||Personality||
Meiya is a very cheerful girl. Ever since she was a child, she would always seem very happy and very positive. In fact, she likes to look on the bright side of everything, even if that bright side is very small. Some people might find her cheerfulness or optimism somewhat annoying, but she brushes these things off easily. When she sees those that she loves in a down mood, she always tries to cheer them up (though she is not very good at giving advice). Meiya is very friendly, easily approaching people and getting to know them. She’s a fiercely loyal friend, always protecting the ones she loves. She loves a challenge, and would never turn one down – even if it seems too much for her. Because of this, she has learned to always get back up whenever she’s down; often times, she takes off more than she can chew and fails. She doesn’t let this get her down. Along with being ever-cheerful, Meiya is also always full of energy. If she’s not doing something, she gets antsy. And when she gets antsy, he gets annoying; she often bothers people to entertain her or wanders off to entertain herself. This has landed her in trouble a few times; she really means well and doesn’t like to annoy people on purpose
sometimes, it just happens. Overall, she likes to be friends with everyone if she can.

Occasionally, Meiya gets into an angry or sad mood, but she rarely allows her friends to see it. When feeling down, she often isolates herself or suppresses the feeling until she has some time to be alone. If she’s hurt emotionally while she’s around people, she might try to hide it by being overly sarcastic or saying some mean things herself, though this is very out of character for her usual self. Unless she’s talking to the enemy, that is – she loves taunting the enemy. A good attack starts with words, right?

||History||
Meiya was the oldest of three. She had a younger brother, and an even younger sister. Their parents worked hard to provide for the three of them, but neither of them had very high paying jobs. Still, it wasn’t like they were poor – just lower middle class. Meiya made her home in Boston, Massachusetts, and she came to really enjoy the city regardless of their wealth. Often times, she was left to care for her two younger siblings while her parents were at work. When she did get some free time, it wasn’t like the family had much technology at their home. Though she did have a lot of friends growing up, she also to spend time wandering and exploring the city (a habit that none of her friends shared – they saw the danger in it, after all). Perhaps it was then that Meiya learned to run so fast. Numerous times, she was approached by less than respectful men. When that happened, she took any opportunity she had to run away, knowing she couldn’t possibly fight them off herself. She had discovered several safe hiding spots or buildings in the city, having marked them on her mental map.

In academics, Meiya was
average. She was never the top of the class, but never the bottom. It became clear throughout her high school career that she wasn’t fated to go on to great things. She would never discover the cure for cancer, nor would she develop the next biggest thing in technology. She would do something that everyone does – probably sit in a cubicle all day, doing paperwork or something. Not a life that she would have chosen for herself. So as high school graduation neared, she sought out a way to escape her destiny. She wanted to be out, be active. She had way too much energy to be stuck inside all day. Still, she knew she needed to do something, and she was running out of time.

One day, as she was strolling the city (as per usual), she found herself approached by a group of rowdy looking men. They cornered her in the back of an alley. Things looked bad, she knew, but she talked smack, tried to scare them away with her words. She gave them attitude and everything. And though she did take a couple of punches, she was able to slip away – and once she was running, there was no way they could catch her. Little did she know that an associate of Redmond Mann had watched the entire thing. The next day, she received a call from Reliable Excavation Demolition, asking if she would like to work for them on a secret task. They said she was exactly what they were looking for – the right mix of speed with a bit of attitude, and that her energy would be put to good use. Seeing this as an escape from her desk sitting fate, she readily accepted. It wasn’t long before she arrived at the base, and she’s one of the newest members of the team.

||Anything Else?||
Meiya is left handed. Also, she enjoys playing ball with the team on their off days. She prefers to be called Mei or Scout.

It was another bright and early day for those inside the RED base. Okay, well, at least it was early. There was no way that they would be able to sleep in late. Ever. Whether it was one of her teammates screaming at them to get up and get ready or an announcement over the loudspeaker, Meiya always found herself dragging her half asleep body out of the bed before it wanted to leave. Being one of the younger ones there, she offered to take one of the top bunks. Not that she minded at all; she thought they were a lot of fun. Judging by the amount of light that was streaming through the windows (or not), Meiya assumed that it was still very early. That, and the fact that she could still count the body of every other teammate still laying in bed. First one up!

Even though she was still really groggy, she was able to shimmy down the side, back onto solid ground. The blond Scout turned toward the showers, walking slowly and zombie-like. She turned on the faucet to luke warm, standing under the stream of water for a few moments before actually moving to clean herself. When she was done, she patted herself dry and slipped on her uniform. Nothing like a fresh set of clothes to start the day! And with her new clean feeling came a wave of energy. Being her, this energy would last her all day. In fact, it would probably only increase as the day went on. Meiya just wasn’t much of a morning person.

Meiya trotted along happily now, the dreary walk she had earlier long gone by now. She entered the small kitchen portion of the bunker, making her way toward the fridge. Gotta eat, gotta eat. Of course, she wasn’t about to cook for herself; for one, she was an awful cook and she didn’t want to burn the base down. And secondly, there were leftovers from dinner the night before, which had been prepared by the Medic. If she didn’t eat some now, she probably wouldn’t get any (some of the people here had the biggest appetites). So she scooped some of the leftover food onto a plate and grabbed a fork from the drawer. She didn’t bother heating it up. Instead, she plopped the plate down at the table, took a seat, and shoveled in a mouthful of food.
