His bonded dragon is Medusa, and despite his enthusiasm, the two of them had a bit of a rocky start. It took him a while to realize that the hatchling was blind and even longer to realize that it wasn't just female.
Physical Description
With startling height and an appetite to match, Terry just looks like the athlete he is. He's built with lean muscle and meets physical challenges with ease. Given his long limbs and 6'1" height, people are often surprised to learn that he's not on the basketball team. No, this young man has a scholarship in cross country, and one look at his face when he runs is enough to tell that he loves it.
Being from Montana, Terry's a bit of a nature child, and it shows. His murky brown hair streaks blond from the sun while his ever-tanning skin never manages to return to its natural paleness before summer comes around. He's a bit of a golden boy in more than one sense of the word, and the only trait that breaks the color scheme is the cool grey-blue of his eyes. He likes to joke that they match the weather since they seem to change colors with the natural light.
His casual wear consists of simple shirts and jeans along with surprisingly elaborate jackets. Apparently he has a friend who works at a shop with some cool clothes. On training days, he can usually be found in athletic wear - sleeveless shirts and jerseys with basketball shorts or sweatpants. Even though he lets his overgrown hair be a mess when he goes to class, he always sweeps it back neatly with a headband before going on a run. At home he sometimes uses bobby pins or barrettes.
Personality
Upbeat and loyal, Terry's been told more than once that he seems like a dog person - more in the sense that he's like a dog rather than that he likes them. Good-natured and always wanting to be a part of things, he's the kind to drop everything to help out a friend… often dropping everything on another friend in the process. Yes, although Terry's always been popular on a superficial level, his actual friends need to pool all their fingers to list off all his flaws.
For one thing, Terry's rather self-centered. This isn't to say that he's selfish by nature, but his vision is often limited to the scope of his own comfort and he doesn't quite realize when he's making trouble for other people. In this sense, he is inconsiderate. He's the kind of guy who would move the furniture around the house to get a fresh start on things, but forget to tell his blind roommate to watch out. He's more than once worn shoes into the shared apartment despite Min's persistent reminders. If Terry doesn't put extreme effort into remembering, he easily forget things that are a hindrance to his own comfort.
Likes
- Running - he's been doing track and field since middle school, and it's what's keeping him in college.
- Nature - in his opinion, there's nothing better than running through the grass or sand or trees.
- Granola Bars - they're easy to eat on the go and taste pretty good too!
- Convenience - since Terry's always on the move, anything that helps him get more done more quickly with more comfort is a bonus.
Dislikes
- Coffee - he just thinks it looks and tastes gross and there's no persuading him otherwise.
- Rain - he's never been a fan of the 'wet sock' feeling.
- Useless Rules - when he doesn't see the point of a rule or thinks it's just inconvenient, he's bound to protest it eventually.
- Limitations - keeping Terry boxed in is like trying to raise a labrador in a shoebox; it's not going to work and no one is happy.
Fears
- Fast Vehicles - while Terry can trust his own two feet, that isn't always the case with cars or roller coasters.
- Broken Bones - the thing about running is that it's a full-body thing; one broken limb and he's on downtime.
