Friendly | Geeky | Clumsy | Optimistic | Untrusting
A-Kay is a very kind and friendly girl who enjoys talking to people and can get along with most people. She has a sunny disposition and a natural optimism which people find refreshing, though others believe this optimism to be naive. Despite this, A-Kay is happy with who she is and often ignores people who would speak ill of her, instead spending her time with those who she cares about and who care about her.
It is not, therefore, surprising to find that A-Kay has an inner geek which just begs to break free every now and then. A-Kay can often be caught diving into a discussion on how to survive a zombie apocalypse or the pros and con of the latest YuGiOH deck. Nothing can make her happier then when someone actually gets it and joins in, especially when they get her references or jokes.
Finally, like everyone out there, A-Kay has a bad side to her personality. It can often be considered contradictory traits, being optimistic but still being untrusting of others and this is because it is. Though A-Kay believes in the best of people and will often empathises with others, she is unable to place her trust in someone enough to actual show real vulnerability. She much prefers to keep superficial relationships with people then actually risk being hurt by them. Her untrusting nature is probably to do with what happened in her past with best friend.
It is who I am, and I kinda like it... though everyone has that one thing they would change about themselves I guess...

A-Kay's mother, Trinity, always had an interest in Japanese culture, and so went to Japan for 2 weeks. During those weeks, she met a man who offered to act as a guide. After a night of drinking she ended up sleeping with him, but the next morning found him gone.
1 month later, she discovered she was pregnant with A-Kay. Trinity ended up moving back in with her parent in order to support herself and her new baby.
A-Kay had a wonderful childhood, even though she was considered odd by other children and was often ignored, she was happy. A-Kay's mother and grandparents doted upon her and gave her the love and attention she needed in order to be raised happy. However, as the years went on and A-Kay hit puberty, things began to grow stranger, and that was when A-Kay first realised her affinity for fire. She kept her abilities a secret from her family, but each day they grew stronger and one night she lost control. On the 2nd of January, A-Kay lost her whole family to a house fire. She was the only one to survive.
A-Kay then went into the foster system, and it was not long before a man appeared who claimed to be her father. Takeo, her father, took on the young girl and together they moved into the sleepy town of Beacon Hills. Her father explained what A-Kay was and taught her control. It took a while but eventually A-Kay returned to her normal self, her subconscious having suppressed the memories of the fire to protect her. At the age of 16, Takeo enrolled his daughter into Beacon Hill's high, believing her finally ready to reenter society.
