❝When you are in a garden which flowers do you pick? The most beautiful ones.❞

Celeste stroked the mare's mane as Kitra feed him the sugar cube. It was funny hearing her sound like this, speaking with the grace of angel nobility. There were so many sides to Kitra and for some reason, this old fashioned one made Celeste blush. The angel was quick to turn away, Orana was her Aunt after all, she couldn't fall in love with the girl that was related to her, that would be blasphemous, even if it was really Kitra in disguise. The workers of the palace seemed to all be in awe of these new arrivals, Celeste who should have been dead, Orana who should have perished long before. The council watched them wearily, as though to gauge the two who were huddled beside the unicorn. Finally Morgana approached and dipped into a bow. "Welcome home Princess Celeste and Princess Orana, it is an honor." Celeste smiled but didn't curtsy, she didn't hold any respect for this beast of a woman that was trying to tear her family apart.

"Thank you for greeting us Morgana. As you can imagine, we're weary from having flown all day." By now night had come, the sun sank beyond the horizon and the lights from lanterns flickered in the wind, "Yes, of course Princess, I hope to see you at council tomorrow." Morgana dipped her head and shuffled away, back to the other council members who had mixed degrees of excitement. Some were horror struck, others were delighted by their return. Celeste waved politely before turning away, Gabriel was pushing them inside, out of the light, away from where the council could hear their whispers. It was nice to walk these familiar hallways as herself, her fingers trailing against the walls until they reached the the throne room. Gabriel pushed them both inside and sealed the doors, enacting a charm with a flick of his wrist to keep away any prying eyes or ears.

"That's a big honor," Celeste smiled and nudged Kitra. "Being appointed to the council, you'll have a hand in just about everything." Celeste turned eagerly to Gabriel. "What can I do?" She inquired, it was clear that she wanted to help, she wasn't afraid of battle any longer. Gabriel paused to think, listening to the sounds of the silent hall to ensure that they were not being listened to. "I want you by my side," Gabriel finally said. "I need you to support me." Celeste nodded, this was an important job. In truth Gabriel was just making up a position, he wanted to keep Celeste close by his side so that the council's hooks wouldn't dig into her. "I'll do whatever I can to help," in a slow dip she curtsied, bowing low to the ground. "My King," Gabriel seemed flustered by this, "rise Celeste, you shouldn't bow to me." He turned and unsealed the doors.

"Go get some rest, Celeste, why not share your room with Orana tonight?" Celeste nodded and took Kitra's hand, "come Orana, we'll see about your sleeping arrangements." No one stopped them on their way up to the tower, the most secluded part of the castle. It was on purpose that Celeste had chosen her room on the highest part of the palace, it was because no one would ever come to bug her as it was too much of an inconvenience. The only ones that came to visit were those who had to, like Nani who had left dinner for them on the table.

Everything about Morgana was just irksome. Kitra smiled politely at the woman while her insides wanted to skewer the villain right here and now and be rid of her forever. Unfortunately they couldn't do that, they had to be more subtle about this affair. They had to be cordial, they had to be careful. Brute strength wouldn't win this for them - brains and cunning would. "I hope we can have beneficial relations, just as the council and the royalty did in my time." They were going to have to make up a lie about Azphille helping out in Hell, and that Kitra was also there, fighting. However if Morgana and Satan really were working together - which was unlikely, seeing as how much this woman hated demons - then this ruse wouldn't work out nearly half as well. in any case, Kitra was awarded with being directly under Morgana in rank for the council. "I'll make good use of this, heh." The demon said with aplomb, casting away all the formal vernacular.

Gabriel was giving Celeste a position too, one where she would be able to help and assist in her own way. Kitra would be in the crossfire, Celeste would be on protecting Gabriel from the subtle manipulations by being a second voice in meetings with the Crown. Already the demon was spinning ideas in her head that she could do to try and slowly subvert the power structure. One such idea was using tax money to build a children's prison and to place the demon children of Valhalla there, while of course, decorating the place with flowers from the Flowersea powered by a certain Devoured Soul that deserved every second. If the flowers could heal Light Disease, it could definitely heal the Rotting Plague. "My tongue's gonna die from talking all formal, gah.." Gabriel gave her a pointed look and sighed. "Be more careful." Was all he said and they were dismissed, it was time to sleep now.

It was time to go back to Celeste's room, the most private room in all of Eden. Ever since she was abducted by Kitra all those months ago, the room was given lots of security charms, not even Maya could break in as a result. It was the safest place to talk and to be herself - perhaps the only place to do so. "I always wanted to see Heaven again after being away for so long." Kitra said idly, random small talk in case of any ears listening in. "Azphille would love it, I should court her here one day." And here they were, the room where it all started, where Kitra first laid her eyes on Celeste, when Kitra's heart was bound to that of Celeste.

Almost instantly Kitra collapsed onto the bed, dragging Celeste with her, feeling exhausted at having to put up a disguise all the time. "Now I know how you feel." Her voice was muffled by Celeste's soft yet tiny chest. "Gah, I'm gonna forget my real name by the time this crap is done." It must have sounded very odd to hear such crass language coming from a soft melodic voice such as hers, it sure as heck sounded foreign to Kitra too. "I'm not used to my body yet... so why don't you take the lead tonight? Show me all the places an angel is most sensitive." And hopefully Gabriel would have darkness pills for her by tomorrow somehow because her head was already spinning.

"I'm sure your return must be nostalgic," Celeste pretended to lead the way when in reality, Kitra probably knew where to go. "That sounds so romantic, you could do it right in front of those flowers!" Celeste pushed open the door to her room, making a wide sweeping gesture with one arm. "Welcome, please, make yourself at home." She closed the door behind her and stepped out of her winter boots. Almost as soon as the door was closed, Celeste slumped against the wall. "Wow, it's tiring pretending to be nice to the council, no wonder Gabriel is so exhausted." Her stomach growled, Celeste sat down to snag a bit of food before Kitra dragged her over to the bed, wanting Celeste to take the lead tonight. "I-I'll do my best!" Celeste said, her cheeks already pink. Kitra was the dominant one, for little Celeste to be taking over was a big step in their relationship.

"I'll teach you all of our most sensitive spots," Celeste caressed right between Kitra's ears, her fingers tracing small circles in slow movements. Once the two girls were undressed, Celeste did her best to try and make Kitra achieve Heaven, showing Kitra all of the female angel's sensitive bits, from a certain spot in their wings to a pleasurable place on their spine. It was different from their usual, Kitra using her tentacles to torment Celeste until she was begging for release, but just as tiring. When both girls were content and Celeste had curled up in her side, she found that Kitra's wings could wrap her right up, covering both of their bodies. In this shape, Kitra's figure was much fuller and her chest was like two cushions. "Comfy," Celeste rubbed her head against the mounds.

When morning broke, Celeste was careful to untangle herself from Kitra's six wings, not wanting to hurt her. She started up the bath and stretched, her own wings spreading to their full length. Nani hadn't brought them breakfast yet, which was good since it meant she hadn't seen the two girls entangled in a lover's embrace. Celeste blushed, recalling the night before, how it was slow and steady versus their normal pace. Celeste still had a lot of uncertainties after all, it was a good experience for her to get to explore Kitra's body, even if it wasn't her real one. Perhaps those sensitive spots were the same on demons? Celeste would have to check this theory out later, when Kitra was a demon once more.

As morning broke in the realm, two armies were gathered. One was about to cross the flaming river that would let them enter the borders of the Sloth Village, while the other had set up multiple defenses along the river bank to try and kill the enemy as they tried to cross. Minerva took command of the defense, while Satan was leading the attack with aplomb. This was their last defense, if the Sloth Village was taken, then the Onyx Citadel would be exposed for anyone to try and attack, there weren't any other natural defenses to cling to. "It's starting, it's do or die. We have to fight our hardest if we want to protect those we love." Minerva didn't need a big rousing speech, everyone knew the drill, everyone knew what was at stake. Lilim was hanging back while Raphael handled the vanguard. He was going to protect the demons manning the catapults and the traps while Lilim would act as a battlefield medic, and eventually be able to transfer all the injuries to important enemies - most important being Satan himself.

But this was a battle Kitra and Celeste weren't going to have to fight, they were far, far away from Hell's frontline. Rather, they had their own battles to fight, but not one with swords and spears and monster forms, but one with words and politics and sneaking around for information against Morgana and the rest of the Council. "Thanks for last night."[/color[ Kitra breathed, her voice weak and trembly because she had just woken up. "I guess I taught you a think of two about leading, didn't I?" Celeste had done a fine job if her sounds during last night's love tryst were to be evaluated. So then Nani came after the girls took their morning bath and showered and that was when Kitra felt weak and wobbly.
"So stupid, forgot the darkness pills in Hell." What kind of idiot made such a mistake?

As they left Celeste's room, a certain two familiar people were there. "Here, some candy for you, Princess Celeste. I bought it while I was in town." Ami handed it over, it was a bottle of darkness pills with candy label glued to the outside so no one would realize. "It's good to see you again, Princess Celeste, and your long lost aunt, Princess Orana." Kitra kind of wished she could tell them the truth, but not here, not when anyone could be eavesdropping. "Celeste has informed me about her two most trusted retainers, as well as the two retainers that served her big brother Prince Michael so well." The two servants looked almost thrilled and then if you looked carefully enough you'd be able to see a diamondish sort of wing on Ami's finger. He did it, he proposed, and it seemed the shadow puppet angel hadn't said no at all.

Ami had a slight blush on her face and then she brought forth their schedules until lunch. "There's a Council meeting and they request your prescence, Princess Orana." She coughed and it was weird because Ami usually was the type to be very healthy all the time. "And you, Celty, Councilman Onoel and former Lbira wants to talk to you and King Gabriel while the rest of the council is at the meeting." So then it seemed they had work to do. "I shall attend to my duties then, and see you later, Celeste." It was painfully having to be so formal with the girl she loved.

"I'm glad you liked it," Celeste smiled, feeling a surge of pride. She had been able to make Kitra feel good, just like all of those times Kitra had done it for her. There were, of course, still uncertainties and Celeste was no where near as good as Kitra, but it was a nice learning experience and it gave Kitra some hints as to the more sensitive spots on Celeste's body. Although, at this point Kitra had pretty much roamed everywhere, leaving little marks of possession on the angel's light skin. Their bath was quick, there wasn't a lot of time to fool around this morning and almost as soon as they were done Nani had come to deliver breakfast. "Good morning girls," she beamed, placing the tray down on the table. "Morning," Celeste smiled, "thank you for breakfast." Nani left the two and Celeste sank into a chair, "I'm sure Gabriel will have already informed someone," who could it be Celeste wasn't sure.

It turns out, the answer came in the form of her two favorite retainers. "Thank you Ami, I do love dark chocolate." Celeste said and hugged the servant she was certain he wouldn't be seeing in a long time. Fate was funny like that, just when you thought you would never see someone again, here they were not two weeks later. "It is good to see you again," her eyes sparkled, it hadn't been long since their last meeting, but they had to make pleasantries for the eyes and ears within the walls. "Ah, Ami, Finn, this is Princess Orana of Eden." Surely by now the knights had seen through the guise, why else would Celeste need darkness pills? Such things didn't add up, unless they believed that Kitra was in hiding somewhere else in the palace. "Princess, these are Ami and Finn," Kitra acted accordingly, pretending that she had heard so much about them.

It was then that she noticed the large rock and Celeste's eyes sparkled in delight. "You said yes!" She squealed, taking Ami's hands. Ami blushed and looked away, "yeah, but only because he's so helpless without me around." It was Finn's turn to blush now. "I-I get sort of lost with-without her," it was adorable and Celeste was incredibly happy for her two friends. "Celeste," Ami said, her eyes holding a questionable light. "I would have liked to ask you in a more... private fashion, but would you like to be one of my bridesmaid's?" Celeste gasped, "me?" Ami nodded her head. "Yes! Yes, of course!" Celeste threw her arms around the servant in a way the council would not approve of, after all, why should a blue blood ever have cause to hug someone of lower status?

"Alright, we'll get right to it then. I shall see you later Orana," Celeste waggled her fingers, watching as Finn and Ami escorted Kitra towards the council room. Celeste hiked up her dress, she had her own business to attend to in the form of a big brother and the former Libra. The zodiac marking was currently being covered by dainty white gloves, Celeste felt awfully self conscious of them when she entered the throne room where her brother was sitting, looking more regal than he had since his coronation. "Princess, good, you're here." Someone stepped out from the shadows, dipping into a low bow, Celeste returned his greeting with a polite upturn of the lips. "I suppose our meeting shall begin?"

Okay, with everyone at the table for the Council to have their meeting, Kitra had to admit something very important here. And sure, while she already knew it, it wouldn't hurt to pretend to be less perceptive than she really was. Of the Council, Kitra was made to memorize the more important names. Morgana, the head of the lot, no family as far as anyone knew. Onoel, the former Libra, always seemed to support Zadkiel and Callisto, his current stance is unknown as of now. Gawain, a former general who suffered an injury during the old wars against Lucifer and retired from the military. Dislikes demons as a rule. Astor, relatively new to the Council, born from one of the noble houses. Apparently in his youth he experienced sadness due to never having been chosen to be a Contender, let alone a Zodiac. He tried hard but lacked natural talent. These four were the ones with the most influence, and one of them wasn't even here.

"Where is Councilman Onoel?" Kitra asked with a slightly exaggerated face of sorrow. "I hoped to have a full Council today." Morgana looked at her with a polite, formal little nod of the head. "It was the plan, but he reported that he had urgent business to attend to with his family and very much regrets not being able to meet you, Princess Orana." If she even counted as a princess anymore, it was hard to say, really. Certainly the rest of Orana's old siblings were long since dead now, having lived out their days and ended up dying, possibly due to the perennial war going on between angels and demons that only now seemed to be resolved. "I see. That is a shame, but it it is of no matter." Kitra waved it off, trying to shrug blue hair out of her eyes, finding it to be very disconcerting when she was used to a black fringe.

So it was time to talk, to discuss things and Kitra had to pretend to be slightly old fashioned in her values. While the Council wanted higher taxes, back in Orana's time taxes were quite low and the people could buy as they wanted, many of them donating to public services regardless. "It would be nice to trust our civilians to put some money back into the community for communal benefit." She said and Astor appeared to agree with her on that stance, saying that high taxes in a time of mourning wasn't the way to make a happy kingdom. They also discussed the latest talk about using magic to tell the gender of your child and if it would be outlawed or not for indirectly encouraging more abortions when parents were dissatisfied. Kitra was neutral but she knew Orana would have been against it, having red Twin Roses Bloom many, many times. "All babies should be loved no matter how they look or what gender they may be."

And now they were at the most important thing, to end off the meeting. Morgana took the lead here with flourish. "We should close Heaven off for demon traders at the Gate, so that they can't enter and bring their influence in." Now, if this bill was passed, Kitra knew it would make things even more difficult for Hell to survive. "Why should we offer our supplies when it was the demons who used runes and ruined their land on their own? That's their job to fix, not ours." Morgana insisted and Kitra so very much wanted to stab her in the eye and rip out her tongue. "My lover, Azphille, she's a demon, if you recall." There was an awkward pause then. "There will be exceptions for trusted demons, of course. Azphille was one of the few good demons." Morgana compromised. "But good demons come few and far between." Kitra hated it but she knew if she pressed too hard...

In the back of her mind Kitra knew she needed to think of a way to continue sending relief supplies from Heaven to Hell. The Onyx Citadel wouldn't survive without it. And so, the meeting was adjourned and Kitra returned to throne room where Gabriel and Celeste hopefully were.

Councilman Onoel rightfully had many concerns with Celeste being appointed the new Libra. Of course it had happened without his knowledge, his mark had dulled and now belonged to Celeste. "Can I see it?" He inquired, holding out a hand. Slowly Celeste took off the gloves, revealing the slightly glowing mark to him. "It's a wonder," he began, "how you came to have it?" Celeste smiled politely, knowing that she couldn't lie. "The One God granted it to me for assisting in the defeat of Thanos," Councilman Onoel's expression was anything but polite. "It's thanks to you that he was in danger in the first place," Gabriel was the one who stood between them now. "Are you suggesting the accusation that Celeste has betrayed the throne?"

"Mere speculation."

"I suggest you take such speculations elsewhere Councilman, the One God himself has appointed Celeste the new Libra and we have no right to dishonor that." Celeste blushed, thankful for her older brother's fierce sense of protectiveness. "Yes your highness," the councilman bowed so low Celeste thought he was going to tumble head over heels onto the ground. "As Libra your responsibilities fall between arguments," he began to explain. "Whenever there's an argument, Libra is the one that has the deciding vote. You favor the scales, weigh each option fairly and choose justly." Celeste listened, this was important after all, this is what her future would look like. "That seems obvious," she said, not trying to sound rude but Celeste was already quite bored with this speech. "Councilman, you're wasting your breath," Gabriel scrubbed a hand over his face, it was clear that he was tired.

The meeting was finally over, Celeste had received quite the deal of information, although none of it useful. "I wish he would have just gotten straight to the point," Gabriel sighed, "that's Onoel for you, now, there's other things to attend to, namely being this closing of the Gate that the Council is trying to enact." Celeste's brow furrowed, "If we cut off aid to the demons, they're not going to outstretch their trust when we need it," Gabriel nodded, "I've been trying to explain that we need to make allies, not enemies, but after the whole Thanos disaster the Council is insisting that we cease any fraternizing with demons." Celeste wanted to hit something, "But Thanos isn't a demon!" It seemed that their cries would fall upon deaf ears, it was up to Kitra to stop it.

"As King, it is my duty to see to the festival preparations," Celeste nodded, she had a feather quill and piece of parchment to take notes. "Should we go to the town then?" Gabriel pulled his jacket on, "I think we could use the fresh air." They took a short stroll out the side of the palace gates, heading to the town center where the New Moon Festivities were already being set up. Colorful booths, the delicious smell of roasting food, games for children, a stage set up in the center where the King would come to make his presentation of the events that marked the year and the things they looked forward to in the next year. "You'll be standing up there," Celeste pointed out the stage where Gabriel walked up the five short steps and stood in the center, swallowing hard. "You'll have to prepare a speech," public speaking was never her brother's strong suit.

❝Truth and lies and everything is reborn.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#8f8c89 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя :#7D65B3

|| Manic || Plumb ||

The plan was that after their respective meetings, Kitra was to meet up with Celeste and Gabriel at the Town Square where everything for the Festival was being set up. Last night, listening to Celeste almost bubble in excitement over something frivolous like a festival... it was going to be an exciting time, definitely. Though a part of it was a little bitter, thinking of the starving children in Hell while angels laughed and played with their excess of food. There really was an imba- okay, maybe now wasn't the time to go into it, especially since she was masquerading as the ancient Princess Orana from the stories and fairytales. She had a feeling that this meeting with the Council had been a fake, the wool over her eyes, to test out the new member. They couldn't be truthful about their real plans, not with a newcomer here that was most likely loyal to King Gabriel more than anyone else.

She was going to have to earn their trust to find out what they were really planning.

In Hell, the front wasn't doing so well. Most especially because a very unexpected thing happened right then and there. "This is Celeste's feather." Raphael warned, sudddenly alarmed. He flew up to Minerva who was leading everyone and coordinating everything. "Minerva, Celeste has a warning, there's an enemy approaching this way!" And that was when someone reached out of a shadow right behind Lilim. It was Maya, who else could it be? "Wait, Lil, what are you doing here? "She asked, suddenly alarmed and alert. "Dad said Celeste and Kitra - no, something went wrong!" But then her eyes hardened, the guilt melting away. "Then there's a change of plans, I'll have to fight you two instead!" Lilim looked like she wanted to call out to her friend but instead she changed her hands into bat claws, her legs into talons, her tail was slashing and flicking, she was ready for a rematch.

But the Festival was already being set up, the New Moon Festival and Kitra wondered not for the first time if this was really where she was supposed to be. Enjoying herself here while her army was fighting and many of them were dying without her, their beloved commander and Queen. WAs it really okay to just be here celebrating while her Kingdom and her family was hard at war? No, she had to remind herself. Here in Heaven, this was just a false peace, this was just as precarious a situation as Hell was. The Council was ruining all the good the Angeals had done in recent years, turning it into a horrible corrupt place where only those with power had any say.

Eventually Kitra found Gabriel and Celeste in the center, both of them seeming more tired than anything. "Sorry, I have arrived. I had gotten lost, it's been quite a long time since I've been back home." While she was here getting ready to - okay, not just getting ready, a light flickered, the festival was almost ready to begin. "I haven't been to many festivals in my day." Kitra-as-Orana said, but this statement wasn't really a lie. "Please, Princess Celeste, would you mind showing me everything?" Careful eyes were watching them if one paid close enough attention, no doubt someone from the Council was going to keep the two lovers under close and careful observation. "King Gabriel, you don't look well, do you wish to take a break?"

To make matters worse Kitra felt heat blossoming up inside of her. She was doing her best not to blush but in reality she just wanted to jump Celty' bones right here and now.

"Ah, Orana, glad to see you've arrived," Celeste turned, surprised to see Kitra there. "Hello Princess," she smiled, feeling her heart flutter. "That's my own oversight, I probably should have escorted you here," it was stupid of Celeste to leave Kitra to find her way to the center of town when the demon had only been here once or twice, then again, Celeste had only been in town a handful of times and she had grown up here. "Well now that you're here I'll help you become more acquainted with the streets," Celeste took Kitra's hand and led her towards what appeared to be a very large scroll hanging from a wooden board."This is a map of Eden's village," she explained, "this is where we are." Celeste pointed to the spot, the town square. "The roads and streets are all in number and letter order, so it's very easy to find your way in and out." Eden had been mapped like this on purpose as it was the biggest city in Heaven, it also needed the most efficient streets and allies.

"No space was wasted in the creation of our home city," it was a little bit of a history lesson as well. "Because of the boom in industry, the city was overpopulated. People were building houses one on top of the other, stacked like precarious decks of cards. Once the laws regulating buildings were put into place, they had to find a way for the entire city to get around, which had to include the less fortunate and illiterate, so they came up with a system that would make sure even the youngest angels would know how to get about their home." Of course the map was in the angelic alphabet, thankfully Kitra knew how to read that. There were also laws in place now that made it illegal to not educate your child, school houses had popped up on just about every street corner and day by day you could find children playing in yards or sitting in circles, reading.

With an educated population, you began to see advances in sciences and arts, that was why the angels were so far ahead. "Of course, not everyone listens to the laws, there are plenty of children that evade school and live life as hooligans," many of these children became fallen later in life, lying, cheating, stealing, killing. No, the angel city was not as pristine as it seemed. "I'll show you around, oh, you're going to love it." Gabriel still had an expression of distinct unease, as though he may crumple off of the stage in a heap at any moment. "Bro-my King, would you like to lay down?" Celeste urged and Gabriel only shook his head, "No, I need time to muse. I'll be back before it's time for the speech."

He hopped off of the ledge and headed down the street, two angels branching off from supposedly regular activities to follow, soldiers in disguise. "Let's start this way," Celeste ushered Kitra down a different street where the carts had begun, already lanterns were filling the cool winter air and the sound of children being released from their school houses was far and wide. "Oh look, they're selling little pastries," it was tradition to consume sweets in honor of a sweet new year.

"It's okay, it's normal that you expected me to have known how to navigate Eden." Luckily she had an excuse, since in the book, Eden was described as somewhat of a slum, where there were too many people crammed up in too small an area and it wasn't safe at all, there were often accidents in which houses pancaked on top of one another because of how carelessly built it all was. "Eden wasn't quite so orderly in my time." She said casually, smiling at Gabriel, the King that didn't want the throne. "You aren't alone, you have us, so that us three Angeals can bring order back to Heaven." Gabriel had a wry smile because she wasn't an Angeal at all... but Kitra meant it. She fully intended on marrying Celeste, so that she could be an Angeal, so that Celeste could be a Vacivus. Two broken families, going together to become one, never whole but at the very least, healed and happy.

Letters and numbers, that was actually a really simple way for things to be. "Back in my time streets were all named after heroes, either those that were great warriors, of Zodiacs, or even those that made great discoveries with charms or technology." At least, according to the books, that's how it was. Kitra wondered how many angels resisted the change because they liked living on the street commemorating their ancestor or a loved one. It was time for a history lesson and Kitra's eyes seemed to sparkle because she loved learning about history, about why things became the way they were. "That's a clever system, was it my father who came up with it?" If not, then it had to be Ezreal's eldest son and Zadkiel's predecessor.

Kitra as Orana was happy for the guidance and so they left Gabriel to try and get inspired for the speech. He was okay with speeches though, he did them before, like with that climactic battle at the Envy Village when they freed Furfur and Ronove from Thanos's torment and control. The real Furfur, not the hallucination that came as a signal of a fit - perhaps it was good that one didn't come anymore either, but it was a bit lonely. "According to Azphille, my lover, Hell's Onyx Citadel was created by Satan. Before his father's rise to power after my time, there was a neutral ground where the seven tribes weren't allowed to hurt one another. To please the other six, Satan's father created a Tower, a neutral place where it no longer mattered what tribe you were from. It became a law then, that every ruler has seven children, and each tribe would get to bless one of the children." That was why Lilim was abducted, Lilith, Kitra's mother, had lost the ability to further conceive after Buer's birth. Of course this meant all of Maya's siblings were killed, an unfortunate and overlooked tragedy.

Rambunctious children were starting to fill the Town Square, spilling in from every which direction. There was one teenaged couple, hardly younger than Kitra and Celeste themselves, they were getting frisky, and then a father came, no doubt the father of the girl, slapping the boyfriend and dragging her away. Kitra went to buy a pastry - but the booth person quickly told her that it was free for her, because she was Orana, quite the famous figure. "Well then, thank you kindly." And handed one to Celeste with a smile, somewhat missing her old rough raspy voice. Some girls were traveling in a group, all dressed up in traditional festival attire, these fancy beautiful colorful robes and Kitra felt as if there was a missed opportunity. "Maybe we should have gotten festival robes for ourselves." The former spider said quietly, Celty would have looked so cute! So beautiful, so luscious, all wrapped up in those colorful robes. "Maybe someone would find you very attractive." She said in a low melodic whisper, voice tickling Celty's ears.

"We'll restore Heaven to it's original state," Celeste smiled, Gabriel gave a small tip of his head to show that he too, was listening. "Yes, well, even if we do restore it I do think it's time to look at some of our laws," he said offhandedly, "especially ones about inter-species love," Celeste blushed at this, wondering what Gabriel could be getting to. It was true that the marrying of Angels and Demons was strictly forbidden a law put into place by the Originals. "I think we could also do to amend some other old fashioned practices, we need to learn to evolve, just like the land." Her heart fluttered anxiously, was Gabriel really suggesting what she thought? "I will continue Michael's work to promote peace and love," her mind flashed back to an event much before this, a similar festival where Michael was planning to introduce them to his fiance, Gabriel having found out it was a demon, practically exploded. Now he seemed to have realized that demons were not the enemy, it was possible to coexist. Perhaps it was because he was foolish enough to fall in love with one?

"We did away with that in the Capital, but in the outlying provinces the streets and towns are still named after heroes." Celeste explained, "It was my Grandfather who came up with the idea, although my Grandmother claims he stole the idea from Obsidian." Her Grandparents had been lively folk, kind souls that had been both softened and hardened by years of war and hardship. They had readily given over the crown to their son and Celeste's Father, Zadkiel. They had both adored Callisto as well since the angel had served underneath Celeste's Grandmother's battalion in the defense against the Gate. Callisto was a powerful angel from a noble house, it had been a great pick for their son who had tried for years and nearly failed to capture her heart.

"Grandpa was fascinated with humans, he wanted to study them but his parents, as he said, beat it out of him and made him suitable enough to marry Grandma, who was Princess at the time." Her Grandfather had been a funny old man that liked to invent tools and gizmos to make everyday life easier, he was credited with many angelic discoveries and advances in charms. "Each King had different ideas about how to make Heaven a great place, but you probably already knew that." She listened raptly as Kitra described the way it worked in Hell, how the Onyx Citadel was the neutral zone for all seven tribes. "So then Azphille had six siblings?" No wonder Kitra had such a big family, but did that mean Celeste was going to have to have seven children?

They took to the streets, the snow lightly dusting surfaces as they walked. People stopped to stare and whisper, it wasn't everyday you saw a ghost after all. "P-Princess," a shopkeeper stuttered, dropping a vase. "Hello Mr. Tonako," she waggled her fingers in his direction and continued walking beside Kitra, her arm looped through Kitra's so as to stay close. "Mmm, it's still warm," the smell of flaky pastries was near irriistable, she was ready to pay for one when the owner of the booth shoved two into their hands and told them there was no need to pay, not when the legendary Princess Orana was there. Celeste smiled, a pang of guilt stabbing her stomach. The two girls turned away, biting into their food. "Oh, festival clothes!" Celeste choked on her food and began to cough.

"This way, quick! I nearly forgot! We need the robes! Oh gosh, how could I let that slip my mind?" Celeste led Kitra away, she had to put on festival clothes- "Princess Celeste! Princess Orana! Thank goodness I've found you two!" Nani had tracked them down, it was just like her. "Come this way, quick, we have to get you two girls dressed before the ceremony." They were shuffled towards a small, unimpressive house that had racks of clothing stacked out front underneath a colorful awning. "In here, come now, don't make a fuss, King Gabriel's already suited up." There were two stalls for the girls to get changed in and Celeste was nearly shoved inside of her's, Nani coming in to help her get dressed.

A few minutes later Celeste stepped out from behind the curtain, adjusting the belt to her dress.

The past, old traditions and values and events were all keys and links to what kind of people lived back then, what kinds of struggles they faced, and maybe there were patterns they could apply from history to help with the future and the present too. Kitra always loved these sorts of things, they were exciting in a way not many things were. "How did they die?" Orana asked. Kitra wasn't sure either, it was probably during the wars, or maybe it was disease? Whatever it was, Celeste's grandparents were around no longer. "That custom of seven children came after us, it was to represent one child for each tribe. Azphille was a daughter of the Greed Tribe's chief." Kitra paused then and then she blushed more than ever before, because a sudden thought went into her head. "B-but I'm sure Kitra would rather adopt seven war orphans." There, was that a quick enough save?

It was time for the festival and everything was heating up, in more ways than one. The pastries were sweet - a bit too sweet but Kitra was Orana so she handled it as best as she could. "Thank you, this was delicious Mr Tonako." Kitra's tongue was better than most demons for angel food, but she still had problems occasionally. At watching the group of women in those brightly colored robes it seemed to remind Celeste that they, too, had outfits they could wear, special for the New Moon Festival. Lead the way, Princess Celeste." Orana was going to have to pretend she already knew all about these sorts of things.

It wasn't long until Kitra-as-Orana was all dressed up. The dress made her feel very blue and her floofy aqua hair was covered nicely with a little tiara reminiscent of Lilim's old princess costumes she like the wear. The dress itself was a neat pale blue, with a glove over her right arm. There was also a choker around her neck and little slits i the back, like with all angel clothing. Because she had six wings there were six openings, letting her wings fan out beautifully behind her. Celeste was very pretty too, dressed in white and pink. "I'm sure your lover would have loved to see." Kitra said with a heavy blush, almost dropping the formal old fashioned speak. "She would definitely want to take you to bed."

She was messing up, Nani gave her a very strange stare because speaking of couples in the bedroom was very much not a proper thing for anyone to do. "You two look great!" Nani exclaimed, deciding to gloss over that little slip up to everyone's relief. "Let's go up on the stage, King Gabriel would want us at his side for his speech for the new year." How was the battle going in Hell? Was everyone okay, were they all alive? The demon was afraid, she felt out of place here, this didn't feel right at all. They couldn't have known that a band of Fallen had bribed their way past Heaven's Gate and were on their way this very moment, to crash the party with torches and bombs.

"Grandpa contracted the light disease from one of his experiments," Celeste explained, "Grandma was around much longer, she passed of old age." While angels could live very long lives, there was, of course, a limit to how long their souls lasted. "Mother thinks that with the passing of Grandfather, Grandmother grew weaker until she could no longer live with the heartbreak of being alone." The two had been sprightly, living well into their hundred's. Celeste hoped that she and Kitra could be that active when they began to get old and their hair became gray and their bones creaked with the frailty of old age. It wasn't something Celeste had ever really thought about, marrying and becoming old and gray with the person you loved. She had been destined to marry a nobleman, but now that it was cancelled, well, Celeste was excited. "There are honorary burials next to each other, hopefully by now their souls have found one another in Obsidian."

Celeste blushed heavily when Kitra mentioned the custom of having seven children. "If Kitra wanted to adopt all seven, I wouldn't mind." She placed a hand on her stomach, "but one or two of my own would be nice." It was another thing Celeste had never imagined happening, getting pregnant. She knew that eventually the nobleman would want to have children, but well, the thought of carrying life inside of her was terrifying. "Not yet of course, I don't think I'll be ready for a long time," after Thanos's violation, it only made sense that Celeste would hesitate to bear anyone. "Kitra's also from the Greed Tribe," it was funny speaking like this, talking to Kitra as though she were not Kitra. Of course anyone overhearing their conversation needed to believe that this was not Kitra, but Princess Orana.

Their dresses were arranged by Nani, the head servant having rushed them to get changed so that they could show up to the ceremony in appropriate attire. "Thank you Nani, I'm not sure how we would get around without you," Nani fixed Celeste's hair, tucking it back behind her ear. "Just do your best up there Princess, you too Princess Orana," Nani stepped back as Kitra stepped out from behind the curtains, wearing a pale blue dress that matched her hair. "You look beautiful," it was a dress Celeste would recognize anywhere, the ceremonial garb of her older sister, Mizuki. It was clear that there had been some adjustments as Mizuki had been a little less lofty in the chest and behind, but more endowed than Celeste had ever been. Her blush returned when Kitra complimented her and Nani smoothed it over with a few words, rushing both girls out the door.

The street was lit by lamps, fires flickering low, casting shadows of angels walking down the streets. "We should head back to the square, King Gabriel will be waiting for us." Celeste led the way, the sidewalks a bit more crowded than before as people were beginning to shuffle along in the same direction for the annual mentions and coming hopes. Gabriel stood tall on the stage, the council arranged behind him. Celeste walked up, cautious not to trip on her dress. "I must apologize for our tardiness, the time simply slipped past me and before I knew it, it was already dark." Gabriel nodded, "please take your place sister and show our honored guest where to stand." Celeste almost took Kitra's hand be instinct, it would have been quite the mistake considering the crowd they were standing before. Instead she gently took Kitra's elbow and pulled her aside to the place they would stand, a bit behind the King.

The blush only got worse right then and there when Celeste more or less announced that she wanted to bear one or two of their future children. What was she supposed to say in response to this? What could she say? Kitra, if she tried to say anything she would likely fumble and stumble over her own words and just embarrass herself. So instead of anything else she just smiled, hoping no one would notice her luminescent cheeks in the dark light of the new moon. "I'm sure you and Kitra will get to live long full lives." She wanted nothing more than to hug Celeste here and now, to hold her as Kitra, not Orana. "And that you'll die together and happy in the end." In the far, far future, after having lived lives to their fullest, they would reach the end. At least, that was the hope, who knows what life has in store in the future?

Here they were at the stage and Gabriel stood, Celeste at his side. "We're all gathered here today, not only because of this festival and all the good food, but because of what this new year represents for all of us." He was dressed up all fancy as well, in the male version of festival robes, adorned and fit for a King. "Last year we've had lots of troubles. Losing our King Zadkiel, losing Princess Mizuki and Crown Prince Michael, and then the recent war with Thanos, it feels as if we haven't had a chance to be at peace for quite a long time." The crowd was silent. "I hope this night can be a hint of the peace that will soon come, and that this year will be happier than- " But he was interrupted by a familiar voice, and lights flared as houses were lit aflame. The Fallen were here.

"You selfish angels, you only care about yourself." Iaoth was here with the Fallen. While the more violent ones were hired to attack the Demon Army in Hell, these ones were also hired to attack here, hired by Morgana of course. Wreck chaos until the people lost all hope in the King - and if possible capture Celeste and Orana, get rid of the extra help King Gabriel brought to Heaven. "There's a war, there's people dying, and you're just here celebrating, selfishly hoping that you'll have happiness on your own." The angels weren't armed, their army was the opposite of prepared, Selene picked up a random stick on the ground and was using it to try and fight. "King Gabriel, Councilors, Princess, please leave this to us, retreat to the Palace!" She called dutifully, glaring at the Fallen that were on the attack.

If the Fallen succeeded in their mission, if the people rebelled and put down Gabriel, renouncing his power, then Morgana offered them a safe place to stay, far away from Satan's current rampaging through Heaven. An arrow was fired, laced with poison, aimed straight at Celeste's heart. "Celeste, be careful!" Kitra allowed her chains to spill from her left sleeve, she let loose a volt of electricity, lighting her weapon up, ready to block the arrow but then another arrow hit it and knocked it off course. A certain angel, almost like a ghost, jumped down and landed with grace. "You're all so useless." The lost Princess Mizuki was here, because her light had been separated from it's human host, she was allowed to manifest for the time being. Fire lit up in her hands as her arrow shone with the strength of the sun. "I'll teach you how to be an Angeal Princess!"

"You both look stunning," Councilwoman Morgana said, a polite smile on her lips. Her eyes gave way to her true emotions, she had nothing dislike for the Princess, the one that had not been executed when she was supposed to. "Thank you Councilwoman, your dress is lovely as well," there was an exchange of bows before the two girls took their place on the stage a bit behind where Gabriel stood, closer than the council, but farther than the King. Gabriel was a marvelous speaker when he wanted to be, although as a child he had always been quiet, his writings was one of the things that Michael and Raphael had teased him senseless about because of his proficiency with the angelic language. One might say they were jealous of the wordsmith who could make any angel swoon, although just being a prince was enough to make the commoners fawn over him.

The speech had begun, Celeste listened with rapt attention, her smile bright at the hope that their future could possibly be full of something that resembled peace. It seemed that the Fallen had other ideas, instead of allowing the angels to enjoy their festival they arrived in droves, the air pressure dropping from the combined force of their wings. Before Celeste could so much as take off her key, an arrow was shot in her direction, which clattered and snapped thanks to Kitra's chains. Celeste took a step back, grabbing her key, the sleeves of her dress throwing her off as the key grew into a scythe. "S-stay away!" The angel raised her weapon, hoping that she looked fierce like her Mother and Sister and not like a rabbit that that was playing soldier.

With a burst of light something appeared in front of them, wielding the weapons she was so famous for. "Mizuki!" Celeste gasped, in awe of her big sister. How had she landed here? Celeste could recall that Kitra had told her Mizuki had appeared during the battle with Thanos, but Celeste was never sure if that was real or a figment of Kitra's imagination. Not that she would ever doubt Kitra, it was just, as someone who had suffered from delusions, Celeste could understand if it wasn't real. "Take cover!" Gabriel called, reaching for his buster sword. With a magnificent burst of light, the rooftop where a few Fallen were standing suddenly broke off, the victims falling. "Soldiers, lead the citizens to safety! Evacuate the city!"

It was painful. There was a battle breaking out, a battle raging, and Kitra couldn't fight the way she loved most, she couldn't rip out her tentacles and her scissor blades and go whirling and slashing like a dervish at all of her enemies, she had a limiter this time. A part of her was suspicious that Celeste had told Raphael to prevent her from using her monster form. After all, unlike angels who could choose when they wanted to die, demons were limited by how much they used their monster. The more they brought that side out, the harder it was to resist the beast that lived inside all demons. And eventually, inevitably, that monster takes over, the sane part of the demon would one day be unable to maintain control. Before the Devoured, Thanos created the demons to be his loyal slaves, but then one day, a brave demon whose name was disappeared from all records, that demon fought back, fought for demon independence. As such, Thanos cursed anyone with demon blood to a monster that wished for blood above all else, and that one day, it was the fate of all demons to give up control to the monster.

The arrow was broken, and another archer appeared in front of Celeste, glowing with heavenly light. "The One God broke a few rules to let me come here." She said with a tricky grin, shooting an arrow that just barely missed Iaoth, her Sagittarius mark glowing with absolute fury. "But I'm here and I'll protect you, sis." Kitra was very confused, she had a whole lot of questions she wanted to ask, but she couldn't, not as Orana. "I dunno who you are, lady." The fire archer said with a rude snort. "But you might wanna keep that scorpion well hidden." And so Kitra glared and pulled her glove back over her mark. Flames erupted in the Town Square as the soldiers headed out - and for some unknown reason Ami and Finn, both dressed up nicely for their date, gave Mizuki horrified stares for a second. "Wh-what are you doing here?" Finn asked and Mizuki grinned. "Don't worry, I ain't a goddess, keep your butt untwisted." It seemed something strange had happened that Kitra wouldn't get to know, but now she wanted to have her chance to shine.

So she electrified her chain and let it whip out like a snake, sparking and hissing as it struck to and fro. Kitra kept herself close behind Celeste, the two of them with their backs to each other as they fought, protecting each other's rears. Iaoth flew right at his targets, the two princesses. "You won't get away this time." He snarled but then one of the generals of the Angel Army burst in, it was the twin brother of the Fallen, Iaoel, with his halberd blocking the hit. "Princesses, get back, my brother is my own burden to take!" There was no brotherly love from Iaoel but someone observing the fallen closely could see a hint of sadness, loneliness, and regret which was quickly masked by feigned hatred. "Get out of the way, the contract says I have to capture them for the sake of all Fallen!"

"Celeste, above you." Kitra muttered quietly, quiet anger seething. And there it was, dragons, except one thing was obvious from the spikes grinding into their necks from the collars. "Enslaved dragons, that's why there's been less of them in the wild." Everything in Kitra wanted to explode out for those dragons but she couldn't, Raphael bound her, clipped her powers. Then the dragons dove down at the commands of their cruel masters, trying to grab as many angels from the ground as they could in order to grind them against walls and kill them gruesomely. One reached for Celeste and Kitra pushed her out of the way, swiping with her chain but not electrocuting it. "I don't want to hurt them." The demon queen admitted, and her voice was shaking either with anger or sadness. Gabriel was fighting bravely but then a dragon was swooping in from behind and that was when Councilman Onoel leapt out, the former Libra, to take the hit, a claw going right through his chest, through the lungs, crushing the ribs.

"I owed... King Zadkiel... a debt." Onoel's breath rattled and wheezed as he was no doubt dying. "I only... hope this is... enough to make.... up for my crimes... Prince Gabriel..."

"Mizuki, look out!" Celeste called, using her scythe to deflect another arrow. Her sister was a whirling dervish of arrows and flames, disappearing into the mass like a cloud of smoke. Celeste's heart fell, it seemed that they wouldn't get to speak, or at least, she believed so until Mizuki returned and declared that she would protect them. "I-I believe you!" Celeste turned back to the battle at hand, she needed to focus on the fight, not the fact that her sister who had been missing for who knows how long had simply appeared before them like a mirage. Her eyes surveyed the landscape, there were fallen inundating the Square in Eden from all directions. Citizens were screaming, children were crying, it was a mass of confusion that seemed to have one general consensus; move. "Princess, please, go this way to safety!" Celeste shook her head, she was done being weak, she wasn't about to back down, not in front of all of these people who had never believed in her.

Ami and Finn rounded the corner, their expressions one of bemusement at the sight of Celeste's older sister, who was grinning madly as she shot at anything that moved. Celeste swiped her scythe at a fallen, her mind flickering through different transformations she could do that would be useful. With a great roar her body began to change, her eyes flickering a multitude of colors before settling on an almost amber. Horn elongated from her skull and her skin seemed to take on an almost scale like texture. A few fallen that watched the transformation back peddled to fight against a different opponent. Celeste grinned, was she really that scary looking? She didn't know, but there was no time for thinking. Her heart raced, her blood pumped, she gave a running leap off of the stage to join Kitra in the fray, the spray of blood making her head spin. There was an occasion before, one not at all similar to this, where Celeste had lost herself in a fight and had accidentally killed someone, this time however, she allowed the blood lust to overpower her.

At Kitra's beckoning, Celeste looked up, her eyes widening as she saw it. Dragons weighed down in heavy chains lumbered through the skies, their eyes looking almost dead. Her heart gave a great lurch, her knees weakening at the sight of the poor animals. "They're endangered," Celeste fumed, "How could they? How could they hurt them?" This only served to usher the anger in further and her fits clenched around her scythe. "I'll kill them!" Celeste screamed, no the dragons of course but the fallen that were hurting them. "I'll kill them, kill them, kill them!" Her chest heaved with the effort of swinging her scythe to and fro. Behind her, Councilman Onoel was struck through with a talon the size of a small dog. Gabriel eased the man to the ground, "You're forgiven," he spoke softly. "Your death will not be in vain."

Celeste was tiring, it was clear that her transformation was taking a lot out of her. Still she fought, a mad laugh escaping her. Her white hair was covered in blood, her ceremonial festival robes torn and bloodied. Her eyes were glowing oddly as she fixed them on the surge of people coming towards her. Something struck her, Celeste didn't even seem to notice. She continued to fight, raising and swinging, slashing her claws and gnashing her teeth. Another roar came from her, Celeste appeared to be losing herself. "Take her down!" Someone shouted and a great many came at her at once.

The battle was breaking out all around them and Kitra felt horribly weak compared to how strong she was supposed to be, using speed and agility and sharp blades to cut through all her enemies one by one. Yes, it would hasten her eventual succumbing to the monster inside of her, but it'd be worth it, after what these horrible creatures did to these poor dragons that probably just wanted to live out their lives in peace. Mizuki' had somehow come back, even if only for now and - oh no, Celeste. "Princess Celeste, don't overdo it, let's just-" But it was too late, Celeste was beyond hearing now, the enslaved dragons was enough to set her off into a rage. Everything was happening, Gabriel's life was just barely saved by someone who had been an enemy for the past week or longer.

Celeste was powerful, so much stronger than Kitra has ever been, even at her peak. As strong as Kitra wanted to be, Celeste was so much stronger in every way. In one way it was a little frustrating because Kitra couldn't protect her anymore - Celty was going to have to be the one to protect her instead... just thinking about that made her feel weird and it wasn't exactly a bad thing. "Celty, you need to-" And then a flaming arrow shot at her, almost like a warning of her disguise. So the demon shook her head and lashed with her electrified chain and then hopped up onto the roof. Enemies were flocking all over Celeste and Kitra had to make Celeste snap out of it! Too many Fallen, too many dead in every which direction, the former Demon Queen had only one priority. Keep Celeste safe. Celty was out of control now, if she wasn't careful she would end up hurting someone she never intended to.

Iaoth and Iaoel were locked in deadly combat, but the Fallen was losing. While Iaoel was fighting with all of his fury and rage, Iaoth seemed almost sad as he went face to face against his brother who once loved him so dearly. "You know, ever since you stole Ina from me, I should have known we'd be enemies." The angel brother snarled, trying to kill his brother. "I loved her, and then you stole her heart before I could do anything." Iaoth's eyes glossed over and he seemed almost like he wanted to cry. "I loved her too, brother." The Fallen said quietly. And Iaoel fought even harder, swinging his weapon faster and stronger than before. "If you loved her." Iaoel hissed. "Then kill yourself, here and now!"

And so the Fallen did just that, he swung his weapon at his own throat - but that was when at Gabriel's orders, Ami appeared, grabbing and twisting his arm behind him. "Not so fast, King Gabriel's got a whole lotta things he wants to ask ya!" The shadow puppeteer said with a grin. "Fallen, we got your mouthpiece, so just surrender! You can't win anymore! If you surrender we'll let you live!" And so the Fallen, one by one, lowered their weapons. "And free your dragons as well, dragons deserve better than to be slaves." Finn added in a not-as-confident voice. Kitra was clinging to Celeste, almost shouting into her ear. "The fight, it's over now, you need to turn back into an angel or else everyone will be scared of you again! You did good, but you have to take control of yourself now and get healed up!" A small electric shock would hopefully be the push Celty needed back into sanity.

Those poor creatures, it broke Celeste's heart. Those dragons with chains around their necks, with irons clamped around their will. Who dare thought they could capture those beasties and enslave them? "Let. Them. Go! There was a puddle at her feet, her boots were soaked through with glimmering crimson stains that Nani was going to have a tough time getting out. They were weighing her down, so Celeste did the natural thing and discarded them, running into the snow with no regard for the broken glass or wires on the ground. "Take cover!" Something exploded beside her, but it hardly seemed to deter the angel. Her wings had become strange, the texture having changed to one almost of leather with little spikes along the spine. The pupils in her eyes had narrowed to near slits, if she kept going, well, things might get much, much worse.

The fallen had surrounded her, but before Celeste could react someone had grabbed her and sent a shock along her arm. She screamed and thrashed, swinging her scythe, just narrowly missing Kitra. The angel let out another roar, the remaining conscious in the back of her head was slowly getting swallowed. "Move," Gabriel had seen this once before, he knew what to do. He didn't use his blade, but instead blinded Celeste with light and used the blunt side of his sword to knock her out. She crumpled cold to the ground, her scythe clattering from her hands and returning to its original size. She seemed to shrink in that pile of snow, her body sizzling with waves of heat from having been a dragon so long. Her breathing came out in small, laborious bursts and it was hard to tell if she had lost more blood than she gained. "Take her back to the palace. Now." Slowly, faces began to reappear, the people coming to see what had happened; well, the ones that hadn't fled but instead hid in their homes.

"It's not safe yet!" Gabriel bellowed, "clear the area! I want a search set up of any remaining fallen!" The soldiers that remained standing and uninjured were already carrying out the orders being given, setting up perimeters, cleaning up the dead. He too, had blood splashed across his moon festival robes. He wouldn't appear at the castle again until late at night, there was a lot of work to be done, but when he finally did come home Celeste had yet to awaken and he needed an audience with Kitra. They weren't in the throne room, but a different, smaller one. Gabriel did not take a seat, Ami and Finn were guarding the doors. "This is why I didn't want her to fight, this is exactly why she isn't supposed to be out there!" It was clear that he was frustrated, that he felt as though every move he was making was the wrong one. "Celeste has no control, you saw her out there, she was a monster."

"She can't fight again, it was too close today." After a beat or two, Gabriel finally collapsed into a chair. "You think she's strong, but she's uncontrollable. Kitra, it is now more than ever Celeste is going to need your protection, now that they've seen what she's capable of." He leaned forward, "you're strong, probably one of the best fighters I've ever seen, Hell will be lucky to receive you as their Queen once more."

Demons were raised to view strength as beautiful, as something to be admired and Kitra couldn't help but have her breath taken away at the current Celeste. Even if it was bad for her, even if Celeste was hurting herself, there was a sort of beauty here that Celeste only very rarely exhibited, an overpowering show of mighty force no one could hope to hold down and prevent. Celeste as a dragon was breathtaking, it was amazing, in so many ways she wanted to just stare and watch forever. "Snap out of it, idiot." Mizuki suddenly flew in next to her, her bow glowing with energy that it didn't before. "Yes, she's hot to you, fine, but don't you see that this is bad for her? If you want us to hand Celeste to you, you better know when to take care of her." Well, that was enough to snap Kitra to attention but then there was a flash of light and Celty was knocked out, the battle was over now.

Both Gabriel and Mizuki were berating her then and the Council was staring oogly eyed at the fact that Mizuki was back after so long. Even in the past, Mizuki was always the sibling that was the hardest for them to control. She never cared about the rules, always did things whatever she wanted, screw the consequences! And so it was very bad for the Council that she was back, even if it was only for a short while. "You're doing a pretty crappy job, even after I saved your butts way back when." She whispered and Kitra had to keep on her calm face because she wasn't Kitra, not with the Council looking. She was Orana, that was the face she had to wear.

They went back to a smaller room, letting Selene and Ami and Finn take care of the aftermath. Celeste was too weak to fight now, she was injured badly and Nani had to tend to her wounds because once again, Lilim was somewhere else, dealing with a different problem in Hell right now, a problem involving a roll of gum, two poisoned pears, and a bomb made of dragon's bone. "She was beautiful." Kitra muttered and then Mizuki shot her a very poisonous glare and it was clear Gabriel was still in shock that his long lost sister was finally back. "Can we train her to recognize the signs and hold it in?" Because something like that, demons could really relate to a lot.

"You all know about demons and their inner monsters, right? How they're always trying to break out, so we're always needing to be on guard to hold it in and stay sane?" Even now there was the mental dull roar of the spider trying to burst out and attack everyone, it was only due to Kitra's own will that kept her in control of the body. "Instead of formal education, most demons go to school to learn how to control it. What if I put Celty into a similar program, would that help her stop this from happening again?" At least to her, it seemed like a similar sort of idea.

"We've tried those method," Gabriel scrubbed a hand over his face. "The problem is, is that when she turns, the urge of the animal takes over. You've probably seen it before," he looked up at Kitra, dark circles underneath his eyes. "As a mouse she was skiddish, as a kitten probably devious and brave. There's no real way to pon point it because when the change happens, it becomes a different animal." To train herself against all of those things would be an impossibility. "Thanos may have been onto something, as much as it pains me to admit it." He had been the closest to getting it under control, they just needed to know how he had done that. "Kitra, you were there, what methods did he us?" Finn asked, stepping away from the door as it was clear that no one was coming. Ami hung back, just in case. It would do them no good for a council member to walk in here at this time and hear the things they were conversing of.

Both mentally and physically, Kitra was much stronger than Celeste, it was only thanks to her angelic gift that she could ever hope to overpower the others. "Celeste can't fight again," you could tell by the tone of his voice that it was the bottom line. "King Gabriel, I think you should head to bed," Ami said gently, "you're tired, it's been a long day for everyone." Gabriel shook his head, standing. "My people need me, I can't rest in their time of need."

"The people need a King with a clear head and one night's sleep, go to bed." Gabriel turned to Kitra one last time, "keep in mind the things we discussed, don't let her transform again until we've come up with a solution." With that Gabriel bade them goodnight, he needed the rest, it was a good thing he had finally succumbed to the shadows beneath his eyes and the sleepiness pulling at him in every which direction. Upstairs, Celeste was just rousing, groaning from both pain and soreness. She wasn't as injured as she could have been, mostly just sore with scrapes and gashes. Her feet was where it was the worst, the bottoms of them had been bloodied by bits of broken glass and protruding wire.

"Mmm, what happened?" Her eyes blinked slowly, they returned to their original crimson color. "Princess, oh, thank goodness!" Nani flung herself to Celeste's side, there were tears in her eyes as though she had been very afraid that Celeste wouldn't wake up. "Thank the stars, oh my Lord, don't move, don't try to move, it must hurt, hang on, I'll go find Kitra." The flurry of sound to her sensitive ears was enough to make her wince. Celeste sat up slowly, her wounds were already on the mend thanks to the fact that she was in Heaven and thus the light went easily to her body. It would still take time, maybe a day or two until she was in top shape once more.

So they wanted to ask about... about what Thanos did, was that it? It was painful to admit it, but he did have it under control, or as close as can be. But there was an obvious problem with whatever solution Thanos had, wasn't there? "I don't really remember it easily, I wasn't fully conscious either, right? Thinking about that time is like trying to think into a fog." Maybe with effort, but at least at the moment it was nigh impossible to fierce the fog blocking her memories. Gabriel seemed a bit crestfallen so Kitra sighed and continued. "But I know for sure it has something to do with curse magic. I can try to find out, but I'll have to pay my life energy as a price." That's how it works, after all. "But if it meant Celty's safe, I don't mind paying the cost." Because this was true love.

It was time to go then but Mizuki suddenly pulled her to the side, seemingly intent on having some kind of talk. "So, I disappear and then I come back and everything's turned to shit, is that what you're trying to tell me?" The purple eyed angel asked with a very pointed glare. "Some chick named Maya thinks she can do what she wants, the old Demon Emperor is trying to regain his throne, the Angel Court's so corrupted that they've got sticks up eachtother's butts. So tell me, Kitra, why did you all just let this happen?" Kitra grit her teeth at this infuriating angel, she wasn't here, she didn't know how tough it was. "If we didn't go to the Flowersea, Celty and I would be dead." The archer nodded but waved it off, as if she knew that already "But at the cost of how many lives?"

Kitra left then but Mizuki's last words were haunting her. "Once peace is here, do enough good to make up for the lives it took to let the both of you live." Mizuki said and it was too late to keep talking to who was likely one of her biggest enemies. Nani was here, a big smile on her face. "Anora, she's awake, Celeste is awake now, you should come and talk to her!" And that was exactly what Kitra did, dashing as fast as she could back to the medical room where Celeste lay. "You're awake, geez, you everyone. No more fighting for you unless you really wanna get hurt worse and make people worry, okay?" She nuzzled her head on Celty's filled with love in her eyes. "Take care of yourself better."

There was no need to tell Celeste about her possibly needing soul magic to save her. That would cause nothing but guilt and stress. So instead the demon had another idea. She was already all bathed and dressed after that battle, of course, otherwise she'd be filled with blood. "It'll cost a bit of energy but let' do it." And so Kitra drew the circle and summoned it, a communication circle, with Lilim and Raphael on the other end. Their battle was over too, judging from the Onyx Citadel in the background. "Celeste, Kitra, it's been a long time!" Lilim giggled and Raphael stared. "Kitra who? I just see this blue angel here, what's a Kitra?" So the demon mimed smacking him in the mouth. "Don't." She growled. "Celty, wanna tell them about the surprise?" Said surprise being Mizuki's return, after all.

"We'll think of something else then," if Celeste found out that Kitra was using life energy to try and control her, well she wouldn't be happy. "There has to be another way," Finn mused, "I'll start looking," and he too, went off, Ami close at his heels. They would all look, knowing that Celeste wouldn't have it if it meant that she had to live for even a second without the girl she loved. It was crazy what one's heart could drive one to do. How one moment, you could simply go on existing and the next, cannot live without the presence of another. Perhaps love was the most dangerous thing of all, it could build nations, crumple alliances, cripple the most powerful of beings. These examples could be seen throughout history, dating back as far as the One God and Thanos themselves. Love was what the brothers used to have, until something got between them and made them separate, one creating angels and the other demons. One treating his people with kindness and grace, the other using his people as slaves to carry out his will.

The curtains in the room rifled, Celeste turned to see Kitra coming, her gaze full of worry. "I'm sorry," Celeste frowned, "I didn't mean to scare anyone," she looked around the room, then back at the two worried eyes that could belong to no one but Kitra. "Fighting? Was that what happened?" She leaned her head back against the pillow, "I can't really remember what happened," Celeste mused, her cheeks heating when Kitra nuzzled her head affectionately against the angel. "I recall standing on the stage and then an explosion," after that her memory was hazy, she could feel distinct rage and a possible struggle. "I'll try," Celeste smiled up at her, feeling more relaxed now that Kitra was here.

"Yeah, I'd like to speak to them." It was about time they spoke to Raphael and Lilim, especially after how today went. Almost instantly Lilim and Raphael began to tease Kitra on her appearance, which Kitra warned them to put an end to. There was no telling who could walk in at any moment, so it was smarter to keep things on the down-low. "Um," Celeste tilted her head to the side in confusion, "oh, oh right!" She sat up in bed and winced, she needed a shower. "Mizuki's back!" At this information, Raphael nearly bowled over. "What?" His chair toppled, he was leaning so close through the communicator that he had become blurry and out of focus. "What do you mean she's back?" He was clearly hurt that his own twin sister didn't drop by for a visit, not that she had the time.

"Um, maybe you should explain? My memory is sort of hazy," Celeste admitted sheepishly and looked down at her toes, which were wrapped in bandages. "Also, do you think we could go up to my room? The smell in here is making my lungs hurt." The room smelled like floor cleaner and sterilization, neither particularly pleasant. Celeste much preferred her room, which was cozy. Just the thought of returning there and laying in her own bed was enough to make her feel warm, especially with a certain someone beside her.

It was always going to be like this, wasn't it? Kitra was always going to be the one to worry and fret for Celeste, and Celeste would always be pampered and spoiled and filled with love. Celty just seemed built to make people worry about her, the way she was as meek as a little kitty, or how she could be as reckless and in danger as a rampaging dragon. "Making people worry is one of your charms, you shouldn't apologize for that." Kitra bent down to kiss Celeste on the lips, savoring the taste. "Once you're better, let's give you another douse of Heaven, hmm?" Speaking quietly of course, hoping no one could hear because it was public knowledge that Orana and Azphille were lovers, just as how Celeste and Kitra were nearly obsessed with one another. She explained the fight, about Celeste's rampage because of the enslaved dragons, she explained how the battle ended, and Iaoth was now imprisoned, awaiting sentencing.

"Don't worry, Gabriel set free the dragons and is nursing the ones that are too injured to move." Of course leaving out the detail that it was Celeste that dealt those wounds in the first place. Okay, he wasn't actually doing the nursing himself but he set up a barn for the injured dragons to be fixed up and set back into the wild, away from the conflicts of angels and demons and fallen. "We won, but I guess you already knew that." With explanations done, Raphael and Lilim were called and they were quick to make the receiving magic circle. It was a rune specific to the Vacivus family, only those specifically taught by Lucifer could use it, so it was a good channel for private talks. Of course anyone with the user could listen and talk into it as well.

Mizuki was back! Lilm's eyes went wide and then she grinned slowly, her whole face lighting up with delight. "You know, back during my crisis, Mizuki and I predicted you guys would break up because Kitty blamed herself too much and you didn't think you were good enough for her, Celty." She made a nervous, guilty sort of wiggle and lowered her head. "But I'm so happy you two proved me wrong! "Apparently the One God had to bend a rule to allow Mizuki to be here, it's probably just to help out here until the Council's dealt with." She paused, thinking. Should they tell Raphael the truth, that Zadkiel wasn't really dead?

In the end, Kitra figured that the angel deserved to know, because he was an Angeal, after all. Technically, Lilim also was an Angeal. "King Zadkiel, he's not really dead, it's the Council's trick. That's why his name didn't come up at the Meeting." Both Raphael and Lilim were surprised and then Lilim was relieved and Raphael was angry that the Council had the gall to pull such a dirty trick. "We're dealing with it." Oh, right, something else needed to be said, this one specific to Lilim. "Oh, we found the other Taurus contender. She's an angel, goes by the name of Fiona, Lil." And instead of cracking a joke, the succubus just nodded seriously. "I'll face her when I'm ready." She said, no hurry to really become a Zodiac. "I got stuff to do here first. We, um, we managed to defend the Sloth Village, but Minerva got hurt pretty bad. Satan's gonna attack again tonight and we won't be able to stop him from taking it." Raphael nodded, his mouth a thin grim line. "Don't take too long in Heaven, we don't know how long we'll hold out, guys."

Raphael's reaction to Mizuki still being alive was one of joy, when his twin sister had gone missing, it was as though a piece of him had died. Twins worked best when they were together and Raphael and Mizuki were no exception. Water and fire, they were a powerful combo. For a while everyone expected them to be the next Gemini, but instead they received different marks, no longer bound to each other and while upsetting, they made do with the situation. There was hope in Raphael's eyes, hope that he would get to see Mizuki before she disappeared again. "I knew she was alive, I knew it," his eyes had that spark in them, the one that had been lost when Mizuki vanished, a part of something bigger than anything the angels and demons could comprehend. The Divine Stars was a secret, one that not even Zodiacs were supposed to know about. It was a surprise that Kitra wasn't one of them, all things considered.

"We'll save Papa, don't worry," Raphael nodded, fuming. "I believe in you," it made Celeste's heart warm to hear that someone believed in her ability. In the past her siblings would have pushed her to the side and told her to let them take care of it. "Just hold on a little longer, we'll try to wrap this up." It was late, they should have been sleeping by now but there were other things to discuss. For example, the fact that the other Taurus competitor was an angel named Fiona. Lilim was in no rush to prove herself this time, she was going to do it smartly rather than go head in like she had with Maya. That was about all they had to report, it was about time to say goodnight. "See you soon, keep holding on." It was a good thing they had ended it, Ryker came in not two minutes later to check on her. "Princess, good, you're awake." He gave a quick bow to Princess Orana and straightened.

"How are you feeling?" Celeste groaned, "Sore," she admitted. "I'd imagine, luckily it seems you're healing and there was nothing worse than scratches." That was good to hear, no internal bleeding, it meant that she would heal up right quick. "I recommend staying off your feet for the next day or so, it seems the injuries were their worst there." Celeste nodded at this news, her feet and legs were heavily bandaged. "Celeste, I think you should stay away from fighting, do not transform again until there is a way to control it." She nodded once more, "I've already been advised against it," she leaned back against the pillow, there wasn't enough room for both her and Kitra on this tiny bed. "Would it be alright to return to my room? I'd feel much more relaxed there," she admitted and Ryker nodded. "The comforts of home are ones that have good psycological effects so I see no reason not. Would you like for me to call Nani with a wheelchair?" Celeste nodded, wincing as she sat up once more.

Ryker disappeared behind the curtain, the clicking of his shoes disappearing behind the closed door of the med ward. "That was close," Celeste murmured. Doctor Ryker didn't know that Orana was actually Kitra, had he walked in on their conversation he would have been able to puzzle out the truth. "As much as I like Doctor Ryker and as many times as he's saved me, I don't know if we can trust him." There was no telling what the Doctor was doing behind closed doors. It was better to be safe than sorry, especially when it came to the puddings the council had their thumbs in.
