History: When Alex was seven, his mother died. His once-beloved father went out every night, got drunk and then came home and beat him. Alex often ran away and did everything out of his way to avoid his father or at least ease out the pain. He was often caught stealing, gambling, and causing all sorts of havoc. On Alex's eighth birthday his father in his drunken state said he had enough of his. He left a few permanent marks on both his right eye as well on his left arm and then told him to leave and never come back. Alex grew accustomed to the street-life within the next two years, and also grew a few hobbies he didn't think he would ever have developed before. He loved singing, writing, playing guitar, and especially painting. Every once in a while he was able to sell his paintings, but not many people wanted to get stuff from a dirtily-dressed guy. To support himself otherwise, he got stuck into stealing and gambling (which he was already doing otherwise). Most men suspected he would be a bad gambler, judging his age, but he had learned all of the secrets to so many card games that he could probably win a man with his eyes closed.
Despite Alex's years in the streets, he never learned how to keep himself out of trouble. He had so many encounters with the police as well as numerous men trying to kidnap him. Alex also had trouble hiding his scars, as many people assumed he was a gang member after seeing them. This led to him becoming very embarrassed of them, and always wearing long sleeve shirts and sometimes even eye patches. One day, as a teen, he met the two friends who would set the course of him life. Penelope, who was the same age as Alex, approached Alex with ease, desperate to meet someone new. A friendship quickly blossomed between the two and Alex may have even developed feelings for her. Penelope's brother, Zachariah, took a little more effort to befriend due to his shyness. However, over time Alex became very close to him and felt like Zachariah was his own brother. Alex had taught them the ways of a street child as they were quite new to it when he met them. He eagerly joined them on the circus train, however found the hours on it monotonous and boring and whenever the train stopped he would disembark and stay out for hours or even sometimes days.
Personality:Alex can often come off as rude, which is normally his intent anyways. He is not shy to speak out, which can often lead him into lots of trouble. He's quite the flirty and chatty (plus annoying) boy also. Alex unfortunately suffers from a gambling addiction as well as being a stealer. When Alex's cheerful, he's handsome, bubbly, and quite funny. When he's angry, he might still be bubbly and funny but he'll also act unforgiving and stubborn. Alex isn't shy about his appearance other then his scars, however sometimes he steals fancy clothes just to impress his friends.
