||Personality||
Meiya is a very cheerful girl. Ever since she was a child, she would always seem very happy and very positive. In fact, she likes to look on the bright side of everything, even if that bright side is very small. Some people might find her cheerfulness or optimism somewhat annoying, but she brushes these things off easily. When she sees those that she loves in a down mood, she always tries to cheer them up (though she is not very good at giving advice). Meiya is very friendly, easily approaching people and getting to know them. Sheâs a fiercely loyal friend, always protecting the ones she loves. She loves a challenge, and would never turn one down â even if it seems too much for her. Because of this, she has learned to always get back up whenever sheâs down; often times, she takes off more than she can chew and fails. She doesnât let this get her down. Along with being ever-cheerful, Meiya is also always full of energy. If sheâs not doing something, she gets antsy. And when she gets antsy, he gets annoying; she often bothers people to entertain her or wanders off to entertain herself. This has landed her in trouble a few times; she really means well and doesnât like to annoy people on purposeâŠsometimes, it just happens. Overall, she likes to be friends with everyone if she can.
Occasionally, Meiya gets into an angry or sad mood, but she rarely allows her friends to see it. When feeling down, she often isolates herself or suppresses the feeling until she has some time to be alone. If sheâs hurt emotionally while sheâs around people, she might try to hide it by being overly sarcastic or saying some mean things herself, though this is very out of character for her usual self. Unless sheâs talking to the enemy, that is â she loves taunting the enemy. A good attack starts with words, right?
||History||
Meiya was the oldest of three. She had a younger brother, and an even younger sister. Their parents worked hard to provide for the three of them, but neither of them had very high paying jobs. Still, it wasnât like they were poor â just lower middle class. Meiya made her home in Boston, Massachusetts, and she came to really enjoy the city regardless of their wealth. Often times, she was left to care for her two younger siblings while her parents were at work. When she did get some free time, it wasnât like the family had much technology at their home. Though she did have a lot of friends growing up, she also to spend time wandering and exploring the city (a habit that none of her friends shared â they saw the danger in it, after all). Perhaps it was then that Meiya learned to run so fast. Numerous times, she was approached by less than respectful men. When that happened, she took any opportunity she had to run away, knowing she couldnât possibly fight them off herself. She had discovered several safe hiding spots or buildings in the city, having marked them on her mental map.
In academics, Meiya wasâŠaverage. She was never the top of the class, but never the bottom. It became clear throughout her high school career that she wasnât fated to go on to great things. She would never discover the cure for cancer, nor would she develop the next biggest thing in technology. She would do something that everyone does â probably sit in a cubicle all day, doing paperwork or something. Not a life that she would have chosen for herself. So as high school graduation neared, she sought out a way to escape her destiny. She wanted to be out, be active. She had way too much energy to be stuck inside all day. Still, she knew she needed to do something, and she was running out of time.
One day, as she was strolling the city (as per usual), she found herself approached by a group of rowdy looking men. They cornered her in the back of an alley. Things looked bad, she knew, but she talked smack, tried to scare them away with her words. She gave them attitude and everything. And though she did take a couple of punches, she was able to slip away â and once she was running, there was no way they could catch her. Little did she know that an associate of Redmond Mann had watched the entire thing. The next day, she received a call from Reliable Excavation Demolition, asking if she would like to work for them on a secret task. They said she was exactly what they were looking for â the right mix of speed with a bit of attitude, and that her energy would be put to good use. Seeing this as an escape from her desk sitting fate, she readily accepted. It wasnât long before she arrived at the base, and sheâs one of the newest members of the team.
