaska.

Victoriaā€™s parents were terrible. Her father became hooked on drugs only two years after Victoria was born. He was abusive and cold, hitting Victoria for every wrong she did. Little or big. Well, that was until she turned ten. Her father died from an over dose. The funeral was tiny. Practically no one came. Though deep down, Victoria knew she should hate her father, but she does not. She loves him, and always will.

After Victoriaā€™s fatherā€™s death, her mother shut herself down. She started drinking, and showing up home drunk. Her mother would say so many nasty things to Victoria when she was wasted. When Victoria would tell her what she had said, her mother would refuse to admit that she had said those things, and would call Victoria a stupid, useless girl. Her mother blamed her for her fatherā€™s death. Victoria believed her.

Victoria was 13 when her powers emerged. Somehow, Victoriaā€™s family problems had leaked out to her school. People would tease her mercilessly for it. Victoria never understood why people acted this way. The first thing she would have expected would be pity. But she was dead wrong. She would get chased home, people screaming, ā€œYa! Go home to your drunky mother!ā€ and much worse. It wasnā€™t too long before things got physical. One day, she was chased home from school. A couple of guys had cornered her in an alley. One got in close enough the land a punch on her cheek. Suddenly, the pothead not ten feet away exploded, water gushing everywhere. It enveloped her assaulters and sucked them into the sewers. They were found dead, four days later.

Since they were all dead, no one knew it was Victoria who had killed them. Victoria did not know what to make of her new powers, so she started practicing. She learned that her powers were triggered by extreme concentration and powerful emotions. She also began to take lessons on martial arts by using the money she mad with her part time job. For a while, Victoria kept her powers a secret. Her few friends wondered why she always disappeared from school right after the day ended. But, Victoria ended up caving in. She told her friends of her powers and demonstrated them. Victoria learned later that week that those people were not her friends. They told everyone, and soon Victoriaā€™s little secret was out in her third year of high school. The bullying increased. Another incident happened.

Victoria had discovered a new route from the school to her house. It was along the beach. When Victoria had thought she had lost the bullies, she would walked along the beautiful beach to her ā€˜homeā€™. But a group of her tormenters followed her even farther. They attacked while she was walking on the beach. They shoved her to the sand, and harassed her in ways she doesnā€™t like talking about. When one had gone too far, a giant waved erupted from the sea. It covered all of them, including Victoria. The wve sucked them away from the poor girl, and swept them out to sea. Far out to sea. Onlookers saw how Victoria clung to the sand, completely dry, despite the wave having washed over her. Shaking, she ran home, and sobbed. The bodies of the bullies were never found.

Victoria was a senior when the incident happened. She never made it to graduation. They took her suddenly, and she was never missed. Her mother told her while she was being dragged away, ā€œJust one less burden.ā€ It is this that makes Victoria so shy and shut out.

So begins...

Austen stared at Lizzy's hand for a moment, then slowly placed her gloved one in it. She could feel some of the warmth of it seep through the glove. It was strange to feel the warmth of someone else's skin; how long had it been since she'd felt it? Before the blood-manipulator had a chance to do anything, Victoria suddenly sprang into view, shouting at the blonde. Austen pulled her hand back quickly, pulling her body as close to the wall as she could. Victoria stormed out of the house, and Austen was glad of it; she hadn't meant to offend anyone. She was simply trying to get her point across.

Turning back to Lizzy, she took her hand once more, hoping she could help her in some way. The pain was horrendous. "I don't think we shouldn't go to New York," Austen almost-whispered, hoping to make a friend in this girl. She hadn't had one before, but she found it much easier when the person in question was also a mutant. "I just don't think moving there and trying to hide is the best plan. We wouldn't have anywhere to stay, anyway. And the streets are hardly safe. That isn't bad, is it?"

"I say... until we get the proper paperwork, and enough money....we go to New York."
That seemed logical enough. Obviously group, or of what she knew did not have any money. And she doubted that somehow a bus driver would just let them ride for free. Perhaps Kleo could posses him, hopefully he could drive. None of the others seemed to be right for the part... and Sage's power was still unknown.

'So all I say... is we stick around with them for a bit. We seem like the smart ones....plus we could always use a Healer and Shadow Manipulator.'

"But we sti-" As soon as her bight eyes watched Sage expend a rolled up sum of cash her words stopped. Where they hell did he get that? And why was he holding out on the group when all of their arguments seem to spiral around that fact?

"We have money....that can last us..."

"You've had that all this time?" She asked with an indecisive smile. A part of her unsure to scorn him for not speaking up sooner or kiss and hug his face off. Sonya would let him go on with his correlations about certain members of the group. Jason...
Jason? Was it a coincidence that he came into the room at that particular time Sage mentioned him. Surely it couldn't. Her suspicions were confirmed when the remaining group members came in right on cue as if Sage were presenting a power point. What they hell is going on. Control. Clone. Copy? No. None of it made sense. It was clear that he had something to do with but what?

Before she could ask any questions, Arian was not to soon speaking again.

"...Well, Park seems to think he's the leader or something and wants to leave as fast as possible...The others...I don't know"

"I imagine so. Ever since Kleo put that idea in his head.... That he was the only competent one." She just couldn't resist. The woman regained her strength once again and eventually found her breath. "And everyone will follow." She mumbled. "Don't talk like that. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." A quote widely used and also perfect to describe the current situation.

"...If we can get Kleo and Austen on our side, we may have more chances at surviving...Their powers are very useful. We shouldn't make them our enemies"

Sonya noticed Arian glancing at her as he said those words. Clearly he was speaking to Sage.

"...Would you like me to help you?"

The brunette offered Arian a weak smile before standing up. "I'm okay. I just got a little ahead of myself."

With soft steps, she made her way out the door with both men following behind. Glancing around the living room revealed an unruly sight. It was nearly empty. How long had they been gone? Surely not long enough that over half the group had left without a word. Taking a look at the women who remained, Sonya gave a sigh. There had to be only one person behind this. The woman walked to the front door, pulling it open with gusto. There they were. All of them standing around like lost puppies. She spotted the Asian man, Jason and headed in his direction.

"So. You're going to lead us? That's fine." Sonya folded up her arms as she stated her next words clearly and moderate."I've already said I don't trust any of you... not that you can blame me but I might have a solution to one of our problems. Just one." She held up her index before lowering it. "My parents own a penthouse in New York City. I know water and utility are run through the entire building. But that will only fix one of our problems for now. There are still going to be certain things we cant get around even if we stay there. There is no food. My parents haven't been there in years so... And we still have the problem of utensils. I'm only offering this once..."

Epiphany groaned, the arguement that had taken place between Arian and Jason was ridiculous. It was much too early to even have one, as they had all just introduced themselves to one another. And conflict was something that none of them had needed at this point. Arian left the room, with Sage and Sonya following after him. Jason had also left, Kleo and Riley following after him. Epiphany rubbed her temple and sighed. This shouldn't be happening, they were all supposed to stick together, was that not apart of Dodge's plan?

The whole thing was childish and unnecessary, and just because the two hadn't agreed on something. The woman Austen suprised her when she spoke, her voice dripping with passion as she told them about their lives before the escape. It suprised her even more when Victoria went and put in her two cents, explaining that everyone had been there and done that, and stormed out of the front door. The whole group seemed as if it was falling apart already. She hoped they would come to their senses and stop this nonsense. Epiphany walked toward to front door and stepped out. There she saw Victoria sitting with her knees under her chin, and she had been singing. After she had finished she stood up. Epiphany gulpped and spoke in a soft, almost whisper like voice.

"V-Victoria right? You have a really pretty singing voice, oh and thank you for removing the water from my hair earlier."

"V-Victoria right? You have a really pretty singing voice, oh and thank you for removing the water from my hair earlier."

Suddenly, the color drained from Victoriaā€™s face and her blood ran cold. W-was she listening to me?! Not a second afterwards her cheeks turned bright pink. She probably looked like a weirdo sitting her singing to herself. Victoria whipped around, and said, ā€O-oh? R-really? Thanks! An-andā€¦ ahhā€¦ ummā€¦ your welcome, I guess, it wasnā€™t a big deal really.ā€ Victoria let a large smile come onto her face as her cheeks turned a brighter red. Victoria let out a deep sigh, and hit her palm against her forehead, and shook her head, making her brown hair bounce around.

ā€œItā€™s justā€¦ Iā€™m justā€¦ so nervous, I guess. All of thisā€¦ m-made meā€¦ mad. And I feel really bad about what I said. I-I shouldnā€™t have snapped at Austen like that. I-Iā€™ve never been good at handling so much stress at once. I donā€™t even know how bad it is for the others. The ones actually providing to the group. I feel like aā€¦ aā€¦ free loader. Iā€™m a useless part of a jumble of unstable freaks whoā€™s powers are so much more useful than mine is. I donā€™t even know why I tried to leave that hell-hole. I have nowhere to go anyway.ā€

Victoriaā€™s stomach dropped and her heart froze when she thought about her mother. Victoria had been taking care of her mother ever since her father passed away. Victoria suddenly felt guilty and helpless. ā€œM-my mum! I totally forgot! Sheā€™s probably doing awful without me. Wellā€¦ thatā€™s what I want to think.ā€ A sudden rush of thoughts flooded into her mind. Her mother, driving while drunk, and crashing. Doing something else. Something she might regret. Victoriaā€™s fingers curled up on the side of her head, and tears flowed to her eyes. Everything was too much for her. Her mother. The memories of the bleak prison. The impending recapture. Snapping at Austen. ā€œI-I hate thisā€¦ Iā€™m just a problem to the worldā€¦ to everyoneā€¦ if I hadnā€™t been bornā€¦ my father wouldnā€™t have diedā€¦ my mother wouldnā€™t have turned to what she is todayā€¦ and I wouldnā€™t feel like this right nowā€¦ā€ She whispered to herself, letting the tears drip to the ground. She didnā€™t care anymore. She was useless. She was nothing. She was a burden. All she wanted was the group to leave her behind. To be alone again.

But is that what I really want?

Austen smiled at Lizzy's response, feeling better not only for the kind words but for her power. Her body still screamed and the hammering in her head was still present, but she didn't feel as shaky. "Thank you, really. I feel much better." She said, thinking of returning the squeeze, but she wasn't even sure if she could. Human contact wasn't something she was used to. Pulling the collar of the sweater up further in an attempt to cover more skin, she slowly stood.

Looking around as some of the people left, Austen felt ashamed. What had possessed her to yell as she had? She hardly spoke to anyone, ever. Normally she was quiet, shy, unable to look others in the eye. She wanted what was best for everyone, for everyone to be happy. And yet, she'd just shouted at them all. Austen felt anger now, at the people in C-CLASS. They'd change her in ways even she couldn't understand.

Austen realized that fueling this change in her was partly for her desperation to get out of the government's grasp. She hadn't told the whole story of what they'd done to her, or what they had made her do, and she never would. The young outcast already had enough trouble living with it herself.

Clutching her midsection tightly, Austen moved slowly towards the group at the doorway. Standing at the edge of the little group, she made eye contact with Jason. "I'm sorry. Really. I'm not myself, I can't think straight. We should go to New York."

Amidst all the talking and waiting, Jay had been thinking. Sure, he heard everything, but he hadn't exactly registered anything until he heard Sonya suggest:

"My parents own a penthouse in New York City..."

Ah, that was perfect then! Between his apartment and the empty penthouse, there'd be more than enough for all of them to stay. And Jay would have another base to stay at, in case his apartment got found out.

"That makes two of us!" he said, and he held up two fingers, "Right! I'm from New York (New York), so...stick with me! We'll be fine...Shall we?"

The bus was bound to arrive soon. It might be suspect if all of them were to get on at once, but they weren't dressed suspiciously anymore. So long as no one exited the house while the bus was here, they'd be good. Speaking of...

"Is this everyone?" he demanded, crossing his arms, "bus...soon. I'll be all right without you."

As he said those words, he heard the bus itself rolling down the road. Stuck at the stop sign, he suddenly remembered: "The Key!...Where is it??...." He felt his pockets, but realized it was probably still in the house. "Shit!" he muttered, and ran back inside, hoping the bus would stall a little longer...

He breathed a sigh of relief when Austen revealed she had the key.

He pointed at the flower pot, "Lock and....under there!" he said, hoping she understood what he meant. "Meet you on the other side?" he turned and ran back to the bus just as it pulled up, Erin already stepping in. He waved the others on. "Go, go!" he said, picking a generic voice that he hoped no one on the vehicle would recognize. He skipped in front of Kleo, who was just standing around for whatever reason, and climbed onto the bus. Before he could go further down the aisle, the bus driver growled:

"Hey! Ya still gotta pay fare!"

At first, the blond lady confused him. Who was she? Why was she helping them?

But after the money cleared, he just shrugged internally and continued onto the bus. Some human sucker wanted to help out a bunch of random teenage kids, fine on him. He wouldn't complain about that.

He took a seat near the back, staying quiet and sliding closest to the window. There were a few, shady looking characters, some old men with bottlenecks sticking out of paper-bags, and a frumpy looking woman in four layers of clothing and a missing tooth, but Jay ignored him. So far, his personal plan had gone on along perfectly. Now to execute the next part: planning on the bus.

As the unsuspecting bus made its way to the great city of lights, big apples, and anonymity, a commotion arose back at C-CLASS...

"Eleven people? We lost eleven people? Who were the idiots running the night shift? How did you let eleven of our detainees escape? One is barely excusable, but eleven??"

Staff would be fired, dead detainees collected and either discarded or kept for scientific purposes that they couldn't perform on live subjects, and the lot of the ones who tried to escape were punished with solitary, sleep deprivation, and/or starvation.

"Find them. Find them immediately!"

Yet as the scientists, officials, and staff bustled about nervously, hurriedly, and frantically, a different threat loomed over the government facility...a threat that had blossomed in the middle of the previously mentioned city, and had traveled, searching for more victims....searching for more power.....

The bus finally pulled up to a familiar stop, a few blocks away from Times Square, but finally in NYC. Jay smiled lightly, awake for the whole trip thinking. He knew how to get to his apartment from here, but he decided to find the penthouse first before hazarding a trip back to his place. That is, if the others knew to get off here. If not, he'd just find his own place. These people already had difficult telling Asians apart. There was a very slim chance he'd be recognized. At least by anyone who mattered.

He stood up as the bus slowed, and walked to the front as it stopped, skipping down the steps and waiting with crossed arms and his typical perfect posture for the others to come off.

Erin opted for a seat near the front. Less of the other C-CLASS decided to join her and she was happy for it. Plus, from here, she could see exactly where they were heading at all times. Though she was exhausted, she kept her eyes wide, back straight and attention peeled for any suspicious activity or police cars.

The ride wasn't eventful at all however. Which was good, but wore Erin out from stiffening at any little sign of suspicious behavior. Riders entered. Exited. The night fell across the sky in a blanket dotted with stars. As they neared the city however, the sky seemed to light up again, millions of light bulbs guiding the way.

When Jay hopped off, Erin quickly followed with her back and back slumping only slightly from exhaustion. They weren't home free yet. Erin nearly walked off, the cityscape familiar enough that she could have taken to being alone quite easily, except for the money. If Sage thought no one had noticed his little trick, he was mistaken. While Erin had stood guard for the them at the front, she was also watching every single one of them through the rear view mirror, frown twisting every so often into indecision or doubt. Remaining with this group suddenly became an impossibility in her mind, but simultaneously, she needed help at the start before gallivanting into NYC without money or a place to stay.

She eyed Jay, noticing their reflected postures, then lowered her arms. "Are you the leader then?" she asked, a bit unnerved by the word. She didn't like leaders really. She just wanted to be in control of her own priorities, but again, she had to use this group to strike out on her own. "Which way we heading?"

Jay shrugged at the questions. Leader? "Am I?" he asked, before shrugging again. This was just the stop they needed to get off at...nothing about leading. Besides, they were staying at Sonia's penthouse, not his. Not that he had a penthouse anyways...

He turned back to the bus, about to leave, and hardly anyone had gotten off. "Well?" he asked, "We're waiting!"

If the bus left with them...well, he supposed he could just go to his place then. It would just barely accommodate these two plus him...From 11 to 3...already?
