David Ephraim Gideon

"I don't want to hurt you!"

a character in “Supernatural living”, as played by ZacharyTC

Description

Full Name: David Ephraim Gideon

Nickname: Dave, David, Davy

Type of supernatural being: Human with Uncanny Dexterity (allowing him to react to situations at unnatural speeds; this also helps him move faster and attack at rapid speeds) and Heavy Resistance to Magic (Whatever spell that would normally kill someone wounds him, instead. It takes a great deal of effort and energy to read his mind or anything of the sort.)

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Birthday: September 7th

Height: 5'3"

Weight: 140 lbs

Physical Discription: David has completely tan skin, jet-black hair, and brown eyes. His body is lean muscle, which helps whenever he needs to use his dexterity to put up a fight (which he would prefer not to happen). His usual attire consists of jeans, a vertically-striped button-up shirt, and a pair of steel toe leather boots.

Personality: David is generally an accepting person, willing to get along with others, even if they are not human. Because of recent events, however, he usually spends his time by himself. He will not sweep a girl off her feet, but once a relationship starts, he is extremely loyal.

Likes: Music, Literature, Natural Scenery, Athletics

Dislikes: Bigotry, Violence

Habits: Standing or sitting by himself, reading a book.

History: His abilities are the product of genetic experimentation by an anonymous supernatural being to see if her feats could be transfered successfully to a human being, better enabling one to fend off hostile people who were not human. While the experiment met with success, the scientist had trouble finding a proper home for David outside her underground residence due to his own kind shunning him.

So begins...

A red, hooded 1960 starfire drove up to the front of the house. It belongs to an angelic scientist who works on behalf of an immortal considered by many monotheists from all three abrahamic faiths to be the only existing god. Whether or not this particular immortal actually is does not matter in this story. What does matter is that the person she was dropping off was a human, genetically altered with the same abilities she applied the most while living among humans. The scientist is not your stereotypical angel with wings. In fact, she does not have a set gender, or even a set of wings permenantly attached to her. She just chose a feminine form to blend into the human world.

"Well, young man, this is it! Your new home! I've waited for months for this moment!"

"Thanks, Tamar Hagar! I really appreciate it!"

"What are you thanking me for?" Tamar Hagar never takes any glory. "None of this would have been possible without our father in heaven!"

David chuckled as he got out of the car. "Right! I almost forgot that!"

"You got your Bible?"

"Check!"

"Driver's License and draft card?"

"Check!"

"Clothes, toothbrush, and other supplies?"

"Check, check, and check!"

The angel shed a tear of joy. "You know, I'm truly going to miss you, David Ephraim Gideon! You were like a son to me from the beginning!"

The young man smiled before responding with, "We'll see each other, again!"

"I know that, but not for a long time!" Tamar Hagar started the engines. "Maybe a thousand years after Armageddon!" With that, she drove off.

David missed his angelic guardian already. She has been like a mother to him since he left his parents' house. The thought of the possibility he would only see her again after his death made him feel a bit lonely. To make matters worse, chances are he would be the only human in the building. He was already shunned by his own species for being genetically altered. If the superatural non-humans forsake him, as well, David would have little to no opportunity to make any friends. He could only hope someone would accept him for who he is, not what he is. With a deep breath, he rang the doorbell. This is it! The moment of truth!

Nixie stood up, "Maybe this is another housemate."

She walked out of the living room, and went to the front door, "Hey, I'm Nixie. Come on in. I'm guessing you're going to stay here?"

Samil looked up from where he and Vermil were. "Hey. I'm Samil." He said, looking her up and down. "This is Vermil." He said, gesturing toward the girl who was practically on his lap. "And that..." He paused, looking over at White. "That's White." He said, looking back at the girl. "So, what are you? I am a Fallen Angel, obviously." He said, keeping his hand on Vermil's head. Suddenly, the door bell rang. Not knowing Nixie had gone to get it, he stood, appologizing to Vermil with his eyes, and walked to the door. Samil glared at the thing that stood outside the house, his eyes narrowing. It smells of Angel. He almost growled, and turned back around, going to the Living room and sitting back down beside Vermil. "Nixie got it." He said, looking at the ground.

Vermil stayed silent when Samil introduced her, as did White. They merely messed with each other, joking like the old days. Though with their powers. Vermil lit White's shirt on fire and White threw a ball of metal at her feet. They two then tried to ganged up on Samil but he left for the doorbell. White smirked when Vermil stared after him with lovesick eyes.

"So, mei mei~" White purred, the fur on the tip of his tail pointing after Samil. "You happy?" Vermil chirped and nodded. Then Samil came back and sat beside her. But something was off. "Yo, kid. You okay?" White asked, laying across the chair and stretched like the cat he is. Vermil merely laced their hands together and squeezed.

Then she smelt Angel. She looked to White who got up and went to the door, he peeked out behind her and grinned. "Hey! You smell of those other Winged things! The sticks in the mud!" he pointed at the human-angel thing and grinned. "Shame... You're actually cute..." he joked before he dodged a fireball. Vermil's eye was twitching and she was leaning across Samil's lap, arm extended.

"Thank you, Nixie!" The genetically altered human turned towards Cassandra with an unnaturally quick reflex to prepare to defend himself, then realized she meant no harm and jerked his body back into the position it was in just as quick timing. He had to laugh a little at the prank. "I'm David!" The young man walked inside with a smile. "I was worried that being human would end up meaning being shunned, like out there with the rest of my species! They don't really like the fact I was genetically altered by an angelic scientist!"

As he walked into the living room, David noticed someone who had similar angelic DNA, only less holy. He hardly noticed he could now detect immortal DNA. "Hello, there! My name's David!" He held his hand out for a shake.

Despite the assumption that this angel was fallen, David was not about to behave disrespectfully. It was not in his nature to hate anyone. The Lord frowns upon human hatred and wrath, after all. Besides, the young man wanted to make a good impression on the first day. Seeing that this was his new home, David might as well get used to everything while he had time and try not to be a bad neighbor.

Samil sighed. "I'm fine." He rolled his shoulders uncomfortably, and watched Vermil and White play, with a fake smile placed on his face. He could hear footsteps behind him, and wrinkled his nose to the sickening scent known as the Angel-smelling boy. "Hello, there! My name's David!" Samil heard it say. He turned his head to the side for a second before standing rather abruptly. The boy had held out his hand for a shake. Samil kept his hands at his sides. "Sorry, did I say I actually gave a shit about what your name was?" He said, fingertips tingling with heat.

White saw the impending fight and sighed. "Samil. Please take Vermil out of here." he ordered. He'd hate for his sister to see that fight. Vermil on the other hand was staring at White with displeasure. She didn't like the fact Samil was angry but it didn't give White the right to order him around. She stood up and huffed fire at White, who shook his head before smiling widely, fakely. "Hi there, David! Samil here isn't feeling well and he was all relaxed when you interrupted. Why don't you take Vermil and go flying? Vermil really wants to." White made himself a barricade between the Fallen and the Angel's toy. Vermil merely watched.

Samil was itching to fight, but when White had asked him to take Vermil away, he nearly snapped. "I'm fine thanks. If Vermil wants to fly, you should go with her. Or she can go alone." He said, frusterated that White was putting words in Vermil's mouth, saying that she'd wanted to fly. He glared at White, rolling his shoulders again. "Because, like you say, White, I'm not feeling well." He said, getting angrier. He didn't look at White again, but stared over White's shoulder at the boy. The anger inside him began to unravel. He then noticed why White had asked him to take Vermil outside. He doesn't want her to see this. He thought, clenching and unclenching his fists. He shook his head, appologizing to Vermil. "I..Sorry. I have to go." He sighed, turning away from them all and heading out the door, nearly running into another newcomer, but simply pushed past him, and stretched his wings open, taking off into the sky.

"Well, no, but, I figured giving a friendly gesture wouldn't hurt!" David could see this person did not exactly want to be on good terms. Knowing that, and seeing another person trying to avoid a fight, he let his hand fall, sighing in disappointment. "You'd think people here would be more accepting of me because of a similar scenario of being shunned or feared by mankind, and I am human, just genetically altered!" The human turned around and walked a few steps away, saying out loud, but mainly to himself, "Will I ever be seen for more than what I have become?"

His high hopes from being welcomed by Nixie fell rock bottom. Now that David knew he would have a hard time fitting in here, as well, the poor human could not help but wonder if he will ever be accepted by anyone. Normally, reciting the Beatitudes would comfort him, but this was not one of those times. He walked over to an empty couch, where he sat down and buried his head in his hands, barely managing to keep from crying. After a few moments of fighting the urge, the young man lifted his head, feeling a tear fall down on his face. Even then, he did not cry. David watched as Samil flew out.

Vermil stood, speechless before she sped off and took to the skies, following her Fallen. She looked around and panted, her body tired and somewhat sluggish. She made it up into the sky by willpower and adrenaline alone. She shook her head after feeling herself falling asleep. Don't leave me with that mess ever again... she muttered to the sky, her wings flapping hard to keep her afloat.

White merely sat beside the Angel's toy and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Hey, kid. Don't worry. Samil's just a bit touchy around the holy winged's friends... You bare their scents and he doesn't like that.. Vermil'll cool him down... Although, it just occured to me... The Symbol of Fire also stands for passion and ya know, fire... so isn't that kinda like an oxymoron..?" he asked, removing most of the angel scent as he talked. His tail was against his back and tickled his neck. It's still a shame that you're all holy and junk... You're cute and seem to be really fun..." he muttered the last part, the playboy actually telling the truth.

David nodded, brushing away the tear. "I guess you're right..." It was all he could think of to say. Maintaining his calm demeanor, the human looked around, soaking in the details of the room. At least, someone cares in this place!

Lanuya giggled. She could tell without hearing Ari's thougths that she was ready to get back home. Let's see, what else was there; she had shopped foor clothes, her kittens and for dessert that night... Yep, she had hit all the places she had wanted to. "Yes. Let's get back home now. They all must be wondering where we have gone. Perhaps there is even a new friedn we can welcome." Hoisting Sugar onto her head Lanuya lifted as much as she could carry and toddled off. "I can't wait to begin cooking. I have a special dessert in mind you're going to love! Have you ever hade white chocolate rasberry cheesecake before? Believe me, it is delishious!"

Then next few minutes were quiet. Lanuya was trying hard to forcus on her own thoughts, distracting herself with thoughts of the newcomer. Lanuya hoped her would be kind and considerate. Maybe even human. She hoped that his mind would not be as stressful to hear as some of her other housemate's minds. In her wildest dreams his mind would be calm and maybe even soothing. Though it seemed far fetched, Lanuya could dream. Suddenly she looked at her friend, sensing tireness in Arabella's thoughts. "Can you make the walk home with that giant cat tower and all those bags? Or would you like me to call for a taxi?" Lanuy asked her friend after a few minutes of walking.

White merely smiled at the now calm toy. "I'm White. You're David, no? Come, I'll bet you want to rest somewhere." He winked at him as he stood and held out his hand. "You can room beside me. Samil isn't anywhere close to you too!" Just then Kali walked in with some boy and Black trailing behind. "Hi! Black, you get turned down too?" Black merely snarled at him and left for his room. White sniggered and grinned.

Before getting up, he noticed a girl, detecting her what appeared to be demonic DNA. It did not matter to him, the friendly gesture from the girl made him feel better, even put a grin on his face. "Hello, Kaliyah! I'm David!" He then turned to White. "Okay! Thank you!"

The walk to the room helped to ease his mind. When he opened the door, David saw that it had more than enough room for his belongings, which were not that many. Setting them aside, he pulled out his Bible, reading the Beatitudes to himself while he sat on the bed. Ever since being shunned, the young man looked to this particular part of the Book of Matthew to ease his mind. It reminded him that the Lord is always with him, even when he thinks he isn't.

"White?" He queried, still reading, wanting to have a friendly conversation. "You are probably one of the legendary Chinese immortals mentioned in the folklore, right? I can detect your DNA, a side effect of the successful genetic experiment the angel Tamar Hagar performed on me. Did you, by any chance, talk to the Lord, you know, for friendly chatter?"

White was shocked. "Y-you know me?" he flushed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah... He's a bit stiff but a nice guy... Azur hates him for some odd reason..." he muttered before addressing the demonic boy with an appraising eye. "Hey! I remember you! Vermil invited your uncle to dinner one night! He's a damn good drunk, I'll give him that!" he cried, standing up. "You were here by that time but seeing the two being of the South, drunk and stupid, was awesome. Man..." he chuckled, his tail thumping against the couch.

Vermil merely flew over and hugged her Fallen. Come home soon... I'll be waiting in my room when you get back... And with that she flew home, her heart hurting just a bit. She saw her brother standing and waving his arms around like a moron. She smiled and lit his shirt again, from the back before slipping upstairs and into her brother, Black's room. It was dark, completely dark but she merely moved to the bed, recognizing this room. Brother...

"I hate white, you know that right?" was the only answer she got before she felt his shadowy form lean against her back, his face in her hair. She merely snorted and nodded. "Good... Fucking retard made me look stupid in front of Kali... She's so much like Alice..."

((A little late, don't you think, Malice? Oh, well! I'll improvise!))

Once David picked up another demonic DNA strand and heard Yakusoku introduce himself, he turned his eyes from his Bible to the future Demon King of the South. "Oh! I was wondering what that other demonic DNA strand was behind your sister! Pardon my assumption! Detecting such things is a side effect from an experiment on me!" He stood up from his new bed and shook the man's hand. "David Ephraim Gideon, human genetically altered with an angel's DNA! Pleasure to meet you! I'm a little confused, though: what did Kaliyah mean by 'turned down'?"

David chuckled before saying, "It was painful, at first, but Tamar Hagar made sure I lived through it and did not go through too much agony during the initial part of the process! She is, after all, an Angel of the Lord! Well, she uses a female form, but, like all angels, I think, she does not have an actual gender. She just chose the form of a woman to blend in with my fellow humans!" He smacked his own head. "Oh! Wait! Where should the grattitude be? She always reminded me that the glory goes to God! I mean, where would mankind and even the angels be without him, right?" The human had to laugh a little at his little error.

Ari nodded as Lanuya explained she would come along for the walk and Ari began humming as they continued the walk. They were maybe 1 or 2 minutes away from the mansion. Then Lanuya started talking to Ari but she didnt notice until she said, "Is something wrong. You seem a little off." . "Hmm?" Ari turned towards Lanuya. "Umm I'm okay... I uh just saw someone I thought I knew... Its nothing, dont worry." Ari flashes a smile at Lanuya and now they are at the steps. "C'mon lets go greet that new guy!" Ari laughs and opens the door. "Hello Hello?" Ari's voice echoes through the mansion. "Im gonna go put my stuff away... Okay?" Ari says to Lanuya and before Lanuya can say something, Ari runs up to her room.

Ari's bedroom is the first one by the stairs so she enters her room with seconds. She closes the door behind her and greets Toulouse. "Hey Toulouse! Look what mama got you?" Ari says as she gets the bowl out and opens the bag of food and begins to pour it. "Dig in, little guy!" Ari smiles and walks to grab the scratching post. She luggs it over into a empty corner and smiles. "That'll do? Right? Oh and I almost forgot!" Ari says as she pulls out a cat toy. "Here ya go!" she says and tosses it to Toulouse who begins playing with it. Next Ari begins to pull out her clothes when her hands grasp her sandwich.. "Hmm wonder if that new guy is hungry..." She murmurs and tosses it on the bed. Then Ari grabs her clothes and puts it away. She grabs the sandwich off the bed and goes back downstairs and to where everyone seems to be... She spots the new guy.. Hes tanned with brown eyes and attractive.... "Hey you must be the new guy. Im Ari... Hungry? I got a ham and turkey sandwich?" Ari says and shows him the sandwich...

White merely watched the two from his perch. "Kali likes Black more than me, tis sad but true... Though Nixie..." he interjected before falling silent again. The Symbol merely stretched out and got back up. "Welp! I'm gonna go to my room. See you boys in the morning~" he sang out before bounding out the door. Spotting Kali, he waved and entered his room and flopping on his bed.

Both Black and Vermil heard Kali. Black stayed on the bed while Vermil answered the door. Hi, Kali... she whispered, Black grunting at her to stop. I was just about to leave, maybe you can make him smile... she let the demon in before leaving and closing the door. She leaned on it before heading into her own, the sadness and loneliness hitting her square in the chest. She curled up on the loft, her nest getting messier.

Black leaned on the wall behind his bed and flicked on the light, a dull red enveloping the pure black room. A small pond filled with koi sat in the corner. "Yo..."

David's head turns at an unnatural speed out of reflex, a result of the angelic DNA now in him. He noticed the girl, a vampire by the DNA strand. How do I know all the strands? Is it an angel's instinct? He nodded and took the sandwich. The whole scenario went from good, to bad, then only got better from there, which made him smile.

"Thank you, Ari! I'm David! By the DNA strand, I can see you're a vampire! Pretty cool, to be honest!" The young man's eyes widened as he looked towards a wall. "Wow! Ever since being genetically altered with my own guardian angel's DNA, I've been able to figure which DNA strand is which just by being around people! I'll bet she knows everybody in town just by that kind of identification!" He turned his eyes back to Ari. "You know, earlier, when I arrived, I was afraid that I'd be rejected by everybody because I'm human! Despite the rough start with Samil, it turned out to be the opposite, in the end, for the most part!"

Lanuya walked in the house, her arms full of stuff. Sugar sat a top her head, mewing a warning if Lanuya was about to bump into something. Glancing over her mountain of things, most of them ingredients for the dessert she was going to make, she spotted two new faces. One was a boy who looked simliar to one the girls Lanuya had seen walking around. Her name was Kali wasn't it? Yes, they had to be related somehow. They're apperance was siliar enough to prove it. It seemed that he too had a form of demon blood running through his veins. Then there the one she suspected of being the newcomer from the red car, and to Lanuya's surprise he looked mostly human. This was a comfort as she seemed to be the only other relatively normal human here.

He was cute with tan skin and hair black as night, probably not more than 2 years older than she. His eyes were a rich, warm chocolate brown and his smile was bright as the day. On his back were a pair of wings, white as a pure soul and feathered like the soft pillows at her parent's hotel. Lanuya felt her heart felt and reliezed she had just, mistakenly fallen for the angel who stood in the living room. Lanuya focused on walking forward, embarrested for herself at she had just toppled head-over-heels for this guy she didn't even know the name of yet. 'Malédiction mon facilement influencées cœur! Pourquoi je tombe si facilement dans l'amour?' Lanuya thought, so upset she naturally began to think in her native french language: 'Curse my easily swayed heart! Why do I fall so easily in love?'

What should she do now? Avoid him? Befriend him? Ward off the emotions that were bound to follow after such a sudden attachment? Lanuya metaly scolded herself. She had always had a bad habit of falling for guys, sort of leaping before looking when it came to love. What a silly dunce she was. So flustered was she that Lanuya did not notice the side table that stood innocently before her until her tumy collided with it, rather painfully. The bags collapsed on the girl and Sugar jumped out of the way as they all fell on Lanuya. Lanuya winced, holding her tummy in pain, before she realized the mess. "Oh no, oh dear..." she murmured, flustered, blushing in embarressment as she quickly tried to gather up all the items. The breakable items were safe and sound, the problem being puting everything back into it's bags.

As Lanuya hurriedly tried to collect all the items Sugar, unnoticed, walked daintily over to the angel boy and mewed. Sharing a link with Lanuya's mind, she knew exactly how her human felt. When her little meow didn't get his attention, she pawed playfully at one of the longer and low hanging feathers on his wings. It was obvious she was trying to get his attention.

((Uh... the Bible never said anything about angels who serve God having wings, at least as far as I can tell, but okay! I'll go with it!))

Reflexively, David jerked his head towards the girl who just fell down. He jogged towards her and asked, "Are you okay?" Just then, he held his hand behind himself and felt feathers. "I have wings? Where did those come from? They weren't there, earlier!" He jerked his head backwards when he noticed another new DNA strand from behind. "Oh! Hello there! Aren't you a playful little kitten?" David turned his attention back to the damsel. "Anyway, can you stand up? I can help!" He held his hand to her.

Lanuya glanced up as the boy who stood over her. Sugar stood smuggly by him, rubbing against his leg and purring as if she was very pleased with herself. "Oh, I um..." Lanuya was stunned. He was acting very kind like a gentlemen and she was impressed. She had a lingering suspition that gentlemen had begun to die out so she was please to see at least one still existed. "Yes, please," she said softly, placing her small soft hand in his, "Thank you very much." She watched his eyes carefully, her mind focusing on his. His mind was... peaceful and almost relaxing, though hers strained to read it clearly. There was a small bit about genetic alteration that floated by and Lanuya suspected that that was the cause of her troubles. It was almost a comforting thought, her actually have troubles hearing another's thoughts. How nice.

As he helped her stand Sugar clambered into Lanuya's arms and purred, proud of herself for getting help. "Yes yes," Lanuya smiled at her kitten, "Thanks to you too." Her eyes turned back to the boy. "Well, that was an interesting way to meet wasn't it?" she giggled softly before looking back at him, "My name is Lanuya. I'm staying her for the summer. What is you name? And would it bother you if I asked you for help taking these groceries into the kitchen?" She asked sheepishly, hoisting up some bags which dangled off her arms, the rosiest pick coloring her cheeks.

Samil found himself on the ground, he somehow fell from the tree and survived. He sat up, rubbing his eyes. He didn't want to remember that nightmare, and would rather get rid of it than let it mellow in his mind. He stood, looking around. He was about a five-minuete walk away, but most liekly a one-minuete fly. He kicked a small stone, and sighed. He honestly didn't want to appologize to the angel-thing. It would ruin his way of life, his vows. He shrugged, and started to walk home.
