Introduction

Theme- The Wings of Icarus

The year is 2115, the earth has changed greatly, technology has evolved as it naturally does. Ten years ago, a game developing company known as Northern Wind began development on a game that would change the world forever. This game was known as Project Alpha, the idea behind the game was to have monsters fight each other. However unlike games in the past, this game would not be virtual. Northern Wind wanted to create the ultimate gaming experience one that you could have daily. Their plan was going along perfectly until politicians began bombarding them with questions about safety, the project was almost shut down until corporate executives began to see the possible profits they could make off of this game. using under the table deals and a little blackmail the game was allowed to continue. Three short months after the possible cancellation, Project Alpha was announced to the general public.

Most were skeptical at first, they wondered if it was safe allowing the beings created for Project Alpha into their lives. It only took a few months and almost everyone was hooked on this game. Everywhere you go children and adults would walk around with what the creators of Project Alpha called, "Demons," They were genetically engineered beings that were breed for two things, being pets and fighting. A year after the game's release it was renamed, Tamer Wars, this was to give the public a feel for what this game was really about taming the Demons and having them fight in regulated battles. Tamer Wars was eventually a world wide success and a tournament held by Northern Wind was started, The Tamer League, this tournament was open to players from all over the world. It was successful because it was shown world wide, viewer would cheer for those competing for their country. This game had become the Olympics of gaming.

The time for the Fifty fourth Bimonthly Tamer League is soon to arrive. Players from around the world are preparing to have their chance in the sun. Will the champion be you?

Welcome to the world of the tamer.

Plot

First let me say that this story is an idea I had for a short story, however i realized that this story could make an interesting Roleplay and I can make my short story the back story to this Roleplay. Now that I have said that, down to business. This Roleplay will revolve around the Tamers/Players of this game, some may be champions who are looking for another victory, while others may be newbies looking to make a name for themselves. This Roleplay will be kind of dark as you might have been able to tell from the introduction. This may be about a game, but not everything's about a game is unicorns and rainbows(sorry couldn't think of anything good to say.)

Setting

Our setting is a fictional city called Star City, it is given that name because the advertisements and buildings that litter the city are so bright that you can not see the stars, so artificial stars have been created. I will add information about the city here as/if the Roleplay goes on. The city can be created by all of us, so please try to be descriptive as you write so we can shape this city together.

Information about Tamer Wars

Seeing as the game is a big part of the story, I will go into as much detail as I possibly can about the mechanics of the battle system and the General need to know about the game itself. - As a warning, I am running on like three hours of sleep and may be forgetting things, please tell me if there is something you want to know that isn't here and it will be added.

Demons- First I will talk about Demons, this is the name given to the creatures created for Tamer Wars. Demons are genetically engineered beings, they were created in Northern Wind's labs. They are much stronger than normal animals, they take many different forms, some humanoid and others so abstract you can't tell what they are. Demons have two functions, the pet and fighter function. As a pet they will act like any normal pet, all of them have their own unique personalities and they will show when acting as pets. Each demon has an element(check below) these elements all have their weaknesses and strengths knowing them can help a tamer win the battle. All Demons speak with their Tamers telepathically, it happens when the Tamer makes a bond(Check below) However some demons are capable of speaking without the use of telepathy. A demon can not and will not attack a human who is not a enemy tamer, it is deep within their minds and can not be overwritten. Demons can be found in one of two places, Tamer stores(check below) or Demon reservations. (check below) A tamer who wins the Tamer league is allowed to request their own demon free of charge, the cost of a custom demon is anywhere for two thousand to twenty five thousand dollars.

Tamer Battles- Tamer battles are done with the Tamer(player) and three Demons of their choosing a Tamer uses their Tamer gauntlet(check below) to call their Demon, the Tamer can call all three at once or wait and call them in whatever order he or she wants. When a Demon is called it is locked, meaning that it has been chosen for the battle and must battle until it is defeated, when all three demons are chosen the selected team can not be swapped out meaning the three you pick are the only demons you get. A battle is won when the enemy Tamer is defeated, through submission or knock out. Tamers are able to defend themselves using the abilities, weapons, and armor(check below) of their class(check below)

Battle ground- The battle ground is where all the action of a Tamer Battle happens, battle grounds are interactive holograms that create large areas to battle. No one ever knows what the battle ground will be, it can be an area that will help one side and weaken the other or it can weaken or strengthen both.

Element- Each demon has an element, the elements are

air, earth, water, fire, lightning, darkness, light, Each has their strengths and weaknesses.

Air > Water / Air < Earth,Fire
Earth > Air, Lightning / Earth < Water
Water > Fire, Earth / Water < Air, Lightning
Fire > Air / Fire < Water
Lightning > Water / Lightning < Earth
Darkness = Light
Light and Dark are considered the strongest elements, they are only weak to each other, but they are also strong against each other.

Type- A demons type is how they attack, the types are melee( close range attacking), Magic(Mid range/long range attacking), Ranged(long ranged attacking), Hybrid(mixes two of the types)

Battle level- The battle level of a demon shows how powerful the demon's skills are, Battle levels range from 1-500, 1-100 is ranked at a novice level, 101-200 is average level, 201-300 is intermediate/above average level , 301-400 is expert level, 401-500 is champion level. A demon's battle level goes up after each battle, no matter the outcome.

Win, Novice-5, Average-10,Intermediate-15, Expert- 20, Champion-25

Lose,Novice-2,Average-4,Intermediate-6,Expert-8,Champion-10

When a Demon's level reaches 500 it will stop gaining battle level points, the battle level of a Demon is not always the deciding factor it comes down to planning and skill.

Bond- A bond is the connection made between a tamer and his/her demons. This bond is created by defeating the demon and then binding it to the Tamer gauntlet. This demon then becomes one with its tamer allowing them to plan strategies telepathically.

Tamer Gauntlet- A tamer wears a silver gauntlet which will display a hologram of the Demons they have. They can select the demon they want and it will Call the demon to the Tamer. What the Gauntlet does is teleport the Demon from one location to another. The gauntlet is also used for creating a bond with a demon, the gauntlet will take in the demon and teleport it to the location the Tamer decides they wish all of their demons to be. Most Tamers choose to put them in a reservation for demons with tamers however others choose their home as the place for their demons.

Tamer Stores- A tamer store is where a tamer can get everything they need, Tamer gauntlet, weapon, armor, and demons. A tamer can buy their demon for a set price, the lower the price the lower the battle level of the demon.

Demon reservations- These areas are where Demons are allowed to roam free, Tamers can go to Demon reservations for a small fee, they can battle whatever Demon they wish and make bonds with it if they manage to defeat it. No demon reservations are the same and the types and elements you will find vary.

Class- to allow tamers to fight along side their demons, special armor and weapons had to be created. depending on which a tamer uses they are considered a specific class. the classes are

Warrior- They are the lead, they charge in first and ask questions later.

Mage- calm and calculating, they perform range attacks to keep their enemy on their toes and away from them.

Assassin- They are quick and agile, they use their speed to their advantage. they try their best to be the only ones getting any hits in.

Ranger- They use special bows and arrows or guns to take down their enemy, if you get hit and don't know where the attack came from your dealing with a ranger.

Battlemage- This class is new to Tamer Wars, they are a mix of warrior and mage, however because of that they are weaker with both. However they make up for it with their explosive mixed attacks. Battlemages are to be feared because of their mixed abilities, you never know what they will do.

Fighter- They fight using special gloves, gauntlets and or boots that enhance their fighting skill. Fighters are the type to charge in and take down the enemy, they know how to get the job done.

Trapper- Trappers are exactly what their name suggests, they trap their enemies using the terrain to their advantage. special explosives are their weapons of choice, the trapper is very effective in large Battle grounds, however they can be just as deadly in small areas. a trapper always has something lying in wait.

abilities/weapons/armor- Each class has their own set of abilities, warriors have their strength, mages have their magic, assassins have their speed and stealth, rangers their enhanced sight, battlemages their strength and magic, fighters have their speed and agility and Trappers their ingenuity. However every tamer has an ability a skill that makes them unique, a signature move, a calling card..whatever you call it each tamer has it, it is a skill that can get them out of a jam or just put the enemy on the ropes.
Weapons for each class differ, but what they all have in common is they are not lethal weapons, all weapons are made of a metal material that is hard enough to break bone if swung hard enough, but they can not kill. But to keep Tamers from receiving broken bones each battle it is mandatory in regulated battles to wear armor, the armor is made out of different material depending on the class, however all protect against attacks. Tamer armor has special sensors on them, when hit they give the tamer a shock which is tiny at first, but after getting hit enough the Tamer will feel the effects. it is almost like getting stunned, however not as harmful. The shocks are to force the tamer to submit, but some Tamers can keep going on pure will power, rare, but it does happen.

Tamer League Entrance- There are two ways to get into the Tamer league, one can simply buy their way in which is quite expensive, but for some it is nothing compared to the money they spend on their demons. The second way is to defeat the four station leaders, stations are like the Tamer League but on a smaller scale, Tamers compete in a tournament style until they reach the final fight which is against the station leader. These station battles are daily, so even if a Tamer loses they can try again until they win. Stations range from Novice to Expert, the stations are to be taken on in numerical order to allow the Tamer to progress at a steady slope.

Well that is everything, more will be added when/if it is needed. If your reading this, thank you for sticking through all of this.

The sound of the crowds roar echoed through Vincent's ears. Xan, his demon ran over to him, he stood next to his tamer and said β€œMaster, we have done it.” Vincent stood there, the thought that he was now champion hadn't hit him yet. It wasn't until he saw his name up on the screen above him that he realized he had done it. Days passed and the Tamer League was over, Vincent was brought into Northern Wind's lab. His newly created demon was floating in a tube filled with water, the demon was strapped to dozens of wires and an oxygen tank. The scientist walked around studying it, that was when he walked in Alexander Phoenix, the man who started it all. He walked like a man who had it all would, he was one of the world's most famous men. He walked over to Vincent, placed his hand on his shoulder, and said β€œso, what do you think? Did I get it right?” He looked at the demon, it looked similar to a werewolf however it had nine tails that all swayed through the water. It had an aura about it that just made it seem powerful, this demon was clearly of champion level one could see it with a single glance.

One of the scientist walked over the Alexander and said in a hushed tone β€œSir, it is time for the surgery.” He nodded and then Alexander escorted Vincent out of the lab, the tube the demon was floating in slowly began to drain. They then opened the glass door of the tube and began transferring the demon over to the table that was no more than ten feet away. Suddenly the demon opened its eyes and began flailing around trying to escape the grasp of the scientist this was unusual most demons didn't wake up during this process. One of them grabbed a needle to try and sedate it, but the demon broke free and ran toward the window. Guards rushed through the door and began firing, a stray bullet grazed the demon and it crashed through the window. It touched down on the ground, leaving cracks in the ground from the force of the fall. It looked at its wound and then ran off, the guards looked at each other and then at Alexander. He sighed and said β€œdon't just stand here go after it, that demon hasn't been taught not to attack humans, it could kill someone.” The guards rushed out of the lab and chased after the demon.

The demon ran through crowds of people, no one was disturbed by it seeing as they had all seen demons before. The demon managed to make its way to the lower class side of Star city, it was filled with apartment buildings and generic stores. The demon hid in the back alley by the train station, it hid behind a dumpster and curled up in a ball. It was dark so the only visible part of the demon was his light silver eyes. The demon stared at the people that walked passed, none of them even knowing he was back there. Riven made her way down the stairs of the train station, she was on her way home from work. She worked at her best friend's restaurant, it was a small Italian restaurant. It had a few problems with crime, but it was a good place to work and was quite popular so Riven knew she would at least get to keep her job for a while. As she made her way down the street she noticed blood on the sidewalk, she looked and a trail of it lead into the alley. She saw silver eyes staring at her, she started to walk away when those eyes started to get closer. She then started to run, but before she could get away the demon jumped on her and pulled her into the alley. Riven watched as the Shinai, she had on her back dropped to the ground. She pulled herself away from the demon and rolled toward the Shinai, she picked it up and smacked the oncoming demon in the face. The bamboo sword was swung with so much force it broke against the demon's face. She dropped the Shinai and began to run when a human male hand grabbed her wrist. She turned to punch the person touching her, but when she saw how blood he was she stopped herself. He barely got out the words β€œhelp me” before passing out on the cold ground.

Riven sighed, the demon had just tried to attack her, but she couldn't leave him like that. She slowly propped him up on the wall, the light from the street lights and billboards allowed her to see him clearly. His silver eyes hidden behind his closed eyelids, from the angle she was looking at him he was actually slightly attractive, even though he did try and kill her. She took her hoodie off and put it on his shirtless body, she looked down and luckily he was wearing pants, ripped pants, but they were better than nothing. She stood there trying to figure out how she was going to move him, this demon was bigger than her and looked like he was heavier. She shook her head and then grabbed his arms and began pulling him. Her apartment was only a few blocks away, when she finally reached the building she unlocked the door and dragged him up the stairs. She got to her door and swung the door open, she looked at her younger brother,Johnathon, who was on the coach and said β€œwant to give me a hand with this.” He walked over to her and looked at what he thought was a dead man and said β€œyou finally did it, you killed a guy and now you want me to cover it up for you.” She sighed and said β€œshut up and help me put him in your room.” He looked at her and said β€œI don't want a dead guy in my room.” She quickly yelled β€œhe isn't dead and he isn't going in my room!” Johnathon sighed and helped her drag the demon into his room, Riven began wiped the blood off of the demon and then threw a blanket over him. Johnathon looked at her and said β€œ you know mom is going to kill you right?” Riven smiled and said β€œWell, we will cross that bridge when we get there.”

Riven sunk down on the coach and sighed, Johnathon placed his hand on her shoulder and said β€œPromise me that the next time you almost kill someone you don't bring them home.” She stared at him for a second with an agitated look on her face. He then smiled showing his shiny braces. The two then sat there watching the TV. Suddenly the demon came out of Johnston's room, he slowly approached the coach his silver eyes on Riven. He wrapped his arms around her neck and Riven reacted by jumping up and flipping hi, over using the moves she learned in her judo class. The demon landed on the floor in front of Riven's feet, he looked up at her and said β€œI just wanted to say, thank you.” Riven gasped and said β€œOh, I'm sorry.” Riven helped the demon up and said β€œwhy did you attack me earlier, I thought demons couldn't attack people.” He looked at her confused and said β€œI wasn't trying to attack you, I just wanted help.” Riven shook her head, she smiled and said β€œwell you have a interesting way of asking for help.” The demon smiled, his silver eyes now shining, Riven then said β€œso, what is your name?” The demon shrugged and looked around as if he was slightly confused. Riven thought for a second and then said β€œyour name should be Silver.” It was clear she was basing his name off of the shining silver eyes the demon had. The demon smiled and said β€œThat sounds like a great name.” Johnathon rolled his eyes showing that he didn't agree, but Riven didn't care. Johnathon then looked at Riven and said β€œhow are you going to explain to mom that we now have a demon in the house?” Riven shook her head and said β€œI wont?” Johnathon laughed and said β€œyea, I'm sure she wont notice the six foot, silver eyed man walking around.”

β€œMeow!”

A blue-greenish catlike creature circled around Sky, attempting to get the attention of the red-haired girl. But she did not even notice her pet jumping around her, the Trapper was too busy not trying to crash her new crate of supplies. First of all, it was too expensive to just let it drop on the ground. Secondly, it was very, very embarrassing should she fall flat on her face. The chances of Sky, tripping face down into a large pool of mud was rather high. Seemed luck was rarely with her, or not at all.

β€œMeow!” The creature cried, louder this time. Nearly tripping the small girl by literally standing on her left foot. β€œTi- Tibs...!” Sky struggled to keep her balance, almost dropping the large Compared to her height. crate on the ground. β€œTibs! I said no!” The red-haired girl stared at the tiny creature with her dark-blue eyes. A frustrated expression glued on her face. β€œIep!” The creature silently cried, stepping a few inches away from its master. Its lime green eyes slowly rolling upwards, only to meet up with Sky's angry expression.

β€œAww~ Sorry...” The Mechanic crouched down on her knees, gently dropping the crate of supplies next to her. Though still holding tight onto one side of the crate with her left hand. β€œBut you know I can't carry you on my shoulder now.” The catlike creature gently pushed its head against Sky's free arm as it purred softly. It did not want its master to be angry. β€œYou knooow~ If you behave the rest of the trip back home. You can rest on my lap when I'm working~” Sky told her pet, a playful tone behind each word.

β€œMeow!” The creature cried out, raising its body on its lower pair of legs. Gently throwing its front paws on Sky's knees. β€œThen it's a deal!” The red-haired girl yelled. Smiling widely as she gently stroke Tibs blue-greenish fur, before picking up her supplies and continue her way to her home. Well, home...? Some old garage the girl had bought somewhere in the slums of Star City. Which wasn't that far from her local store. Not Sky's store of course, hah! She wished. It was just her store where she could buy anything her Mechanic's heart desired.

β€œThere, we're back!” Sky yelled out as she entered her garage. Not that anyone would answer of course. It was just her, some unfinished contraptions, Tibs and the garage. But it was home, and a home should be greeted as well. It wasn't that large, but still large enough for two rooms and a tiny hall which separated said rooms. The hall was just a plain, uninteresting grey colour, perhaps a few loose wires, screws and bolts here and there but that was about it. The broken, oak-brown wooden door on the left side of the hall, was Sky's bedroom. A small, yet comfortable room. Every furniture was separated by only a few inches. You couldn't move your toe, or you would hit something in sight.

Now, the light-grey, metallic door to the right was where the fun began. This door, let to the construction room. Sky's personal Although there was no-one to disturb her. workspace. It didn't really stand out, but the large room was big enough to store a small amount of contraptions, and a workbench. β€œ And. There!” The red-haired girl let out a bright, satisfied sigh. Gently placing the large crate on the table, before letting herself fall onto the wooden chair beside the workbench.

β€œIep!”

The blue-greenish coloured creature hopped onto Sky's lap, purring as it crawled itself into a fur-ball. The Mechanic smiled, chuckling faintly as she petted Tibs on its head. β€œA deal, is a deal.” As long as the creature didn't disturb the girl's work, it would be fine. And by the looks of it, Tibs was too tired to even move an inch...

"Come on Maxi, is that the best you've got?" The small insect looking demon, jumped around the young male. Almost as if he was taunting him into a battle. "Am i too fast for ya? Huh, am i? Haha!" It continued.

The young male had been traveling throughout the city, just going for a peacefull stroll. His silver hair danced within the gentle breeze, as it swayed infront of his eyes. Not only was his hair getting on his nerves, but his pesky little demon was too. "Do i have to make you shut up?" He warned the small demon. "God! How the hell does one little green grasshopper demon thing, become so friken annoying?" Stopping outside of a fruit shop, Maxi looked behind him, then down towards his demon. Just wait out here will ya? Slowly but surely, the little demon nodded.

Glacing at all the bigger Demons within the city, the green bug slopped down on the floor, glaring at his claws. It's tiny wings fluttered as the wind got more and more violent. "We have a new tamer league Champion!"
He looked up upon one of many, electrical billboards and sighed. Not only did it make things worse, but it showed off his trusted demon, making everybody know that he wasn't to be messed with. Why would anyone want a demon like me? When they can get demons like that?

Suddenly, waves of people started to gather a group just outside of the fruit shop. Clearly something was going on.
"Woah! Look at that Demon!"
"That's friken aweshum!"
People young and old, stood in shock to the fact that this person had a pretty nice demon. Which would explain why the owner was so smug about it. "Yea... Soon i'll be the one to beat Vincent. He's got nothing on me!" He bragged on and on, which simply annoyed the small Demon. With his wings picking up speed, causing it to defeat gravity by slowly raising higher and higher. It slashed its claws together, while making a vibrating sound, soon enough catching the attension of the vast group.
"Look at that little thing! HAHA"
"Is that supposed to be a demon?"
"I don't know it's kinda cute."
Cute? How dare they call him cute. Rage began to increase and build up within the little guy. His green eyes, glaring right into the eyes of the other Demon, trying to cause some intimindation. And of course, it did.

The black and gold dragon, let out a fearsome roar, sending out a warning to those nearby. Once a group, swiftly divided into smaller ones, meters away from the scene.
"Well this little guy has got guts... I like that." Petting his 'pet' dragon on its leg, the red haired boy grined then laughed slightly. "Okay, Rhyperious, Teach this bug not to mess with us"
Flames gathered around the dragon, causing the small street to become much hotter. The roar of the dragon could be heard from meters away, merely causing the ground to crack alittle, flames switching from black to gold as they fused with the demon. Clearly it was ready to attack.

"Hmm... You know what... Just give me all the apples you've got... " The shopkeeper let out a sigh, as he began to pack the rest of the shopping bags. Maxi grinned at him carelessly, then looked outside the window. "What...the...hell..." He shook his head rapidly, hoping that this had nothing to do with scizet. Slowly, Maxi glanced back at the shopkeeper, "Cancel that order, i'll come back another time."
The shopkeeper droped the last apple that was needed to finish the order, growling to himself as Maxi ran outside the shop." Damn teenagers!! I'm too old for this!"

"Now! Aura flare!" He pointed towards the little insect, not knowing that he was owned by another tamer. But, it wasn't like he cared anyway. Whatever he faught, would give Rhyperious that extra boost to become a Champion level.
Fully fused with the flames, Rhyperious rose into the sky, covering the sun. It's wings spread out, as black and golden fireballs rained down from its vast wings, almost destorying parts of the streets.
Now Scizet maybe small, but he was surely quick on its wings. Swooping and swaying in and out of the fireballs, dodging them like it was nothing. During all this, statical energy gathered on its small claws, making them glow a sky blue. His eyes, locked onto its target as it continued on with its attack. Truely a sight to behold, infact, nearby news reporters searching for a story began recording the scene live!

"Scizet, No!" Maxi cried out.
The little demon looked back, losing its concentration. All his energy had been canceled out as he glared down at Maxi, causing him to become a easy target. A golden fireball, the biggest of them all, flared down onto him. Sending him crashing into the sidewalk of the street, in flames.
"Scizet!" Maxi called out once more, looking over to the area of flames.

"And you call that a demon, hmph, what a noob.." The tamer flicked his red hair out of the way of his eyes, smugly laughing at the fact that he had beaten another demon. Swiftly, Rhyperious landed behind it's tamer, breathing deeply throughout its mouth.

But to his suprise, golden flames were no more, infact; it had become a area of static. As the once known 'Insect' demon, had transformed into something unreal...
"It's not over yet, kiddo!"

"Maxi....Maxi.....Maxi!! Get up already!" Slowly, his eyes opened, then blinked rapidly. wait...what?
Was he daydreaming again? He looked around to see that he was in an hotel room, the flat screen 3D tv was on for some strange reason, while the sun was at it's highest point.
"About time you woke up" His mother sighed as she got up from her knees, her strawberry blonde hair shined within the sun's rays. "Come on, we've got to get you ready for your training"
"Alright mom, i'll be ready in a sec"
Walking out the room, his mother shut the door behind her. Maxi rolled his eyes as he got up from the bed i really need to stop daydreaming like this... urgh!

Tap, Tap, Tap

The pitter-patter of bored little hands resounded throughout the small apartment. A fairy sat on the nightstand beside the bed, tapping impatiently, and a human laid on the bed itself. Every tap from the fairy caused the human to wrinkle up his nose. Try as hard as he might, he could not drown the incessant tapping from his mind. The hands supporting his hand flexed as irritation welled up inside him. It seemed like it wouldn't be long before the man would snap. Yet, it wasn't his voiced that pierced the silence.

"I'm so bored!" She exploded, "Really Ash, is there nothing else to do but nap!" She asked, turning her small head towards the human on the bed.

"Dammit Rose, what do you want me to do? We just had a match yesterday, and I'm still sore! You don't have to fight them head on." Ash responded, leaning on his elbows and staring at the fairy. He didn't seem mad, he rather expected her to snap at some point. He could always feel when she was getting antsy. He shook his head, continuing on, "And besides, what else is there to do, hmm? We are broke, we spent the last of our scratch on that," Ash said, pointing at the sword and shield in the corner of the small apartment. He winced, thinking about the money he spent on those items. Ash was tight, and any exchange of currency caused his severe pain... At least, you think it would the way he hoarded his money.

He looked back to Rose, still sitting on the desk. She seemed to have been hurt by Ash's words. She looked sullen, staring at the floor and oddly quiet. Guilt racked Ash. He didn't mean to make her sad. They were broke and he was tired, what else was he to do? Hmm? What is there to do? Dammit.

"Fine." A simple word that perked Rose up. In fact, she buzzed right off of the desk and flew to his shoulder without hesitation. "You knew I'd give into to those eyes, didn't you?" Ash said, a smile playing at the corner of his mouth. She knew how to break him, and there isn't many that do. Minus his sisters and mother, there was nobody else who could.

"Fine, fine. Let's see if we can get ourselves into some trouble,"

"Yay!" Rose said, clapping her petite hands together excitedly. "Do you really need that?" She asked as he bent over to pick up his shield and sword. "Well, yeah. I've got to get used to the weight. Plus, you never know when you will get drawn into a fight. I'd rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it," A bit of wisdom from a man named Rush. With that, they left the apartment, Rose busily chattering on Ash's shoulder, and the man seemingly listening.

Seemingly.

Katsurou sighed and flopped down onto the bed, boredom overtaking him once again. He stared at the blank ceiling of his room, thinking what he should do next. There wasn't much else. He always stayed in his house where he lived alone unless there was a good reason not to, like running out of food. He had a lot of money left over for that, despite not having a job. He was grateful for the corpse of the man who held a small fortune, but he wondered why it wasn't taken along with his life. Eventually, he turned towards the game console lying on his shelf and the large HDTV just next to it. The game console was outdated; the newest one came out just a year ago, but Katsurou enjoyed the previous generation's games far too much. There was even a remake of Nocturne, and there was no way he was letting his favorite game go. He never did finish it on Hard mode...

Before he could rise and turn the game on, his demon Garm entered the room. Katsurou perked up, seeing his canine companion. He seemed especially hyper today, judging by the energetic bound onto the bed next to him. Smiling slightly, Katsurou laid a hand on Garm's head and began stroking behind his ears. Glancing at the clock on the other shelf, Katsurou saw that it was time for their regular sparring match. They needed to keep trained if they were to even participate in the Tamer League like Garm had always wanted. Maybe that was what he came in for. Garm was the quiet type in terms of the telepathy enabled by their bond, so it was sometimes difficult to tell what he was thinking. On the other hand, Katsurou was like an open book to him. Katsurou rolled off the bed, away from Garm, and grabbed the blunted Katzbalger hidden under his bed in the same fluid movement. Garm barked excitedly and followed him downstairs to the back garden.

When they reached the garden, Katsurou drew the magic sword and Garm adopted a defensive stance, tail lashing from side to side in anticipation. Katsurou decided to try something a little different this time, to maybe break his demon's win streak against him. Instead of firing a magic rock at him to take advantage of his elemental weakness as a Lightning-type, he just placed the blunter end of the sword on his shoulder in a casual stance and taunted. Garm snarled in mock outrage and leaped towards him, fangs bared. Katsurou prepared to grab his metal collar and throw him aside, leaving him open for a magic attack, but it didn't happen. Garm fell short and blasted Katsurou with a powerful bolt of electricity. Though he never was affected much by such attacks, having an inexplicable natural resistance to them and Water-types, the force of the bolt and the surprise by the feint sent him staggering back a few steps. He was stunned only momentarily, but it was enough for his opponent to get in a guaranteed hit. He pounced again, this time for real, and pinned him to the ground. They landed heavily, and it took Katsurou a second to realize his demon was at his throat, ready. He had lost again. As Garm stepped off of him and he rose, he saw his tail wagging delightedly and he was grinning widely. Smug little bastard, Katsurou thought to himself with a smile. He picked up the sword he dropped somewhere down the line - it happened so fast he didn't even notice - and readied it again. It was time for round two.

This time, Katsurou was serious.

Jarren woke up in the middle of a dream, which was mostly likely about him being on the beach with some ladies. He felt a cold noise nudge his forehead, but when he didn't get up, he heard a soft growl. This time he didn't hesitate to get up. "Okay, What do you want Kallik?" He asked as he looked down at the white wolf's red eyes. He didn't expect her to reply and wasn't suprised when she didn't. He realized he was late for his job. "Crap. Okay, I need you to morph back into a human while I get ready."

Kallik changed into her human skin as she waited for her tamer to come out. She stood there staring at nothing when she heard Jarren come out of the walk in closet. He was now wearing a white shirt with black jeans and his black boots. He walked into the kitchen with Kallik following him a few steps behind. He didn't really think having a Demon would be so.... boring. Jarren graved some already cooked bacon, thinking Kallik must have cooked them. On his way out of the house, he put on his black leather jacket when he realized something. He couldn't just waltz in with a demon trailing him around, but then again he could probably sell her to someone else. "Come on."

Jarren started walking down the street when he glanced back at Kallik following him. She was watching Jarren with a steady gaze when his cell phone rang. He yanked it out and looked at the screen. "Dang. It's October." October is the name of his boss, who very strict and didn't really like him. He sighed and answered the phone. Before he could say anything, October started screaming into the phone. "Jarren!! What is wrong with you!? I've been waiting all day at the counter, for you to show up!! The other employees are all out sick or injured and I need you to be here! My daughter is at the hospital having surgery and do you think I have time to sit around here all day when my daughter might die!? Heck no! You know what, forget it. Your being let go, so you better not show your face here every again!!!" Then she hung up on him.

Jarren groaned as he snapped his phone shut and smacked himself in the face. "Just great. I lost my job, my mother died and left me a demon... I hope this day doesn't get any worse." He looked back at Kallik. She had a frown on her face and looked like she was sad. It suprised him because she never did anything but stare ahead at nothing or him. He sighed and visibly deflated. "Okay. Lets go shopping and get you some clothes. That white shirt you have is annoying me." The white shirt kallik was wearing, was his mothers and the dark blue jeans she wore were bought for her by his mothers. They made him a bit sad and angry. He turned and started to walk down the street toward the shopping mall with Kallik at his heels.

Hawke emerged from the Medical Bay battered, bruised and annoyed. The battle against Vincent had been brutal. He had fought extremely well, as did his Demon Velox, but the match seemed to be predestined. Vincent destroyed Velox and himself with that thing of his. He knew for a fact that an Air Demon could never defeat a Light Demon, especially since Xan was a higher level, but he had to try. He didn't make it that far for nothing. But it seemed he had, as all he left with was some empty money for coming second, bruises, a broken arm and a battered demon. Velox had shrunk into his Pet form, a miniature version of his normal self, and was slung around Hawke's body recuperating. He had taken multiple hits from the speed that the Tamer and Demon could do. And Velox nor Hawke was fast enough.

He emerged to nobody, really. Most had followed the runaway demon he heard that was supposed to go to Vincent. Hawke wanted to punch something, but refrained, as he might destroy the object, and kept walking. He needed to find a way to beat Vincent, but for now he needed to rest and go home, do some yoga maybe or meet some new Tamers. It was always nice to meet new people.

"I've told you eleventy-million and thirty-nine times, Drill, you're too big to come in the city." Driller let out another one of its long moans, a passerby might suspect there was a whale in the vicinity, rather than the enormous wormlike creature that Driller was. Melian Deveut, his owner, looked quite insignificant standing before the colossal demon, despite his own significant height. "Why don't you just hang out underground a bit 'till I come to get you? I hear the dirt is very warm this time of year." Looking up into the sky, Driller let out another bellow as his segmented body slowly began to fold in and contract on itself. After several minutes, it had finally shrunken down to a little over Melian's height. He stared blankly as it slithered up to him "Oh," he said as he turned toward the city, allowing Driller to travel along beside him "I'd forgotten you could do that." As he walked along the streets, it was natural that people would try to avoid Driller as best they could, as wormlike creatures are typically perceived as slimy, one would have to touch Driller to discover that his body is actually made up of a thick, leathery substance, strong and durable.

Melian strolled along a bit more before walking up to a stranger who was window-shopping along the roadside "Excuse me, where's my house?" The stranger gave him a look that said a thousand words of irritation before hurrying off. "What an antisocial fellow." Exclaimed Melian as he looked around "Wait a minute..." He let out a laugh as he leaned against Driller "We don't have a house, do we? My bad, my bad! Well," He stood up, wiping at his one remaining eye "let's go find a place to stay."

"How about this one!? No, wait, wait! This one! How about this one! Hold on, that one! I know, I want this one-"

The fairy demon Rose was busy quickly zipping around outside the window of a local toy store. On display were a number of dolls in extravagant dresses, dresses which of course would fit Rose's diminutive stature. The dolls themselves were of no interest to the fairy, only the clothes they wore. While Rose was a demon, she was more humanoid than most demons. Therefore, she had certain attributes a human female would possess. Such as a love for fashion... Even if her type of fashion can only be bought at toy stores.

Ash stood back away from the window, watching in amusement as the fairy buzzed excitedly around the window. His arms was crossed around his chest, and he was absentmindedly stroking what little fuzz he had on his chin. It was about that time he shaved again. But for that, he would need a razor and shaving cream, and for that, he would need money. Ash sighed as he pulled his wallet out of his pants and opened it. Slim pickings. He only had enough for tonight's meal. He couldn't afford the needed sundry items. He sighed again as he closed the thin wallet, he would have to ask his parents to send even more money. He hated asking them for money, what was the point of being on his own if he couldn't even support himself? Obviously they didn't care, but that wasn't the point. He wanted to carve out his own way through the games, and by damn he was going to do just that.

Before Ash could even put away his wallet, a sweet voice pierced his thoughts, "Ashley! Oh Ash! I've got to have this one!" As he looked up from his pathetic excuse for a wallet, he was greet with the sight of a fairy hovering in front of his face with an excited expression plastered on her face. "...What one?" Ash asked hesitantly. If she had her mind wholeheartedly set upon the dress, then he would have to break her heart. He hated that. Rose flew to his hand, grabbed a finger, and began to drag the bigger man towards the window. There she pressed her tiny face against the glass and pointed into the shop, pointing at a pretty doll sporting a thin white and red dress.

Ash looked from the doll to Rose, and back again. She was right, it was a pretty dress. It would look even prettier on her. Yet, he didn't think he could afford it and to eat at the same time. He looked back to Rose, and opened his mouth to tell her this bit of sorry news, but he hesitated. Her sweet little eyes upon his. She wanted it. Ash looked back to the doll and dress and looked back to Rose. He shook his head, and looked down. He was going to hate saying this to her...

Rose was busily dancing in the air in front of Ash in a new red and white dress, estatic with her new outfit. Ash trailed behind with a tight look on his face. He had spent what little cash he had on that dress, and maybe had enough for a couple of crackers, or a cheap bowl of ramen or something. He wouldn't eat like a king, but he would eat... Maybe.

Rose, feeling Ash's dejected mood, hovered over to him and took her perch on his shoulder. There she rubbed the spot behind his ear and spoke, "I'm sorry Ash, but I promise. We won't have these troubles for long. You will become a great tamer, and you won't have to worry about money any more. Nor will your parents, or sisters," She said. Ash nodded, "That's the idea. I'm tired of being a nobody, you know? I want to be somebody. I want to win a tournament. Dammit, I will win. We will win," He said with flawless resolve. Like it was almost a given.

A smile spread across Rose's lips and she gave his ear a tug, "That's my boy. And think about it like this, Sarah has a new doll!" This ellicted a laugh from Ash.

"Yeah, too bad it's naked," He said.

Jarren was walking across the street when he saw some people staring at Kallik, who was behind him. He turned into an Alley and turned to Kallik. "Okay. People are wondering why you have red eyes and I don't think it's a great idea for you to talk around like this. So please... morph into a wolf again." Kallik looked at her tamer then reluctantly shifted into her wolf form. Without bothering to check to see if she was following, Jarren walked out of the alley and back onto the sidewalk. Kallik trotted out of the alley after him but stopped when she heard some people talking from across the street. She stood there, and slowly looked at them, with her red eyes. "I'm sorry Ash, but I promise. We won't have these troubles for long. You will become a great tamer, and you won't have to worry about money any more. Nor will your parents, or sisters," Kallik didn't have to narrow her eyes to see that there was a small fairy in some sort of white dress, then kallik turned her gaze on the human boy. "That's the idea. I'm tired of being a nobody, you know? I want to be somebody. I want to win a tournament. Dammit, I will win. We will win."

Jarren stopped walking when he didn't hear the pitter-patter of Kallik's claws, clacking against the cement from behind him, he stopped. He turned around to see the white wolf watching some people from across the street. He looked over, but saw nothing but a bunch of people. He sighed, and whistled aloud, hoping Kallik would follow him already. Kallik heard Jarren whistle to her, but let out a deep growl at Rose, the fairy and Ash, the human, then turned away and walked after her human. Glad Kallik was following him again, he hesitantly patted her shoulder, then saw a candy store and entered it, with his wolf.

Kallik's nose started twitching when they entered the candy store, taking in deep breaths of the scent of different types of candy. Without a warning she walked away from Jarren, following her nose to a row filled with candy. She slowed when she came to a section that was mostly filled with chocolate candy. She jumped up and bit into a giant Hershey's bar. She carried it back to Jarren who was suprised. He thought of buying it but then graved two Hershey bars and bought them. He walked outside and sat on a bench, unwrapping one Hershey's bar, he threw it at Kallik who swallowed it in two bites. He unwrapped his and started eating it.

Gyos sat on the steps of his hotel, playing with a pebble. He would lift it, drop it, then reverse it into his hand. This was one of the only things he could manage with the time manipulation gauntlet outside of the League. It was never as strong outside of the arena.

Letting the stone drop, he checked the sun. It was nearly time for him to get moving. Whistling softly, he alerted a massive beast in the shadows. A massive three-headed, alien looking hound. Its six ears perked up, as it rose to its feet, its two skeletal tails swinging happily. It bounded to his side, eager to start the day. Gyos pulled the hound ahead, and lept onto its spiny back, carefully spreading the spines to avoid any awkward spine placement. He pressed the hound forward,

"Osiris, let's go boy," and he gave a light pat on his middle neck. Immediately Osiris bounced off through the crowds, taking back alleys and shortcuts through the hustle and bustle of the city downtown square. They had been through this way many, many times. Osiris, surefooted and swift, reached the outskirts of the main city, descending into the tighter residential centers and even further, into the seedier areas of Star City. These were the slums of Star City, where Gyos was born and raised, and oddly enough, where his grandmother lived. His grandmother had raised him as a child. He still often visited her, he cared for her greatly.

His grandmother, Granma Hielo (Hielophyn) was nothing ordinary, she was strange and awesome as a result. She was the only woman he had seen threaten a crime lord. Scary, she was, in a good way. Nobody messed with her, for what he didn't know why. Her demon might have a part in it, but more likely, her history as a great fighter in the arena.

#, as written by Byte
β€œAnd... done!” Sky announced cheerfully, lifting up a small calculator-like machine. This spontaneous break of silence, made Tibs, who was, apparently, fast asleep on the Trapper's lap. Jump up, nearly throwing the device out of sky's hand. β€œWhoops! Sorry Tibsy, completely forgot you were there~” The Mechanic responded, laughing nervously as she felt kind of stupid for forgetting about her pet-demon. The catlike creature just meowed, not at all happy by its master's sudden outburst of cheer. But, who wouldn't be happy about finishing something you'd been working on for the past week?

Nonetheless, Tibs wasn't the only one to be startled by Sky's sudden outburst. A heavy, echoing bark came from behind the metallic door. It was the Trapper's second demon, Farkas. A shadow wolf one would call it. Sky got startled by its loud barking, and fell of her chair. Landing on with her back on the hard stone floor, a large pain-shot going through her whole body. β€œOwww...!~” The Mechanic cried out, struggling to get back on her feet. Each motion seemingly making the pain worse. β€œAt least. Ouch... I had my back-rub for today...” Sky slowly made her way towards the metallic door, the wolf-demon immediately jumping on the yet unaware Tamer, as she opened the door. β€œHahaha! Ouch... Farkas, give me a break...!” The demon wagged it's long tail, glad to finally see its master had returned from shopping.

β€œIt is that time of the day already, huh?~” The red-haired girl spoke with a playful, sarcastic tone. Farkas wagging its tail more excessive. Hey, he is a dog after all. And dogs need to be taken outside some times. β€œI think a short break from work can't hurt. I was done working on RACK anyway.” Sky stroke the dark, shadowy fur of Farkas, who licked its master's face in response. β€œYou really are glad to see me, huh?” The small girl nodded to herself. Standing up from her second fall this day, and make her way to the front door. But, before she could set one step outside, Tibs silently ran up to her and hopped onto her shoulder. β€œYou too?” The catlike creature meowed loudly, he wasn't going to stay behind, while Sky was going to have some fun in the city.

Once outside, people didn't seem to be at all bothered by the large wolf, demon. Farkas is about the same size as Sky, perhaps a tad bit smaller. Though they did look strangely at Sky, probably because she was walking around with two demons? Well, everyone has got his or her own strange little habits. Should anything go wrong, Sky always had her custom made Gauntlet to summon(?) her demons back to her house. And should a fight break out between her and a random Tamer? Her satchel was full of contraptions, should she have a need for them. But, a fight in public wasn't Sky's style. To many people watching and in danger of getting hurt. Her contraptions weren't target -guided. Which was a shame. Maybe that was a new idea the Mechanic could work on for her next project...?

Sky slowly past through the slums, occasionally glaring through windows of stores she hadn't been in. But, the Mechanic would find many more interesting stores in the richer parts of Star City, or so she hoped. Not that Sky was going to buy anything, but drooling from behind the window, while staring at the latest models of professional weaponry was just as much fun as buying them. To her at least.

β€œWoooowww....!~” The Tamer exclaimed, pressing her face against a store window as soon as she entered the wealthier parts of town. β€œIf only I had enough money to but it.” Sky gasped at the sight of a simple, but beautifully crafted hook shot. Something she always found interesting, as it helped you escape more easily, should you get into a tight situation. A fight for example. Still, if she would have the resources, Sky could build one herself. Maybe not as good as the one presented in the window-shelf, but it would work. The Trapper was so immersed with the tool, that she didn't notice Tibs jumping from her right shoulder and disappear just around the corner, until it was too late. β€œTibs! Get back here!” Without watching her steps, and the people around her. Sky chased the cat-demon, what could it want this time?

Sky was too busy trying to find her pet-demon, she didn't notice a loose stone among the pavement, and the Mechanic fell. Third time this day, could it get any worse? β€œOw. Ow. Ouch...” Farkas seemed to find it an amusing sight, as the wolf-demon wagged its tail around in excitement. At that moment, Tibs had returned from, whatever the cat had been doing, only to find its master on the ground. β€œMeow...?” It cried curiously, trying to help Sky get on her feet, by pushing her arm up with its head. And, after another struggle to get herself at least on her knees, the Tamer reached for Tibs, holding the cat in front of her face. β€œdon't just run away like that...!” Sky was, indeed, angry. But couldn't help laughing slightly at the fact that Tibs pulled a sad face. β€œAwww~” Was all she said before letting the demon go and allowed Tibs to jump onto her shoulder again.

The red-haired girl stood up from her embarrassing position, dusting off her clothes. Before looking around herself to make sure no-one had witnessed that idiotic moment...

Riven stood up from her spot on the coach and said β€œAlright, we have to hide him before mom gets home.” Suddenly the door opened and Riven's mother walked into the apartment. She was carrying two plastic bags filled with food, she walked into the kitchen and placed them on the counter. She then said β€œI bought Chinese” She looked into the living room to see Riven,Johnathon, and Silver staring at her. She smiled and said β€œYour friend will have to leave.” Riven chuckled and said β€œUm, he doesn't have anywhere to go.”

Her mother sighed and said β€œAlright, what is going on.” Riven grabbed Silver's hand and dragged him over to her mother, she stood there and said β€œThis is Silver, he is a demon.” Her mother rolled her eyes and said β€œRiven, we barely have room in this apartment as it is and you bring a demon. What do you expect to do with him, keep him as a pet?” Johnathon then interrupted by saying β€œWhy don't you make him earn his keep, enter him into so tournaments see if he wins.” Riven sighed and said β€œyea, but how will I afford the equipment to enter, you know a gauntlet and armor is required to enter.” Riven's mother sighed and said β€œHe can stay for one night, then you find him a place to stay.” Riven nodded and then she took out her cellphone and went out of the apartment. She went out to the front of the apartment building and sat on the porch. She made a call on her phone. She sat there for a few seconds as it ringed and then a female voice said β€œHello?” Riven smiled and said β€œJess, when is the underground tournament.” The voice responded β€œIts about an hour from now, why are you coming to watch?” Riven chuckled and said β€œnot exactly, I'll see you there bye.” Riven then hung up and ran back into the building and went up to her apartment. She opened the door and grabbed Silver by the hand and said β€œWe will be back in about two hours.” Her mother then yelled β€œwhere do you think your going.” But before she could stop her Riven was out the door and almost on the street. Silver looked at her and said β€œwhere are we going?” Riven looked at him and said β€œcan you fight?”

Riven and Silver ran block by block, the street and billboard lights overhead. They eventually reached a Tamer store on the cleaner richer side of town. She walked inside and reached into her pocket and pulled out a roll of money. Silver looked at it and said β€œThis is a store for tamers are you buying something?” Riven nodded and said β€œwe are going to enter the tournament, this money is supposed to be for bills, but if we win this money will be doubled.” Riven walked over to the counter and looked at the man behind it, she smiled and said β€œHow much for a gauntlet?” He stared at her and said β€œHundred fifty” Riven threw the money on the counter and said β€œany weapon for fifty?” He pulled what looked like a katana off of the wall. It was beaten up and clearly used, but it was the best Riven could afford. The man took the money and then handed her a gauntlet. Riven put it on her right arm and then gripped her sword. The man looked at her and said β€œdon't you want armor?” Riven laughed and said β€œI don't have the money for it, I just wont get hit.” Riven and Silver walked out of the store and then Silver said β€œNow where do we go?” Riven placed her hand on his shoulder and said β€œJust follow me.” The two walked to the train station and took the train to the warehouse district. They got off and ran to the only warehouse that had lights on and a crowd outside. Riven walked up to the bouncer who looked at her and said β€œTamers in the back.” Riven nodded and then ran to the back, where a second bouncer looked her over and said β€œwhere is your armor?” Riven shook her head and he then said β€œAlright, but if you get hurt its on you.” She nodded and her and Silver went inside.

The roar of the crowd made Riven nervous, she was then directed into a dressing room like area for all the tamers. She sat down in a chair and started playing around with her gauntlet, she then looked at Silver and motioned for him to come to her. He did and Riven then said β€œPlace your hand on this.” He did and the gauntlet started to glow a light green color. Riven smiled and said β€œdo you accept me as your tamer.” Silver nodded and the gauntlet stopped glowing, she tapped the gauntlet and a hologram of Silver appeared. The two of them were now bonded, she then said to Silver telepathically β€œI have no idea what skills you have, but I know we can win this.” Silver then said β€œI will make sure we win.” They both smiled and then watched as a woman came in and said β€œeveryone scan your hand on this pad and you will be entered into the tournament, now is the only time you can leave.” Riven was the first to scan her hand on the pad the woman was handing around. Riven was nervous, she had spent all of the money she had to get here. She had to win, if she didn't she would not be able to face her mother. The woman then came back and said β€œRiven, your up.” Silver smiled at her and the two walked out of the room. They walked along a long walkway until they reached the door to a cage. This was the battleground, it was a cage match. Riven opened the door to the cage and her and Silver stepped inside. She then watched as a boy about her age walked in on the other side. They boy then called his demon and a large red dragon appeared.

The announcer silenced the audience and then said β€œLadies and Gentlemen, welcome to Mad Max's underground extravaganza. Today's prize is two thousand dollars to the Tamer who can win enough fights to reach Mad Max and five thousand to the lucky and skilled tamer who can beat our champion.” He stopped for a minute letting that sink in he then said β€œwell, lets get to our first match. The match is between Robert Stevenson, a young tamer who has been here many times before. He has even had the pleasure of battling Mad Max, well folks do I even need to introduce the loser of this fight.” The audience laughed and so did Robert. Riven then yelled at the announcer β€œJust get on with it!” The announcer smiled and said β€œlook at that folks she is ready to lose, well anyway our other tamer is Riven Andrews, a no name Tamer who just got her gauntlet today. Lets get this over with.” The announcer laughed and then a bell rang signaling the beginning of the fight. Riven was getting ready to attack when suddenly Silver ran passed her at great speed, he jumped into the air high above the dragon and a ball of black fire appeared in his hand, her threw it and watched as the dragon flew back into the cage. A black sword appeared in Silver's hand and he then dove down toward the dragon and struck it with a direct hit on its head. Silver landed on the ground and looked at the stunned Riven. Silver smiled and said β€œthe tamer is all yours.” Robert the dragon's Tamer was stunned, he then saw as Riven ran toward him. He readied his sword, but Riven quickly knocked it out of his unprepared hands and struck him in the chest and Robert fell to the ground defeated. The crowd and the announcer was stunned, the announcer suddenly grabbed the microphone and said β€œWe have a winner.” Riven then exited the cage with Silver, they went back to the dressing room area and Riven then said β€œSilver, what was that.”

Silver smiled and said β€œI don't know, it was like something in me just told me to fight.” Riven then checked Silver's battle level and was stunned to see, 435, appear on her gauntlet. Riven then smiled, a part of her knew that will Silver's skill she could win this. Silver sat on the ground in front of Riven and waited for the next fight.

Katsurou laughed to himself, seeing that he lost for a second time. Maybe he was going easy on his demon. With that thought came the thought that Garm might be going easy on him. If that was the case, he would never defeat him. Katsurou may have been versatile, able to take on any situation, but he was more so. He may have been powerful, but he was stronger. He could do more, and better. Perhaps it was time to get a different sparring partner. Having a second demon to fight by his side couldn't hurt either. Katsurou sheathed his sword with a stylish flourish and raised his left arm, the one with the Gauntlet.

"I'm gonna go into town," he said. "Want to come with me, or will you stay here?" Garm barked happily and bounded to his side. He was always so energetic. Katsurou wondered where he got it all from. Regardless, his response was sure, the two would go together. It was a while since Katsurou had last been in the main part of Star City, and he wondered how everything would go. He hoped it would be a quiet trip, but part of him also prayed that something would happen. Katsurou was aching for some real action, despite that he looked like the calm and silent type. When they reached the main area of the city, Katsurou glanced around for a quick second. It was busy today, unusually so. He wondered where he could get a new demon, since he had never been interested before. He decided to just explore a little.

He was proud of coming up with this little plan to get the supplies he purchased back to home. He had experimented with the Gauntlet when he got it and got used to many of the functions. He knew how to teleport Garm from place to place with it, he knew how to summon and store demons and he even enchanted it with Garm's magic enhancement spell which they called Faith. This meant that his magic attacks were constantly under the effects of Faith, meaning he didn't have to keep casting it in battle. That was an ability he was very proud of, the ability to use his magic to increase the strength and magic power of his allies and reduce that of his enemies, as well as erect magic shields and ever-so-slightly alter the flow of time. It wasn't enough to truly break the fight, but it was very helpful. His plan to return the supplies was to give them to Garm, then teleport him back home. Through telepathy, he would inform him when he was ready to return and repeat. Soon the food, magic charms, medicinal items and brand-new game were at home and the two took a short break in the park. It was a nice place, but it felt too artificial to be perfect. They both preferred the wild, but there wasn't much of that left. Technology had advanced so far that people could create literally anything, including a full forest and the animals to go with it, but none of it felt real any more. They were already gone.

"Ready to go back?" Katsurou asked quietly, turning around to his demon. He blinked twice in surprise. He wasn't there. Katsurou tilted his head slightly. This never happened, Garm was always right by his side. He was just about to use the Gauntlet to communicate with him when he heard his telepathic voice in his mind.

Follow me, Garm said. I'm tracking a scent back to the entrance. I think it might be something worthwhile. Katsurou's interest was certainly perked, and he took off at a run towards where he mentioned, the beginning of a smile creeping onto his face. He was still hoping for some action, and his instincts were telling him that it was action he was going to get. And his instincts were almost always right.

"Come on, give it your all!"

A mature voice echoed from the backyard, as mutliple connections of attacks and defensive blocks could be heard afterwords, the training had just begun. Maxi sighed as he put on his lucky fingerless gloves, for some reason he always liked the feeling of wearing fingerless gloves, it just made things easier for him. "Hmm...where did i put it?" Glaring back towards his vast room, he tried to pick out the location of his gaunlet, but it was all in vain... anyone would take hours by simply trying to pick it out. His room was a tip... like a junk yard.. "God.. i've really got to clean this room"

The little insect demon glowed a lime green color, before transforming into his battle mode. Clearly he wasn't playing any games no more. Vine like wings extended from its hard shell back. From a mere 3ft 1, his size increased to 6ft 6. Static gathered and sparkled from its 3 by 3 razor sharp claws. Sharp enough to cut through steel itself. His ruby red eyes, glued upon the mature male, a sense of determination and confidence enraged within them. "Well, show me what you've got Scizzaknight... heh!"
"Lance, wait! You and I both know that you can't take that kind of power from Scizzaknight. Stop being so big-headed!" Maxi's mother yelled while taking care of her own collection of demons. "Besides, it's too late to train right now. Maxi has gotta be somewhere."
"If thats so, then where the heck is he?" Lance sighed, turning his back towards the demon after nodding at him.

God! i'm gonna miss it! where the hell did i put that thing! One after one, t-shirts and other clothing flew into the air, landing onto another spot in the room. Maxi was desperate to find the gauntlet, he needed it now more than ever!

A knock tapped against his room door. "Who is it?"
"Lance.. If you're looking for your gauntlet, its outside....where you left it..." He walked away from the door while laughing to himself.
"Damn it!! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THIS BEFORE?" Maxi yelled after swinging his door open. looking at his watch while dashing towards the backyard. It was hopeless... He was late. Nevertheless, he attatched the gauntlet onto his left arm while using his other arm to grasp a grip around his demon's waist. "I'll be home late... or whatever..." He moaned while the demon flapped it's wings, making a rather annoying vibrating sound... Like a fly buzzing around your ear endlessly. The journey towards the warehouse district had started.

Within minutes, the scenery had changed drastically. From hi-tec billboards and lights, to standard lighting and road signs, it was clear that they were closing in towards the warehouses. Scizzaknight landed a few feet away from the huge crowd, surrounding the basic warehouse. "This must be the place." Maxi released his grip from his trusted demon, soon enough it had transformed back to it's pet forme, finding itself on Maxi's head. He stolled towards the crowd, merely pushing and shoving his way through till he found a bouncer. "Hey, this is where the tourney is right? yea well erm... i'm running abit late... can i still go in?" he grined hopelessly, trying to buy himself a way in. The bouncer eyed him then raised an eyebrow, "You're Maxi right? Maxi Stevens?"
He nodded. "Yup, the one and only"
The bouncer rolled his eyes, then sighed. "Yea, i've heard of you. You're the one that lost in the semi finals... Well you better hurry up kid." He shuffled to the side, as Maxi dashed into the warehouse, the sound of cheering and yelling had already started attacking his ears.

β€œWe have a winner.” The announcer yelled, yet he seemed rather suprised at the fac that this person had came out on top.
"Great... We missed the first match scizet.." From dashing to a confident stroll , Maxi entered the dressing room. Everybody looked intimindating, as they all looked over to the door, some of them rolling them eyes while others raised eyebrows. urgh, the joy of being late... "Oi, you!" A woman appeared out of nowhere, like she was some kind of spy. "You wasn't here a few minutes ago.. Name please?" She glared at him feircely.
"Ermm... well... i arrived here late... But, i didn't bust in or anything... i got let in...so yea... M-my name is Maxi...Maxi stevens?" His voice crackled as the nerves kicked in, letting lose a weak smile.

She began checking the system, tapping her fingers against the hi-tec pad. Occasionally looking back and forth from the pad to Maxi. "You're lucky kid... Place your hand on here, but be warned.. Once you join, you can't leave till the end."
He nodded while placing his hand onto the pad. A high pitched sound came from it once the process was complete, soon enough she had started to walk away. ~That was close Maxi... Maybe we should be more organised next time..~ His demon comunicated with him telepathicly. "Mhm, now i understand why i get told to clean my room..." He laughed.

Slurp.

"Come on Ash, you're eating like a pig," Rose said from atop the napkin holder on the restaurant's table. She was speaking to Ash directly across from her who was noisily slurping down some cheap noodles he managed to buy. "What are you? My mom? Look, this is the last meal I'm going to have for a while, so I'm going to damn well enjoy every bit of it... Even if it's the cheapest crap on this side of town," Ash said between parcels of noodles. Rose sighed and then agreed. The restaurant they were in didn't scream class in any possible way. Hunger led Ash to the poorer side of Star City to a grungy low class restaurant.

Ash raised a hand in resignation and took another mouthful of noodles. While Ash was engaged to his cheap dinner, Rose caught something of interest out of the corner of her eye. On the adjacent table there was a bright colored flyer just laying on the table, probably left by one of the earlier occupants. Being a naturally curious fairy demon, Rose's wings fluttered and lifted her off of the napkin holder and took her to the table. There she picked up the flyer and flipped it over. The paper was as big as she was and from where Ash was sitting, she looked rather funny reading the flyer. He smirked as he watched the dimiuntive fairy read the flyer.

She then pulled the flyer in close to her chest and peered at Ash over the paper. She smiled mischievously through tiny squinted eyes. "You're going to love this Ash, you know how you've been complaining about how broke you are? Well look at this!" She said as she hovered back to the table. Ash laid his head on his hand and watched her with a thin smile on his face, "Oh really? What do you find, princess?" He asked humorously. That's when she flipped the flyer over and showed Ash her catch. He raised an eyebrow as he read the rather interesting piece of paper...

UNDERGROUND TAMER BATTLES!

Need money? Need to scratch that itch all tamer's have? Then join in on tonight's game!

Two thousand for those who can reach Mad Max, Five to those who can best them! What are you waiting for!

Ash threw up his hands as a smile spread across his face, "The hell kind of luck do we have that you just find it laying there?!" He asked, a sparkle gleaming in his eye. Even Rose was becoming giddy, "I don't know! We need to get in on this! You can stop your belly aching with this kind of money!" She said. "Hell, I might can even find another partner for us! No offense Rose, but... Just the two of us isn't going to get us very far." He said. Rose nodded in agreement, "Well, let's go! It says here the warehouse district... Right now!" "Now?" "Now!" Ash nodded and swallowed the rest of his noodles and together they left the dirty restaurant and headed towards the warehouse district. Luckily, the rundown place wasn't too far and within minutes Ash was inside the warehouse, Rose clutching to Ash's crimson hair.

Ash was on his way to the Tamer locker room, already having registered. The one doing the registered had a smirk when Ash told him his name. He paid it no mind, eager to get in on a match. Too bad he had already missed one.

β€œWe have a winner.” was announced on his way to the locker room. He entered the door and found himself a locker to stow away his stuff. Rose lifted from his head and stood on the lip of the locker while Ash got ready. He unzipped the leather jacket he was wearing, revealing the shiny armor underneath. Rose scrunched up a nose and tilted her head, asking a voiceless question. Ash chuckled and nodded, "Yes, I have been wearing this thing the whole day. I need to. It needs to be like a second skin," Ash said, as he tossed the jacket in the locker. Then he hung his satchel on one of the hooks and retrieved both gauntlets, the silver tamer's gauntlet, and the regular armored gauntlet and slipped them on. Finally, he replaced the new sword and shield on his back.

"Alright, now... We wait." He said, sitting down in the locker. Rose drifted down and took her place back on Ash's armored shoulder, and began to fix the collar to his turtleneck. Ash let her work as he surveyed the others in the room. A girl, probably the same age as Isabel stood with her demon (It had to be) sitting in front of her. He nodded towards the girl with a curt tilt of his head. There was another man, still younger than Ash as well, who had a grasshopper like demon. Neither one of them looked as physical as Ash was.

"There, now at least you look half-way decent," Rose said, finally finished with sprucing Ash up. "You can't head into battle looking ratty," He said with a sweet smile. A smile Ash reciprocated.

Hawke was hobbling down the street, passing new Tamers and old faces alike. He grew up in the main district, after all. You get to know the people when you deal the best demons. Which reminded him, he was supposed to be getting his new ordered Demon in sometime soon. He had ordered a Water Demon, hoping it would help if he expanded his list of fighters. He asked for it to be at least 300, and put down some significant cash for it. Hopefully it wouldn't come out as crap.

He got to his door, and noticed a little piece of paper with his name on it. He flipped it open, and read the contents. Apparently, some moron called Mad Max thought that his underground Tamer league would be a smart thing, and decided to give a flyer to the second best? What a retard. He crumpled the piece of paper and threw it down the street, opening the door. He, nor Velox, were in any shape to fight in some illegal tourney. Besides, it sounded rigged and stupid. He peered around the shop, it was quite for a weekday. Nobody was in, since most were training. He shrugged, and checked the back. Sure enough, all of their stock was there, nothing had been stolen. The front items sometimes gotten stolen, but then the thief would realize that none of it worked. Most were for show and were carbon copies, fakes of the real things. He sat behind the counter, finding some food and a note from his dad, saying that they would be gone for a few days and to keep the shop running until they got back. "Good time to rest up. I need it, and so do you." Hawke rubbed Velox on the head happily. He then sat there, eating and waiting for somebody to waltz into his shop.

A large city indeed, so large that sky found herself lost. Which is probably quite the accomplishment, as only the Trapper could get lost like that. The red-haired girl sighed deeply, an irritated groan leaving her mouth. β€œCouldn't they just decide on making this city one, linear line? Why all these twists and turns? I'm surprised they haven't added loops yet!” Some passer-bys frowned confusingly at the girl, probably wondering what she meant by that. β€œAh well, I'll find my way back. But for now~...” Sky made yet, another turn. Carefully passing windows to see whatever was behind them. Curiosity at its best, one might say.

It was surprising how there were little, to no Tamers in this part of the city. Normally, the streets were filled with 'em. Some even fighting in the middle of the street. Maybe they all took a day off? At the exact same day? Possible, but rather unlikely. And little did Sky know, that the Tamer League had just ended a few days ago. β€œI'll find them eventually...!” The Mechanic stared into one of the windows f a rather odd store. A Tamer's store, obviously. But it just didn't really seem to stand out. New? Or just... empty? There didn't seem to be anyone but a man sitting behind the counter. And a... A... sky couldn't quite make out waht that shadowy figure was next to the man.

Tibs, however, had clearly seen the other figure. A large winged demon. Quite intimidating to say the least. Perhaps a wyvern? Or a dragon? Who knows, it didn't stop the cat-demon to hiss faintly and slightly raise its lightning pulses. Not that much, Tibs wouldn't want to hurt Sky. Though mostly not alarm her. Because the threat was unknown. β€œShould we take a look, Tibs?” The cat-demon meowed excessively. Glad its master decided to take a quick peak inside. Farkas, however, was too large to enter. β€œSorry sweety, you'll have to stay outside for now.” The Mechanic stroke the wolf's dark fur. The demon wagging its tail excessively. β€œI'll be back before you know it!” Farkas pushed its master towards to shop's door. β€œAl right, al right. I'm going in already. Haha!”

Once Sky had entered the shop, she carefully observed her current surroundings. Yep, it was a Tamer shop al right. It was small, but a small shop doesn't mean it has bad products. While Sky was curiously going through everything that was on display. Tibs quickly jumped of the Trapper's shoulder, dashing towards the shadowy figure that was standing behind the man. Hey, Tibs was very much like Sky, curious and always ready for new things. And that shadowy figure was just the thing the cat-demon needed.

”Meow...?” The demon cried, turning its head on its side. It wasn't quite sure what the large demon was, or maybe, who it was. Tibs slowly approached the large, winged demon, and softly poked its feet with its Still electrically charged. paws. Before dashing backwards and waiting for either a good, or bad reaction...

It wasn't long before Katsurou found Garm prowling around the warehouse district, on the other side of town. Garm's keen ears caught the sound of cheering from underground somewhere. It seemed like an underground tournament, judging by the flyer that he grabbed by instinct when it floated past his face in the wind. The prize money was impressive, even if a participant lost in the final round. They seemed confident in their champion. Katsurou wondered if there was a good reason for that. Because of it being an underground tournament and most likely not official, he suspected that this "Mad Max" had something... not strictly fair up his sleeve. Regardless, there was no way he could find out. It was too late to enter. Katsurou was a little displeased that he didn't find out earlier, but he did stay in his house almost all the time. It was possible that no one even knew he existed. Katsurou decided to go home for the time being.

It was an uneventful trip back. Neither were involved in the action they both craved so much, but perhaps it was best to save it for another day. When the two returned home, Katsurou unpacked the supplies himself while Garm did whatever he felt like in their room. Katsurou bought everything he could ever need: Food for both of them, mainly fresh meat like venison, or steak, Garm's personal favourite; Magic charms, the kind that could be bound to equipment to have a spell constantly active as well as the kind which simply cast the spell; And medicinal items such as magic beads which dissipate into a healing wind to help its user recover from even near-fatal wounds slightly faster, and orbs which reawaken anyone knocked unconscious. Neither's effects were instant but they got the job done faster than normal. The final piece, which Katsurou proudly carried upstairs to his room with him, was the brand-new game. It was another remake, from several years prior, but it was of a game he didn't have the original version of. In fact, it was an entirely new type of game. He was used to role-playing games, but he had heard great things about this action-adventure, so he decided to give it a try. It wasn't the first game, but the third. Apparently, this one was the earliest, chronologically. He thought it would be a good place to start the story, and he would get the first game next if he liked the series.

Katsurou placed the new game into the console, replacing Nocturne in its case. He grabbed the main controller and turned the game on, sitting back on the bed while Garm curled up next to him. He grinned as the title appeared on the screen, and pressed the Start button. He only needed to see the opening to know for sure that he would enjoy Devil May Cry 3...

Jarren stood up when he was done eating his Hershey's bar. He was starting to walk toward the mall when Kallik started sniffing the air. He watched her curious of what she could smell and what she could hear that he couldn't smell or hear. The white she-wolf looked at him but started walking in the opposite direction, toward his birth-home. "Oh, come on! She won't be there! She left us..." Jarren didn't realize he was yelling at Kallik, so he lowered his voice. When Kallik didn't stop walking he yelled out, "Fine! Be that way!" He watched his demon walk away until he could no longer see her through the crowd of people. Angry about his mother and the demon wolf he stalked back to his house.

--------------------------------------------

Kallik walked away from Jarren, not caring when he didn't come after her. He wasn't her trainer, and she didn't want him to be her trainer. The only trainer she wanted was dead. She stopped until she was a few blocks away from where she left Jarren. She walked quietly into an alley and shifted into her human form. Kallik stood there with her eyes close, taking deep breaths. Finally after a few minutes she sliced through the air with her right hand leaving a glowing blue line where her hand had went. Then she sliced through the air with her left hand leaving the same glowing blue line behind. At the same time she sliced the the air again with both hands leaving the glowing blue line behind again. She watched as the four blue lines she created started making nose, like lightning striking a tree down. Then ever so slowly the blue lines moved, connecting their ends together. The outcome was a very large diamond shape, made of glowing blue lines but there was darkness on the other side, not the other side of the alley. Kallik sighed and walked through the portal and stepped into the backyard of Jarren's birth-house.

The cherry blossom trees were there but they weren't the same. They were no leaves on them and the tree bark was turning an ashey black. They were dieing and Kallik couldn't do anything because Jarren's birth-house didn't belong to his family anymore, but to some stranger. She walked out of the backward and into the street turning back into a wolf in the process. She didn't care where she was going anymore so she walked... and walked.... and walked...

Kallik finally stopped walking around until she saw a house. She stood still for a few moments and from what she was hearing, there was a human and a demon in there. What type of demon? she didn't know. She just walked up to the front door, shifting into her human form and snapped it open. She made her way inside and stopped when she heard noises. She quickly shifted into her wolf skin and looked into a room where a human(Katsurou) was sitting on his bed with a demon dog (Garm), playing a video game. She backed up, started following the scents of food into a kitchen. She pawed open the refrigerator and found nothing in there, that she liked, so she walked under the table and lied down, resting her head on her paws, not knowing what to do.

Hawke brightened up when somebody entered the Zone. He grew up in the shop, and since he wasn't allowed to leave he made friends with anyone who came in. Over the years, the Zone had become quite a famous hotspot for Tamer equipment and Demons, as they carried a massive selection - the selection could be viewed on the walls, but not held - and had some elite items that did cost quite a bit. Most people that walked into his store, however, always seemed to have a deep pocket. It unnerved him how some people would just spend so much money on one thing, it almost felt like a waste.

"Hello!" He smiled to the lady that walked in the door. "And welcome to the Zone. Feel free to browse at your own pace, there is no hurry." He laid back and noticed the Demon rush towards Velox. Now, Velox wasn't very social towards other Demons, he preferred his Tamer or being alone. Hawke looked down and laughed as Velox jumped into the air and landed on Hawke's shoulder after the Demon cat approached it, meowing. "Ah, nice to meet you too little guy!" He looked down at the cute little cat and smiled. "This here is Velox, but you won't hear that from him. He doesn't like other Demons much." Velox hissed to prove the point.

"Hello?! Whos's there?" shouted the elderly woman to the door.
"It's me, Gyos,"
"Well come in, dear,"
"What? It's not locked. I've told you to lock your door, over and over. These are bad parts,"
"In all my years living here, I've never had a problem dearie, I think I know more about these parts than you!"
Sighing, defeated, Gyos walked in and took a seat at the kitchen. It smelled like cooking, but it looked like whatever was here had been eaten and cleaned up a while ago. Slightly disapointed, his demon sniffed at the table, using its three heads to maximize the smell. Rolling his eyes, Gyos pulled the demon to his side and patted his hackles; Osiris lay down, snuffling at the carpet instead.

Most homes in the slum are dirty and filled with junk, but Grandma Helio's home is homey and warm. She could have moved on, plenty of times before, she had the money and the means, but the old woman was too stubborn to give up the home she had fought for as a mother and grandmother, even though it had not been the welcoming abode it was now. Too many memories, she always said, too many friends. Oddly enough, you found good people in the slums. Not everyone was involved in criminal activity or cheated the welfare system. There were many people simply down on their luck, who had also decided not to move on. Some had been engulfed by the slums, living in apartments and condos, the slum swallowed them, expanding like all slums do. This particular apartment building had met this fate, but long before Gyos was born here, long before his mother had passed and left him with his grandmother. She pulled them out of poverty just like Gyos had, The Tamer League. That was one of the main reasons few people ever messed with her. She had lived in the slums her whole life, and had only been mugged once or twice, as a child. Her own demon was currently rolled up in front of the hearth; Sebastian was a dog-sized turtle, red and black. The shell looked like it was constructed when lava met water, black and crusted like obsidian. Its claws, oddly enough, were made of obsidian glass. Very sharp and nasty, perfect for their purpose. The shell itself was dangerous, for cracks ran along it, cracks which seemed with lava and steam when the turtle entered battle. He had once been a furious opponent in the arena, now he was content with a cozy place by the fire. Noticing Gyos and Osiris in the kitchen, it heaved itself from its warm spot and waddled over, clacking its jaw and breathing smoke.

Patting it on the head, Gyos addressed his grandmother, "So, Grandma? I think I'm done with the Beginner battling. I'm thinking I should enroll in the League Tournament. Its been good, but underground and community fights can only get you so far,"
"Well, you do what you need, dear. The League wasn't quite as big in my day as it is now. Back then, all the battles were usually impromptu you see?"
"Sure, yeah. I just came over to-"
"It's in the chest dear, you know which one,"
"Oh, how did you..."
Grandma Helio smiled knowingly. "Go look in the chest at the foot of my bed,"
The chest in question had been a source of mystery when Gyos was a child. Grandma Helio had only opened it on two occasions. Both of which were the only time they had been robbed. Both of which times, the thieves did not escape. Opening the chest, he stared in wonder at what seemed like a small dark blade. He knew what it really was. Taking it, he slid it into a jail-broken gauntlet. He had customized it very slightly, it was already special enough. He made a very strong mental note about the action he made putting it into the slot. With practice, he could reverse time in a small area around the blade, and pull it out in a split second, without having to move. The only problem was the massive distraction time bending posed. He figured eventually he would be able to do great things, but for now, it was weak and difficult. He had only done two amazing things with it, everything else a party trick or gag. He didn't do the gauntlet great justice, but he practiced every day, and made a point to use it every battle, even though it often lead to defeat.

Snapping out of the old reverie, he walked out of the apartment without a second word, she had said enough with the chest, and it was time to leave. Reversing time around the door, he closed it behind him without turning. Heh, that was pretty badass and smooth.

SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!

"Shit,"

Turning and running towards the door, he closed it manually; he had unintentionally set the door close to loop. A very fast, aggressive loop. Fumbling with the gauntlet, he stopped it, and closed the door on the demon turtle, now sputtering smoke and choking with a gurgly laughter. Doors from other apartments opened as tenants glared at him.

Well... so much for smooth.

Garm perked up suddenly, staring silently at the bedroom door. Katsurou, knowing Garm's senses were stronger than his, followed his gaze but saw nothing. Seeing Garm lay his head on his paws again, he knew that if something was there earlier, it was gone now. That, or his demon was messing with him. Katsurou turned back to the game and barely dodged out of the way of an attack with a quiet "Shit." He forgot to pause and his health was now lower than he would have liked. That last attack would have been fatal if it connected. As he counterattacked and defeated the last enemy, Garm rose slowly. Now safe to look away, Katsurou glanced at him and tilted his head curiously. Garm just hopped off of the bed and trotted through the half-open door. Katsurou shrugged slightly and went back to the game. There were more important things to worry about than his demon acting a little strangely. For one, he had just entered a boss room with critical health and no healing items.

Garm prowled quietly across the landing and down the stairs, hoping to catch whoever intruded by surprise. There was definitely someone. His senses never let him down before, and they were unlikely to start now. Garm followed the scent through the entrance hall next to the base of the staircase, through the kitchen and into the living room. Just as he stepped through the door to the living room, he looked up, then suddenly backed behind the wall, still watching. There was a wolf lying under the table and Garm wasn't sure if she saw him. He backed up further, out of sight, and called to Katsurou using telepathy.

Someone's here, he said. A wolf. Katsurou's only response was to grunt a quiet affirmative and say he would be right there. Garm didn't even bother to wait, he just stepped out into the living room and growled at the intruding wolf, demanding who she was. Katsurou's footsteps could be heard easily. He was always quite loud, at least to Garm's ears. Maybe he was just used to him. No one else ever seemed to hear him, or even see him. To the humans, he was invisible if he needed to be. To Garm, he was almost announcing himself to the world. Either way, it was only a few seconds before Katsurou arrived at Garm's side, glaring at the wolf. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword, just in case.

Kallik looked up at the demon dog, and then up at the human. They were loud and looked like beginners in the tamer league. She growled at the demon dog. She wasn't made to kill humans but she could certainly kill the demon belonging to the human. After a few minutes she put her head back on her paws and watched them, curiously and alertly. Her black eyes watched their every move but every once in a while the light would catch her eyes and silver specks in her eyes would brighten a bit.

Kallik watched them silently, then ever so slowly she stood up and turned around, lying back down under the table facing away from them. Her ears were layed flat against her skull, picking up any sounds the two strangers made.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jarren was sitting on the black leather couch in front of his flat screen T.V. deep in thought. He was angry the wolf wouldn't forget about his mother and that it had taken off, but then again he was feeling kind of down about what he said. Believe it or not, he actually missed having the demon wolf follow him around. Jarren stood up and walked toward the kitchen table. Lying on the clear glass table was the locator device to the thing his mother had implanted in Kallik. He thought he would never use it but just then he picked it up and turned it on. In the middle of the screen was a white blimp, on the other side of town.

Jarren was already in his car in less then a minute. He turned on the ignition and backed out of the garage. He rarely used his car but in no way was he going to walk to the other side of town. He drove and drove until the white blimp was only a few yards away... inside a stranger's house.

Kallik? Are you in there? Jarren was using telepathy to communicate with Kallik but he never used it before, mostly because it creeped him out. When he got no reply he got out of his black mustang and walked to the front door of the house. The door knob was bent and the door was slightly open. It looked like it just got mangled. He tapped his knuckles on the wooden door, pushing it open a bit. "Hello? Anybody here? Kallik?"

Kallik ignored Jarren's qustion when he used telepathy, but when she heard him his voice just outside's the house's door she jumped to her feet, hitting her head on the table. She let out a irrtated growl as she bolted out from underneath the table and up the stairs, hoping Jarren wouldn't see her. She turned into the room that belonged to Katsurou. She crawled under the bed and stayed there, listening for any sound that ment Jarren had found or spotted her.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

That's just the nature of a role play Arcanus, we can't control whether it lives or dies. What could've been done, however, was that a certain Game Master introduced something everyone could've been a part of. Sadly, something like that was neither introduced into the role play, nor was it actively discussed in this OOC thread.

I am willing to get this rolling again. But if that means a whole new re-make of this, then, no.

I suppose I'll just keep my fingers crossed for two more days. Who knows? Maybe space radiation will awaken this role play, and we can all continue without problem. Until then, It'll be up to either someone with a plan, or the Game Master to support this 'reviving' idea.

Cheers,

Archlkan

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

It is a shame. Star City Chronicles seems to have died as well. It seems that every RP I get interested in dies slowly and painfully. Let's at least try to revive it, yeah?

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

So, I'll try this again. Is there any hope of this continuing? I'll wait a few more days for a response, and if nothing has happened. Then I'll be calling it quits for this one. Shame, really. Because this could have easily been solved with a time skip to a more active plot...

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

It'd be nice if we could move on, but I don't mind. My character's in a good position to learn about when the plot begins and join in, after all. But I'll let you decide.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

Heh, Celldweller. It is a pretty good band, and song. (Although my favourite will always be 'My Own Little world.')

Anyway, I was wondering. Although I could post now, I am desperately holding off to do so. Why? Well, I am actually waiting until we are going to either 'move to a plot' or 'time skip'. All we have been doing is chatting, meeting other characters, and train. I am curious as to when we are beginning the Tamer League. I don't mean in-game time...

No, I mean when did you want to skip some pointless time, and go on with something interesting? Something we all can hop onto and ride with. (A.K.A: Moving towards the actual plot.)

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

I've just realized the theme song linked in the introduction is by Celldweller. Fuck yeah. Picked a pretty good song, too.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

lol, i can understand being sick sux like no tomorrow, and no this is not dead, I will get my post up some time tonight or tomorrow.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

Right, so the sequel to Tamer's Wars is up at:

www.roleplaygateway.com/roleplay/star-city-chronicles/

But I don't think that means that this one is dead. I'll try to get a post up eventually here, my sinuses are effed up something fierce, so it might not be for some time... Damn sinus.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

lol, our super post makes people scared.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

You did that too huh?

In hindsight, we could have probably split it up, I post half, Pheonix posted half...

Too late now!

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

yes!!!! the underground battle is finally over now we can get to the good stuff

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

I tend to be overzealous in my pursuit of the best martial arts in writing format.

Which is technogeek for Ashley is a badass, and it takes a lot of words to express it.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

lol no, i expect you to enjoy the fact that it is so long. me and Talisman did good work ^^

p.s. i only posted it so everyone would know how the fighting went, you don't have to read it unless you really want 2

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

Dark phoenix, do you expect me to read that? O.O Holy crap man.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

well seeing as this underground tourney has gone on to long, it will be me and you to see who fights Mad Max, after that we can finally get to station battles, after everyone gets their 4 station battles wins they can enter the league. and lets hope it doesn't end like The underground tourney.

to make sure we don't get to this problem till possibly the League, Station battles will be either 1 on 1 between the player and the station leader npc, or in the special case of Station 3, 2 on 2 between two npcs and two players.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

Because nothing beats the hell out of a heated debate. That being said, who's my next contestant.contestant

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

Oh, oh! Staring contest! Do a staring contest! lol... sorry. I was just expressing my opinion. *offers apology-cookie*

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

boring??? I felt action was quite nice and added a flare to it.. guess i should have made it all talking then that would have been exciting, people talking each other into submission.

Re: [OOC] Tamer Wars

You never decided! Liar! You just went with the flow! you are a fu- .... Oh wait, lol. Forget this, wasn't directed at anyone. blame my randomness. Anyway, long post is long DarkPhoenix. And boring to read. Doh! I apologize, even if I crossed it out. But I just had to put it that bluntly. Never mind, forget about that crossed sentence. Just me getting my opinion out in the open. (xD)
