Callisto hugged her son, knees giving in his embrace. He eased her gently down into the rocking chair, she seemed out of breath. "Mother, don't push yourself," he warned and Callisto swallowed. "I'm fine, just dizzy," she lied. "We should get going, my bag is already packed." Orderly Rowan lifted it, not wanting to burden the royals. "Let me get my shoes-" Celeste went to retrieve them from underneath the bed, helping her Mother into them. "Your jacket," she assisted her Mother in shrugging it on, the three of them making their way back out to the carriage. "This way, there's steps here," once the three of them were safely inside, the Pegasus trotted back towards their home. "Thank goodness, I don't think I could have stood another day in there." The Queenly aura seemed to melt, leaving just a tired Mother who was glad to be going home. "Come here you, let me have a good look." She pinched Celeste's cheeks, turning her head back and forth and then having a good look at her wings. "My stars, it really did work," her smile was bright. She hugged Celeste against her, crushing her daughter in her vise.

"C-can't breathe!" Celeste let go, then took a good look at Gabriel, her smile a bit sadder. "I never imagined I would live to see my son becoming King." Gabriel shook his head, "the throne belong to you and Father, I was merely keeping things in order for your return." He removed the crown from his head, the weight seeming to lift off of his shoulders as he handed it to their Mother who placed it upon herself without hesitation. "Thank you Gabriel, I'm sure you made a fine King." Celeste was quick to agree, "He did great! He put all of the council members behind bars," Callisto looked at her son in alarm. "You did what?" She sunk back into her seat, seeming a bit dazed. "The people aren't going to like that, they're going to think that the power has gone to our heads." Gabriel frowned, he and Celeste were both confused at their Mother's mixed reaction. "But the council was bad, they're the ones that hurt Papa and put you in a home!"

"The council was to keep us from having too much power Celeste, it's a system of checks and balances."

"They were committing treason against the crown!" Callisto was silent a moment, it was very rare for Gabriel to snap at his parents. "I wasn't going to stand there like some puppet for them to manipulate until everyone I loved was dead!" Callisto tried to touch his shoulder, but Gabriel jerked away. "Don't touch me, you don't understand, you're still doing things the old fashioned way." Callisto sighed but was otherwise silent the rest of the way home. Things were tense in the carriage and Celeste tried to break it with the story of how they had gotten to the Flowersea since her Mother had been asleep. "And then, just when we thought we were gonna die, we fell through the ice! Well, I think I may have actually been dead already, but the Flowersea kept my soul intact and healed my body." Gabriel stared hard out the window, it seemed that he was purposely avoiding their gaze.

When the carriage stopped in front of their home, the stands had already been set up for the public trial in which they would accuse and banish the council members. Vendors had set up too, selling warm drinks and food. Celeste loved seeing the community come together, even if it was for something as horrific as a public trial. It would be a historical moment, Callisto taking the stage, reclaiming her crown in front of the entire Kingdom and banishing the council that had tried to get the upper hand in the most dastardly way possible. They would pay for their crimes, they would pay for the lives that had been so unjustly taken and then, once it was over, Celeste and Gabriel would round up as many soldiers as they could and fly towards Hell to assist in the battle against Maya and Satan. Things were changing, the air was charged with an excitement that was mixed with both nerves and hope. "They're waiting for us," Celeste realized, watching through the curtains of their home.

Callisto was being fitted for a new dress, she had lost a considerable amount of weight but looked no less strong. Celeste too, was dressed in something more appropriate for the occasion. All three Angeals had donned their best robes, looking regal in an almost ethereal way. It was almost time now, soon they would take the stage and usher in a new age.

And so it was time to prepare the defenses. With Satan's army approaching, this was their best chance, to fight somewhere with as many advantages as possible. It wouldn't be easy, but trying to challenge Satan on the open field would only mean disaster, especially because they weren't on top fighting condition. They needed to defend the Onyx Citadel for as long as possible, until Minerva was up and ready, and then they could strike, using Kitra's front line skills and Minerva's expert coordination with her mind web. So Kitra called up Gremory and he was preparing plenty of magic circles, defensive enhancements, as many as he could fit in the Onyx Citadel. "The life energy of Hell will suffer in the long run." He explained as he cast each circle. "But I don't see any other options, we're cornered." This would be the last stand, there was no retreat. Fight to the end, to the death, of either the enemies or themselves

"If you feel yourself about to die, crawl into a trap!" Kitra commanded the army. Satan's people were approaching, they were doing it slow and steady, giving the defenders ample time to get ready for when the two armies had to clash once again. "Then your monster side will die from the trap so Satan won't be able to control you and use you against us!" That was the best way to try and cancel out the biggest worry with Satan, his ability to control the monsters. So the more of your army that died, the bigger and stronger his army grew. "And I'm sorry in advance for your sacrifice." It was also hard to fight against those who once fought on your side, knowing you were killing a friend that had become a monster. There was a reason Satan was so feared.

When night fell a reverberating gong sound out. The lookout saw them, the battle was here. So Kitra gathered those with ranged abilities on the walls on the outside of the Onyx Citadel while those with close up abilities were stationed just outside the walls, with plenty of reserves on both sides. There were little tunnels built into the walls for the front liners to escape when injured, for Lilim to heal them and let them back out to fight. "I know, Kitty, I'm the emergency button." Lilim's job, once the walls were broken, and they would be eventually - her job was to get to Maya, to get to Satan, and transfer all the accumulated wounds to them to incapacitate them.

Kitra was up on the wall, her six spider limbs ready for action, lightning sparking in her Reginleif. "Satan Ataera, it's nice to finally meet you on the battlefield!" Kitra shouted as the monster army approached with all their might. "All that remains o the Vacivus family is here." Satan's booming voice. "Tonight is the night you all pay for what your father did to me! I'll take away everything that matters to you!" Maya was there as well, not looking anyone in the eye, just staring down at the ground. "This is the end, now that I'm here, the Onyx Citadel won't ever lose!" The two armies roared and rallied. It was time.

"Councilman Astor, based on the evidence against you, there is no point in lying." Celeste and Gabriel stood opposite the stage, a bit behind their Mother who stood on her own, looking as fierce as she had before she had gotten sick. "You have been accused of treason against the crown, as such it is punishable by banishment to the neutral zone." There he would most certainly become a fallen, either that or he would be killed by the lack of light, if the other inhabitants didn't get to him first. "I have no idea of what you speak," Astor replied, holding his head up high. His council robes were gone, replaced with a neat powder blue suit and black tie. Queen Callisto shook her head, "you're lying." The crowd gasped, angels, after all, couldn't lie. "Ladies and gentlemen, this man is already a fallen!" A bucket of water was splashed, washing away the powder using to coat his wings. The feathers had turned an inky black.

"Councilman Astor, by the power vested in me as well as the Order, you are hereby sentenced to banishment for the rest of time." He cried out in protest as he was grabbed by the guards and roughly shoved into a carriage, still dripping wet. After his trial the rest of them were easy to accuse and one by one, the reign of the council came to an end. There were murmurs through the crowd, who would replace them? How would they ensure that the Noble families didn't try to betray the Crown? "I will personally be submitting tests of loyalty," Callisto informed them. "In the meantime, I think we need a fresh start. The Noble houses will not be heading the new Council," Callisto placed a hand on Celeste's shoulder, "Instead, my children have elected that we choose from the people." There was an out poor of optimism about this idea. "The people's voices will be heard, I can assure you that. The homes that have been vacated by previous councilman will house those who have lost everything in the attack of the fallen on Eden." The crowd was going wild, it was clear that they had missed their rightful Queen.

"In the meantime, the condition of my husband remains questionable." A hush fell upon the people once more as they listened, wanting to hear how the King was doing. "It is very probable that he may never recover from this attack, but he is alive no less and that alone, gives us hope. I'd like to thank you all for your support in maintaining a sense of order while my son, Prince Gabriel and my daughter, Princess Celeste, ruled. I'd also like to thank you all for coming tonight to watch as Heaven begins a new age. Like the New Year, we will start fresh and hopefully by the end of the festival, we will be electing our new council." With that the closing remarks were given, as well as the instructions on how to apply to become a council member. The three Angeals returned inside, the heavy palace doors shutting behind them. Almost instantly, Celeste rushed to grab a chair for her mother to sink into. "Thank you Celeste," she reached up to kiss her daughter's cheek. "Now go you two, I believe you have an army to round up."

The sound of thousands of angels was like that of thunder. It almost seemed as though a temporary darkness had fallen over the gate when in truth, soldiers of all shapes and sizes were soaring dead ahead towards the Onyx Citadel. "Celeste!" Gabriel called over the wind, banking right to fly closer to her. "I know, I know, no fighting, I'm going for support only." She was donned in her Mother's old armor, although she looked no less threatening like this as she did on a normal day. "Hang on Kitra, we're coming!"

The battle was raging for hours and everyone was getting exhausted. Kitra was still at it, attacking Maya directly. Satan knew that Ktira was the only one here with a chance to beat him one on one so he had Maya deal with Kitra instead so he could rampage as he pleased. Cambion was hit hard on the head, Lilim couldn't wake up him, the walls were broken and now it was everyone fighting for themselves in a desperate whirlwind of death and destruction in the courtyard of the tower. "Why?" Kitra struck but Maya easily got out of the way using her powers. "Why are you against us?" Kitra was more than furious. She wanted to kill Maya, here and now. "If you really felt bad about what you did, why don't you help?" Maya grimaced, her knife unsteady. "I can't abandon Daddy now." She said and she sounded like she wanted to cry.

The spider queen was having none of it. "Then at least get out of the way, that monster you call a father, he's killing my people!" She tried to push past Maya but then she just reappeared in front of Kitra, forcing her back. "I can't let you, Kitra." Maya insisted but there was lots of sadness in those eyes that used to be playful and fun. "I have to protect my family, just like how you're protecting your own. If it was Lilim who turned evil, you would still look out for her, wouldn't you?" Kitra glared, this wasn't even worth answering to. "What if Celeste turned evil, what then?" But Celeste did turn evil, was this even worth asking? "Then I'd stop her, just like last time! Isn't that what you're supposed to be doing?" Maya froze, eyes wide and so Kitra lunged, her spear stuck right through - Lilim's chest, Lilim had gotten in the way, she was protecting Maya.

"Please." She whimpered. "Stop. Don't kill, she's my friend, don't!" Kitra went stiff, was this a fatal injury, was this death? Lilim could heal, why wasn't she healing? "Lil." Maya's voice was choked and pained but then something very important happened in the midst of all of this. Black wings were beating and then Iaoth and his Fallen came. Well, not all the Fallen, but all the ones that responded to Callisto's call for aid. "We come bearing Queen Callisto's wishes." Iaoth declared as the Fallen army descended to help fight. "For those that wanted a second chance, we can prove it by defending Hell against it's old Emperor!" And not only this, but the Angel Army was approaching, just a few hours behind.

"Take care of her." Kitra screamed at Maya, smacking her into the wall with her tentacles. "Don't let her die, or I'll torture you until you don't even remember your own name." With that the spider Queen forced herself away from the scene, aiming her eyes right at Satan, her enemy. Bottled up rage and fury were ready to explode, he had killed enough of her people. It was time to put an end to this, once and for all, with the Fallen providing back up, flying the injured demons to safety, attacking monsters that were trying to break the inner walls, this was - "Satan, you die here! I don't care what revenge you want, I'm the Queen, and this is my Kingdom!"

But the lightning spear Reginleif struck, and Satan merely laughed it off. "After ten years on the Altar, suffering from Liandry's Torment, do you really expect me to be beaten by a weakling like you?" Satan effortlessly grabbed Kitra and held her up by the throat, then before her scissor blades could cut her way out he slammed her against the rocky ground, he had much more brute strength than her, so he found it easy to dash her body on the stones over and over until Kitra no longer moved, a bloody, broken mess of snapped bones and red flesh. "Demons, Fallen, surrender now!" Satan laughed evilly. Maya transported to him, with Lilim and Cambion as well. "I have your three royals, this is the end of the Vacivus Family!" Already, the three of them were starting to transform. The spider, the bat, and the lizard, it seemed all was lost. The only hope now were the beating white wings far off in the distance.

The closer they got to the center of Hell, the colder it became. Celeste shivered against her jacket, her flight goggles fogged with steam from her breath. "Celeste," Gabriel suddenly breathed, grabbing her arm, stopping her midflight. The other angels were beginning to go in for the landing, their bodies angled downwards as they rained their heavenly fire upon the enemies struggling on the ground. "Stay here," he was blocking her view of something, trying to stop her from going down there. "Why? What's wrong? Where's Kitra?" She lifted up her goggles, looking around. "Celeste, please, just listen to me, stay here." Gabriel begged, holding her shoulders now. The two of them bobbed up and down as they tried to stay afloat amidst the heavy winds. "I'm going down-" she saw it then, Satan holding Kitra by the neck, her beloved beaten to a bloodied pulp. Her stomach turned, Gabriel's nails digging into her coat. "Stay," he hissed, but Celeste wasn't listening.

"Don't-" it was too late. She ripped her key from her neck, the scythe growing to its full size. Her eyes had changed, turning gold. Before Gabriel could stop her, Celeste zoomed into battle, becoming something terrifying. In truth she didn't remember much of the battle, just a lot of screaming. She wasn't sure who it was, what side, but it didn't matter. Her attention was focused directly on one thing; Kill. Thankfully, angel soldiers knew better than to get in the way, as they had seen this once before. The fallen quaked in their boots, recalling the first time Celeste had taken on a transformation before them. They meekly kept from getting in her path, everything beneath her becoming trampled. No, not a dragon, something much worse. "Th-Thanos," a demon whispered, falling to his knees. He would only be half correct as technically this was still Celeste.

Gabriel needed to do something, Celeste couldn't do this, she couldn't transform, it was too dangerous. It was too late though, the angel was locked in arms with Satan, Kitra's body cast aside. Gabriel went to retrieve her, checking for a pulse. She was still alive, there was still a chance. Weaving in and out of the clamor, Gabriel returned Kitra to the inside of the Onyx Citadel, where the injured were lining up. Outside, a terrible roar filled the air as darkness swarmed. If asked, Celeste couldn't tell you how she did it. She could remember the distinct and salty flavor of blood, the sound of bone crunching beneath her scythe, but after that, it was all a haze. Satan was dead and Celeste had fallen into one of Gremory's traps. "Stay away!" Gabriel bellowed, "get away from her!" He unhinged his sword from his back, aiming it at his little sister. "Fools," she laughed, her voice sounding strange. "You think you can trap me with these tricks?"

"Celeste, it's over, return to us." Gabriel tried, but Celeste only laughed. Gabriel was left with no choice. He raised his sword, using the blunt side to strike her. Naturally, with her arms pinned the way they were she wouldn't be able to defend herself and once more Celeste became herself, shrinking, her clothes torn and hanging off of her, fresh wounds trickling blood. Gabriel pried her free of the trap, checking her over. There were no stains of darkness remaining on her, but just in case, he used a pair of shackles to bind her. Treating his sister like a criminal wasn't going to win him any points, especially since she had just killed Satan, but the threat needed to be contained. He locked her in the dungeon of the Onyx Citadel, figuring that he could deal with her later. For now there was the matter of Kitra and Lilim to attend to.

When the angel army descended, Maya was quickly found by Raphael, he grabbed her before she could melt away into the shadows, to escape his attention and go back to fighting. She needed to save her father, but Raphael's grip was like iron, he wasn't going to let her get away. Maya was slippery like a snake and Raphael knew it, and this was the end of her tricks. "Let me go, please." Maya hissed, just like the serpent she was. "I need to save my daddy." She just looked like a lost daughter about to lose the last of her family, and she didn't know what to do. "I'm protecting my own family!" He roared, dragging her away from the battle. "I should kill you here, I should end your rotten life, but Lilim wouldn't want that, Celeste wouldn't either." He wouldn't kill her, but he would stop her from interfering.

And so the battle was ended with the sheer power of Celeste becoming Thanos, bringing horror into everyone's hearts - well, everyone but a subset of demons that watched as the bride of the Queen showed that no one could defeat her. Strength was seen as beauty, and so they immediately became enamored with Celeste. Cambion, Kitra, Lilim, they were hurt really badly, all three were on the verge of becoming monsters, the final phase of any demon's life. "There's not much time, they're about to transform." How could they fix them fast enough, especially with Lilim being unable to heal them? What could they do?

"I'll take them to Ryker." Maya said quietly. She knew her father was dead, she knew it was all over now, she was the last of the clan. There was nothing... she wasn't even in mourning. The shadow princess just felt... numb, in a way. Perhaps this was even a relief to her. Now she wasn't stuck between two sides she wanted to help, one was dead, and perhaps, it was the one she got along with better. Daddy loved her once, but after spending a decade trapped on the Altar, he changed. While Satan was a tyrant, he wasn't all bad, but what good that was once there disappeared the moment Lucifer came and took away all that he loved. All she had left of him was Cerberus, who survived the battle. "Don't, I don't think we can move them." Gabriel muttered. "Bring Ryker here. I'll go with you so you don't try anything."

Which meant Raphael had nothing to do but go visit Celeste in the cell while Murmur, Minerva, and Gremory tried to fix up whatever was left of Hell and the Onyx Citadel. Maya and Gabriel came back from their portal with Ryker and his nephew, Skyla had her tail curled around the three Vacivus royals protectively, snapping at anyone who came too close, she was in mourning for her master. "There's not enough time to save all three." Ryker said quietly. "Kitra's needed because she's Queen, and you would kill me if I let Lilim die." No one was there to speak for Cambion, so it seemed his fate was decided.

"Stars Celeste, you really scared everyone." Raphael stood outside the cell where Celeste was slumped, her wrists and ankles bound. "Celeste..." Raphael trailed off, "Celty?" She didn't respond, in fact, she didn't seem to be moving at all. Raphael opened up the door to the cell, using a breaking charm to open the lock since he had no keys. "Celeste, hey." She was laying in a puddle of blood, it was dripping out of her mouth. No, it was too dark to be blood. "Cleanse!" Raphael yelled quickly, jumping back and using a prefab charm. He dropped the vial on the ground, a burst of light encasing Celeste. She shivered as her body stopped glowing, coming to. Her body shook as she coughed, retching up whatever was left. "Thanos must have used a dormant curse that activated when you transformed," Raphael murmured as he checked her over. Her eyes were unfocused, blinking up at the low light of the candles that flickered. "I cleansed you, so you should be fine."

"Th-thanks," Celeste stuttered, coughing. This time it really was blood that flecked her lips, the taste of iron filling her mouth. "Come on, sit up, let's clear your airway." He brought her into a sitting position, wondering what Gabriel was thinking, bringing her down here. "Tired," Celeste panted, leaning her head on his shoulder. "Pain," Raphael exited the cell, closing the door behind him. "I'll be right back," he promised, going to grab one of the first aid kits the angels had brought. They hadn't just delivered soldiers, but thousands of pounds in aid. One of them being first aid kits which Raphael now brought down, knowing how to use it after assisting Lilim with some various things on the battlefield. "I'm back," Raphael said, careful to close the door behind him. Celeste opened one eye, then the other, they were their normal crimson, glistening slightly in the low light.

"Hurts," she moaned. "I know, just hang tight," seeing your sister in the nude was not something anyone wanted to do, but well, at least she was wearing undergarments. He cut away what remained of her dress, being careful around the cuffs. "Here, drink this," he unscrewed a vial with glowing blue liquid and tipped it to her lips. Celeste chugged it down, coughing at the taste. "Nasty," Raphael put the vial aside, threading a sterile needle. There was a large gash on her shoulder where Gabriel had hit her. Even if he had used the blunt side, he had still whacked her with his sword. Slowly Raphael worked, his stitches not the best, but they would do. He covered it in sterile gauze and then used tape to put it in place. "Better?" Celeste let out a sigh, her eyes were still slightly unfocused, as though seeing through him.

She slumped once more, curling up on the ground. Raphael took off his winter coat and draped it across her nude form. "I'm sorry, I can't move you from here, not until..." he trailed off, not until what? They had proof that Thanos wasn't living inside of her? That he wouldn't take over Celeste's body and come back, worse than before? "I'll put in a call to Gremory tonight, hopefully we can get him here soon." He would be able to sort this out, to see if Thanos truly was somehow inside of Celeste.

The battle was over, but there was still so so much for them to do. Satan was gone, Morgana was gone, it seemed things were going to be peaceful from now on... but there was just something about the whole situation that kept a lull of melancholy covering the half destroyed Onyx Citadel, stopping anyone from truly seeing what happened as a real victory. Too much had been lost, what was once a symbol of demon strength and perseverence was now a wreck that they could no longer easily fix, not unless they wanted to ignore rebuilding all the homes and starting farms and other such things. No, they all knew it - Queen Kitra, if she were to survive, would declare that the Onyx Citadel be stripped, and it's parts be used to create houses for those who lost theirs during the war.

Of course, the three demon royals were all on the verge of transformation, Ryker doing his very best to tend to Kitra and Lilim, because if he diverted his attention too much, they'd risk losing all three of them. Scylla was busy tending to Zadkiel in Heaven, but Gremory was available, using magic circles to try to stall the transformations as best as he could. But all through the next day days, the two men would be sleepless as the three would remain in critical condition for a long time yet. The Fallen, under Iaoth's lead, were helping the rebuilding, they tore down the Onyx Citadel and were helping to build a palace type area not very different from what they had in Heaven's mountains, in the temporary demon city of Erebus.

Meanwhile Maya and Gabriel were having their own issues. "You're not going to cause any more trouble, are you?" He asked the woman he loved, because as much as this was a disaster on many levels, he still couldn't deny his feelings, not last time and not this time either. "I won't have to fight you again, will I?" Maya looked at him, none of the playfulness and joy and jealousy and pettiness that made up the previous Maya was there, only a girl who looked lost and alone with no idea what she wanted in the future, unsure what path her life was to take. "I won't. Not anymore." Maya stated in an emotionless voice, not looking at Gabriel. "I won't hurt anyone anymore. But I won't surrender myself to your custody either."

Gabriel stepped back a little, stiffening. So she noticed the cuffs he was trying to sneakily put on her, to make sure Maya wouldn't run away. But she noticed it, and it was too late now. She could get away at any time. "I don't deserve happiness, but I know none of you will let me die for what I did, no matter what Kitra says." She looked wistfully at the sky, thinking back on happier days when they could all joke around and get along. "Gabriel, I'm going to go and watch over the Shadow Realm. Thanos was right, when he took me in, he said I truly belonged there, even if it meant being alone." She stared at the man she slowly grew to love with sadness. It was only after her betrayal when she realized that she loved him, but by then, it was too late. "And I'll lock down the entrance so that curse magic won't flow into this world anymore. I'll close all the portals, so nothing can come in or out, especially curse energy." With Thanos dead, the Shadow Realm was likely going to start leaking lots of curse magic to Heaven and Hell but if she could shut the portals, that extra curse magic would remain n the Shadow Realm where it belonged.

But it also meant she was running away from everyone, never to see any of them again.

Celeste remembered this dungeon, the place where she had first woken up and met Kitra. Now, here she was again, for the third time, locked in the dungeons of the Onyx Citadel. The second had been with Thanos, when he had come everyday to feed her darkness pills in an attempt to corrupt her. For weeks it was all she had eaten, little tablets that tasted like dust. The reminder alone was enough to make her cough and gag, shivering underneath Raphael's coat that he had so kindly left behind so that she might not be naked. "Hey, it's this one here." The clang of keys filled her ears and Celeste tried to retreat into the corner, slightly delirious from the pain medicine. "Boys, bring it!" The door opened, the creaking of the dungeon cell screaming inside of her head. "Princess, we've brought you some food." Her stomach groaned and it was only just then she realized how hungry she was, as though she hadn't eaten in days. Celeste tried to sit up, but found she had no energy to do so, her head spinning like a top.

"There we go, easy now." Someone eased her up, propping her against the wall. "Here Princess," she opened her mouth, receiving bits of bread dipped in something warm, perhaps water to make it go down easier. "We'll try to smuggle you a blanket tonight," Celeste had no idea who these people were, her eyes were too blurry to make out their form but she could tell that they were a mixed group of both angels and demons. "Saved our skins she did," the one speaking was a demon. "An' they treatin' 'er like dirt." Someone else spat on the ground, "it's that Prince, thinks the Princess dangerous so he put 'er down 'ere." She would have told them to shut up, to not talk about her brother like that, but already Celeste was falling back asleep, her body slumping on the ground once more. The jacket was replaced over her, the cell door swung shut and locked. The only evidence of others being there was a small tin filled with water and a half of a roll.

"Hurts," Celeste moaned, wishing that her hands weren't bound so that she could scratch at the stitches that itched her neck. "Pain," Raphael came again, taking a break from being at Lilim's side since he had been ordered out of the room. "Here, I brought you more-" he stopped when he saw the small tin cup filled with water, as well as the roll that had been collecting dirt. "Was someone else here?" Celeste didn't answer, she was rolling on the ground in pain, her bandages stained black from the filth that had collected on the ground. Raphael was in no rush to go back upstairs, he knelt beside her and cleaned her off, using the water from the cup to wash away some of the grime. Once the bandages were replaced he procured a blanket so that he might take back his jacket, but ultimately left it so that she could use it as a cushion.

"I'm gonna talk to Gabriel about it tonight," he said, "we're gonna move you to an empty room." Raphael left again, they couldn't spare anymore pain medicine but he had brought some ice to numb the spot, using the snow from outside. "Kitra wouldn't stand for this if she was up," but Kitra wasn't up, she was in critical condition and could possibly go at any second.

Maybe a few days later, Lilim woke up. She felt strange and light headed but she was the first one. Kitra was doing a little better than before but because her body was made from runes, it had different properties in terms of magic, you had to edit your charms to accomodate for a homunculus body rather than a demon body, and that made things much more complex. Cambion was on a lower priority than the two girls and Lilim didn't like that at all. "You're awake!" Raphael exclaimed and then he wrapped his hands around her before Ryker pulled him off of her because Lilim had just woken up from severe condition, she wasn't ready for anything like that. It hurt bad, but the succubus had had worse in the past. Gabriel was there too but he was hardly paying attention.

"Welcome back." He said softly, seeming on the one hand happy that she was up but sad for another unfathomable reason. "I guess you don't like me." Lilim croaked, feeling cold all over for some strange reason. The former King just looked stunned and he lowered his head. "It isn't like that." He insisted and Lilim wanted to know what was up, having a bad feeling about this. If there was a problem and the angels were being dumb dancing around it, she most definitely wanted to know so that she could solve it! But okay it really did hurt to move because the stab wound had gone all the way through a lung and out her back, Ryker really had to do some crazy improvising to save her.

Gabriel squirmed under the suspicious eye and in the end he spilled it all. Raphael too was shocked to find out Maya's plan, that she was going to run away and hide in the Shadow Realm for all eternity, or for as long as she had control over her monster side, to block the curse from coming into the two realms. "She was going to wait until you woke before leaving, but-" So they had no time to waste. Lilim ripped out her IVs and then felt ridiculously dizzy. "Lilim, please, you need rest, don't do anything drastic!" Ryker warned but she then climbed weakly onto Raphael - or, well, she rolled onto his back to be precise. "Take... me to her. I have to... talk to her."

Maya was training the dragons at the dragon's nest for the time being, but she looked miserable, and who the heck wouldn't be miserable if they knew they were going to be alone for the rest of eternity, with nothing to do ever? "Why? I was about to leave." Lilim hopped off of Raphael, he as a good horse but he did his job. Lilim wasn't well, this was going to make her recovery worse but it was definitely super worth it. "Stop!" She screamed, clinging to one of her bestest friends ever made. "Stop running away! just seal the portals on this end, stop thinking you can get... just ignore your responsibilites for what you... did!" Maya just stood there and then she cried and so Lilim fell and had to be caught. "Horsie.. take me to... to Celty..." Lilim sounded like a dying animal. "Gotta... talk to... her too!"

Celeste had something of a fan club, Raphael soon came to realize. Gabriel hadn't yet caught on, Raphael wasn't sure if their brother had even bothered visiting their sister, who was clearly suffering from pain and half delirious. She had used a lot of energy to do that transformation, it was surprising she had managed to hold it for that long. Raphael often found one or two members of Celeste's fan club prowling the halls of the dungeon, he had even caught one trying to sneak in a letter on behalf of them. "What are you doing?" Raphael questioned and the angel soldier froze. "Well I was um-" he was at a loss. Raphael took the letter and pocketed it, Celeste was in no condition to read. "Do you have permission to be down here?" Th angel shook his head and walked with his metaphorical tail between his legs back out. Raphael threw open the cell door to make sure they hadn't caused his sister any harm. Her skin was pail, she was shivering. Raphael had, had enough. Celeste wasn't a criminal, the opposite was true.

She had saved their skin, she had taken down two powerful foes now and yet it seemed no one knew how to treat her. Sure, it had been dangerous and reckless but had Celeste not done the transformation they may still be out there, fighting. Or worse, dead. "Hang on a bit longer sister, I'll get you out of here." He placed a hand underneath her neck and knees, the stitches on her neck were getting infected from the conditions down here. He needed Celeste in one piece for when Kitra woke up, otherwise the demon might kill him and Gabriel for allowing this to happen. "Move!" Raphael barked as a demon nearly got in his way, diving towards the wall. He moved her to Kitra's room upstairs, knowing that the room smelled like his sister's lover and perhaps she would find comfort in it. The next step was getting a real doctor to look at that wound. Outside, her fan club was gathered, trying to look through the window to see what was happening.

"Get me a doctor," while Ryker was busy, they did have the next best thing, Gremory. It was he who came to check that Celeste was fully cleansed, that there was no darkness inside of her. "She's clean," he declared, emerging from the room. "I cast a ruin for the infection, hopefully her fever will break and go down." That was the best news Raphael had received all week. He stayed by Lilim's side mostly after that, waiting for her to wake up. Celeste was still bound, but at least she was in a real bed and clean, her bandages changed and provided clothing, one of Kitra's nightgowns. She seemed more comfortable too and would hopefully be up and walking around before Kitra came to.

"Alright, alright, hold your horses." Raphael carried Lilim to Kitra's room, opening up the door. Her fan club had left little offerings outside that Raphael largely ignored. They had built a mini alter for their Queen too, right outside of the spot Satan had bashed her half to death. "Celeste, you have a visitor," Celeste was sleeping, which wasn't unusual, she had been floating in and out of consciousness for a few days now.

Lilim wasn't doing so well, but she knew she needed to do this. If they wanted a happy ending, if they wanted to fix things, Maya wasn't allowed to just run away. She was a dear friend, she was important, she mattered, she was worth it. Everyone made mistakes, Kitra kidnapped Celty and she was forgiven, and Lilim was doing better now after being stuck with Liandry's Torment so wasn't it fine, wasn't it okay, couldn't everyone just get along with Maya again? It would be too sad for her to have to live in the Shadow Realm forever, but hopefully she and Gabriel were giving it a nice talk over, hopefully they would restart their love and find some semblance of happiness. So after dealing with Maya and Gabriel, Lilim knew she didn't have time before Ryker yelled at her for tiring herself out, they had to be quick and sneaky. "Horsy, horsy, take me to Celty!" She chanted, trying to appear more okay than she was.

And so Raphael's footsteps pattered and stomped and rushed and scarpered their way to Kitra's room, but of course the Onyx Citadel was hardly a tower anymore, it's stones and bars being used to make a new palace where everyone, not just the nobility and military, could live. Rather, this was Kitra's eventual room with all her old stuff moved in. "Celty, Celty, wake up already, silly." Lilim insisted, curling in next to her, almost jumping away from Raphael so he wouldn't see just how bad the bat was shivering, so he wouldn't notice how cold she was, how tired she was, how much it hurt just to move. "I'm here, Kitty will be too, so don't be all like this or ... or Kitty won't be happy, she'll roar and get all mad for not protecting you!" That was just like their silly Kitty, wasn't it?

The succubus was fading in and out of focus as she tried to seem animated so that Raphie wouldn't have to worry more than he already was. "You're my bestest friend, ever since we first met so long ago, I knew you'd be a good friend." She giggled tiredly, snuggling in close, pressing her bouncy chest against Celeste's side. "I pretended to practice my power on you but I was just shy and didn't know how to talk to you!" She squirmed a little, remembering how hurt Celeste had been back then. "I knew Kitty was doing a bad but didn't stop her and I'm sorry." And that was when Raphael realized how tired Lilim was but he didn't want to tear the girls apart. "Alright." He said loudly. "It's time, you two are getting a sleepover, so you both better sleep right now or I'll have Sunny come and jump on the bed, and we all know he isn't potty trained yet."

Eventually time changed, and so did seasons too. The snow and the wind eventually was traded for something a bit more mild, a comfortable season with a bit more rain than normal to offset the arid landscape that was recovering from the snowfall. Of course this time the snow brought forth a harvest, and Gremory and Scylla were both making great progress on bringing plant life back to Hell, starting primarily with the new capital which remained unnamed as of now. And just like how spring melts the snow, the snow that was once covering Kitra's consciousness was beginning to melt and a month after the final battle, Hell's Queen was beginning to stir. Hopefully she would be greeted by the smiling and happy face of her lover.

Celeste was getting better, with the fever broken and the infection clearing up, she was much more conscious than before. "I can't believe that happened," she groaned, sitting up, quite sore. She vaguely remembered what had happened, being smacked by Gabriel and seeing red. Not necessarily in that order, but her mind was still a bit jumbled. For a day or two, Celeste didn't know who she was or where she lay. That was part of the fever though, the delusions that came when your body was overheated and fighting infection. Thankfully now Celeste was doing much better and with the confusion cleared, her wrists and ankles were no longer bound. Some of her belongings had been brought here by Heaven and with the change in season, Celeste changed as well. Her fan club followed her around the palace, giving her little privacy. Sunny would bound around on her heels as well, quickly learning more tricks. Without Kitra to help her though, Celeste relied on the dragon training book Finn had found for her.

"Any day now they say," Celeste spoke hopefully as she cleaned behind Sunny's ears in the dragon stable. Skyla was anxious to get out, she wanted to see her Master. Celeste had tried to reconcile with the dragon, to soothe her worries, but Skyla wouldn't hear of it. She wanted Kitra and was acting like a brat. "I know, I want to see her too," the snow had begun to melt, the air was growing warm. Little sprigs of green had appeared in the revitalized land. They would be planting crops soon and hopefully the animals would migrate and populate both lands. While demons were meat eaters, Celeste had confidence that they would be smart enough to establish hunting and fishing laws so that they didn't run out of produce. She wanted to help rebuild Hell by Kitra's side, but Kitra wasn't doing much aside from sleeping.

"It must be nice," she said quietly to the sleeping form. "To sleep so peacefully," Celeste's nights were plagued by nightmares, but Kitra seemed to rest without a care in the world. "Please wake up soon," tears leaked down her cheeks. Celeste blinked, having just realized she was crying. "I miss you," her hands shook as she wrung her dress between them, watching Kitra sleep, too afraid to touch her, that she would somehow hurt her. When she exited the med ward, her fan club was waiting there with tissues. "Thank you," she took one gratefully to blow her nose in, unconcerned by the fact that these people were following her around the same way Sunny did. It was reassuring really, even if Gabriel and Raphael thought them to be a nuisance.

"Alright Celeste," Gabriel strode into the room. "We think we've figured out a solution to your problem." Problem? The only problem Celete had was that Kitra wans't awake yet. "You-" Gabriel cut her off. "No, not that problem, your changing problem." Oh, that one. Celeste looked at her lap, quite embarrassed. Gabriel brought forth what looked like a ring, a solid band with inscriptions engraved on the inside. "The twin of this ring will go to Kitra, once she awakens." They still had confidence that she would. "The runes inside are binding, which means that you won't be able to take the ring off. Kitra will be in control of your transformations." Celeste blushed at the thought, knowing how evil Kitra could be when she wanted to. "This will stop all random incidents of you sneezing an turning into a dragon," Celeste winced, they were still fixing the wall from that. It seemed that after the whole, turning into Thanos thing, she had lost all control over her ability and would change at the drop of a hat.

"It will also prevent you from losing yourself," the door slammed open, Raphael was panting. "I-it's time! She's stirring!"

The Queen of Hell was stirring, she twitched, her eyes opened, she made a strange sound that was a a mix between a whimper and a moan and then Raphael suddenly went springing as far and as fast as possible. A set of familiar eyes gazed upon her, it was someone Kitra knew for a long time now. "Celty?" Talking felt like swallowing whole rubber, it wasn't fun, it was painful and hurty but she was awake and that was a miracle in and of itself. "Nope, it's not, it's me. Sorry to disappoint ya, sis." It was Lilim's somewhat nasally yet still pleasant and quirky voice rather than Celeste's high sing song voice. It wasn't really a disappointment, but Kitra really did want to see Celeste. "Glad you didn't... die." The demon queen croaked like a frog. "Sorry for... stabbing... you. I always... hurt you." Lilim waved it off with a grin. "I jumped into it, it was my own fault, no sweat, okay? We won, and that's what matters. We survived, we're going to get to be happy."

Then someone came, carrying another certain someone on his back. "The package is here, Celeste is here!" He shouted, bareling through demons that Kitra vaguely recognized but didn't know well enough to understand why they were here, and Lilim had a bit of a giggle. "That's - ah, I'll let you discover the magic on your own, sis." So the succubus stood up then, floating her way over to Raphael and pecked him on the cheek, the two love birds giving space for Celeste and Kitra, for their long awaited reunion. "Celeste." Kitra breathed, it was like her whole body had received an electric shock. Her hand tried to reach up to touch Celty's face, to brush against her jaw, to pull her close. "Are you... okay? W-was it... why was I... for so long? I'm the Queen, I'm supposed... to be stronger..."

Raphael handed her something then, it looked like a ring. He was talking, saying things about something but all Kitra could see was that it was a ring and there was something she wanted to do, even if drugged up and tired and lethargic from just recently waking up. So Kitra extended her arm with a dazed, tired smile, showing Celeste the ring. "Marry?" She asked, almost like a child. "Be my co Queen? Can... I make you happy?" Lilim giggled and then pinched her lips shut and Raphael just stared in utter shock at how badly this misunderstanding was. "Marry. Be mine." She didn't know where the ring came from but it was the perfect timing, wasn't it?

That was when Gabriel and Maya came in and Kitra was too focused on her proposal to really think about how much she wanted to kill Maya. "So we're heading back to heaven." Gabriel announced suddenly. 'I have to help our parents and a part of Maya's sentence is to transfer children dying of the Light Disease and the Rotting Plague to the Flowe-..." His eyes went wide and buggy. "Whoa, whoa, wait, what is even going on here?" Maya seemed a bit awkward and mostly said nothing and Gabriel scratched at his head. "Isn't it too early for m-marr-" And then Lilim pinched Raphael's butt, somehow using that to shut Gabriel up. "Shh, don't spoil the moment!" She hissed.

It was lonely here, walking these halls with no one to talk to but her fan club. They weren't much help either, seeming to just look for ways to please her. Celeste didn't want that though, she wanted intelligent conversation. Her fan club seemed eager to praise everything she did, approving of her every decision from what dress she decided to wear to the plans for the new Onyx Citadel. Of course Celeste was having building materials brought from Heaven since they were using as much as they could salvage of the old Onyx Citadel to rebuild the population. While the plans weren't finalized, they had been drafted and boy were they different. Instead of cold stone walls, there would be warm colored ones with large windows to allow natural light into the space. The dungeon had been changed as well, seeing as how it was still a rudimentary system with iron walls and chains that hung from the rafters.

Celeste was in one such meeting when Raphael came running and literally grabbed Celeste, putting her on his back and bolting. "What is it? What's wrong?" Celeste asked in alarm, papers flying from her hands. "Kitra!" Raphael panted and Celeste went stiff. Did something happen? Had she taken another turn for the worse? Her heart leaped into her throat, Celeste was already so nervous she thought she might faint. By the time they reached the med ward she was on the verge of tears. "Come on, inside," Raphael deposited Celeste back onto her feet, both angels stumbling forward. At first Celeste saw no change, Kitra was still in bed, Lilim blocking her view. Nervously she stepped forward, seeing Kitra's eyes wide and looking around. "Kitra!" It was as though someone had turned on the waterworks. Tears sprung to her eyes, choking her up. Celeste knelt on her knees beside the bed so that Kitra could trace her finger along her jawline.

She knew she wasn't supposed to, but Celeste couldn't help but clamber into bed beside her."Don't apologize, it's okay, you did your best. You fought your hardest," Celeste curled up into her lover's side. "I missed you so much, every breath was painful without you by my side." She leaned up to kiss Kitra's collarbone, taking in her scent and the sharp twang of lemon floor cleaner. It seemed it didn't matter what Kingdom you were in, the lemon scented floor cleaner was the standard of hospitals and med wards everywhere. Raphael reached over to hand Kitra something and Kitra in her confusion, popped the question. Celeste blinked, taken aback. Was she serious? Did she mean it?

"Yes!" Celeste squealed, throwing her arms around Kitra's neck, her lips finding her's. "That's not what the rings are for-" but Gabriel's words were lost. Lilim didn't want anyone to spoil the moment either, lending a hand in quieting both boys. "I love you," Celeste whispered, her words meant only for Kitra's ears.

And with a yes and a kiss, the deal was sealed, even though the rings were meant to be a power inhibitor for Celeste, to control her and keep her stable, it somehow turned out that it would be the method Kitra used to propose, to finally say what she wanted to for such a long time now, now that they truly had real peace and the prospect of a long and happy life together from then on. And so time passed, and as the Onyx Citadel was finally cleared away, as new building materials were brought in from Heaven, pearlstone to add to Hell's famed ebonstone, it seemed times were changing drastically. There was a city in Heaven for demons, Erebus, built into the mountains, and Kitra grinned as she approved of this new project, new rings on both her and Celeste's hands. It seemed the comedic fanclub wasted no time in spreading the news of the engagement.

"Let's name it Erets Tachtith." Kitra decided suddenly with a shrug. There wasn't much meaning behind it, she just liked the name and how it reminded her of brave warriors of old from a distant past age. "It'll be our new home." Unlike the cold and foreboding Onyx Citadel, Erets Tachtith was going to be built to be warm and inviting, full of happy homes and wide streets and windows and lights for everyone to enjoy - although it would always be considerably dim compared to the bright lights that shone in typical angel cities. Of course, it was a bit of a mouthful to say, so most people could just call it Erets.

Trade was going much more smoothly between the two regions and gardens of grass were being grown, and soon after that, flowers of various types. Maya helped pick them out, showing a surprising skill with horticulture that no one could have really expected. "I dunno, it just clicked, Gabriel gave me a book, told me to read it, and I turned out to be good at it." She smiled toothily, showing a bit more of her old happy self. "Let's make Hell beautiful, Kitty. And I'm sorry for everything." This was a few months after that fight and Kitra no longer really blamed her for it anymore. The time for revenge and grudges were over. At Celeste's advice, it was now time for forgiveness and redemption.

And so one fateful morning as the calm spring air blew, it was time to announce Erets Tachtith to everyone, the new hubbub for demon society to center around, for them to gather and congregate, and for as many people as needed to move in and live and find new lives to live to fit this new age of peace. "Demons, angels, fallen." Kitra squeezed her beloved's hand at the podium in the town square, a big open area where children of all ages seemed to already love hanging out around. "Erets Tachtith, the new capital of Hell, is now complete! All our hard work was worth it!" Of course there was one more thing and Kitra handed Celeste the scissors. "Wanna do the honors, love? She asked, pointing at the red ribbon at the entrance of City Hall, which was where the rulers would do their business. Of course, Kitra and Celeste had their own private residence, and there was a certain new invention made by a certain famous Runologist. Lilim invented it, an Aura Lamp, you fed light or dark pills in and then it glows and emits the correct aura, so there was no longer any need for anyone to have to swallow those horrible tasting pills ever again.

With a wedding to plan and a land to rebuild, you could honestly say that Celeste was busy. Between approving building schematics and choosing flower arrangements, Celeste was exhausted. The ring on her finger glimmered in the low light of the palace, a reminder of what was to come, a future of peace and happiness. Celeste only wished that her parents could see how well she was doing, exceeding anyone's expectations. They had all thought her to be a failure and in all honesty, Celeste in the beginning had believed she would never amount to anything significant. Now here she was, negotiating trade laws to ensure the market wouldn't become corrupt. While demons could lie, angels could also take advantage of a situation and she didn't want anyone to feel cheated. They had a reputation to uphold and as such the new laws were put into effect almost immediately to ensure that no one could cheat or lie.

Kitra named the new land from a mighty warrior in history no doubt and Celeste smiled. "Erets Tachtith, I like it." She had no idea what it meant or who it was, but it had a catchy name. "We could call it ET for short," she giggled, her fingers woven between Kitra's as the two walked. It was so nice that Kitra was up and about again, that she was no longer bed ridden or confined to a wheelchair. While Celeste didn't mind taking care of her, there were certain things she missed. Moments like these when they could walk together to the dragon nest or be especially active in certain activities. Like Celeste had predicted, Kitra sometimes used the ring for her own slightly evil intentions. Not that Celeste minded, she just never knew if she was going to wake up as Celeste, Lacie, or one of the other new personas they invented for their entertainment.

Today was a most historical day, the first integrated community was to be opened. A place where not only demons could live, but angels and fallen who were also victims in this war. Plenty had lost their homes, many had fled Heaven after the battle of the fallen and had come to Hell in hopes of a better life. The revitalization of the land was going smoothly with Maya over seeing it and Gremory replenishing the soil. Yes the future was looking brighter each day and Celeste was certain that once Hell saw green, it would truly begin to flourish. It was all because of Kitra, who was working so diligently as the Queen to connect all of the puzzle pieces and create one beautiful picture. "Look, it's budding!" Celeste said, pointing to the little garden of plants around Erets Tachtith. It was almost time for the ceremony, soon the empty houses would be filled with love and laughter. The booths would overflow with goods from both lands and children would play in the street after school hours.

She took the scissor from Kitra, cutting through the large ribbon. Her smile was bright as she turned back towards Kitra, the aura lamps were glowing vibrantly to provide light to the angels that would be moving in. "Welcome home!" Celeste chimed with a giggle, her hand finding Kitra's once more. "You should take a bow, they're all looking at you expectantly."

❝Truth and lies and everything is reborn.❞

When ruling a nation, there were several things that had to be kept in mind at all times. First was the happiness of your people, no doubt, but second was commerce. Also of high importance is literacy rate, crop growth and supply, military - although as of now there wasn't much need for it - culture, population growth. There were so many variables they had to juggle all the time, so that every night was both a break and a relief, where Kitra could torment and bully Celeste as she wished in the best of ways, sometimes seeing what Celete would look like with bigger breasts, or with green hair, or with any other number of variables. But at the end of the day, her favorite transformation of her lover would always be her original form, and Kitra never failed to make that known.

And so here they were, in the war torn land of Hell that once was a wasteland whose fields were only fertilized with the corpses of their enemies and dead friends. Now it was going to one day be vibrant and wonderful, maybe as beautiful and plentiful as Heaven was. Of course they had a time limit as with all things - Kitra used her monster side far too often, she relied on it more than the average demon, so it'd take over faster than if she had just used her electricity and Reginleif. There was no need for it now, but the damage was done, Thanos's last laugh. So Kitra squeezed Celeste's hand, their rings clinging against each other and then she did a bow. "Thank you for supporting us for all this time. We'll make Hell a wonderful place, all of us will do our part."

At the next Zodiac Meeting, with progress on everything had been advancing, Kitra even assigned Celeste to help draft a curriculum for children of Hell to learn at schools, this time instead of any talks of war, the One God hardly said anything but congratulations and that he would be monitoring this peace they made. Though he said nothing of it, Ami and Finn found that both their Leo marks had filled in, so their request was approved. On a less happy note, Sagittarius was finally given away to new contenders, it was a sign that Mizuki truly was gone for good, would never be able to return. Raphael cried a lot that day, but his tears were stifled with Lilim told him that she wanted to get pregnant and maybe name their first kid a mix of Zepar and Mizuki which could only end up being a silly name. Mizupar? Zeki? What the heck was Lilim even thinking?

As the meeting ended and Maya set up various portals for everyone to go to their homes, Ami and Finn approached. It was nice being in the Flowersea again, in the land of rebirth, Oz was being used to power it and he was kept far away in a quiet location so his screams wouldn't bother anyone. "We heard about Erets." Ami said with a grin, siding up right next to Celeste. "We made up quite a lot of money from our jobs as Knights, so why not? We want a vacation home in Erets, so, you got any recommendations, Celty?" Finn nodded excitedly. "We want a place with a good view so we can watch as Hell becomes something extraordinary." As of now, both Heaven and Hell were almost demilitarized zones, many of Heaven's soldiers retired because there was no need anymore, and most of Hell's soldiers found they could better help their two queens if they took other jobs, if they helped build, or if they learned how to teach, and a surprising amount became farmers or traders.

But perhaps the biggest surprise was Gabriel's announcement. "We'll be starting the individual trials for each of the Fallen very soon." He told everyone at the Zodiac table, with Zadkiel and Callisto looking over him. They were still the official King and Queen, but they were mostly in the back seat, letting Gabriel learn bit by bit how to accept his duty. "And judging from that, they'll be given Heaven Citizenship if they prove redeemed." He glanced at Kitra and Celeste then. "As a show of good faith, do you want to offer the Hell Citizenship to any approved Fallen?" Kitra poked him then. "Dude, we're like, siblings now, you don't gotta talk so formal. Of course we'll do it, so the approved Fallen can live wherever they please!" Gabriel was still learning, still getting used to his new role, but with Maya at his side and no Council digging into him, he looked happy to learn and practice.

Times were changing, it would be a new, happier era, one where angels and demons weren't always at war. Everyone here was going to build the foundations to make a truly peaceful world that would last long past their lifetimes.

It was whirlwind of activity, Celeste didn't know how many days had passed or how long she was in Hell for, but the time had finally come. The day of their wedding was to be a grand event, a unity between Heaven and Hell that was being held at the gate. They had stayed in an inn the night before, the two girls separated as was tradition. The angels threw Celeste a party, her Mother making sure that no funny business went down. "Our first legal same gendered marriage," Ami grinned, hooking an arm around Celeste's shoulder. "Who would have thought it would be the Princess of all people?" Celeste blushed, looking away. "You can't help who you fall in love with," you had no more control over it than the color of the sky or the way you walked. "No one's blaming you," Ami laughed and raised her glass. "To our future!" Everyone else responded in kind, their glasses clinking as they drank a bubbly mix that made her stomach warm.

The next morning couldn't come soon enough. A hairdresser and makeup artist came to get prepare her, styling her hair in soft ringlets that fell in waves across her shoulders. They kept the makeup light, only using it to accentuate features. Her wedding dress was the real thing to behold, woven with small lights that twinkled underneath the hemline of her gown. Her Mother was crying, ruining the makeup that had just been applied. The angel fussed over her daughter, pinning something onto the veil. "For good luck," she smiled, kissing Celeste's cheek and making the makeup artist groan. "I just applied that powder!" After a bit more fussing it was finally time. Celeste's stomach fluttered excitedly, her nerves getting the best of her. "What if she says no?" She suddenly asked, panicked. Ami laughed, rearranging the skirt of her gown. "Why would Kitra say no? If anything, she should be afraid of you saying no!"

The wedding hall was adorned in colorful flowers of all shape and sizes. The guests were sitting on either side of the gate, people coming from far and wide to witness this historical event. The first legal angel-demon marriage. "I'm so nervous," Celeste whispered, tugging at one of her curls. "Stop that, you're going to ruin them," Callisto batted Celeste's hand away. Celeste settled for biting down on her lip, the carriage pulling up to the stands. The music began to play, Celeste took in a deep breath as the carriage door opened and she stepped out, the veil covering her face. Her joy and nerves were both getting the best of her and she was glad when her Mother linked her arm through Celeste's. Her Father and Cambion had walked Kitra down the isle only moments before.

Lilim sidled up beside her, the three of them walking towards the stand where the first day of the rest of her life was about to begin. Sunny roared, shooting fire into the air in a pleasantly warm stream. He was clearly excited, sitting next to Skyla who placed a large claw on his head to make him stop. Celeste couldn't help but giggle, walking up the three short steps to face her lover. "We are gathered here today to witness a most historic event!" The officiant began, grinning from ear to ear.

It was time for the wedding. Since it was two girls, and moreover, an angel and a demon, it was a first for many things, and it was confusing for many people as there wasn't a precedent to really copy from, so they had to do things originally, taking a mix of demon's tribal nature and angels and their modernity. They both shared the tradition of having the spouses apart prior to the wedding, though. The night before Kitra had roomed with Minerva for a break because Cambion kept grinning at her and Lilim wouldn't stop fussing over every detail of her ornate dress. It was black, but distinct from a mourning dress because of the silvery frills that danced down the hems of the trail, the poofy glittery sleeves, the silver steely crown atop the head. "They don't stop making a big deal of it." Kitra sighed, laying close to her best friend and former intimate partner. "Well, to be fair." Minervia giggled. "Isn't it really a huge deal?"

And a big deal it was. Perhaps to symbolize the crowning jewel of all their efforts of the past year, the wedding hall was built and placed in Erets Tachtith, right in the new and bustling town square. It really was an event that so many people were excited for, more than Kitra ever thought was possible. Still, a part of this didn't feel right. Maybe she was just being silly and thinking too much, but the first wedding of an angel and a demon really should have been Michael and Zepar. "Your father was a brother to me." Zadkiel said at the gate entrance. "I'll walk you in his place, Kitra, because I see you as a daughter." And just as unruly as a daughter too. It was time to start it. Cambion was on her other side, looking at her proudly through tired eyes. "I bet Father's watching, proud of what we created." Kitra herself couldn't think of anything to say and the applause crescendoed the further she went down the aisle.

Just behind them was Callisto and Lilim escorting Celeste, Lilim taking great care to make sure Celeste didn't trip and fall during the walking part, sneakily brushing her tail at Celeste's dress trails to keep them safely and harmlessly out of the way of her moving feet. And so it was time, the officiant was speaking, and if someone looked carefully perhaps they could see a faint outline that the One God, too, was observing. "Kitra Vacivus, Queen of Hell." He looked to Kitra with a smile. "Tell us now, your wedding vows, tell your bride's father your vows of love." Kitra paled, she had forgotten about this part of the ceremony, the book on angel traditions left half opened on her bed.

"I vow..." She started slowly, dramatically, trying to pretend that this was all a part of her plan. She'd grown used to speeches after all. "To always cherish and love Celeste with all of my heart, and to place her happiness above mine." Callisto was already crying and Zadkiel's eyes weren't dry either. "I vow to make her happy, after all of our hard work, to make it all worth it." She took a deep breath, knowing Celeste must have realized she didn't prepare for this part. "Never will a day pass where Celeste doesn't feel the extent of my love for her." She grinned then, going into her stride. "And I'll never ever let go of her hand." The officiant looked to Zadkiel then. "If you accept those vows and hand your daughter over to her suitor, we may proceed to hearing Celeste's vows."

"I accept," Zadkiel beamed. The officiant turned towards Celeste, it was her turn. Celeste had been thinking about this a lot, about the vows she would make and how she would deliver them. The veil had been lifted to make sure that it was really her, a tradition passed down when a cousin thought they were marrying the girl they had loved when in fact he had accidentally married her sister, who had disguised herself by using a veil and not removing it until it was too late. "I vow," Celeste couldn't help but smile, she felt suddenly shy in front of all of these people, the way they were all gazing upon the two girls in love. "To cherish every moment we are together, from the little things like the way the sun twinkles when I'm by your side, to the sound of the wind at this very moment," as though on cue, a gust gently swept by, swishing through their gowns. "I vow to smile at all of your silly jokes and be there when you cry, to watch you thrive and fall like the freshly driven snow." She took in another shaky breath, Celeste didn't think there was anything that could make her concentration slip.

"And to love you with all of my heart." Cambion accepted the vows and the minister continued. "Celeste Angeal, do you take Kitra Vacivus in sickness and in health, in love and sorrow, to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Celeste nodded, nearly forgetting to speak. "I do," the minister turned towards Kitra. "Kitra Vacivus, do you take Celeste Angeal, in sickness and in health, in love and sorrow, to be your lawfully wedded wife?" It seemed as though all of their guests were holding their breath, waiting for an answer. "Please exchange rings," there were two small boxes presented to them, inside were the bands that would mark this occasion, engraved with the heart beat of the other girl. Celeste picked up Kitra's and placed it on her finger and once the other ring was safely on Celeste's the minister began to speak once more. "I now pronounce you wife and wife, you may now kiss the bride."

The roar of applause filled her head the same way fireworks filled her stomach. Their first kiss as a married couple, Celeste's no longer Kitra's bride but wife. She felt excited and nervous as the first day of the rest of their lives began. Celeste took Kitra's hand, the two of them running down the isle and to the carriage as their guests threw flower petals at them, the petals getting stuck in their hair and gowns. Celeste was breathless as the carriage door closed to take them to where the party was being held. Celeste's hand was still in Kitra's, the two girls sitting beside each other. "We did it," her heart was fluttering like mad, Celeste thought that she might pass out. "We did it we-we're married."

It was with a breath of relief that Zadkiel agreed to their commune. It was a terrifying moment where Kitra thought that Zadkiel would remember all of the bad things Kitra had done over the years, thought that he would remember who it was that took off her wing in the first place, who it was that kidnapped her way back in the beginning of it all. And then Celeste made her vows, and every delicate word made Kitra's heart jump even higher and it made her wonder just how idyllic their lives would be after all the pain and suffering it took to get here in the first place. They did the climb, and here now was their reward. Her big brother accepted the vow too, then, Cambion handing her over to the Angeal family. "I do." Kitra said and then they were given permission to kiss. There were many kisses shared between them in the past, but this one Kitra would always remember until the end of time, the kiss to mark that finally, she was Celeste's, and Celeste was hers, no one could take that away from either of them, ever again.

Through much fanfare and many flowers, the two wives were seated in a large ornate carriage being pulled by two unicorns, both of them sparkling and decorated just for the occasion. Given a tiny brief respite of privacy, Kitra glomped Celeste and smirked. No one could hear them here, at least for the time being, they were safe. "Too many people." She gasped breathlessly, her tongue sneaking its way into Celty's mouth. "You're so beautiful, all wrapped up like a present for me to open." She grinned deviously. "And once we're alone, you can bet I'll open you right up, Celty, so you'd better be prepared, hmm?" Although they wouldn't really have bloody sheets to prove the consummation or anything though.

At the party, the party that Lilim proclaimed herself as the head organizer for, guests were invited up to speak to everyone on the podium, to tell stories and crack jokes and entertain all the guests. The first one there was a farmer demon talking about how even back when Celeste was a prisoner, the moment she fought back against Kitra was the moment they all took bets on their soft hearted Queen falling in love with her. "Queen Kitty's just so gentle, she didn't stand a chance for that adorable prisoner girl!" The farmer chuckled. Lilim spoke of the first time she met Celeste, about their persevering friendship and how Celeste inspired her to master both runes and charms in order to be a master inventor, Gabriel told them about all the times Celeste helped him on his journey to accept the throne. So many stories everyone told of the two lovers, some funny, some touching, a few managed to steal tears, particularly Zadkiel describing Celeste as a fragile glass doll that he wanted to keep safe forever, but knew would be happiest if he gave her away for Kitra to care for.

It was then that Raphael suddenly stood up. "I don't want to fight anymore, I want to be a chef!" He declared loudly, definifely drunk, and then sat down, remembering that this was the wedding, that it was probably rued up suddenly stand and yell but for some reason people were clapping and applauding him regardless.

Celeste blushed at Kitra's words, knowing that it was a promise. She decided to play that game where she whispered something naughty in Kitra's ears, knowing that her lover wouldn't be able to do anything like it until much later. Her smile was innocent, she seemed to almost be glowing. "It's strange," she admitted, "Knowing that we're married and yet feeling exactly like the same. Sort of like a birthday, but stronger?" Celeste wasn't sure how to describe this sensation; knowing that everything would be different and not feeling it yet. Perhaps later on she would by hit by the full affect of what being married meant. The carriage clanged and jostled the two girls together, making Celeste bump Kitra's shoulder. Their hands remained intertwined, a warm comfort on the sunny day. "It's amazing how much things have changed in such little time,"a ll around them the landscape had begun to thrive.

Stories were swapped at the wedding. Ones of Celeste and Kitra as well. Kitra first discovering her power and crying after she had killed a bug with it (that one was provided by Cambion) the first time they had laid eyes on their new Queen and knew that she was destined for greatness (a villager), how he had hated Kitra at first but slowly warmed up to her after seeing how tender and caring she was with his sister (Raphael). Celeste spent a lot of time talking and laughing, taking sips of bubbly here and there and sometimes a nibble of food. The two girls fed each other cake from the large chocolate and vanilla sections after cutting into it together. Once dessert had been passed around and the dancing had commenced, Celeste was certain that she wasn't going to get a moment alone with the girl she had just been married to.

By the end of the event her feet were aching and she wanted nothing more than to lie down beside Kitra and rest. The guests had all but gone home, only family remaining. "I guess we should make our way back home," Callisto said. She looked down at Celeste and Kitra, tears glimmering in her eyes. Raphael was thoroughly drunk and passed out in a chair, Gabriel had politely abstained from drinking as he hated having anything impairing his judgement. Her parents had mingled with people from far and wide, her Father seeming brighter than he had before, now that he had his limbs back. They had used Ryker's research to regrow them and after spending much time in physical therapy, he was able to walk and move on his own once more. Like learning to ride a bike, one never really forgot how to fly. "We'll give you girls sometime alone," Zadkiel winked at Kitra, completely understanding the need to spend time together as newlyweds.

"You're leaving on your honeymoon tomorrow, right?" Gabriel questioned, his face slightly tilted in a frown. "Yes, we leave sometime in the afternoon," Gabriel handed her a small wrapped box. "To make the journey a bit more entertaining," he said before looping his arm around Maya's. "We're going to turn in for the night I think, we'll see you in the morning." Celeste turned towards Kitra, her shoes had disappeared somewhere underneath a table, her bare toes touching the freshly grown grass. "Ready?" Celeste asked, seeming to shine as the light of the moon illuminated her dress, the tiny flecks still glowing.

The night after the wedding, Kitra knew that there was something that absolutely must be done. It was time for them to consummate the marriage, and well, the bloody sheets were going to need to be used if they wanted to have the public believe that Celeste maintained her purity until the wedding. "It's time for you to be opened up, for my to unwrap this gift of mine, isn't it?" Kitra grinned with a deep sensual hunger, gripping and pulling at the ribbons and cloth that made up Celeste's wedding dress. "You look beautiful, but you look best with nothing on." And so she devoured Celeste until both girls were exhausted in their bedsheets. "Hang on, let's do this. Sorry, I'll make it gentle." So Kitra made a tiny but on Celeste's leg with her scissor blade and then spread it over the sheets, making it stained red. "So they won't suspect anything." And so the girls fell asleep beside each other, for the first time as wives.

Their honeymoon was a seaside trip on a yacht just for the two of them. That meant it was going to be smaller than the average yacht, and it was one that had very simple instructions on how to control so that Kitra or Celeste could easily pick it up and not have too much trouble. They were going to explore the sea beyond the Hotel Loupelle, to find out what lied farther south. Up to the north was the Flowersea and the Ebisu continent, a wasteland of snow. What could exist in the far south oceans, there was only one way to find out! "And here we are, I guess, according to the instructions from Zadkiel." Kitra glanced at Celeste with an exited, eager grin. They both had an aura lamp with plenty of pills for the both of them, of course.

"According to this Zadkiel and Callisto once tried to explore past this area on the map." She pointed to a spot that was below the Hotel Loupelle, shrouded in darkness since it hadn't been searched yet. "But they had to go back because Callisto got sea sick. I wonder if we can make it farther?" Hopefully, but even if not, an adventure by the sea was going to be amazing either way. Kitra paused, thinking. "We'll make it back for Lilim to come to term, right?" Demons were pregnant for about five months, and who knew how long this explorative honeymoon would take? She announced her pregnancy at the wedding, but quietly because the main attraction was of course, the newlyweds.

As the girls set off to the Southern Sea, things were changing in Heaven and Hell. After Kitra signed the paper that ensured all approved Fallen could choose from either a Heaven or Hell citizenship, it seemed that there was peace between the three races at last. Pretty quickly the slaver Fallen decided to give it up when they saw that the others were welcomed with open arms back into real society. They started working hard and studying to be elligible for redemption, and Gabriel was rapidly seen as the savior of the Fallen, since this was his reform in the first place. And about a week after the honeymoon began, Gabriel officially announced that he and Maya were going to be lovers. Not engaged yet, but they were both ready to become serious.

"You've been waiting all day to say that haven't you?" Celeste inquired with a giggle, the two of them finally alone. Her parents were staying in a nearby inn, not wanting to impose on the staff at the castle, or perhaps maybe to escape for some alone time. It was different this time, although the two had done the deed together before, this time they were doing it together as a married couple. The rings on their fingers proved that they were together in holy matrimony, a union approved by all. It was the first of its kind, unique to both girls. Everything from the traditions right down to the rings engraved with the signature of one another's heartbeats. "Hang on, I know you're eager, but I don't want to rip the dress." In truth, Celeste had simply worn something special underneath for Kitra that she wanted her partner to see. It was going to come off too, of course, but Celeste had worn it just for the girl she loved.

The cut was small and healed quickly, while it did sting, it did nothing to take the excitement out of their time together. Celeste went to bed thoroughly exhausted, feeling as though she had flown a marathon. In the morning the two girls dressed and packed in preparation for their honeymoon. "The ocean," Celeste's eyes sparkled as she thought about it. "Can you believe it? We're going to be sailing on the open ocean, searching for land, just like our parents did!" She giggled, unable to hold back her excitement. Celeste had a sudden, strange thought then. "If Lucifer had never went against my Father," Celeste said slowly. "Kitra, you could have been born an angel," it was a very confusing thought indeed, that in an alternate world, both girls would have been angels. Or perhaps Kitra an angel and Celeste a demon? There was no point in thinking about it, Celeste just thought it funny.

Their vessel, while not overly large, was still a sight to behold. It was sterling and sparkling, the deck freshly swabbed. "Wow," Celeste gasped, going inside to see their room. It was a cozy space with a galley for a kitchen and shelves full of books. While small, it was warm and Celeste decided that she already liked it. The two of them would be sailing on an adventure to chart the oceans and would hopefully return by the time Lilim had her baby. "Of course, we'll come back well before just to make sure we don't miss it." They couldn't skip out on ruling after all, Kitra was Queen. While Celeste had no say in most matters, she did like to think that she had influenced a few of the meetings in the hopes of improving conditions. Now that they were married, Celeste had some semblance of power and she would be careful not to abuse it.

"Our adventure awaits," Celeste untied the boat from the dock, the machine coming to life. Celeste jumped and squealed, startled by the sound of the engine. "Where did they find this thing?" She asked, clinging to Kitra in fear of the gurgling sounds that propelled them forward. Had her family smuggled this ship from Obsidian? Or perhaps it was one of Gremory's newer inventions?
