a character in “Survival Academy: While Dragons Rule”, originally authored by flieslikeabrick, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Charlotte Kniepmann

Age: 17

Sex: Female

Image: Image

Nationality: Canadian

Policy: She has no strong feelings on this matter yet. She sees dragons as intelligent, intelligent killing beasts, but dislikes killing of living beings so she won't choose a side.

Strongest subjects: Charlotte is a gifted girl, she's a mathematical genius, even though her studies fell behind while running from bloodthirsty dragons, she's able to beat most teachers that aren't geniuses themselves. She has another talent as well, she can speak four languages, without any formal learning, being a girl from Quebec she speaks French, just as well as English, Spanish and German.

Description: Charlotte is a short girl, standing at 1.55m and with a really tiny frame, she weighs only 43Kg. She loves to dress in light colors in this dark world, on her feet you'll most likely find some rainbow colored, blue ones are her favorite, they match her eyes, comfortable high-tops.

Personality: She's a shy girl, and tends to get embarrassed very easily, but she's also very impatient, she wants it, and she needs it now, Charlotte will either talk people into doing something in a lovely way, the most common actually, or stare them down and convince people with her piercing blue eyes, she also has a slight tendency to slap people who make her really angry, lucky for them, it takes a lot to do that.

Back story: Born in Quebec to a German father and a Canadian mother, she remembers little of her early childhood, and she'd rather not remember the rest, her family was slowly torn apart during then ten years since the event, before these things appeared on earth, she had a mother, a father, a little brother and an older sister, now she has nothing, they all faded away with the dragons, at fourteen years-old Charlie, how she was nicknamed, lost her older sister, aged twenty at the time, she was lucky to be found by a Mexican lady, now long lost, who cared for her during almost two years, in the end, she was alone again, but now on the way to this academy, hoping she wouldn't end up alone once more.

So begins...

Charlotte was almost ready, she was awake for more than an hour, but took her time to prepare, every girl has to look beautiful for her first day in an unknown place, and today was no exception. She was now putting on her rainbow colored high-tops to finish todays look, consisting of the skinniest jeans she could find and a pink sweater. Charlotte then looked at her schedule for today, her first class this afternoon was something called 'Dragology', after a bit of wondering she reached the conclusion that it must be, no, it is the study of dragons. Hearing the noise people were making outside she figured it must be lunch time or something, she decided to quit the room.

She grabbed her over sized handbag and took a deep breath before pulling the handle on the door, it opened with a soft 'click'. She quickly got out and closed the door behind her. Seeing some people she thought to be students walking, talking or sitting around, Charlotte decided to sit on a couch and read a book, or at least pretend to read, for a while, to wait until lunch time, or next class. She located a couch not too far and walked up to it, let herself gracefully down and took a Douglas Adams' classic from the seventies from her handbag and opened the first page.

Terrence rolled over and eyed the Class calender he had tacked on the wall beside his bed and saw under today's date he had scrawled Dragology. With a grunt, he pulled the covers back and rolled out of bed, clad in a pair of knee length shorts and a white T-shirt that clung to his athletic form well enough that anyone could see the large, dark tattoo on his shoulder and upper arm. Terrence walked over to the trunk at the end of his bed and grabbed a pair of faded jeans and a long sleeve black T-shirt as he headed to the boys restroom. By the time he changed and exited, most of the students had made there way into what served as the cafeteria, waiting for lunch.
Terence went back to his trunk and grabbed his notebook labeled Dragology and a pen before following the masses as they moved towards the lunch room. Upon entering, Terrence didn't see anyone he noticed, so instead of fighting through the crowds, he decided to plant himself on a couch fairly close to the door, sitting a few feet away from an attractive girl reading a Douglas Adams book on the same couch. Terrence opened up his Dragology notebook and began reviewing what Professor Stawski had covered last time and waited for lunch to be ready.

Charlotte watched as a towering boy arrived and sat on the same couch she was, he opened a notebook and started reading it as Charlotte though 'Did he have to sit THAT close?', she was a little uncomfortable around strangers. To avoid getting nervous for no reason, she shifted her attention to the other side of the room, where three people apparently had an argument, it was way too far for Charlotte to see it clearly without her glasses, and she didn't feel like putting them on just to watch a potential fight. She watched it all stop while pretending to read her book, trying not to look at the boy sitting not far from her. After that, one of those people started walking towards the door not very far.

"Alright let's go!" Called out the first one, now in focus, he was obviously older than the rest of the people Charlotte had seen around, so she assumed he was a teacher and was calling them into class. Once the rest of the people following the man walked past, she decided to get up and follow them, going to class sounded like a good idea, well, better than sit uncomfortably close to a guy she didn't know.

As they crossed the courtyard, Elit pulled his coat tighter around himself, unable to keep chills from running up and down his spine. That was the drawback for him here at the Academy- it was always cold. Bone chillingly cold. Snow flakes bite into his unprotected face, his cheeks and the end of his nose turning a bright red color. Though Elit still looked cheery and uneffected by the swirling mass of whiteness, inside he was grumbling and cursing every step of the way across the courtyard.

Approaching the elevator, Elit bounced on the balls of his heels to keep from freezing in place, willing the elevator to move faster. You'd think they'd make machinery at a location where the Olympics might have been held go somewhat faster. As it opened, Elit paused when the doors slide to reveal a man in a suit that had seen better days.

"Professor Stawski I presume?"

"Even he." Simon replyed, gathering himself. "Were you looking for me or...?"

"Yes yes," the man answered impatiently, "I just wanted to let you know that I'll be giving todays lecture personally."

Well, this is an odd turn of events! Elit was surprised that this man, whoever he was, would simply come across Simon and put it to him that he'd be taking over his class. Unsure why, whoever this was seemed familiar to Elit, related to Simon's teachings somehow. Now why could that be?

After the two men exchanged a few more words, Elit leaned towards Simon and whispered his question, "Um...sir? Who is this man? He seems familiar, but I'm afraid I've forgotten..."

When the group reached an elevator, Charlotte watched it open up to show a short man in a suit already in it, she kept walking to close in and overheard the ending of their conversation.

"Yes yes," Areev said impatiently, "I just wanted to let you know that I'll be giving todays lecture personally."

Simon's eyes widened, and he hesitated before answering. "I...well...sure thing. Fine with me. In that case accompany us to the classroom."

"Very kind." Areev sneered, "Do lead the way."

'Well, I guess we have a new teacher.' She thought as everyone stacked in the tiny can that would take them higher, or lower, anyway, it combined two things Charlotte didn't like that much: Heights and closed spaces. Noticing how the man already in the elevator didn't move an inch to make space for the others she thought 'Suit dude is no gentleman...' then got in the elevator and moved to a corner before the first teacher she saw pressed one of the buttons in the control panel and the doors closed with a light noise, the elevator started moving up. Charlotte was wondering what could this other man possibly have to say, since it appeared to be a surprise to everyone, he probably didn't make many public appearances, perhaps he had something important to announce this time, maybe they would turn up the heating system! This place could surely use a few more degrees, it was cold even when indoors.

Charlotte was quietly standing on her corner on the elevator when the other girl in there started talking, Charlotte paid attention to her words:
"So...is it true that one of the goals is to get us to breed with each other?"
Charlotte tried her hardest to avoid burying her face in her palms, that would ruin her makeup and possibly mess up her hair. She just wished she didn't hear it, could a girl say something more embarrassing than that? Especially in a cramped elevator packed with men! Charlotte started feeling dizzy, unable to determine if it was because of the tin can ride or the other girl's words, she just pretended she wasn't there at all, then the First teacher refused to answer, that made her a hundred percent sure that it was true. 'This wasn't in the contract!' Her mind told her, Charlotte didn't really like kids, and of one thing she was sure: she wouldn't be having any, even at young age, that was a sure thing for her, kids are noisy and having them ruins your body. She completely missed what the others were talking about and hastily stepped off the elevator once the doors slid open, gasping for air. 'Breed', that choice of words didn't really help the situation either, but the academy was probably the only place she could be now, if only her family had known about the better situation in the north in the early days. Anyway, she had pepper spray, just in case.
