Maxim sat on his bike by the other cars, waiting for them to leave. He slung his rifle around his back. He tensed, getting ready to gun the vehicle. I hope the others can handle the zombies. I can't do much from my bike. The two cars took off, and Maxim gunned the engines. His motorcycle roared to life underneath him. he kept close to the other cars, almost in between them. He looked behind him, and saw the zombie had begin to run after them. He grinned, knowing that they couldn't catch up. He looked at the two cars. He grinned again and sped down the highway, following the cars towards the little town ahead of them.

Kline drove in near silence behind Kyle. He hoped the boy knew where he was leading them. He wanted to trust him, but it was hard to trust someone whom you had exchanged not even fifty words with. His eyes drifted over to the youth in his own vehicle, whom sat with him in the quiet. Maybe he could talk with this lad, ease some of his troubles, calm him a bit.

"Daniel, was it?" He said, taking his eyes from the road for a minute. "What brought you here? Surely some reason, correct? I would find it hard to believe if you were simply out in the middle of the highway..." He said kindly.

While he was waiting on the answer, he asked. "Where might you be from, anyway, if you dont mind me asking?"

"Yes, it's Daniel. I was going to visit friends that lived in this state. As I drove, I must have missed any warnings of a zombie invasion, because I didn't know until I went to my friends' places and none of them were there. Well, except one, but he was a walking dead. I took the stuff from his house and cleaned it, except the food which I stole from an abandoned burger joint. Oh and if you're wondering, I'm from Nova Scotia, an Atlantic Canada province", DJ explained, slightly long windedly.

As Maxim rode, he realized that they were driving to a town they knew next to nothing about. He decided it would be best if he scouted ahead. He fed the engine a little more gas and slowly passed the other cars. He drove ahead, until he could see the town. He looked behind him. The two cars were visible, but not by much. He slowed down and stopped his bike. He got off and un-slung his rifle. He gazed down the scope at the town ahead.

It was on the smaller side, with only twenty-five to thirty buildings. From his position, Maxim could make out a gas station, a grocery store, and what looked to be a gun store, but he couldn't tell because a building was partially in the way. He then scanned around for any people, living or otherwise. There were two or three zombies shambling around, but nothing they couldn't handle. He slung his rifle on his back and walked back to the motorcycle. The two cars had caught up to him, and began to come to a halt. Maxim got on his bike. He looked at the men in the cars. "The town seems empty, except for a few zombies. There is a gas station, a grocery store, and what looks to be a gun store, but I couldn't really tell." Maxim fired up his bike, and after a little bit, the group of vehicles drove off.

Gwen opened her eyes, but everything was a blur. She saw flames around her, and smoke was making it hard for her to breathe. She tried to get up, but she hit her head on the roof. Into the mic she said, "Black hawk down, I repeat Black hawk down. Everyone's dead, I made it and I need some assistance. Again, I need assistance."

Over her headset, a man said back to her, "Sorry can't do that, there's no place to land. But, don't get your hopes down, they're evacuating at some town not far away, if you can make it, you'll get to D.C. See ya soon."

"Just my luck, which direction is it?" she asked. "Let's see it should be east of your position. Oh and before we cut the communication, I need to tell you something. If you find any survivors, don't tell them. And if they follow you, they'll be taken care of at the evac site. Over and out."

Gwen struggled to free herself, she was in pain but it didn't feel like anything was broken. She took out her map and looked at it. "Well this is no help, I don't have any idea where I am. Better start going, and hope I'll find something that tells me where I am. Let's see east is... this way." She picked up her gun and pack and started walking east. Everything around her was trees and plants, nothing else.

What seemed like an hour, she finally saw a roof of what looked like a house. "Yes, hopefully there's someone alive there." She moved quietly, watching carefully. She didn't like the looks of the town, but it's seemed like the only safe place.

“Alright let’s go to the gas station first because it’s closest,” Kyle said and then started driving towards the gas station. ‘I hope that horde does not get here soon,’ Kyle thought to himself. Kyle pulled up to the gas station, Kyle grabbed his AR-15 and stepped out of the Jeep keeping an eye on every building while he was waiting on the others to get there.

Maxim pulled up to the gas station with the others. He killed the engine and stepped off his bike. He pulled out his pistol and checked the gas pumps with one of the other survivors. They were mostly empty, although they seemed to have enough to fill up their tanks. He wheeled his bike over and finished filling the half-empty tank. He moved his bike to let the others fill up and went to the doors of the gas station. The doors were locked, but the windows were smashed in. He climbed through and unlocked the doors. He searched the shelves, looking for anything useful. He found a quart of oil and a pint bottle of vodka. He pocketed both and jumped over the counter.

He rummaged through the shelves, finding a pack of cigarettes, a beef jerky stick, and an old lottery ticket. He left the beef jerky and cigarettes on the counter. He hopped back over and went into the backrooms. It was dark, and smelled like something was rotting inside of it. He pulled out his flashlight and began to look around. There was mostly junk, and nothing worth taking. He spotted a hallway in the back of the room and approached it. There were three doors. He checked the first room, revealing it to be a bathroom. The second room had a few chairs and a T.V. He approached the next room, and peered inside.

There were three bodies, completely torn apart. It must of happened only a few days ago, because the corpses stunk to high heaven. They were too chewed up to be zombies. Maxim quickly left the room, and made his way outside. He waited until the others were done looking around, and had gathered into a sort of circle. "Well, the gas station didn't have much in it. I was thinking about going to the gun store next. Anyone want to come along?"

Kline pulled into the gas station behind Kyle. Kyle got out of his vehicle with his weapons, and Foxchild pulled up the the pump behind him, and checked it. Empty. Near all of them were. However, it wasnt to be expected, and he had a near full gas tank anyway, not to mention his extra in case of emergencies.

He hopped out of his truck, grabbing his trusty lever shotgun, and slinging it over his shoulder. He knew the Horde that they had out run would catch up to them in maybe a day's time. Probably less. They needed to hurry and get what they could from this town, and move on. He shut the door to his truck ,and walked up next to Kyle, as Maxim walked in the station. "So. Kyle, what do you say we check out the weapon store. It has probably been looted, but by all means, anything we can get is good."

He waited for DJ to get out of his truck too. Maxim was far ahead of them, already having searched the gas station, with little results. "I will join you. Kline. You are?" He said softly as he walked next to the man.

“It probable has been looted like you said, but hey it could not hurt to look. Let’s wait for Daniel and we’ll all go check together. While I’m waiting I’m going to top off my Jeep and fill up my other gas can,” Kyle said as he took one of the pumps and started putting gas in the gas can. “So what are your plans after we are done here? Do you guys want to stay together or go separate ways?” Kyle said while raising an eyebrow.

A slight breeze blew through the street, sending something rather awful smelling with it. The town appeared to be a ghost town out of a horror movie, with rotting bodies here and there and some zombies scattered through out. The buildings were intact, but signs of break-ins were evident.

In a street nearby the gas station, Archer stood looking towards the pump while rolling a cigarette along his teeth. He cocked his head slightly, watching a few people moving around the pumps.

"You see that Baxter?" Archer said, his speech slightly distorted due to chewing on a cigarette. His dog looked attentively at him through the mostly closed window, with only a finger width of space open. "Those aren't zombies moving around.."

Archer looked across the street for a few seconds more before opening the back seat and grabbing his M14. "You stay here, I'll be back in a minute," He said in a commanding tone to the dog. Putting the strap over his neck and shoulder, he shut the door and walked towards the gas station, leaving his companion staring out the window after him.

He debated whether to watch them to see what their intentions were, or to come up front and introduce himself. But if he were caught spying on them, he could be regarded as threatening. Putting his hands up in the air in plain sight of everyone as he walked near the pumps, he called out, "Hello fellow survivors!"

Maxim heard the stranger shout. He turned around, drawing his gun out of it's holster. He looked at the stranger. He was dressed in a trench coat with a M14 slung over his shoulder. Maxim raised the pistol, but the man called Kline motioned for him to lower the gun. Maxim did, but kept it out, all the same. Maxim was tense, waiting to see what would happen. His gut told him to shoot the stranger, but he didn't want to break his new groups trust. So Maxim waited, hoping that a shoototing wasn't about to happen. They had enough zombies behind them, they didn't need anymore.

While waiting on Kline and the other guy to speak something startled Kyle. "Hello fellow survivors!" A voice called out from behind Kyle. Kyle dropped the gas pump letting gasoline spill out onto the pavement of the gas station, felling the area with the smell of gasoline. Immediately after dropping the pump Kyle quickly turned and pulled out his Glock in one quick motion. Kyle saw a man walking towards them with his hands up. He had black hair and was wearing a pair of black pants, a black T-Shirt with a black trenchcoat over it. ‘It’s weird how you can go weeks without meeting a living soul but then when you meet one person they just start springing out of nowhere,’ Kyle thought to himself as he lowered his gun but kept it ready encase. “Who are you and why are you here?” Kyle asked the man in a firm voice after he saw the M14.

"Nothing, but a bunch of plates and smell in here." Gwen was searching all around the first house she came to, hoping to find some more weapons for any one alive. So far, no success. She started going up the stairs when she heard a moan. She pulled out her Colt, and checked her ammo. Another moan came. She was starting to get a little scared, this is an enemy she has read about, but never killed. She walked up silently, but the boards still made a creaky noise when she stepped on it. This time when the moan came, she heard it come from a room on the left. It had a bright yellow color, but there was a corpse on the floor, which almost made her puke, and blood splattered all over the door. She tried to remember what it said about house cleaning in the zombie survival guide. Well she knew there was a zombie in the room, so knocking on it wouldn't do anything. Then she remember that it was going to be a close quarters fight, so she holstered her pistol and pulled out her knife. She got up next to the door, and breathed in and out slowly, but the smell made it hard for her to calm down. She turned the knob slowly, but it was locked. It made for frustrated, so she forgot everything about what not to do, backed away from the door, and kicked it down. It fell the the floor with a hard band, and a long moan came, along with a zombie. She lunged forward with the knife, and lodged it into it's head. Its body fell lifeless to the floor, and it stayed there this time.

She dislodged her knife from the zombies cranium, and cleaned it off. "Gross." She backed off from the room and went to each other room, and knocked on the doors. Luckily she didn't have to go through killing anymore. When she was done inspecting she started checking what looked like the master bedroom, she found a 12. gauge, but only a 5 shells. She picked it up, making sure it was loaded, and went to the window, seeing if there were any places worth inspecting. In the distance she saw a gas station, and hoped there were maybe some people inside. Before she turned away, she saw something moving outside slowly. She knew what it was, and it looked like there were more of them inside the houses. "I guess I'll have to wait for my move, don't wanna die here." She decided not to the downstairs, in case there were some the got inside. She closed the door and locked it and moved the bed and furniture in front of it. "Why couldn't there be 2 others with me, we could take care of those things easily." When she looked out again, it seemed they were all heading in the same direction. That means there were some survivors, she thought, I gotta go find them.

She opened the window quietly hoping not to be noticed, but it was useless. When she barely moved it, it made a loud squeak. "Damn it, how could this get worse." Behind her she could hear moans and banging on the door, "that's how." She climbed out the window and jumped down. She rolled, drew her shotgun and went into a shooting stance. Good thing they moved slowly, or else she wouldn't have had enough time to make it through a gap between all of them. She started running towards the gas station, shooting any zombies that got too close. "There better be survivors here, or else I'm dead."

DJ stepped out of the truck, his bindle swaying in the odd breeze. He slung his M4 over his shoulder and he held onto the 12-Gauge. There was a gap in the road near his feet, and a hand came out of it and grabbed him. He quickly grabbed his crowbar and stabbed the hand with the sharp end, then yanked it upwards. The hand split in half. "That was close, wasn't it?" DJ said, he regrouped with the survivors he had previously been with. "Sorry I didn't get out right away. The seatbelt jammed and I had to struggle with it for a good few minutes, but I'm okay". He saw the stranger, "Is he a threat?"

Kline watched as yet another 'youth' came towards them. What was with all the 'hardass' teenagers that had found weaponry to fight a war? He digressed. Now was not the time to start poking at others. He nodded to the newst man, before turning to Maxim. "Let's go. We dont have much time to waste at all." He racked the lever of his shotgun roughly and began to walk in the direction of the "Gun Store".

He was walking and observing around him the chances that this gunstore still had anything of use was so remote that he almost could feel it. In fact, when they had reached the door, the glass was busted in, as if entry was already forced. He reached inside and twisted the knob with one hand, and pushed the door open with the tip of his shotgun. He looked around the store cautiously, and he was right. The store's inventory was empty. Almost nothing was on shelves, or behind counters. Shell casings and empty magazines were strewn everywhere,

"Well. This place looks a bust." Foxchild said with a dull tone.

Maxim walked into the gun store after Kline. He looked around. The store was almost empty. He moved to the back of the store. There was a door marked "Employees Only". Maxim looked back at the others. " This door is locked. There might be something back there." Maxim tapped on the door, and listened for movement within. Hearing nothing, he stepped back and kicked the door in, breaking the lock. He entered the back rooms. He poked around, and found a few half-empty boxes of ammo, mostly pistol calibers. He turned a corner to check the back shelves when something lunged at him. He dropped his gun, and grappled with his attacker. He grabbed the assailant's arm and flipped them over his shoulder. He finally saw it. It was a zombifyed old man. Maxim planted his boot into the man's throat, picked up his pistol, and shot the zombie once in the head. Maxim sighed and tucked away the pistol. "Back rooms are clear!"

Sam waited a moment while the others got a good look at him, before one of the survivors nodded in his direction. Archer got the distinct impression he was the leader of this little band. He lowered his hands slightly, but still kept them away from his weapons, in case the other survivors got spooked.

"My name's Samuel Archer," He began as he slowly walked towards them. "I used to be a scientist, until this outbreak started. I'm a survivor, just like you now." Waving his hand behind him he said, "My car is in that direction. I haven't seen another person in ages; if you guys don't mind, I'd like to come along. If not, I'll be on my way."

“Welcome Samuel,” Kyle said as he holstered his Glock. “Sure you can stay with us for now,” Kyle said to Samuel as he started walking towards the gun store. “I’ll stand guard at the door so nothing ambushes us,” Kyle said as he unstrapped his AR-15 and stood at the front door to the gun store. Kyle looked into the store when he heard a gun go off. “Is everything ok in there?” Kyle asked. Kyle looked around expecting a few of zombies to come to the loud noise. But Kyle noticed that a few zombies were stumbling away from the group and towards a house. “That’s strange,” Kyle mumbled out loud.

“Hey guy’s something’s going on out here!” Kyle said loudly but not quite yelling. All of a sudden Kyle saw someone running from a small horde of about twenty zombies. Who ever was running from them was on their way to the gas station. “Guy’s get out here now!” Kyle looked back but they were in the back room. Kyle started sprinting closer to the zombies so he could make his bullets count. The person running had just made it to the road with the zombies about fifteen yards behind. Kyle stopped and dropped to a crouched shooting stance about thirty feet from the person that was running from the zombies. Now Kyle could see that the person running was female and was wearing an army uniform. Kyle unfolded the stock on his AR-15 and aimed at the closest zombie and fired a signal round into the zombies head. The sound broke the silence of the ghost town and replaced it with the echoing sound of thunder. The zombie fell to the ground, three other zombies broke off of the group and started coming after Kyle.

Maxim ran out of the back room in time to see Kyle fire at a crowd of zombies. It looked as if there was a person running ahead of them. He also noticed three zombies breaking away from the horde to come after Kyle. Maxim unslung his rifle and took aim. He pulled the trigger. He lined up with the next zombie, and pulled the trigger. He sighted up on the last one and fired. He watched as the zombie sprayed the ground behind it with pulpy brain matter. He smiled, but then noticed that there were more zombies breaking off towards them. "Uh, guys? I think now would be a good time to get back to the vehicles and leave!"

Gwen heard a shot from her side and a zombie hit the ground, she looked in the direction of the gun shot and yelled, "HEY, NICE TO SEE SOMEONE!" She pulled the trigger on the shotgun again and nothing happened. "I didn't have to do this, but..." she threw the shotgun to the ground and pulled out her SCAR L. "Hey puppies, you came to the wrong gun show," she pulled the trigger and bullets started flying out. "COME GET SOME!" she didn't let go of the trigger until the bullets stopped. She killed about 7 of them, and blew off some body parts from the others. She reloaded and remembered she has to save her shots, since she will run out soon.

She decided to go over to the group of people, "Alright, no time for introductions, so if you got a vehicle or something we should get out of here now, there are more not far from here." She looked back and her eyes got wider, more zombies were coming out of the houses and walking after them. "Come on, we gotta get out of here now!" She pulled out her pistol and started shooting, but couldn't get a shot to the head. She was breaking their arms and a few lucky shots on their spines, but that was all.

Kline groaned as he heard the eventual "Uh, guys? I think now would be a good time to get back to the vehicles and leave!" He almost knew what the words ment, and turned around, as he hadnt gotten far in the store, when he saw someone coming towards them...was...was that a soldier? She was shortly over to the group.

"Alright, no time for introductions, so if you got a vehicle or something we should get out of here now, there are more not far from here. Come on, we gotta get out of here now!" Kline couldnt agree more. "Okay, but we need to do this orderly. People with closer range weapons of course will take the front, while those with longer ranges take the back. People in the front will crouch and move at the same time. This let's people with longer range firearms shoot over them. Secondly we'll need someone to watch our flanks. We don't need to be surprised." He took a commanding tone. "And we don't have to move very fast. Damn shamblers don't move very quick themselves."

"So, that leaves me, and Daniel up front. Daniel, take out your shotgun!" He said to the boy. "Kyle, Maxim, Army Girl, you're on long range defense. New fellow...uh, Samuel, I want you to watch our sides and back, if you see anything direct one of the three in the middle to take them out." He walked towards the door, dropping to low crouch, and raising his shotgun to his shoulder, ready to fire, and rack the next shot.

DJ did as he told, taking out his shotgun. He slung his other gun over his shoulder and aimed as he approached the door. He saw several of the flesh-biters and started taking them out. He killed eight in a few sweeps with his shotgun. He only had to use a few shots, however, as the walking dead were so close together so some could be hit with only a shot. "They're thick here! Better not waste ammo!" He took his crowbar out from the bindle, even though it was the stick that held it together. One came close enough to him to be an immediate hazard so he bashed in the head of the dumb dead thing. He had his shotgun in his other hand in case he absolutely needed to use it.

(Sorry, I've been busy lately, with school and Provincials prep and all.)

Maxim fell into formation, listening to Kline. He took steady, calm shots, making sure his rounds hit their mark. This reminds me of my Spetsnaz days. Maxim almost laughed at the thought. He shook his head, forgetting the distraction. He had some killing to do. No matter how many zombies he brought down, there were still more to replace them. They had to get to the vehicles, now. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his keys. He put the keys in his mouth. When he got to the motorcycle, he would need to start it fast. He just hoped he would make it to the motorcycle.

"Alright guys, we gotta hurry this up and get outta here." Gwen took her spot, took a calm deep breath and shot one shot at a time. Trying not to waste any ammo, and only taking headshots. Shw only had one question on here mind, do these guys actually have any kind of transportation. She almost ran thinking they didn't when a man pulled out some keys. Bingo, we're good. That's all that kept her from running, knowing they had vehicles.
