{Height}
Jo stands at a pretty decent five feet and seven inches.

{Build}
Accompanying her above average height, Jo's physique has always been rather slender with very soft curves. The light definition in her arms and long legs comes from years of gymnastics and doing track.

{Skin Tone}
Naturally light and creamy with light peach tones in her cheeks, Jo's skin also holds a very light tan and tans quite easily during the summer.

{Hair Color}
Chesnut brown with very subtle highlights

{Eye Color}
They are a medium, warm brown around the pupils with more golden rays and flecks of green around the irises.

{Scars/Tattoos/Piercings}
Other than her ear piercings, Jo has no other piercings or tattoos. She does have a few faded scars on her arms and her legs from where hunters tried taunting her for information. She has a very faint scar on the right side of her head, on the hairline, from those same hunters. There is also the slightest hint of freckles at the tip of her nose.

{Personality}

{Compassionate, Protective, Self-Deprecating, Stubborn, Intelligent, Warm}

By nature, Jo has always been a rather compassionate and warm soul. Never to turn a person or creature down if they needed her help, she can be considered one of the go-to people in the Green family. While a few of the others might warrant wary stares and maybe a hint of suspicion, she has always been rather welcoming and friendly. This is what her mother trained her to be - the seemingly easy target. Someone who could easily talk to people. Someone no one would ever suspect. Someone who could be the eyes and ears of the family.

While she genuinely does like meeting new people, it is not always because she requires constant human interaction. Truthfully, despite how open she appears, Jo is actually a lot more closed off and quiet, always opting to observe in large crowds rather than be the life of a party. Which is why she has only ever had a handful of good and truly close friends. Her being an outgoing person is typically used to elicit information, to be able to be there - in the midst of the drama and chaos - and gain information without anyone suspecting a thing. She even, if necessary, chooses particular friends based upon how useful they might turn out to be. Manipulative, yes, but when it comes down to it, this is all about keeping her family safe - even if it means putting herself in danger, much to their chagrin.

You see, while her brother may be the alpha and generally the one who takes care of the family financially, Jo contends herself to being caretaker in terms of being an ever-present face, health and emotional-wise. In her eyes, she needs to be something - do something. So, she pushed herself in school, harder than either of her parents ever asked her. She did careful research on mythological creatures and herbs. She decided that she wants to go to veterinarian school. She does all these things because she feels inadequate in a family filled with werewolves - people who can do more than a normal human. She hates making mistakes and is always her hardest critic, only because she wants to be whatever her family needs her to be. If that means ignoring her own pains and putting herself on the line, then so be it. In her eyes, she is not that important. All that matters is her family.

{History}
Picture this: husband and wife, Kayla and Mark Green, both relatively attractive people having their first-born. All werewolves, they were unique amongst a town filled with normal human beings. And then imagine Kayla being pregnant and when she gives birth...oh, snap! Baby girl isn't a werewolf. Do you know how utterly disappointing that was for Jo? Knowing that her senses would never be heightened, that she would not be able to knock a chick's lights out without really trying, or that she wouldn't exactly have all the gifts and struggles that came with being like her family. For the majority of her life, she felt displaced and no matter how much Kayla tried to comfort her, it didn't work. And so how did she take that feeling of unworthiness and displacement?

Jo worked her ass off to never be a burden on her family. She was dutiful in her studies just like her brother, Clark. She learned about the various forms of wolfsbane and why hunters used them. She learned how to treat wounds, for both humans and those of dog relations (ie. her family). She learned to cook to take the stress off her mom. By the time she was fifteen and Clark was getting ready to graduate, Jo was already a member of the National Honor Society, involved in the organization in the nearby city. She would have agreed to even graduate an entire year early when a group of hunters, somewhat inexperienced, kidnapped her. It was a friend, someone she trusted, and whose house Jo was supposed to spend the night. But when she didn't come home, her Dad called to her telepathically. That was the only attribute from her parents' werewolf genes that she had, though it is faint and only comes in times of need. They tested her; she wasn't a werewolf. So, they just fucked with her, knowing that eventually her father would come. And he did - and killed every last one of them. It should have pleased her. They had stabbed Jo and taunted her for her inability to transform. But it didn't.

It was the first day she learned to fear her Dad.

Two years later, Mark had become worse. But Jo tried distracting her siblings; she would use money from her own job and take them to the movies. The only one she ever confided her fears in was Clark. While not being the sociable one, she depended on him. But then Kayla left on business and never came back. That alone aroused suspicion and when she asked Mark, he actually growled and snapped at her; his eyes had bled red and she thought, for a second, he would hit her. She never told Clark. And then there was the camping trip from hell where their father revealed that he did kill Kayla and that he was going to kill them. And even though she should have grieved more - should have tried pleading with him to remember that they were his babies - there was a sort of sick satisfaction that rankled below the pain when Clark ripped their father's throat out.

Now, they're in a new town. Suspicions were aroused back home. Too many people were questioning them, especially the seemingly antisocial Clark. So, Jo hid her acceptance letter from Brown, applied for a nearby college, and took to watching out for her younger siblings as best as she could while Clark worked. It's not easy and while her internship at the local veterinarian clinic only aids in her dream, Jo still thinks about where she could have been. She just won't tell them.

So begins...

ImageThe first day of school.

Augustine hated it. The school part was fine, but the thought of it being her first day was rather intimidating. She wanted nothing more than to run out the front door that brought her into this nerve-racking environment, and instead go home where her room was waiting for her. However, her older brother, Clark, taught history at this school- the class Augustine was in- and if she left now he'd be infuriated with her. If not disappointed.

Her first class, AP Statistics, seemed almost endless. Was it because the first day was always the dullest, or because everything this teacher was teaching was fairly basic to her: collection, organization, analysis, interpretation. She was already familiar with the concepts. Although it was all comforting...and repetitive, she still managed to pay at least a little attention for respect of her teacher.

When the bell finally rang, a nasal buzzing sound, she rose from her seat, grabbed her bag, and was out the door before anyone else was out of their seat. The halls were already crowded with teenagers slamming their lockers shut, and chatting in their usual groups. Some took a glance at Augustine and immediately gossiped. "Who is that?" One of them said. It was only a whisper, but it was clear enough for Augustine to overhear. "I heard she's that new teacher, Mr.Green's, sister." "No way! She looks too...solitary to be related to a guy like him." The conversation went on as Augustine tried to remain hidden within her hair allowing it to drop as a dark curtain between the other students gossiping about her sudden arrival.

When she entered her history classroom, she seen Clark in front of the room, failing to be as solemn as the other teacher's appeared to be as he straightened the tie to his suit. She couldn't help but give him a little chuckle at his attempt. Poor, Clark she thought.

As she walked down the aisle to an empty desk in the front, she noticed there in the far back corner her little brother, Joseph, tapping his thumbs on the screen of his phone and glared at him for always being inattentive before she straighted out the skirt to her outfit and took her seat.

Class didn't start for a few minutes and when it did, Clark began his first lecture "Morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Green and I'll be your World History teacher for this semester. I know with everything going on, it may be hard to concentrate, but please try and stay with me..." At that, Augustine was prepared for her first day with her own brother being her teacher.

Did you hear about the body? They think its an animal attack - the body was ripped apart! Oh yeah, Tracy from Bio. Isn't her brother a freshman? Yeah, it's so sad.

It was sad and near impossible to have a productive class. Luckily, her Bio teacher cancelled at the last minute, distraught over the recent incident. Apparently, she was really close to this Tracy chick. Well, there goes the start to her first day! And here Jo thought it would be a normal day then again, if your name is Joanna Green and you just so happen to have the stain of your parents' absences in yours and your siblings' lives - oh, and you come from a family of werewolves - normal is a near impossible feat.

Having given herself a tour of the campus some days prior, Jo seamed through the hords of students rather smoothly, seemingly unaffected by the death of one of their own. It was still somewhat early and she was really killing time by walking aimlessly with a macchiato in her hand. Jo took a long drink of the steaming liquid, the salty caramel mixed with strong espresso coating her tongue in a delicate balance of robustness and sweetness.

"Wow, I really like your skirt," a random girl - a pretty little thing with short black hair - commented from a bench with a redhead female. Jo fleetingly appraised her attire; she had always had a weakness for the bohemian and gypsy influences, though she sometimes went a bid darker. She smiled, glad that at least someone could treat this day normally.

"Oh, thanks. I'm Joanna by the way."

The voice of the intercom replayed in Auggie's head like a recorder: "This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you." At that moment, the classroom began to fill with students prattling on about the school being closed for the day, while some immediately began dialing their parents to inform them about the incident. Auggie just sat back observing in on all the commotion that was going around.
Suspicious circumstances? She wondered what Principal West had meant by that. He didn't say why or what the occurrence was. He just left her there, curious in the position.

"They found a body near our school," she overheard someone say. "An animal or something.." Body?.. Animal? She stood from her seat to ask Clark- knowing that he of all people had the answers to what she was seeking- when someone had bumped right into her causing her to fall back. However, she felt the arms of someone from behind catching and lifting her back to her feet. She hadn't looked up to see who it was, just bowed her head in embarrassment and muttered to them an incoherent 'thank you' before proceeding on to Clark.

"What is it about this "body" that's going around?" she asked him.

"Wait, so all classes are cancelled today?" Jo wondered aloud, pausing in her stroll around the small campus with the two females she met earlier. One's name was Anna and the other, Lavender. They were making sure that she knew where all of her classes were being held and even about registering some of them as her online courses.

"Yeah, apparently a few of the local shops are closed too," Anna told her, showing Jo the text message from the girl's group of friends. Immediately, concern hit her and Joanna pulled out her cell phone. From what she gathered, the body was found not too far from the high school and the majority of her family members were there now.

To: Clark, Joseph, & Auggie
Message:
Hey! Everyone ok? Classes are cancelled. Body found. Checking it out soon.

No doubt, Clark would probably disagree with her trying to get anywhere near where the attack happened, but Anna's interest was peeked and it kinda helped that her Dad was a Deputy. An excuse like wanting to check on him was viable enough for the moment. All Jo needed was a few moments to look, to observe. And if the body was still there, they might be able to see a few things.

If the Sheriff didn't make sure that everyone kept their distance.

Nodding to Anna and Lavender, Joanna allowed them to lead her off the campus. It was only about a twenty minute walk to the high school and the woody area nearby. During that time, Jo learned that the Sheriff was a Volks and that she had a few kids in school. Nothing too important, nothing to be particularly worried about for now, but it was good to know. Jo kept the two girls talking, especially about the veterinarian clinic. It was the only one in town and the doctor who worked there was said to be rather...intimidating, at best. The older woman did have a rather disconcerting tone, near emotionless if Jo truly thought about it. They were at the location before she could process the travel.

And what a sight it was!

The police tape was out, separating the small crowd of people from the actual scene. It definitely wasn't that far from the school; Jo could see the back of the building and the small area of the parking lot along with a few benches and tables where the kids probably could eat lunch. Her eyes took in the dark and dead leaves on the ground, the brown overshadowing what should have been green. It was a dreary sight, especially considering that the sun decided to play hide-and-seek with the clouds.

"Oh my God, poor Tracy!" Anna exclaimed, a delicate hand over her tiny mouth and Jo followed her line of vision, cringing at the sight of the near mangled body atop the crunchy leaves. The girl was pale, paler than she probably was in real life. Her body was twisted at an awkward angle at the hips, as if she had tried to turn but the force of whatever attacked her had snapped her spine. Her face was tilted towards the sky, eyes stuck in a forever staring contest with the clouds. Her mouth was ajar too, as if she herself were surprised by her death. But her chest was the sight that truly surprised Jo. The four slashes on her chest were deep and she could tell, even from here, that the cuts had reached her ribcage; you could see the white of the bone peeking out from the red of her blood and maroon of her dress.

"What could she have been doing out here?" Jo asked quietly. She noted the uneasy expression on Lavender's face; the pretty redhead looked like she was ready to vomit. It wasn't too horrific of a sight, but it was enough to affect the most sensitive of stomachs.

"I don't know. Tracy liked...researching and if you go further up the hill, you'll reach the peek. You can see the whole town and lights from the nearest city." Jo nodded absentmindedly, eyes trained on the figure looming over the body. The woman's dark hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall of black silk, green eyes fixed on the dead corpse. The gloved hand traced over the wound gingerly. As if sensing someone's gaze, her own eyes rose to meet Joanna's inquisitive stare and the cold gaze caused Jo's breath to catch in her throat.

She had a feeling she just met her boss.

Other kids had started to file out of their classrooms. Most of them, upon reaching the doors, headed to cars, parents, siblings or whoever was free to collect them, but Violet smiled to see that there were a couple who started heading in the direction of the woods, enough that one more wouldn't draw too much attention. She ran and grabbed her bike, before cycling to the woods. It wasn't long, once she was among the trees, before police lights caught her eyes. She followed them to find herself amongst a small throng of people, next to a small group of girls, staring at the body. Violet heard an exhausted sigh from one of the deputies, which made her chuckle as she tried to work her way to the front. She'd only been in this town, what, three weeks? And the cops were already sick of her. Finally, Violet got a good view of the crime scene, and her face went stony and calm.

She looked over at Tracy's body, and had a pretty good inkling that the carnage wasn't the kind seen in animal attacks. Indiana didn't have any large predators, for a start. The body's position, with her torn chest skyward, but legs askew, suggested an impact more in line with a car accident. Violet frowned. But this part of the forest was away from the road, and the ground didn't show any sign of a recent dragging. She stood on her toes, to try to examine the wound from the distance, when the body's pristine neck caught Violet's eye. Didn't predators go for the neck, not the chest? Violet shifted her weight a little. The wound was too big for any animal native to Indiana, but it... Didn't look all that horrible. It would certainly raise alarm at the A and E, but, by itself, it wouldn't kill. Cause of death was probably the impact then. Going by the lack of blood trail, and a couple of broken branches around, that happened first. Well, at least the girl didn't suffer?

But all that didn't help much with finding the bastard who'd done it. Violet tried a different angle. What would make someone maim another person this way? The obvious choice was 'Crazy', but that wasn't going to help her. Maybe they hoped to get away with a Hit and Run? No, no Hit-and-Runner would go to all that trouble. They couldn't have been trying to hide who it was, they would have torn up her face, not her chest, and the damage would have been more dramatic. Four slashes, could that mean something?

Clark should have guessed the students would have reacted the way they did. He remembered high school and if something as odd and interesting as an animal attack happened near his school, there was no chance in hell the student body would keep mum about it or worry too much as to call their ride home before gossiping up a storm. It wasn't long after the students started theorizing before his sister stood up to approach him, falling for a moment, but being caught by the boy next to her. As soon as Auggie reached him, Clark was officially in what Joseph called his "alpha mode".

"They found one close. Another one so quickly is not a good sign." Clark couldn't help but sweat a bit as he spoke. He didn't like this set of circumstances, especially since the Greens had a particularly fresh set of targets painted on their backs. All he could do was stay calm and make sure his siblings didn't notice his nerves.

"You guys don't think that it's a-- uhh, like, a certain thing with claws and stuff..." Joseph trailed off, scowling. "You know what I mean. Is it?"

"Could be. All I know is that we need to figure out what it is and soon." Clark spoke in an alarmed and subtle tone, trying not to speak above a decibel the other students would hear. He had noticed the various students leaving the class and assumed they had gotten their rides and were leaving. Only one girl worried Clark and her sister was the one who approached soon after. "Hi, I'm Katilyn Volks... My sister, Tayden Volks was the girl who just... ran out? If you can even call it that... anyway. I'm going to go after her. I'm assuming we're getting detention for this, so what day should we come in?"

[color=#135194]"Well forget about it for today. Just be careful and watch out, out there." he said, giving a knowing nod as he did so. Kaitlyn had to take care of her family and Clark could respect that, seeing as most of his life for the past few years had been taking care of Auggie, Joseph, and Joanna. But still, this girl was different. Clark could tell it from not only the way she carried herself but also her scent as it wasn't completely human to say the least. He was about to make a remark to his siblings, but was interrupted by the rumbling of the phone still in his hand with a message from Joanna;

To: Clark, Joseph, & Auggie
Message:
Hey! Everyone ok? Classes are cancelled. Body found. Checking it out soon.

It took him a few moments to form a response, but eventually, Clark found the right words, putting in effort to make sure Kaitlyn didn't glimpse the screen;

To: Joanna, Joseph, and Auggie
Message:
Everyone's fine. Second body, I think. I think we have a wolf among us if you catch my meaning. A student, maybe. Does the name Volk sound familiar.

The staring contest that went on between Joanna and the strange woman with green eyes was cut off only by the sheriff's annoyance, the woman barking out orders for people to clear out. But Joanna glanced at the redhead who had randomly appeared and clamored to the front of the group, observing the body closely. Jo's head tilted slightly in curiosity and while her two new friends began to walk away, claiming that they needed a distraction from all of this, she made her way forward. But her eyes were not on the body any longer. That wouldn't help them, not unless Clark and the others were here to sniff the site out. She was looking for something more...concrete, a clue of some kind. Before she could get any closer to the yellow tape, her phone buzzed for attention and she plucked it out of her pocket.

Joanna's eyes widened just slightly at Clark's message before her smooth brow furrowed just slightly in contemplation, lips pursed just-so. Volks...Volks sounded very familiar. In fact, if Joanna was not mistaken, Volks was the name of the -

"Step any further, young lady, and you'll be interrupting our investigation," a woman with a very sharp gaze and a voice that reminded Joanna too much of Kayla Green when her mother was irritated. Despite herself, Joanna could feel the beginnings of feeling like she had been chastised by her mother and even a small inch of grief at the memory of her mother never coming home. Blinking that away, she caught the tail ends of the woman dressed in uniform her speaking very sharply to the redhead she had seen earlier. "And this has nothing to do with you either, Miss Dignam."

Feeling a little braver, Joanna observed the woman, starting with the dark blonde of her hair and the seriousness in her gaze. She radiated authority and power, something reminiscent to Clark that took a long time for Jo to get used to once he became the Alpha. Once glance at the woman's golden badge and Joanna knew she was one to be respected.

"Yeah, uh...sorry, umm..." If she was right, then the woman before her was -

"Sheriff Volks." Joanna nodded, smiling gently. The woman was watching her as much as Jo was watching her, both sizing the other up. If Clark was right and his assumptions usually weren't, could the woman before her really be a werewolf? "Now, get - the both of you." Joanna walked away before shooting the others another text.

To: Clark, Auggie, and Joseph
Message: Yep, and I just met the mom. She's the Sheriff.

Finally, Violet spotted the Sheriff. Oh joy.

The older woman started yelling at the small crowd that had gathered, ordering them to clear out. She made her way over to where Violet, and the last remaining girl from the trio Violet had followed, were standing. Violet glanced at the girl, and realised she had been heading for the tape for a closer look. Violet straightened up and gave her best "Who me?" grin, as Sheriff Volks reached the girls.
"Step any further, young lady, and you'll be interrupting our investigation," She said to the other girl, and turned to Violet with an annoyed expression. "And this has nothing to do with you either, Miss Dignam." Violet gave an exaggerated shrug, raising her hands in a placating manner, but she never took her eyes off the Sheriff. She tried to communicate in her look that she knew that the body behind the tape wasn't killed by an animal, without saying it aloud.
"Well, I'm sorry, Sheriff, I can't help myself. It's a real problem, I should work on that." She said. Just then, the other girl blinked back to reality.
"Yeah, uh...sorry, umm..." She said, oh so elopuently. Sheriff Volks helpfully provided her name, before telling the two girls to leave.

Violet jogged over to the other girl, just as she finished messing with her phone. She fell into step with her and leaned over slightly. Any girl who was willing to go for the tape when presented with a mystery was a girl Violet could respect, seeing as Violet herself was such a girl.
"If the sheriff's here, that means that the second body is only guarded by deputies." She commented in a low voice, for only the other girl to hear. "Just FYI." She picked up her pace a little, with a small smile. She'd just have to grab her bike and head back to school, see if there were any similarities between the scenes. And if the other girl chose to start in her own investigation, well, they do say two heads are better than one...
"Pierce! Radio the deputies at the second site to keep an eye out for teenagers." Yelled the Sheriff to one of her deputies. Violet spun around with a look on her face that was simultaneously affronted, surprised and annoyed.
"Oh come on!" She yelled back. She turned back around and scrubbed her hands over her face.
"Damn woman's got ears like a bat..." She muttered, so much under her breath even Violet herself could barely understand. However, even with the fact that the deputies would be on the lookout, Violet had her methods. If she had to, she could work around it, and there was still plenty of daylight left in the day.

Garret had been pretty optimistic about the school day ahead of him. The raging rumours about a body of a college student in the woods was upsetting, and he'd need to keep an eye on her little brother, should the poor kid cross Garret's path. Even so, Garret hadn't really thought anything would be going on, especially in the wake of such a tragedy. He was pretty surprised when he realised that, second period, they had a different History teacher. As the class was starting, an announcement went out about the classes being cancelled. Well, dang. He stood up with the other students, wondering about what was going on, when a slight weight bumped into him from behind. He turned to find a redhead sneaking behind him towards the door. It took him a second to remember her name.
"Digna--" He started to say, keeping his voice low, since she was pretty obviously trying not to draw attention to her break for freedom. The redhead put a finger to her lips, and Garret shut his mouth with a click.
"Two suspicious bodies in two days? Not normal." She replied. Garret frowned, but kept quiet as she slipped out the door.

That worried Garret, all through him texting his mom, informing her that he'd bring his little sister, Lucy, home with him while she went to pick up the youngest, Jeannie, from Middle School. It kept worrying him as he went and got Lucy from her class and brought her home in his car. Two bodies in two days wasn't normal, but he wasn't really sure if there was anything more that could actually be done about it. Still, his eyes started drifting to every shadowy spot alongside the road. The house was also deserted when he and Lucy got there, which he certainly felt didn't help matters at all.
