Introduction
They see each other almost every week, when they go hunting for food. I wouldn't say they become friends, but they learn to grow a mutual agreement when it comes to hunting. The roleplay is pretty much how their friendship starts to grow, along with the quickly approaching war between their home tribes.

And below, at the edge of the bank, the robust neck of a horned Ovis bowed to drink. It was a relaxed act, to refresh himself as tendrils of light glinted over his curled horns. Wanton of these, more than any other part, Menita’s dark grey eyes scrutinized what distance remained between her and the prey. It was short, a manageable leap from her elevated position, hovering at an angle that kept her veiled in a Langui bush. The perfume of its milk white flowers summoned—alas—the instinct to sneeze.
It broke the peace. Startled, the Ovis sensed a betrayal in his surroundings and in the same leap of his cloven heels Menita sprang from her own. A novice mistake could not cost her this quarry, those long amber horns were a pair without rivalry in past encounters of an Ovis male. Its dark blue pelt rippled, hind legs pumping. It two strides they were over the creek and ascending the other bank, a much steeper angle to climb. The sharp hill took Menita for a challenge, but none the less she met the top quickly, just a stretch behind the animal now.
In the jungle they whistled through, under the trills of paradise songbirds and calling howlers whose fists pumped the air. Man! Man! Man they called to the rest of the forest, a female child of human blood. Her lineage, by the dark violet ribbons of her tightly woven breast plate, must come from the womb of Sustiva Valley. Most definitely, for those that admired the valley’s lustrous Sustino vine could not mistake the same vivid purple to appear in any other blossom.
As the vines of her territory, Menita was tangling in and out of obstacles the Ovis continued to plummet through with intent. There in their paths the dips of sudden ditches or the hurdle of fallen trees that took every ounce of muscle for the limber girl to leap. She was by no means tall or thick, but the lithe contours of her vessel did what they were motivated for. In her instinct they flexed, in her spirit they pumped, and in her exasperation they perspired in hopes to cool Menita’s fervent desire. It was for the misfortune of the Sustiva girl, that in her zealous nature she lost track of where the Ovis was leading her. It was no longer a neutral region of the jungle that this animal now ran in, not that it would know the difference. Opportunities to lose a predator and escape exist anywhere within the jungle—it was an environment thriving on opposition. The threat of hostility grew though, as Menita unwittingly crossed over into the lands hunted—and hunted skillfully—by an opposing, competitive tribe.

Dyrek sucked in breath, eyes hesitant, eventually deciding to defy his father's wishes. If it was for food, his father would understand, he decided. He would only be gone momentarily, and if anything were to happen, he was at least strong enough to defend himself. He began pushing tree branches past him, and the long, untamed jungle grass tickled the bottom of his ankles as be began to run. He slowed to a stop a few miles later, eyes perched on a passing tree when he saw a blur of movement. He instinctively pulled an arrow head from behind him, pulling it into the bow and aimed it steadily in its direction. A light colored squirrel stared back at him, eyes frightened as it quickly scurried down the trunk of the tree onto the jungle floor in an attempt to escape. Almost immediately, Dyrek moved his elbow down, letting the arrow go. The squirrel let out a yelp. Bulls eye.

She stood over the animal, limbs quivering still as her heels planted on either side of the horned creature. Her hand smoothly revealed a small knife, the other grabbing the left horn in a manner that pulled back the head. Its neck exposed without much more in defiance or fear, the animal accepted defeat as her blade ran the vital course. Warm, thick blood curdled from the throat as the ovis was still intoxicated with fear and exhersion.
Always accepting the entire animal, the young Sustiva wiped her knife in a large leaf and tucked it back into its pocket before heaving the bloated ram up into her arms. It would have been the wiser to bring an animal familiar on this trip for assistance but Menita hadn't planned on catching prey this big. It would weigh her down on the walk home.
With much effort she began to turn around and make her way back, trying to find her bearing now amongst the jungle. Her almond shaped eyes were canary yellow, glassing decisively over the foliage to figure out her distance from home. There was the vermillion hibiscus, a vulnerable sprouting of weeping bells on the forest floor, and then she eyed a cluster that left her unsettled. True and vibrant in the sun, beneath an opening of canopy, sat a thriving cluster of carnivorous Heliaphora. Her expression of ease twisted in severity within the shadows; they were bright red urns that were the omen for their rival's territory.
There was a change in the air, perhaps out of a rise in guard Menita felt it send vibration up her slender spine but it felt very real to be scared. Her attention darted in several directions until it the truth was given--a man. A young, formidable stranger his form came out from behind a draping of tropical wysteria. Menita's muscle flexed but she knew given the ovis, it would be folly to run. He didn't seem to notice her or the ram burdening her arms. Would he see her? She tried to take the chance of his ignorance by slipping from the open view behind the thick trunk of a fig tree, blood dripping from the severed throat and spotting along the tangled roots.

Re: [OOC] Tales of the Wild: A Forbidden Connection
All right, among other things, excited to start! If I can, I will post a bare bones character sheet right now, get my IC post up, and develop my profile for her more later when I'm more awake and alert. It's pretty late here. I wouldn't be up though if I didn't have Thursday off so, it's all good.
Away I go!
