❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

"Ouch!" The angel had pricked her finger on a thorn, a droplet of red running down her finger. "Be more careful!" Mizuki came running over, looking at the small wound and tsked. Her older sister was rare, an angel born with black hair and wings the color of the raven. "It's okay, look, it stopped bleeding!" Mizuki wasn't satisfied though. She took out a bandage, wrapping it around the injured finger. "You need your hands to paint, it'd be a shame to ruin your gift." Celeste looked away, puffing out her cheeks. "It's my only talent, unlike you and our brothers." Mizuki sighed, ruffling her little sister's fluffy white hair. "You remind me of someone, but I can't place it," Mizuki sighed, taking a few steps away. Celeste hiked up her dress, running to keep up. "Hey Mizu, today's the day isn't it? Mother and Father will let me go to the village for the art show, right?" Mizuki winked, "We're doing everything to make it happen, just sit tight."

"No," a chill ran down her spine. Her mother stood before her, sitting on her throne. "Sorry sweetie, you know that there's no one who can overrule your mother, not even me." King Zadkiel shook his head and sighed, knowing that when it came to his children, Queen Callisto's word was law. "But I want to go! It's the first year I'm old enough to display my work!" Queen Callisto narrowed her eyes. "Do you not recall what happened the last time you went to the town square?" Celeste looked away, shuffling her feet. She heard a sigh, feathers ruffling as her mother walked down and hugged her. "We love you very much Celeste, but you did not inherit the family combat trait. You're not able to protect yourself," Celeste's jaw clenched. "I can bring Mizuki with me, or Raphie, he'll come!" She bunched the fabric of her dress in her hands, feeling tears blossom in her eyes. "My answer is no, don't ask again."

"Stop trying to ruin my life!" Celeste pushed her mother away, running down the hall and to the door. A prisoner in her own home, she wasn't sure how long it had been like this, months perhaps, or maybe years. "I wanted to show them my art," Celeste collapsed right inside the doors to her room. "I wanted to show everyone that I'm not weak and useless." She wanted to prove to the world that she was worth her title of Princess. Most days it seemed like she could only do wrong to her inheritance. She wasn't strong or physically gifted like her eldest siblings, she was small and weak, her hands soft and nimble, most often stained with the paints she used to depict watercolor scenes. "I'll never be like them," she whispered, her window creaking open, the light shining on her. Celeste shook out her wings, rising to her feet.

Fine then, she wouldn't go, but they couldn't keep her grounded forever. Balancing on the edge of the windowsill, Celeste opened up her wings to their full length, taking a leap. At first, it was rough, she dropped, having to keep her shriek in as her wings pumped, then, they lifted, carrying her through the sky. Celeste opened her eyes, her expression becoming joyful. Flying always made her feel better, up here, she didn't have to listen to anyone. "Hey sissy," Michael came up beside her, his feathers brushing hers. His wings were the color of a sparrow's egg with light flecks of deep blues. "Leave me alone," Celeste puffed out her cheeks. "All of your paintings sold, as soon as the town's people saw your signature, it became a mad dash." Her paintings had been sent in advance, it was a requirement of the show. "It's not worth it, I wanted to be there, to see their reactions, instead I'm trapped here."

Michael banked right, blocking her path. "Leave me alone!" Celeste whimpered. He grabbed her wrists, their wings touching. "Just listen, mom and dad would never forgive themselves if you turned human, you were already nearly kidnapped once." He drove Celeste further down, until they were close to her window again. "I don't agree with it, but it's for the best." He pushed gently on her stomach, but with his super strength, it was enough to send Celeste inside, her head hitting the other wall. The window swung shut and the girl curled up on the floor, nursing a headache. She heard someone calling for her, but Celeste couldn't hear them, her ears were ringing.

Nightfall came, devouring the sky and turning it to darkness. She sat in her room, writing letters of thanks for the gifts to her grandmother, who was the sole survivor of the Great War. Her Nana enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, saying that she was old and didn't have use for material items anymore. It was merely an excuse of course, angels didn't age, apparently, demons didn't either. There was a knock at the window, someone throwing a rock against it. Celeste ignored it, no doubt her brothers were fooling around in the garden, it wasn't unusual for them to be up at all hours of the night. She went back to her writing when another stone was thrown. Celeste put her things down, going to see if maybe she could join them. The Princess opened her window ever so slightly and felt a brush of cold. The window pushed itself open on its own, hands grabbing at her. "Stay away!" She screamed, knocking over an easel. "Don't touch me!" A piece of wet cloth was shoved against her nose, smelling salts invading her senses. Her nightgown tore as she stumbled, falling to the ground. "Help," the princess crowed weakly. The doors burst open, but it was too late, they were already gone.

When her head cleared and her eyes opened every so slightly, Celeste was nursing a terrible headache. She was still in her torn nightgown, the silk fabric clinging to her. "Where... am I?" She tried to move, a scream retched from her body. Her wing, there was blood dripping across the soft white down. It was pinned to the wall with spikes. Her eyes widened and Celeste couldn't focus. Her wrists and ankles were both chained, her feet unable to touch the ground. Celeste felt sick, her wings were her most precious asset, without them, she really was useless.

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

A pitter patter of steps echoed in the main hall of the palace, decorated black and red, a generally gloomy atmosphere. Tiny steps made their way to one of the rooms, following after her big and talented sister. Kitra idolized her big sister but her clumsy little legs couldn't keep up with the confident strides Furfur made. "Hurry up, Kit, or you'll be late." Furfur said with a lopsided grin and Kitra nodded, trying to drag her spear behind her. It was still too big for her small body, but Father wanted her to learn to fight under Fur's guidance. "Father won't be happy if you don't learn to fight, ya know?" Kitra nodded, trying to keep up with her favorite sibling. "Then I can be strong like you, Fur!" Kit said brightly, eyes sparkling.

On the way to the training ground they spotted a trail of candy spilled on the ground. It was Kitra's younger brother, Buer, yet again. Furfur decided to whack him on the head with the flat of her giant sword, groaning. Buer fell to the ground, but he was used to this sort of thing. Demons were a sturdy type, so it wasn't really abuse. "I'm hungry." Buer protested, acting like a petulant child. "It tastes good." Furfur grimaced and you could tell she wanted to beat him in the face with a stick. "If you keep eating you'll get fat, you friggin brat!" Kitra waved her lance and poked Buer in the belly with the non-bladed end. "Don't be fat!" She said with a grin, feeling a bit like an older sister.

After Buer prostated himself and apologized, the two sisters continued down the hall to the training area where Ronove and Zepar were, swords clashing violently against each other. Ronove was smirking as he swung his sword, and Zepar grimaced each time, doing her best to keep up. You could see the sparks flying from the way the blades ground against one another. "Ignore'em." Furfur muttered casually, waving her hand. "They're always like this. Idiots." Ronove was able to remain in his human state but Zepar was already unleashing the demonic form inside, ears elongating, skin becoming harder, a barbed tail swishing behind her.

"You won't.. win! I'll ... I'm stronger, definitely, definitely!" Demons got a power boost the more of their demon form they let show, but otherwise looked relatively human most of the time. The only exception was Lilim - she was pretty weak no matter what, always sporting those wings of hers. Ronove was being almost casual as he deflected hit after hit. "Father always liked me more, isn't it obvious why?" Ronove really was a strong and talented big brother, he knew how to do everything! And Zepar was always so cool the way she always tried her best!

Finally it was their turn. "Don't worry, I'll go easy on ya, okay?" Furfur was super cool, with that flaming red hair and the sword that burned with the power of flames. Everything about Furfur was like a blistering inferno of strength, and it was no surprise that she was the physically strongest of all the siblings. Kitra nodded, an eager smile on her face. "Yes, my best, I'll do my best!" Kitra wasn't strong enough to lift her spear yet, but then she decided to let out part of her demon self out, and she felt tentacles and scissor blades stretching out from her back. Now, Kitra had the strength to lift it. "I'll be strong too!" Kitra smiled and lunged forward.

She woke up fitfully, to someone pulling her awake. It was her servant, Avara. Each of the siblings had a servant with them, and they were all different, of course. Avara's quirk was her greediness, something Kitra could, unfortunately, relate to. "You should wake up, Princess." Avara told her with a half smile. "I caught the prey, she's chained up in the dungeons now." Well, that was something, wasn't it? It was enough to wake Kitra up, at least. "I'll get my revenge. And I'll take all of Heaven as my own territory." It was her ultimate goal, one from which Kitra would absolutely not waver.

Breakfast was there, Lilim was already touching her chest a bit ruefully, while Cambion was, oddly, not asleep at all, but he was already there. Each one's respective servants were likely off doing servanty things. "Morning, sis!" Lil said sweetly, which was an odd thing to say when one was playing with their chest. "Luxura says if I keep touching them they'll get bigger!" Kitra groaned tiredly. She really did have a troublesome sister, didn't she? "It's a lie, you idiot." The Demon Queen growled. Plus, Lilim was two years her junior, and yet already bigger where it mattered most? How irritating.

Leaving Avara to her breakfast, Kitra made her way to the dungeons. She didn't want to eat, she didn't have time for that. The Demon Queen had one goal, and one goal alone. She had to pull the truth out of the damn princess's teeth, even if it meant hurting her. Cambion, oddly enough, followed her, with weird expression on his face. And so Kitra and her least favorite brother entered Princess Celeste's cell, already chained up and awake.

"The Underworld, honey." Kitra said viciously, ignoring her lazy brother for the time being. "You're an angel and you still don't know that? Where else would someone nail your wing to the freaking wall?" She was trying to copy her favorite sibling's speaking methods, trying to act more like how Furfur did when they tortured that angel for information. "I'm the Demon Queen, Kitra. Newly coronated." Already she was imagining ways to beat the truth out so she could save her parents already.

As a way to start the day, Kitra jammed the edge of her lightning spear down right in the middle of one of the princess's feet. "I was famous for this lightning spear, y'know? Killed a lot of you angels with it." Kitra grinned but then Cambion pulled her back, alarmed. "What are you doing? You could at least ask her your questions first." The Demon Queen snarled angrily at her big brother. He had no determination at all, did he? He didn't understand how important this mission was at all. Ignorant. Foolish. Lazy. "Shut up, you gave me this crown, you don't have the right to boss me around." So then she squeezed the spear and a spark of lightning ran through the princess's body.

Kitra grinned widely, trying to enjoy this. "So tell me, where the hell are my parents? You guys kidnapped them, didn't you?" She channeled more of her demonic power through the spear, sending more electricity into this damn angel. "Every time you don't answer my question, you'll get another shock." For all the pain and misery Kitra suffered, she was definitely going to enjoy paying some of it back.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#F6A8B6 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #BDA0CB

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Her head throbbed with the intensity of the sun, her mouth was dry as though she had just swallowed sawdust. Celeste was certain this was a dream, her torn nightgown, the blood stains, all of it had to be fake. This was probably just some silly nightmare, or her parents trying to teach her a lesson for trying to be so reckless as to go to town for something as frivolous as an art show. She was a Princess after all, she couldn't be selfish. Mizuki would rescue her, or one of her brothers, Raphie, Gabe, Michi, one of them was bound to come running in through that door. They would unpin her wing, take her into their arms and call her brave, say that she wasn't useless, tell her that everything would be alright. The heavy metal door opened and clanged shut, someone came in, not anyone with wings, but large fangs and horns. Celeste recoiled in fear, clinging to the hope that this could still somehow be Heaven.

Celeste felt her breathing become more rapid, the ensuing panic like a flood that instantly engulfed her. She was terrified of this place, of this dungeon. Her body shook, her wings trembled. Pain tore through her every time she tried to shift and her arms were numb. Her family would be in a flurry of panic, surely they would come to find her, save her from this place. Even as a joke or a lesson, they would have never pinned her wing to the wall like some sort of animal or worse, a fallen. There was a rare ailment they considered a disease, when an angel became a demon and thus had fallen. It was very uncommon, most angels would prefer to die then to ever become fallen. It is said to be a deranged mental disease and thus those who do not escape her locked away where they can never hurt anyone. She wasn't one of them though, her wings were still a pure, sparkling white, albeit covered in flecks of blood.

Her feathers ruffled from the cold, someone, two someones really, stepped into the dungeon. Celeste looked up, her heart hammering in her chest. Her question was very quickly answered, although by now Celeste could have come to her own conclusion. "I was hoping this was all some sort of twisted dream," Celeste murmured, although it came out more like a whimper. She introduced herself as the newly coronated demon Queen, Kitra. "I am Princess Celeste Angeal and you'd better return me to the palace this instant lest you want to incur the wrath of the Angel court-" a scream wretched from her lips as a spear was wedged into her foot. Celeste felt nauseous, terrible pain wrought through her body, making her lurch forward and tearing at her wing. Her counterpart seemed startled, his eyes widened and he cried out in shock.

Electricity suddenly coursed through her body. Celeste cried out in pain, blood spattering from her lips. She spluttered in pain and agony, trying to keep from crying. Her legs shook and she felt a wetness between them. "I-I'll never tell." She whimpered pathetically, her cheeks heating in shame. This was her chance to do right by her title, her chance to finally show her family that she wasn't someone who needed to be protected all of the time, even if she had no idea what the demon Queen was talking about. Kidnapped her parents? Everyone knew the story of how the negotiations went sour when the demons attempted to attack Queen Callisto and King Zadkiel, it was because of the demons that they couldn't have any peace.

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Oh, this was just absolutely precious. The angel princess looked so miserable and afraid, like a criminal knowing he was about to be charged for his crimes with no hope of escape. Those huge doe-eyes, the way she quivered while chained up, it was delectable in a way Kitra could understand very well. This was the beginning of divine justice, wasn't it? This was the start to putting her family back together. Laying her parents to rest... freeing them from the endless torment of being mindless beasts. It was Kitra's duty as the new Demon Queen to see that mission done. "Oh, don't worry! This is nothing quite as pleasant as a dream." The lightning spear would happily prove that fact, even if her coward brother Cambion was against this sort of thing. She was the Demon Queen! He no longer had the right to stop her.

Kitra was famed for her skill with the spear, not to mention her own power, something akin to electricity. Paired with the spear, it was a deadly weapon, even rubber didn't stand a chance as long as she could stab through the rubber with the tip of the weapon. "Honey, we're at war, I'm not afraid of incurring the wrath of the Angel Court." Kitra sneered cheerfully, stretching her arms, fixating a glare at her sworn enemy. "If anything, it's your family who should be worried. If I could so easily grab you from Heaven, I wonder how many of your precious siblings I could bring here?" It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Force this Celeste to lose her siblings before her eyes, to face the pain Kitra herself felt when she had to put down Zepar, Buer, and Furfur. It was only justice, wasn't it?

After a jolt of electricity, it seemed Celeste was going to try to resist, wasn't she? But her rebellion was nothing but pathetic. "Filthy scum like you don't deserve clothes anyways." With a swipe of a claw, the nightgown was torn off of Princess Celeste's body, giving her nothing to hide behind. "Filthy scum gets to bathe in her dirt." For added fun, she gathered up some of the yellow liquid that spilled from Celeste's legs into a cup, pouring it onto the princess. "I'll be back later, dog. Maybe then you'll tell me how to save my parents."

Cambion looked nothing less than disapproving. "You're going overboard." He protested as Kitra left the cell with him following, after forcefully yanking the spear out of Celeste's foot. "All this for our parents. Father was a warmonger, and mother was no better." Kitra scowled, okay, she was getting tired of this. So the Demon Queen swirled her spear and stopped the blade right at her big brother's throat. "I will save them." She hissed furiously. "Then they'll be proud of me. I'll show them how to win a war." Not even Cambion understood at all, huh?

After they left, a certain other royal demon snuck into the cell, wearing a mischievous little smile, wings fluttering behind her with each step. Lilim was smarter than she looked after all, she wasn't just a naive child. And there she was, the rumored Angel Princess, already with a wound in her foot, and smelling awful, too! "My name is Lilim! I'm the youngest Demon Princess!" Lilim said happily, smiling at Celeste in chains. "I don't really care about you, but big sis never lets me practice my powers. I wanna be stronger to be able to support her."

So Lilim closed her eyes and touched a bit of non-dirtied skin on the angel, healing the wounds and absorbing the pain into herself, whimpering as it was worse than she expected. Lilim was still smiling though, even if it hurt. "Okay, a little bit stronger, that's good! Um, I can't make you grow a new wing though..." The demon princess decided to sit in a clean corner of the cell, her foot hurt too much to walk for the time being, and she couldn't fly with one wing feeling like it was torn off.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#F6A8B6 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #BDA0CB

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Her body buzzed from the electrical charge, feeling as though her fluffy white hair was standing on ends. No, this was not a dream, nor a nightmare, this was much, much worse. Why did this girl think that anyone like Celeste would have the information she needed? If Kitra was smart, she would have gone for one of her older brothers, although no doubt it would have been impossible to capture them and that was why she had settled for little, weak, Celeste. She hissed in pain, blood dripping down the spear and onto the floor, her foot looked horrid, Celeste couldn't bear to take a second glance at the gaping hole. Her foot twitched, making the pain even worse.

"You can't catch them, that's why you took me isn't it?" Her lips twisted up into a grown. "Because you knew that you could never take any of them captive and live to tell the tale." Raphie, Gabe, Michi, even Mizuki, they were all so strong, far too strong for this Kitra to ever touch. Another jolt of electricity coursed through her, she had said the wrong things again, hadn't she? Celeste panted, leaning forward. Her wing was tearing from her body, hanging on by just a thread. She would never be able to fly again would she? Celeste didn't know if wings grew back, she had never bothered to ask. The only liberation she had, the one thing that had made her feel free and now, one tiny little fissure and it would be gone again.

"Don't take them from me," Celeste panted. She didn't mean her siblings though, she was speaking about her wings. Kitra grabbed her nightgown, ripping it off so that Celeste was fully exposed. She cursed herself for wearing nothing underneath as well as her servant dressing her in her most luxurious nightgown. To make it worse, Kitra scooped up the yellow liquid flowing beneath her legs and dumped it right on her hair, turning the angelic white strands into a yellow mess. Burn marks stained her otherwise unblemished body, marring the beautiful ivory skin, a delicate white canvas that had never endured any such pain aside from a small scratch from the first initial kidnapping attempt nearly two years ago. "I'm not a dog," she whispered, shame burning in her chest. "I won't tell you anything," Kitra could try all she wanted, but Celeste really had no knowledge on where the former demon rulers could possibly be.

She had no skills for war or strategy, no handiness with a weapon. She wasn't light on her feet or swift and graceful, she was clumsy and an airhead at times, tripping over her own feet and forget about holding a sword, with her coordination, Celeste was more likely to stab herself than an enemy. They were gone now, their footsteps echoing down the hall. "Because I don't know anything," her body was racked with a sob, grievance for her torn wings, her mangled foot, she would proably never be able to walk or fly again. She would never be beautiful, not with these burn marks like lightning bolts stemming from where she had been stabbed. What did it matter? "I'm going to die down here aren't I?" Celeste cried, "Mother, Father, I'm scared."

The door opened once more, Celeste sniffled, looking up miserably. "Come back for more?" She croaked, a lopsided grin adorning her mouth. "I can do this all day," a lie of course, but it wasn't Kitra, instead, a pink haired girl with a lofty chest bound inside instead, introducing herself as Lillim. Celeste attempted to straighten her shoulders, to hold herself higher, but every inch felt like agony. "I-I'm the Princess Cel-Celeste," she stuttered, her nerves getting the better of her. "So that's it then? I've been reduced to your family's dog?" She laughed, a humorless, sad sort of sound. What was this demon's power? Did she shoot lasers out of her eyes, perhaps she could control her blood and use Celeste as some sort of sick puppet.

"N-no, d-don't t-t-touch it!" Celeste cried, agony shooting through her body at the slightest touch. Slowly, gently, it began to ebb away, the wound healing, leaving nothing but a bloodstain. Celeste whimpered and gasped, at least that was one pain gone. "Why did you do that?" She asked incredulously. Lillim claimed that she couldn't fix her wing, but at least some of the pain was gone. "It doesn't matter, I'm going to die down here anyways." Celeste would probably never see the sun, or know the warmth of outside air. How much longer would Queen Kitra keep her here before killing her? Throw her to actual dogs or maybe drown her in a river and hang her naked body in the town square?

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Lilim was doing her best not to shiver. This was all dumb Kit's fault anyways, if Kit let her practice it more than Lilim would already be used to pain so she could use her powers better! Then maybe she'd be allowed to help in the war, too! It was frustrating and Lilim felt weak, because she couldn't fight or anything. "Celeste is a nice name." Lilim commented, rocking in the corner, trying to distract herself from the hurt. She didn't really care much about Celeste, but it'd be nice to be able to talk to a girl that wasn't her sister or a servant. "My big sister, Furfur, she always called people dogs!" Lilim grinned, thinking back on her fiery sister. "Did Kit call you that? She was probably trying to act more like Fur!" There was a brief awkward pause. "She's dead. Hey, do you have dead siblings? I lost four, and it wasn't very fun or anything."

Okay, maybe this wasn't a very good topic of discussion. Lilim decided to change it to something different, calling her servant's name, a demon from the Lust Tribe, Luxura. "Here, feed her my breakfast. Kit will get suspicious if I don't finish it, but I need to keep dieting so I'm pretty enough to make babies and get my siblings back!" Luxura nodded with a wry grin. "Of course, Princess." And then food was given to Celeste. Lilim wiggled a little. "I hope she doesn't kill you." The youngest demon princess said quietly. "If you died, then I can't practice my power on you more." Once the pain was managable she stood up again. "I'll come back later, don't tell, okay?" With a wink, the pink haired demon left, presumably to play in her room.

When Kitra returned to her prey, she brought a little something with her. She used some ancient magic to summon memory smoke that could be played for others to see, but only temporarily. "I'm back, you filthy dog." This time there was no Cambion, he decided he was going to try and take a nap and asked her to at least give her a break for the time being. She had to meet with one of the surviving generals of the Demon Army, a certain Minerva Inferi, from the Wrath Tribe. Minerva was handling the front lines for now, but she said the fighting would go better with the new Demon Queen fighting alongside them. Soon, eventually.

"I picked you because you're the smallest and cutest." Kitra explained with a crooked smirk, holding the smoke in her clenched fist. The spear was slung casually onto her back, but it was awkwardly taller than her so it didn't look cool like it did for Furfur with the Volcano Sword. "Even if you don't have information, the youngest sibling makes a good hostage." Kitra remembered how the angels used this tactic before. "You angels kidnapped my little sister and brother and tricked my parents into a trap. Cowardly. Disgusting." The Demon Queen would absolutely never forgive the angels.

So then she released the memory smoke, showing the chained angel princess a nice first person view of one of the angel royal guards being tortured to death, dragging out as much information as possible before his last breaths. Furfur took the lead, of course, but Kitra helped quite a bit. "He's the one that told us my parents were captured, y'know? So don't try to lie your way out of this, dog. Or should I say, Celty?" Well then, it was time to start the fun again, wasn't it? But then her eyes widened at the healed wound on the foot. What was this? "Was a pink haired demon here?" Kitra asked tensely. "Or is healing just your power, huh?"

Whatever the case, she wanted to vent some of her frustrations. This was the first step. Even if Celeste really didn't have any information for her, she would still make an excellent bartering piece. "Well, if you can heal, there's no harm in going deeper, right?" So this time she jabbed the spear into Celeste's belly with an expert twirl, stabbing it all the way through, but away from any vital points. And no stab was complete without her electricity to seal the deal. "So, dog, did that jolt your memory yet?" The Demon Queen asked with a vicious grin after letting loose another burst of her power.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

She really was useless, her status had no meaning here, being an Angel Princess was the equivalent of a pack-mule, unless demons treated all of their guests to such... unusual hospitality. Something told Celeste that it was only those who bore the light name. It wasn't as though she chose this position, it was one she was born into. As such, she couldn't let her family down, she had to show them that she could do this, so that when they came and rescued her, it wouldn't all be for nothing. Even with the pain, even though she didn't matter, she was just a pawn for their amusement, Lillim called her name pretty. It was such an unusual gesture that Celeste bit back tears once more. "I was named for the Celestial Bodies that protect the One God." Everyone knew, of course, who the One God one and who the Celestial Bodies were, it was basic knowledge that even babies were taught.

The One God was the almighty ruler, the one who oversaw Heaven, Obsidian; which was the human realm, and Hell. The Celestial Bodies were also known as the Zodiac Warriors, angels and demons bred to be the finest and given the titles of the twelve Zodiac. "I like Lillim," Celeste coughed again, her lungs feeling jittery from her electricity bath. "It sounds like the lily flowers," she had a gentle smile, even though Lillim acted young, she certainly was well endowed. There was no doubt in Celeste's mind that many would be asking for the young princess's hand and not just because she was a princess. "Your gift is wonderful, to be able to take people's pai-" another cough that stopped her mid-sentence.

"Furfur...?" Celeste tilted her head to the side in question. By now her arms were numb and she was being cautiously still in order to preserve what remained of her wing. Angels healed quickly, naturally, demons did too, but still, a wound like this could take weeks to mend. "No," her voice quivered, "My siblings are all still alive." Celeste sniffled, "They'll come rescue me, just wait, they'll be here and then I'll tell them about the nice girl that helped me." She hoped that would at least incline Lillim to remain kind. "If I lose my wing... It would be no different than death." Having one wing was no good, even now, Celeste could see the exposed tendon and muscle, the tear quite large. If she didn't lose it, there was still the risk of the open wound contracting an infection.

Perhaps Queen Kitra pouring bodily fluid over her had been a blessing. A servant was called, Lillim ordered her handmaid to feed Celeste the rest of her breakfast. Tears dabbed at the corners of her eyes once more, "thank you," it was a small mercy, she wolfed down the rest of the breakfast hungrily, a little bit mortified that all of these people were seeing her so exposed, her nightgown torn beneath her as though it was some sort of tease, the soft silk stained yellow from catching the warm liquid. "I won't tell a soul," Celeste promised, the taste of sweet, acidic juice waking her up. There was nothing quite like orange juice to give your mind a push. Lillim and her servant left and Celeste was alone, in the deep dark dungeon.

She wasn't on her own for long, it seemed that Celeste had a visitor. "I'm not a dog," she said through grit teeth, holding her head high. "I am a Princess," even without the heavenly aura, she still radiated light and purity, refusing to return the jab with any slander. Angels had reputations to live by after all and there was no way Celeste would stoop to the level of this beast. There was something in Queen Kitra's hand, it looked like smoke that had curled around her fist. Celeste hesitated, wondering what it could be and figuring it was probably nothing good. No doubt Kitra would explain it in a moment so there was no need to ask, it would probably engulf her mind and stain her heart with darkness.

"I have no knowledge of your siblings being in heavenly territory." Celeste replied, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. She would make a good hostage? For some reason, Celeste's cheeks flushed red at the mention of her being small and cute; it had always been a compliment, never thrown back at her like an insult. "At least I'm not manly and brutish," she said with a small smirk, wondering if she'd won this round. Her ability to shape shift wasn't working, Celeste wondered if for a moment these dungeons were built to absorb angel powers and weak them. It made sense, strategically; Celeste wasn't sure how the prisons back home worked since she had never had the pleasure of being inside of one or behind bars. "We did no such thing! I won't have you badmouth my people!" There was no trap or trick, "Your parents are the one that struck first, they nearly killed mine!" If it hadn't been for her parent's quick wit and bravery, no doubt they wouldn't be alive.

Okay, maybe Celeste was a bit biased in her opinion, but she believed everything about her family to be good and true. There was no way they would senselessly kill anyone. The smoke began to unfurl and curl around her, Celeste panicked, jerking slightly and mewling pathetically in pain. Her eyes widened as she watched the scene unfold, the torturing of an angel knight for information. "You heartless murderer!" She screamed, her face contorting in pain once more. "You killed an innocent man, someone who had a family to go to, who had bills to pay and mouths to feed and now his children will starve." If she could feel her fingers they would be curled into a fist. She killed that soldier in cold blood. "There was no pink haired demon Kit," Celeste's lips curled into a smile, she could play at nicknames too.

The smile was quickly replaced by a scream of agony as the staff was sent through her stomach. Electricity coursed down her spine and for a moment, Celeste's eyes rolled up into her head, the pain enough to overwhelm her. Her body began to shake and it was hard to breathe. A few seconds later, she came back, panting and gasping for air. "S-stop this madness, it's not too late. Return me to my home."

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Demon Queen and Angel Princess faced one another, seemingly forever opposed. There was no kindness here, there was only unresolved pain from the war that scorched both Hell and Heaven. Kitra rather enjoyed referring to her as a dog, it suited the mongrel of a princess she was. All of this pent up anger and misery from losing most of her family would be answered by this girl who was far too small. "Oh, that's a fun game. So if I claimed to be human, does that make it true?" She laughed, harsh and cold, a cruel tinny sound echoing through, staring Celeste down as best as she could. "Your title of princess holds no power here, Celty, so don't bother. You're just a toy for me to play with now." That was the undeniable truth that Celeste couldn't deny. "I don't fear any angel court either. Let them come, I'll strike them all down."

Still, Celeste was insisting that she had no idea about anything. She didn't even know how the previous war ended, did she? She didn't know the crimes the angels committed to force the demons into losing their sovereigns, did she? "You're so ignorant. I bet you just sit in your room and don't even bother learning the truth with your own ears, huh?" This princess probably never saw a day of hardship in her life, did she? A sheltered little brat that had no idea about anything. "I was there, Celty. I was with my big siblings and my parents, marching on Heaven's Gates in that battle." She could still hear the echo of the Demon Army's advance, the throngs of battle.

Her whole body seemed to go rigid, as if the memory was painful. "I remember some royal angel guy, maybe one of the princes, he showed up at the gate with my kid siblings, Lilim and Buer, told us to stop or he'd slit their throats. So we listened, we surrendered, and then Mother and Father went to the meeting and we never saw them again!" It hurt to even think about. Rage and misery was coiling up in the closed up heart of the current Demon Queen, her usual striking hatred wasn't in her eyes, just a deep sorrow. "But you, in your fancy palace, you never had to worry about any of that, huh? So if fighting makes me manly and brutish, fine! I don't need to be a woman! As long as I have the strength to protect what's left of my family, I don't care about anything else!"

But Celeste still wasn't listening at all, she was refusing to accept the truth. Kitra grit her teeth. "The Demon Army never relied on tricks like that to win. We used our strength, our honest and pure strength, to fight." That was how demons were. Angels, with their tricky words and treaties and meetings, they didn't respect strength, they just quibbled with one another with fancy speech and parties. When this stupid angel princess insisted that she killed an innocent man, Kitra sent another surge of electricity into the princess. "Did you not listen? He admitted to the crime, he told us that our parents were taken captive as monsters!" Fury was blazing in her amber eyes. "And you dare to call him innocent. How naive can you be, dog?" Well, Kitra would shatter that innocence as best as she-

Kit? Memories of Furfur rippled through her mind. No, only Furfur was allowed to call her that, and she was dead now. She tore the spear out and aimed it right at where the wing attached to the rest of the body. "Careful with what you call me, or I'll cut off this one too." Kitra hissed, and then did another fancy spin to pull the spear back, heating it up with electricity and then jabbing it into the belly wound to cauterize it and stop the bleeding. Of course, her own hands were scorched now, but the Demon Queen hardly noticed. "I have a mission. I will save my family, and I need you here for that to happen."

A voice, someone entered. Kitra didn't expect an interruption, but one of the Demon Soldiers was here, a captain who served her father. "Well, what do we have here, an angel princess for the takings, huh?" Captain Forneus, a strong and powerful captain. "That's right. She'll be the perfect bait." The Demon Queen regained her composure, back to being cold and in control. "What do you want, Forneus?" The Captain grinned at her, and then eyed the princess. "Y'know, if you want to torture a sheltered princess, why not give her to me? I could teach her things only a man can teach." There was a gleam in his eyes. "Your father would say yes. It's the best way to break her."

In a split second, Kitra made one movement and Forneus lost both of his arms. "You made a mistake here, Forneus. I am not my father." Kitra would rule differently, she would show them victory. She'd surpass her father in every sense of the word. "And the Demon Army fights with honor. There's a line, and you just crossed it. Die." She then sent the spear through Forneus's throat, and then there was a burst of energy. He was shifting, changing, turning into a giant minotaur-like beast, roaring mindlessly. Kitra did a twirl and jumped up and stabbed the spear into the monster's chest, unleashing a surge of electricity until finally, what remained of Forneus became nothing but a black vapor. "Go now, to a new body, and become a better demon."

Kitra sighed, then turned back to her captive. "I should send word to your brothers and tell them how you're doing. They'll come right here, won't they?" A wicked grin was spreading, as if the Forneus incident hadn't even fazed her in the least.

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Celeste grit her teeth, being demeaned like this, it was so degrading and shameful. She wanted to fight back, but she had no idea how. Celeste was not her Mother, she was not the most beautiful and fearsome warrior the angels had ever seen. She was not her Father, the man who had vaporized an entire army in one stroke. Celeste didn't have crazy power or anything of the sort, she just had... well... herself. That's right, there was still something she could do, she could protect her family's secrets, not that she knew any of them. Fighting was not something that the Princess did, unless it was yelling at her siblings in a teasing tone for bugging her. They knew better than to stop the Princess mid work. She was an artist of course, she needed to focus on her art and in this case, it was making it through without a crack. Her body may be battered, she may have been humiliated, but she still had that much.

"You don't know what it's like," Celeste spoke through grit teeth. "Day after day, sitting in a locked room, in a closed off house, you don't know the madness at being treated like a glass doll." She was made to believe that she was fragile and delicate, porcelain skin and glassy eyes. One little crack and her entire facade could break. "I was a prisoner in my own home, my only solace was flying and now... you've taken even that from me." She stiffened, if she moved around anymore, it would tear completely from her body. There was still a shred of hope and she clung to it. "You may as well kill me," a whisper. Celeste would not admit defeated, but that didn't mean she couldn't make a suggestion. "My wings were all I had left, they're an angels pride and joy." Celeste choked back another sob. "You've already taken one."

Her pride was in tatter's, being viewed upon so shamelessly, her naked body bared for anyone to walk in and see. "Your parents were murderers, they tried to kill mine, they turned into monsters and began tearing the treaty hall apart." It wasn't Celeste's fault that this demon couldn't see reason. Even with this spear jabbed in her stomach, Celeste would power on. She had to make it until they came, they would rescue her and she'd fly home-er-be carried really since Celeste wouldn't be able to fly for a long while. She'd be a prisoner again, unable to leave the gates that were always guarded, unable to leave the watchful eye of her handmaid or lady in waiting. "We don't use tricks, angels don't lie and cheat." At least, not any angel's that Celeste knew. "If your parents were locked away, not that I'm inferring that they are, then it would be for the safety and benefit of both kingdoms!" A gasp left her mouth as the staff because burning hot, sealing the wound shut by melting the skin. Celeste whimpered, biting down on her lip to keep from crying out.

Her parents only reacted within the best interest of the people after all, they were noble and good, just and right, not angry and well, demonic. "I'm not a dog Kit. You have no right to call me Celty, you're no loved one of mine." She spat in the demon Queen's face. "Fine, you can keep me, but I won't tell you anything." She leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes, a jolt of electricity running through her. It ran through her body, making her hair stand on ends and her teeth chatter as though she were in a tundra and not a dungeon. The door creaked open, a man appearing with a smug grin. His eyes leered at her in that way only men could and once more Celeste shivered. The perfect bait was what Kitra called her, "If you demons are so noble as to not use tricks, then how come you've taken me? Isn't holding a hostage a trick?" She laughed humorlessly, they weren't listening of course.

She stiffened as the man made his suggestion. Her purity was essential, the only person an angel could break it with was their intended one. If that happened then Celeste would be impure and thus, unable to be wed. No one would want a used bride, not even if she was a princess. "D-don't," she stuttered, butterflies fluttering in her stomach. "Come n-near me!" Her eyes were widened in fear as the man spoke animatedly about giving her a lesson that only a man could teach her. Queen Kitra seemed to darken and lunged, killing the man, then again in his demon form. She told him to become a better demon, but Celeste wasn't certain such a thing as a good demon existed. "They'll come retrieve me, you won't be able to win in a fight against them though." She smiled, finally feeling confident. "They're the competitors for the next Zodiac title after all."

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Kitra couldn't help but scoff at the silly sheltered princess when she more or less proved what she suspected the whole time. "So you really don't know anything except for the lies they tell you, huh?" The Demon Queen shook her head ruefully, this was getting pathetic.She was a glass doll, she was protected, she was spoiled beyond sanity. "Looks like you've got some bitterness too, don'tcha?" Kitra grinned, like a wolf circling her prey. "I'll show you everything your family's been hiding from you, all the deep dark secrets you'll wish you never knew." There were lots of things about angels this princess was gonna have to learn. She really had no idea how any of this really worked, all Celeste knew was the lies she was fed.

There was one secret Kitra could divulge that the silly princess probably had no idea about. "Hey, you seem to hate demons so much, but did you know? One of my big sisters was once slated to marry your big brother, Michael." Kitra, of course, knew all about how that went down. "They were in love during my brother, Ronove's rule, and after he died, Zepar and Michael were supposed to be able to bring peace. She was even bearing his child." That's right. Things could have ended peacefully, happily. But there was always something to ruin it, and said something was the angels. "But then something ruined the happy ending."

Kitra bitterly remembered those days. Everyone thought they were finally going to get peace, to get to stop fighting, but then she and Furfur realized something was wrong, realized the angels were tricking them. "But then we discovered the lie. You angels were holding our parents captive. So big sis couldn't forgive that, you see, so she declared war... but she cried every night the war went on." Those were dark times, Zepar spent all her time crying, mourning the lost love, mourning the child that'd grow without a father, mourning the chance for a happy ending. "She didn't want it, you know? But Zepar had no choice, because the angels betrayed our trust." Kit spat, lowering her eyes to the ground. "It was silly to trust in the first place." Pathetic. Shameful. She wouldn't make the same mistake.

But then the idiot called her Kit again. The Demon Queen sighed, shaking her head. "I did warn you." She then sliced through the remaining wing, and then she shrugged. "You're more valuable to me alive then dead, don't worry." No matter how Celeste begged, Kitra wouldn't give her salvation through death. Then Forneus went and died idiotically, and Kitra called her servant, a Greed Tribe demon, Avara, with a cloak, wrapping it around Celeste's body. "I'd rather not have to kill more of my soldiers, so count yourself lucky, dog." And the princess now got to keep some of her dignity, how charming. "There's no trick involved, you know. I kidnapped you, and I'm going to honestly tell your siblings where to get you back. It's rather simple, actually.." She grinned angrily. "I never lied once to you this whole time, unlike you." And that much was true, not that Celty would bother believing her. She pointed her spear right at Celeste's special spot. "If demons really were as bad as you thought, wouldn't I have just let him do what he wanted with your body?" Kitra grinned, bearing her fangs. Demons had honor, angels were tricksters. That's how it always was.

Competitors for the next Zodiac title, in order to protect and serve the One God. Kitra laughed ruefully about that. "Zodiacs.... right. You know, my father, I believe he was Capricorn before he was abducted." Demons could be Zodiacs too, of course. Time to open the princess's mind a little more. "My big brother, Ronove, was competing for Aries before he died, and Furfur was well on the way to earning her title as Taurus." Kitra focused her energy after taking a deep breath, and then a symbol temporarily appeared on her forehead. "And as you can see, I'm in the running for Scorpio." She already killed a fellow competitor, though, admittedly, she wasn't the strongest of the Scorpio-eligible people out there. "Us demons aren't as weak as you think, you know."

"In any case, it's clear you don't know anything, so your purpose now will be to act as bait" She wasn't afraid of the angels, she knew what they were capable of. And Kitra would use the strength of her fallen siblings to power her and be strong enough to win, even if she had to stand alone. "Maybe you'll get to watch your beloved siblings die the way I had to." That sounded very nice indeed, didn't it? "I'll call Lilim to bathe you, but you'll still be chained, so don't bother trying to escape." And so the Demon Queen turned to leave, the next ten steps already forming in her head.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#F6A8B6 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #BDA0CB

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Celeste laughed, a humorless sound. It was more of a frightened laugh really, a hesitant chuckle. "My parents don't trust me to be in a room by myself, do you think they would ever trust me with family secrets?" In truth, it hurt knowing that her parents sheltered her so much that they didn't burden her with the knowledge of the faults in their kingdom. No one was perfect, but Celeste was raised to believe that the angels were ultimate good and the demons ultimate evil. It was only natural for light to represent all of the good in the world and darkness all the bad, simple logic that even a toddling human could figure out. She jerked against the chains, there were bruises and scratches forming on the delicate skin around her wrists, an unusual color that mixed oddly well with her skin tone.

"Of course I know of Michael and Zepar's love," her tone was quiet, introspective. "Then she betrayed him and got both herself and the child she was bearing killed." Michi had been quite down after that, he had, had trouble sleeping or eating and would spend most days curled up in a certain spot in the garden, clinging to a picture of his lost love. This girl, this Kitra, she didn't know of the love her brother had for Zepar, she didn't see the way he looked at her, as though he were seeing her for the very first time. There was no lust, no, only love. Love was something that no one could push onto you, it happened naturally like falling asleep, slowly at first, then all at once. "He loved her with all his heart." It probably came as no surprise to this demon that angels were capable of love.

"You're lying, my parents would never do such a thing!" Her parents were honest and good, they ruled with noble intentions. "Unlike you who would stoop down so low as to take a hostage." She was already here and damaged, there was no going back now. "I guess it's true, there is no honor among thieves." Celeste closed her eyes, no doubt her siblings would be here any minute to rescue her, then Kitra would really be sorry. She had messed with the wrong family, that was for sure. "Angels don't lie and I never lied to you, I told you I wouldn't tell you and I didn't tell you because I don't know." Just because she couldn't tell a lie didn't mean she couldn't twist the truth.

Her wing, her precious wing, was sliced from her body. A whimper, then the pain hit, and a scream of agony. She coughed blood from her lips and would have doubled over if her arms were not chained above her. Clumps of bloodied feathers fell to the floor as the wing disintegrated into nothing, turning into light that retreated into Celeste's body. "You... you..." there were no words Celeste could use, what Kitra had done was beyond cruel. She may has well have cut off her arm or a leg, that was the equivalent. It was hypocritical considering Celeste had requested Kitra not call her Celty and the Queen had continued to use her beloved nickname in such a mocking manner. A cloak was wrapped around her body, Celeste flinched away from Kitra's touch, feeling blood soak into it. Her head felt light and the room was spinning, attempting to digest this new information. A wingless bird was as good as dead, Celeste was no different now from a pitiable creature one would normally grace with death.

Tears spilled over her eyes, looking at the remaining feathers that were spread beneath her like a halo. She had stopped listening to what Kitra was saying, her tears rolling down her cheeks. Celeste's mother and father were zodiac warriors too, of course. Libra and Leo, who had been good friends with Kitra's mother. Now look at the path they had ventured down, Celeste was being demeaned to the status of an animal while their daughter led a tirade in the name of finding her parents who were long dead. Celeste stared at her feet, still attempting to process what had happened. "You monster," she choked. "You think you're nice because you didn't let a man rape me? That's called decency! It's what people do. Senselessly hurting others, trying to cause a war, it's reasons like this I could never trust a filthy demon!"

She was talking to an empty room though, Kitra was already gone. Celeste shivered, even if it wasn't Kitra's intention to kill her, the slicing of her wing had included a large vein and blood was pooling beneath her. The angel felt dizzy and nauseous, she probably wouldn't last much longer. Her eyelids fluttered shut and it was growing hard to think. Celeste could feel blood snaking down her spine, dripping down her leg and soaking into the black cloak. She really was going to die down here wasn't she? Then she would never see her siblings again, even if she didn't die, she was a one winged freak now, her family would be embarrassed and ashamed, she would be the laughing stock of Eden. The weakest link, it was only appropriate to be broken like this, wasn't it?

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Kitra couldn't let herself lose control. As long as she remained calm and cool, it'd be fine. She wasn't some uncouth raging beast, she was the Demon Queen. She had a goal that she had to accomplish, and she had to make sure she could achieve it. The topic went onto Michael and Zepar, and it was infuriating listening to this girl badmouth her precious big sister. Zepar might have done questionable things, but she knew for sure that Zepar wasn't a bad person. She had her reasons, and Kitra could empathize. How many times did Zepar try to prove she was worthy of being the heir, only to be shot down by Father, because she was a woman, because she was younger than Ronove, because no matter what she did, she could never be no par with Ronove. And then when Ronove was chosen to be allowed to try being Aries, and not long after, Furfur was offered the position of Taurus.... And then she was betrayed by her own lover, he was harboring their parents this whole time...

"I won't let you speak ill of my fallen sibling." Kitra muttered, wanting nothing more than to tear this idiotic angel apart with her own bare hands. She held back, though, Celty was more useful alive than dead. "Zepar wanted nothing more than to trust him, but when she found out your family stole our parents, she couldn't forgive that. Don't you know how hard it was for her? And you speak of her like that?" It was unforgivable. It was disgusting. "You never lost siblings before, have you? You never watched as the people you loved were taken away from you one by one, huh?" Of course not. "Your family's still completely intact, aren't they?" Cold anger was seeping through the Demon Queen as she stare down her hated enemy. "So don't think you know what suffering is yet."

She was still bristling furiously when she came across Lilim who was laying flat on the ground, touching herself in her special spot. She didn't even seem to care she was caught in the middle of something so humiliating. "Hullo!" Lilim said cheerfully, as if nothing was wrong at all. "Stop being an idiot, I need you to tend to the prisoner." Her little sister pulled her skirt down and slowly sat herself up, tilting her head with a frown. "Aww, but I'm trying to practice so when a man comes, I can seduce him..." It still bothered Kitra to no end how obsessed Lilim was with trying to rebirth their siblings. She was way too young for these sorts of things, wasn't she? "Bathe her and heal her up, but don't overdo it. I don't want you hurting more than you have to."

Lilim bounded down the hall, if this was what her big sis wanted, then it was what she'd do. She wanted to support Kitra and help her, even though she thought that she was going down a scary and dangerous path. Right now the Demon Army was in shambles, they lost a lot of their leaders in the span of a few months - while they had numbers greater than the Angels did, the Angels still had their royal family intact. Kitra was a genius, so what was she thinking with this? Lilim made her way back to Celeste, giving a bit of a wave, not flinching away from the new blood and wounds all over. "She really worked you over..." Lilim unhooked the chains but kept the cuffs on the ankles, not that Celeste could really escape if she tried. "Um, hang on, I'll take you to the baths and then take it away, okay?" She couldn't do it now, because then she'd collapse uselessly.

So with effort, Lilim brought the angel princess to her own private bath, away from any prying eyes. There was lots of blood, but she could tell Luxura to take care of it. So, after preparing a bath in her pink-colored room, Lilim pressed her hands to each of the wounded areas. She couldn't make the wing come back, but she could close the wounds and take the pain. "Some nice practice, just for me!" Lilim giggled a little, absorbing as much pain as she could, letting out a weak sound, a mix of a whimper and a cry. It hurt, it hurt all over, it was horrible, but she could do it. The wounds closed up for now, too. "I'll practice more and learn how to give your wings back, too! They were really pretty!" The feisty demon twitched her own black leathery wings sadly. "I can't imagine what it's like to lose one!"

Once they were both lowered into the bath, naked and all, Lilim sighed. "I don't like what big sis is doing." She said quietly, knowing Celeste wasn't really going to be the one to snitch on her. "I know she's sad about our family being ripped up, but this isn't going to fix anything." Lilim giggled and pointed to her own body, her womb, her feminine assets. "I'll do it, though. I'll bring them all back! I'll get pregnant and make the family whole again, all of them..." It was clear that Lilim wasn't really in the right state of mind either, the way she was speaking. "Um, I know... it's hard... but don't hate her, okay? Kit's really nice when she wants to be!" It hurt really bad but Lilim would smile and pretend that it was fine.

"You're despicable," Celeste spat. Before now she never thought she was capable of truly hating someone, but now Celeste knew for certain. "You're so pathetic and miserable that you have to tear up someone else for your self satisfaction." Celeste was more in pain than angry, slightly delirious from the blood loss. Perhaps that was the reason she was speaking her next words. Even if the room was empty already, Kitra having finished her spiel and slammed the door shut. "You want to know the difference between you and I?" Celeste asked to the cold, stale dungeon air. "My family is still alive." It was a low blow, certainly not an everyday statement you'd hear from an angel. Now that she was certain no one was watching, Celeste burst into tears. Her entire body throbbed with pain as she sobbed, her tear drops falling onto her mangled feathers.

The door opened again, Celeste sniffled, looking up miserably. It was neither Lilim or Kitra, no, it was their brother, Cambian. "You mustn't tell anyone I'm down here." He poke softly, moving like a shadow across the floor, growing closer. She flinched as he reached out to brush a tear off of her cheek. "Are you here to torture me too? You're going to get the same answer. I. Don't. Know." He shook his head, revealing what looked to be a small vial filled with a pink tinted liquid. "Here, take this," Celeste turned away. "No, don't touch me!" She shut her mouth tight, glaring. "It's for the pain, just drink it." Celeste shook her head, "Why should I believe you? Your sister hasn't shown me any sort of kindness." He sighed, looking as though he had regrets. "You're the one that handed her the crown and now you won't even take responsibility."

"I messed up," he admitted. "But I've contacted your brother, Michael, your family knows you're here." Why was he telling her this? No doubt it was false hope that he was going to crush as quickly as it had come. "Just hang on a bit longer," as soon as Celeste opened her mouth to say something, he opened the pink vial and dumped its contents into her mouth. Celeste choked from surprise, swallowing half, the other half dribbling out of her mouth as a coughing fit ensued. When the angel looked up, Cambian was gone. Her pain eased partially, but her head still continued to swirl. At least it was bearable, unlike before where it had made Celeste nearly delirious. Now marring her skin were scars like lightning bolts traveling across her stomach. At least that was something she could cover with a dress. The wound on her foot had left no scar due to the fact that Lilim was the one that had healed it rather than cauterizing the wound shut.

The door opened again, this time, it was Lilim. Even if the girl outright stated that she didn't care about Celeste, it was still a relief to see the healing succubus. "Lil-" Celeste coughed, blood dripping from her mouth. Her wrists were unchained from above her, Celeste cried out as she dropped to the floor, crumpling in a heap. She had no strength to stand and with the wound on her foot still throbbing, her body was in agony. Celeste limped beside Lilim; even though the pink haired demon was younger, she was already bigger than Celeste. No doubt she was stronger too, already having control over her powers whereas for Celeste it was hard to use her's. Especially now, so injured she couldn't even focus if she wanted to.

Lilim led Celeste to a bedroom thoroughly decorated in pink and frills. It reminded Celeste of her own bedroom back home, albeit her's was a bit more tuned down and had a bunch of her art supplies stuffed into a corner. It was clear that the young demon was eager for practice. That's right, all Celeste was now was a dog, no longer a princess and with one wing, she could never truly call herself an angel. A sob racked her body once more, she was pitiful wasn't she? "Thank you, but... I don't think it's possible to regrow a wing." Celeste said through her tears. At least her face hadn't been damaged, if there was a chance that she made it out of this alive then she still had at least one good feature. All of her fingers were intact too, therefore she would still be able to paint, not that she would get another chance in a place like this. As the wound healed and the pain medicine started kicking in, her mind cleared from the fog. What was once a wing was now just a stump, a broken memory of a happy dream. "I can't ever be considered an angel again," a fresh set of tears blossomed in her eyes.

Lilim helped ease her into the bath, blood and dirt rising to the top of the water in an instant. It was nice and warm, although Celeste was embarrassed by the fact that they were both nude. Celeste couldn't lean back against the porcelain, it hurt too much. "What did I ever do to make her hate me so much..." she looked down at her hands, they were normally stained with colors but all Celeste could see was red. "I was a prisoner in my own home and now she's taken my last bit of freedom." Her dignity, her pride, and her body were all badly wounded. "The dead do not come back," Celeste spoke quietly. "Even if you do get pregnant, there's no chance it will be your family." That was up for the One God to decide after all. Angels and demons had no control over which souls went where. "For all you know, they could have been reborn already, living happy little demon lives with no fear of war or politics." Even if Lilim requested it, it was too late. "She already hates me, it's only appropriate that I return the favor."

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

With the angel in the bathtub with her, in the private bathroom that only Lilim was allowed into, it was one thing. She didn't really mind the red that wafted off of Celeste in the bathwater, even though she probably should have. Where the heck was Cam, anyways? She tried visiting his room earlier so they could talk about Kitra and her weird actions as of late but he wasn't in his room, and it wasn't like he was the type to nap anywhere else. Celeste was being a negative goose, and Lilim wantd her to keep spirited because it was funner to talk to someone who wasn't broken. "I'm gonna tell you what I used to tell Buer before he died." Lilim closed her eyes, a little minx-like smile on her face. "He always hated doing homework, right? So when he gave up, I told him that no matter what, there's always an answer!"

Her wings, dripping wet from the bathwater, furled and unfurled. She still had no idea how to maintain a human appearance, but Lil liked it better this way. Her wings were like, a permanent feature at this point. Celeste was still being sad, though, saying that she wasn't really considered an angel anymore, now that she lost a wing.. Lilim felt a little tug in her chest, as if she could relate to that. "Demons are supposed to be strong and love war." The succubus stated loftily. "They're supposed to be able to keep their demon sides inside and not let the monster form out." Her wings wiggled a little at this, shamefully. "They're supposed to have super strong powers that can be used to kill others."

She sighed a little, gently washing Celeste, talking to distract herself from the pain she absorbed. "I'm not really any of that! I'm super weak and stuff, and war is scary, so I'm not much of a demon or anything, hehe." It was probably a weird sort of comfort so she shrugged, listening to Celeste talk about her old life, about freedom, asking why she was hated so much. "I don't think she hates you." Lilim said quietly, shaking her head. "She just hates what you symbolize! You represent a happy family, and that's something we can never have again." The family of nine was now reduced to three broken members.

"No one's really free, you know? Even me, I can't go fly or anything because Kitra needs me. Kitra can't leave because she's Queen and has to protect what's left of us." It was true, wasn't it? Freedom was never real, there was o such thing. Celeste was saying weird things, sad things, and Lilim wiggled in the bath. "The family isn't complete without them!" Every day, Lilim missed them all, she missed Ronove's arrogant laughter, she missed how Zepar would always try her hardest to improve herself, she missed how Furfur and Kitra were always fighting and laughing together, how she, Cam, and Buer would sit around and play and eat and read comic books while they were supposed to be training! She missed all of those things. "I have to believe it'll work!" That's what Lilim decided and that's what she'd do.

Kitra felt lost and strange. She didn't like it, she was never the one to make decisions or anything. She was always the one following orders - either Fur's orders, or Zep's, or Ron's, or even Father. So even if she could make war strategies for invading Heaven, she was always unsure. "What would you do, Fur?" Fur was a warrior, Fur was incredibly strong, she was going to fight one of the Angel Princes for the title of Taurus if she could. Fur would choose war, right? She would want the war to continue, wouldn't she? "Avara, send these plans to General Inferni." Minerva, of the Wrath Tribe. She was incredibly strong, and Kitra trusted her strength. "Yes, Queen." Avara, her servant, said, taking the new plans. "You should get some rest, you look worn out, Kitra." Kitra shot him a glare and left her room. She needed to rest? She was the Demon Queen, she wasn't that weak. She needed to practice more and get stronger, so she could claim Scorpio as her own.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Celeste shrunk back when Lilim began to wash her, flinching at even the most gentle of touch. It was clear that fragments had begun to appear in the porcelain doll, but she wasn't completely broken, not yet. "Do you know what the last thing I said to my mother was? I told her she was ruining my life. Now I'll never get to see her again," Celeste was wrong, she was horribly wrong, her Mother had simply been protecting her from all of this. "I'll never get to tell her that I didn't mean it." There was always an answer? No, not in this case. It mattered not what answer Celeste had given Kitra, the demon had begun the torture even before she could interrogate her. How was being treated so unjustly the equivalent of an answer? "What's the answer to this one then? There is none." There was no right here, no justice, not in the land of demons.

Lilim unfurled her wings and in a way it felt like a taunt. Here this demon was, in her bat winged glory with her large chest and shiny pink hair, compared to Celeste who was average at most and her only striking feature really being her startling white hair that reflected the colors of the world around it. Right now it was a combination of red and yellow and smelled slightly like urine thanks to Kitra. "You're still young, no one expects much of anything from you yet." As the youngest, Celeste could relate. No one really expected anything much of her. Her parents would have probably paired her up with a fine noble house that could protect her. There were a few suitors that had taken a fancy to her, although they probably just wanted to dip their pinkies into the ring to get a hold of some sort of power. There were corrupt demons, but angels could be downright nasty when they wanted to be. Like Raphael, he was a smooth talker, always dropping subtle insults disguised as compliments. As a child, he would often get mistaken for a girl due to his feminine appearance and he uses it to his advantage.

"I'm not strong either, I'm the weak link and now, it looks like I'll be the one to drag the family name through the mud." Yes Lilim was awfully nice for a demon, even though she was only tending to Celeste so that she could practice using her ability. Lilim had begun using the soap to clean her, more blood and dirt rising to the surface. Her hair became light and fluffy white once more as the blood and bodily fluids were soaked away. Taking a bath was almost like being born anew, it was refreshing and relaxing, even now, sitting in a tub beside the demon. For some reason, Celeste couldn't bring herself to hate Lilim, even if the girl was just using her as a practice doll. Perhaps it was some sort of pheromone succubi released, she had heard that they secreted some sort of chemical that could make one fall in love at the first glance. "My only talent is painting," Celeste whispered.

"I wanted to be in an art show in town, but I wasn't allowed. Everyone scolded me, but Mizuki, my big sister, she wanted to support me. She told me I could do or be anything." Celeste began to shrink, literally. Her body became smaller and smaller as her light ability was activated. Celeste wasn't sure why it was happening now, but her body suddenly changed into the form of a kitten. "Mew!" The Princess cried out, trying to stay afloat in the tub.

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Parents were a weird sort of thing. Honestly, Lilim didn't have many memories of Mother or Father, so losing them didn't bother her all that much. They hardly spent time with her, vastly preferring the two eldest siblings above the rest. And then when father punished Cambion for not wanting to fight, let's just say that she never felt much of a connection to Mother and Father, so she didn't quite understand what Celeste was saying here. "It won't be the last thing, though. Kitra doesn't want to kill you." The succubus said with a smile. "You're more useful to her alive, so alive you'll stay." Celeste asked for an answer, for something that could solve this and Lilim shut her eyes, trying to think while simultaneously cleaning herself and Celeste. "If you and Kit became friends, it'd solve things!" That was the answer, wasn't it? Of course, they also needed Kitra to stop her self destructive path as well... but it was an answer to start with, at least.

Lilim was done doing the cleaning now, but she left the bath there since it was warm and nice and stuff. She got up and flapped her wings to dry herself off, then went to grab an assortment of things, tail swishing. "We're both the babies of the family." Lilim said but it wasn't the happiest thing ever. Most of the pain ebbed away now, and so it was time to have a little fun before Kitra came back. "Your hair is really nice, and you're young and cute! You have to take care of that, to be as cute as you can!" So Lilim started rubbing some sort of cream onto Celeste's face to keep the skin young and supple and glowy, and then patted a different solvent into her hair to make it extra fluffy. "You're really pretty!" Lilim then casually moved Celeste's hands to her chest. "If you rub, you'll get bigger, so don't forget to do a session every night if you can!" It was beauty time with the Lust Demon now, and Lilim happily poured every bit of advice, hoping Celeste would understand, she was a painter, after all.

"An art show, huh?" Lilim then went to her costume drawer, picking out various things until finally she decorated her wings to look like angel wings. "Alright, it's decided! I'm going to buy some of your stuff!" Lilim giggled, trying to take the bad memories away. She put on clothes that looked Heavenish and then played with them a little until they looked more convincing. "I was in Heaven before, actually. I think it was a prince, he took me and Buer from the palace during the war and took us to Heaven. It was kind of pretty, I guess." Heaven had it's charms, and Lilim would be glad for an excuse to leave the palace once in a while. And that was when she realized something.

Celeste had turned into a small fluffy kitten thing, mewling and struggling so as to not drown. Lilim moved quickly to pull her out of the water and helped dry her off, smiling. And then she frowned. "Um, you're super adorable, but Kit will be upset at me if you're like this." Still, that was an interesting power, wasn't it? "Oh, what if you could change into a demon and pretend to be someone else and - no, no, but then I can't practice on you anymore." Lilim felt a little lost and shook her head. She already memorized Celeste's measurements regardless. "I'll, um, pick out clothes for you when you feel like being an angel again!" Humming a little tune, Lilim turned to her dresser and started filing through clothes.

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

"Even if she doesn't intend to kill me, she probably will." The way she was beating Celeste up, the angel wasn't sure how much longer she'd last. It was a close call today and thanks to Lilim, Celeste was still in one piece. Otherwise her wound could have gotten infected, or worse, she could have bled to death. "I don't think I can ever be friends with her, not after what she did to me." Celeste gently touched the stump, wincing in pain. It was still tender. The wound was closed and there was no scar thanks to Lilim's healing. It itched slightly, the same sensation one would feel after having stitches. "If she wanted to be friends she could have been much more civil." There was no way Celeste could befriend that demon, not after she demeaned her to the status of a dog. Not after she nailed her wing to the wall, or chained her wrists high above her head for so long that they had gone numb. There were marks around them, indentations. They were no longer chained though, only her ankles had the bindings.

Lilim got out of the bath, Celeste stayed inside, relishing the feeling in case she wouldn't get the chance to bathe again for a while. It was like a warm embrace, even with the dirt and blood that had come off and were floating at the top like pond lilies."We're both the youngest and so the others feel the need to protect us." Yes, Celeste had always been sheltered by her family. They had been protective of her from the start seeing as how when she was little she was born so small. She pulled through despite the Doctor's not believing that she would make it. They had thought her to be underdeveloped, but her parents were certain that she was a fighter, just like the rest of their children. After seeing how she turned out though, they treated her like a fragile glass doll.

Celeste blushed when Lilim complimented her hair and called her young and cute. "Thank you," she squirmed. It was such an odd comment that Celeste couldn't help but blush. "Your hair is nice too, I can tell that you're fond of pink." Unless Lilim hated it and only painted her room that color for irony. Lilim then invaded Celeste's personal space for the second time that day, rubbing some sort of cotton candy smelling cream on both her face and body, even though Celeste was still sitting in the bathtub. She then brushed another of her creams into Celeste's hair, making it shine the way it normally did when the angel stood underneath a light. It seemed to one sister she was a punching bag and the other a dress up doll.

Lilim suddenly latched her hands onto Celeste's chest, massaging her mounds. "W-what are you doing!" he cried out, her face tickled pink with embarrassment. An odd sort of sound came from the Princess then, what could have perhaps been a cross between a moan and a whimper. Mercifully, Lilim released her with the advice to massage them every night so that they would get bigger. Celeste crossed her hands over her chest, her cheeks still pink. "Please don't do that again," she whimpered, feeling a deep sense of violation. Lilim ran gleefully into her bedroom, dressing herself and decorating her wings as though attempting to mock what an angel looked like. It was more amusing then insulting and Celeste found herself wondering if Lilim was just playing, or if she was attempting to comfort Celeste in some strange sort of way.

"I'm sure when my siblings took you, they didn't treat you the way Queen Kitra has been treating me." No, Celeste had seen the heavenly prisons before, they were rather nice. Private rooms with beds and toilets, a common meal room. There was no torture or chains or spears. "It's my home," Celeste said quietly. "I'm sure it's very nice here too," a lie considering everything outside of this room that Celeste had seen was doom and gloom. Her body began to change, going from a small angel to a small kitten. The chains dragged her down, nearly drowning her in the tub. Celeste cried out in surprise, her human voicing turning into the mewl of a kitten. Celeste had no real control over her powers, sometimes she could force it, but most of the time, like now, an emotional reaction would trigger it.

Lilim scooped the angel out of the tub, drying her off in a fluffy towel. "Mew," the fluffy white kitten shook her fur, sitting down on the towel. The chains had shrunk down as well, keeping her hind legs bound so that she couldn't run if she wanted to. At least like this, maybe Kitra would no longer hurt her. Who could ever hurt an adorably, fluffy kitten?

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Lilim tilted her head to the side when Celeste said that she was probably going to die either way. Lilim shook her head and pointed right between her chest with a smile. "Nuh uh, I'll keep you alive!" She wasn't much a demon, and her powers couldn't help fight or anything, but they were good for something, at least. Yes, Lilim decided she didn't care much about Celeste, but she liked talking to her, and it would be boring without talking to her. "You're fun to talk to, so I'll keep you alive!" Maybe it'd be kinder to let her die, but Lilim was selfish like that. No point in trying to be something you weren't, right? She was a selfish demon, and that was fine with her. "Big sis is really nice when she wants to be though. She always gave me ice cream when Father was mad at me." And there were many times Father was mad at her for not being strong like the rest of her siblings. "And she always protects me because I'm the youngest, just like how your siblings will want to protect you!" Her words were innocent, but Lilim figured Celeste might take it badly. It was too late to change it now though.

"Zepar painted my room pink and told me I was a cute spoiled princess." Lilim recounted, flitting about her room, somewhat excited to be able to talk about her siblings. "I don't know if I like it, but it reminds me of her, so I'm keeping it pink for her when she comes back and I birth her!" At the breast massaging Lilim was a little confused at why Celeste was being like this, but hopefully she would accept the advice. "I won't, as long as you remember to do the daily rub, okay?" With the creams she rubbed on, Celeste would be even prettier! Yes, even if Celeste said weird things, Lilim would for sure, she would definitely get her siblings back. Then the family would be together again!

When she was taken to heaven, it wasn't really that bad or anything. Sure, Lilim wasn't happy about it, but there wasn't any abuse, nothing like that. She shuffled uncomfortably, though. "I wasn't treated bad or anything... but it wasn't fun. If I was stronger, if Buer was better, we wouldn't have been caught. Then Mother and Father wouldn't have had to surrender and the family would be whole again." That's right. The state of the Vacivus family was her fault. Buer already died and paid for his weakness, but Lilim still had to suffer. "It's my fault they're all dead." It was how it was. "So other than you, I don't like angels. Why did they have to kidnap me and my brother? Why did they make us responsible for it all?" She never asked for this guilt.

After Celeste turned into a little kitty, Lilim decided to quickly cut through the cuffs. They were tiny now, so it was easy. "You're a cute kitty!" Lilim nodded and grinned and reached to hug when the door opened. Kitra was there, spear crackling. She was done with another training session. "Hiya, sis! How are you?" Kitra smiled at her and shrugged. "Fine, I guess. Where's the prisoner? And why do you have a cat?" Lilim decided to quickly make up a lie. "She's bathing... there's a lot of blood, sis. And Luxura gave me this cat!" Kitra sighed when the princess lifted the cat up and tickled its belly.

"Fine, keep the cat. Tell the dog to hurry up, I need to ask her more questions." But she was a cat now, so that would be silly, right? She needed Kitra to believe that Celeste's powers were healy powers! "Um, after Zep and Fur died, I got lonely... and you're always fighting and doing war stuff so no one plays with me." It was true, so it wasn't really a lie or anything. "It's fun to talk to a girl my age." A series of emotions went over big sis's face but then she sighed, defeated by the pouty puppy eyes. "....Fine, you may have her for tonight. I'll come pick her up tomorrow morning. And... once this war is over, let's play a lot more together, okay?" Lilim beamed, because she wanted nothing more. "Yes, please!"

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

Lilim would keep her alive. Apparently, the girl didn't see the cruelty in that. Even if Celeste wanted to die, the healer would bring her back and fix her body so that Kitra could batter and bruise her again. She'd probably take her other wing next, then maybe her eyes so that Celeste could never see or fly again. Her parents may just kill her as a mercy if they ever got her back. "It would be kinder if you'd just let me die." Celeste had never wanted death before. Now, being a prisoner of war, she understood the trauma of post traumatic stress disorder, she knew why soldiers came back from the front lines forever changed. Celeste wasn't sure she would be able to hold up much longer either, even if Lilim continued to heal her body, for the mind there was a point of no return. "I have a feeling I won't ever be getting ice cream from her." It was meant to be a light hearted joke, but Celeste truly sounded sad. Mizuki would bring her ice cream from the outside sometimes when Celeste was feeling down.

"My siblings always protect me," Celeste echoed. So surely they would be here soon, with the entire army at their heels. Soon, Celeste told herself, they would come swooping in and fight any soldier who dare stand in their way. Her brother's and sister were knights in shining armor after all, contenders for the zodiac, the strongest in Heaven, well, aside from her parents of course. If her parents were the ones who came knocking, you can bet Kitra would never see the light of day again. Kidnapping Celeste was an outright declaration of war and she hoped that the girl knew what she was doing. Or rather, she hoped that Kitra would lose so that she could go home, back to her comfy bed and her canvases and paints. Celeste was now satisfied to not leave the palace for a long while. She would listen to her parents because she knew that they were doing it for her protection. Celeste had never imagined that something on this scale would occur, she was certain that they hadn't either.

"My walls are pink too," Celeste smiled. Her's were not a vibrant pink, but rather a soft, baby pink. You couldn't really see it though, not with all the drawings Celeste had done. "If you'd like, I can draw over the color." Celeste smiled, "Not big enough to cover it over so that your sister can still recognize the color when you birth her, but small enough that it would individualize it." Celeste looked at the walls through the open bathroom door. The water was beginning to grow cold, but she didn't want to move. Getting out of the tub would mean going back there, going back there meant more pain and torture and humiliation. If Celeste stayed in the tub, she wouldn't have to return yet. Even if Lilim had violated her chest and made her promise to massage them on her own, although she probably wouldn't remember, nor be able to with her arms chained above her.

"It's not your fault. They didn't have to fight," Celeste shook her head. "If they hadn't attacked, you wouldn't have been taken. So it's not your fault," Celeste shook her head. That was like saying it was Celeste's fault for getting kidnapped, even though she was at home in bed. Celeste had been about to go to sleep when it happened and the next day she had awoken here, in a dungeon in Hell. "I'm sure no one blames you," Celeste shook her head, then turned into a kitten and had to be rescued by Lilim. She sat in the towel, her fur all fluffed up. The kitten tried to stand, but the chains on her legs made her trip and she got tangled in the towel.

Lilim once more came to her rescue, breaking the chains and freeing the kitten. Lilim called her cute, she lifted Celeste the kitten and hugged her close when the door opened. "Mew," she purred. Her eyes widened slightly as Lilim made up a lie, saying that Celeste was still in the tub. Why would she do that? She was really so lonely that she would cling to the angel who the other sister considered at fault for their family's death? Celeste mewled as Lilim began to tickle her. Her tail swished from side to side and she squirmed. Kitra was just about to leave, they had nearly gotten away with it when the kitten sneezed and Celeste turned back into an angel. "I'm done with the bath," she squeaked, hoping that Kitra wouldn't mind the joke.

Letting her die? Lilim shook her head, no, that wasn't the right answer at all, that was just silly. "Of course not! There's already one broken royal family, no need to make it two, right?" Lilim's words were both careless and innocent but she meant what was said. "And I need to practice, too, and you're fun to practice on!" She wouldn't tell her the downsides of practice, the fact that she felt the pain she took, but that was just unnecessary detail. "I'll sneak ice cream in later, then!" It was decided. "Ice cream in the demon realm is better than angel ice cream!" There were more flavors and everything, too, it was great! She winked when Celeste confirmed that the older siblings protected her. "We're the babies, so they have to. It's our special privilege as the youngest!"

Celeste made an offer, to draw a little, promising not to take away the pink that would trigger Zepar's memories - ignoring the fact that a demon remembering their past life was completely unheard of - and the succubus smiled, deciding that maybe she liked Celeste more than she thought she would. "I'd like that." Lilim said quietly. Talking about the hostage situation, Celeste seemed to be sympathizing with her. "I blame myself to make up for the others not." Lilim explained, because she knew no one really blamed her at all. "If I didn't exist to be made a hostage, things woulda been different..."

When Celeste became a kitty, Lilim blinked and then came to a sudden revelation. "...We could've been sisters in law..." She said softly. Lilim giggled a little, saying things that most demons would never say, as she patted and petted the kitty beside her. "Peace would have been nice." That was when the door opened and big sis didn't catch onto the lie at all. It made the succubus happy to think about the fun times she'd have with Kit in the future, she missed playing with her. "I need to get back to training for Sco-" That was when the worst happened. The kitty sneezed and turned into Celeste.

Kitra stared at the scene for a few seconds and Lilim went quiet and fidgety. First of all, Lilim lied to her to try to protect this idiotic princess. Secondly, she decorated her demon wings to look like angel wings, and thirdly, Celeste's power wasn't healing, but shape shifting, which meant the earlier foot-healing was in fact Lilim. "We'll talk later, Lil." Kitra snarled, sounding rougher than she had to, and then electricity crackled in the palms of her hand, currents running down her slender arms. "For tricking and using my sister, I'll punish you, you filthy dog, after being nice enough to give you a break tonight, too."

"No!" Lilim shouted suddenly, jumping up to take the electric shock, whimpering and falling to the carpet flooring, twitching. "D-don't! I want her tonight, and she doesn't know anything!" The Demon Queen stiffened angrily, why did this happen? What was even going on anymore? "So you're siding with her, then?" Lilim was crying and there was a nasty smell of burnt flesh, she was probably more wounded than she let on, but didn't know how to heal herself. "Just keep her as a hostage, you don't have to play the question game!"

Okay, this was just getting irritating now. "The angels stole everything from us, Lil. Don't ever forget it." Kitra then reached for Celeste, pulling a cloak around her and yanking her by her remaining wing, dragging her along the floor back to the dungeon level of the palace. "I don't know what lies you told her, but you should stop it. Lil is too kind for her own good." The girl was a demon yet she never, ever fought. Instead of going back to the dog's room, Kitra had a better idea.

"Pr-Princess.... what are you doing here?" The captive angel asked, quivering against the chains. Kitra grinned, Celeste was bound at the wrist and ankles again so she couldn't interrupt even if she wanted to. "Don't hurt her, you monster!" Kitra twirled her spear, grinning. "This angel was the one that taught me the guard schedules around your home, Celty. I brought him here and he told me exactly how to sneak in and grab you." If it wasn't for this loudmouthed idiotic angel, she'd never have so easily been able to have Celeste abducted. "So in a way, it's his fault, isn't it?" The angel was crying now. "I'm sorry! Princess, please, I'm sorry, she wouldn't stop hurting me, I couldn't... I couldn't... please save me..." But even after an hour of slashing him to bits, there was no help to be given. After an hour of screaming and pleading, life finally vanished from the angel's eyes.

Kitra's own amber eyes glinted viciously at Celty. "He betrayed you, so he got what he deserved, didn't he?" She then picked up the part of his body she left untouched for a reason. One of the angel wings corresponding to the side Celty herself lost. "A gift for you." She offered it to the chained up angel princess.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

"I can paint whatever you'd like," Celeste smiled, already running ideas through her mind. A beautiful garden, a hundred balloons floating in the sky, maybe a nighttime landscape. It depended on what Lilim wanted though. "Back home, I would paint things for noble houses, the art show I wanted to go to had a bunch of different artists from across both realms." Celeste had sold her paintings there and hadn't gotten to see the reaction of any of her buyers. "Even if you were just using me for practice, I still want to show you my thanks for healing me." Celeste smiled, hoping that they could be friends, even if she was just their family's dog now. If Lilim tried to massage her chest again, Celeste wouldn't be able to stop her, she realized, because she had been demeaned to the status of a dog.

They had almost gotten away with the lie, they had been so, so close, but due to her body's poor timing, the plan failed. Now not only was Celeste going to be in trouble, but Lilim would be too. "I didn't do anything!" Celeste insisted, shaking her head. "I have no control over my ability!" If she sneezed again she very well could turn right back into a kitten or any other animal from any of the realms. She braced herself for the electricity when Lilim jumped between the two. "Lilim!" Celeste cried out, trying to reach for her. Kitra grabbed Celeste then, jerking the angel away from the demon. Celeste attempted to go to her, even though she knew she couldn't do anything, but Kitra pulled her in the other direction, giving Celeste nothing but a coat to wear.

"I didn't tell her anything, your sister is a free individual with a brain of her own." Celeste pointed out, attempting to break free from Kitra's grip, no such luck, Kitra was a trained fighter, whereas Celeste was soft and weak. "You shouldn't cage her up like this, she's a person not an animal." Kitra should allow her little sister to go in and out of the palace as she pleased. Instead, Lilim was stuck inside, which was no better than being trapped in the dungeons. They walked right past the room Celeste had been in before. She stumbled to keep up, limping on one foot due to the pain in the other. She had a terrible feeling as they walked further into the dungeon, the door opening and Kitra leading Celeste inside. Her worst fear had been confirmed, standing before her, was an angel that had been taken captive. "Let him go!" Celeste protested, her remaining wing fluttering in anticipation.

"Don't worry, the army is on its way." Celeste assured the angel, wondering who this was. One would think she would have learned their names in truth, but now she severely regretted it. Right before her very eyes, Kitra began slicing the man up the way a butcher would an animal at the slaughter. a scream ripped from her chest as she watched the poor man be dissected. "Stop it!" The angel cried, unable to move due to that she was in fact, chained to the spot. "Stop it, don't hurt him! Stop it!" Her head spun as she watched, her chest heaving. This man, this innocent, was being punished on her behalf. "I forgive you, don't worry about that." He was telling her that she needn't worry.

Loyal to the end, Celeste wanted to give this poor man a well earned hug. Kitra cut him off holding the man by the hair and cutting off his wing. Her eyes were wide she watched what Kitra intended and it made it all worse. Kitra offered her the wing and Celeste shook, falling to the ground. "No," she whispered. Her voice had turned into a whimper and she pitifully fell to her knees. "You killed another innocent man." Celeste was shaking, she wasn't sure what to do. Tears fell from her eyes and dripped to the ground. "Are you happy now? So caught up in rage that you've become a heartless monster."

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

Kitra was angry. Angry at herself for screwing up like this, angry at herself for hurting her only sister left, angry at herself for more reasons than she could even think about. And yet she was far too stubborn in her plans, she couldn't just - no, she had to get rid of this excess rage somehow. Was this what it was like for Fur, except worse? Fur was represented by Wrath, so this was why she was always throwing herself into fights whenever she could, right? Lilim was twitching on the floor, trying not to move or cry out. "Sh-she doesn't know anything, okay?" Lilim murmured, still trying to smile. "It's not your fault, I'm okay.. it doesn't hurt..." But she wasn't fooling anyone, and finally, Luxura came by to care for the princess. "Fix her." Kitra barked the order as she dragged the angel princess away.

She was the Demon Queen. She had a responsibility to fight the angels, to right the wrongs that had been done to them. She wouldn't forgive because to forgive meant to forget, it meant the crimes would go unpunished. And yet she was focusing so much on the war plans that she was being awful to her own siblings, wasn't she? This crown was too heavy, Kitra both wanted it and despised it all at once. She wanted Ronove or Zepar to have it, and yet she herself desired the crown for herself. "Lilim's too gentle. She never even took a life." Lilim and Cambion were both pacifists in almost every sense of the word. It was a disgrace. "You angels will just abduct her again if I don't keep her safe!" It happened before, and it'd happen again.

They got to the angel prisoner's room and Kitra started it. She was unleashing her pent up emotions about everything, letting them loose into her spear, turning this angel into nothing more than burnt scraps of nothing, hanging onto the chains, dead. Celty was screaming and crying and begging to spare him but of course she wouldn't just do that. "He was weak, couldn't even keep his mouth shut to save you. If he was stronger, you'd still be safe, ]Celty." Kitra felt better now, she felt calmer, all was as it should be. "Innocent? Don't make me laugh. He was a coward, through and through."

She was a heartless monster? Kitra sneered maliciously at the princess before her. "I don't care what I become if it means I can pay the angels for the pain that my family suffered." Her eyes glared sharply at those of Celty, unwavering and strong. "My fallen sibling's dreams fall to me now. I can't fail them." They all would've approved of this, wouldn't they? It'd be an insult to them if she stopped plotting the war. That was when Cambion walked in, seeing the wing and the scene before him. "Sister, you should rest." He said clearly. "You're reaching your limit."

"I should be at the front lines, instead of wasting my time in the palace." Kitra whispered, anger at herself coming back. "The longer I stay here, the worse. The sooner I'm back on the battlefield, the sooner I can claim Scorpio as my own. She'd become a Zodiac Warrior, a testament to her strength and resolve. But Cambion wasn't moving aside at all when Kitra tried to push past him, dragging Celeste along again. "At the very least, eat. Both a Queen and a prisoner need food to live, that is, if you intend on keeping her alive." Kitra grudgingly agreed then, and followed Cambion's lead to the dining hall. It wouldn't do to let Celty starve, she'd make a horrid hostage if she was dead.

"You, you're despicable." Celeste rose to her feet, shaking from a lack of energy. "Do you think Lilim was treated like this when she was captured? She was given a bed and hot food and clothes. She wasn't tortured for information, she wasn't chained up to the wall like a dog." Her hands clenched into fists. "Now you've made her a prisoner in her own home. How is this any different?" Further, they would have had no reason to abduct her. "You're the one whose put her in danger! If you hadn't taken me, there would be no reason for a hostage of their own!" Kitra had committed a sin against the angels and she would not be forgiven, not after seeing how they had been treating Celeste. If she ever did get out of here, her family would not forgive the demons. "You have thrown any chance of a treaty out the window. Your siblings will be forever hunted thanks to you."

"No, he was strong. Everyone is weak in the face of adversity, but he held up. That's why you used your methods, petty torture. No doubt you dangled freedom in front of him like some sort of golden carrot and then sharply ripped it away, didn't you?" Whatever the case, the soul had already dissipated, the soldier would be living a human life now. "You demons, you take and you take and you take, because that's the only thing you know to do. You steal lives, you rip apart families and take any hope of happiness away." Celeste trembled, seeing the severed wing before her. "You're the one who is weak. Using petty means to get what you want like a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum." Celeste looked Kitra right in the eye then. "You are the cowardly one, Kitra."

"I asked you not to call me that, you hypocrite." Her hands balled into fists. "You've already taken enough from us." Celeste only had one wing now, her family was missing their baby, her parents were no doubt up in arms about being unable to find her. Surely the broken window was evidence that she hadn't gone peacefully. "Zepar, she wanted peace did she not? How can you throw her wishes out the window? All of that hard work, everything your siblings did, you're throwing it out the window!" Celeste wouldn't forgive her. "You've tarnished your family name, you've dishonored the names of the dead." The door opened then, Cambion returned. Celeste wrapped the cloak tighter around herself, she wasn't wearing anything underneath it, unless you counted the chains.

The front lines? So war had been ignited after all. "You will never be honored with Scorpio." Celeste whispered. "You do not know the meaning of the word honor." There were certain standards that the Zodiac Warriors had to uphold, Kitra had none of those qualities. So it was time for food then? Her stomach growled, Celeste hadn't realized just how hungry she was, having only been fed the scraps of Lilim's breakfast. Kitra took up the chains again, tugging Celeste along. The angel tripped, but before she could hit the floor, she turned into a fluffy white kitten again. With tiny kitten legs, Celeste had to practically run to keep up. The stairs were hard to tackle and the kitten mewled, showing that she was stuck. "Mew," she said, clinging onto the step, her hind legs unable to touch the ground and give her a boost.

❝The one winged bird will fly once again!❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #7D65B3

|| Swan Song || Set it Off ||

Celeste really was infuriating, talking about Lilim and Buer's imprisonment as if they had a pleasant time in Heaven. "Their suffering wasn't physical, you idiot. They blamed themselves for being captured, since it resulted in our parents agreeing to the meeting in neutral territory." It was that guilt that made Lilim obsessed with wanting to birth their fallen siblings, it was that guilt that brought Buer to the battlefield and to his death. "Lilim will bear that weight no matter how much I tell her she's innocent." She sighed then, maybe she was more tired than she thought she was. "I know I'm the villain here, but I don't mind that, either. If I can save my parents from the clutches of you angels, I don't care what I become." There wasn't any room left for kindness or mercy or fairness, not anymore.

The Demon Queen grinned somberly at Celty's words. She decided not to debate the coward that gave away the guard patrols, and instead focused on that second bit. "Which family was the one that was torn apart? Oh, right. Us demons." Her eyes were almost glowing with distaste. "Who started the whole thing? Oh, right, you angels. You still have your family intact, so don't talk as if we're the only ones at fault here." Then the demon suddenly grinned wider. "Aren't you the hypocrite? You act like an angel, all holy and whatever, but you don't care about the suffering of demons, do you? You only worry about your own kind." Selfishness, that's what it was. Hypocritical. "Sure, I hardly care about the angels, but at least I don't try to act like the hero of the story."

How irritating, she was bringing up Zepar. One moment she insults her and the next, presumes to know her. "She wanted peace, and she also wanted to be able to trust her husband. Evidently, it only worked one way." There was no real two ways about this. The angels had their parents captive in their monster forms, letting them recall their worst memories endlessly until they died - which would never happen. "Fur wanted war, she lived for battle. Ronove wanted to conquer, he wanted to achieve our parent's dreams of a righteous world. Buer didn't care either way, he just wanted to absolve himself of his guilt." Cambion came then, forcing her into eating - and to feed this sheltered princess as well.

At least, until she suddenly transformed into a kitten. Kitra decided they didn't have time to spoil a kitten so she lifted Celeste up by the skin on the back of her neck, pinching it roughly between her two fingers. "There are better ways to hold a cat, you know." Cambion said, he was clearly amused at this. "Shut up. Let's just eat. Prepare a bowl of milk for her if she insists on being an animal." So they arrived at the table, and food was already prepared, some sort of seafood dish. Kitra started eating, and then the milk was brought out. "Too cold, heat it up a little." The Demon Queen said with a scowl after putting her pinky in the milk. She then turned her attention to the kitten. "I have Scorpio's symbol inside me, remember? That means I was chosen to participate." The standard that mattered most was strength, and this demon definitely had that in spades.

❝A dream is a wish your heart makes. ❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#F6A8B6 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #BDA0CB

|| Bird Set Free|| Sia ||

"It seems that no matter what I say, you're going to twist my words to your advantage. If you're really looking for excuses for your actions, you will find none of them here." Celeste said, turning away. She felt sick to her stomach, having to watch an angel die for the amusement of this, of this witch! It was true what they said, that there was no hope for the demon kind. Light and darkness would always wage war, there was no hope for peace in these people who wanted nothing but war. It was almost as though they had been the ones to sabotage their only chance at a cease fire. "Children are not the tools of their parents," that was Celeste's final word on the matter. She was frustrated with Kitra attempting to antagonize her and then punishing Celeste for the view she had on things. There was nothing productive about this, but at least Kitra was no longer poking holes in Celeste with her spear.

When Cambion came in, Celeste was glad for a break. Her stomach growled and she followed them, sneezing and turning into a kitten. The poor girl clung to the step, the chains and cloak tangling her paws and making it hard to go much of anywhere. Kitra whirled around, clearly fed up with her antics, most likely assuming that Celeste had done this on purpose. "Mew," the kitten said as she was lifted. Celeste had no control over her ability, if she turned, it was usually because of emotional or physical stress. This was definitely a combination of both. There was not much relief as she was lifted by the skin of her neck. The kitten squirmed, clearly uncomfortable. Cambion attempted to make a comment but Kitra snapped and told him to shut up. Celeste mewled, the now tiny chains jingling as they moved. Celeste would have never spoken to one of her siblings with such blatant disrespect. Kitra should have considered herself lucky that Cambion had even given her this position and yet she treated her siblings more like subordinates.

She was dumped on the floor as they reached the table. The kitten turned once or twice before sitting on her hindquarters, watching as food was brought out. "Mew," she said, knowing that they probably were ignoring her. Would she only be fed scraps? It seemed that something was brought out for Celeste but sent back and the angel felt as though she was just getting teased. Kitra turned to her then, saying that she already had the mark of Scorpio. "Mew," Celeste the kitten replied. Just because you were a contender did not mean you made rank. They had a certain standard to uphold and as far as Celeste knew, Kitra met none of those. Zodiac warriors were honorable and noble of heart, they did not senselessly hurt or kill for fun, they did not murder an angel simply because they thought they were a coward.

Of course, Celeste couldn't tell Kitra this, especially not as a kitten. A bowl of milk was brought out and Kitra stuck a pinkie in it to test it. What was she doing? Poisoning the food? Electrifying it to make Celeste's fur stand on end? The kitten turned a few times, chains dangling. Finally, the bowl was placed on the ground. It was a bit bigger than the kitten herself and she had to sit on the edge of the bowl to drink from it. Cambion put some of his food on a napkin, just a small portion and placed it down beside the bowl of milk. Before Kitra could take it away or anything, Celeste pounced on it, taking tiny bites and drinking milk until she was full. Then the kitten curled up on the floor, feeling tired. Her maw was dripping wet and she sleepily began to nod off when poof! The kitten turned back into a human. Celeste squealed, covering herself as much as she could with the cloak.
