Desius Leonus's Story

starter post after this everyone gets a post to introduce their character reactions and actions then i'll post the first available quest)

On the virtual screens at the sky, there was a system announcement that drew everyone's attention. Suddenly, a giant, robed, faceless figure appeared, identifying himself as Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the game and the only person with control over the game. Addressing the problem of the missing «Log Out» option, he announced to the players that he had purposely removed it from the game as another one of its features and thus, trapping them in the game.

While all the players were alarmed by his announcement, he continued on to point out that trying to forcibly escape by removing the NerveGear would result in the player's death by having the player's brain fried by the NerveGear's transmitter, which functioned like a microwave and used the internal battery of the helmet as a power source, thus cutting off the power was not a solution. Having informed the outside world of the situation beforehand, he reported that friends and family members of some of the players had already ignored his warning, causing the death of 213 players, showing images of the SAO incident.


Kayaba also told them that he had also removed the revival system in the game. Therefore, when a player died in-game, their game avatar would be forever lost, and, at the same time, the NerveGear would fry the player's brain, thus killing them. He then told them that the only way to escape the game was to complete it, which meant clearing all 100 floors of «Aincrad» and their bosses, much to the players' shock.

As he finished his announcement, he left a "gift", a «Mirror», in everyone’s inventory, which they took out. At that moment, a huge blinding light changed the players to their true appearances; sharply dropping the amount of female players by revealing that many male players were masquerading as female characters (though some female players were also masquerading as males). Afterwards, Kayaba revealed that his only goal was to create the game and intervene in it. Finally Kayaba vanished after his «Tutorial» is finished.

As everyone started panicking after Kayaba’s departure, Emi quickly took action and tried to bring Suzuno with her to the next nearby village, stating that the surrounding resources would be limited. However, Suzuno told her that he could not come with her, as he has some friends in real life somewhere in the plaza, and he did not want to leave them behind. Emi realized that he could only protect one player at a time with his current skills, meaning that if Suzunoor one of his friends died, she would be blamed for their deaths since he was the one who had suggested to leave.

Suzuno noticed Emi’s worries and politely told her that he should go ahead by himself, as he planned to go back to lead and protect his friends with the lessons that Emi had taught him. He then tried to cheer Emi up with a joke about her slightly masculine appearance, to which Emi retaliates by stating that Suzuno’s unkempt face suited him better. They then parted ways. Alone by himself with no one else to depend on, Emi ran through the town and outside the gate, vowing that she would survive in this game world and be free from the virtual imprisonment while swiftly taking out a wolf standing in her way.

Desius was only really mildly pissed off. Yes, he was now in a life or death situation. Yes he was the only member from the Legion that was online at the time. How ever, all that aside, what he was most pissed about, was that his character, with its Blond hair, Crystal blue eyes, and many roman style tattoos; had been replaced with all of his actual features: Chocolate brown hair, hazel eyes, and singular tattoo.


Hell, he half expected the built in audio and visual translation software, the program that translated every piece of writing and sound from the games default Japanese to his naive English, to be disabled. Alas, as much as it seemed that...well, he could never remember his name (he had taken to calling him "GeneralMcFuckFace") had wanted to make this game a living hell for him and the other 10,000 players, he at least wanted them to understand each other.

So, after the announcement, he took one looked around and spoke a few words. "I recommend, and this is coming from "The Black Centurion", that you party up to stay alive" with that, he turned, drew his Gladius, and walked out in to the now dark wilderness.

Emi knew she had to make it to tolbana as soon as possible and continue to survive, she knew that if she ever hope to see her little brother, her mother, her life she would have to survive this death game no matter the cost. She was an ex beta tester having knowledge of how to get to the next town with the safest route even at level one, she would be fine as long as she didn't have to worry about anyone else. However leaving suzuno the boy who she first helped was really hard on her in the back of her mind she feel really guilty about it. Emi continued to make her way killing the spawning boards and the occasional dire wolf on her way. Her XP bar grew steadily, as the sun set began to fade and the first night of SAO or now a living nightmare would begin. She watched the sky but gave no thought of resting no she need to continue moving, she could still hear the commotion over in the town and other ex betas following after her, she was a head too ahead to let them catch on. She took a path through the forest hoping to get a little more XP and get to Tolbana faster.

( Check the Weekly quest often in the OOC, this week will start on Wednesday, however new quest will be posted every Friday 4pm Aincrad time, I will give you the time of the quest compare it to your time, so we can all sync up our schedules. god speed, level up, scavenge, survive, once everyone has made it to tolbana you may take a quest, also once I see everyone has level enough for a boss raid I will schedule one, however consider this you don't have to be a front line, you can be a shop keeper and help the cause that way, or perhaps be an info broker if you are an ex beta you don't need to risk death in order to roleplay. (ps like I said only post here if your story is non cannon, the 100 floors place is only for cannon, so only post there for a boss raid or if it happen in the manga or light novels.)

Bringing his sword down hard, he dispatched the last wild boar. Looking at his player information, he saw he was only 10 exp short of level 4. "Son of a bit-" he didn't get to finish his sentence. As he walked past, something pounced on him from the bush. he found him self staring in to the maw of a dire wolf, level 6. It had waited for him to walk past and was now clawing at his armor. He wasn't being hurt, no; the armors durability was going down.

How ever, the dire wolf still represented a fight. Drawing his dagger, he shoved it in to the side of the dire wolves neck and heaved it off of him. he sprung up and drew his Gladius. "Come one you over grown poodle!" he charged the beast and it leaped towards him. Bringing the Gladius down, he sliced the beast in half, but he was not with out his own wounds. His HP was below 50 and his armor was in tatters. He sighed and picked up the 300 kol and the wolf pelt.



He just hast to gt to Talbanna or what ever the hell it was called.

Mimi was lost. This was the only way to explain her right now. She simply trying to level up but with her careless mistake she didn't take time to notice any land marks or anything, not that it would help, Mimi was bad with direction. The only thing that she could do is fall on her knees and hope for the best. As she silently pitted herself, she thought back and remembered about her friends, and family. Her eyes narrowed as she glared at the ground. She was going to do this, she was going to beat the game, she was going to have the biggest adventure of her life. Mimi stood up smiling at her new found hope, not noticing something creeping behind her.

As Desius walked, he couldn't but help marvel at his luck.

As he was walking his way to Tolbana, he had come across an NPC trader who was under attack. After dispatching the boars and wolves, the trader offered a unique level 5 set of heavy armor for him. To his complete surprise, he was able to customize the look of the armor set,which came with helmet and boots. Smiling as he did so, he paced through the options before coming to what he believed to be the closest to Roman Legion armor, complete with Centurion helm, and topped it off with a black color set as well.

To his dismay, being only a level 4, he could not equip the new armor, but the vendor would let him carry it with him. So fast forward 20 minuets, and Desius was looking for one last Dire wolf to bridge the 14 XP needed for level 5.

One could only imagine his surprise when he came across a seemingly random girl sitting there in the middle of the field. He couldn't say what drew him to her, but seeing her like that tugged at his heart strings. He began to walk to her when he spotted the dire wolf sneaking up on her. Drawing his Gladius, he leaped forward just as the wolf pounced on the girl....


.....and blocking it with his shield. Pushing back on the shield, he threw the beast off and sliced down with his sword. the beast took the hit and staggered back. Desius took this moment to slice at the wolf again, draining its HP to 0 and killing it. picking up the 15 xp, 100 Kol, and dire wolf pelt. He would sheath his Gladius and turn tot he girl. "You know, you really should get your detection skill up higher, saw him from 30 feet away." as he said this, he was swiping in to this menu and tapped on the icon for his new armor set. He couldn't help but smile as the set of black centurion armor materialized around him.

Mimi looked that the guy that had saved her. She grinned and smiled brightly. "Thank you soo.. MUCH!" She grinned at the strange man that had saved her and bowed down while tears were in her eyes then she notice. She could have been killed, she could have never seen her family again. 'WEAK'. That word kept repeating its self in her head. Her hand tighten around the sword she held by her side. She quickly took notice of the man again, "My name is Mimi"

( anyone who has make it to tolbana please check both the weekly quest and the claim quest in the OOC to know which quest are claimed and which aren't, also remember concerning any quest how they are solved and how they played out should be posted here and I cannot stress this enough THE NON CANNON happens here in floor one, CANNON only in the 100 floors please, if any quest lines are posted in the 100 floors it will be promptly deleted thank you and good luck with your quest )

Desius was pissed. Again. He had stayed in Tolo...talobana....what ever the hell is was called, just long enough to spend the night.
He had missed all of the quests..which he really didn't care about. Glory through trial by combat awaited him, and the mobs were not worth the time.

So this is how our dear Roman ended up getting ambushed by a pack of level 7 wolves. He was too skilled for them to take him 1v1, but they had numbers and he had only him self. The sounds of snarling wolves and a single, roaring voice could be heard from a fair distance away.

If god, if there was one, decided to send help, now would be it. His health was down to 34% and dropped with each attack. His shield was so badly degraded he had un-equipped it and and been fighting them off with his Gladius alone. His helmet had also been torn off, and lay just out of reach.

Emi sighed in relief as the quest was over, she looked around as her Hp began to go up steadily, she began walking on her way back to town then she heard a commotion. She quickly used her tracking skill to see if anyone was around, this could be a trap and she couldn't afford to fall into it. She saw foot steps followed by paw prints, she knew this wasn't an ambush a player was in danger. She ran following the foot prints until she came across a pack of wolves and another player health in the red. She rushed to his aid activating he horizontal square skill to know the wolves off for the moment, She dug through he inventory as quickly as she could, she took out 2 red flask, " drink this they are healing potions" she said handing them to her as she held her sword back up the wolves regrouping now.

Desius was surprised. Not at this strange girl seemingly coming out of no were, or that she had given him a set of Health potions...
which he needed. Badly. He poped them both open and downed them in a few gulps. What struck him was Her .

Seeing his HP start to rise from the 30% he was at felt good. Readying his sword, he spoke, "Many thanks, who ever you are.." Taking stock of their situation as the wolves recovered from the kickback of her ability, he spoke again, "You take the three in front, Il take the three behind"

Not really waiting for her to answer, he leaped out and brought his sword down on the wolf. It hit as a critical and the wold derezzed in to light. turning to the next wolf, he sliced twice at it as it attacked him, scoring a hit that took off 12% of his HP.


The last wolf pounced on him as he turned. Knocking him to the ground and making Desius drop his sword. Bearing keeping it at bay with one arm, he reached and drew his dagger. Stabbing it multiple times int he neck and head, the beast finally died and derezzed.

He jumped up and picked up his blade. Turning back to her...
