Yoshimura Sata's Story

starter post after this everyone gets a post to introduce their character reactions and actions then i'll post the first available quest)

On the virtual screens at the sky, there was a system announcement that drew everyone's attention. Suddenly, a giant, robed, faceless figure appeared, identifying himself as Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of the game and the only person with control over the game. Addressing the problem of the missing «Log Out» option, he announced to the players that he had purposely removed it from the game as another one of its features and thus, trapping them in the game.

While all the players were alarmed by his announcement, he continued on to point out that trying to forcibly escape by removing the NerveGear would result in the player's death by having the player's brain fried by the NerveGear's transmitter, which functioned like a microwave and used the internal battery of the helmet as a power source, thus cutting off the power was not a solution. Having informed the outside world of the situation beforehand, he reported that friends and family members of some of the players had already ignored his warning, causing the death of 213 players, showing images of the SAO incident.


Kayaba also told them that he had also removed the revival system in the game. Therefore, when a player died in-game, their game avatar would be forever lost, and, at the same time, the NerveGear would fry the player's brain, thus killing them. He then told them that the only way to escape the game was to complete it, which meant clearing all 100 floors of «Aincrad» and their bosses, much to the players' shock.

As he finished his announcement, he left a "gift", a «Mirror», in everyone’s inventory, which they took out. At that moment, a huge blinding light changed the players to their true appearances; sharply dropping the amount of female players by revealing that many male players were masquerading as female characters (though some female players were also masquerading as males). Afterwards, Kayaba revealed that his only goal was to create the game and intervene in it. Finally Kayaba vanished after his «Tutorial» is finished.

As everyone started panicking after Kayaba’s departure, Emi quickly took action and tried to bring Suzuno with her to the next nearby village, stating that the surrounding resources would be limited. However, Suzuno told her that he could not come with her, as he has some friends in real life somewhere in the plaza, and he did not want to leave them behind. Emi realized that he could only protect one player at a time with his current skills, meaning that if Suzunoor one of his friends died, she would be blamed for their deaths since he was the one who had suggested to leave.

Suzuno noticed Emi’s worries and politely told her that he should go ahead by himself, as he planned to go back to lead and protect his friends with the lessons that Emi had taught him. He then tried to cheer Emi up with a joke about her slightly masculine appearance, to which Emi retaliates by stating that Suzuno’s unkempt face suited him better. They then parted ways. Alone by himself with no one else to depend on, Emi ran through the town and outside the gate, vowing that she would survive in this game world and be free from the virtual imprisonment while swiftly taking out a wolf standing in her way.

Soon fear began to knaw at the back of her mind as the creator began to talk about the nerve gear system and how if it was removed from outside help it would fry the players brain and kill them, he was nice enough to warn them ahead of time. She was thankful she moved out of her parents house into her own place since her parents would have busted down the door to her old room and remove the gear without listening to the news. The creator also went on, saying that the revival system was removed from the game and if your avatar was killed in-game you would die in real life. But a spark of hope ignited in her when Kayaba told them that there was one way to leave the game, and that was to beat the 100 floors of Aincrad and their bosses.

After he finished his anoucment, a notification popped up in front of her and it displayed a mirror. Upon use of the mirror a bright and blinding light shot out from the mirror and as she looked in it again, she noticed that she looked exactly the same before the mirror blinded her. Upon looking around however, she noticed that a large majority of female avatars were now males and a few male avatars were now females.

When Kayaba finished his speech and dissapeared, nearly everyone began to panic wth the exception of her and a few others. This game was now a life and death situation and she didint want to die, of course she didint want other people to die. She decided to try and help weaker players and to begin questing as soon as possible while most people were panicing. When she was at a reasonable level she would return and offer to accompany low leveled players on quests.

With her thoughts complete, she began to leave the town and left the gates. Afterwards she went out to look for mobs to start gaining experience and items.

Desius was only really mildly pissed off. Yes, he was now in a life or death situation. Yes he was the only member from the Legion that was online at the time. How ever, all that aside, what he was most pissed about, was that his character, with its Blond hair, Crystal blue eyes, and many roman style tattoos; had been replaced with all of his actual features: Chocolate brown hair, hazel eyes, and singular tattoo.


Hell, he half expected the built in audio and visual translation software, the program that translated every piece of writing and sound from the games default Japanese to his naive English, to be disabled. Alas, as much as it seemed that...well, he could never remember his name (he had taken to calling him "GeneralMcFuckFace") had wanted to make this game a living hell for him and the other 10,000 players, he at least wanted them to understand each other.

So, after the announcement, he took one looked around and spoke a few words. "I recommend, and this is coming from "The Black Centurion", that you party up to stay alive" with that, he turned, drew his Gladius, and walked out in to the now dark wilderness.

Emi knew she had to make it to tolbana as soon as possible and continue to survive, she knew that if she ever hope to see her little brother, her mother, her life she would have to survive this death game no matter the cost. She was an ex beta tester having knowledge of how to get to the next town with the safest route even at level one, she would be fine as long as she didn't have to worry about anyone else. However leaving suzuno the boy who she first helped was really hard on her in the back of her mind she feel really guilty about it. Emi continued to make her way killing the spawning boards and the occasional dire wolf on her way. Her XP bar grew steadily, as the sun set began to fade and the first night of SAO or now a living nightmare would begin. She watched the sky but gave no thought of resting no she need to continue moving, she could still hear the commotion over in the town and other ex betas following after her, she was a head too ahead to let them catch on. She took a path through the forest hoping to get a little more XP and get to Tolbana faster.

( Check the Weekly quest often in the OOC, this week will start on Wednesday, however new quest will be posted every Friday 4pm Aincrad time, I will give you the time of the quest compare it to your time, so we can all sync up our schedules. god speed, level up, scavenge, survive, once everyone has made it to tolbana you may take a quest, also once I see everyone has level enough for a boss raid I will schedule one, however consider this you don't have to be a front line, you can be a shop keeper and help the cause that way, or perhaps be an info broker if you are an ex beta you don't need to risk death in order to roleplay. (ps like I said only post here if your story is non cannon, the 100 floors place is only for cannon, so only post there for a boss raid or if it happen in the manga or light novels.)

Yoshimura began to slay wild boars and the occasional dire wolf. She had heard from some players before she was warped to the announcement that there was a town called Tolbana that was in the area. After clearing the last hostile mob near her vicinity she opened up her map to look for the town, and after locating it she set a waypoint so she wouldent lose track of it.

She soon began to march forward at a walking pace, continuing to eliminate hostile mobs that attacked her and was slowly filling up her XP bar. Despite not being a gamer, the way that this game played was based on you. You were the controller, you were the keyboard, you were the character, and that's what drew her to this game. In real life she would sometimes go hunting with her father and her mother dropped her off at her aikido class during the weekends which was why she was doing well, but she was still very much getting used to the interface and other things.

She had heard however from some people, both in a game she played a long time ago and in real life that there was something called PvP, or player versus player for those who were not familiar with the term like she was. PvP was when a player fights another player and the winner was the one who killed the other opponent, she hoped that she wouldn't run into one of them since she would have to fight to the death and would have to live knowing that they would die if she won.

Of course she and most players here were still at a relatively low level so chances of encountering one of them at this point was low, but she would keep that in mind in the future knowing that monsters are not the only enemy she would have to fight. But right now, she wanted to level up and have access to a katana.

Bringing his sword down hard, he dispatched the last wild boar. Looking at his player information, he saw he was only 10 exp short of level 4. "Son of a bit-" he didn't get to finish his sentence. As he walked past, something pounced on him from the bush. he found him self staring in to the maw of a dire wolf, level 6. It had waited for him to walk past and was now clawing at his armor. He wasn't being hurt, no; the armors durability was going down.

How ever, the dire wolf still represented a fight. Drawing his dagger, he shoved it in to the side of the dire wolves neck and heaved it off of him. he sprung up and drew his Gladius. "Come one you over grown poodle!" he charged the beast and it leaped towards him. Bringing the Gladius down, he sliced the beast in half, but he was not with out his own wounds. His HP was below 50 and his armor was in tatters. He sighed and picked up the 300 kol and the wolf pelt.



He just hast to gt to Talbanna or what ever the hell it was called.

Emi saw a girl not far away from her, she was a little preoccupied she didn't know whether she could trust her, with the stay of panic things were she could very well be trying to get easy col by robbing players. She hid up a tree using her hiding skill it wasn't very high but as the game had just started it was more likely that their detection skill wouldn't be that high either. She waited for her to pass her before she would reveal herself.

As Yohimura continued to walk, one last mob blocked her way. A level 4 dire wolf slowly approached with its teeth bared. Seeing the wolf, she got into a fighting stance but instead of attacking immediantly she began to wait for the wolf to attack. With the aggressive nature of the wolf, it lunged at her hoping to tackle her so it could start eating her.

Using her sprint skill, she avoided the attack by sliding under the wolf and taking the initiative, she slashed at the wolf two times on its back dealing massive damage and taking its health to the red. She backed away quickly as the wolf turned around to face her. Instead of lunging at her, this time the wolf ran towards her hoping to not be tricked a second time. She in return charged, ready to face the wolf head on and as they got within mere inches from eachother, she delivered her attack first and slashed the wolf depleting its health bar and causing it to fall to the ground.

After the fight was over, she sheathed her sword and began to loot the wolf that attacked her along with all the others mobs. In total she gathered 250 col, 6 wild boar skins, and 3 dire wolf furs. With the area cleared she walked past a tree and carefully watched it in case something decided to ambush her. But when she was far enough away she stopped watching it and continued on her journey.

Emi sighed in relief and climbed down the tree, she didn't pay attention to the player in the distance. She dusted herself off and tapped her sword, there was a couple boards spawning already, she twirled her blade and smiled. The first board lunged at her, she parried the tackle and then tossed it to the side, the next one came around an she activated her Sword skill, slant the sword glowed blue and then it connected on the flesh of the board making it's HP drop and it burst into a thousand crystal like shards before disappearing. The other boards were agro by the action and rushed her, Emi looked at them calculating 4 she counted on her head, " alright three moves or less the " she said activating another sword skill, she waited for the boards to line up and the suddenly she let it go the skill exploding as she caught the two boards doing a ton of damage, they too burst into crystals as the remaining lined up as well, she waited for the sword skill to cool, however they were coming far to close to wait, she jumped over them " darn three moves" she said activating the skill over them and slashing them again one hit for both. As they disappeared they she jumped celebrating " Yeah !"she said smiling until she turned around and saw the player her face got all red and she clutched her sword.

Yohimura heard a voice celebrating from behind her. She turned around and saw another female player jumping up, that was before she looked at her when her face got red and clutched her sword. Yoshimura raised her hands not intending to be hostile. "Hello there, my name is Yoshimura Sata and I mean you no harm." She spoke calmly so she wouldn't agitate the other player. "You see, I just started this game today and I would like to team up with players to increase our chances at survival. And since your the first person I encountered out here, we should stick together for now. As a sign of friendship and trust, I will give you a health potion if you are willing to trust me."

Emi gave a sight of relief and then lifted her hand " no no it's ok I see your cursor is green " she said smiling as she walked closer "I'm Emi " she held out her hand once they were face to face, " i'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier like you said surviving in this game is a team effort however...ummm " she looked down remembering how she had abandoned Suz" I'm not good with team work still if you need directions to Tolbana I could help " she said looking up at her smiling again " by the way you wanna keep your full name a secret is kind of etiquette in this world to keep your personal life out" she said whispering to her" not to mention some people might misuse the information " she said looking at her as she put her sword away.

Yohimura reached out and shook Emi's hand. "Pleased to meet you Emi." She was disappointed to hear she wasn't great with a team but she did offer to give her directions to Tolbana, she also told her to not use her full name. "That would be fantastic, and I'll keep that advice in mind." She replied, accepting her generous help. But something caught her interest, her cursor was green? She had to ask Emi what that meant. "You said my cursor was green? What do you mean by that?" She asked politely.

" is this your first MMO? " she asked a little confused " see above my head ? there is a green diamond shape object right " she said pointing at what she estimated was her cursor" in MMO people who do thing like rob other players bully them or commit crimes in general get a Orange cursor which lets you know they are criminals, however people who go beyond that people who really like to be the bad guy they get red cursors and they are known as PK or player killers their whole goal is to kill others" she said looking at her " I doubt anyone right now has any red cursor however that does not guaranteed the player is good as it is the first day." She explained looking around " anyway I took a lot of your time now is getting dark we should keep moving to tolbana" she opened her menu and send her a party request " here this way you will be able to see my map and my route to tolbana"

"This is my first time playing an MMO, but the combat of this game is more of my style. Instead of using a mouse or controller you can use your body which is why I got this game. Although...for my first time playing an MMO, I would have never guessed in my life that we would be trapped by a madman and have our lives on the line." She replied after Emi finished talking about the cursor above them. Suddenly a notification popped up in front of her asking her to join a party, she of course agreed to it but that's when she also realized she was also level three and about to hit level four after she gathered 25xp. "I got so caught up in the combat that I forgot this was still a game." She laughed a bit.

Emi smiled as well and let out a slight giggle, she lifted her hand up to the air " I don't blame you, here in aincrad a sword and your hands can take you as far as you wanna go, here you can do things you can't in the real world" she let out another giggle " I was in the beta test and during that time all I wanted was to come back to this world to live here and continue to explore this vast world" she let her hand fall down and let out a sight " pretty bad mindset now don't you think ? " she said smiling as she moved her hair from her face " anyway don't worry about your level you are already above most players " she looking at her HP bar " so I see you favor the curve sword there is very useful skill to that " she said nodding " more flexible than my long sword " she looked at her own sword " alrighty let's get a move on ummm you mind if I call you Yoshi? " she asked blushing " it's a bit of a mouthful of course I don't wanna be rude" she said waving her hands in front of her.

When Eni mentioned she was in the beta of this game and how she wanted to live in this world, Yoshimura could see the appeal in that. "I can see the appeal in living in this world, not having to worry about real life, having fun, fighting monsters, and looking at the beautiful sights." She smiled as she spoke. When Emi mentioned about her weapon choice, her eyes seemed to spark to life. "You know I'm surprised most people don't use the curved sword, lots of people like the idea of becoming a heavily armored Knights, armed giant swords and spears. The curved sword might not look like much but with enough training and skill it could easily block and possibly break their great-sword and their metal armor would be paper. I should know since I take aikido class and seen first hand on what it could do!" She then stopped her rant when Emi mentioned that they should move on, and she also asked if she could call her Yoshi. "Yeah my name is pretty long, so you can call me Yoshi if you want." She replied with a slight chuckle realizing she went on a rant about curved swords before getting ready to follow Emi.

" No way I take kendo myself, that how I knew how to handle a sword of course here, it really doesn't take your skill in real life is more motions and the system doing it for you" she said as she began walking with her " still being a knight doesn't sound bad of course, here a female knight has to wear those dreaded skirts " she said blushing " seriously how is one supposed to fight without making a fool of themselves geez pervert creator " she said rolling her eyes " heh sorry Yoshi I tend to talk way to much, umm this way " she said pointing at a field " this is the fastest way to tolbana it has a couple level six monster but they are supposed to be rare spawns besides between my level and yours we should be fine " She said nodding "but I must ask if things do get dicey please worry for yourself ok no need to be my hero " she said looking down blushing " i'll handle it."

When Emi mentioned that the female Knights had to wear skirts, Yoshimura let out a sigh. "So those dreaded skirts follow us into this game, I had enough problems with that in school...I swear when I find whoever invented skirts I'll make them see some stars."" She replied with a small tinge of red on her face. Emi then pointed at a field saying it was the quickest way to Tolbana but it contained some level six monsters, but with their combined might they should be fine. But when Emi mentioned if things got dicey, she should worry about herself and not be a hero. She crossed her arms before speaking. "If things do get dicey, I have your back. And it's not called being a hero, it's about doing the right thing." She spoke firmly.

Emi giggled" the right thing...umm that seems so old fashion of you to say Yoshi" she smiled and continued walking " I got you back too what i'm saying is there is no need for both of us to go down " she said looking at her with a serious look on here face " it would be pretty lame if we died to some weak monster so let's do our best to get to tolbana in one piece ok " she gave her a thumbs up " and about the skirt we might be able to remedy that with some more heavy armor though it will really take a toll on our speed, so that's something i'll work on " she said excited " ummm if you don't mind me asking why SAO, I mean you said this was your first MMORPG but before the full dive and nervegear there was plenty of others classic MMORPGs, I know you said that you being the controller was part of it but we had motion controls already without a full dive, anything you think might have influenced your choice for aincrad? "

"I learn from the best best, which was my family." Yohimura replied. When Emi spoke about using heavy armor to cover their skirts she spoke up. "I'm not going into the armor route, I prefer cloth armor since it does not hinder speed in the slightest. And on the plus side I can customize it." But when Emi told her why SAO out of all things, she had to think about that. "Well...To tell you the truth, I joined the game after overhearing some people. I never did know that there were other games that could do this, I never did research games or play very many games so...curiosity? I guess."
