Rose Fieldings's Story

As all the others in the rehab center started waking, Rose had been aware of their states and businesses. She had already gotten up around three, having been plagued by her usual nightmares. After that, she had just been sitting in her armchair, staring at the blank wall opposite of her - not doing anything and not thinking anything.

Right now, however, she felt it was time to get out of the darkness. She swooped the curtains back, allowing the bright light of the sun to enter her room - sadly, it failed to illuminate her mind as well. She felt today would not be a good day. But she also knew there was little she could do about it - she would have to show her face today.

She quickly dressed in her usual black robes and addorned herself with her emerald necklace. While doing so, she once again felt the constant pain that age had brought upon her - it felt as if all her bones were constantly creaking and complaining at the slightest command her brain gave off.

As she entered the cafetaria, she nodded politely to everyone, taking in the situation immediately. She had gotten used to doing so over the past few months. She had been forced to; after all, you never knew what was about to happen here. She walked over to the middle of the cafetaria and cleared her troath.'

"Everyone, please listen up. As most of you will probably know, group therapy session is today. As things seem now, I will be leading this session, so I am expecting all of you in the usual place... Let's say, around ten. Also, please pass the message along to your friends who are not present now."

And having said what she had to say, she took her breakfast and sat at a table on the other side, distancing herself from the others.

(OOC: I hope its alright for me to "claim" the group session, if not, let me know and it will be sorted..)

Rose kept a close eye on all the people present in the cafetaria and sighed silently. She would have to warn Khael off for using her powers again. Then there was the Blair boy - but she knew he had not intended to use his powers, so she would let him off the hook for this time. She also had to speak to Jonathan - and possible the other mentors - to see who would be joining her in the therapy session. It was generally not advisable to throw yourself in such a group without some backup. Not even for an accomplished sorceress.

Without any sound, she got up from her chair and disappeared in thin air, only to reappear behind Khael. "Miss Thera. You know very well of the rules we have established in here at Algatha. You are not allowed to use your powers without the consent of one of the staff members." And with those words she turned around and walked towards Jonathan.

"Mr. Hunter, I was wondering if you would be joining me at the therapy session today. I don't feel like doing it all alone, and my relations with the other mentors are not particularly well - like you I seem to be a bit of an outcast." She looked at the table where the mentors sat chatting and laughing. "Probably the age," she added with a sigh.

Rose stood next to Jonathan as the wet-puppy-remark was uttered. She nodded her head slightly and released another one of her exhausted sighs. "Why can't they just get along. None of them are here voluntarily. And most of them did not choose to be what they are. If they keep this behaviour up, someone will have to intervene. But seeing as Ali is under your care, Mr. Hunter, perhaps it would be best if you spoke with them - maybe the group therapy session will be a suitable moment?"

And without awaiting his response, she turned around and slowly walked back to her table to finish her breakfast.

Rose entered the therapy room, where she found Jonathan and most of the patients - that's how she referred to them in her mind - who were supposed to be here. She sat down on a chair in the front of the room and looked around. Yes, this would be agonizing. She knew how much they hated to therapy sessions, which is why she preferred not to do them. The other mentors loved making their lives miserable, but she really wished the best for them. And because of that, she had something different in mind.

"Everyone, might I have your attention please?" she started, her voice clear and authorative. "I know that you all hate therapy sessions. You think of them as torture, you find them useless, you regard them as a waste of time. I think, for most of you at least, this is the first time you are in one of my therapy sessions. Today, we will do things a little different. I will not force anyone to talk about anything they do now want to talk about. You can all tell stories of your past if you want to, or you may tell us of your hopes and plans for the future, if you prefer not dwelling on the past. In return, I hope for a little good will from your side - I would hate to sit here all morning listening to the silence."

And after having spoken those words, she took out a small notebook and sat back. "Now, who will do me a favor and start todays session?"

Rayen slipped into the room alongside a group; inconspicuous. She was nibbling away at a piece of chocolate, many more in her pocket in case things got irritating or intense. Unlike everyone else, she intended to do everything in her power to get the best out of this place. It had taken a while for her to come to that conclusion, but she figured it was for the best. She was here for her own benefit, after all. Thus, she was going out of her way to keep her cool.

Seating herself in a lone chair, she crossed her legs. This is the proper way for a lady to sit, she thought to herself. Prim, proper and aloof. This was how she wanted to be portrayed. She looked around the room in curiosity, narrowing her eyes at this or that person. She was silently judging them all. Her eyes stopped on the Fae. Ugh, she always had this look on her face. As though she was better than everyone else. How irritating. Rayen chomped down on her chocolate, not wanting to let her blood boil.

Deciding it was best to distract herself, rather than let her opinions run wild, Rayen cleared her throat to speak.

"Ah, I do believe that this place will evidently be most helpful actually, Ms. Fieldings," she giggled a little at the end of her sentence. Sucking up might not help, but it definitely made her feel better about her own persona.

"This is after all a place of healing. It is no one's fault but their own if they choose to... wear a band aid, so to speak. Not everyone can be an adult about this," she tried to keep a straight face; she didn't want to appear too stuck up. She was merely stating an opinion, right?

"That said, may I be so bold as to say that outside these walls, I am more than willing to help anyone in any way that I can. Yell my ear off, if you must. I do care, you know. I certainly hope you all open up. I am ever so curious about you all," she smiled a brilliant, white, perfect smile.

Thats when Blake finally showed up. He simply sat down, and he didn't seem to to quite get. He however, took his chat, backed it up a good 3 feet, and sat down. He simply listened.

"Everyone, might I have your attention please?" a mentor said. He knew what she would say. He knew it wouldn't apply to him.

"I know that you all hate therapy sessions. You think of them as torture, you find them useless, you regard them as a waste of time. He has never really spoken in a therapy session. But he could not remember the past, nor did he ever try to. He was tired of trying things that never worked. But for once, he almost did, though he wasn't sure of people noticed.

"This is a waste of time, space, energy, and life, I don't think anybody wants to talk about why they were sent to what I like to call 'Fancy Prison.'" Blake then thought to himself "Oh please. I think they could fix one of you at least. You don't have memory blanks with memories you suffer from, and the instability that follows.

Then Rayen spoke. Blake had no doubt she was lying on a major level. He knew no one thought like that here. He continued to remain silent however. He hates therapy. Waste of time.

The only way to get him to speak in therapy would probably be by antagonizing him.

Rose listened as Rayen spoke, her eyes attentive and slightly nodding to signal that she had her attention. In truth, however, Rose's attention was with the others in the session. She had hoped for her new approach to get some useful truths, or at least some half-truths. But everyone seemed to think of her as a waste of time. Frankly, it saddened her.

"Well Rayen, thank you for being brave enough to speak up in this session. Now, could you tell me why you think you are here? Or what you plan to do with your life once you get out of here? What are your goals, your views, your plans? Or, if you prefer, you could simply tell us a tale of something you remember from before getting here."

Anything would do right now, Rose thought. And then it struck her that she might actually be the only one that hated these sessions more than the patients did. At least they could leave once they had regained control over their powers. She was going to be stuck trying to get youngsters to talk until she died. Considering her age, she guessed she had about ten more years to go.

Ali looked over as someone sat down next to him and introduced herself as Tesella, he stared at her hand for a while with an unamused look on his face, but he couldn't help but give a little smirk at her pluck for coming up and talking to him. He pulled his hands away from the arms of the chair that he had been gripping onto since he got into the room. He looked out of the window he sniffed quickly trying to at least try and get a whiff of fresh air. He realised that's what he was missing the outside although if he were to go outside he would try and run mainly on instinct.

Folding his arms tightly he looked quickly to the mentor leading the session and to the people who were talking he probably wouldn't talk in this session he'd leave it for today he didn't want to get involved. Glancing out of the window again he shifted his body in the seat to try and watch everything as well as his ears listening for every sound, he gave a soft whine without even realising it Ali hated when his wolf side leaking out in his human form coming across and whimpers and growls. H didn't mind the growls because they were defensive but the whines were pitiful almost like the aggressive wolf turned docile for a few minutes of the day.

Khael

"Can I be excused?" said Collin, before jumping up and leaving.

Khael watched Collin leave and pouted. It hadn't quite produced the effect she had wanted. But she did know that he obviously had very little self control and that could still be fun if she could get him to not just run off whenever the smell was too much. She tapped a nail against her leg and sighed lightly. She looked around at everyone as they spoke. Already she was bored. She was turning her head to look at whoever was speaking but she wasn't hearing what was being said. She even ignored the mentor. She tapped her foot on the floor.

She shifted. Then she watched Rayen. The mentor had spoken to her, right? She couldn't recall. Khael suddenly raised her hand.

"Hey, I think we should all leave!" she said brightly. "I've got better things to do." Her grin suggested that those 'better things' might not to apply to anyone laying on the other end of her amusement.

Jonathan watched as the vampire student suddenly stood up, excused himself and rushed out of the room. He frowned. Chattering commenced, and Miss Fieldings confronted one of the girls on, apparently, having caused Collin's hasty departure. There was more happening than met the eye, and Jonathan felt handicapped with no superpowers other than his strength. He gazed out the window for a moment. It seemed as if Miss Fieldings had things under control in there. Jonathan gave her a meaningful nod, as if saying, "I'll take care of it", and headed for the door to follow Collin.

As soon as he stepped out of the therapy room, he shook his head, rubbing his forehead. They were just kids after all. Kids with superpowers. And some of them still acted like it. He remembered when he had been like them - worse, even. Not everybody had come out unscathed from his own youthful escapades. The mental image of a boy so badly beaten he had to go into intensive care, popped up in his head. He had been a violent boy back then - a violent boy with dangerous powers. He had learnt to master and control the power - and his own temperament - by himself, to be able to survive, but it hadn't been easy. That was why these young people were at the rehab to learn the same thing.

They had to be able to control their powers, or the society out there would put them down like mad dogs.

He walked along the corridor, hands in his pockets, searching for the young vampire. His feet in time led him onto an intercepting course with the boy, who seemed to be on his way to the Headmaster's Office, and he nodded just once to him in greeting, as their eyes met.

"You okay?"

Rose sighed and stood up. She very well understood she would get nowhere with her current approach. And thus she decided to try another shift of tactics. She walked over to one of the windows, seemingly looking outside but still seeing her class through the reflection.

"I know none of you are here voluntarily, but you seem to misread our intentions. Or my intentions, at the very least. I am not here to play the warden of a high-security prison. I do not want to keep you prisoner. I still think of the name of this institution as being an ill choice. "Rehab Center" makes it sounds as if it is a clinic. It isn't. It's a school. We are here to help you control your powers, but can only do so if you let us."

She turned around and looked at the Khael.

"You, Miss Thera. You do not want to be here. You long back to your past situation. But, since you are here now, you decided to make the best of it by having fun, even if it makes other peoples lives miserable. And you, Miss Tiden, you believe you have never had anything, and you abhor pity. I am not here to pity you, I am here to help."

Her gaze turned a little darker while talking, and the temperature in the room turned cold.

"You are not the only ones who despise being here. But the thought that I might help you in finding your purpose in life makes it worthwhile. I already offered my help to Tessela and Rayen, so that they may master their abilities. I am willing to help any single one of you, as is Mr. Hunter. You need only ask."

Her gaze turned a little friendlier again now that she was done giving her speech, and gradually the temperature returned to normal as well. "That is all for today's session. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to come to me."

Rose then sat down at the desk and took her notebook, ignoring the students and allowing them to go about their own business.

Blake quickly stood up. However, he was the last to leave. He noted to Ms. Fieldings, before he left "You know, it would be nice if they at least appreciated you trying to help them...". He then went to the door, and added "At least they have a chance for this to work for them...I appreciate the attempt, but I don't like to work at something I know wont help, whether I appreciate it or not...."

With that, he left. Blake left for the gardens. He just needed time to think. To clear his head. He couldnt even remember his nightmare, but he felt like shit from it.

(Sorry for the short crappy post. I was trying to hint to try and get him to talk, but apparently no one got it. >.>. And the delay in posting was because I was fairly busy with stuff)

Ali stayed sitting watching as people left the therapy room, he looked to Rose and spoke " I don't wish to talk about..any part of my past around....these people...I want to keep my past..in the past" he spoke softly his aggressive demeanour seeming to fade briefly. He shook his head slightly growling at himself for being so weak standing up he walked slowly out of the room trying to follow a scent to where he was meant to be if not he could find Jonathan since he seemed to be his escort.

He thought about the idea of having an escort and it angered him, growling loudly he clenched his fists tightly. He did not need an escort he had no need for one everybody else needed protection from him. His eyes narrowed as he sniffed for a scent anything to hurt and kill. He wouldn't need the wolfs body it had taken over his mind.

Rose wasn't sure whether she had actually achieved something with today's session, but she hoped that some of the students would open up, if only a tiny little bit. She put away her notebook and got up from behind her desk. She still had some time to spare, there were no classes she had to give this afternoon. Her mind wandered to the two witches she had invited to her office, and she wondered whether they would actually show up.

She left the therapy room and made her way to her office. After all, she had no one to meet up with amongst the mentors. Those people were just as rude to her as they were to their students. She figured they should all have been fired a long time ago. Perhaps they would have been, had the students not made it necessary for so many staff members to be around at all times.

Once she arrived in her room, she sat down in her large armchair and closed her eyes. Perhaps she could catch a little more sleep, make up for the lost hours of the night. And sure enough, she soon felt the comforting waves of sleep wash over her.

Rose couldn't quite find any rest in her room. She got up, scribbled a note reading she could be found in the gardens, and started walking. She figured the young witches would be able to find her outside when the time was ready. As she walked through the corridors, the other mentors looked at her with a strange glimmer in their eyes, as if they knew she planned to teach magic to students. Well, even if they did know, they couldn't do anything to stop her. Rose prouded herself on being one of the most powerful mentors in the center. She just hoped that was actually true.

Once outside, she sat down on a bench from where she could oversee the grounds. A young student in a tree, a mentor napping on the stairs, little groups of students sitting in the grass with their books, mentors overseeing everything. And sitting there, her mind finally grew calm.

Ali growled again to himself he pushed through some doors, finding himself in the ground he calmed down as he breathed in the fresh air. His eyes turned back to their normal colour, rubbing his hands together he saw Rose sitting down and watching everybody. Snarling lightly at the thought of being watched he walked slowly away from her but sat down on a grassy hill his fingers feeling the soft grass his eyes looked around the grounds picking out any places he could go for time to himself even he needed a rest from the wolf too.

Rose had seen the events that had taken place, and moved towards the pont as Emily fell. Immediately after the splash, she grabbed the girl by her collar and pulled her out of the water. "Well, Miss Tiden. I believe that was not the most fortunate place to fall asleep, was it now? You should go inside and change into some dry clothes. And perhaps you could refrain from falling asleep in trees from now on, just to save all of us the shock?"

And with those words, Rose wandered back to the bench she came from. Many of the mentors were amazed by the speed with which she had reached the pond, especially now she was walking back with the speed that one would expect of someone her age. Once she had reached the bench, she sat down again, as if nothing had ever happened.
