January 13, 2011 - Woodlynne High School/Woodlynne, Indiana - Two Days Till the Full Moon

Clark had made all the preparations he needed for what came next. He made sure to actively hide his scent as well as checked his eyes to double check their usual blue tone. His clothes and black heavy coat were clean andImagehis satchel had all the plans for his first day of teaching at Woodlynne High. The entire town was on edge since the body of a local college student was found in the woods, seemingly maimed by a wild animal and this fact put the entire Green family on edge. As the new family in town, Clark knew they were going to be at least persons of interest. So Clark saw it as his job to blend in and seem as normal as possible.

As he walked away from the bathroom mirror and out the door, he walked with as much confidence and authority as he could muster, drawing more then a few glances and whispers from both students and teachers alike. This however didn't bother the Alpha as he shrugged off the thought and entered a room freshly marked with his name in black lettering. Clark quickly placed his bag on the desk and looked around the room, noticing that all eyes were on him.

"Morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Green and I'll be your World History teacher for this semester. I know with everything going on, it may be hard to concentrate, but please try and stay with me." Clark stated as he placed a piece of chalk between his fingers and wrote his name on the board, followed by the word 'history' below it and a question mark. "What is history? It is past. It is prologue and it is memory. We learn history to learn from our mistakes as a civilization and as the saying goes, those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

....................................

The first class went by with a flash. Clark could barely remember what had happened or what exactly he said, but before he knew it, the students picked up their books and various bags and walked out of the room. Left alone in the empty classroom, the new teacher decided to check the role sheet for his next class that had been placed by one of the teachers earlier. As he read, he took off his large coat and placed it on the back of his leather wheeled chair, taking in every name;

Wendy Bennet
David Cavell
Violet Dignam
Emily Fleur
Augustine Green
Joseph Green
John Houston
Frank Kenneth
Abigail Mira
Belle Montgomery
Danielle North
Garret Nuit
Richard Parker
Ron Rice
Tayden Volk
Katilyn Volk

While Clark was worried about having his little sister in one of his classes, he had prepared for the inevitably and knew his sister wouldn't give him too much trouble, unlike his brother. If worse came to worse however, he could talk to the principal about it. His stream of thought however was interrupted by various teenagers coming in and taking their seats and from what he could tell, each name on the list had been accounted for.

"Good morning everyone. My name, as you can see, is Mr. Green. This is World History..." he said with a calm demeanor, not even acknowledging his brother and sister in the room.

January 13, 2011 - 7:35 A.M. - Woodlynne National Park/Woodlynne, Indiana

Tayden woke up on a park bench, in the same clothes she wore the day before. Her throat was a little hoarse, but she'd remedy that as soon as she got to school. Honestly she was surprised she wasn't abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by one of the local police, but she assumed she just went unnoticed as usual. Wow, just like the house.. She thought with a mildly bitter chuckle. She put her bag over her shoulder and made her way toward the high school. She took in a deep breath, smelling cookies and freshly baked bread. Today is going to be another wonderful day in the town of Boreville. She thought sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Aside from recent murders, this place is always at a comatose-level of boredom.

January 13, 2011 - 7:50 A.M. - Woodlynne High School/Woodlynne, Indiana

She opened the front doors to Woodlynne High School, filing in line with the rest of the other students. Tayden Volks, a high school junior, trudged to her locker. Staring at locker 66, her hand twisted in the combination in a lifeless fashion. She hadn't had her morning coffee, and she was stiff, everywhere. Sleeping on a park bench definitely isn't good on the spine. Maybe I can ask to stay at Trent's.. She smiled, remembering to finally check her phone....

'No messages'

It instantly brought the first positive look of the morning back into a depressed droop. Seriously..? You're ignoring me right now? Just who were you with last night?? She sighed and typed a quick message to him, sending it. I hate being the first one to text... every time.

Image

Sometimes I think he doesn't even care..She shook her head, pocketing her phone. She proceeded in grabbing her change of clothes from her locker along with her Chemistry and history book. She made haste to enter the bathroom, changing in one of the stalls and shoving her clothes into her bag. Straightening out the belt of her outfit, she went to her first class. ((OUTFIT HERE))

She tapped her pen against her notebook nearly her entire first class, sighing to herself. I want to give Katilyn her birthday present... Like, now. She thought to herself irritably. She decided to be more productive and began drawing instead. She at least drew something relative to the class, working on a strand of DNA when the bell finally rang ((DOODLE HERE))

She sprang from her seat, notebook and school bag in tow. She was one of the first to enter Clark's class, grabbing a seat near the back, right next to the windows and placing a wrapped up gift on the seat in front of her, obviously it was someone's birthday, and she obviously was saving their seat.

"Good morning everyone. My name, as you can see, is Mr. Green. This is World History..."

Image Her hazel eyes examined him, for a moment judging him. He's a bit young to be a teacher isn't he..? She thought to herself, quirking an eyebrow. I didn't know that we were getting a new teacher this year.. He looks younger than even Trent.. She thought, biting her bottom lip. Not to mention he's got an awkward allure to him.

"Katilyn... Where are you...?" She whispered under her breath, chewing on her lip nervously. You're seriously skipping class the third day of school? She ran a hand through her hair, stealthily texting her sister.

Before his first class had even started, Joseph knew that the day was going to suck. How did he know? Well, his older brother, Clark, started his first day of teaching that morning, (and as if some higher being was trying to punish them both) and just so happened to be Joseph's history teacher. Not only that, but their sister Augustine was in the class as well.

How great was that? (Answer: not so great)

His first class dragged by slowly. Four times did he get told to stop staring off into space or to stop interrupting and to focus on the lesson, but the simple instructions didn't get to him. After he asked another 'unreasonable question' and was told to remain silent, Joseph fixed his attention on the wall clock. One minute, four, ten... fifteen. He glanced back at the board, but whatever was written on it now had no meaning to him. Impatiently, Joseph let out a sigh and began tapping his fingers on his desk.

When the bell rang, Joseph was the first one who snatched his bag from the ground and shot up to his feet. He would have been the first to leave, too, but as he headed for the doorway to teacher call him over to speak with her.

"Joseph," She started. "I know it's only your third day, but you really need to start paying attention. I appreciate you asking questions, but it's obvious you're not trying to follow along. Trust me when I tell you that it'easy to fall behind in this grade. I want to see you be able to keep up. . . blah blah blah. Words." The rest of her sentence trailed off into a blur as Joseph stopped listening. When her lips stopped moving, though, the boy gave a nod and a quick smile.

"Right, uh." Joseph said. "I'll try to." Whether or not he would, the teacher would find out tomorrow. (Hint: he wouldn't)

As he walked out of class, Joseph wished that he had made an effort to talk to someone during his first few days at the new school. As of the current moment, he didn't recognize anyone's face unless they lived in the same house as him, and being the guy who was buddies with his siblings wasn't the reputation Joseph wanted. Then again, being the guy with no buddies at all wasn't exactly ideal, either.

He adjusted his bag and headed off to his next class.

History. If there was one thing that Joseph hated more than math, it was learning about civil wars and ancient Greeks. Hardly anyone needed to know that kind of stuff, but everyone had to be taught it for some stupid reason. It was cool to hear about the buildings of civilization and the slaughters of thousands, but when you're brother is the guy telling you about it, it's easy to lose interest. If Joseph had done terrible in the class before, he was certain he'd soon be doing even worse.

A near-empty room. He thought as he walked through the doorway. There was Clark (or, Mr. Green, as it said on the board), whom Joseph tried to avoid eye-contact with, and a few other students scattered around. Picking a seat in the far back corner, he stuffed his bag under his desk and pulled out his phone. There was hardly anyone to text, but he had a few cheap games to play that would hopefully pass the time...

... and they did. When Clark started talking, Joseph glanced around to see the class full.

". . .can see, is Mr. Green. This is World History..." Clark was saying. For someone who was supposed to have pretty damn good hearing, Joseph completely missed the first half of his brother's sentence. Still, he didn't miss how professional he sounded. Holy crap, it was like the guy at the front of the room was an actual teacher rather than just Clark Green, his brother.

'You look young as shit.' Joseph texted him, hoping that Clark's phone was on silent. 'Like an overgrown baby or something. Weird.'

"I'm sorry, what?!" Violet half shrieked in the hallway. The two gossiping students turned to look at her with matching expressions of vague terror.
"Th-there was a body found in the woods?" One answered. Violet pressed forward.
"Who? Cause of death? Where were they?" She asked. The two kids shrugged nervously, and Violet groaned at the lack of helpful information. She span around with thoughts whirling through her mind of who she should be talking to, and whether or not they would talk to her. She was halfway down the hallway before common sense caught up with her. She couldn't skip school to try to investigate, nobody would listen, and more importantly share information with, a loose seventeen year old during school hours. There was also the fact of the reticent sheriff, and Violet's lack of reputation in this town. Violet groaned again and scrubbed her hands over her face. She was going to go mad over the course of the school day, she could just feel it. With a dejected sigh, she started making her way to her first class of the day. She didn't listen to a damn word her chemistry teacher said, and was staring at the clock instead, willing time to roll by faster. Apparently the focussed look on her face was either scary enough to discourage interruption, or fooled the teacher into thinking Violet was paying attention.

She had fully expected her second class to go by in much the same manner. She was so singularly focussed on other things that, when she walked in, she walked into a desk. After righting herself, she finally looked around and realised that the man in front of the board... Was not their usual teacher. She gave a brief look of confusion, before she sat down near the back, read his name from the board. As Mr Green started talking, Violet caught snatches of muttering from behind her. Two girls sat behind her, leaning their heads closer together.
"I heard it was a college student." Said one. There was a pause, presumably as the other nodded.
"Animal attack, they're saying." Was the reply. Though Violet kept her head pointedly forward, her attention was entirely on the conversation behind her. Animal attack, never heard that one before. She needed to know more about this college student, whether or not they commonly went to the woods, or if they had been acting suspiciously...

ImageThe first day of school.

Augustine hated it. The school part was fine, but the thought of it being her first day was rather intimidating. She wanted nothing more than to run out the front door that brought her into this nerve-racking environment, and instead go home where her room was waiting for her. However, her older brother, Clark, taught history at this school- the class Augustine was in- and if she left now he'd be infuriated with her. If not disappointed.

Her first class, AP Statistics, seemed almost endless. Was it because the first day was always the dullest, or because everything this teacher was teaching was fairly basic to her: collection, organization, analysis, interpretation. She was already familiar with the concepts. Although it was all comforting...and repetitive, she still managed to pay at least a little attention for respect of her teacher.

When the bell finally rang, a nasal buzzing sound, she rose from her seat, grabbed her bag, and was out the door before anyone else was out of their seat. The halls were already crowded with teenagers slamming their lockers shut, and chatting in their usual groups. Some took a glance at Augustine and immediately gossiped. "Who is that?" One of them said. It was only a whisper, but it was clear enough for Augustine to overhear. "I heard she's that new teacher, Mr.Green's, sister." "No way! She looks too...solitary to be related to a guy like him." The conversation went on as Augustine tried to remain hidden within her hair allowing it to drop as a dark curtain between the other students gossiping about her sudden arrival.

When she entered her history classroom, she seen Clark in front of the room, failing to be as solemn as the other teacher's appeared to be as he straightened the tie to his suit. She couldn't help but give him a little chuckle at his attempt. Poor, Clark she thought.

As she walked down the aisle to an empty desk in the front, she noticed there in the far back corner her little brother, Joseph, tapping his thumbs on the screen of his phone and glared at him for always being inattentive before she straighted out the skirt to her outfit and took her seat.

Class didn't start for a few minutes and when it did, Clark began his first lecture "Morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Green and I'll be your World History teacher for this semester. I know with everything going on, it may be hard to concentrate, but please try and stay with me..." At that, Augustine was prepared for her first day with her own brother being her teacher.

Katilyn smiled to a brunet male cashier, emptying her handful of change into his hand. Then she smiled to the caramel latte that greeted her, "Yes. Now this is what I'm talking about." She'd woken up a little late, but she'd managed to make first period. Though after another systematic dream about Haley and her gory demise, she took a break from the campus to grab some sugary caffeine. It was the only thing that kept her going. She knew that killing someone was supposed to be traumatic, but she hadn't had a decent nights rest in weeks, perhaps even longer. Four hours and she was up. Though it didn't keep her on time, usually it was the latter hours of the morning that she got to sleep. She checked her phone, which had a message from her sister, Tayden.

"Where are you? You're really late you know! It's second period!"

Katilyn took a sip of her latte, texting back nonchalantly, "I'll be there soon. It's my birthday. I can do whatever I want.... or I can get detention. I'm not as late as you think. What's the big deal if I stop for a latte between classes?" She sent it, pocketing her phone. The blonde checked her hair before strolling back to the school. Sure she was difficult, but it made this town interesting. Not long after her mother's affair Katilyn finally broke free from the military-like hold that her parents had on her. It wasn't like she was doing drugs or having sex, but she definitely wanted to party... that is, until Haley.. She kept her distance from parties since she disappeared.

Haley.. I should have buried her properly.. but I was so drunk that night. I don't even remember where I put your body.. She took another drink, this time a long swig of the coffee. It was the only thing keeping her nerves in one place, so she was becoming sort of a caffeine junkie, despite knowing the health risks. Before she even knew it, she was standing in front of the school. Well, here I am. That was faster than I would have liked. She rolled her eyes. She took another sip, finding the World History class.

"Good morning everyone. My name, as you can see, is Mr. Green. This is World History..." he said with a calm demeanor, not even acknowledging his brother and sister in the room.

Oh look, class has already started. She proceeded in walking into the classroom and taking her seat in front of Tayden, "Miss me, doll? Oh is this for me?" She asked with a wide grin, poking at the present sitting on her desk. She didn't even acknowledge it was rude to interrupt, not that many of the teachers usually paid attention to idle chatter.. so long as it was quiet. Though she did turn around, a rather large detail finally catching her one track mind. She noticed Clark, standing at the front of the room. Do we have a student teacher or something? Who the hell is this guy? He can't be much older than us..

Did you hear about the body? They think its an animal attack - the body was ripped apart! Oh yeah, Tracy from Bio. Isn't her brother a freshman? Yeah, it's so sad.

It was sad and near impossible to have a productive class. Luckily, her Bio teacher cancelled at the last minute, distraught over the recent incident. Apparently, she was really close to this Tracy chick. Well, there goes the start to her first day! And here Jo thought it would be a normal day then again, if your name is Joanna Green and you just so happen to have the stain of your parents' absences in yours and your siblings' lives - oh, and you come from a family of werewolves - normal is a near impossible feat.

Having given herself a tour of the campus some days prior, Jo seamed through the hords of students rather smoothly, seemingly unaffected by the death of one of their own. It was still somewhat early and she was really killing time by walking aimlessly with a macchiato in her hand. Jo took a long drink of the steaming liquid, the salty caramel mixed with strong espresso coating her tongue in a delicate balance of robustness and sweetness.

"Wow, I really like your skirt," a random girl - a pretty little thing with short black hair - commented from a bench with a redhead female. Jo fleetingly appraised her attire; she had always had a weakness for the bohemian and gypsy influences, though she sometimes went a bid darker. She smiled, glad that at least someone could treat this day normally.

"Oh, thanks. I'm Joanna by the way."

Image*BEEP BEEP BEEP* An arm reached out of a fluffy white duvet and slammed down on the poor innocent alarm clock that sat on the bedside table along the queen bed. Tiffany did not want to get up yet, but for once she actually had stuff to do today. Rubbing her face with her hand and rising up out of bed Tiffany looked around at the dark spacious room She wasn't into bright colours and her attire and bedroom choices normally showed it; Tiffany loved her shades. Deciding to finally get up Tiffany rolled her feet over the side of the bed and onto her white fluffy carpet it was nice not stepping right onto cold hard wood flooring like the rest of her bedroom. Finally feeling awake she headed off to the en suite bathroom/closet mix and hopped into the shower.

When she finished her shower Tiffany got changed into what she would call a "Comfy Outfit." And with that she threw on some quick makeup brushed her hair and headed downstairs to the Kitchen. At this time in the day no one would really be home so Tiffany just helped herself to the fridge grabbing some much needed food and sitting down at the breakfast table and looking out the window to the woods. She always got lost when she looked out there almost like she needed to go out there and run as fast as she could go, but she would never.

Finally finishing her food Tiffany looked at the time "Perfect, not going to be late; not going to be too early just perfect." She hated being late it was one thing her parents drilled into her head but being early wasn't good either, it was much better to be fashionably late then be earlier than the hostess. Not that Tiffany was actually meeting up with anyone but it was her routine and so she needed to continue the practice.

Headed out the door Tiff threw on some roller blades put her shoes in her back pack and headed off to town, she was headed for the cafe. Her favorite lounge spot and where she did her online classes. She didn't have college classes everyday yet it seemed like it because if Tiffany wasn't in school she was at the cafe or at home working on school work mainly because she had nothing better to do and also because of her online classes. Oh well that's college life.

David was happy to be back at school. Winter break wasn't the happiest time of year since his family was all in London. Christmas Dinner 2010 consisted of a spaghetti and meatball dinner for one and speed reading through A Christmas Carol. Suffice to say, it was a bit depressing all around. But now, he was back at school, where it wasn't a dark and there were actual people around. Sure, he didn't have any friends, but being around acquaintances, half of which didn't know you exist was better then being alone in an empty house near the woods.

As the bell for first period rang, David hurried through the mass of students doing the same, finding his first math class of the Imageday and pulling open the door. After taking his seat towards the back, he endured the teacher's "fun" back to school equations. It only took him ten minutes to complete the refresher that was meant for the whole period. Usually, David would take a nap or pull out whatever book he was reading at the time for a bit, but his mind turned to the body found in the woods near his house. All he had heard was that it was being ruled an animal attack and it was nothing to worry about, which he disagreed with. If there was some crazed animal in the woods, that seemed like a very valid thing to worry about, especially since he lived alone in a house without any sort of means of protection.

But, before he could fret more, the bell rang signaling the end of the class, much to David's relief. He quickly picked up his backpack, handed in his paper and hurried out of the room, already prepared for his next class; World History. As he walked into the room, he noticed there was some new people he didn't recognize. Sure, he wasn't the most popular or social person in school, but he made sure to at least know most everyone's name and face. These two were new, a rarity in Woodlynne. Spotting a seat next the new girl, he decided to take it. He then looked up towards the teacher who was also unfamiliar and listened to what he had to say.

It took some time and no doubt, there were some people who were late, but Clark decided to let it slide for his first day. He knew they'd either incorrectly assume he was a pushover in which case, they'd be in for a rude awakening or relax and be open to the curriculum. Either way, Clark would be happy. As he eyed over his desk to read his notes, he noticed his phone light up with a message from his brother.
Image
'You look young as shit. Like an overgrown baby or something. Weird.' Joseph texted him, probably hoping to embarrass his older brother, but Clark had made sure to put his phone on silent. Joseph loved to make jokes, but Clark wasn't in the best mood for them.

"Before we get started, I should remind you that I'm not a fan of texting during my class." Clark said staring Joseph down, phone in hand as he spoke. Clark was about to go on when he all of a sudden noticed a familiar smell ; the scent of other werewolves. It was hard to discern the source, but it was close. At first, Clark thought it was maybe Auggie or Joseph, but he would have recognized their smells for sure. These were different. Similar, but unique to each other. Could there be another pack in Woodlynne besides themselves. That thought had to wait due to the interruption over the intercom.

"This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you." the slight screech from the mic's feedback echoed in Clark's mind. "Some first day, huh?" he thought, already knowing exactly why school was canceled due to a new smell penetrating the air. It stung with each breath and it was close enough to confirm Clark's suspicions; blood. Another body had been found and this one was very close to Woodlynne High. The worries were mounting fast in Clark's life and he was afraid they'd undoubtedly get worse before they got better.

The voice of the intercom replayed in Auggie's head like a recorder: "This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you." At that moment, the classroom began to fill with students prattling on about the school being closed for the day, while some immediately began dialing their parents to inform them about the incident. Auggie just sat back observing in on all the commotion that was going around.
Suspicious circumstances? She wondered what Principal West had meant by that. He didn't say why or what the occurrence was. He just left her there, curious in the position.

"They found a body near our school," she overheard someone say. "An animal or something.." Body?.. Animal? She stood from her seat to ask Clark- knowing that he of all people had the answers to what she was seeking- when someone had bumped right into her causing her to fall back. However, she felt the arms of someone from behind catching and lifting her back to her feet. She hadn't looked up to see who it was, just bowed her head in embarrassment and muttered to them an incoherent 'thank you' before proceeding on to Clark.

"What is it about this "body" that's going around?" she asked him.

"This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you." Came the voice over the intercom. It shook Violet back to the here and now with a jolt. Suspicious circumstances? Cancelled classes? They wouldn't cancel classes for anything like a theft, unless someone had stolen the principle's car, or a statue or something similarly cumbersome and difficult to steal. Violet could hear other students picking up on that. Murmurs of 'body' and 'animal' floated through the air, and students were getting to their feet, presumably to talk to friends about the development, or to call their parents. One student walked over to Mr Green, and Violet's eyes widened as she saw her chance.

Violet slipped from one small group to the next, to the next, making her way towards the door. She bumped slightly into another student, who looked over at her.
"Digna--" Garret Nuit started, with a confused frown, but considerately under his breath. Violet quickly put a finger to her lips to silence him, as she finally reached for the door.
"Two suspicious bodies in two days? Not normal." She explained, before, at last, slipping out of the door. She took three careful steps backwards, hushing her footfalls, and turned to start jogging. The school wasn't huge, she doubted it would take too long for her to get some info. She was pleased to note that the hallways seemed pretty empty, clearing the path for her. She still made a point of peeking around the first corner she reached, before moving onward.

"Before we get started, I should remind you that I'm not a fan of texting during my class." Clark said, obviously looking at Joseph as he spoke. He gave a sheepish smile, then shrank down in his seat and let out a sigh. He hadn't thought that his brother would actually call him out on it.

"This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you." The principals voice rang out, surprising Joseph. Suspicious? Classes canceled? Someone had died again, hadn't they? Joseph had done fairly well to avoid thinking of the murders (and when everyone and their grandma was talking about them, it wasn't an easy task) but now... well, now it was back on his mind. Great.

"Someone found a body," Joseph heard one of the other students say. "Near our school, I think. It was just another stupid animal that did it, though. . ." He didn't wait to listen to the rest of the conversation, because the moment he saw Auggie get up and go over to Clark, Joseph followed her. Death and murders had made a habit of making him uncomfortable. His siblings annoyed the hell out of them most of the time, but at least he could trust that they were safe to be around.

"What is it about this body that's going around?" Auggie was asking as Joseph reached her and their brother. So she wanted to know what was going on, too? Of course she did.

Joseph looked back and forth between the two of them. "You guys don't think that it's a-- uhh," he started, rather loudly in fact, before realizing his mistake and shutting himself up. He meant to say werewolf, but in a classroom full of students, that word was probably a big fat 'NO' to use."Like, a certain thing with claws and stuff..." Joseph trailed off, scowling. "You know what I mean. Is it?"

"Birthday or not, you'll be in a world of crap if mom and dad find out!" She texted one last time before permanently pocketing her phone for the period. She started to tap her foot against the floor, accompanied by flicking her pencil nervously against her desk. Katilyn... hurry up... Then she saw her blonde sister walking in, latte in hand. Seriously? You cut class for a latte? Though now that she thought about it, coffee did sound pretty good right about now. Her hazel eyes staring down the cup in her sister's hand for a moment. It was tempting her. Especially the smell. It was a thousand times more taunting when you had a werewolf's sense of smell.

She eventually snatched Katilyn's coffee, taking a few sips before returning it to it's rightful owner. It's odd seeing Katilyn with coffee, especially a latte. I bet her nightmares are getting worse.. I can't blame her if she needs the extra juice. I'd be restless too if I was having dreams of dead people.

"Miss me, doll? Oh is this for me?"

Her sister's chipper mood despite the situation made her laugh a bit. Tayden wasn't normally one to get in trouble at school, but ever since she started hanging out with Katilyn, several of her teachers have noted her grades are slipping, fast.. Perhaps it was because Katilyn kept her up most hours of the day, or maybe it was because she was finally behaving like a normal teenage girl.. or even because of Trent. No matter the reason, academically, Tayden was coming out worse for it, "Of course it's yours. Open it up." She ushered her sister, eager to see the look on her face when she saw the gift.

Her eyes shifted between Katilyn and Mr. Green, trying to be careful about getting caught goofing off.. Though Katilyn was so nonchalant about it, getting detention was possibly inevitable. She smiled, awaiting her sister to stumble upon the present Tayden ordered online. It took her weeks to pick it out, and the look on her face would be worth a day or two of detention.

"Before we get started, I should remind you that I'm not a fan of texting during my class."

Tayden's eyes shot up to see if Mr. Green was referring to her, but he seemed to have his eyes on one of the new kids. She laughed a bit, brushing her hair behind her ears. Apparently they're related or have a very strong vendetta. She thought to herself. Her focus once again turned to Katilyn, once she was sure she was in the clear. She didn't want to get caught texting. That would mean someone discovering Trent. That meant explaining why she was dating a twenty-four year old college student.

"This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you."

As soon as they mentioned parents picking up the students, her eyes flashed to Katilyn. She wasn't staying to catch up. In fact she took out her phone, messaging Trent, "I'll be at campus in time for lunch. <3" before standing up. She threw her bag over her shoulder and bolted for the door. She completely forgot her sketchbook behind, but it was better than a rendezvous with her parents.

Image

She practically squeaked her words out as she passed his desk, mostly because she had to run like a 'girly girl' due to her high heels. With that she was down the hall and out of there. Ever since the mention of divorce she'd been avoiding her parents, so far, she was doing an excellent job. She only saw them at meals... sometimes not even then. She couldn't bear the thought of her parents splitting up.. She couldn't watch them destroy themselves, and the family for stupid reasoning.

I bet her nightmares are getting worse.. I can't blame her if she needs the extra juice. I'd be restless too if I was having dreams of dead people.

"Hey, paws off the coffee. I need that." Katilyn crinkled her nose at her baby sister, attempting to reclaim her stolen coffee. Once her sister returned it, Katilyn wiped the lid before taking another sip. She didn't want lipstick all over her mouth, especially if it wasn't her own. She forgave her sister, especially since she'd been adopting the same sleep schedule as her. Ever since the Haley thing, Tayden had been very supportive, despite not even knowing about Katilyn's secret dead body rotting somewhere in Woodlynne.

"Of course it's yours. Open it up."

"Happy 18th Birthday - Love, Tayden" She quickly read what was written on the tag tied to the box. Katilyn took no time in opening the present. She carefully unwrapped it, trying to not make a mess of the classroom floor. Eventually she unwrapped it, almost as if the paper hadn't been used for wrapping a gift at all. Then she sliced the tape on the box open with her nail. I wonder what it is? Normally Tayden just gave her money, so her interest was definitely peaked this year. She lifted the lid, eyes widening the size of saucers as she stared at the beautiful piece of jewelry. What she found was a breathtaking glass necklace of a wolf howling at the moon. She instantly took it from the box, slipping it around her neck and clasping it. She then looked to the necklace hanging from her neck with a smile. It was times like these, she finally felt normal again. Well as normal as a teenage werewolf could manage..

"Thanks, Tay.. It's gorgeous."

"Before we get started, I should remind you that I'm not a fan of texting during my class."

Well what are we supposed to do then? Pass notes? She thought sarcastically with a grin, but understood what he meant crystal clear. She noticed the scents of other werewolves, but she played it off. Werewolf families passed through before, none of them every actually stayed once her parents caught wind. She assumed it would be the case. Mom's always been territorial about Woodlynne.. I never understood why. It's so boring here. They'd leave on their own anyway once they figured out just how mind-numbingly bland it is to live here.

"This is Principal West speaking. Due to recent suspicious circumstances, all classes today are canceled. Any classes in progress are to be stopped and teachers are to watch over students as they call their parents or guardian to be picked up as soon as possible. Thank you."

Well.. Aside from that... But that's new. The murders... Aside from Haley.. that's something I don't understand. Not long after I accidentally murdered her... someone's been doing the exact same thing... very publicly... What is this.. the second body?

"They found a body near our school."

One of the students said, making Katilyn close her eyes. She wanted to fill herself in on the details and she couldn't focus on both visual and auditory stimuli at the same time. She wasn't the best at multitasking after all.

"An animal or something.." another replied, just as interested as the first. She recognized his voice. The second boy was Richard Parker.

"Scary! First a jogger, now this? I'm scared to walk home from work!" Wendy Bennett whined out dramatically, most likely to get one of the two guys to feel pity for her and walk her home.

Hmph.. If I was the wolf I'd of ate you first just to shut you up. You've always been way too loud, even as kids. How have your parents put up with your voice this long?

"What is it about this body that's going around?"

This voice caught her attention. She'd never heard it before, and her eyes suddenly opened, landing on Auggie. She'd missed roll call, so she wasn't aware that Auggie, Joseph, and Clark were siblings. Strange... One typically wouldn't ask a teacher point blank..

"You guys don't think that it's a-- uhh,"

Another unfamiliar voice, this time male. Her eyes shifted to Joseph this time. What is with these three? She frowned, taking a drink from her latte since it was now growing warm and icky. What are they trying to beat around the bush about?

"Like, a certain thing with claws and stuff... You know what I mean. Is it?"

As soon as the words passed his lips, she immediately turned to face Tayden, but her sister was gone like the wind. She's obviously distracted by Trent again. Her hand met her face in disgust. This isn't a time to play pretzel with your college guy... These newcomers know an awful lot about werewolves.. and I've been smelling others of our kind all day. Either they're hunters or another pack. Without noticing, she smacked her fist loudly against the desk in irritation. Her eyes widened, and she bit her bottom lip. God my nerves are so shot.. Damn it Haley..

ImageThe action brought some unwanted attention and she just sneered at Wendy, redirecting the class's focus with the first thought that came to mind, "Take a picture. It'll last longer, skank."

She mumbled at the girl, whom looked at her surprised, mouth agape. Don't look at me like it's news.. everyone knows you're the class tramp.. You don't need super sensitive hearing to know that.. She rolled her eyes, standing up and walking over to Clark's desk, pretending to ignore the fact he probably was in mid conversation with Auggie and Joseph.

"Hi, I'm Katilyn Volks... My sister, Tayden Volks was the girl who just... ran out? If you can even call it that..." She shook her head once she found herself getting off topic, "Anyway. I'm going to go after her. I'm assuming we're getting detention for this, so what day should we come in?" Now that she was further toward the front of the room, she caught a wiff of the blood in the distance. It was feint from here, but the body was definitely somewhere close.

Katilyn was apparently very used to getting in trouble, because her tone about the detention was extremely casual. It was almost like making dinner plans to her. It didn't seem to bother her at all to lose an evening of her life. Just how much time did she typically spend in detention?

"Wait, so all classes are cancelled today?" Jo wondered aloud, pausing in her stroll around the small campus with the two females she met earlier. One's name was Anna and the other, Lavender. They were making sure that she knew where all of her classes were being held and even about registering some of them as her online courses.

"Yeah, apparently a few of the local shops are closed too," Anna told her, showing Jo the text message from the girl's group of friends. Immediately, concern hit her and Joanna pulled out her cell phone. From what she gathered, the body was found not too far from the high school and the majority of her family members were there now.

To: Clark, Joseph, & Auggie
Message:
Hey! Everyone ok? Classes are cancelled. Body found. Checking it out soon.

No doubt, Clark would probably disagree with her trying to get anywhere near where the attack happened, but Anna's interest was peeked and it kinda helped that her Dad was a Deputy. An excuse like wanting to check on him was viable enough for the moment. All Jo needed was a few moments to look, to observe. And if the body was still there, they might be able to see a few things.

If the Sheriff didn't make sure that everyone kept their distance.

Nodding to Anna and Lavender, Joanna allowed them to lead her off the campus. It was only about a twenty minute walk to the high school and the woody area nearby. During that time, Jo learned that the Sheriff was a Volks and that she had a few kids in school. Nothing too important, nothing to be particularly worried about for now, but it was good to know. Jo kept the two girls talking, especially about the veterinarian clinic. It was the only one in town and the doctor who worked there was said to be rather...intimidating, at best. The older woman did have a rather disconcerting tone, near emotionless if Jo truly thought about it. They were at the location before she could process the travel.

And what a sight it was!

The police tape was out, separating the small crowd of people from the actual scene. It definitely wasn't that far from the school; Jo could see the back of the building and the small area of the parking lot along with a few benches and tables where the kids probably could eat lunch. Her eyes took in the dark and dead leaves on the ground, the brown overshadowing what should have been green. It was a dreary sight, especially considering that the sun decided to play hide-and-seek with the clouds.

"Oh my God, poor Tracy!" Anna exclaimed, a delicate hand over her tiny mouth and Jo followed her line of vision, cringing at the sight of the near mangled body atop the crunchy leaves. The girl was pale, paler than she probably was in real life. Her body was twisted at an awkward angle at the hips, as if she had tried to turn but the force of whatever attacked her had snapped her spine. Her face was tilted towards the sky, eyes stuck in a forever staring contest with the clouds. Her mouth was ajar too, as if she herself were surprised by her death. But her chest was the sight that truly surprised Jo. The four slashes on her chest were deep and she could tell, even from here, that the cuts had reached her ribcage; you could see the white of the bone peeking out from the red of her blood and maroon of her dress.

"What could she have been doing out here?" Jo asked quietly. She noted the uneasy expression on Lavender's face; the pretty redhead looked like she was ready to vomit. It wasn't too horrific of a sight, but it was enough to affect the most sensitive of stomachs.

"I don't know. Tracy liked...researching and if you go further up the hill, you'll reach the peek. You can see the whole town and lights from the nearest city." Jo nodded absentmindedly, eyes trained on the figure looming over the body. The woman's dark hair cascaded over her shoulders like a waterfall of black silk, green eyes fixed on the dead corpse. The gloved hand traced over the wound gingerly. As if sensing someone's gaze, her own eyes rose to meet Joanna's inquisitive stare and the cold gaze caused Jo's breath to catch in her throat.

She had a feeling she just met her boss.

Other kids had started to file out of their classrooms. Most of them, upon reaching the doors, headed to cars, parents, siblings or whoever was free to collect them, but Violet smiled to see that there were a couple who started heading in the direction of the woods, enough that one more wouldn't draw too much attention. She ran and grabbed her bike, before cycling to the woods. It wasn't long, once she was among the trees, before police lights caught her eyes. She followed them to find herself amongst a small throng of people, next to a small group of girls, staring at the body. Violet heard an exhausted sigh from one of the deputies, which made her chuckle as she tried to work her way to the front. She'd only been in this town, what, three weeks? And the cops were already sick of her. Finally, Violet got a good view of the crime scene, and her face went stony and calm.

She looked over at Tracy's body, and had a pretty good inkling that the carnage wasn't the kind seen in animal attacks. Indiana didn't have any large predators, for a start. The body's position, with her torn chest skyward, but legs askew, suggested an impact more in line with a car accident. Violet frowned. But this part of the forest was away from the road, and the ground didn't show any sign of a recent dragging. She stood on her toes, to try to examine the wound from the distance, when the body's pristine neck caught Violet's eye. Didn't predators go for the neck, not the chest? Violet shifted her weight a little. The wound was too big for any animal native to Indiana, but it... Didn't look all that horrible. It would certainly raise alarm at the A and E, but, by itself, it wouldn't kill. Cause of death was probably the impact then. Going by the lack of blood trail, and a couple of broken branches around, that happened first. Well, at least the girl didn't suffer?

But all that didn't help much with finding the bastard who'd done it. Violet tried a different angle. What would make someone maim another person this way? The obvious choice was 'Crazy', but that wasn't going to help her. Maybe they hoped to get away with a Hit and Run? No, no Hit-and-Runner would go to all that trouble. They couldn't have been trying to hide who it was, they would have torn up her face, not her chest, and the damage would have been more dramatic. Four slashes, could that mean something?

Clark should have guessed the students would have reacted the way they did. He remembered high school and if something as odd and interesting as an animal attack happened near his school, there was no chance in hell the student body would keep mum about it or worry too much as to call their ride home before gossiping up a storm. It wasn't long after the students started theorizing before his sister stood up to approach him, falling for a moment, but being caught by the boy next to her. As soon as Auggie reached him, Clark was officially in what Joseph called his "alpha mode".

"They found one close. Another one so quickly is not a good sign." Clark couldn't help but sweat a bit as he spoke. He didn't like this set of circumstances, especially since the Greens had a particularly fresh set of targets painted on their backs. All he could do was stay calm and make sure his siblings didn't notice his nerves.

"You guys don't think that it's a-- uhh, like, a certain thing with claws and stuff..." Joseph trailed off, scowling. "You know what I mean. Is it?"

"Could be. All I know is that we need to figure out what it is and soon." Clark spoke in an alarmed and subtle tone, trying not to speak above a decibel the other students would hear. He had noticed the various students leaving the class and assumed they had gotten their rides and were leaving. Only one girl worried Clark and her sister was the one who approached soon after. "Hi, I'm Katilyn Volks... My sister, Tayden Volks was the girl who just... ran out? If you can even call it that... anyway. I'm going to go after her. I'm assuming we're getting detention for this, so what day should we come in?"

"Well forget about it for today. Just be careful and watch out, out there." he said, giving a knowing nod as he did so. Kaitlyn had to take care of her family and Clark could respect that, seeing as most of his life for the past few years had been taking care of Auggie, Joseph, and Joanna. But still, this girl was different. Clark could tell it from not only the way she carried herself but also her scent as it wasn't completely human to say the least. He was about to make a remark to his siblings, but was interrupted by the rumbling of the phone still in his hand with a message from Joanna;

To: Clark, Joseph, & Auggie
Message:
Hey! Everyone ok? Classes are cancelled. Body found. Checking it out soon.

It took him a few moments to form a response, but eventually, Clark found the right words, putting in effort to make sure Kaitlyn didn't glimpse the screen;

To: Joanna, Joseph, and Auggie
Message:
Everyone's fine. Second body, I think. I think we have a wolf among us if you catch my meaning. A student, maybe. Does the name Volk sound familiar.

The staring contest that went on between Joanna and the strange woman with green eyes was cut off only by the sheriff's annoyance, the woman barking out orders for people to clear out. But Joanna glanced at the redhead who had randomly appeared and clamored to the front of the group, observing the body closely. Jo's head tilted slightly in curiosity and while her two new friends began to walk away, claiming that they needed a distraction from all of this, she made her way forward. But her eyes were not on the body any longer. That wouldn't help them, not unless Clark and the others were here to sniff the site out. She was looking for something more...concrete, a clue of some kind. Before she could get any closer to the yellow tape, her phone buzzed for attention and she plucked it out of her pocket.

Joanna's eyes widened just slightly at Clark's message before her smooth brow furrowed just slightly in contemplation, lips pursed just-so. Volks...Volks sounded very familiar. In fact, if Joanna was not mistaken, Volks was the name of the -

"Step any further, young lady, and you'll be interrupting our investigation," a woman with a very sharp gaze and a voice that reminded Joanna too much of Kayla Green when her mother was irritated. Despite herself, Joanna could feel the beginnings of feeling like she had been chastised by her mother and even a small inch of grief at the memory of her mother never coming home. Blinking that away, she caught the tail ends of the woman dressed in uniform her speaking very sharply to the redhead she had seen earlier. "And this has nothing to do with you either, Miss Dignam."

Feeling a little braver, Joanna observed the woman, starting with the dark blonde of her hair and the seriousness in her gaze. She radiated authority and power, something reminiscent to Clark that took a long time for Jo to get used to once he became the Alpha. Once glance at the woman's golden badge and Joanna knew she was one to be respected.

"Yeah, uh...sorry, umm..." If she was right, then the woman before her was -

"Sheriff Volks." Joanna nodded, smiling gently. The woman was watching her as much as Jo was watching her, both sizing the other up. If Clark was right and his assumptions usually weren't, could the woman before her really be a werewolf? "Now, get - the both of you." Joanna walked away before shooting the others another text.

To: Clark, Auggie, and Joseph
Message: Yep, and I just met the mom. She's the Sheriff.

Tiffany had finally made it to the cafe and was so excited about getting her hot chocolate that she almost ran into the door not noticing the big *CLOSED* sign out front. "You have got to be kidding me!" Tiffany punched the door and it wobbled under her fist but she simply ignored it and walked on. Now what was she going to do? Head back home? Go to the park? There was nothing for her really to do, and it wasn't like she was a social creature either.

That's when she saw the news paper stand with a girls body smack dab in the middle of the paper. "Can't they get in trouble for letting out details like that?" Tiffany just shook her head and sighed. She hoped this had nothing to do with her family, they weren't murderers at least she didn't think so. But lately she had been sensing and smelling a different dog like smell that she had never experienced in town before.

Tiffany let out a long sigh and crossed the street to sit on a bench. She put her knee on her leg and her head on her hand and sat there debating what to do. She wouldn't bother contacting her parents to let them know, they would either know already or wouldn't care. They have their own mess to deal with and Tiffany didn't want to get into it.

Without noticing Tiffany kind of went off into her own world and kind of zoned out on what was going on around her. She had a habit of doing this it was annoying to her parents who would be talking to her and she wouldn't hear half of what they said. But, when your the oldest and don't have someone to play with you have habit of getting a really good imagination, you just aren't good at con trolling it.

Finally, Violet spotted the Sheriff. Oh joy.

The older woman started yelling at the small crowd that had gathered, ordering them to clear out. She made her way over to where Violet, and the last remaining girl from the trio Violet had followed, were standing. Violet glanced at the girl, and realised she had been heading for the tape for a closer look. Violet straightened up and gave her best "Who me?" grin, as Sheriff Volks reached the girls.
"Step any further, young lady, and you'll be interrupting our investigation," She said to the other girl, and turned to Violet with an annoyed expression. "And this has nothing to do with you either, Miss Dignam." Violet gave an exaggerated shrug, raising her hands in a placating manner, but she never took her eyes off the Sheriff. She tried to communicate in her look that she knew that the body behind the tape wasn't killed by an animal, without saying it aloud.
"Well, I'm sorry, Sheriff, I can't help myself. It's a real problem, I should work on that." She said. Just then, the other girl blinked back to reality.
"Yeah, uh...sorry, umm..." She said, oh so elopuently. Sheriff Volks helpfully provided her name, before telling the two girls to leave.

Violet jogged over to the other girl, just as she finished messing with her phone. She fell into step with her and leaned over slightly. Any girl who was willing to go for the tape when presented with a mystery was a girl Violet could respect, seeing as Violet herself was such a girl.
"If the sheriff's here, that means that the second body is only guarded by deputies." She commented in a low voice, for only the other girl to hear. "Just FYI." She picked up her pace a little, with a small smile. She'd just have to grab her bike and head back to school, see if there were any similarities between the scenes. And if the other girl chose to start in her own investigation, well, they do say two heads are better than one...
"Pierce! Radio the deputies at the second site to keep an eye out for teenagers." Yelled the Sheriff to one of her deputies. Violet spun around with a look on her face that was simultaneously affronted, surprised and annoyed.
"Oh come on!" She yelled back. She turned back around and scrubbed her hands over her face.
"Damn woman's got ears like a bat..." She muttered, so much under her breath even Violet herself could barely understand. However, even with the fact that the deputies would be on the lookout, Violet had her methods. If she had to, she could work around it, and there was still plenty of daylight left in the day.

Garret had been pretty optimistic about the school day ahead of him. The raging rumours about a body of a college student in the woods was upsetting, and he'd need to keep an eye on her little brother, should the poor kid cross Garret's path. Even so, Garret hadn't really thought anything would be going on, especially in the wake of such a tragedy. He was pretty surprised when he realised that, second period, they had a different History teacher. As the class was starting, an announcement went out about the classes being cancelled. Well, dang. He stood up with the other students, wondering about what was going on, when a slight weight bumped into him from behind. He turned to find a redhead sneaking behind him towards the door. It took him a second to remember her name.
"Digna--" He started to say, keeping his voice low, since she was pretty obviously trying not to draw attention to her break for freedom. The redhead put a finger to her lips, and Garret shut his mouth with a click.
"Two suspicious bodies in two days? Not normal." She replied. Garret frowned, but kept quiet as she slipped out the door.

That worried Garret, all through him texting his mom, informing her that he'd bring his little sister, Lucy, home with him while she went to pick up the youngest, Jeannie, from Middle School. It kept worrying him as he went and got Lucy from her class and brought her home in his car. Two bodies in two days wasn't normal, but he wasn't really sure if there was anything more that could actually be done about it. Still, his eyes started drifting to every shadowy spot alongside the road. The house was also deserted when he and Lucy got there, which he certainly felt didn't help matters at all.

Once outside, Tayden ran off. She wasn't waiting for Katilyn to catch up with her. She didn't stop running until she reach Trent's college, and she was completely out of breath. Even for a wolf, a run like that was definitely tiresome. She sat down at one of the lunch tables until her lungs caught up with her. She eventually pulled her phone out, reading the text.

"1 Message from: Trent <3

I don't know if I can make it, reschedule. "

She felt her heart sink, and she frowned a bit. She knew he had no classes at this hour? Why was he making up excuses not to see her? She shook her head quickly, removing the thoughts that followed from her head as quick as possible. Don't. That's mom and dad's problems.. don't put their faults in your own relationship. I'm sure Trent's just busy studying... With her new optimistic attitude, she grabbed take out from the school cafeteria and decided to drop by his dorm room. She knocked on the door, only to find she heard a girl's voice.

"Trent?" she called in, and she heard him shushing someone. He eventually opened the door, and the smell caught her by surprise. Woman's perfume? She let it slide, tilting her head as if waiting for an explanation, "I heard a woman in here.." She told him suspiciously. Trent cleared his throat, holding up his phone which made Tayden bite her bottom lip.

"I was on the phone with my sister, Tay. I had it on speaker phone.. Geez.. Don't get all psycho like your mom." He rolled his eyes. Tayden instantly laughed, holding up a bag of Chinese take out. He grinned, opening the door and letting Tayden inside. He noticed a girl's jacket on the floor of his room and quickly kicked it under the bed, "So why're you here, Tay? I thought school started back?" He sat on the bed, clearing her a spot off next to him.

Tayden sat down, leaning her head on his shoulder, "Another body was found... school was cancelled and I didn't want to go home to my 'psycho' mother as you put it.." She laughed, opening their takeout and organizing their food on his messy coffee table, "I have a new History teacher who looks younger than you.. Did you go to school together?" She asked curiously, trying to learn more about the Green family.

"What's her name?" Trent asked, a huge smirk on his face. Tayden instantly hit his shoulder, causing him to rub the spot, "You hit way too hard to be a girl, Tay.." He hissed, a little irritated.

"HIS name is Clark Green. Do you know him or not?" She asked equally irritated. She could still smell perfume in the room...and it definitely wasn't her's.. Though I'm probably over-thinking it.. Maybe his sister stopped by.. She ran a hand through her dark hair, smiling and giving Trent a big hug, "I missed you."

"Nah, I've never heard of him." Trent said as he stuffed his face, dropping his chopsticks as Tayden hugged him. He rolled his eyes, but eventually hugged back. Tayden was fun, but she really interrupted his fun on campus sometimes.. He had to cancel his blonde beauty last second.. Though he couldn't bring himself to drop Tayden. She was useful, being the Sheriff's daughter and all, but also he found her intriguing. No matter how long he knew her she always seemed to have something to hide. He ran his thumb across her cheek, "You should eat. Chinese food is good for the figure."

"Are you calling me fat?" She asked, surprised for a second before throwing a pillow at him, "You're the fatty." and she took a bite of her food. Being around Trent made things simple.. Though she did send her sister's a text.

"To: Tiff, Kat

Hey, I'm fine. I'm staying at a friend's house tonight. Tiff you're alright tho... right? Keep me posted.. Tell mom and dad I won't make dinner again."

"Well forget about it for today. Just be careful and watch out, out there."

Katilyn's blue eyes scanned Clark for some kind of catch, but she dropped the thought. The three standing around her were definitely not something she wished to trifle with, but she did want answers eventually. She nodded her head, adjusting her backpack straps before smiling weakly, "You're not an ass like most teachers. You're okay, for a teacher, Green." she smiled, jogging away almost instantly after her informal comment. She didn't bother staying to make an attempt at reading his text, she had other things on her mind, like finding Tayden. Also she had to appear as 'normal' as possible to him and her peers. To keep up the 'normal' act, Katilyn didn't run at full speed, as much as she wanted to catch her sister before she disappeared. She was sure her mother would help fill in the blanks about the Green family once she got home anyway.

Heh, no detention? Just what is he trying to do, be our friend and our teacher? She though, tossing her empty coffee cup in the trash can. She forgot to grab Tayden's sketchbook from her desk in Mr. Green's class.. but she didn't have time. Surely if it was so important to Tayden she wouldn't have left it, right?

She walked outside, frowning to herself when she realized Tayden was long gone. She kicked a trash can in her frustration. Her eyes were suddenly glowing an inhuman shade blue as her anger got the best of her. There was a large dent left in the metal garbage bin as a result of her loss of her cool. She closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down once she realized she risked someone seeing her.

"To: Tiff, Kat

Hey, I'm fine. I'm staying at a friend's house tonight. Tiff you're alright tho... right? Keep me posted.. Tell mom and dad I won't make dinner again."

Katilyn frowned, texting Tayden back, only without Tiffany in the conversation. She didn't think Tayden told Tiffany bout Trent yet, and she didn't want to worry their older sister. It wasn't like there was anything they could do. Tayden would have to learn the hard way that her boyfriend was no good for her, Katilyn already tried that talk with her little sister. It wasn't a pretty conversation and Tayden came up with an excuse for all of his faults. Maybe one day she'll stop lying to herself and find a suitable boyfriend.. Then Katilyn sighed, brushing her hair back. Who am I kidding? At least she HAS a boyfriend.. Shitty or not, she's got someone. I'm all alone.. She's lucky to always have someone to talk to.. even if it's a douche bag like Trent..

"To: Tayden

Hey you little shit, you need to tell me where you're going before you run off! Why do you get to skip dinner? Ugh you know I hate going home when you're not there. You're so selfish, Tay."

She sent it angrily, quickly shifting to another text, this time to her older sister, Tiffany. She used to be so close to her older sister, but in light of recent events... she avoided her at almost all costs. She couldn't look Tiff in the eyes and lie to her like she did to her parents. She was afraid that one day Tiffany would ask about Haley and she'd be forced to tell the truth.. She wasn't ready for that.. She couldn't have Tiffany judging her. She couldn't be seen as a murderer by her own family. Her mother was Sheriff. It would be the worst kind of dishonor for them to find out Katilyn was the one who killed Haley.

"To: Tiff

Hey, I'm fine too. I got Tayden's text, did you? I guess it's just us, and dad eating dinner tonight.. I suppose mom is pulling an all-nighter at the station considering that body. Has mom said anything yet? Was it a...?"

She didn't say werewolf, mostly because she was one of those conspiracy theorists. She didn't trust the government with her secret, so she just had to hope Tiffany would catch onto what she meant without needing more hints. The less that they put in writing, the better.

Tiffany had been in La la land when her phone went off. "Oooh 2 messages super, I am actually somewhat popular today." She looked at who sent them and smiled, she never understood why her sisters were falling away from her, had she done something wrong? Was it the fact that she wasn't a very popular person? Either way they were leaving her behind a lot of the time and Tiffany just watched making sure they always knew she would be here for them. No matter what the situation.

To Tayden/Kat (Mass Message)

Will let parentals know you won't be home for din din, you gonna be home at all tonight actually? Just cuz I'll leave the outside light on if you are :). Also I'm all good here everything is so hectic around town tho. My cafe is closed :(

To Kat

Hey yeah I got the text you'll notice I sent one back :P Um haven't had a chance to talk to mom yet so not sure, I'll see if I can get anything out of her later on, you know her she is probably checking out the scene right now and it's better to message her when she is half way through the night and easy to talk too :)

Tiffany never had a problem talking to either of her parents even when it came to their new situation where they were thinking of divorce Tiffany was more into their martial situation then a regular therapist. It was more than obvious that the two still loved each other but where Dad was willing to forgive Mom, mom couldn't get past the fact that she had cheated on him, and especially that one of her children were the one's who found out. It made Tiffany extremely sad to see her parents going through this but they had too, she couldn't do anything for them, they had to try and get themselves back together. But, it would be a very slow road back if they did.

Tiffany sank into the sidewalk chair and looked up at the sky it wasn't a very nice day out at all, all cloudy it looked like it might even rain to her. She started drifting off into La La Land again as she watched the clouds and started making drawings out of them. She was in her happy place even if that happy place wasn't reality.

Various talk and electric tones filled the air as David fiddled his thumbs in hesitation at the thought of just getting up and leaving. Sure, he was his own ride and there was no way anybody else was picking him up, but he found it was kinda rude to just walk out of class unannounced. So, he stood up and took in a breathe in preparation to speak his mind, but his attention was Imagetaken when the new girl began to fall down thanks to another student. David quickly shifted his body in order to catch the unknown girl. As she landed in his arms, she answered with a barely audible thank you, lifting herself up as she approached Mr. Green. The newcomer was beautiful to say the least, but David didn't feel like bothering with an attempt at flirting due to the day's recent developments. Hell, he didn't very much feel like going back home to his empty house either, but still with a reluctant smile he motioned towards his new teacher, gaining his attention.

"I'm my own ride, so... yeah." he said with his head slightly down, giving a small wave as he walked through the door and out into the hall. By the time he had reached his car, he still didn't know where he wanted to go, so he climbed inside the front seat and just started driving aimlessly. This continued on for almost ten minutes before he suddenly heard a loud thud from out of nowhere, He immediately smashed on the breaks, his body jolting forward from the force as his mind raced with worry that he had hit an animal or worse, a person. David looked around for a moment, but all he noticed was how barren and empty the street seemed, an odd circumstance for this early in the day. But, then again this day seemed to be filled with odd circumstances.

Deciding not to dwell on it for any longer, he returned to his attention to driving, letting his mind focus only on the task at hand and not the danger that seemed to be slowly growing.
