Th1rteen R3asons Why

With the suicide of Hannah Baker came thirteen letters to thirteen, unsuspecting strangers. They've been elected to stop the death of a peer amongst them. Will they succeed, or will they once again be the Th1rteen R3asons Why.

Introduction

Image
The dreams in which I'm dyeing are the best I've ever had.
Dear stranger,
If you have received and/or are now reading this letter, then it is safe to say that I am dead. It is also safe to say that you, my good friend, are one of the thirteen reasons why I decided to say to hell with it and end my life. I didn't want your pity in life, and I sure as hell don't want it in death. If anything, I'm doing this to help you realize that even the smallest of remarks can have a huge impact on someone's life. Ever heard the saying that the flap of a butterfly's wing in Taiwan can cause a hurricane in California? Or, something like that? Whatever. Point is, no one knows for certain how much of an impact they have on the lives of other people. Oftentimes we have no clue. Well, it's about damn time that you all get a clue. The thirteen people that are reading this letter right now know about each other (this is a small ass town), but barely have any interaction with one other. Sure, you all shared classes and have been sharing them since pre-k. Yeah, you all hang out at the same places, eat the same foods, bleed the same blood. But none of you have taken the time to break down the walls dividing you. I know it's hard to do; trust me. Hell, it's one of the main reasons I'm not telling you this crap in person. It's time to learn some tolerance, people. And not only tolerance, but a little bit of compassion, too. You all might be different, but you have one thing in common; a soul. At least, I think so. Oh! And you also have one more tiny thing in common. Not only have you all helped in my final decision, but you could also be the ending result of someone else's pretty shoestring necklace. You all are connected to one very special person in particular. One that is finding herself in the same predicament I had for months; she's thinking about ending it all. Saying adios to life and grabbing the express train outta here. If you all actually try a little bit of tenderness, (God, I loved that song!), then maybe you can help her realize that this doesn't have to be the end. She's a sweet girl. She deserves a bit more life. Before I forget, remember this; that saying things aren't always as they seem? Yeah. Keep it in mind, folks.
Yours in Death;
Hannah Baker

Jeremy Jensen, an average, if somewhat shy, high school student, returns home from school one day to find a small envelope sitting on his doorstep. Upon opening it, he discovers that it is a letter written by the late Hannah Baker – his classmate and emotional crush who recently committed suicide. The letter is initially mailed to thirteen classmates with revealing information concerning an unknown peer. In the letters, Hannah explains to thirteen people how they played a role in her death, and how they may very well be repeating the process for another young woman. Curiosity and fear of exposure keep the people on the list on the edge of their seats and aware of any and every classmate they pass in the hallways. Will they allow the fear and uncertainty of the situation hinder them in accomplishing Hannah's dyeing wish, or will they somehow come together to help save the life of the most unexpected of people?

T H E //T H 1 R T E E N//R 3 A S O N S

  • Jakob Foley The One Who Lied
A typical jock who lies and exaggerates the event saying that they had gone further. This gives Hannah a negative reputation at her new school.

  • Asher Standall The One That Added Fuel To The Flame
A lanky delinquent who put her down as the "Hottest Ass in the Senior Class" on his Senior Class—Who's Hot / Who's Not list. This action perpetuates the reputation of promiscuity, and causes Hannah to become the object of sexual harassment.

  • Jenay Davis The One She Trusted
An overachiever who was jealous of Hannah due to the fact that Hannah had been put on the Hot List and Jenay herself was on the Not List. Jenay also liked Asher, assumed the rumors that Jakob was perpetuating were true, and abandoned Hannah as a friend.

  • Tucker Dawnson The One Who Ruined Her Privacy
An eclectic outsider who was peeping in Hannah's window and taking pictures of her and soon passes them about the school. This causes Hannah to feel unsafe in one of her last sanctuaries, her own home.

  • Cayleigh Krimson The One That Was The Sweetest
A perky class representative who most consider nice, who often hurts people unintentionally. Hannah had thought that they had become friends after a class field trip, but Hannah discovers that Cayleigh, too, has been manufacturing and perpetuating rumors.

  • Malcolm Cooley The One That Pulled The Prank
A prepped out track runner who went on a date with Hannah on Valentine's Day. The date was a joke, but he realized that Hannah might have taken it seriously and went to the diner where they had their. When he finds her there, he tries to force her to allow him to touch her in a sexual manner.

  • Zeena Dempsey The One That Helped Unravel Her
An average classmate who witnesses the confrontation between Malcolm and Hannah, offers assistance, but is rebuffed by Hannah. Possibly out of spite, she later steals Hannah's "compliment letters", which were a part of a Peer Communication class, when Hannah was in severe need of positive reinforcement.

  • Rina Shafer The One Who Published Her Soul
The editor of a school newspaper, who befriended Hannah out of a common interest in poetry, shared private poems with her, and Hannah shared her private poems with Rina. Rina published one of Hannah's poems which she had stolen, and Hannah's private poem was dissected and ridiculed among the student body.

  • Jeremy Jensen The One That Loved Her
A shy, unassuming boy who Hannah connected with and fell in love with, but at this point in her life she was having difficulty connecting with anyone on an emotional level. Jeremy was only on the list because she regretted never getting the opportunity to know him better. Jeremy conversely feels guilty that he didn't try harder to understand Hannah, who he had affection for in return.

  • Jakob Foley (Again) The One Who Lied
Who after leaving Jenay Davis passed out in a bedroom at a party, allows Bryce Walker to enter the room and rape her. Unknown to everyone, Hannah was hiding in the closet, and did not help Jenay either. She held herself and Jakob partially responsible for Jenay's rape.

  • Emily Kurtz The One Who Lost The Most
A bitchy cheerleader who helped hook Hannah up with Malcolm. She was giving Hannah a ride home when she hit and knocked over a stop sign. Emily refused to report it and, when pressed further, kicked Hannah out of the car. Due to the missing stop sign, a senior citizen was hurt and a student, that attends their school, later died in an accident that evening due to the missing stop sign.

  • Bryce Walker The One Who Changed The Game
A drunken party boy who engaged in manual sex with Hannah after another party, ignored her apathy towards him. Hannah consented to this activity to try and force herself to the conclusion that committing suicide was the right choice.

  • Evan Porter The One Who Wouldn't Listen
The 'psychiatrist' on campus who Hannah hinted to about her plans to commit suicide, and Evan still allowed her to leave his home and failed to comfort Hannah properly. His poor advice was the last straw for Hannah.

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

This sounds like a great RP.

Are there any open characters?

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

Edited; hope it's alright now.

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

If you don't know how, or can't get the sizing right, go ahead and send me a link to the image via PM. I'll size it for you and then send back the finished version.

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

I would give my character an avatar, but every time I try, it says my image is too big, but it's not. I've made sure of it :|

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

I'm glad everyone is still getting into it, but I'm not accepting anymore profiles until character avatars are posted.

Re: [OOC] Th1rteen R3asons Why

I posted up my old characters. <3
