“Tick, tock, tick, tock
Says the clock
It counts and counts the seconds
With its immeasurable greed
A faceless thief of time and life
It spares no mercy for the mortal
Tick, tock, tick, tock
Tock, tick, tock, tick
There is no stopping
its precision of counting
It looks on without fear
Nor hesitation
For even if you break its hands
And tear out its gears
It will never cease in its counting
Tick, tock, tick, tock
Tock, tick, tock, tick
Tick, tock, tick, tock
Says the clock
The ruler of my existence
The maker of my world
‘How much more time must I spend here?’
I may ask, but will never know
My prayers are never answered
All I can do is listen to the clock
Tick, tock, tick, toc”
A sweet, bird-like voice echoed through the darkness, shattering the unearthly silence. Nothing could be seen in the pitch blackness except for a single beam of light that had made its way through the thick cave walls. In that one beam, danced a girl with short sun-colored hair. She danced with grace; bounding like a deer, swaying like a swan, and pirouetting like a fox. Her singing rivaled that of a wolf with their beautiful howling. All who heard her voice were entranced and left silent, speechless. Even the cold walls of the cave seemed to be leaning in to listen. She danced and singed from the early light of dawn into the quietness of night in order to please the mighty beast of fire, Kra'zahl the Flamebringer.
It is a shame to have such a beautiful flower caged and unable to see the sun’s true shine and a crime to have her cornered in with the titanic force of a dragon. Her petals fall more and more with the absence of full sunshine. Her stem grows weaker and weaker with the continuous task of southing the fierce creature. Her soul is eaten by tormenting curiosity of the outside that can’t be satisfied. When will she be free of this nightmare of shadows and fire? Does she even belong here in this merciless cave? And if she doesn’t, is anyone searching for her? Those questions and more she has never been able to answer. Even her mentor, the dragon keeper before her, will not reveal such questions. He says they are useless things to ask and should be forgotten or she shall surely turn to madness, but how can she forget them so easily? It has slowly been eating her form the inside out. Ripping, shredding, and tearing her sanity apart. Sooner or later, she will be deprived of all consciousness and become a beast just like the creature she is forced to care for. Blood, sweat, and tears will wet the cavern floor, staining it with misery, if it hasn’t already.
Many have been taken by the tormenting cave and its powerful occupant. Will the girl be one of them?

Kra'Zahl was flying. Flying higher than the mountains, slicing through the clouds, streaking through the world. Animals fled in terror through the woods below, crying out in fright. He was the master of earth and air. He soared higher and higher, spiraling through the clouds. He was free.
Something itched at the base of his neck. Kra scratched at it the offending spot. His crimson eyes opened slowly as his claws worked at the itch, but to no avail. His eyelids shot open when he realized that he was still in the cave, a slave to the "Queen". That woman. No curse is known in the languages of the world, both dead and alive would accurately describe her. The haunting notes of the apprentice Keeper's voice floated down the cavern to where he slept. He knew where he was now. Frustration welled up within his chest, and a furious roar tore from his throat and reverberated throughout the cave. He rammed his head against the sides of the passage, making the cavern shake. His claws rent the walls around him, scoring it with multiple new gashes. His fit died down, and his body gradually softened its glow.
The stones, now basically gravel, softly crunched against his plating as he crawled towards where the singing was coming from earlier. The walls of the cavern weren't too close to him; a testament to several years of widening the passages. When he first arrived, he could barely fit into the passages. The many years of digging made the passageways accessible, and not as painful. The apprentice keeper slowly came into sight, and he snorted some black smoke. If she were looking into the darkened passageway, she would've seen his glowing eyes before Kra'zahl emerged from the depths of the cavern. He snorted smoke in her direction again before waiting for her to say something, or to continue dancing.
